1. Introduction: Friends, welcome to my online class. In this class, we will learn how to make a pictorial logo or logo that uses visual from object representation. One of the many logo I like the most is the logo from the object representation. That is logo that uses the shapes of an object such as animal, a plant or object around us. We can see the following logos. Apple Company uses an apple visual. Twitter uses a blue sparrow bird. Shell oil companies uses a shell and Pumas sportwear uses a Puma animal, and WWF uses a Panda visual. The uniqueness of the logo is that a company's value and a philosophy can be represented by just one object. The agile and strong Puma animal represent the philosophy of the sportwear product from Puma. The Twitter logo of a bird flying up is related to the freedom of speech on Twitter. Suddenly people change to X, and the panda logo aligns with the WWF mission of persevering protected animal. So the logo is composed not by combining several shapes, but by looking for a representation of an object that aligns with a company's philosophy, vision and mission. This class will teach you how to make a pictorial locus and find an object representation that matches a company's philosophy and protect. What we learn, first, we will learn discuss material but pictorial logo or object representation more deeply. Second, we will learn to find the logo shapes from the representation of the object we choose. Third, we will practice directly making a pictorial logo. There are four pictorial logo that we will make. We will start each brief and also practice directly making the logo. I created this class to focus on understanding the material and practicing making logo. The practicion are very important because we are directly faced with cases. The more practice we have, the more insight we can gain. This class can enrich insight into making logos. Friend can have new methods when looking for all logo shapes. In Fathoni Ashari, I look forward to the next session. Thank you. 2. What is Pictorial Logo or Representing Object??: Hello friends, I'm thrilled that we can learn together to make a logo. But before we go to the practical session, it is essential to understand the material, the pictorial of logo. The goal is to get a clear picture of the pictorial logo or logo with object representation. In general, a logo from object representation is made using the shape of existing objects, such as animal, plants, flowers, fruit, or even inanimate objects. Companies that use this logo method will have a strong identity. They will not be easily copied or imitated by others. I don't need to explain this logo. Of course, this is the Apple logo. One concrete example of a logo that uses object representation. The company name is apple, and the logo is taken from the representation of the Apple fruit. So the logo visual is also in the shape of an apple. Of course, if it were only in the shape of an apple, its uniqueness and identity would not be strong enough. So the apple part was made as if it was beaten and cropped. So when you find the visual apple paten, it has become the identity of the Apple company logo. Let's look at the following example, the cell oil company. Shell is international oil and gas company. The company name is Shell, and the visual adopts the shape of a shell. Thus, the company name is also represented in the form of logo. And the shell shapee has become the identity of the shell company. To become a strong identity, the colors, red, and orange were chosen. Then one more example of following logo. Yes, just by looking at the logo, you already know that this is the Puma logo. Puma is currently one of the largest sporting wears manufacturers in the world, competing with companies like Adidas and Nike. We observe, the company name is Puma and uses a logo with a representation of Puma animal. Why is the logo representation or object representation interesting? Where do big companies like Shall Apple Twitter and CNBC use particular object to represent their companies. In short, the object can represent the company's values and it's easier for the public to recognize. And let's review it more in detail. We both know that the Bitten apple fruit has become an icon of the Apple company, for example, if another big company wants to use the name of Apple with Apple Fruit Logo, In that case, we'll undoubtedly lose in terms of brand identity. Even though the even though the shape of the apple is different from the apple bitten, it is still difficult for the company to introduce it to the audience. So what if a company wants to use the name apple, but still uses the visual logo of the apple fruit? One alternative is to change the name and add the differentiation to the logo. For example, you could use the name red apple. That way, we can find a red apple issue that is potentially easier to distinguish from the Apple logo. And more potential visual logo we can develop or we can find. The second advantage is that companies that uses visual pictorial logos or object representation will be more easily recognized and remembered by consumer and the audience who see them. Brand identity will be very strong because the Audience already knows the company name and the philosophy of the logo shape. It remains how the company tries to build a good name in the eyes of the public. But does the company name have too much with the