1. Introduction: Intro. When we start designing a logo, we often feel difficult to choose the type of logo to create it suitable to design a text-based or a symbol. Based logo, or even a combination logo. Actually, there is a client brief that can guide us in considering the type of logo. However, it's still confusing if we can't solve the client brief. So often, we are stuck and just scrolling through logo references on the Internet. Or we are just thinking about the visual you want to create, but still can find a suitable reference. In this class, we will learn how to choose the right type of logo. We will learn to explore the types of logo. There are many types of logo, e.g. logotype, wordmark, pictorial, abstract, and many others. We will also understand this type of logo characteristic pros and cons. Choosing the right of logo is very important for an entity can be a company or institution. Because each logo representative value product messages that you want to convey to the audience, e.g. property company logos as you simple houses, buildings, or heavy equipment. In contrast to fashion logo, they usually only used in the logo type of the brand name. A logo is also a link between a company and its consumers, institution and society. So in creating the logo, many considerations must be considered carefully. Therefore, creative thinking and brainstorming must consider and decide on the concept to be created. And we will practice making a logo from each type of logo that I mentioned earlier So, that friends can get an idea from solving the brief to choosing the right type of logo. And the hope is that with this class, you can choose the appropriate type of logo for each project. In essence, if we are faced with client brief, we will be more confident with every decision we make. I am Fathoni Ashari, let's learn to create logo together. 2. Why Must Be Careful In Choosing Logo: Why must be careful in choosing logo? As I previously mentioned, the logo becomes a bridge between the company and the audience. So when consumers seen the logo, they immediately thing about the company. However, the function of the logo is not only to be connecting link, but also to the company's identity. Companies have values and ideas and also have product or suffices to offer and all that can be conveyed in the form of a logo. On the audience side, a logo can represent the company's image. With a unique and memorable logo, the audience will recognize the company and its products or services. Moreover, added with a good consumer experience when using the product or service. So the right logo and a good product or service will certainly improve a good image in the eyes of the public. So that every product offer will get a positive impression. Unfortunately, suppose the resulting product is good, but the logos appearance does not match. which will affect the audience perception. o what determines whether The logo is good or not. It's the audience and consumers. Diverse audience. The audience is divers, heterogeneous across generation and has different references. Not all viewers will feel right within the logo. But as a logo designer, we can't focus on most consumer. An audience characteristic. Analyzing consumer and audience is inseparable from the role of demographics. That's why there are many consideration in determining the logo shape. E.g. age, culture, economy, level and other references are considered. To find out the demographics of the audience and consumers, we can further explore the client's brief that can be received from the client to analyze client brief. I have discussed in more fully in another video, I included the link in the description so that friends can visit it immediately. Competitors. Then the next consideration is the logos and design of the company's competitors and how the logo can appear different from its competitors. E.g. various social media logos choose the concept of symbol and colours that tend to be different if even though the services are similar Another example of various marketplace trying to display different logos even though they service are identical. So the concentration of the originality of the logo becomes very important. The logo should be designed based on the philosophy and ideas carried by the company. Also, every shape, color, and appearance reflects characteristic of your company. Unique and easy to remember. Different logo shape are important so that the audience can recognize them. However, people are increasingly exposed to various apps of the logo. Many logos have similar shapes, even though they move in different fields. So the logo competition is not only with competitors, but with existing logo shape. Creating a logo that is similar to another logo will be difficult to remember because the audience is difficult to distinguish your business logo from a logo that they known. In addition, if there is a similar logo, it is likely to be plagiarism and can be a legal process. That's why it is important to determine the type of logo. Because again, what determines the success of a logo is the audience and the community, the company brands is also from public perception. Meanwhile, we can't control people perception when they see our logo design, we just only designed logo with fully consideration, a good quality product and service, but not supported by a good logo and design may be difficult to develop. Also, a good logo not accompanied with a good product quality will get a bad perception in the eyes of the audience. In the next session, we will start in the types of logo that often encountered. So we can distinguish and categorize logo based on their autonomy. 