About This Class

In this class I will walk you though, step-by-step, how to create your very own professional DJ logo from scratch, even if you have little or no experience at all in designing DJ logos.

We will take a look at how the worlds biggest DJs design their own logos, such as what fonts they use, what colours they use, and the overall style of logo that they have. Then we can take the elements that we like about their DJ logos and implement them into our own DJ logo design.

This is so that you will be confident that your DJ logo will be just as good, if not better, than the logos of the best DJs in the world.

What you will learn:

  • How to choose the best font for your DJ logo
  • How to change the font size
  • How to change the spacing between your words and letters
  • How to add lines to your DJ logo
  • How to add a box to your DJ logo
  • How to add an element (small graphic) to your DJ logo
  • How to test if your DJ logo will look good on a flyer or a t-shirt
  • How to resize and export your DJ logo in high quality

What you will need:

In this class we use an online platform called Canva.

Canva is a very easy to use, drag and drop platform, that allows you to create your own designs, such as DJ logos, without having any prior technical experience.

If you are not already signed up to Canva, you can get a 1 month free trial to access all the pro features. This should give you enough time to design and download your very own DJ logo.

The end result:

By the end of this class you will have your very own professional DJ logo, that will be high quality and have a transparent background.

You will need your DJ logo to be high quality so that when it is used on big screens, posters and flyers, or t-shirts, it does not look blurry and it will still look professional.

You will also need a transparent background so that when you use your DJ logo over the top of other images or backgrounds, only the DJ logo will be shown, and not the background of the DJ logo image.

I hope you enjoy the class and I look forward to seeing your DJ logos.

See you in the class!

All the best,

Jak :)