object representing it? Of course not. For example, the Twitter logo uses a blue sparrow visual, even though the name is Twitter. Another example is CNBC Logo. Uses a visual representation of a peacock, and then WWF logo, which adopted the shape of Panda. The Panda hep was chosen because WWF wanted in an animal that was charismatic and almost like many people. And Panda also shown that WWS is committed to protecting animal, and then the habitat. We can learn that choosing a Panda animal object in its logo is because of the consideration that it represents the values and mission of WWF. The company values and mission are divine in an object, namely the Panda animal. From several examples we have studied, the main point this method is choosing a living object or object around us that can represent accompany vision and mission values. So the main substance that you want to display can be represent in its object. For example, the visual of the sun means a large and bright object that illuminates and helps life. Another object that contain water can mean cleaning and purifying. There are many objects or animal that we can adopt into the representation of object. For example, owls are often interpreted as intelligent, educational, diligent, and focus, and also Tiger and cheetah are often interpreted as fast, agile, and tough. Leaves are also often interpreted as healthy, natural, and environmentally friendly, and many other objects can still be seen from the concept. Then, what kind of company is suitable to use this logo? I don't think there are specific criteria for companies that are suitable for this logo, but we can see that the logo does not depict the product, but rather the company's value. Second, this logo is suitable for large companies and has a big impact on their customers. If a company that is still pioneering and already uses an object representation logo, it will be difficult to introduce its products and services. Third, the company name does not always have to be the same as the chosen object. For example, Twitter uses a part object. CNBC uses a Peacock and WWF uses a Panda. As long as we can simplify the object shape and have strong logo identity, at least, there is no similar logo shape even though the object is the same. Fourth, the advantage is that this logo is the easiest to apply in any medium, starting from the p icons and mockups to its products. For example, Apple and Twitter are easy to apply on Apple devices, and Twitter is easy to use as an icon. The most challenging thing is simplifying the object shape to find a strong identity because there are already many objects out there that have been made into the logos. It can be drain our mind when finding the right shape. And the next let's go straight to the practice session to further explore this method. 3. How to Find the Pictorial Logo Shape?: Friends, in this session, we will discuss the method for finding the shape of this object representation. The essence of a pictorial logo or object representation is to simplify a complex logo not only using the illustration for a certain animal for a logo, but it's also impossible to use a photo for a logo, right? And therefore, the first principle is to create a simple shape from the object representation. What is a simple shape like? A real example is that we can see the Twitter and Apple. Again, this is the real example in Pictorial Logo. It is easy to identify that the Twitter logo uses a bird shape and the Apple uses an apple fraud shape. What would happen if the Twitter use a bird illustration for its logo at the time? Absolutely, it wouldn't be like this and undoubtedly different from the logo we expect. The simple shape is changing a complex shape into a simple shape. The complex animal forms to simple but still easy identification. We can still guess the logos shape even when we first see it. Well, even though the shape is simple, finding a shape like this can be challenging. We can't make just any shape. Often the shape we find is already owned or similar to the other logos. To make it easier to find the shape, I have two methods, and let's discuss them one by one. The first method is moving the object. If the object of representation taken is an animal or moving object, we can use a particular pose. For example, a picture of Puma jumping so that it becomes the Puma logo. Then the bird on Twitter flies up. And another example, the WWF logo, which uses the pose of Panda walking. Of course, the pose taken can represent the company's values. A jaguar or cheetah takes a running position that depicts speed. First, identify roughly the movement that is the identity of the moving object. Combining simple shapes and identical movement will make it easy for people recognize the logo. So what if the object is still, such as fruit in intimate objects or plants? Friends can make a simple shape of the still object, but still include a distinctive part. For example, if it is a fruit is usually cut or sliced. Oranges and lemons are often display in pieces like this. We can also take a visual from the object if it is subjected to an action. For example, the innovation of the Apple bitten logo. It is certainly common if you only use the shap of an regular apple. Still, if the apple is bitten, the shape becomes unique. What if the objects such as flower and plants? Of course, each flower has different visual. Even if the