2. Line drawing examples and inspirations: So here are some of my line drawing examples that experiment over time and having your own sketchbook or your art journals are really helpful in recording your art styles and experimenting with different media can help. He also discovered, along the way, trying new things and giving yourself a lot of freedom in time is rarely valuable. But I do believe that less is more to which, for example, you prefer it and medium that you want to work on for a while, like for example, with this span or ink. And this one. My examples of line drawings and sketches and would lie down low. You can grow eight intricate, detailed or a loose style is. So here is also an example of my sketches. So.
3. Tools and Materials : Hi and welcome again to the glass and forget tools and materials. I'm going to use different kinds of bands throughout the class. And I highly recommend to use quality pans. My favorite ones, foot as Tokyo brush pen, this is a water-based ink awaited soft tip. And then I have here also the Tombow mono drawing pen. And of course my compounds. This is Sir, 0.5. But if you have different sizes and the vowel Douala, so and I'm going to use the Sharpie markers to this rarely grade for bold be guidelines. And this unit pen is really great to as similar to micro pounds. And if you prefer to use ink, I highly recommend to into income Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay inks. This is really good to use. And you can use whatever pen sets already have there in your hand. And 40 paper. If you want softer paper, I highly recommend and Bristol paper. And if you warn some strict to it, you can use mixed media paper and your brand will do. And if this paper is none available to you right now, you can use burnt paper or colored paper.
4. Line practice: So let's warm up our hands. So today we're going to practice different kinds of lines. And this will give you confidence by drawing a straight line first, pulling towards you. And you can try this several times, which is a piece of paper and then drawing straight lines away from you. This is really a good exercise. And then you can try also diagonal line. It tried to kind of make a quick swift to the end like a flying and then squiggles. Our runtime linus, he tried is each time you tried to draw column just to warm up your hands, making mourns and some dots. Just also to try to experiment what we're going to be localized when you use this kind of pen, kind of see what it can give you, what kind of lines, if it's thick or thin. Tried to experiment with it first. And also the way you hold the pen could also affect what kind of blind can give you. So sometimes if I'm not so serious and drawing, I'm going to Holon kind of loose. But if for example, I wanted to be more detail and I want to have more control. I'm going to put our arrest dependent here on the third finger and tried to draw lines from here. So I know you have a unique way also to ride, but this is resting on my third fingers and it's really up to you if you are left-handed. So this R, this a very basic lines that you can try at home or when you have time or before you start, any project is really, really helpful. So now that our parents are all warm up, Let's go now to the next videos and start to draw.
5. Line doodles: Now we're going to draw some little lines using different sizes of life and pans. So I'm going to use my sharpie marker and I'm going to trace my love town here. So basically there's already a line art or line showing itself. Anything that you outline without any shading or trying to be realistic style is so flat. This is just a basic shape and they use in line. I'm going to add some patterns inside a shape into a look more interesting. So zen doodles, zone tangles are, batters are excellent ways to practice positions as you don't have to worry about devalue or shading of your illustrations. And your aim here is just to cover the whole area and display curated with lines. And they're using different shapes and patterns. You can create unique designs. From that you can build your style and you can make it super detail. The sky filament. Developing your own signature lines takes a lot of practice. But as you make time to develop your style while letting go or being two constrains of lines by just being playful is the key. So lines can be expressive, simple, or elegant depending on how you use your lines and how you hold your pen will give you different styles and mustering with just using a pen or a marker will give you a different perspective in hand drawing with different lines. So you can start by just the basic lines and a pen or a paper. You can create different kinds of illustration with that already latest outlining NSObject and draw anything that you can think of. Four, it is faced, I do not recommend yet. Or reaching out for your phone to look for a reference online. Just draw something from it. It is irrelevant to see what's going to be our style, as everybody has it's own and you can draw whatever you want to incite at hand. So it is really fun away to all practiced our doodles and how you enjoy your lines. And it's just really great for practicing your hand and red to make the different kinds of characteristics of life.