As a member of the Skillshare community, you may already know that class projects are a huge part of the platform and what makes Skillshare so unique for this class project, it's really simple. All you need to do is follow along with the class and design your own DJ logo. It's as simple as that. Also, if you're not sure on your own DJ logo and wants a second opinion, or you have done a couple of designs of DJ logos and not sure which one to choose. You can put them in your class project. And I'll get back to you with my thoughts and I will try my best to help you on which DJ blog or to choose or you need to do is head to below this video where it says Projects and Resources, and click the button that says Create Project. Also, if you liked this class and you've found it valuable, please feel free to leave a review and let other students know that this is the right class for them when it comes to designing a DJ logo. Leaving a review also helps me out massively two, as it Skillshare know that I'm doing a good job. Thanks for listening, and let's get back to the class. 3. 5 Golden Rules: When it comes to designing a DJ logo, I have five golden rules that I follow. Number one, you generally want your DJ logo to be just a topography logo. Most DJ logos or just topography Logos, which means their logos with just text with no images or symbols in them. So going forward in this class, even though I will be showing you how to add symbols and images to your logo. We would mainly be discussing how to do a topography DJ logo. Number two, you generally want to use bold or thicker font. A DJ logo will be often used over a background on things such as flyers, posters, and even pictures and videos on social media, which means you will want your DJ logo to be able to stand out from the background. Bold fonts and thicker fonts generally stand out from the background a lot better and a lot clearer than if you were to use a narrower font or a thin font. Number three, you want to keep your DJ logo simple. A common mistake that I see beginner DJs make when designing a DJ logo is they're trying to do too much and make it too complicated by doing things such as adding a shadow on your text or making your text 3D, or having three different font sizes are adding cliche DJ images, such as headphones, speakers, or decks. The more things you're trying to add to your DJ logo, the more complicated it's going to get, the messier, It's going to get actually the amateur. It's going to look, do less and keep it simple. Number four, you want to make your DJ logo easy to read. Another common mistake that I see beginner DJs make when they design a DJ logo is they try and use fonts, are arranged their texts in ways that makes the logo how to read using fonts, such as a graffiti style font or a handwriting style font, or a hollow style font where the middle of it is transparent and it just has the outline. Or having the font too small in certain places. These are all things that at first may sound cool for your DJ logo. But in the end, it just makes you a DJ logo harder to read. And if people cannot easily read your DJ logo, What's the point in having a DJ logo in the first place? Number five, you want to keep your DJ logo all one color. Adding more colors to your DJ logo again, at first, may sound cool, but it just complicates things and it can make your DJ logo look less professional and even harder to read. Another key reason why it's better just to have one color for your DJ logo, as we'll see later in the class, is that you're going to want to put your DJ logo in as many places as possible. Having different colors in your DJ logo is going to make it more complicated and more expensive for you. If you want your DJ logo printed on certain things like T-shirts or laptops. And it will also increase the likelihood of your DJ logo clashing with other colors when you use it on things such as flyers and posters. The main color used for DJ logos is actually all white. It is the easiest color to place over the top of backgrounds. So you're DJ logo stands out more and it doesn't clash with other colors. Also, if you make your DJ logo just all one block color, like white. You can always change the whole color in the future if you do need to. And it'll be a lot easier than if you have multiple colors in your DJ logo. So they have it. They are my five golden rules when it comes to designing a DJ logo. You want to make your DJ logo just typography. You want to make the text bold. You want to make your DJ logos simple. You want to make your DJ logo easy to read. And you want to make your DJ logo all one color. Now to have an effective DJ logo, you don't have to stick to all these golden rules perfectly and have them all in your digital logo. They're just guidelines that I've found works best to have the best results possible when designing your DJ logo. In the next video, we're going to dive into the laptop and take a look at some already established professional DJ logos and see if we can get some inspiration from them. And also see which DJ logo stand out to us the most. And also see if they follow our golden rules. See you there. 4. Finding Inspiration: Okay, So we're in the laptop view now. And what we're going to do is buying some real examples of world famous DJ logos to see which DJ logo stand out to us for inspiration and to also see if 30 J logos follow our golden rules. What you can do is go into Google and type in a big festival name like Greenfield's, followed by the words lineup. So what I'm going to do here is type in Greenfield's lineup, 20th, 22. And then from here I'm going to go over to images. What Google will do is hopefully bring up the flyers for that event with all the DJ logos on it. So e.g. the first one here in the search results, you can see all the DJ logos on this flyer. And also if you try another few, so just here, you can see some more DJ logos. I can scroll down. And here's another example. If you just click this one. And from here you can open up these images into a new tab where you can see the image is fully. If you right-click open image in new tab, then you should be able to zoom in and zoom out and see the DJ logos a bit better. So from here you should be able to get to see all the world's biggest DJ logos for inspiration all in one place. You don't just have to use cream fields for festival is an example. You can try other festivals such as ultra festival or tomorrow land. I just use Greenfield's because it is local to me and they have flyers with actual DJ logos on. Sometimes the event flyer is just print the DJ names on the same font. Don't have the DJ logos on. So e.g. if we go back here and if I click this example and just open it up a little bigger, right-click open image in new tab. You can see here they don't actually have the DJ logos. They just have the names at all in the same font. So what you want to try and do is fine fliers that are good to see other DJs actual logos on. For this class, I'm going to use this particular flyer. Going forward in this class, we're going to use this example to look at other DJ logos for inspiration and try and craft our own professional look and DJ logo. So first off, you can see that all the DJ logos and mainly topography with just text, they are all generally bold, simple, and easy to read, and they are all also just warm color, which is white. So I'm just going to quickly highlight some of the DJ logos here that stands out to me personally and see if these DJ logos follow our golden rules. So I'm just going to wet the free flyer and see which one standard to be the most. One of the first ones that catches my eye here is over on the left-hand side, which is the cow Cox logo. And then I also like the bicep live in, is a little stretched out. The camel fact logo here on the right-hand side. Male five. I like this logo here, moving across, Dimitri Vega, sunlight, Mike eats everything is a nice bold symbol, logo, even though it does have an elements in, it, still pops out and stands out, quite like the official logo's very simple, but you can read it very easy on the eye. The Hannah wants logo all the way over on the left-hand side, moving across Holly goof Hoatzin, say it to the Jimmy John's logo. One that really stands out to me is this MK logo on the bottom left-hand corner. Very big, bold and simple and easy to read. Paul Van **** logo just below that. Again, very big, bold, simple, easy to read. Then you have pendulum just moving across Pete Tong and then just write the bottom here. There's quite a few good ones and scream and gelato. As I mentioned, I think the main reason for these standing out to me most is that they are bold, simple, and easy to read. Another thing with these examples and another reason why I think they stand out to me the most is because they take up more space on the flyer is slightly bigger than some of the other logos in the center here, hybrid minds does stand out, but the Jimmy John's logo is just a little bit bigger. So it stands out to me a little more. This might be down to the cream fields designers designing the flyers, but there's still another reason why you want it big, bold, simple and easy to read. Now, even though some of the other flyers might actually look better from a design perspective and have more going on. My eye isn't drawn to them at first and I have to go looking around for them more. So e.g. at the bottom here, purple disk on machine has a lot going on, but it's not one of the first logos my eye is drawn to know some of the thinner, more narrow fonts don't catch my eye as much as well, such as the Calvin Harris logo up at the top right here. Very nice design, looks very good, but the font is a little too thin as too much space between the letters for it to catch my eye as much as say e.g. the camel fat logo just next to it. The one also here in the center. This charlotte logo, again, very thin font, doesn't stand out very well. The Christophe logo on the far right-hand side is a very squashed form. So it's a very short font. So again, doesn't catch my eye as much as the camera fact logo above it eats everything. Logo just to the side. Another one here, disciples, very thin font doesn't stand out as much as the two either side of it. And the faithless DJ set just here, again, a very narrow font, big spaces in between the letters, and it doesn't stand out as much as some of the others. And they just some examples of logos with narrow and thin fonts that just don't stand out to me as much as the others. Now there are some DJ logos that I'm not particularly fond off for one reason or another. So I'm just going to quickly go through them and explain my reasons why. First off this analog up on the top here, it's quite confusing. The letters are crossing over. Some people might think that's cool, but it's not the easiest to read and it doesn't stand out too much in a positive way anyway. Then also just next to it that I'm Van Buren logo is quite bored, but similar letters are filled in. It's not as easy to read as the others. It just seems like a big block and a big blur to me. And just x again, the arts but logo, It's not as easy to read. It's a very small font. The letters are filled in a bit, is a bit too much going on in the teas. It's just doesn't stand out to me that well, this logo, this one here as well for Brennan, this one is not the best to read. It is bold, but there's too much going on. If I glanced at that, I wouldn't be able to read it as easy as soon as the others, The chain smokers over here on the left-hand side. I just not too keen on the kind of handwriting and painting fonts. I just don't think they stand out as much as the boulder simpler fonts. Some people might think it's quirky, but the whole point is to be able to get people to see your name and read it easily. If you don't know who the chance markers on, that's the first time you come across this logo. I don't think it would be the easiest to read and then say moving along with the chairs instead, just log on. Now, even though I love chess and status be watching are quite a few times and I know who they are. This logo is not the best for me. It's got two images either side that I can't really tell what they mean. The letters go big and small. As far as you can see, the chase and the status, the biggest state of everything, but can't help but think this could have been made a little simpler, a little easier to read over on the left hand side, this d block and stiffened. Again, I just don't think it's the easiest logo to read now, I'm not sure if that is done to them. Picking this kind of name just doesn't seem the simplest logos, simplest DJ name that I've come across. Again, this handwriting font here by Dennis is very thin, very handwriting and swoosh it and it's just not something that's easy to read and stands out too much on the flyer, Gareth, Emirate over here, the Emory underneath the word Gareth, it's just very squashed together. Not very easy to read handwriting font once again. And this one here, I think it says jewel again in terms of being easy to read, I'm standing. This is not one of my favorite logos, Jack Jones and other handwriting font, not too keen on them. So some of these DJ logos, you might know who the DJs are. So when you glance at the logo, you automatically know who they are. But I'm assuming just like myself, you may not be a world famous DJ, so you do rely on them being able to read your logo a little bit more if it's the first time ever coming across one of these two logos here, they're not the easiest to read and the brand name won't stand out to you as much as a simple one, like Jimmy John's on the left here, or the hybrid minds one. Again, Jonas blue, a lot going on here. Not the easiest of fonts to read if you don't know who they already are, Josh wink over on left-hand side is a bit squashed and I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but it's not the easiest to read at first glance. It's not most aesthetically pleasing logo moving across matter with a line going through thin font. Couple of things that don't make it stand out much though. Michael BB, again, I don't like I like the Michael a bit more, a bit squashed and close together over this BB font seems like it's too much going on. He's trying too hard with that little bit of font. Like a graffiti I'll paint style. I think this one over here on the left says Miss KB. Again, if I can't read this, I don't know that is k. B, how am I meant to know who they are if I can't read the logo, the last couple of monkey fading the font type, not very easy to read, especially with the background. And there's something going on like this. I think this one here says Nicole, the fonts not complete, very thin and not popping out as much as some of the others. And the last one is Roger Sanchez Here, the fonts not the easiest to read. It's not the biggest most board logo. And it's also got an element here that I don't think adds to the logo. So they, they they just my personal preference is where I do prefer the bigger bolder logos. And hopefully when you're looking at this flyer on Earth as a whole, your eye will be drawn to certain logos. And these are going to be the more simple boulder, easy to read logos rather than the others. So as I mentioned, like myself, were not world famous DJs. We don't already have a brand established if you're creating a new logo, the key point is to be able to get people to read and understand your writing as quick and easy as possible. So if you can imagine some of these logos are up on the back of a laptop or on a screen. And you've never heard that before. You're going to want to make it easy to read some of these logos that are pointed out that are not easy to read. It could be stored in front of him for hours watching them DJ with the name up in lights, the logo everywhere, and you still want remember who they are. So hopefully you can see my point. Know about the golden rules when it comes to creating DJ logos. The whole point is for people to be able to know who you are and be able to remember you. So you're DJ logo just needs to be able to stand out to be simple, easy to read, and that's it. It doesn't have to be fancy and the design itself doesn't need to be memorable. They just need to be able to read the logo so they can remember your name and not the logo itself. So e.g. if I was to take that flyer off now and ask you if you can name it five DJ's that are on that flyer that I've just brought up. Hopefully that'll be fairly easy. It should be able to name five of the DJs that were on. But now if I asked you to draw the logo of them, five DJs, and remember the design, could you do that? It's going to be a little harder to be able to remember the design of the logo, don't remember the name. And that is the same effect that you're going to get when you're DJ in life or if your name is on a flyer, people won't remember how cool the design of your logo is. They'll just remember your name and that's exactly what you want and exactly why you need to make it stand out, keep it simple and make it easy to read. So what we're going to do is take examples and certain elements of this flyer and other DJ logos that stand out to us. We're going to use them in making our own DJ logo to make them have the same effect. Whenever we're looking at other people's DJ logos. Let's get started on making your own. See you in the next video. 