3. Lets Generate Some Ideas: Hey guys, welcome to the first lesson and let's generate some ideas. So in this lesson, I will show you how to come up with different ideas for your low contact book may be your first one or your next one. And different ways to generate ideas. Even if you have an idea already for a book, I would advise you to go through this lesson anyways now, too long. And you might get different point of views on how to come up with different ideas. So I have these five different ways of come up with ideas. The first one I called it untamed thirds, which is more or less like a brain done. And then we can look at obeys interests in past times. Impersonal virtual look at bookstores, a combination of niches and of course, Amazon browsing. The first one basically consists of getting a notebook and a nice cup of coffee or tea or whatever you like, hot chocolate. And jot down any ideas that comes to mind. So anything doesn't matter how crazy it sounds. It could be something really weird, but just write down everything that comes to mind. You don't have to use it, but it's a good exercise to just write down everything. So some examples could be prayer journal, dreams, slowpoke, travel journal, pregnancy diary, baby diary, budget journal, bed watching, Turner. The list is really endless. And then once you run out of things to write, you can look at hobbyist interest and pastimes that your family members or your friends or yourself. And again here they say hugely still things you can come up with from knitting to scrapbooking, to sewing, exercising, fishing, all sorts of. So just spread down all the different hobbies that you can come up with. And then you, what I'd like to do is to combine the whole base with the different ways of describing a low content book, like a look book, journal, diary, notebook, daily record. You can come up with different ones as well. And then went down. The hope is so interests that you like most. And then combine them so you can have a garden in look book or a gardening diary or a neat thing, daily record or anything journal. So you get the idea. You can do a little scheme like this. It's very simple and just fill it, fill it in. And then there's the option of going to a bookstore. Of course, in times of pandemic, that might be a little bit difficult to do. But you can always look online, thank God for the Internet, right? So you can just have a look at what's trending at the moment. But sort of books, of course, it's nice when you can actually hold the book in your hands. But you can still see the covers, the subjects, you know the themes. So you can have a browse like that as well. And then there is the combination of niches. So think of a theme for your low content book. So you can think of coffee or dogs or cats. So deadening teachers even no matter those cooking. And then you would think of different niches for your book like daily planner, prayer journal over I gratefulness, 2NO and so on. And then what you can do is you combine the thing and initials. So you can have a teacher's gratefulness journal, or a teacher's prayer journal, or a mother and daughter cooking journal, or adult themed daily planner or a cath teens the planner. So you get the idea where I'm going with this. So just combine different themes and different and see what you come up with. Don't forget to write everything down, of course. And then last but not least, hammers of browsing. After all, you are going to sell your local book on Amazon. So it makes sense to search Amazon, but make sure you use the so-called Incognito window. So for some reason I find it very difficult to say Incognito. So I might just call it the eye window. So try as an open day Incognito window or the eye window. And try browsing the bestseller list, use the top-down menu. And if there are authors flow content book that you like and have a look at the pages as well. Of course, this is always as a research, as an inspiration. Try not to copy even unintentionally, but tried to remain original with your books. So we can go now to the Chrome browser. And I'll just show you quickly what I mean. Alright, so this is the Chrome browser. So if we go here with this little three dots on the right hand side, and we go the new Incognito window. And you type in Amazon com. And you will see that this is Incognito because it's a dark black background here. And then sleep that. And then here you can just start typing one of your ideas. At the no cooking. Joe knows. And so we can see here there are some books and what you can do is see, it doesn't give you the option here. We can go into books and we can go into paperback because we don't need hardcover. They're not going to be our competitors. So spiral bound or anything like that. So we need to look at a paperbacks. And so this is basically how you do a search on the window of Chrome browser. Right? So in the next lesson, we will explore in find keywords to assign to your local git book. Once you are in the process of publishing your book, and see you in the next lesson.