flower has been used by another logo, we can still give it an action. For example, we can remove one of the petals or we can add other attributes. The angle can also influence finding a shape. With different angles, we can get different shapes, but they are still easy to identify. Point is that if the object is still, we can add an action to it, such as apple being bitten and orange being sliced or a flower losing its petals. And we can also take this shape from a different perspective. Taking from a different angle also applies to moving object that we have learned before. In the future, when we create a logo without realizing it on the Internet, there will be a logo similar to the one we made. It is okay if our logo is inspired by an existing logo, but we can't just copying exactly what with the existing logo on the Internet. Even though the representation object is the same, we still outsmart it from the pose of the movement. We can also make a differences from the perspective or angle, or it could be also the logo aspect ratio to the choice of color, and the point is that there are still many opportunities for us to develop logo, even though on the Internet, the object we chose has been used by another logo. In the next session, we will immediately practice making a logo. We will make a four logos, all of which use the object representation method. So how will I make a logo that is different from the existing logos? We will meet in the next session. 4. Practice Logo #1 Everest: Friends, we are entering the first logo practicion. In this session, we will discuss four logo briefs. We will briefly study these four briefs. Then after we discuss them, we will get the keyword that we will use to search for the visual. Why do we have to discuss the logo briefs? Analyzing the brief is so important. So we know about the entity or company whose logo will create and have imagination about the visual relevant on the company's values. In addition, the practice session letter, friends will be able to understand the logos that I will create. Friends can find out the origin of the choice of shape, color selection, and so on. Here are four brief that we will discuss, a logo from Everest Sport Equipment, a brief from eagle eye, a CCTV company, A logo pictorial from dronefly, a drone manufacturing company, and last is a pre from Zebrano, a piano school for children and teenagers. Okay, let's go straight to the discussion of the first brief. Our first brief this time is everest. As the name implies, we will take the visual mount everest. But before heading there, let's look at the description of the everest company. everest provides sport equipment that guarantees safety, including hiking and climbing equipment, and camping equipment and other sport equipment. The products offer include mountain bags, shoes, pants, jacket, safety workers, climbing equipment, and various sport equipment. The advantages of the everest product are that they are of a good quality and made with a precision. Everest products also prioritize user safety, so they are garnted and can be relied on when used. Even Everest products have values and principles that the user's sense of security when using them is the main thing. Then we move on to the disadvantages, namely considering the quality offered, Everest product tend to be expensive. Therefore, this becomes an obstacle for consumers because there are many other products that offer more affordable price. Then we move on to customers. Rest chooses to target consumers from the middle class, and namely those who already have an income, such as a professional athletes or workers who want to buy sport equipment. From this inside, the logo that we will create can represent the middle class, such as being simple, but elegant, and not to crowd it. Then we can move to the logal style. The logo we will create has a simply style. In addition, the logo will appear with a company name, so the logomark and the logo company name. Okay, friends, because we will create a logo representing the shape of mount everest. We will see some photos of mount everest. On the Internet, there are many pictures of moon everst from various angle. I think the shape of mount everest is different from each angle, right? So for this case, I just took a shape that makes it easier for us to imitate it. I took some photos here. In this case, we will use this photo, and we can simply this photo. And this is not too complicated right. In this session, we will practice making a logo from the everest company we discussed previously. I will try to sketch on paper to make it easier to find the shape. Friends, if you want to follow along who knows, the resulting shape differs from what I will draw. Friends only need to prepare a pencil, eraser, ruler, and paper for drawing. Okay. Okay, friends, let's go into the practical session for the first logo, the everest logo. Before drowing the logo, I made a square cut line, so that the logo I made letter would not be too long to the side and also not too long to the top. Not too wide horizontally or vertically. Well, I started using the photo ahead chosen earlier. I started throwing a simple logo from simple shape from everest using the photo ahead chosen. I took the initiative to throw two peaks of everest. The first on the right is higher than the one on the left. You can see on the right, the peak is higher and