5. Choosing A Font (Part 1): Design our logo. We're going to be using an online platform called Canva. You can sign up to Canva and use it for free with limited features. Most of what we do in this class can be done for free, but certain points I will be using some pro features. But not to worry if you have never signed up to Canva before at the time of filming, they offer a free 30-day trial that you can use to access all the pro features to do your DJ logo. It's really easy to sign up and it's not necessary for me to cover how to sign up in this class. You just need to go to canva.com and sign up for a free trial. If you already have Canva, then great. There's no problem. Now, once you are logged in, we're going to open up a new logo project. We're going to go to Create Design upon the top right-hand side here, click that and then go to Logo, unclick that. They should open up a new tab and a blank canvas here for us to create our new logo design. You will see some logo templates along the left-hand side here. You might think it's tempting to just scroll through the templates and just insert your DJ name into one of these. And then there you have it. You've got a DJ logo, it's done. But these templates are more for business logos and don't really fit what we need as a DJ. And I know I've been through pretty much all of them to see if any of them fit, but they don't. The only reason we would use one of these templates is if we see a font that we like, I want to grab that font and use it ourselves. So e.g. here on the left-hand side, this height one, if we like that font, we can use that for our DJ logo. The design themselves are not really follow a DJ logos and we're not going to use them for now. What we're going to do first is just simply add some text and type out our DJ name. So we're going to go to the tabs on the left-hand side here and click Text, and then click Add heading. Again. It's going to give us some font combinations here on the left-hand side and different examples. And these might be tempting to try and use, but again, simple to the other examples, there's not much here that we can use for a DJ logo. So for now we're just going to leave these. And now we have some texts on our Canvas. All we need to do is go ahead and type our DJ name. I'm going to use an example from the random word generator that I used from the DJ name class. And I'm going to use that name for now. So over in the class that I created for DJ names, I randomly picked out this one called Seek peanuts. So I'm going to use that as an example today. And what we're going to do from here is straightaway, change the background to resemble more of a flyer. So the minute we just have this white background and black text, and we're going to change this to resemble more of a flyer. You can do this at the end, but I find it more useful doing it straight away from the start. It gives you more of an idea how your DJ logo is going to look on a flyer. And it's more fun to design your logo this way rather than just against a blank background. But if you do want to leave it blank, That's totally fine too. What we're going to do here is just click the canvas and the background and then go on the left-hand side here to the background color and click this. And then we're just going to change it to black. Then we need to click our textbox again and then go to the text color, click this one and then change this to white. Now we should have a black background and white text. Now we're going to go over to the top on the left-hand side and find photos. If this isn't already on, you just need to click the Apps tab. Scroll down and you should find one that says photos, and just click that one. So from here in the photos, you can search anything that's going to relate to your DJ name or your DJ brand, e.g. like Festival, nightclub, lasers, or beach party or palm tree, if that suits your style of DJ more. So from here, I can type in nightclub. What I can do is select one of these images and drag and drop it across onto my background. Now some of these other problems, so if you see a little crown, a little golden crown, that means pro. If you're not signed up to the pro version just yet, you won't be able to use these. It'll have a big Canva watermark over the top. For now. Before I sign up to the pro version, I'm just going to scroll down, find one. That's not a pro version. So e.g. this one, you don't necessarily have to use a DJ image, but I'm just going to drag this one across and show you for now. So as you drag it across, you just need to hold your cursor over the corner or the side of the canvas like this, and it will snap to the background. Now from here, the background is popping out a little too much for us. So what we're going to do is the background again and then open the top right hand corner here there's a checkered black and white boxes and this says transparency. So just wanted to click that and then change it to 50. So in this box here instead of 100 is type 50. Press Enter, I'll drag the scale down. So halfway. What this does is it blackens out our background a little bit more and makes our text pop out from the background. If you don't want a nightclub image, again, we can type in beach party. Maybe use this first image here, drag it across onto the corner, it'll snap in. And we can use these type of images as a background and a flyer background. See what our logo looks like against a background. So I can just double-click that background too and drag it across slightly, stretch it out so it frames the DJ logo a bit more in the center. Just like that. You can pick whatever image you want, have a look around a drag on across as your background. No, to do the most basic form of a DJ logo, we can just choose a font that we like and leave it at that. So let's choose a font. You just need to simply click the Text box and go to the choose font drop-down just on the top left-hand side here. Select that. And you can scroll through some of these options here and just pick a font that you like. Remember, we're looking for a simple bold font that will stand out well against the background and is easy to read. As you scroll through, it should be like just looking at the Greenfield's flyer that we looked at previously, the simple bold fonts should stand out to you straight away. If it doesn't, it probably won't make a good font for your DJ logo. So e.g. if we're looking here, this very small handwriting style font here won't be very good. I can't read it already. On the one just below it can have the reduct. So as we're scrolling through this font here that says Anton, we can click this. This one looks like a style of font that we want for our DJ logo. Big, bold, simple, and easy to read. Another one that stands out here. Let's select that one. This one seems like a good font as well. Let's scroll a bit more. Now, even though this one here does seem like a bold font is a handwriting style font or script is not very easy to read, so I'd avoid this one. So again, looking through, you can't really see some of these fonts very clearly. They're not easy to read. Keep going through and then this one here. But also avoid any serif fonts, which is like where they have the little flicks at the end of the letters. So if just like this, you can see here on the K It's got two little flicks at the top of the letter and at the bottom, same as the P. So as a general rule, I would avoid fonts with flicks. And these are generally Serif fonts. So again, scrolling down, we see another bold one here. It was like that. Now this one's a maybe this is pretty good, very bold, easy to read stands out. And a very big one here. Horizon even drops it down to two lines. And just a couple of moles scrolling through. We have one here, leaks, Barton and novella. You get the idea that you can scroll through some fonts, see which ones stand out to you. Select them and see what it looks like with your d, j, and m. As you can see when I selected this font here, it took it straight two capitals. So some fonts are just all caps and some fonts you can have lowercase or uppercase. So e.g. if I go back to league, spartan, this one now is lowercase. Now instead of typing it out yourself to change the fonts from lowercase to uppercase or two capitals. If you go to the three dots on the top right-hand side here for more, More Options. And then there's option here of a little a and a big a which says uppercase. So if you select this, it will change it to uppercase. If you select it again, I will change it to lowercase. So it's a very quick way of being able to go between the two different fonts of uppercase and lowercase. So to try a different approach to find different fonts, you can also type in keywords to the search bar. So I'm just going to select the textbox again. Go to the 2s font option. Here at the top is the search bar. You can type in keywords such as like bold, heavy, or thick. So if I go in here and type in bold. And again, it gives you suggestions of thick and heavy. You can scroll through here and I'll give you all the different board fonts. This one's quite big bold font here. And if we scroll down a little more, can see some more bold fonts. Again, a couple that stomach here. There's one, another one. Now if we just look a bit underneath that one here to this font. This is a type of font that would normally catch people's eye for a DJ logo. And I just wanted to highlight this. Now it can look cool and it is a bit more different and unique. But this is also why we put a background on our canvas here to be able to test it out against the background. Now this background is not too bad because I do for him the letters within the people dancing here in the palm tree. But if we had a noisy background, this font wouldn't stand out too much because it's transparent in the middle of the letters. So this is a really good example of a font that I would avoid for a DJ logo doesn't stand out very well against the background and it wouldn't be too easy to read. So if you scroll through a few more on the left-hand side here, we've got a few more big bold fonts. Now you don't have to go for the biggest and most bold fonts on the platform. I just wanted to make a point of how you can look through the fonts and maybe find a good one for your DJ logo. You can also find a normal fonts and just make it bold yourself if it has the option. So if I go back here from searching for bold, if I go to this font here that says later, click that it's quite narrower fonts, but you can give it the option of making it slightly bolder. And this applies to a few of the other fonts. If you do like a font, e.g. this one here as well. You can select it and change the board option here along the top where the B is and make it a little bit bolder. Now when doing these exercises and trying to choose a font, don't just have to keep changing your logo. You can also make multiple logos when trying out different fonts. This is something I'm going to be doing a lot throughout this class because it light to create a lot of different logos and then choose for my favorites at the end, I'd rather have two-minute than wish I had kept one from the past and AB now lost it. So what are we doing is duplicating the page whenever I make a change to the DJ logo so that I can see my logo evolve over time and have different styles of logos to choose from at the end. So just a top of the canvas here on the top right hand, there's a duplicate page button. If I click this, it's going to duplicate the page that both exactly the same. But now I can change this font here and not lose the last font if I did like it. So I can change the font to low bellow. And now we have two different styles of logos and can compare them at the end. If I do it one more time, duplicate the text box, change the font again. We have three different styles of Logo. This also takes the pressure off. If I want to try a different style of font or logo, and I'm not sure of it because it doesn't matter if it looks bad because it's on a new page. I can then delete it and still have the previous version of the logo. Once you have done a few different styles of logos, which we are going to do throughout this class. You can then click the grid view in the bottom right-hand corner. So just here without number three, because we have three pages, it then says grid view. If I select this, it's going to show me a helicopter view of all my different designs. This will make it easier for you to see your logos altogether and compare them side-by-side to see which ones you prefer. Now at the minute, we only have a couple of different fonts as examples, by the end of the class, we're going to have many different styles of log or that you can choose from. I'm going to this grid view and this helicopter view. We'll be able to make you compare them a lot easier from here as well, you can delete the different pages just by selecting it and hitting the backspace key or the delete key on your keyboard. And it will delete it automatically. Or you can just click the three dots in the top right hand corner and then select Delete Page. Now even though you may think this logo looks a bit plain and boring, it is simple and effective, but what you want it to do, clearly state your DJ name and you can see it clearly against the background. Now if we look back at the Greenfield's line up again on that flyer, this logo here we have in front of us is normal, plain and boring, and some of the others on that flyer. So as you can see here again, the cow col-xs logo, it's just plain and simple text, same as dead my five, same as bicep live. Same as the Boris logo just at the side of it here. And many more logos on this flyer. They just simple plan and effective text. But that being said, there are a few things that we can do to make our logo look a little more professional and unique without overdoing it. So let's move on to the next video. 