3. Classify Type of Logo: Classify type of logo. To easily understand the type of logos we need to know the anatomy of the logo friends can pay attention to the slide on the side. There are two logo Logo (A) is text-based, while logo (B) combines text and particular shapes. The logo (A) is written as the name of a brand in a certain type of font. The part of logo in the form of writing can be called a lettermark. Meanwhile, if we pay attention to on to the B logo, in addition to writing, there is also a certain shape. We can call this shape a picture mark. The difference between the two logo is that logo A is dominated by Lettermark. When people see the logo, they will immediately read the texts. But the logo B is different because it consists of letter mark and a picture mark. People tend to focus on picture mark after looking at the picture mark section, then reading the brand name underneath. So people attention will be dominated by picture mark and lettermark that only explain the brand name. After understanding the anatomy of logo, what are the types of logos? Some logo designers and some articles on the Internet divided logo type into seven type. Even though these 7 logos are not standard it means that there are other types of logo out there. However, with these 7 types of logo, it covers most of the logo that we often encounter. Number one, wordmark, or we often called logotype. Wordmark logos in their application tend to only use custom fonts and usually write the name of the company or business name, then the phone use tend to be unique but still easy to read. E.g. is a font from Coca-Cola. Even though it uses a unique custom form, we can still read it even if only at a glance see. Some use clean fonts like Google and Yahoo, or some type of manufacturers like Lenovo, Sharp, Phillips, sony, Samsung, and etc. Monogram. The monogram logo basically still uses a text-based logo, just like the logotype. However, logo monograms tend to use the companies or business names initials, Writing initials is usually because the company has a long name, it is impossible to write the full name. Some examples of logos include IBM, CNN, HBO at HP, and EA. What is interesting if we look at the monogram logo is not only a custom font, but the font has been edited. E.g. the IBM logo has a horizontal line pattern that forms the letters IBM. This pattern is what makes the IBM logo unique. The CNN logo has also been edited composed of white and red lines and that continues from CNN writing. So in the important points in the monogram logo isn't the editing innovation of the letters. How about a logo that consists of only a few letters, but looks unique and easy to read. This pattern is what makes the IBM logo unique. The CNN logo has also been edited composed of white and red lines that continue to form CNN writings. So the important point in the monogram logo is the editing innovation of the letters. How about a logo that consist of only a few letters but looks unique and easy to read. Pictorial marks or symbol, pictorial marks, logo, or sometimes, people call it a symbol. In this type, the logo shape resembles an image. When we see a pictorial marks logo, we immediately think of specific image or picture. The most obvious example, is Apple, Twitter and WWF. Let's pay attention to the logo, the uniqueness of that logo based the concept of an apple image. The apple logo is unique because it has a bitten part. Our focus will be on the bitten part after seeing the whole logo. Next, the Twitter logo, the glance, the Twitter logo text and the concept of a flying bluebird. Then to be unique and easy to remember. put Twitter's values. Flying birds represent freedom and a burden that likes to tweet describes that everyone has the right to express their opinion on Twitter. The big concept of an image is also invertible. WWF logo The logo uses the concept of a panda animal. The concept of the panda form was chosen because WWF wanted a charismatic animal most loved by many people. And panda also shown that WWF is committed to protecting wildlife, including their habitats. Number four, abstract logo. At first glance, the abstract logo looks like a pictorial. But if you look more closely, the abstract logo doesn't resemble a particular image. We then think about a specific image concept, instead, an abstract logo. This is just a combination of shape to form a unique logo. Even though it is abstract, it certainly carries the values of an entity attached in the logo. Some examples of abstract logos can be found on mobile or desktop application icon such as Chrome logo, Microsoft Edge, Spotify, YouTube, or some vehicle manufacturers such as BMW, tesla, Toyota in many vehicle companies, logo use abstract logos, even though it doesn't use the concept of an image like a pictorial abstract logo has its own advantages. The advantage is that we are free to use any form. However, it is important to pay attention to simple shapes and not too complicated ones. Even though the form is abstract, it must come from a meaning that representing the company. Mascots. Mascot logo is a logo that tends to use illustration or image. In contrast to simple pictorial, it is still has strong image concept. Mascot logo can illustrate a certain characters that tends to be more complicated than the pictorial. Some example of Mascot logo are KFC, the logo uses an illustration of the face of an older man. However, the picture made into the logo have simplified shapes. illustrated are also not detailed and even tend to be simple. Another example is the HokBen logo, which uses mascot picture of boys and girls. The pictures are displayed in a simpler form and not look detailed The mascot logo is unique and makes it easy to identify the company. If we look at the illustration of old men wearingchef's clothes with a red background, What we have in mind cannot be separated from KFC. Mascot logo, suitable for attracting brand awareness to audiences of all ages. Primarily to influence a group, such as family or community, e.g. amusement parks use children by mascot to