approaches the upper limit or ceiling on the square line, and you can see there are two peaks. And at the bottom, I made it like there is a three angle indicating that after everst, there is also another mountain that covers the peak of everest. So the main visual is the peak of everst. You can see that among the logo, there's something unique, namely in the middle, there's a triangle that separates the peak on the left and the peak on the right. Then the triangle becomes the focus point. So it will make the audience or everyone who see become focus in that direction. Next, I shade it to get a real visual of what the logo looks like when it is made. I shading them up again so that the sketching logo of the aversed logo. More or less like this. Then next, we enter the digitalization, namely transferring the sketch to digital format. Now we enter the digitalization. Friends, there are already photos that I have chosen, and I want to use the golden ratio principle. This golden ratio emphasize one particular focal or focus point that is center of attention, and I will explain its how to application. First, I enter the sketch result that I have scanned. So after I draw it earlier, I scanned the logo image that I had drawn earlier and entered it into affinity designer. Now, after the sketch image was imported, I took the initiative to find the focus point on the logo that I had drawn earlier using the golden ratio method. I focused on the peak of everest on the left. Friends can see the peak of Everest on the left is close to the focus point in golden ratio. So I use the principle. I use that principle. This means that the logo that I will make later has a focus point on the peak on the left on the left, and also the white angle in the middle becomes the focal or the focus point. Then I started drawing the shape according to the image I made earlier. I used the pan tool around first, meaning I drew two peaks at once. Then I edited the node to be pulled closer to the focal point of the golden ratio. And then I tighted up the corners that might look less proportional and needed to be fixed. I made a transverse side line so that every corner and every line that was made was not haphazard. So that the shape of the corners and logo look more proportional. Now, I make a t angle in the middle. I make it with a red line. The red line will help me make a white triangle in the middle, so it will be more or less like this. We have shaped everything starting from two peaks, then there is a mountain below, then there is a triangle in the middle. I hide the scan and hide the guideline so that we can see the shape of the logo or less like this. Next, I adjust the color. If there's still an outline, delete the outlines so that only the color of the shape remains. Then the shape of the logo, then the shape of the logo was more or less like this. I just fix some part, such as the corners being more curved. After that, I make the logotype, or I make the name everest. The name of the company I write under the logo. I'm still looking for the right font reference. More or less, the font uses the black font to make it more thicker, considering that this is a sport wear brand to make it look tougher and then clear and have strong vibe. Then I read below with sport equipment. So the golden ratio helps us to give space between the logo and the logotype between the logo and the company name. And I think the exercise of making the everest is finished and done. And we will meet in the next practice. 5. Practice Logo #2 Eagle Eye: Friends, I'm thrilled that we are still together in pictorial logo making practice session. In the second practice session, we will create a logo from Eagle eye. Like the previous section, we will discuss the logo brief first to get insight, keywords, and visual that we will look for later. Okay, let's get straight to the brief discussion. Eagle eye is a company that provides and install CCTV for various purposes from CCTV for homes, residents, and office to CCTV for traffic. The philosophy of the name Eagle eye is that it represents the equals very sharp eyes, which are used to see, even though the eagle is flying. The equals eyes are also very sharp when hunting prey and identify danger if the eagle feels threatened. From the proto coolumn, Eagle has various sensitify camera model according to their use. Eagle eye also install computer server for CCTV, networking and service centers. Eagle eye serves all types of CCTV installation and CCTV maintenance services. Then we moved on the advantage column. Eagle eye CCTV product have clear, sharp and good image recording quality. Eagle eye CCTV can also be rely on a various weather condition. Several features will provide alarm notification if there is suspicious activity, and CCTV can also be monitored from various devices. From this information, we can get a new idea that the eagle eye visual will later be visualized with a serious vibe and sharp eyes. In the disadvantaged column, we can see that the eagle eye brand is not yet widely known. So customers are still limited to install CCTV in offices or traffic lights. So we want to attract customer who want to install CCTV at home. So we can see in the customer column that Eagle Eye target home residents, those who want to install CCTV in their homes. Then the development of AI for face recognition or various offices on a small or larger