1. Introduction : Hello everyone, Welcome back. So I'm Fatima. Often I have done a lot of workshops and lots of exhibitions in Malaysia. So in this course you're going to learn to paint this beautiful magical landscape. Let's see what are all the things you gotta learn. You will get to know the materials required. What are the colors we go now use water or warm colors, cool colors, the nature of acrylic medium, and how to mix colors using few primary colors to paint your landscape. And that to start, and how to get the gradient wash everything step-by-step in detail. I'm gonna show you by doing it. And you will get to know the better idea if you do it along with me and how to give the cooler effect, warmer affect everything in detail. I'm super excited to share my knowledge with you. See you next video. 2. Materials Required : Welcome back to our first project. So let me prepare the surface. I want to have the clean borders. So I'm going to use masking tape. We will call this as masking tape or painter's tape. Whatever it is called is you can just use it. Uses scissors to cut this one to make the progress easier. Okay. We're surface I mean, we table the masking tape. Now. Why were you going to paint? I'm going to show you how to paint the misty forest scene or something like that. Okay, let's start doing that. So firstly, I'm going to start from light to dark for the lighter shade, for some paint on my palette. Before starting that, let me share some of the things you need to know about the medium, the acrylic medium, okay? So first thing, acrylic is a fast drying medium, so you have to work faster. If it dries, you cannot reactivate it. It will be like a kind of plastic. Okay. So we cannot reactivate it. It will be permanent. So whenever you squeeze paint from the tube or bottle, squeeze lesson won't use it if you need more, reload your palate and unless otherwise, you might waste the paint. And point number two, acrylic is water-based. So you can mix water with acrylic. That doesn't mean you can make so much water with it. If you add too much water with acrylic incident period of time, your artwork may end up creating some cracks that would definitely disappoint you, right? So wide. Mixing too much water, you can touch a little bit, okay, I will show you how much water you can mix with acrylic while we do the progress. Okay. And the point number three, acrylic is opaque. So if you do any mistake, you can correct it by adding another layer of code. And then you can add another detail or something, whatever it is. If you're not satisfied with the result, you can go over it. So this is really forgiving and beginner friendly. So you can paint with confidence. You don't need to worry about that, okay? So these are all the basic things you need to know about acrylic medium. Let's start doing, oh, painting. The first layer, we're going to block the background first. Okay. So I squeeze some white. I'm going to add the greenish background. So like I told you, if you are not paying something cool, try to choose colors which are cooler, okay? So here we have a loss. I'm going to block the bathroom with cool colors. So I need this lemon yellow seed. This is how it will look. Once acrylic dries a kind of plastic, you cannot reactivate it. Okay. And I want to have the blue shade. I mean, I need green. So when you mix yellow and blue, you will obviously get the green shade right. Tried to mix colors by yourself, okay. Now, I need a pallet to mix my colors. If you don't have a pallet, don't worry, you can simply use your brush. I need okay. Light yellow shade. So I'm gonna mix yellow with white. Mix it well, you will get something creamy, buttery that show. This is fun to mix colors. Light bulb, the pain from the palette. Now I need green shade. So I'm going to attach little bit of blue and mix it with yellow. Just enjoy the progress. I need a little more yellow. Again, I'm going to pick up few from this mixture. Okay, We have white, yellow, light yellow, green, and blue. Now I'm going to start painting using my 14 numbers or number 14, filbert brush from Thailand series. This is from art back. Okay. How to wash your brush? Just go inside by going back and forth. Okay, move your brush back and forth. Drain the excess water. Use a paper towel or restless to change the excess water. Now I'm going to start with white. Okay. So I, when I start from here, okay, just like a circle, it doesn't need to be the perfect circle. Just dab, dab, dab and spread it. Now I'm going to pick up yellow should be mixed with white. Leaves some space in between that white and a low. Okay, now I'm going to blend it with the white by dabbing it like this. And more closer to divide, send apart. We need to leave some white fill whitespace in the middle, but just dab it around it. Now I'm going to touch a little bit of green along with this yellow and mix it. And I'm going to create another circle. Again, leave some space in between the green and the yellow, which we painted just before. And now I'm going to merge it by dabbing. Just dab, dab, dab, and go closer to the yellow center. But okay, this way, this dab, dab, dab, and come closer to the green side as well. Okay, Now we got it. Now I'm going to add more green and yellow, mixed them together. This material will be a little bit darker compared to the previous one. Again, leave some space in between the previous green and the green which we are right now. Okay, once you complete the circuit, start blending it by dabbing in the middle of them. Just to enjoy the progress. Don't worry about the mistake, so don't worry if you're painting doesn't own a plot. Mine. It will be unique in your own v. If I even tried to imitate my own painting, I cannot get it the same V, Okay, So don't worry, the same way, just go closer to the previous color by dabbing it. Okay, now I'm going to pick up the green alone and I'm gonna add it the same way we are repeating the same progress. Okay. And then fill the space. Okay, I need a little more paint. As I left more space in