attract certain audience, then the child will take him to the playground with his parents. Number six combination mark. The logo in this type uses a combination of all of the above. It can be a combination of logo type and symbol or logo type and abstract. Creating a combination logo is suitable. If the symbol or abstract logo is less unique and still looks too narrow or mainstream because the logo type helps people who have seen the symbol or pictorial. People who see it will understand the name of the business or company. Companies that already have a pictorial logo or symbol, often still a combined it with a lettermark. However It's function is only to explain name only. Emblem. The last type of logo that tends to form an emblem mode, usually a combination of image and text. but packaged in circles squares resemble badges. The important point of this logo is to include the values brought by the institution or organization and then represented in the form of symbols, e.g. in the Oxford University logo. If you pay attention, it consists of logotype and pictorial packaged in circular badges. Logos like this are generally also in the uniforms of government institution. It could also be a company that has been around for a long time, but has not changed its logo because it has been deeply rooted in the community. E.g. a. Company that has a badges logo logo Starbucks logo has been in use since 1992. But in 2011, Starbucks simplified and logo by eliminating the logotype, although simplify, it still doesn't lose the feel of badges. Emblem logos are also often found in football club logos. So emblem logo tend to be more concern with values brought by the organization so that they are represented in symbol or pictorials, but are arranged like emblems, or badges 4. Simplify the Logo: Among the seven types of logos, we will simplify them into three types. We will start in this three types of logo more deeply in the following lessons, we will simply into logo type, logomark, and logo combination. Logotype is a text based logo. It can be custom font or the initial company's name with a pattern. Then the next step is logomark. Here, it can be a pictorial or abstract logo, because pictorial and abstract tend to have similarities. The difference is that pictorially represent an image, while abstract represents shapes with particular value or meaning. Then the last type of logo is a combination logo. Combining logotype with a pictorial or abstract logo. Before we studying these three types of logos. We will learn more about the classification of logo shape. The logo shape that we often encounter can be categorized into several categories. Some are simple, some are complicated. Some use only basic shape, and some use illustrations. Each classification of logo shape has its own advantages and disadvantages. So when we want to create a logo based on the client requests, we already know the characteristic of the logo shape that will be made. There are three logo classification form basic shape, picture mark and letter mark OK. Let's review. Friends can pay attention to the collection of logos on the side. The collection of logos can be classified based on their shape. The first is that basic shape. The shape of the logo resemble from basic shapes such as circles, squares, angles, star, and others. The combination of several shapes into a more complex object. The advantages of this logo shape than to be simple, Usually takes the philosophy of an object but has the value contained in it. E.g. the circle shape conveys the dynamic nature. The rectangle represents solid, well, the triangular represent hope, progress and development. However, competitors logo in basic shape has been widely used. Moreover, the logo with the basic shape tends to have broad meaning. And it is difficult to explain the meaning and values associated with the inherent identity. Example of logos that use basic shapes. Our Microsoft, YouTube, YouTube Music and Adidas. They are only composed of view combination of basic shapes. Microsoft only consists of four square with different colors, YouTube and YouTube music to a combination of circles and squares. Picture marks. The logo shape, resembled a similar tone, the real object, The logo takes the concept of imitating objects representing the company. It can use a combination of steps to form an object. It can also be an illustration of image. And it at first glance, we will know if the logo imitates a particular object. In contrast to basic shape picture marks display complex shapes, so they no longer only consists of basic ones. A logo in the form of a picture mark, will easily describe the meaning attached to the identity. Picture mark will also be easy to distinguish from competitors so that the shape of this logo will be easier to find its own identity. E.g. the apple logo uses the concept of an apple image Twitter with the concept of a flying bird And the most obvious picture mile identify is KFC with illustration of an old man, Lettermark is logo in typographic form using letters or writing that is easy the right thing, usually use certain types of fonts that are rare or a friend only use on the logo. The advantages of this logo are that it immediately mention to the company's name and can be read directly. So that the audience can immediately understand and easily remembered the name of the company. In applying this letter mark, the font type is divided into the standard font and not standard font. Approaching the standard font can be said to use general font that are easy to read. In comparison, the fonts are not standard like fonts of handwriting or fonts that have been edited. Example of companies that use this logo consists of Sony, Google, and Yahoo, which only uses custom fonts with color innovation. Meanwhile, there is a Grab. IBM, CNN, and ABC also applied a letter mark, but experience additional pattern. But remember that the logo with a lettermark only relies on the type of font used. So it must be highly considered when choosing a font are using it, because if you use common fonts, it will tend to be ordinary and lack value. In the next session, we will learn the advantage and disadvantages of each type of logo, logotype, logo mark and combination. 