6. Choosing A Font (Part 2): In this video, I'm going to show you how you can get different fonts from different websites online other than Canva. For this, you will need access to the pro features on Canva. And as mentioned in a previous video, you can use a 30 day free trial to be able to access these. So also doing this class, I've gone ahead and access my free trial note. So I do have access to the pro features today. If I just go on photos and type in, Festival, can now see that I have access to these pro features and pro images, that one across. And let's try this one as well. I quite like that one. We'll keep that one for now. The website that we're going to use is called duff font.com. So I'm just going to open that one up quickly. So as you can see here at the top is called duff font D, F ont.com. From here you can search thousands of fonts to try and find one you like. You can select a category from this middle section here and search through their fonts to find a font you like in that category. Now it may be tempting to go straight for the graffiti category because graffiti is cool and wearer, cool DJ, which is fine. You can have a look through the graffiti fonts if you really want to. But for now, I'm just going to click the basic sans serif option just here. From here you can notice here that it shows you a list of different styles of fonts. And what we can do to make it even easier to select a font is you can type in our DJ name in the preview box above the fonts just here. So I'm going to do is type in my DJ name. But before we hit Submit, we're also going to change something else from here if we click More Options and then we want to select this option here that says 100% free. And when I select that, it's also going to select the public domain top. What this means is when these two are selected, we can use the fonts for free as personal use and commercial use. So it'd be free to use these fonts is our DJ logo without any copyright issues. From here I'm going to click Submit. And now what we'll do is show them fonts with our text and our DJ name. So if I scroll down here, you can see all the different types of fonts that we could use with our DJ name already written in it. So we can also go back to the top and tried different categories as well. So I'm going to try this category here under techno and sci-fi. And as you can see, these fonts are a bit more unique, but they ask their basic fonts that are quite bold. So feel free to have a look around on the website to see if there's any fonts which catch your eye and you think it will look good for your DJ logo. But for now, I'm going to select one of these and show you how you can upload it into Canva and then you can edit it yourself. So what I'm going to do is just select this top one here. As I quite like the P and the a and this logo is quite unique, but still bold, still very big and should stand out well on a background. So simply just going to click the download button here on the right-hand side, and it should start downloading to my laptop. When the font is downloaded, it will sometimes download as a zip file. So just before you move on, you just need to unzip the file and be able to access the folder inside. So as you can see here, my downloads folder, I just got the zip file of the font. I just needed to double-click that and I'll open this file here. And this has the fonts in. When you have selected a font and download it to your laptop and unzipped it. We need to go back to Canva, but we need to go back to the homepage or not the project page, which should take us back to this page here. So from here, we need to go to the tab on the left-hand side called brand under Tools and select that option. From here, we need to go to the top right-hand corner where it says Add New and then select brand kit. I'm just going to name this brand kit. I'm going to call it just DJ logo. And then click Create. Now we have a DJ logo brand kit. From here now we just need to scroll down to the bottom right hand corner where it says brand fonts and then select, Add New. From here, we just need to go into your downloads, find the folder where the font is, and then select an Open the font. Then you might get a pop up just like this one. Please confirm the following by uploading my own custom fonts. I acknowledge that I own this font or have the right to use it for my intended purposes. And this is why we clicked just here on duff font, 100% free and public domain. So we do have the right to use this font. So we can go Yes, upload away. Now, here we should see an uploaded fonts, our new font that we just got from duff font. Now if we want to make this font, our standard font for our headings, we can go to textiles. And then just here where it says add a heading style. We can select this option and choose a font. Choose the drop-down, scroll down to loaded fonts, and select our new uploaded fonts. So now our default heading will be under this font. If I go back to my project, what I need to do from here is refreshed the page so the changes come into effect. So I'm just going to refresh the page. Now go to text on the left-hand side. Now, instead of it saying on title bronchi, I'm going to select that and go to DJ logo. And now we have our font just here where it says add a heading. So from here we can duplicate the page just like I've shown you before. Select the textbox. And we can also go up here to choose the font and scroll down. And you can see here our brand kit that says DJ logo and our new font. I'm just going to select that. And now how fonts has changed into that new font that we have just got from the website duff font. So there you have it. That is how you can add a font that you have downloaded online to Canva to have more unique fonts. This could be enough for your DJ logo, just like we've seen in the Greenfield's, via just text and a unique font can be enough if you do find a font that you like and you're happy with that. Brilliant. But there are a few more things that we can still do to potentially make our DJ logo look a little more professional and give us a few more options to make it unique. So let's move on to the next video. 7. Adjusting The Text Size: There are a couple of ways to change your text size. The first one is really simple. You just click the Text Box and then go over to the font size and type in the number of font you want. So e.g. here we just click this textbox top here where the font sizes can be used, the minus or the plus to change the font size. I'll just type it in this box. Really easier. But there is another way that I personally like to use, and I believe it comes in handy when creating a DJ logo. So this time we're going to select the box. And what you need to do is drag the sides of the box as close as the text as possible. So from here, I'm just going to use the side of justice to drag the box as close as possible to the text. And what will happen is it will drop down. Just like that, then move back until it goes back to the line. And that is as close as I can get it from here. I'm just going to move this text box to the center just by clicking and dragging it. And as you can see, the camera is really good at snapping your textboxes and whatever you use, like elements in line with certain things. So from here I can find the true center just by snapping to that middle line, moving it down, and then snapping it to that middle line as well. Know to adjust the text size here. What I can do now the text is as close as it can be to the textbox, is I can use the corners to drag the text box up or down on the text size and the font size changes as well. I believe changing the text size this way is a lot better because you can get the text the exact size you want without having to guess the font size numbers. So e.g. as you may have seen them, when I drag this text box up, it gives you another purple box just around the outside of the canvas. This is so you don't go too close to the edge when designing things. And if I want my text to go right up to that line, I just need to drag it up on the left-hand side so it snaps. And same on the right-hand side, get a corner and drag it until it snaps to that line. So now I know my text is right up to the edge of that box. And this goes for the same. If I want to get my text to the right, to the edge of the canvas, instead of trying to guess the numbers by clicking the box and using the plus or minuses and guests. This way, I can just simply grab the corners and drag the text right up to the edge. Same on the other side. And I know my text is close to the edges I possibly can get. So I'll just move that back down. This will come in handy later in the class, and we need to start changing the font size and potentially matching two or three different text boxes and fonts to be the same size as each other. So I just quickly wanted to cover this now in case I start changing the font size quickly in some of the next videos and you weren't sure how to do it. This is the best way for me to change your text size when designing a DJ Logo. See you in the next video. 8. Adjusting The Letter And Line Spacing: I am now going to show you a couple of things that you can do with letter spacing and line spacing to edit your DJ logo. This basically just means adjusting the space between your letters and your lines. So from here we're just going to click the text box. Then if you go to the top, this tab just here, that says spacing. So there's a couple of lines than a couple of arrows in the box. I'm just going to select this. And from here we have the options of letter spacing and line spacing. First, we'll have a look at the letter spacing. So it's currently at zero. And we can use this slider here to adjust the letter spacing, move it to the right. It's going to stretch the letters out and the gap between them. So let's have a look. You can see how it stretches the letters further apart. And I forgot to left it brings them closer together. Now sometimes we fonts, stretching the letters out can make it look a little more professional and intentional as it makes it not look as default or standard. So we'll have a look at the Greenfield's Flyer again. From here we can see some examples of where some text and fonts are stretched out a little more than standard. So if we look at the top here at a lesser, you can see the gap between the letters are stretched out more than the one on the right-hand side here. And they see, and these are a little closer together. Same if we look on the right-hand side here, the art back one, that one's been stretched out and there's more space between the letters. And then over here on the left, the dead my five logo. You can see this one's been pushed together a little more. There's hardly any gap between the letters. And then just below that, e.g. e.g. you can see that the letters here a stretched out as well. Sam, We've just to the right of it, faithless DJ set letters are quite spaced out. Holy goof is another example. Joseph's logo here on the right-hand side as well, and just below Patrick topping, these are all good examples where DJ logos have used letter spacing to make the logo look a little more professional and unique. Now if we just go back to Canva and if we look at line spacing, line spacing is used when your text is on two lines instead of one. If you just have one word for your DJ logo, you can't really use this option. But if you do have to words and you have them on separate lines, you can edit the line spacing between them. So e.g. now if I move the slider further to the left, it's going to bring the text closer together. If I move it further to the right, it's going to make them further apart. So e.g. I want to bring them closer together. So around here, what I'm also going to do is just stretch the letters are a little more to make it a little more unique. But first I'm going to have to stretch out the text box. I'm going to stretch right to the edge of the canvas. Then go back up to spacing and just move the letter spacing. It's a little more. So I think around 200. So I'm just gonna type in here 200 and we'll keep it at that for now. From here, I'm just going to drag my text a little smaller back to that square box so I don't get too close to the edge and then snap it to the center. There we have it. We've customized our logo a little bit more now by closing the gap between the lines and stretching our letters out a little more. If you just go back to the cream fields flyer, we can see some examples where they've used the line spacing to edit a DJ logo. So over here on the left-hand side you can see Murillo. His logo is really close together and the letters are touching on hana wants is a slight gap, but on how Ana's here, just to the right of it, there's no gap again. And then holy goof is a bit more of a gap in-between them words. And then on the faithless DJ set, you can see there's a gap in between them. Words just here. And then on the bottom left here, Peggy Gu, you can see that's quite close together. And then over on the right-hand side on Patrick top and you can see they've put lots of gap in-between now. So there's just some examples of what DJs have used a line spacing to make the logo a little more unique and stand out a little more. And also from here, if you have your text on two lines and if your words are different lengths, you can also adjust the alignment of your text from left, the center, or to the right. So before we do on our logo, I'm just going to show you a few more examples here whilst we got the cream fields flyer up. So just at the top here on Fitzpatrick, you can see that his font is over on the left-hand side. This is left aligned. And then over on the right-hand side here you can see I'm recourse is left aligned as well. And then right at the bottom, Simon's DJ log was left align to. And then back at the top up on the left-hand side, Adams logo here is center aligned. Brandon's is also center aligned. Dimitri Vega, sunlight Mike logo is center aligned. Same with faithless is an Gorgon, the city here on the right-hand side. Now if we take a look at fairy cost and his logo here, the font is actually right aligned. We've laid by Luke has writer line, and also Peggy Q. So it's different examples there were DJs have used different alignment on the text to create unique logos. So let's go back to our logo. So we just need to click the Text Box. And then here in the center we can see alignment. So if we go through the options here, we've got left aligned than we have right alignment and then center. So you can go through the different options there and see which is best for your DJ logo. So there you have it. There are a few ways in which you can add some extra style and uniqueness to your DJ logo using letter spacing, line spacing, and alignment. Let's see how else we can become more creative with our DJ logo without overdoing it. See you in the next video. 