4. Lets Explore Keywords : We'll come back to this new lesson. So in this lesson, we are going to explore some keywords. So in the case of low content books, keywords, words or phrases that customers type into the search bar in Amazon when they're looking for a specific book. And it's always a good idea to find a few low competition keywords to use for your book when you publish it. So why is it important to find the right keywords? Well, once you have found this keywords, you can insert them in your books metadata. So this way you can increase your book visibility and therefore your book. If your book is more visible, it will have more chances to be discovered by people and you will have more chances to be sold, which is what we want, right? So the book's MIT, data, just in case you don't know, is all the information you enter when you are in the process of publishing you book. So it will be the book title, subtitle the series if you use them, the book description, even though those name, you can have keywords does when you use a different name from Europe. And so there are different ways to generate a list of keywords for your book. And I would advise you to generate a nice log list. So the different ways you can think about what a potential customer will type in the search bar to find your book. Or you can use the Amazon top-down search bar. You can look for similar words with a thesaurus. And I'm going to go through each one of these now. So what might people search for? This might sound obvious, but it's a good point where to start. So if you're looking for a gardening Junior, for example, and someone my type gathering journal or gathering planner or weekly planner or gardening organizer, and so on. But they can also write planner for God there no journal for gardeners and so on. So just think of all the different ways you can say basically the same thing. And you can use a thesaurus. So if you have a physical one or online ones are quite handy. You can type in your chosen word. So for example, if you type in diary, it will give you a list of synonyms that you could use on Amazon. So the Amazon's customers can use, for example, I typed in diary and the synonyms that gave me where? Notebook agenda, they book Delhi re-code, journal, logo, and a few more. And then you can use Amazon dropdown menu. So if you open the window and start typing your keyword, you will see a list of other keywords in the dropdown menu. So if you type gathering Juneau, there's this least appearing in the dropdown menu. And then you should take a note of this new search keywords and add them to your list. And one cool thing to do is to try to combine your keyword search with Every single letter of the alphabet. And let me show you what I mean by that. Okay, so we're back in the Amazon website in the Incognito window. And let's start typing. Denning Juno. So you can see here, there is a list already of different keywords. And I think I haven't told you why you should use an Incognito window. I just remember now. So basically is because if you go into this type of window, Amazon won't remember what and searched for before. So it will be completely new, a new set. And this will remove any bias when you're doing your searches. Because Amazon tends to remember where you busy shuffle. And then it will give you some keywords here. The might not be what you need. So parenthesis close. Then you can look at all these different keywords here. So we have gathering Junior and look book gathered in general Planner. There's, we don't need this one mole skin and gathering Junior for women. So already you have a list of nice keywords that you can write down and take note of. And then we finish typing. And then what I was telling you about the alphabet letters. So if you type a, what comes up is gathering Junior and planner and load torque so that could be useful. And then type B. And you have what we aspire about this nobody useful for us. See gardening calendar journal, maybe. The digital NO, unless you want to do digital book. But There's nothing for E, for women, for kids, for men. So as you can see, if you do this with every single letter of the alphabet, you might come up with a few more keywords that didn't show up when you went just typing, gathering journal, for example. So here for example, we don't have for kids, it didn't appear. So just try every single letter and see what comes up. And this is a way to come up with a list of keywords. One more thing I wanted to just touch on at the moment is the if, something like very generic like cat notebook, for example, you will get a lot of results, 50 thousand results here. So this could be a niche, very saturated and very competitive. But if you are a bit more specific and narrow down your search and you write Siamese cats notebook. Just as an example, you will get silica few results by 4 thousand against 50 thousand is quite a bit lower. So this is one way to narrow down your keyword search and use specific keywords as specific as possible so you will have a lower competition keyword. So now it's your turn to try to generate between 20 to 25 keywords and make a note of every single one of them, either in your notebook or your computer, in a Word document or Excel document. And then you would need this for the next lesson. In the next lesson, I will show you how to validate your idea, both SEO, keyword idea, and also the book idea. See you in the next lesson.
5. Idea and Keyword Validation: Hi there, welcome back. So in this lesson, I will explain to you how to validate both you book idea and also your keywords at the same time. So now that you have at least of possible low content book ideas, you will want to create a book that people would actually want to buy. To do this, you need to validate your idea. So this way, you can create a book that someone is already looking for, thus enhancing the possibility to sell your book. And this might seem like a little work to do, but it's very important for the success of your book because this step will determine, will lead to determine if there is a real profitable market for your book even before you start making it and will avoid you to do all this work Or in a book maybe known is really looking for. So by now you should also have a list of keywords that you have generated. And using these keywords and your ideas you should ask yourself for very important questions. Are people already searching for this type of book in your selected niche? Is there already a market for your chosen niche? And you want to know if the market is active. And if it's a competitive market. Because if you find a very competitive market, then you might want to leave that idea because it might just be impossible for you to start out. So let's look at these one by one. Are people already searching for this type of book in your selected niche? So when you start typing in the Amazon sage Spanner, do you see keywords