6. Using Live reference: In this video, I'm going to show you how to draw with line using RL reference. And I'm using a black edge sunflower as my reference for today. So I'm just going to outline it using my Fudenosuke brush pen in. This is just a very basic line drawing of a flower. And by simplifying the shapes and the center and of course the petals, you can create a very simple and basic line art. It is just the overall shape or the outline of your subject. And by looking at the flower, you see just really copying us closer what you see in front of you without shading, just using the organic lines. And there's also called contour lines. It is a very fundamental basis of the drawing. So line-drawing is a very important technique because it is a strong foundation of any drawing or painting. You can modify it or tweak it in your own style. So now let's draw the second flower. I'm going to use the same flower. This time, I'm going to add a subtle shading and because, because I will like to appear to be so flat, I'm going to add shading to it later. So by not connecting the lines, you'll give me a sense of dimension. And if you can compare it to the first one, the second flower has more details. You see, even though you don't like drawing in a realistic style, line, drawing is still very important technique because when you master it and you can use your very own lines. And you can draw Ls lines or whatever subject you want to decide to draw, to manipulate it and turn it into different styles.
7. Loose Organic Lines with background: So I collected petals from flowers and it became this TO, instead of letting it dry, I decided to use it for nice sketchbook. So all you had to do is get her desk, different kinds of dollars from different flowers, sort of more colors, a panelist to battery. Then instead of using this, this PR paper or printer paper on a top US or fold and enter page of your sketchbook? Yes, like a sandwich. So the colors from the flowers or will it be wastes that instead of what this be on one page. So you have one spread. So the ALA and hammer it the best as you can just be careful not to hammer too much that you'll break the table. So just be careful that the paper on a tear off and just hammer it nicely. Now I'm going to use this brush pen to draw. And there's a sketchbook page. I decided to just doodle bunch of flowers to make it a bit bigger so that the texture, now we're really the colors from the pedals will pop out and decide to. So really simple line drawings. So you can go wild with ideas. So it's up to you. The sky's the limit. The scene joy. And, and I highly recommend is if you have art blogs or you want to play around and be yourself. This is hello, but different from the previous videos that I made. But letting go of your creative freedom is so satisfying. If you're interested, I made a separate Skillshare and class for grading your own coloring page for summer season. And you can find a link in my description box and you can check it out if you want to. And you can submit your project or as feedbacks to your doodles. And for the second page, this is the most messy area and I don't want to cart it too much. I love how to turn out. I decided to draw a phasor girl for the absolute backround. And I use a lot of different supplies like guard band cells, brush bands, sharp bands is more flavorful approach than the one I did a while ago because since I just use brush pen and just some few hairs and floating flowers to come up with. A theme for this page is kinda cool and climb to have this texture. Colors in the paper came from the flowers. So it's got a bit different, but it's also being at the same time.
8. Lines for form and textures: And while ago, we use lines to outline your fish. In this time I'm going to show you that you can use shapes to draw the subject that you're like. Yes, you can. This is a simplified example of a sea urchin. And just using circles and dots that you can create outlines which would give it different dimensions to enter illustrations that you like to draw. And if you want to use pencil, the circle are use to outlining first. You can. So we're just using a combination of small beak shapes, the represent, and a subtext that you like to draw. This is a great technique because most of the time when you, This one is dislike outline lines but are really, it doesn't have that very, very flat look to it. So in this trying to combine it, the wavelike dots and little bit of circles around it to form it like a sea urchin. So another example is this starfish. I use as we go. So random lines to create textures. And it's a fun way to outline the shapes in a loose way. So it does look more stylish than if I just draw it with this bunch of lines or this one line drawing and experimenting is the key. This guy silicon, if you want the details to be there and more lines. And if you are minimalist, you can use few lines and let them do also based from your own style. So putting it together, I create corals and sea blends. For this illustration, I kinda like mixing them together and trying different subject to let your creativity flow. So as well as showing lines, I add some lines that will give you a moment to curb lines. Give your illustrations and movements. Compare, if you're drawing will be all straight lines. It kind of make the illustration look stiff. And my drawing, Swain lines a great More moments and stories better than this all straights.