scale. From the description above, the logo we will make letter represent the eagle eye. So all products features and advantages and disadvantages can be represented by the eagle eye visual. This time, we will practice the second logo, the Eagle Eye logo. In the previous discussion, we used the visual of the eagle eye of the eagle eye for this logo as the name implies the eagle eye is very suitable if we use the visual of the eagle eye itself. To find the visual, first, we can look for some eagle eye photos on the Internet. As a usual, I use a square line tool so that the logo is not to horizontal or vertical. In the Eagle Eye logo itself, I used the reference from the eagle eye that I got or the reference. So I immediately drew the shape of the Eagle eye from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. So the logo fills the square from the top right corner to the left corner. Then I draw a circle in the middle of the eyeball frame. Maybe more precisely the eyelid, not the frame eye. Then Then I draw another circle to the pupil, which gives the impression of a serious sharp case and the eyeball will represent the camera on the CCTV. Then I gave another innovation to the upper eye. So there was a part that was cut off, and then I shaded the eyelid. Then I also shaded the eye ball. I also shaded the pupil. The plan for this Eagle logo. The plan for this Eagle logo will use a color style like the Mozilla Firefox Logo. So it relies more on color gradation. So I immediately scanned the eagle eye logo, then I import it into the affinity designer software. I immediately drew with the pen tool. So I used the pen tool here to draw on the shape. The first shape I draw was the front eyelid. So it looked like there was an eyelid. But in the middle, there was a cut separating into two eyelids. To make it easier, I lowered the opacity of the scan image, so that the outline of the pen tool was more visible. Then I adjusted it so that the shape was proportion or proportional. After the front eyelid was finished, I moved to the back eyelid or on the upper right. Now, these eyelids will touch each other. And this red eyelid partially covers the eyeball so that the eyeball is not fully visible like that. This curved eyelid gives the effect of the eagles eyes looking fierce or sharp. This case is sharp according to the philosophy that I took from CCTVs always monitor objects. Next, I drew the eyeball using a circle, and this eyeball will also be a representation of the shape of the CCTV camera. In addition to the eyeball, there's also a pupil because the camera lens consist of layers of lenses. Next, I add a color. As I explained earlier, I will use a a color. According to the Eagle eyelids, the color I use is yellow or orange. Then on the eyelids, it's also yellow or orange. But on the pop of the eye, I give it a black color according to the color of the eagle eyes. And on the eye part, I give it a dark brown color. In general, the logo has been form I just need to re color parts that are not quite proper. I changed the direction of the gradation again, so that it blended with the pieces of the eyelids above. I also set the color of the eyeball so that the nuances are in line with the gradation on the eyelids. The logo will be more or less like this, the color of the eyelids is gradation of yellow and orange, and then the eyeballs are also brown is orange. Then the color of the eyes is dark brown, so are the pupil brown. Then to give a light reflection effect, I made a little white effect on the pupils. And that's more or less the logo of eagle eye. Next, we just add logotype below it. Next, we just added the company name or logotype below. And I adjust the position and also in the font. Choosing the right font that described for equals eyes look sharp and firm. This gaze is serious and sharp eyes. I choose the phone from Tahoma, I think with a black or bold font style, and this is roughly what the equal logo looks like. Friend, we just need to adjust the ratio between the logo and the logo type. Although using color gradation, it does not lose its simple nuance and can represent the object, namely the eagle eye object. I think that's enough to practice making the eagle ogo. See you in the next session. 6. Practice Logo #3 Dronefly Part 1: Friends, I'm very happy that we are still together to learn the Pictorial logo making practice session. This time we will discuss the brief for the third logo and practice making a logo. This third brief is the company from Dronefly. Dronefly is manufacturer company that produces drone of various size from mini drone for shooting footage to large drone for delivering goods. In the advantage column, Dronefly product can be relied on in various situation. They also have important features such as auto drive, auto dodge, long range, and longevity battery. So the advantage offered about products that can be relied on with all their feature are also, some features such as auto drive and auto dodge can calm us in difficult terrain. On the disadvantage, dronefly product tend to be expensive, considering the quality and feature offer. And actually, this is not really a weakness. If we look at the customer column, Dronefly does target middle class consumer. Those who use drone for film production, content creators, modeling industry to map large areas, and premium delivery services that send goods to location directly