appear in the dropdown menu? If there are similar books that come up once you've typed in your keywords, then there is a market for these books. And if they're similar keywords that come up in the drop-down menu, it means that people are already looking for that type of book. So if you notice that people have looked for that particular keyword, but there are no many books appearing usage then, whoa, that's a jack both really, because you have found a book that someone is looking for. No one is really making for people. No one is putting any of these books out there, or very few are available. So this means that if you do a book into a particular niche, then you have good chances of selling it. And we have a low competition keywords now in our hands. If on the other hand, you get 50 thousand classrooms salts this niche like we did, for example, with the cat notebook. It means that this niche is pretty saturated and your book will have a lot of competition and you will be very difficult to make any cell in that type of niche. Is the market active? So to know this, you need to look at the bestsellers rank or BSR. If there is a number next to this, then people are buying the books. So the bestseller rank is independent details. And it's basically a score that Amazon assigns to product as soon as it starts selling. So even if you sold, it's just one. You will see a number there, but it will be very high. So this number is a very good indicator of how well a product selling on Amazon, if the BSR is less than weren't a thousandth, that's quite good. It means that the book is selling a few month. The closer to one, the better. Because it means there is selling quite a lot of co-pays. But this means also that there is a big competitor out there against your book. So in this case, if you see here 766, it means that this book is doing really well. So it's good for them, but no good for you. Because if you want to publish something similar, you will have this guy to compete against. And is 354 five-star ratings. So maybe leave that niche or just come up with something a little bit different to narrow down your niche. So is it a competitive market? To establish? If it's a competitive markets, you need to look at a few things. So as we've seen, the number of positive reviews that the competition is important, and also the quality of your competitors book. Do they have really lovely covered the sign for somebody? They look really professional. Add this the signs similar between the books. And can you make you book stand out in any way? You also need to check the books review. This is something I do as well because it gives you insight on what the customers like and dislike I'm looking for in a particular type of book. So what are they saying? Do they wish something was included or excluded from the book? To the wish the book was larger or smaller asides, maybe they wished a planner was updated or add more blank pages, so something else. So look at the reviews and see if there is anything that you can improve on the existing books. And this is a good way to give the customers what they're really looking for. So it goes some homework for you. Again. So you need to follow this for validation steps for each of the keyword, that idea, list and try your best to decide if they are low, medium, or high competition keywords. So, for example, cat notebook is a high competition keyword because there are 50 thousand plus books of this with this keyword. So if you have obtained, you have about four to five low or medium competition keywords, then you can carry on with your book idea. If you only find high competition keywords, then maybe it's best to leave that idea or find a different way, like narrowing down in the niche, like I showed you with a Siamese cat for example. And otherwise, if you can't do that, then just leave that idea and go back to your list that you did at the beginning and pick another one and start again. Basically. So this exercise may seem very long and there's say, a little boring. But it will allow you to both categorize your keywords according to how competitive they are and validate your book idea at the same time. So you would know for sure if you should carry on, oh, scrap this idea and start afresh with a new one. In the next lesson, I will give you an example where we go the Amazon website and Chrome. And I will give you an example of this keyword idea validation because it's, I think it's nicer to also see this inaction as well. So I see you in the next lesson.
6. Keyword and Idea Validation on Amazon: Hey there, welcome back. So in this lesson, I'm going to show you in a practical way what I talked about in the previous lesson. So we are in the Incognito window and we are going to go to the book's Department. And I'm going to stay with the gardening get dinning journal. So the first question that we asked before was people already searching for this type of book in this elected niche? And as you can see here, they're already keywords in the dropdown menu, which means that people have looked for gathering juno and also for Canada in general notebook. So that's the first question answers and he said yes. And then what we want to do is to check paperback because we're not interested in and covert or Kindle editions. They wouldn't be our competitors. So we have here our results. And some of these are actually books with content. So we can ignore those. We can see here. So the other question was, is there a ready market for your chosen niche? And there is a market because we can see here, some of these books are, seem to be low content books like this first one. And then there's another one here, and another one here. This one as well. So there is a market for these books and is the Mac market acting? So we need to look at the best seller ranking. So let's have a look at this first one. If we go into the book details, we can see here there is a number of 47 and some things. So this book is doing quite well, actually means is selling quite a few copies per month. Which means there is a market for it, but also it could be a competitor if you want to publish a similar book. It also as 87 ratings and they're quite good. They're almost all 5-stars. So this book is doing quite well. So this could answer the question if it's a competitive market. But of course, this is just one of the books. So we need to look at a few examples. But it could be a little bit of competition here. And also, if we look at the book cover, it looks quite nicely done as well. And of course, you can look at the ratings and see for somebody to end three-star reviews if there is something that customers would have liked or didn't like about this book or something that could have been added. For example, as I was mentioning before. This one here, for example, was looking for spaces. Space to include the garden layout. And it looks like this, this book didn't have it. So as you can