5. Characteristic Logotype Logomark and Combination Logo: Characteristic logotype, logo mark and combination logo. In this lesson, we will learn more about the logo pros and cons. There is a logo type, logo, mark, and combination logo, so that we consider what type of logo we will make following the client brief, We start with the logotype. Logo type, pros and cons. A logotype has a strong identity because it uses a company or business name so that people who have seen the logo can immediately read the business name. Then how we package custom fonts to be unique compared to existing logos. In terms of uniqueness, a logotype has a greater opportunity to make it look different. One way to use a unique font, such as handwriting, script and calligraphy, e.g. the Coca-Cola logo as a custom font that tends to be like handwriting. But we must be careful in making logotypes with a clean font because it will look general and mainstream. E.g. logotypes with sans serif, Helvetica Roboto or ghotic fonts are often found in everywhere. The logotype as simple characteristic and focuses on the company name. Wherever this logo is display, people will read in the company's name so that people will be aware of the company's existence and lift brand awareness. The weakness of this type of logo is that it requires repeated experiment when writing custom fonts, we must consider the distance between fonts, colors, thickness, corners, strokes. So it can do it quickly because if the font looks familiar and mainstream, it will make the logo the same as ordinary logo time. The next disadvantage of the logo is that it can only display the name and company initials. It cannot display symbols are pictorial that reflect the company's value or product. So when people see the logo, they only knew the company's existence without knowing more about what product and service the company offer. The next disadvantage is that the logotype is less flexible when placed in various aspect ratios. For example, logotypes will be difficult if icons are used in mobile application or website with limited space, especially if the company's name is too long. logomark pros and cons. The next step of logo is logomark. Based on a symbol of abstract with logomark, we can manipulate to express brand personality from the company. Namely, combining some often the ideas represent in the from can be a pictorial or abstract. Therefore, the more unique and different logo, the easier the audience remembers. Another advantage of using logomark is that it is easy to place in various aspect ratio, e.g. the application Icons need than to have an aspect ratio square. Another example is placed on a website or packaging. In addition, it tends to have a square size to be more flexible if we zoom in or out. But it's that it is difficult to make an abstract or pictorial set that is unique and easy to remember. Because often, when making a logo, find similarities with the existing logo Combination of Logo Pros and Cons We already know each of the pros and cons of logo types and logomark, then the question might arise, why not combine the two types of logos? This type is a convenience and logo. A combination logo type and logo max. Of course, there are many advantage if we make a combination logo, e.g. you can show the company's brand identity through pictorials are abstract and are explained through the company's name. The problem of common or mainstream logo shape can be overcome with included company names, but the weakness of the logomark and the logo size even bigger because it has to load the symbol and logotype. It will be impact the flexibility of the logo when placed in several media. The use of logo combination can be optimal for advertising media such as billboards with a broad space. But when placed in a limited space, it will be challenging to manage. Especially if in zoom out, the logo size can be very small. And worry if there are parts that are not visible. 6. Different Type Different Purpose: Number six, different type, different purpose. In this session, we will discuss each type of logo, not all types of logo are suitable for each company. And then we need many consideration to decide the type of logo we will make considering that the companies has different products, different values, and branding plan. Therefore, choosing the type of logo may be different for each logo that we will make. Okay, We will start with the logotype. As we know that the characteristic of logotype can only write down the company's name and initials. Then the primary weapon is the uniqueness of custom fonts and color selection. Besides, a company that uses logotypes does not have a long and easy in this spell. E.g. companies such as Yahoo, Google, or maybe Acer or Lenovo. Sony mention the name with just one word, which is easy when people speak and not use many letters. Logotype tends to be suitable for for newly pioneered companies. Few people know the company's name and Maybe do not know the products offered before. The point is to make people read often as much as possible about the company's name. Example, are fashion brands, body care, finance, and law firms. Why? Let's review e.g. Fashion brand often uses typography because the audience wants to understand who produces these clothes. If the company is well-known, the audience assumes that the quality of the clothes is good. But suppose that the brand has never been known. In that case, it is an opportunity to get exposure because audience has read the logo