9. Adding Lines: Now we're going to have a look at adding some lines to our DJ logo. So we'll go back to the Greenfield's flyer. So we have some examples here everywhere DJs have used lines in the DJ logo. So first we have been Nikki here. He's got a line above and below his fonts and his text. That over on the right-hand side we have Calvin Harris. He has a line under each word. Then we also have Martin Gary x here as a thick line in between the words. And then just to the right here we can see mutton and he has aligned throughout the text. I don't really like this option. It makes it a little harder to read. But we'll have a go at painting some lines in these other three. So we'll go back to Canva and we'll try and do something similar to the band Nikki logo. So from here what I'm going to do is reduced my text down so it's on one line. But first I wanted to duplicate it so I don't lose this logo. So I'm going to decrease the text. So it goes to one line, then drag the sides and so it's as close as it can due to the text. Now I'm going to stretch it out. So it goes to the box that we've been using as guidelines. Move that to the center. So from here on the left-hand side of Canva on the tabs, we're going to go to elements. Then just having the options of line and shapes. We're just going to select the first line, just that you can go to see all and select the line through here. The first one in the top left-hand side, I'm just going to click that. It's going to open up a line on our canvas. Let's just move it off from the text. So as you can see here, just under the line, we have two options which spins the line around. So let's put that back to zero. And also crossword can move it around. So from here now we've selected the line if it's not come up in the correct color, let me just go up into the top left-hand side and go on line color and change the color of the line. And then just next to it here we have the line style. So from here we want a solid line, which is this first box. And then we can change the line weight. That's how thick the line is. So watch as I drag this slider up, the line is going to get thicker and smaller. So for this we're just going to use a, Let's try it too. So it's quite thin line. And from here we want it just above our text. So I'm going to drag it down. So that's snaps there to the top of the text box. That's fine. Let's try that and let's stretch it out to the full length of the text. So there we go. I have one line. And then from here we can just click the line again, Command C to copy. I'll right-click, Copy, select the canvas, and then right-click again and paste or Command V. Now it's duplicated that line. We can drag it down to underneath the text. So there we have it. We have our DJ log or no, with a line above and below it. So this time we'll try and emulate the Calvin Harris logo. So let's have a quick look at it. So we have these firstName align, second name online. So let's go back. So instead of using this one and editing it, what I'm going to do is go back to this logo and duplicate again. No, we're not going to change the font. So this video is not about changing the font. This is about adding lines. But what I'm going to do is select the box, go on spacing, just like we've done before, an online space and create more of a gap. So I'm going to do it around the center. We can get them lines in-between the font. I'm just going to select off, drag this to the center, snap it in there. And then again, I want to select a line over from the elements on the left-hand side. That's actually perfectly where we want it. But this needs to be the full length of our texts. I'm going to grab the side, stretch all the way to the edge, to the box. Again. We want it a little thicker as well. So this time I'm going to go on line style select and I'll change this to six. Just a guess that seems alright. Then from here we're going to select it again, right-click, two-finger click, Copy, canvas, then paste. Now let's drag this underneath the word peanuts, just here. Now I do think the line under peanuts is a little closer to the text than this one in the middle. So what I'm going to do to get it more accurate is zoom in. Right at the bottom here. There's another slider and it says 99% at the moment. But what can you use this to zoom out an n on our text. So what I'm going to do is select this line, then just move it a little further away so we can get a bit more accurate with our elements here. So I think around them and go back to this cursor and get it back to 100 per cent. Just now, even though we don't have the same font and the same words in here. E.g. if I type in Calvin Harris, then I just the lines here to match the text size. And this looks a little more like the logo. So again, the font is not the same, but the lines are in the same place and that's what the exercise is following this video. This is very similar to how we would do the Martin Gary X1 as well. So let's duplicate this page. Delete the bottom line, and then from this one we can just make that line weights a little bigger. Just like that. It's that one resembles the martingale x log or a little bit more. Again, not the same font, but you get the idea with the line and how to adjust it. Now there is one more way I'm going to show you how to use a line for your DJ logo. That's not one of these three. So what we're going to do is duplicate this bottom page here and delete. The two lines were to zoom in slightly as well using the slider at the bottom. And what we're to do is create more of a gap in the middle of these two words. So I'm just going to put a few more spaces to and then stretch the box like this and then drag it to the center. What we're going to do is just put a little line here in the middle. I'm going to click the line option over n elements. And then what I'm going to do is flip this around so it's at 90 degrees. Just like that, make the lines smaller and shorter. And then drag that into the center of the two words. Then from here I think the letters are a bit too far apart, so I'm gonna delete one of these spaces and then zoom in again. Drag this line a bit more in the center of the two words. And that is another way of how you can use a line on your DJ log or to make it a little more unique. It's just about a line in-between the two words. So there you have it. That is how you can add some lines to your DJ log or if you did want to. Now, my advice would be to only outlines if you think it adds to your DJ logo and improves it. Just because you can add lines, doesn't mean you should. Remember, simple and easy to read is key if it takes attention away from your text or makes the logo look like there's too much going on. I'd say avoid putting lines in, but if it doesn't take attention away from the text and it highlights the text even more than I would say, go for it. But don't just add lines for the sake of art in lines. Now that being said, let's move on to the next video where I'll show you how to add a box to your DJ logo. See you there. 10. Adding A Box: I'm now going to show you how to add a box to your DJ logo. So you have a quick look at the Greenfield's Flyer. There's two examples on this flyer here of DJ logos with boxes. On the top right-hand corner. We have our van Buren and also eats everything. So if you go back to Canva, what I'm going to do is scroll to the top and just grab this logo again is one of the more standard ones that we've not edited. Duplicate the page, and then we're going to add a box on this. Now, if we go back to elements here and then try searching something like box or rectangle. So let's try rectangle. Okay, It's give us the option here of rectangle frame, so let's try that. And then here in graphics, we've got some good frames that we might want to use. So if I select this first one here, it comes up. Now, the problem with these rectangles brands, this is what I'm just trying to cover this to make sure you don't make this mistake is that you can only make it larger or smaller with the corners. So you can actually make the dimensions of the rectangle any different. So e.g. if I want to use this rectangle on this logo, this is the size it would be, and that doesn't look too good. I cannot make it the dimensions any smaller. So if we delete this, and this goes with the same of most of the rectangle frame or boxes. So we need to go back to elements. Now, here in lines and shapes, the first box is what we want to use this full box. So also if you want see all in shapes is this first square that we want to use. So if we click that, it's going to come up here with a full box. And this isn't what we want to use just yet, but we can make it. So it's a box because from here we can adjust the sides, make them longer or shorter to fit our logo. So the first thing we want to do is change the color of the box to transparent. So from here on the top left, we have color. So if we select that and then just here with a red line through it, red line through the checkered box. This is transparent. So if we click this box now becomes see-through, but now we need an outline to it. If we just go next to this here on border style and select this option, instead of having this no sign, we want to go to the ryan, have a solid border. So we select this option. Now we have a border around our box, but it's not the right color. So before we move on, we're just going to select this option here where it says Border color. Then we're going to change it to white on the left-hand side. And now we have our box that we can adjust. So from here we can use these sliders on the side and on the corners. Just drag it to the edge of our logo. There we go. So once we've got it in place and the size we want, we can then adjust the box to make sure it snaps in the center just like this. And if you want to adjust the weight of the lines, so as we know both the weights, we can make it smaller to two. So it's a little thinner, but I think for a lot pretty good for that one. So I change it back to four. And then we have our box around our DJ logo. There you have it. It's as easy as that as adding a botched C or D J logo. Now I would say the same principles apply to if you were to add lines. If you think it makes your DJ logo look better and draws attention to your text, then go for it. But don't just add a box for the sake of adding a box because you can, normally when adding a box to your DJ logo, you'd want your texts to fill the whole box. So you really wouldn't want any gaps, just like this logo here. So as you can see, side of the top words as gaps on the left-hand side and gaps on the right-hand side. And if we go back to our Greenfield's flyer for examples, these fill the boxes. So I'm in Van Buren, fills the whole box as soon as eats everything. These theorem in two different ways. As you can see, the text in this box here is two different sizes, so as eats everything. And this one has an element two. And that's how you can fill the gaps. I'm going to show you exactly how to do that in the videos coming up. But if you do have a name that is symmetrical, it has the same number of words, e.g. like Jimmy John's here, or even Darwin styles here. You should be able to put a box around these pretty easily and fill all the gaps in the box. But first, before we fill that box, I'm going to show you how to add element to your DJ logo, just like eats everything. Roger Sanchez, and even very cost them. So I'll see you in the next video. 11. Adding An Element: I will now show you how you can add an element to your DJ logo. Adding elements to your DJ logo is not that common as you have seen, most of the DJ logos are just text, but just in case you did want to add an element. I'm quickly going to show you how you can do it so quickly. Just go back to the Greenfield's lineup. There are a few examples here where we can see that DJs have used elements. So first here in the middle is chasing status. You can see like an element or a symbol on either side of the logo and on eats everything you can see the little Pac-Man kind of symbol or element there in their logo and on very cost and logo just here, you can see the F symbol on the right hand side. And then on Jamie Jones, you can see they always slightly different. That's kind of like an element and a symbol. Then you also have led by Luke here. He has like the back-to-back else, which looks a bit like a Jane and L, But I think that represents the two L's from laid by Luke. And also a couple of arrows here just before the word Luke. One as well. Upon the top left-hand side here, we have above and beyond that, even though this is just all text, this sign here can also be an elements and assemble. So what we're going to do is you go back into Canva. I'm just going to show you how we can design a couple of these logos by using elements. So just before we edit this one and edit the Sikh peanuts logo, I'm just gonna go to the bottom, create a new page. And then I'm going to delete all this. So I'm just going to quickly add a sub-heading and type in the words above and beyond. So from here we're going to try and recreate the above and beyond logo. Now we're going to be able to get the exact texts are exact fonts for these, but I'm going to show you how to add the elements. I'm going to show you how to add the elements to them. So from here I'm just going to drag this up to make it bigger, center align it. And then I'm just going to pick a text font that looks similar to the above and beyond logo. Okay, So I'm just going to use this font here. This is bold and looks similar. Then from here we're going to select the text on, just change the line spacing so it goes closer. So it's almost touching. And then the letter spacing a little closer together as well. Then what we're going to do is left align it. And from here, just so we can get the n symbol here, I'm just going to hit space a couple of times just to create a bit of a gap here. And I'm just going to drag this back into the center. So from here now I'm going to go over two elements. Then in the search box here, I'm just going to type the actual letter that they use, the symbol and then go and graphics. What's going to do is give us elements and symbols and graphics that we can use for this word. So we can scroll down and have a look what's similar to the above and beyond logo. So from here I'm just going to use this one. It's probably not exactly the same, but you get the idea. I'm going to drag it down. So the corner at the right-hand corner of the box fits in between the a and B. And then I will drag the element down a bit smaller, just that in, and then change the color to white. Know how, but it's not exactly the same. Let's have a look back at the Greenfield's flyer. Appear at the top right-hand corner. You can see it is quite similar. So that's one example though, of how you can use an element and add an element in. Let's try another one. So I'm going to create a new page. Delete all this again, go to text at a sub-heading, and this time I'm going to type in very cost them. So I'm going to drag this text up to make it bigger, center align it. I'm going to pick a font that could be similar. I won't be able to get the same font, but let's just change the font here. Let's scroll down. I'm just going to select this one and choose that. It's not too different, but you get the idea. Then I'm going to right align this text. I'm going to select all. And then right align it. Then I'm just going to change the line spacing so the text is closer together and then make the letters a little closer as well. Oh, there we go. Then from here I'm just going to move it over to the left-hand side. So we've got space for the elements, and then we'll go over two elements and then just type the letter F, click Enter. I've gone on graphics. And if we scroll down here, we should see loads of different options of the letter F. And then just on the left-hand side here, I think this one's pretty similar. So this one, we could also use that as an example, or this one. I'm going to use that one here as an example. I'm going to try it to the right-hand side. Change the color to white. Then from here I'm just going to use these two arrows to pivot the elements. So it looks a bit more in line with the text. Just like this. Shrink it down a little bit. There we go. Let's have a look and see if that's any similar to the fabric costs and logo. There you go. So it's not exactly the same, obviously a different font and a different element, but it's just an exercise to show how you can get something similar. Then one more, what we're going to do is start again and do one more. We want to try Jamie Jones this time. So text ads subheading, typing Jamie Jones. To drag this up to make it bigger. Let's change the font. And then from here what I'm going to do is make it all capitals. Put it to uppercase, use the spacing to get the letters closer together. Center align it. Then from here I'm just going to delete the 0 and then add some spaces. Now we have a space to put an element. So I'm going to go to elements again, just put the letter 0. And then from here we can scroll down and see if there's anything similar to what he has in his logo. So there's nothing there for all. So what I'm going to do is just type in circle and then scroll down. So this one here could be used if we can change the color, Let's level up back at the logo. So it does have some wavy lines across it. Let's go back and we'll just use this one for an example now, we can change the color. So I'm going to drag this into the gap and then change all the colors to white. And then zoom back out again. And there we have it. There's something similar again, it's not the exact, but you get the idea of how to add elements in just to make that logo a little more unique. So if you do want an element in your logo, what you need to do is just go over two elements such that type of thing that you do want and then add it into your logo. But again, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, you only really want to add an element to your logo. If you think it does, add to your logo, doesn't take anything away from the text itself. Just like with the examples on the Greenfield's flyers, the text is still the focal point and the main bits of the logo. So see you in the next video where we're going to take one step further and be even more creative and unique by separating our text. See you there. 