between. And just merge. Merge the colors, merge the layers by dabbing it this way. Okay, just spread the color. Now I'm going to pick up little blue and I'm going to mix it with the leftover green. I have. Okay. And just mix it and start over here. Okay. The bottom, and then go towards the top. This lesson is definitely a beginner friendly. The same way, just move towards the previous layer. By dabbing your brush. Just dab, dab, dab. The brush. You need to pick up less paint in your brush so that you can get this. Otherwise, it will be a mess. Okay. Let's add a little touch of blue alone and create a shadow effect at the bottom. Okay, just dab, dab, dab it. If you need more, you can again touch it. In the first ago. If you touch more paint, then it might hide the background layers completely. So we don't need that, right? Okay. The other than blocking the background quickly and very easily, right? So now I'm going to wash my brush, like I told you, acrylic dries faster. So you have to clean your brush immediately once you've done your painting. So in the next lesson, I will show you what we're going to add next. Let's, I'm super excited to meet you in the next video. I'll see you. 3. How to Differentiate Cool and Warm Colours?: Welcome back to our first project. So let me prepare the surface. Let's, I'm super excited to meet you in the next video. I'll see you. 5. Final Project: Adding Details for the Leaves, Light and Shadow and The Rays from the Sun.: Okay guys, Welcome back to this lesson. So our background dried completely. Let's add few trees over here. Okay? I'm gonna do add the tree. To, add the leaves in the trees. I'm going to use the same filbert brush. And I'm going to use my half inch flat brush to add the stem. I'm in the branches, stem the tree trunk, everything. I'm going to use burnt umber to add the tree trunk. This one is from alpha, the brand alpha. Okay. Let's pick up some paint. I'm going to lose your photo with the tip of my brush. And again, I'm going to load it. If you have floating medium, you can use that instead of water as well. Okay. So I'm gonna start from here. In the beginning itself. You should not add the broader stroke. You should add it like a thin stroke. When you reach the bottom, you can increase the pressure to get a little broader stroke, okay. Okay. I'm going to add few branches. Okay, if you're not familiar using the brush, I mean, for thinner stroke, you can shift it to a smaller brush. And for the broader, thicker strokes you can use. Brought a blush to add the branches. I'm gonna use my smallest size flourish. This is number two size number to flourish. This wash your brush, loaded brush with bone, tumble again. And then start from here just as branches here and make some random curves. Don't make it straight. And also a branch from here. Some of the brands is gonna hidden by the lease, which we're going to add next. But still just said to get the idea. But that arbitrary which direction the branches are going and so on. Okay, I think this much is enough. And on over here. Okay. Now I'm going to add some leaves using the same brush. We already have blue in it. Okay? The first thing I'm gonna do is I'm going to use some violet also for the tree. Because to give the illusion to you, to our eyes, we have to do color differentiation. If you give the green alone, it won't look good. If you add some blues, if you add some yellows, then it will be more interesting to block, I mean to add the background leaves, I'm going to add violet as a son gonna hit over there. And some places we have to give the warm effect. So I'm going to use this warm blues that is cobalt blue. And also I'm going to use this warm red, I mean, sorry, cooled read. When you mix red and the warm blue, you will get the pretty violet. Like I told you, I wanna give the cool effect in my painting. I'm going to add a little more blue with this mixture. Increase the volume of blue. We got blue violet. Right? Now with this blue violet, I want to add a bit of white. Just mix it well. Okay. And also, I need this cool blue little bit added with a little touch of white. To add some background leaves which are in the shadow. I need a little more white. So I'm gonna pick up little more wide. And again, I'm going to mix it. Okay. We have an issue. This wipe off the ballot. Now, I'm going to add some violet again. Just dab it. Okay. Don't load so much paint in your brush, just listed as your file and just dab a little to show for violet in your brush. And then add some dab, dab it here and there. Again. Just dab it this way. It's okay if you can see those greens in between. Just add some violet. Just dab. Dab it unevenly, okay, don't dab evenly. It won't look good if you dab evenly. Add some more here as well. Dislike the leaves from this, the right direction is also coming through. Okay. Here's where it will give you the effect like the sunlight is hitting. At the same time. They are little further away from us. Okay. Now, I'm going to, I'm not going to watch this brush. I'm simply going to touch the blue. And then as the abs, It's like the previous layer. The violet should be visible. So don't cover the whole violet. We need to see the greens, we need to see the ILOs, we need to see the violet, blue, everything okay? So that the painting will make the magical effect. Just add the blue underneath the violet, not on top. Okay, We're almost done adding the blue. Now I'm going to pick up some yellow, green. The allready have the green mixture. I think that right. So I'm gonna make this blue with the yellow to get the green sheet. Can it even more blue? This is the cool blue. That is Prussian blue hue. Okay? And also I will not give them mixed effect. So I add the cool blue and I'm going to add the warm yellow with this mixture. Okay? So just mix it. Okay. Now I'm going to dab some greens and then I'm gonna debit here and there. Don't, like I told you, don't cover the whole background. You need to be see the yellows, you need to see the blues and also the violet. Everything should