using drones. So what kind of logo can we imagine? Although the name tron fly does not explicitly refer to animals or fruit, the description explained that Dronefly takes the form of a dragonfly. If we pay attention, there's indeed a similarity between the name Dronefly and Dragonfly. So the logo that we will create later is a representation of Dragonfly. The dragon fly has many abilities. For example, it can fly quickly, avoid attacks, and perform very fast and unpredictable flight maneuvers. So the brand name is appropriate or at least represent the dragonfly animal. In this practical session, we will create a dronfly logo inspired shap of dragonfly, as we have discussed previously, the dragonfly was chosen because it represents a dronefly product. For example, it can fly quickly and agile avoid obstacle and enemy attacks and also has sharp vision. Okay, friends, let's enter practice number two, namely the drone fly logo. Dronefly itself has been discussed in the previous brief, namely the brand for drones of various sizes. Now, for the practical session, I still using square and circle cut lens. So I want to make a logo representing the dragonfly object, but from the side angle. So I make a circle tool to make the logo not far from the circle. Choosing a circle shape because the logo shape is curved, especially on the wings. So the first thing I do is throw the body. I throw I throw the body across from the end of the circle it line to the end again. Well, I throw the wings. They look very wide, but this is just a shape of innovation from a logo. So it doesn't have to be the same. But what is certain is that this is a representation of dragonfly. So the shape of Dragonfly still remain visible. So it doesn't lose the shape of dragonfly. Then there are two wings, and each wing overlaps the other. Then next I shade to get a more detailed or clearer visual of the logo that I will make later. For from the first wing and the second wing, there will be a slice. The second wing and the body of the dragonfly also have a slice. This slice becomes our focus point. Although in this logo, I don't use the golden ratio aspect principle, but our focus will be on will be on the intersecting points or will be on the overlapping, overlapping wings. Then as usual, I scanned the logo that I had drawn earlier, then I import it in affinity designer and enter digital. In this digitalization process, I started drawing the first. I drew on the party of the dragon fly. Here, the skill of playing nodes and curves is very useful. So my friends can practice making logos while practicing using curves and nodes so that the shape matches the sketch that I made earlier. Then I made the wing section with an offal shape. Well, this shape, then I put it on the wing. Then I put it on the wing. Then I adjusted it and this oval shape I converted two curves so that I could edit the nodes and manipulate them so that the shape matches the one in the sketch. It doesn't have to be the same as the sketch, but we can also improves, but we can also improvise, so that the logo shape is proportional because the most important thing is that the logo shape is placing to the eye and also proportional. Meaning there are no lines that are to curve or wavy. Then on the second wing, I made another oval and convert it into the curves, and I edited in the node so that the shape is more or less like this. Friends, so this is a dragonfly body. Then there are two wings that overlap each other, and also from the second wing and the dragonfly put the overlapping. After it fills enough, the next step is to enter the coloring stage. During this coloring stage, I use blue on all parts. Then I change blending on the wings to multiply. Then scan the logo and sketch. Remove the scan from the sketch, and then I remove the scan from the sketch or I hide the sketch, and you will get logo like this. Some parts are not proportional, so I can re edit. I adjust the part that are too sharp, for example, if the curves is too sharp, then I make it a bit curved, especially especially on the head. If you look closely, the head is too sharp, and then the tail is also too sharp. Next, I copy the logo into two, one for pickup, and another. I will re edit if there is still some part that I think are not quite right, such as in the slices. I made the slices editable, meaning I can change them to the color I want. Then so soon that the dragonfly shape resembles a lower part of the stomach. I think I have to re edit again. Then I wrote dragonfly there from the name of the company. Then I changed the color to dronefly according to the color in the logo, and I changed the thickness of the font from dragonfly. Maybe it's too thick. The result is more or less like this. 7. Practice Logo #3 Dronefly Part 2: Friends, we are entering the second part of drawing a logo for dragonfly, but from a different perspective. But previously, we made a logo representing dragonfly, but from a side angle. This time we will make a logo from a perspective or an angle from above. So the representation of dragonfly, but from the top angle. Well, I made it in this first. I divided it into I divided the head of the square into three. So it looked like the rule of third. So two thirds is the head to the wings, and the remaining third is the body to the tail. Then I started to shape the body, drawing the body shape and head shape