12. Separating Text : I am now going to show you how you can separate your text so that you can move different words around more freely and independently, and also have your words at different sizes and even different fonts. So first we're going to have a quick look at the Queen fields Flyer again. A few examples here of DJ logos with different size texts with different fonts would be up here first at the top right, I'm in bamboo yarn, so it's first word is a lot bigger than the second two words. And this is so it fits nice and neatly into that box. Also, we have basement jacks here over on the left-hand side. So in small here on the right-hand side you can see that it has DJ sets as well in a different font on the DJ logo. And also in chasing status, you can see many different sizes of fonts here. Same with the DJ logo, eats everything, two different size fonts. Now with the logo just beneath, you can see Gareth slug, or here it has two different fonts. So you see a more bold basic font at the top and then a more of a handwriting fonts at the bottom. Also on the bottom right-hand side, Michael Bbut house two different fonts here. At the bottom left we have MK, again, two different size fonts in his DJ logo with pendulum, you have two different fonts completely on two different sizes with two different letter spacing as well. For the last example, we also have disco machine here. There's a lot going on in this one and a lot of different combinations of techniques. There's three different words with two different fonts with lines and also a shape around the outside. We'll get into how to recreate this kind of logos soon in the class. But first we're just going to look at separating our text. So let's go back over to Canva. So from here I'm going to scroll all the way back to the start with this first one here that we used as an example. And one way we can do this first, so it's going to zoom in a bit more. So we can see is to separate our texts. What we can do is just copy and paste this text box or copy, and then paste. Then from here we can just delete accordingly. So in the first box, I can just delete the second word. And then in the second box, I can just delete the first word. Now we have two independent words that we can move around. What we can do with this example is I'm just going to drag the word, peanuts are a little bigger just so it stretches out to the full scale. And so it hits them lines. And then here with the word seek, what I can do is put it right at the start and then drag it so the k comes towards this tastes. So because we're using lowercase letters here at the top of the T sticks out a little more. So I'm going to stretch this up here. So it goes similar to the t sticks up and then drag that down to the app. So that is one quick and easy way where we can separate our texts and had them at different sizes and still make them look good. So what we want to do from here, from wants to move these two words around at the same time, is we can click and drag our cursor over both boxes like this. And then we can move them together as one. Then click off, and now they're independent again. But another way we can do this if you want to keep them together, is we can select the two boxes. Go over to the three dots on the top right-hand side where it says More. And then click group. And then what this does now is it combines them as one text box. There's one element. So if I was to re-size this box now it resize both of the words and the two text boxes in the same way. Then if you wanted to separate them again, you just click the box, go to the three dots, and then click on Group. But for now we're going to keep them together. And then from here, just for a bit of fun, I can add these elements over here. So what I did here is go to Elements, type in the word peanuts, and then go to graphics. And it's just this one here. So what I can do here is add this on and then move it across and use in this gap over here. So I can just adjust the size of this element, drag it down, I'm going to flip it around as well, change the color to white. And then just move it over that a little more. So that just fills out little bits of a gap in over here and neither separate. What we can do is add the elements together again, select them all, and then click Group. Now this is part of the whole elements all as one. Now what we can do also is change the font so the two different separate fonts. So I'm going to duplicate the page again. And then from here I'm going to ungroup all these three dots on group. Now they should all be independent elements. Again, I'm just going to select this bottom one here and then just change the font. So I'm just going to change it to this form here. And then what I'm going to do as well is change it all to uppercase and then adjust this down so it fits in like it did before. Get it. So the sides of the box arrives at the edge of the text and then just reduce it down. There we go. So that's two different fonts now in the same logo, what we can do again is select them all, go to the three dots in the corner for more and then group them together. No, they are all one logo. Again. There are multiple different ways that you can use this separation to create your logo. So I'm going to duplicate it one more time on group these, and then just delete this little elements here. So from here we can move this first word over to the opposite side, snap that in there. So no, this is right aligned, but the top word is a lot bigger. The word at the bottom, we can even put it in the center, snap it in the center here, just like that. And we can also make this top word a lot smaller if we wanted to. Make it a little bit bigger than that, then snap that in the center. You can use this technique if you do want to draw more attention to certain words from e.g. from here, the tension would be drawn more towards the peanuts word rather than the Seek. But if we did want to draw our attention more to the top word, we can drag that out completely so it snaps the same size as the bottom wide. Then drag that down. And that's also another option if you want to draw more attention to that top word. So there you have it. That is how you can separate your text to have words that are different sizes and even different fonts. You can have a play around with this technique, tried different fonts and doing different words at different sizes. This is just with these two examples. So the first word is only four letters and the second word is seven letters. But with the odd DJ name, that might be a lot more different options that can use to resize your letters and words. Now, in the next video, what we're going to do is recreate some of the logos from the cream fields flyer and puts all our skills that we have learned in this class together. See you in the next video. 13. Putting It All Together: So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to recreate some of these logos. The best icon that uses all the elements that I've shown you throughout this class and in previous videos, we are going to put it altogether and showcase all of our new skills. And I will talk you through it step-by-step. So first of all, I'm going to do is recreate the eats everything logo. So this has one font, but it has two different sizes. Has an element and a box. So let's have a go at recreating this one. So I'm going to scroll all the way down to a new box, duplicate page, and then delete these. So from here I'm just going to go to Text. And I wanted to add a subheading first and then add another one. We have two boxes here, two text boxes. So that's another way you can get to different text boxes that are independent. Then for the first one were to type in the word Eats and the second one, everything. So now what I need to do is just go over and find a font that was similar to the one that they use on the flyer. So I'm just going to have a quick scroll down and have a look. Okay, so I'm just gonna, I'm really just going to use this one here. That one, then that one. Now both textboxes have changed that font and what I'm going to do is change them to capitals. So I'm going to select the first box, got to the three dots for more than, change it to uppercase, and then same with the bottom textbox. Select that over to the three dots and then uppercase. And then from here what I'm going to do is get this bottom while this was going to make up most of the width of the logo and then just drag it out. It reaches the edge of that box. I'm just gonna make sure it's right to the edge of the box as well. So I'm gonna drag the sides in until it changes. And then drag it up again. So now I know the text is right up to the edge of that text box. I'm just going to do the same or similar again to the word eats. So I'm going to drag it down to the box here. I'm going to zoom in actually for this one is zoom all the way in and then move the sides inwards until it moves. That was pretty close anyway. So from hand in Zoom right? Now words make the word eats a lot bigger. Then from here I'm just going to move it a bit closer to the word, everything. There we go. So now we need to find an element that's like Pac-Man. So I'm going to go to elements. Let's type in the word Pac-Man. Alright, now on the logo doesn't actually have an eye on it. So I'm going to try this one and see if we can change the color. So I'm going to select that. And yet we can change the color. So first I'm going to drag it into this gap here. So it lines up with the first word here at the edge that says everything on it. Drag it down so that the top is online with the word eats. Let's just try and size them up a bit better. I'm just going to zoom in on this. And then trying to get this little Pac-Man so much the word eat, a bit better, like that. Now, on the eats everything logo, the mouth is facing outwards, so I'm just going to rotate. I'll do it to 45 degrees just there. And then change the color to white. There we go. And then we're going to zoom out. Now from here we just need to add a box. So we're going to go to elements and use that first square again from lines and shapes. Then from here we're going to change the color to transparent. And then go to border style, change it to a solid border, go back to change the color to white instead of black. And that one seems like a good width. So I'm just going to drag this to the outside of the logo so far and see where we're at. There we go. That's looking pretty good so far. I'm going to select all of these, I'm going to highlight them all and then go to the three dots for more than grouped together. And I'm from here, drag it into the center. Well, let's have a look and see what they look like. So let's go to the Greenfield's via Zoom in on, eats everything. And then just reduces time. There we go. That looks pretty, pretty similar. Obviously some differences, but you get the idea that it's pretty similar. It could make the box a little thicker. Let's try that. Let's double it to eight. They'll go could do with a bit of better spacing in-between the boxes, but we've pretty much got it there. So go to ungroup. Let's just make that box a little bigger. There we go. I'm pretty happy with that. So the next long run to recreate the pendulum Trinity log or here, just because it's two different fonts and both fonts have different line spacing and letter spacing as well. So what I want to do is go back to Canva, create a new page and delete everything from this one. Go back over to text on the left-hand side and then add sub heading and then add another subheading. The only reason why I'm adding subheadings instead of the main heading is because the main heading is set to that font that we downloaded from duff font. So I just wanted a more basic one to start off with for doing this logo. So the top one is typing pendulum. And the second one, Let's type in Trinity. Know the word pendulum is a lot bigger, so I'm going to drag this up so it touches the edges of the box. I'm about to work on this one first, I'm going to select this box and find a font that's similar to the pendulum logo. So from here I'm going to scroll down. I'm going to use and try this font here. That's pretty good, that's pretty close. I'm just going to stretch it out again, so it's at the edge of the box. I'm going to keep that one. It's lowercase. Looks pretty good. Now I'm going to change the word Trinity. So from here I'm going to change it all to caps because it's in caps. Then I'm also going to change the letter spacing and I'm going to drag that out to fall. This I just so it snaps to the size and then move it smaller. Here. Let's have a quick look at the pendulum logo. Assuming that the Trinity word goes from the E to the end of the EU. So it might be a bit bigger. Let's stretch out to the e, the end of the dress, not that to the center. There we go. So I'm going to do here is highlight these two boxes and then group them together again. And then snap them both to the center. Let's have a look how close they are. Pretty good. This trinity font can be a bit narrower, but you get the idea that's still a pretty good match. And same with the pendulum font. They're not exact. Style is the same. Now the last one we're going to do is probably one of the more complicated ones on here is the purple disk or machine logo. Let's zoom in. So as mentioned, this one has three different Wired's, has two fonts with a box inside of a hexagon as well. So let's have a go at this one. Let's duplicate the page, delete what we have, and then we're going to add three subheadings, 123. First one is going to be the word