see, these reviews can give you an idea. What, what else you could add to give a better product to your customer. Sample. So we can look at a different book. Let's see this one here. So, so guttering journal, gathering slope book. This one is not doing as well as the previous one. See, BSR is quite high, but he has one 5-star ratings. So someone lighted. It's also been in the market for awhile because sometimes they don't have a good number here, but it's because they haven't really been out there for that long. We can try and see if there is another example. This one here, for example, garden Juno. So this one as quite high number, BSR number. And it's been actually out for a while. So maybe the book isn't. Just note though in that, well, people are just not liking it. Let's see if there is another one. My garden planner. So this one this one is doing all right. It's been out for a while and he's got 382 thousand something BSR. So it's a case selling a few copies per month. And as far as the covariate looks quite nicely done as well. It's got 18 for start, so that's quite good too. Greenwich emperor children as well. And daily planner. Interesting. So, so basically you get the idea. There is our gathering, Juneau for kids. It doesn't have any reviews and is go quite a high number and the PSR, so this means it's not really doing that well, unfortunately, maybe there's not much demand for this. Ok. So as you can see, maybe you can do a set specific for gathering Junior for kids. But it might mean that is a huge demand for this type of book. So it's no worth for you using your time to, to do, to make one of these books when people are not really wanting to buy it. And then there is a house plant that care Juno. So this one doesn't have any Review. And he has quite a big number here in the bestsellers rank. But if you look at the publication date, is quite recent. So maybe, yes, and at the time, really to get any sales yet. So it's good to look at the at the publication date as well. All right, so this was just to give you an idea of how to go about searching and validating your keywords in your ideas. And you can do that with each one of you keywords and then assigned either a low, medium or high competition to your keywords. So for this one, I will probably say is a medium competition keyword. Let's see if we tie for kids. So here you can see there are a few results. In fact, we have thin thousand results. And you can see, you can look at the cover again to see if they're professionally looking. This one-year looks quite nice. And again, you can open a few these, this one actually as 55 ratings, five-star. And let's see at PS. So it's not too bad either. So this could also be a medium to high competition keyword, for example, because you go lots of results here. And some of them are TriStar, although some of them and know exactly what we're looking for. But basically this is the way to go about this research and categorize your keywords and validate you, you book idea. Alright, so in the next lesson, I will show you how to use free keywords, research tools.
7. Free Keyword Research Tools: Hey there, welcome back. So in this lesson, I'm going to show you a couple of PHP keyword research tools that can be useful for your keyword research. And by using these free tools, you can save some time. Now, I want to show you this after I showed you the longer way. Because it's nice for you to understand the principles of how to do your keyword research. So if you're going to have these tools available, you can still do your research. So the two free tools I'm talking about, AMC, suggestion expander or AMC for our American friends. And this Amazon quickly. So the AMC suggested an expander is a Chrome extension and it will expand the number of keywords. And on the Amazon search bar, this needs to be installed in your Chrome browser, but it's very easy to do and I will show you how to do it. And the DS Amazon quick view is also a Chrome extension. It also needs to be installed and it will allow you to see the books information without opening a new window. So that book details I showed you before, you can see it without actually going into the book. So let's have a look at these tools and how to use them. Alright, so if you type AMC suggests an expander, give you some results here and you can just click there. And because I've already installed it, it says Remove from Chrome. But if you haven't got this in your Chrome, then it will tell you, give you the option to install it in your Chrome. And here are some examples and tell you a little bit how it works. So it will generate more keywords basically. So if we go into a new Incognito window, you will see this icon here. Am zed suggestion expander. If you don't see the icon here, if you go to manage extensions, you can switch it on. And you can choose. Somewhere here, allow in Incognito because sometimes this is off. Any won't show in your window. So if you switched on, you will see it. So what happens is if you type gardening, Joe, No, you will see appearing these boxes as well. So you have keywords before, Keywords after. So basically it gives you an extended version of your dropdown menu with the keywords in it. And it gives you more options as well when you searching for your keywords. So some of them you can't reuse because Journal binders is nothing to do with a local the books, but you might find more keywords options in here. So this was the AMC suggested expanded. And now let's see. The other one. I've searched for this before. So here it is. So it's the same thing. You search for it, you click on it, and then I have it already. So says remove, but just say that you wanted to add it to your Chrome. And this, let's go back to Amazon. This should be this one here. So let's go back to the books. Basically what it does is it allows you to see the product details. First of all, you would get this little square here where it says the BSR number. And then if you over, over the book, you will see the details. So you will see the bestsellers rank. And if you want details, publication, publication date and all that. So you don't have to actually open this page. Of course, if you want to have a look at the reviews, you still have to go into the page for the book. But if you want to have an idea of just the bestsellers rank and publication date. And then you can just hover over the book and he will tell you. So this was another one here before. It is. So you see you have this information without actually going and opening every single one of them. Okay, so these are the two free tools that you can use and that will save you some time. There are some paid tools as well, but I'm not going to go into those here because these ones are quite good. And especially if you're starting off, I don't think you need to spend a lot of money in paid tools as well. Alright, so in the next lesson, we'll see how to choose your keywords.