be visible. Just give them minimum pressure and just dab it again. And also give uneven edges. Just dab here and there. So now I'm gonna touch the white any longer. And I'm going to add a little highlight. Let's watch this brush. Now I'm going to add little warm effect. So I'm going to attach yellow. That is warm, yellow, medium yellow. And I'm going to mix a little bit of yellow, medium yellow with white to add the highlights. And also I'm going to add the warm green. So we already have the warm yellow in my palette. Now I'm going to add a little bit of warm blue with that. So if we mix the warm blue and the warm yellow, we will get the bright green sheet. Okay. So now I'm going to use this gun. Just wipe off. Just dab, dab, dab. And then I'd send warm green that you feel the light source hit. Okay. The light can pass through in between the bushes, everything right? So just give them warm effect. Variable, you feel the light hits. C. I haven't block the violet or blue shade behind it, right? Keep it in mind. And just play with the colors. If you observe the trees carefully, you can feel different shades of greens and blues in it. Get inspiration from nature. Okay. Just dab, dab everywhere. Okay. Now I'm gonna pick up the mixture and then dab it there wherever I feel. The light hits heavy. Just to add the highlight. So from here, we can get stronger light over here, right? In those places I'm adding the ALU Just give me my pressure. Okay. I'm just as it has some damaged vessels, I'm getting these kind of textures beautifully. Okay. Just dab, dab, dab. Okay. Now I'm going to wash my brush. And I'm going to use yellow ocher to give you the highlights for the tree trunk. I'm going to use my tiny flood brush. Just loaded. The light source is coming from this way, so I'm going to add the yellow ocher on the right side. When you add the lightened shadow effect, that will give you the 3D effect in your painting. Just dab here and there. And on the opposite side we will have shadows. So I'm going to use the cool blue and the sides as well, okay. Shadow direction. And also I'm going to add blues over here as we have shadow of the tree opposite to the sunlight, we can also add some blues here and there to add depth in your painting. Just dab, or you can even use the same filbert brush just loaded with the cool blue, that is Prussian blue hue and dab here and there. Okay. Okay. And the green leaves. Don't hide the background colors completely, like I told you before. We need to see all those previously added colors. That will give the beauty. Again. Some shadow leaves over here. Almost Jan. And I want to add a little more branches using burnt umber. Over here. Just Syngenta and leukemia. And also for the background trees. Okay, we are done with the painting. And if you want to make it more interesting, you can touch a little bit of red and you can add over there. Okay, let's do that. I'm going to use this warm bread, the brilliant red. Okay, let me put it over here. And I'm going to mix red along with the illuminate. Sure we have. Okay. And just mix it. And I'm going to add a bit of red, okay, this mixture here and there, to make it a little more warmer. To me the LO, look more. Just make the painting looks more interesting, right? That is a warmer tone. And red and green are complimentary colors. A light adding red when the green is still wet. Then you will end up creating some muddy effect, just like area. Then I'm going to add some race, some light passing through effect of white along with a little touch of yellow. So I'm going to adjust. Make a kind of slanted lines. Okay, little more yellow, a little more white. Just mix it. We don't need so much painting the brush. So just wipe it off and then add this kind of effect. Level. The added a low, just that direction. So it will give you the effect of the light passing through and severe hearing there. Okay. The law does give the effect of light hitting and also add some something like this near the shadow. Okay, we are done with the painting. I'm going to unmask it. Just peel it carefully. Otherwise, you will tear the paper along with this masking tape. Carefully, slowly, slowly, again. And the last side. So we are done with the painting. This is the final look of over painting. After removing the masking tape, you can sign under your project. So I'm going to assign my painting over here. I will see you in the next video. 6. Final Thoughts : Congratulations guys. Bonus: Tips to Create your Own Project : Welcome back guys. Here is the bonus tips for you to create your own project. In the previous videos, you have learned how to create the sunny effect in a painting, right? So in this bonus session, you're gonna learn how to create the night effect. So the colors are used. Here are deep Turkish and titanium white. Again, at the bottom, you need Prussian blue hue to block the background completely. Before you start painting, you have to block the background completely. You have to check is there any white spots here and there in the Canvas? Because if you add the dice without noticing those white spots, and once you complete the painting, if you get to know that you left some white spots, that will definitely affect the painting. So after blocking the background, splatter some titanium white to get the study effect in your painting and using a tiny tip brush, paint, moon or a crescent. So after that, you need to load your brush with Prussian blue hue and medium yellow, dab it on your palette, and then dab it on the place where you use Prussian blue hue to get the green leaves effect and also tried to have old brush to do that dabbing technique. Once you've done that, you have to add some highlight using the mixture of titanium white and medium yellow. Once you've done that, you have to add some tree trunks and branches using Mars Black and titanium white. Once you're done everything, we'll get this kind of beautiful painting in your hand. So I hope you enjoyed this, tried to share it with me. I mean, share your project with me.