horizontaly. Then I draw the wings because dragonfly has four wings. I want to combine the four wings as if they were propellers from a drone in general. Combining the dragon fly visual and the drone visual in general, so that the latter the dragonfly will look like a drone. The Dronefly is similar to a dragonfly. Why I do take such a visual because logos with a technology or high tech field use symmetrical symbols. Use a symmetric pictorial. For example, in automotive or automobile or car manufacturing, logos often use symmetrical logos. Right and left are the, the same with dragonfly. I took in the initiative to use a symmetrical shape and represent its product. No, I shade to get a visual when the logo is finished or to get a visual preview. Then I fix it again in the part that needs to be fixed. More or less the logo will look like this, looks symmetrical between right and left. Now, just enter the digital as usual, we enter the sketch that has been scanned earlier into the affinity designer. In affinity, there is a fairly unique feature called a symbol. This feature is often used to create motifs such as cloth motifs, ceramic motifs, and mandela motifs. Maybe friends are familiar with Mandela. Friends, if you are not known up the Mandela, maybe you can find some picture on the Internet. Next, I will use this feature to create a logo. I only edit one part of the side, but later, the another side is already follows. Then I go to on the symbol feature, then I click the symbol, and I copy the rectangle. I click create on the symbol feature, and I copy the rectangle. I put it next to it and I mirror. In the layer tab, there will be a symbol and rectangle group. Here is the place to edit. Previously, I added a square previously, I added a square for a guide line so that in the logo is not to vertical and horizontal. The rectangle on the left side, the right will follow roughly. I only need to edit one part of the rectangle and the other part will follows. This is very useful feature for editing motifs and clothes and motifs on ceramic. And it is very easy to use this feature. And I think Adobe Ilustrator also have a similar feature. Then I divide the rectangle into three, a rule of third. But this is more a vertical rule of third to get a precise part. To third for the head and wings and one third for the tail. Then I add a like a line that crosses for the placement of the wings to be precise. For the wings, I also used the symbol feature again, so I created a new symbol for the wings. I copied the rectangle and put it next to it in mirror, so that I only needed to add it one part, and then the other part will follow. Well, this is time, start making the wings. In making the wings, when using the symbol feature, the four wings will either have the same shape and size, or when we added one of the wings, then the other wings will follow. Then then I put the finished wings according to the cross guidelines. I put it more or less like that. Then I copy it again from the wings below. Then I put it into the symbol group in the dragon fly for section, so I can insert other symbols into the existing symbols. Then I give it color and more or less the logo. I think there are still many part of the logo that are not proportional that I will fix, such as the body shape, still too big or the wings are still too long. I started editing again to get proportional logo, and you can see when I only edit one part of the wing, the others will follow. Now, I add the logotype. Maybe you have your references about fonts, and this is just an example, and I'm looking for fonts that are easy to get. You might have your fonts references according to your taste. The logo will look like this. I think it's practical for the Dronefly logo parts one and two to be finished, and we will meet in another practice 8. Practice Logo #4 Zebrano: Friends, we are in the fourth logo practice session and also in the last logo practice. In this fourth brief, we will discuss the Zebrano School logo brief. Zebrano School is a piano school for children and teenagers. A school for those who want to take a piano lessons or dedicate time to learning the piano. Zebrano School provide a piano classes and mentoring and has the advantage of a complete curriculum mentored directly by professionals and also offer professional level equipment. Zebrano target student customer from middle class families who interested in the piano. Because the school's name is zebrano, a combination of Zebra and piano. The visual that will be used are Zebra animal visual and piano visual. Considering the target consumers are student for elementary to high school, the logo will have more of a student vibe. Moreover, if we look at the disadvantage, Zebrano need branding because it has not yet widely known. We are entering the last logo practice session, namely the Zebran logo. According to the Brief, the Zebrno logo is based on the representation of Zebra. Of zebra animals, which will be in the manipulate into its shape, namely a combination of the zebra shape and the piano shape. First, as usual, I used the square cut line again again, and then I started making the Zebra no shape for your information because there was a recording error in my camera, and then the recording when I sketched the logo, some of the footage was deleted and lost. So the recording had suddenly had a half a finish shape, but I hope this