types from the brand's name, Even though new brands in fashion, many dare to write the brand name on the clothes. Because the opportunity to expose isn't that the audience rate in the brand. In addition, adding abstract, visual, or pictorial is rarely done when the brand is new. Logo type is suitable for use in industrial fashion, Especially if the brand is written on the label, There is a sense of pride when news, there is a sense of pride when used. Many pens or fashion target, luxury, magnificent, and elegant image. The brand is often used to signify the user social class. For cloths were wearing. As long as carrying high class brands, It will represent their lifestyle. The logo type is also suitable for use if branding, the front prioritize, the companies good name the company's name is much as possible to be embedded in the consumer mind in a positive image. Absolutely. So that whatever the product produced by the company will gain consumer trust. The company is usually, at this stage, a large company with many products. The another example is manufacturing and technology companies, e.g. the Sony, Samsung, Toshiba. Let's say Sony they have many product from cross-category, sony smartphone, camera or PlayStation. But not only that, Sony also engaged in a film, cinema and software. There are still many household electronics, maybe using the abstract logo or pictorial logo. It can be the debate irrelevant in some of its products. To legitimate the quality of each product, the selection of logotypes makes more sense to use. It also happened to Samsung, one of the leading manufacturer of smartphone Tv's and electronic equipment. Beside that, samsung also produce microchip, processor and memory. Then prioritizing company's name or essential than a visual logo. You might choose logomark for. Remember, logomark can be abstract or pictorial. The most significant strengths is the logo shape. The pictorial logo relies on symbols representing the company's values, while in the abstract consist of several ideas that are visualized simply. Logomark is also used by companies that want to use shapes or an image to become the company's identity. Other companies will consider using the concept of the same shape or image because of the potential for plagiarism or similarities. An example is WWF, which takes a pictorial of panda animal, has begun the identity of the organization. So when other companies want to use Pandas pictorials, the logo must be very different, even though they are from the same animal. It is the same as Apple because it's too strong in the audience mind. So companies think again, if they want to use a similar Apple, apple shape as a logo, logomark is also suitable for growing companies that want to re-brand their logo. Maybe in the companies use only a logotype or a combination of logos initially. But after many audiences and consumer companies will find new insight and want to focus on those insights. E.g. Twitter in 2006 only use wordmark, then in 2009, Twitter chat and the logo to an illustration of a bird with small wings. Year later, they simplified the bird logo into a flat logo with one color. Maybe. Because Twitter develop by bringing value such as speech freedom. And then in 2012, the Twitter logo rebranding with a different from than before. When rebranding, companies often use logomark to simply of the logo, the logo, more contemporary fresh and modern. And also logos can adapt to mobile applications and websites or appear in the video example that we often encounter on smartphone application icons, it tends to use a logo with as an aspect ratio square, so it is appropriate to use it as a logo icon. In addition, the logo must still look different and easy to remember because it is side-by-side with the logo of other applications, you might use a combination logo if. Then what about the logo combination? Logo combination are suitable for any company or organization, whether a new company or a company is already sustainable. New companies, especially in the company, still need a lot of exposure. logo combination or a solution if you are still confused about choosing a logo type or a logomark because he can display in the brand identity through visual and text companies that apply a combination logo, often only displaying the symbol or typography. Adjust it according to your needs. If it occupies a limited space, the logo is usually only included with one of the symbol or the typography. Inland with this, there is also a responsive logo. Responsive logos are often used by companies that use a combination of logos to abbreviate the logo. Can the logo be shortened? The next session, we will create a logo with various types. We will make five logos, one logotype two logomark and to logo combination. We will learn practice from solving creative briefs and brainstorming to help find concept ideas. 7. Logomark Project: Logomark project. In this session, we will practice making a logo with the logomark type. We will create a logo for two companies, Gatotkaca airlines and Garangan Motor Again, this is, this is a brand is only fictitious and only for practical proposed in this class, We've got two creative briefs we'll solve and then find a visual to use as a logo. The first logo is Gathotkaca Airlines. Gatotkaca Airlines is domestic flight between island in Indonesia. The name Gatotkaca comes from comes from a puppet character in Indonesia or you can say Javanese mythology. The character is famous for having extraordinary strength and one of his streaking abilities is flying anywhere. In addition, following the geography of Indonesia, which is an archipelago, So that the gathotkaca airlines fleet can become an interconnected transportation between islands like Gatotkaca, abilities, flying anywhere in product and positioning. Gatotkaca Airlines served domestic and international flights. Whoever