purple. The second one is going to be what? Disco. And the third one is going to be the word machine. Now, all of these are going to be uppercase. So I'm going to select the first 13 dots changed to uppercase. Same with the second one, down, same with the third. So just so we can build around it, Let's start with the word desk or in the middle, and snap that right to the center. You can see here the text box doesn't go right to the sides of the actual texts. I'm going to drag that in there. I'm gonna make it a little bigger and then move it to the center. So that middle one seems a bit more of a narrow font. So I'm going to change this one to a narrower font. So let's change it to Open Sans Light and then remove the boldness. And I'm just going to stretch out slightly as well. Letter spacing, I think should do, say try 100. Put it in the center. And then we're going to put a box around the word disco. I've got two elements. I'm going to select our square here. Again, change the color to transparent, bought a white solid. And then I think I ran a four or two would be good for this. So let's change to, and then change it to white. And let's drag this around the word disco. I'm going to zoom in for this one actually. Then what it can do from here is move that box so it snaps to the center and it'll be perfectly around the word disco. There we go. Then let's zoom back out again. And then what we're going to do is change the font of purple to the Open Sans but not light. So I'm gonna do it to bold. Then. I'm going to drag it over this side here, lining up with the box. Is it yellow line over the box and then stretch it out using the corner. There we go. And then the same way machine. So I'm going to select Machine, change it to Open Sans Bold. I'm going to get the textbox right to the edge of the text. There we go and then do the same thing as I did with purple. Get it to the edge of that box, stretch it out so it matches the same width. I'm just going to move up slightly as well. They've got, I think it's starting to come together now. So Purple Disco Machine, Looking good, so we just need the hexagon now. So let's go to elements and typing. Excellent. Alright, so we've got two graphics and seal and see what we've got. So firstly, I would have gone for this one and turned it on its side. But at the bottom-right here, we can see a thinner square, or should I say, thinner lines on the outside. And it's in the right orientation for us already. So I'm going to select this one that I want to change the color to white. And then for this I think it's just as simple as dragging the colonists so it stretches out around the already established logo. So I'm going to stretch out and then drag it to the center. There we go. Let's make that hexagon a little bit bigger and then snap it to the center using the lines. And I think that's a pretty close match. See, I think that's as close as I'm going to get it. That's a pretty teacup match the purples online with the corners and source the bottom of machine. So they've gone, and now we've used three different words, separate words, two different fonts or box, and a hexagon. So from here, just to finish it off, Let's select all these elements. Go 23 dots in the corner and click Group. So no, they're all as one. So as you can see here, just to point out, the word desk or in the middle, doesn't stand out as much as the word purple and machine. And they could just, they're a little more narrower and thinner as y, I'll suggest going for the border, heavier, thicker fonts when doing your DJ logo. There you have it. That is a pretty much a summary of how to do everything that I've taught you in this class. I hope the skills that you've learned in this class will help you design yourself a really good looking logo that is simple, effective, and looks professional. Now if you had followed along and tried some of these techniques with your own DJ name, you should have multiple different logo designs. So from here we can go to the grid view in the bottom right hand corner and just have a look at all these in like a helicopter view. From here you can compare your different logo designs side-by-side, and select a few you like, and delete the ones that you don't like. What I would do is I would suggest trying as many different styles as you can and testing out how they would look. I'll look at the festival flyers like the one where you've been using in this class for inspiration. Some DJ logos that you like and that stand out to you and try and do something similar to this and emulate the elements that you like in them logos and put them in your own DJ logo. Different DJ names will have different lengths of words, different amount of words, and use different letters that can all be used to do different creative things with your DJ logos. So you can find similar DJs with similar names to you and see what their logos look like. And just pick out different elements from different DJ logos and see if they work for you. But we're not just finished just yet. So don't go anywhere. We still need to test our logos out first, and then we also need to resize them and export our logos. We're almost there. See you in the next video. 14. The Flyer Test: We're are now going to test our logo and see how it would look on an actual flyer. Now, even though we do have some backgrounds that are similar to what a flyer may look like. We're actually going to get a flyer up on Canva and put our logo on to see how it actually looks. So what we need to do is go back to Canvas homepage. So just click the Home tab on the left-hand side. Then if we go back to create a design on the top right-hand corner. And then from here we're just going to type in the word flyer. And then I'm going to try the flyer portraits. So let's click this one and it will open up a new tab and have a blank canvas for a flyer, but some templates, and this is what we're going to look at. Note the templates from the Design tab. We can type in the search bar here, e.g. nightclub or beach party, just like we did when we were looking for backgrounds for our logo design. So I'm going to type in nightclubs and it'll suggest some templates of actual flyers that nightclub Hamilton may actually use. So we want to see some we've already have D J names on, so e.g. we can use this one here. Let's just click that and I'll load up automatically on the canvas. What we can do here is just delete this one. It says DJ Sean. We're going to put our logo there just to see how it looks. So we'll go back to our project and then we can pick our logo. So obviously I've recreated some actual DJ logos here. But already looking from our helicopter view, you can see which ones stand out more than others. So these small ones here with the writing all on one line wouldn't stand out. I don't think as much as these up in the top-left. So I'm just going to select this first one here. And it's already grouped together, which is good. So I'm just going to copy and paste this. So secondary click copy and then go to the new tab. And then if you paste here, should paste across to the new project. Then from there we can just move our log or imposition. It should stay together because it is grouped and then scale it down, centralize it. And that is how our logo would work on a flyer and how it would look. You can also try other logos. So if you want to test a couple of your logos or your logo designs, you can go back, go to helicopter view and say e.g. we did want to test this one out. Let's click it. Is separate at the moment, so we're going to group it together, three dots in the corner, group. And then copy this. Go to our flight design and then paste. Now you can drag it down next to the other logo just to compare how it is side-by-side on a flyer. So I'm just going to zoom in and then centralize it a bit more. There we go. I'll zoom out. So now we have two of our logos next to each other. Then we can compare side-by-side of how it will look on an actual flyer. I'm just going to try one more as well, one that we've created and copied from the Greenfield's flyer. So let's try the purple disk or machine. So this is already been grouped together. Let's copy all, go to the flyer design, paste it on this one, drag it down, re-size. There we go. So you can see the different dimensions also make a difference on certain fliers of how it's going to look for me on this wire, the central one stands out the most, it's the biggest and most bold covers up the most space. So e.g. the letters are a lot thicker and a lot denser compared to the one on the left or one on the right. This one is just how to size and makeup big because it is a hexagon. Now you can try this with multiple flyers. You don't just have to do one. Let's try beach party or pool party. And then duplicate page, delete everything off it. So now we have a blank canvas. The reason why I always contrast nightclub to pool parties because the nightclubs general, I have a darker background and the pool party, as you can see, generally has a lighter background. So it tests your logo against both styles of background. Let's pick one with like, Let's try this one here. It's got the DJ names and the sensor. So we just delete these and then try our logos again. Let's try a different one. I'm going to group these together now, group, copy and then paste. So as you can see that one stands out quite well, but obviously the elements in the 0 doesn't stand out as much as the other text. Let's try a couple more. Go to the grid view. I want to try this top left one out again just because I do quite like in fact now what? I'll try number three, Let's try this one. So it's not grouped together. Let's group it together, copy it and paste. Let's try one more. Let's do this carbon Harris form that we recreated. And let's group them together. Group. There we go. So there's our three DJs. This is a good way of getting a feel of how your DJ logo would look against other DJ logos and on a flyer against the background. This is actually helped me a lot doing this previously, there has been logos that I've created in the past that I thought looked really good against the blank canvas on the logo template. But soon as I dragged it over to a flyer, it didn't stand out as much as I thought it would and it didn't look as good. So I changed the logo to make it stand out more against these kinds of backgrounds. If you test your logo over on a flyer and it looks good, then great. Dj logos stood the test of a fly a test. You can have a play around with this try different flyers and different logo designs that you've come up with just to see which one standard the most against the backgrounds and on flyers. So hopefully this exercise helps you with your logo and how it would look on a flyer. See you in the next video. 15. The T Shirt Test: The t-shirt test is very similar to this flyer tests that we did, except this time it's with a t-shirt. I always get t-shirts printed with my DJ logos for when I am DJ, but when I'm in resort in general so that people get used to the brand. So I always test how my logos look on t-shirts as well. Now this doesn't just have to be a T-shirt. You can do this with anything you are thinking of getting your log one like caps, hoodies, all laptop cases. So similar to what we did with the flyer, we need to go back to the homepage. And then this time I'm creative design. What we're going to do is just type in Facebook cover. So this top one here. Now, we're not going to create a Facebook cover is just the dimensions are good for what we want to do for the Canvas. So if we just select this and open up a new project, then from here what we're going to do is go to elements and then type in the search bar, blank t-shirts. And then from here on the graphics, as you can see, it gives you different types of t-shirts that you can put your logo on. But what we're going to do is go to photos and then scroll down as well. And we can see some other different blank t-shirts that we can put our logos on. Just for this exercise. What I'm going to do is use this one here. So again, you can drag and drop it. I'll just click it. It should go onto the canvas. This is why we wanted to use the Facebook cover dimensions so we can get two t-shirts on front and back. So it's going to copy and paste our logo onto this to see what it looks like on the t-shirts. So let's go back to our project for the logos, go to helicopter view, and I'm going to try this top left one out again. So this one's catching my eye a lot more. So I'm going to double-click and copy and then paste it over to our t-shirt design. Now from here on the front, what I normally do is just put a small logo on the chest on the left-hand side if he was wearing it. So on the right-hand side here on the design and I'm just going to paste another one. And this one are generally put along the shoulder blades on the back, Something like that. So what you can do there is you can test out what your DJ logo will look like on a t-shirt if you were to get them printed. So let's try one more. Let's duplicate page, delete these logos here, and copy and paste one more over. Let's go to the helicopter view. And let's try the Purple Disco Machine one. Let's copy and paste it. So just a small one on the right-hand side here. And then the big one on the back in the center, just over the shoulders. Now, this is interesting, even though this logo didn't look too good on the flyers because of their thin and narrow fonts and the dimensions of it, I actually prefer this one better on a t-shirt. So this is one thing that you consider, whether you'd want your branding and your DJ log or the most and which he's going to get most publicity. So e.g. if you think your t-shirt is going to get more reach and more eyes on than say, your logo on a flyer. This one might be the better option to use. So e.g. if only a few people are going to see your DJ logo on the flyer, but you might have a photographer that's going to take lots of pictures, put it on your social media, and thousands of people are going to see it. You may want to optimize your logo for t-shirts rather than for flyers. So this is just one thing to consider when designing your TJ logo. This is a great way. Here's how you can test it and see how it looks on t-shirts. And other extra tip as well is when I send my details to get my t-shirts printed, this is how I create my designs that I want, and this is how I export this image and send it to them so they know exactly what I want. I'll send this image with the logo on the t-shirt so they know what design I want. And I'll also send the transparent PNG files to so they can print it on the t-shirts. And this is exactly what I'm going to show you how to do in the next video, we're going to resize our logo and export it ready to use. See you there. 