1. Lesson 1 : introduction: Hi everyone. Welcome to Hanna Crochet Design. Welcome to my class on creating adorable heart shape, key chain from felt fabric, using the cricket maker. I'm Ava, and I've been passionate about crafting and DIY projects for as long as I can remember. I'm excited to be here with you today. In this class, we'll be using cricket machine, a versatile cutting machine that will help us achieve precise and intricate design effortlessly. In this class, I'm going to teach step by step to make this heartfelt shaped kitchen. I will show you how to personalize it in cricket design space. And you can use this as a name tag for your kids lunch box. This project is also a perfect sewing project for beginner. You can help your child cut out a pattern and they can sew it together. We'll begin by setting up our project in cricket design space. The S fg files will be provided and you can download it from class description box below. I will guide you step by step how to set up the file, how to load the matrial to your machine. The right blade to cut out the felt fabric, the material for the tags, and so on. After you're done with the cutting, I will show you how I transfer the glitter on on vinyl onto the felt. And for the final touch, I'm going to share with you how I added embellishment such as swing different size of set beads and sequence onto the felt. Lastly, we're going to add a piece of lace or stainless steel loop and sow the hardship felt altogether. If you're interested to make this cute felt key chain, gather your supplies, set up your cricket maker and let's get started. 2. Lesson 2 : tools and materials: Hi everyone. In this lesson I'm going to share with you all the tools and materials that you're going to need to make this hard shape. Felt you need a cutting machine for this project. I'm using my cricut maker tree. I'm going to cut out this iron on glitter vinyl as well as the felt fabric on my cricut maker tree to cut out the felt. I'm using this cricket rotary bled. This rotary blade can cut out different kind of material from silk, cotton, and denim to cut out the glitter vinyl on. You're going to need this Cricket fine point blade to transfer the Ion vinyl onto the fabric. I'm just going to use this Cricket easy press mini. You will also need this Cricket easy press mat to protect your working service. You're going to need two types of Cricket met. The first one will be the cricut fabric. Crick mat in pink color to cut out the fold fabric. And a standard grip mat to cut out the glitter on vinyl. If your mat is not sticky anymore, you're going to need this masking tape to keep your material in place during the cutting process. You will also need felt fabric in different colors. For this project, I'm using acrylic, felt glitter on vinyl for the text. This is my favorite part, which is the embellishment. You can use different types and different size of bits. You can use the round toho set bits in size 11 or you can use sequence. This is four millimeter flat sequence or even smaller bits like this in size 15, the bits are all from the same brand, which is toho Japanese bits. And to sew the felt together, you're going to need this the MC embroidery thread. I use this polyester stuffing for my heart shaped felt. To hang this heart shaped felt, you can either use a piece of lace or you can use a stainless steel key chain. I will provide the Pg file, which you can download from the class description box below. That's all for the tools and materials. In the next lesson, I'm going to share with you how I set up the file in cricut design space. 3. Lesson 3 : set up the file in Cricut Design Space: In this lesson, I'm going to share with you how to set up the file in cricket design space. If you are a cricket member, you can access this file. Go to my design space Profile Hanna Crochet Design, and go to my shared project, Look for Hardship, Felt Key Chain Project, and click Customize. If you're not a cricket member, you can download the file from the class description, open cricket design space, and create new canvas. Go to the left panel and click upload. Click upload, Image, click browse, and select the file that you want to upload on. The next page, select the uploaded file and add to canvas. There are four hardship design that you can create. First, let's ungroup the file. You can go to the right panel and click this icon. If you look at the first design, it's a little bit difficult to cut out these details on a filed fabric. If you're planning to make this design, I suggest you to use foil on, on, or any other heat transfer vinyl. For the center part for this tutorial, I'm going to use the second design which is the most simple one. Let's delete the rest of the design. Next I'm going to show you how to change the text. First, I'm going to remove the text in the middle of the hard shape and then go to the left panel and click texts. To change the phone type, you can go to the top left panel and click on the drop down arrow. If you subscribe to design space, you can use any phone from this without additional charge. Since you still have to remove the unwanted vinyl off of your design, try to avoid the phone type with a very thin stroke. Once you're done with a setting, highlight all the layers and click Duplicate. This file is ready for cutting. Next, I'm