using domestic flight that are suitable for people who frequently travel or work between islands. The company's goal is to provide transportation that is comfortable and safe but still affordable for everyone. Because the orientation of affordable, the audience target middle to lower economic status, such as general public students and workers. Its advantages include affordable prices and a fleet that continues to grow and reach all airports Indonesia. So the keyword I chose was Gatotkaca, which can fly visualy with the wing attribute here. Or it could be from the crown he was wearing. Then another keyword came from positioning that, that the fleet would connect the island in Indonesia. Then we will create the visual by combining wings, crown, and plane. We can sketch some example of logos, e.g. on the sketch is the wing plane and crown. At this stage. Imagination and creativity are needed to combine several forms into a single logo. Some of these parts can directly combine into example like this, even though it's still in the sketch stage, it's an effort to make the logo already have a clear philosophy. The philosophy departs from the shape of the plane and the crown of Gatotkaca. Describe how this fleet will operate. Of course, they providing the best service for consumer and the community then Then, the back depicts the plane's tail tail fin and represent the wings of of the Gathotkaca. Of course, the philosophy adopted is that this fleet can fly everywhere. Then the head of the plane separated from the wings to represent Indonesia, archipelago country, which is separated from each other but can be connected via transportation. And the Gathotkaca airlines fleet will be the liaison. In the digital process, it is highly recommended to use to help off the golden ratio so that the logo looks proportional and professional. In the second project, of the the logo mark, we will create a logo for the Garangan company, a new manufacturer and engaged in electric vehicle, especially electric motorcycle. Garangan comes from the Javanese language to refer to the weasel animal. And Garangan is also the name called the Playboy men on there. For your information, Javanese is one of the biggest local language in Indonesia. So the Javanese people calling the Weasel animal with Garangan. Garangan can move agile and fast and pass any obstacle from climbing trees to jumping from the branch to another. The philosophy that the company is trying to adopt to represent its products, namely Garangan motor. The motorcycle product positioning target motorcycle users who prioritize performance, speed, and body models. that look fierce Targeting male users are young people who want an electric motorcycle but don't lose the field of combustion motor. In addition, it's still brings the advantages of being environmentally friendly because of the electric motorcycle, fast, cool and environmentally friendly. The desire of logo reference is the logo mark and an emblem on the motorcycle body. So we can take keyword, namely electric motorcycle, which can be represented visually by electricity Then, of course, adopt a ferocious animal with a firm, cool, and sharp design. for visual I chose a fierce head and the combine it with a flash of electricity forming the eyes and mouth Then choose a sharp and from to describe the masculine vibe because the audience will mostly targeted men for new digital process in this logo, it is better to use the golden ratio because the shape is not too complex and needs a proportional shape. The result may be like this and if applied in the motor, body it will be like this. More or less. 8. Combination Project: Combination logo project. In this session, we'll practice making a logo with a combination logotype. We will create a logo for two brands, namely happy zoo and bayar. Okay. Once again, a disclaimer if the company name is ficticious and only for this class, for the happy zoo, we assume the name of the zoo whose logo So we will make, While Bayar, we consider a virtual wallets and fees for various payments. These two logo use a combination logo with the consideration of a new product. Not many people know and the company people need more exposure, the name and logo and they carry. Okay, let's start with the happy zoo. Okay, about the company, happy x2 is x2 and also tourist destination. Happy Zoo is a zoo and also tourist destination The happy zoo has a large collection of animals approximately 200 animals that are well cared for and manage. The happy zoo is safe and friendly to be visited anyone. In their positioning. Happy zoo refers to target families who want to travel to in the zoo. Usually the child is with the family member or school children who go on to study tour and make the happy to destination. So it can say that the target audience is the general public, but it is more targeted at school children and family members. From the description of the brief, we can create a logo from a happy zoo letter with a combination of animal symbols. However, since the target audience is mostly school children and family members, need a form that tends to be flexible and easily recognized by children. We can combine the letters happy zoo animals for the initial sketch, for example. Each letter represent and animal symbols. A Giraph represents the letter H, the letter a, resembling the shape of a pinguin. When the letter P represents a panda, the letter Y is depicted with with a dolphin's tail. In this logo, it might be difficult to apply the golden ratio in every part of the logo. So this logo does not have to use the golden ratio. The important thing is that it looks proportional. For the second logo, we create a logo from Bayar company. Bayar company is engaged in finance tech. In the form of digital wallet that can a digital wallet that can use to make payments at various merchants. The name buyar comes