16. Resize And Export: So now we have created our logo, test it how it looks on a flyer under t-shirt. We can go ahead and export our logo ready for use. So let's go back over to our logo project. And we're going to use this logo here to Export and re-size. The main problem I come across when exporting my logos is that the default canvas size for the logos Canvas, R-square. So you can see here the canvas default page is square, but yet my logo that I've designed is not squared. It's more of a rectangle. So if you were to export this file as it is, you'll have a lot of space up at the top and at the bottom for your finished file. Now even though you can make the background transparent so you don't see the edges of the file anyway. Still makes it harder to adjust the size of your logo if you're using the logo, say on a website or on other platforms to watermark pictures or videos. The actual box and frame of the logo will be too big. It'll be this size rather than really snug like this to the DJ logo. What we want to do is effectively tightened up this canvas size to match our actual logo size. Now before we do that, just like we have been doing throughout this class, we want to make sure the sides of our textbox or the box around our elements are as close as possible to the sides of the DJ logo. We also want to make sure that all our elements are in place where we want them to be and group them together. So to get our canvas size, the exact same size of our DJ logo, what we need to do is just drag the DJ logo over so it snaps to the complete left-hand side of the canvas and then use the corners to drag this out so it snaps to the right-hand side. As it does this. If you look just on the right-hand side in that black box, it says width is 500 pixels. And then it'll give you the height of your actual logo, 272. So from here now what I'm going to do is go over to the resize button on the top left hand corner, select this, and now with the width, we want it 500s, so that's a cross here, the width which is 500, but now we want the height is 272. And from here we want to go to Copy and resize. And this will open up a new tab with this size frame and this size canvas. So let's have a look. Now. It has put our logo in the center and not to the correct size. So what we're going to do is drag this to the bottom left-hand corner. And if we drag this top right hand corner now up to this top right-hand corner, it should fit perfectly. So let's drag it up. Straighten that corner. And this is the perfect dimensions for our DJ logo. So I'm just going to do that one more time with another logo. So you can see, I'm just going to go back to our original DJ logger Canvas here, scroll down and find a different one. So we use this one. So say that we want to use this one and get the canvas size exactly right to our logo. Now first we need to make sure that the text is right up to the edges of the text-box. So I'm just going to shrink this in. Just do a bit of re-size, and then we need to make sure that our line is perfectly in the center. So I'm going to zoom in and just drag that into the center here. Make it slightly bigger as well, so it doesn't look like the letter. I. Zoom out, That's a bit better. And then group these together. You put it all the way over to the left-hand side so it snaps to the edge of the canvas. And then true, I get up to the right-hand side and it should give us our heights. So we've got 500 pixels for the width and then 43 pixels for the height. So from here now we're just going to re-size with 500 height. I think it was 43. Then copy and resize. It's going to open up a new tab here. So it still keeps the original project open, so you don't lose this. And then go back to this one, scroll down to find the one that we want to use, which is this one. But now we've grouped it together so we don't have to mess around with trying to group these together and get them the right size they already are. And then drag this corner all the way over to the left-hand corner. And then say I'm at the top right hand corner. And that's just stretch out perfectly. Now on these new projects, you can go ahead and delete these if you wanted to. So you can go into the grid format to the bottom right hand corner and then just select this one and just hit delete, delete, delete, or backspace on your keyboard. Or you can write, or you can click the three dots here. I've got until the page is fairly easiest to hit the Backspace or Delete button. Leave this one because that's the one we want on. There. We have it. We just have our one DJ logo left, removed from grid. There we go. Now the reason why we can delete it, because it still has the original files here that we've tried and tested. We can export this one note and the other ones. We do the same with this one. Let's go to the grid format. Delete all the rest. Okay, So tonight, export this so we can use it first. We can change the filename here in the project name. So if we just double-click this, we can save it as seek peanuts, DJ logo. Final. Now when you save the file to your computer, this is why it's going to save us what we're going to do now as well. I should delete this club scene background. So if you just drag the logo down smaller, select the background, delete it just so it's all black, and then drag it back up to the corner. Now we just have a blank background here. And if we go over to share in the top right hand corner, select this and then go down to download. From here. The first thing we get is the file type and we want PNG does say suggested, which is good. We want that P&G gives you different options here, but we just want the PNG image file. Then also on size here we can adjust the size and the quality of our DJ logo. So at the minute it's 500 times 272 pixels. No, think of HD quality at ten ATP, we construct, you're out to that size. So e.g. if I wanted my logo to go on a big LED screen whilst them DJ a club off festival might want to drag this up slightly to make it higher quality. So e.g. here, two-and-a-half times bigger, which says that I'll have 1,250 pixels wide and 680 pixels tall. So this is if you need a higher-quality logo, say for LED screens, but if you're just putting it on our website or watermarking of a pictures or videos, you should be okay with the lowest size of what it was originally at, 500.272. If you do find your logo or getting blurry, you can just come back to Canva, stretch this up and get the higher-quality image. And then from here we want the transparent background ticked. So this will get rid of the black on the back of the canvas here and make it transparent, compressed file and lower-quality. We don't need this one just yet. And then if you want to save your downloads settings, that's fine. You can keep this one ticked and then just simply click download. And then from there it will download to your computer or your laptop, preferably blade to the Downloads folder. From here in the bottom left you can see it's downloaded for me. I'm just going to click this and open it up. There we have it. There is our DJ logo. So now from here, if I go back to, let's say the flyer designs here, I were to delete these three. Then I can go to my Downloads folder. And then here will be my seek peanuts DJ logo final night. To get it back on Canva, I can just simply drag and drop it onto the canvas here and it will load up. You can also go to, as you can see here, uploads on the left-hand side and then upload files. So now we have our logo back on Canva as a proper logo. So I can move this down. Just centralize it. And this is what companies will be able to do when you send them your PNG file for your DJ logo, or if you want it on LED screens and keep it on a USB stick, this is what they will use. So there you have it. You now have your very own high-quality DJ logo with a transparent background. Make sure you create a class project here on Skillshare. And let me see how your logo has turned out for yourself. If you have a few ideas, again, create a cost project with a few of them in, and I'll get back to you with my thoughts and feedback on which logo I think is best. I'm excited to see what you create. All you need to do is go below this video to projects and resources and create new project. Now you have your DJ logo. You might be thinking, where can I put it? In the next video, I'm going to show you some real examples of how I've used my DJ logos in the past. See you there. 17. Where To Put Your DJ Logo: Now you have your DJ logo. I'm going to quickly go through and show you some of the places that I have used my DJ logo in the past that has worked for me. So the first place that I always put my DJ logo is on the back of the laptop. So let me just show you an example here. Most beginner DJs now and even pro DJs use a laptop to DJ width. And when people look out from the crowd, they are more likely going to see the back of your laptop before they even see you. So I find this is one of the best places to put your DJ logo. This is not only so that people in the crowd can see your logo, but also when people in the crowd are taking pictures and videos, they like to point the camera at the DEJ boo. You are getting a huge reach there also, if ten people take a picture or a video of you deejaying and each of them have 2000 followers, are starting 20,000 people who could potentially see you and your DJ logo. That's amazing, right? And that is an opportunity you do not want to miss. So let me give you a couple of more examples. So this one here is at a pool party. Then here at another festival, you can just see it creeping over the LED screens here. Then the same again here, and then one more on the bulk party. So as you can see the amount of people that this or draw the attention to. Now, if I didn't have this logo on the back of my laptop, I would just look like anybody know where to get the brand in northern, know who I am and the same here, my friend on the left of me is down. The more you can just about see his laptop. He has a laptop sticker on the back of his as well. You can get personalized laptop Skins, as they're called are personalized laptop cases. And one place that I've come across it does this is called wraps.com. W r app.com. What you would do is create your design on Canva, just like we've done with our logo and with the t-shirt designs and send it over to them and they will create your personalized laptop cover. Or if you want a cheaper way, I want to do it yourself. Now, every single picture I've just shown you on here was just a piece of paper that I printed off and then laminated and I just basically cell taped it to the back of my laptop. If I go back up here, you can see here the corner of it is just facilitate on. And again here you can just see it. So piece of paper, normal A4 piece of paper and I've just sell it, takes it to the back of my laptop and laminated it for me at that time, all that it mattered was that they see my logo and see my name clearly. When I did this, I wasn't able to get the laptop case shipped out, so I just made my own this option work perfectly fine. Now the next best place that I find to put your DJ logo is on a t-shirt. So it's going to find an example. So even on this one here you can see the front of my t-shirt has the small chest logo. Let's go through now. There's another one with the back of the laptop as well. I forgot to show you. You can see how many people that can see the back of the laptop and even just taking a picture like this one, it stands out straightaway. Similar to the laptop logo. A T-shirt is a great place to put your DJ logo for both people who are in the crowd, but also mainly for pictures and videos. A lot of DJ pictures and videos are taken over the shoulder, just like this one, which makes it a great place to put your DJ logo. I find the best place to put your DJ logo is as big as possible across the back of your shoulders and also get a small logo on the front of the chest, like I've shown you previously. So I'm just gonna show you a couple of more examples here. There's another one. So again, on the bulk power to the amounts on this one, There's people stood behind me. So not only the picture opportunity like this, also just general people with eyes on the back of the logo. And another one here you can see the logo as well. Just above the ten steps to dj.com. This is what this DJ cars used to be called until I started getting more than ten steps and adding more. So I had to change the branding, but this actually worked a onetime someone actually came to me the year after. Instead, they seen this on the back of my T-shirt, downloaded the DJ cars and came back and said no, they can DJ so that it's just prefer that it can work and it does work. So not only people in person, we'll see it also on the back of pictures and videos. And then just another one here, one last one to show up back at it crosses the shoulder blades. Taken a picture of the crowd. They know that you are the DJ for this. If you ever manage the DJ at a club or an event where they have large LED screens is always good to carry with you a USB stick with your logo on it with high-quality, you can go up to the lighting guys and give them your USB stick and ask them to put your logo on the screen as you DJ, just like on this one. This way of getting your detail logo in front of people is super easy and it's so effective, it looks all good. And pictures and videos and it'll make you look like a super sick DJ. You don't even have to do anything. The lighting guys will normally do it all for you. You just need to have a USB stick with your high-quality DJ logo on it, which you should now have after this class. Let's have a look at a couple of more examples. Here's another one after paying party festival. So you can see the DJ logo up in lights, nice and big. And this is what I'm talking about with getting your logo as close to the edge as possible. So then people like the lighting guys and people who create flyers can drag your file up as close to the edge as possible so it's not drowned out by background. And if you look real closely there as well, you can see on the back of the laptop too. Here's another one as well. This one's a bit more high-quality LED screen, so you can see the difference in getting a high-quality logo as well and how much it stands out. So don't miss the opportunity and put your DJ log on a blank USB whenever you go on DJ at clubs or festivals. Also, if you DJ and events or club, they'll often ask you for your detailed logo to flyers and posters, just like on this one here. Hey, you can probably see why I choose to have a big bold DJ logo. I like to think that my logo stands out a lot more than the other two on this poster. Again, this is super easy way to get your DJ logo, that you just have to e-mail them, you're DJ logo for the flyer. The last example is basically putting your DJ logo over things online, such as pictures like this one in the top left-hand corner. Our videos are using it as a profile picture on headers of your website and so on. Again, this option is super easy. You just need to put your logo over the top of whatever it is. You want to put it online. The possibilities for this one are endless. So there you have it. There are a few places you can put your DJ logo. Now you have one. I always try and put my DJ log on as many things as possible as you can tell so that people could see it as much as possible and get familiar with it. There is a thing called the familiarity principle, or also known as the mere exposure effect. Which as I quote off Wikipedia says, the mere exposure effect is a psychological phenomenon by which people tend to develop a preference, but things mainly because they are familiar with them. So basically, the more people that get familiar with you as a DJ and your DJ logo, the more likely they are going to like you stick your DJ logo everywhere. I really do hope you've enjoyed this class on how to create a DJ logo. Make sure you create a class project and show me your DJ logos you have created. It'd be great to see what you've done. And if you have enjoyed this class, please feel free to give it a review. So then other people can see if the course is right for them. And it really helps me out as well with Skillshare and lets them know I'm doing a good job. Make sure you check out my other classes on my profile. If you want to learn more about deejaying, I wish you all the best in the future and in your DJ. Good luck. See you again soon. Bye for now.