8. Choose The Right Keywords: Hey there, welcome back. So in this lesson we're going to talk about how to choose the right keywords for your books metadata. So you might not know this, but the use of keywords is not restricted to the seven keywords slots that you have. When you upload your book. You can add keywords throughout your metadata. You can sprinkle them all over your metadata. And since it is difficult to find only low competition keywords, you can use a mix of low, moderate, and high competition keywords. Of course, try to find as many possible low competition keywords, but you can use a mix of them. A word of warning. There is such a thing called keyword stuffing, which happens when you use a lot of keywords in your book's title, subtitle and description. And Amazon really doesn't like this. So I would advise you against state. And also the title that you assign, your metadata has to be the same as the title, the URL in your checkbook. Otherwise, Amazon won't grant you permission to publish it. So if you write a bunch of keywords in your book's title, it doesn't look professional. I'm cheap and nasty. So I would advise you to use yes, use keywords in your title, but be careful how you use them. So how do we make keywords and more effective? Amazon, we find additional keywords within your entire books metadata. So remember that list of keywords you generated as your homework. Now you can put that to good use. So choose about 12 keywords from your list. Tried to add about half of this amount as a low competition keywords. And if you couldn't find the list five low competition keywords, remember that maybe is a good idea to leave that book idea and then use your medium competition keywords and then maybe one or two high competition keywords. So you want more lower competition keywords because that way the book can be discovered much easier so people can start discovering your book. And then as you sell more you book, we rank better and higher and we'll have a good chance to be discovered even when people are using high competition keywords. So you can choose, as I said, some keywords for the book title. As I mentioned this, the book title has to be exactly the same as the title peers on your book. But the subtitle can be different. So again, don't add too many keywords on your subtitle either because in my look on it as well. But you can add a few more keywords. Would you subtitle? So if you have, for example, a title, this is the father of one of my local textbooks, is a planner and is called the Let's be protective. As a subtitle, I wrote a planner for creative people. So we have keywords like Planner and creative people, which add to the overall keyword. So again, keep, try to keep this up. Something natural as well. Then you have the seven keywords you can use, and you can maximize these keywords as well. So I will look at your keyword list and combine them. Combined together similar keywords, and then write this longer keywords would not come us. So let's have a look at the example. So in your list of keywords, you may have gardening, Juno, gardening, logbook, garden for kids, gardening, mother-daughter. Say, if you want combine, to combine these, you can write gathering journal for kids, mother-daughter look book. So no comas. And you can use all the words. Of course, you can insert keywords in your book description, but again, make sure that takes sounds natural and not just a bunch of keywords follow each other. When writing your books description makes sure to add a captivating headline, a paragraph outlining the benefits of your book, and possibly a list of feature, some HTML formatting. And don't forget to add a call to action at the end. That's always a good idea. To use the HTML. You don't need to be a programmer, so don't panic. Have you can just do it very easily. I will show you, you can head over to this page and I will show you the page. And I will put a link in the resources. So you can just go there. And it's really simple to do. And then you for mature description there and you're good to go. So let me show you how to do this. So this is the page I was telling you about when you click on the link or at this address. And there's a little description here on how to use this. And what you do, Sayyaf my description here. And you'll give it his message is okay. And then you can formats yo descriptions. So this one, you can give it a heading. So it's the bigger and involved. And then just Sprite and start describing your book and write what you will find. So this one could be a bullet list. And then again here, this one can be, it will at least, and I wrote what's inside as well. So some more features. I mean, so this another bullet list. And at the end, you can, for this bolt, for example, even in Italica if you like. So w1 line will look like this. And these are called to action. So you see you can format your book description quite nicely with this. And then once you finish and you have been done with it, you can click on Generate my code. And you can't really see it properly either. No way is it does this by if you click on copy code then has been copied. And what you do is you paste this in the book description when you're uploading your book on Amazon canopy website. So instead of writing u description there, you copy and paste this. And if you don't have it open at the moment, you can paste it in a Word document and then you can copy from their M-Pesa in your book description. Just make sure you know which one is which if you have different books. But that's all there is to it. Okay, so this is how you format your book description. And as you can see, it's quite simple to do.
