Class Overview:
In this class, we will learn how to make and personalise heart-shaped felt keychain using the Cricut cutting machine. I will teach you how to upload the file into Cricut Design Space, how to personalise your design by adding text, and how to set up Cricut machine for cutting. we will also learn how to transfer your design on to the base material using Heat Press tool.

If you are a new Cricut user, this project is perfect for you! as I'm gonna teach you step by step how to prepare your file and customise it in Cricut Design Space, setting up the base material, loading your material into the machine and assemble everything together.

Hands-on Class Project
Introduction : In this class, you will learn how create a charming heart-shaped felt keychains using Cricut machine. we will learn how to set up the file in Cricut design space and how to cut your design. After that, I will show you how to transfer your design onto felt with heat press tool and how to assemble the keychain together.
Lesson 2 : tools and materials
I have attached the heart shaped SVG file and it is available for download under project & resources.
- Cricut machine ( I use Cricut maker 3)
- Cricut Premium Fine point blade
- Acrylic fabric
- 4mm flat sequin
- lace
- stainless steel keychain
- DMC embroidery thread
Lesson 3 : how to set up the file in Cricut Design Space
In this lesson, I will teach how to upload the SVG files (can be downloaded from class description) and add the file on to the canvas. We will also learn how to add text to your design. Once you're done with the setting, I will guide you step by step how to cut the file. You will need Cricut rotary blade to cut the felt and Cricut Premium fine point blade to cut the glitter iron-on.
Lesson 4 : how to weed the design and transfer it on to the base material
once you're done with the cutting, unload your mat and we will remove the unwanted parts off of your design. With Cricut Easy press mini (or any other heat press machine you already have), we will transfer the design on to the felt. I will also share with you how to set up the heat setting, how to prepare the base material before you transfer your design, how long you should iron the material. Once it's cool to touch, we will remove the plastic liner.
Lesson 5 : finishing touch and adding embellishment
it's the final part. we will add embellishment such as toho seed beads or sequins on to the heart shape felt, add some polyester stuffing and add a piece of lace before closing the stitches. Then, using blanket stitches, we're going to sew the edges of the heart shapes together.