is not be a big problem. So this logo is based on the zebra visual. And if you pay attention, the zebra body is like the keys on the piano, then the Zebras legs represent or represent the keys on the piano. If you pay close attention, the Zebra tail also represent the musical scale. The shape is a zebra. The zebras represent the piano keys, and the zebra tails represent the musical scale. Also on its body, there are strip lines. As usual, we go straight the digitalization. I scan the sketch. Then I import it into the affinity. If I may be honest, this logo is included in a combination of objects, namely the piano object and the zebra object. But as a practice, and there's nothing wrong when we make a combination of logo like this, even though this is not completely pictorial. And the next, I started this time I used the pen tool. I started following the sketch with the pen tool and the tail. No, to make it easier to edit the outline, I lowered the opacity on the scan image. So that the outline was clear. So that some part of the outline I felt were not proportional and needed to be re edited. So I made to some parts of the nodes. Then I added the thickness of the outline maybe five points or more. Then I replaced the blue color with black, and then I drew the lines. on the body, again, using the outline and the pen tool. Now, after the lines on the zebras body were finished, I moved to the piano case. I simply used a rectangle. Then I changed the outline size to be smaller, and I copied the rectangle and place it on the side. Then on the side of which there pieces. Next, so that the Zebras tail resembles a musical scale. I use an oval shape to fill the zebras tail. I just put it there, and I adjust it then and I adjust it and then the size of the outline can be adjusted. It is better to fill it with color. Maybe I will fill it with black on the tail, and then I will remove the outline so that there's only a black oval More or less the logo will be like this. If we look at the distance between the keys, it is not the same. It's not even meaning each keys has a different distance. So I adjusted it so that the distance between each keys is the same and looks more proportional. Once again, some parts don't fit that I need to re edit. So around the neck or head, the shape still looks sharp and it needs to be made more curve. So so that it's not too sharp. Because this nuance is a school for children and teenagers. So the image we take has an nuance like school for children. So I take the zebra as well because it represents one of the animal that is often associated with the shape of a piano. This zebra animal has a childish, maybe or nuance of a children's school. So next, I add the word Zebrano, below it. Then I chose a suitable font. I don't think it's a bold font. Maybe I will use a thin font. I use this font and then adjust the size and spacing of the font. More or less the logo will be like this. I think the logo making practice for the Zebrano logo is offer, and this is also the last logo practice. 9. Conclusion: Friends, this is the last session of the series of pictorial logo making classes. I would like to thank you because you have followed until the final stage. But there are some very important points that I need to emphasize in making a pictorial logo. The first is that a pictorial logo has a uniqueness in an object that can represent the values of the company or in the products. With just one object, it already represents the values, vision, and mission of a company. But finding such an object will certainly be a challenging. The second is to find the shape of an object that represents it, which can come from living things such as animal or plants. It can also be from intimate object or objects around us. It is very important to choose an object that everyone knows, or this object is already widely known. The third object representation can also come from body parts or parts of an object itself. For example, if we previously made eagle eyes, it's not just the eyes, but also wings, claws, heads, and so on. If it's a plant, it can also use leaf visual or tree visual. So it's not always about the object, but it can be a certain part of the object. Fourth, it doesn't require the company name to be in the same as the object name. Some examples include the Twitter logo, which uses a sparrow in the logo, and WWF, which uses the panda object representation. This means that whatever the name is, and what's important is that the object can represent the company and its products. Five, this picture logo are simplifying complex shapes into simple ones. But Simple shapes can still be identified. The point is that the complex shapes are simplified, but can still be identified, and people can still easily recognize the logo shapes Sixth, when we make a tutorial shapes, we don't just change an object into a vector version or make an illustrator of the object. Because later, it will look ordinary and not unique. The last advantage of this logo is that when this logo is widely known, it can become a brand identity, and it is very difficult for other companies to imitate the same logo or even use the same representation object. Once again, I would like to say thank you very much to all of friends who have followed this class until the end. Hopefully, this class can be useful for all of you. I'm Fathoni Ashari, see you in the next class.