from the Indonesian language, which means pay, make payment for e-commerce, food, electricity, internet, ticket, and even transfer to a bank by top-up balance. Almost a daily transaction can cover with digital wallets or service. The product offer to the audience is digital wallet and that can serve any payment, especially daily needs. So you can make payment with only one application. And the company's goal, of course, is to become the largest digital wallet anyone can access. The positioning desire when the company is targeting an audience with a middle, low-income economy because their number isn't the highest comparable high-income. In addition, most of the transaction or daily necessities advantage of buyer is that it does not have admin fees for interbank transfers and does not have admin fees at separable selected merchants. So that is strong reason for the lower middle-class to use paid service. The principle is easy to use and the funds both benefit from the transaction. From the brief description of both, we can find keyword for the visual. We can use digital wallet keyword, which is symbolized by the wallet, and both benefit from the visual smile. Some sketches that we can make to throw wallets are liking this. And we will move from the sketch into a digital process since paying its new service and we'll have a new local people are not familiar with the name and logo in such condition, choosing a logo combination is good choice. We can add in the word bayar next to the logo. A combination of logo and letter mark will make it easier for customers to select a payment method compared to the competitor service in order to not that wrongly, apart from the logo, the letter mark must also be legible. A combination of local n letter mark will make it easier for customers to select payment methods compared to the competitors service. In order to not their wrongly apart from the logo, the letter monk must also be eligible. 9. Logotype Project: Logotype project. In this session, we will practice creating logo with a logotype friends. You can see that they are already two creative briefs from two different prints in the presentation. First, a disclaimer, if the brand in this project is only fictitious and made only for demo purpose in this class, okay, in the first brand is walkstreet a new brand engaged in the apparel sector. Its main product, our shoes and sneakers for daily needs. First, we review the creative brief to search for keyword, and then look for a visual logo In about the company, we can see that Walktreet provides various types of shoes ranging from casual and formal to sports. and suitable for use in urban areas or for multiple events. Then the chosen positioning is family shows suitable for use in the street, and of course, suitable for all family members. Positioning is crucial because it determines the font's character to be created. E.g. easy, rigid firm or flexible? The goal is provide shoes that are comfortable for everyday use, but appear with contemporary design. This means that there are many choices. So consumer can be more confident when using it. children to parents are in the audience because of its positioning as a family shoes. As for the advantages, we get a low price, water resistant, lightweight, and anti-slip, we can look for some keyword for logo visual from the brief that we have reviewed. Some of the keywords are luxuries, walkstreet As a brand new and not widely known. Then for everyday use and comfortable to use, meaning the font is flexible and not stiff. Furthermore, families so that the fon't must be easily to read, especially their children. And lastly, the font must appear confident written on the shoe. Then we can start drawing font like this The logotype uses a font that has been edited in certain parts. For example, the letter of the foot is similar to the foot that is stepping. Then on the letter street It is intentionally erased with a straight line indicating that measures can be taken to the street anywhere. it can use to work in any street of the city. Then if you use it on shoes, the visual will be like this. 10. Conclusion: I can't believe we are in the last session of this class, I want to share some tips and summary of what we have learned. Choosing the type of logo is important We can't just chosen the type of logo we like without looking at the creative brief. Creative brief serve as guidelines to facilitate our brainstorming process and decision to choose the type of logo arises. Because often the brainstorming process that we have done in this class, it, it is hoped that friends will be helped with insight into choosing the type of logo so that our brainstorming process can be sharper. We are more confident in choosing the type of logo. Then what needs to be remembered in addition to choosing the type of logo is to, is to try,is to train creative skills in finding the forms or concepts raised How a logo can attract the audience is, and it's easy to read and look different. How the combine several objects so that they become a logo mug that has meaning. And also how the audience can read the logo. Then keep paying attention to the proportional of the logo. Often the process of digitizing the logo without regard to distance, shape, and size. So we can use the help of them, the golden ratio. So that average size and distance still looks proportional and professional. Although not all of course have to use the golden ratio in the making. And it will be better if the logo still look professional Lastly, don't forget to test in the logo with a demo in several media, such as logos on product packaging, logos on mobile applications, or logo on billboards, stationary, website. It is also necessary to compare the logo with competitors companies to test the identify of our logo Isn't that a resemblance or does it look different? I'm Fathoni Ashari.