going to share with you how to cut the file with a cutting machine, and I'm going to use my original design. Once you're done with a setting, highlight all the layers and click Duplicate. Then go to the right panel and click Make. The file will be cut in three different mats. Click on the first Met and change the Marial size to 30.5 by 30.5 CM. Since this is an Ion project, you've got to mirror your image. Change the Mario size to 30.5 by 30.5 M for the second and the third met. I will also adjust the placement of my hardship. Once you're happy with the set up, click continue. On the next page, we're going to set up the base matrio for the text. I'm going to use glitter on vinyl. You will see the reminder again to mirror your image and place the marial shiny side down on your mat. Select default for the pressure. I will use this standard crip mat to cut the glatter iron on vinyl. Place the marial shiny side down on the met. I use masking tape to keep the matrial in place during the cutting process. Load the premium fine point blade in clem. Then you can load the mat into your machine and press. Once you're done with that, we're going to cut the second file for the material. I'm going to use this felt acrylic fabric and I'm going to choose default for the pressure. Prepare the fabric grip mat, which is the pink color mat. Change the blade to crick out rotary blade and put it in clamp. Once you're done with that, do the same thing with the third file. So you're going to set up the base material to felt acrylic fabric and then set default for the pressure place the felt on the pit. We will still use the same bleed which is Cricket Rotary bleed. In the next lesson I'm going to share with you how to remove the unwanted. Let the vinyl from your design. 4. Lesson 4 : how to weed heat transfer vinyl and transfer the design with heat press : In this lesson, I'm going to share with you how to transfer the glyta ion on onto the felt. Once your design is cut, remove the excess vinyl, leaving only your design on the backing ship. Use the wedding tool to remove the small parts to transfer the vinyl. I'm going to use this Cricket easy press mini. Refer to the heat guide on Cricket.com If you're using different machines or different material, select the machine that you're using. Select the heat transfer material as well as the base material. I suggest you to check the heat guide before transferring your material because different material require different heat setting. Pre heat, easy press, meant to low and then pre heat felt for 5 seconds. Position your design on the felt fabric with a plastic liner side up. Press the easy press firmly on the design, applying even pressure for the recommended time. Recommended time for the glitter on on is 30 seconds. With a low setting, only remove the plastic liner when it is cool to touch. In the next lesson, I'm going to share with you how to add embellishment onto your felt hardsht. 5. Lesson 5 : assemble and adding embellishment: Hi everyone. In this final lesson I'm going to teach you how to assemble and add embellishment to our hardship felt key chain for embellishment. You can use any type of seat beats from Swarvskibats or Japanese seatbts. I'm using toho seatbts size 11.8 I will also use this four millimeter flat sequence. For the seat beats. I'm going to use two different sizes. The smaller one is size 15 and the bigger one is size eight. I started with four millimeter flat sequin. Bring your needle up through the center of the sequin and I'm going to sold this small seat bit, size 15 in the center of that sequin. I will also use slightly bigger bits. This is round to set bits in size eight. Once you're done, tie a small knot at the back of your hardship to secure it, I'm going to place this pink heart shape on top of the brown heart shape. You can glue them together. I'm going to sew them together with embroidery thread. There are six individual strands in one embroidery thread. I'm just going to use three strands. I'm going to split the thread into three strands. Insert the strands through the needle and secure it with a small, not using blanket stitch along the edges of the heart shape to secure it. I will tie a knot at the back of the heart ship just to give you an idea. You also can make a smaller size hardship felt key chain for the embellishment. I keep it simpler. I'm just going to use one type of bits which is the tube bits with embroidery thread. I'm going to sew along the edges using blanket stitch. You need to make two of this design. And then we're going to attach both hard she together using three strands of embroidery trad. I'm going to sew these two hard sheets together using blanket stage along the edges of the heart, leaving a small opening for stuffing stuff the heart shape with a feeling until it reaches your desired level of phiness. I'm going to fold a piece of lace to create a loop inserted in between two heart shape and continue solving to secure the stitch, tie a small knot and trim any excess trap. I make another hard Shep felt key chain with my daughter's name on it. I cut out the herd sheep on acrylic felt. I added my daughter's name and also her class in the middle of the herd sheep and cut it on foil on. Thank you for joining my class today. I hope you enjoy making this key chain and see you in my next class.