9. Outline to details lines: So I want to go with drawing lines with our imagination. So December I'm going to use a reference. I'm going to draw another kind of fish, but I'm not going to make it super realistic, are photo-realistic. So I'm just going to outline first dislike what I've been doing with my previous examples a while ago I outlined fish. But this time I'm going to stylize it in a way that will look more, a little bit realistic because wonders fish to have some details to it. So this is not unlike the way draw a while ago. There's just a bunch of lines without scale, so it is one. I will be more detailed a little bit to show you that you can create detailed subjects where the combinations of different shades in lines. And this is a fun way because you are going to or you can apply your own style even though you want to look more realistic. So it's not just copying the reference as is. But sometimes you can copy the reference by its shape alone. And then the inside part of your project or your illustration will be more personal touch to it. So using a pen, I'm just going to add some shading to make the visual look more dimensional. It's not super flat, even though I start already trying to do the outline and while ago. So this is fine. It can be time-consuming because you're going to put a lot of details. But I think trying this exercise also, you're going to learn that if for example, you love to do realistic drawing using lines or it is wanting use simple lines to show your styles or illustrations. So in this case is really up to you. You don't have to draw all the fans are all of the scales and strain show you that you can incorporate, I say, objects, even though it's not really your style. Sometimes. In developing styles, you might want to copy some styles and afterwards you will go into realize that, oh yes, this is methane. I don't want to enjoy it so much, but it's good. Or sometimes you may want to draw something you never tried before and after that, you get hooked to it. You like it, and you develop your style with your lines. You do more illustration like that, and then you compare it with your other styles and make complex line drawings. The trach care is to just and draw whatever subjects that you want to draw it, and what skills you want to gain or you want to try in order for your style to come out. Sometimes you are too much. Focus on the style. So by learning and our skills are trying to do realistic line drawings. It can level up also your liner or the recognized said that that's not the style that you wanted to pursue.
10. Quick Sketches: So I'm going to use my fitness Tsukuba, Japan and amusing also Bristol paper for this. Now when you are born advisors to look for a one centered likeness yes, electron or anything that you can think of, just one. And this main example for today's drawing India. And I'm going to think, how many hours, how can I draw this lemon in different ways? So if you're overwhelmed up too many ideas when I tried to draw one subject at a time, but in different ways. Not only it will open up your mind for new adventure, for creative drawing habit, but also wanting your thinking or imagination. That is really great, especially if you're trying to fill up your sketch book or you're just starting to fail your sketchbook. So let's try to draw some have or HoloLens. And how about the trial lemon with leaves? So this is just a very basic line drawings. How about some slides? One's join in a simple way will help you generate enjoying these quickly. And the Chinese drug different slices, double lemons. And you will be amazed of how many you can draw. So this is one of my secret to drawing things when I'm bored. But at same time, I'm relying heavily on references. And doing quick sketches are really great far line drawing exercise. Or I'll try to just change some style to play around with a friend got some lemons. So there's another summer joined years you can try and it's also a challenge because you don't have to use a pencil to draw different kinds or sizes. I should get confidence in drawing lines. It will be really a natural thing that you can do without describing and a pencil. And you can apply this technique or ideas for any subject by thinking outside the box too. And we'll help you gather some more ideas to draw when you avoided. So one subject is equivalent to enlist IDS. So whatever reason, unlikely draw like this because it practice your hands withdrawing curved and straight lines. Sometimes when you are looking for things to draw, you're also training your hands for drawing in his very beneficial for your hand control and muscle memory. And once I have that dilemma remained, man agonists realize it up are emergent or if they suddenly find it hard to draw from your imagination and try to collect subject or pieces can front of you. So I also decided to add some words describing the subjects to create some cohesive illustrations or designs or own the lemons. And this is really a fun drawing exercise.
11. Project: For the class project, you can draw your very own line art, our line drawing in your own style. You have your freedom to choose any subject that you like. You can add colors or use different media like watercolors, markers, as long as you are showing your style, be creative and have fun to subjects that you are truly enjoy. Earth's partner with. And if you'd like to use her friends as you can, I recommend unsplash website if you want to use more inspiration or you spend hours to as long as you don't copy that exact photo or trolling because that's not allowed. So they're like our buddy and I can't wait to see all your projects that you will make.
