About This Class

If you are writing a book for your business, you shouldn’t think of it as a profit vehicle or a way to get on a bestseller's list, (that’s not to say your book can’t do this – it just means it shouldn’t be its primary purpose). Instead, the purpose of your book is leverage.

Your book is like a business card, brochure, or website – an asset you share with prospective clients, partners, investors and the media that will lead to the next conversation, sale, opportunity, or deal.

In this Leverage Your Book: Masterclass, I will teach you 5 Ways You Can Scale Your Business With Your Expertise, So You Can Expand Your Impact, Increase Your Income and Attract Global Opportunities.

1. Leverage Your Book: Introduction: Hey, hey, hey, welcome to the scale up masterclass. I am charisma arrow, high-performance mentor, transformational teacher, and founder of alpha queen, CEO. I teach entrepreneurs and emission different brands how to leverage your brilliance into building wealth so that they can scale their income, impact and influence while connected to their purpose. In this masterclass, I'm going to teach you and share with you five ways. You can leverage a book for your business. And in that way, you can scale your business to the next level. Now this masterclass is for entrepreneurs, business owners, creatives, and service providers, as well as authors or aspiring authors to beat. Now, we imagine is successful authors life to be at elicit, write a book or several, sell millions of copies, sit back and relax in a secluded island. While living off your book wrote. Nothing can be further from the truth. And in this masterclass, I am going to share with you five ways that now you can think outside of the box where you can really leverage your book to a skill, your business. And these ways and strategies is really going to leverage the opportunities to diversify. Ways that you can bring more income into your life and into your business. Let's get started. 2. The Truth...: Now we imagine a successful authors life to be adolescent. Right above are several, sell millions of copies. Sit back and relax on a secluded island living off of your book royalties. The reality couldn't be further from the truth. A typical book author barely makes more than minimum wage. And that's, that's the truth. Statistic show that even though you may receive an advance, 10% royalties of net profit from each book sale. Your book retails for about twenty-five dollars. You will need to sell at least 4 thousand copies to break even on a $5 thousand advance. I'm not saying you can't make money from writing books. But what I'm saying is the likes of John Grisham, Stephen King, JK Rowling, prove you can. However, even if your reality was $1 per book, if you sold $1 million MOM million books, then you could become a millionaire. But few of us can sell a book, as many books as James Patterson or Daniel steals. The average US or Canadian non-fiction book is now selling less than 250 copies per year, less than 3 thousand copies over its lifetime. Say it's publisher Steve potency, and very few titles are bestsellers. Does this mean that you should even give up your dream of becoming a successful author? Of course not. Because you can make a living writing books. Even though if you don't sell a single copy, you can use your book to create relationships with readers and your audience. You can let your book be your ambassador so that others can get to know like and trust you. Your book will open doors and grease the wheels of infinite possibilities for you and for your business and for your life. The truth is, most authors fail because they don't treat their book like a business. A successful business needs marketing to make a profit. If you don't make a profit, you will go out of business. Successful authors understand this. Now consider JK Rowling and her billion-dollar brand, her best-selling book series, where it's turned into a movie franchise, theme parks, a Broadway play, and more. Part of your job as an author is to increase a profitable path to monetize your message. Because if you're anything like me and the clients and I have helped package your brilliance and leveraged their brilliance into building wealth. Whether that's through a program, product or service, or even a book. And beyond that, you can effectively scale your income, your impact and your influence well-connected to your purpose. Then you know how important it is to spread your message and to share the message that you have inside of you. And to really do the work, the divine work and they purposeful body of work that you are called to do. So your book is a tool, your book is a vessel for that message and for that work is just a tool that's going to attract other pseudo work that you are here to fulfill the transformation that you are here to facilitate. Now, authors usually follow one or three paths, strategies, and mindsets when it comes to their book. The first one is the right to his strategy. Second one is the marketer strategy, and the third one is the investors strategy. 3. The Writer's strategy: So let's start with a writer strategy. Indirect strategy. The author focuses on writing a book. Book seals it brings the right is strategy includes traditional ways to make money from their book. However, this leaves money on the table here to traditional ways to make money from a book. First method is direct book sales with traditional publishing. And where you receive an advance or relatives from one book. What a book is a book advances you may ask and advances money that comes from the publishing company when you sign on to be a writer or author with them. Number two, method number two is to generate sales based on the content of your self-published book. This is now where you self-published book using places like Amazon, the Amazon publishing platform to publish your own book. Now a savvy authors look for income opportunities beyond their book sales. The major reason is that limited seals, there's a limited sales capacity of a book. And that is what this masterclass is about. To help you think beyond just your book and the book seals. To think beyond the box. I'm just writing the book just to get your message out into the world. But so that you can have a greater impact, greater influence, and in greater income coming in to your life and to your business. Now consider this. Your book is a marketing tool, not the thing you market. Most authors make the mistake to market their book, that's wrong. The reason is that the book seals are really the primary goal. The primary goal is to use the book to get something else. We'd like to say that authors don't want a book. They want a book that gets them, for lack of a better way to say. For almost all of our authors, they see a book Getting them one of six basic things, 11 is to raise visibility on your profile. Books can improve and increase your visibility in any number of ways. Like make it easier to gain media exposure to raise your profile in your niche, is to increase your authority or credibility. Books help an author established authority and gain credibility within their field and in the marketplace. Number three, get new clients and opportunities. Books can easily help generate new business and other opportunities across a variety of platforms and venues in multiple ways. And we're gonna get into it a little bit further on in the semester. Then before speaking engagements, a book is almost necessities unnecessary city for becoming a page speaker are often getting booked for any public speaking at all. Number five is about leaving a legacy. A legacy is so dear to my heart when we go into businesses, not only about making money is not only about having impact, but it's about leaving a legacy in his world beyond you when you've passed on from his life, what are you leaving behind? What is the legacy that you've created? That generations after generations are going to follow and continue networked at you started. A book can help establish a legacy and pass your story on to others. Number sick six is impact others. This is somewhat covered by the first question, but you can put it here as well. For some authors like yourself, this is often the main benefit is to impact others. The either do not care about what they get from their book of the care than only as a secondary benefit. But note that any book can be effective. It has to impact others is not just the authors place to put a high emphasis in this than others. You just not can't be just can't care about only impact, not about the other things like the income and the influence and leaving a legacy and all these other benefits that I've shared in these six ways. 4. The Marketer's Strategy: Let's talk about the marketing strategy. Now. In a marketing strategy, the author focuses on writing a good book, but it's positioned to lead readers to buy their services to preclude products like an online course. Here are four ways that you can use your book to grow your business by selling products or services. You can solve things based on your book's content. You have an unlimited number of ways to earn money. What do I mean by earning money from your book's content? Several examples include product sales, speaking, gigs, consulting, teaching, pre-sales, crowdfunding, special events, and tour travel tours and beyond. The list goes on and on and on. That is the marketing strategy. 5. The Investor's Strategy: Number three, the investors strategy. Now this is where it really gets to see. This is, this is what I leave my clients to. This strategy, the investment strategy. Not only about writing a good book, It's not only about leveraging the content of your book to create products and services, but the investors strategy now, it's on about when the author implements everything in a marketing strategy. Leverages their book into the higher price products and programs for transformation. Now we're having some real impact. Here's the beginning of the five ways that you can make money beyond your book sales to expand your income, your impact, increase your income and attract global opportunities. 6. #1 Develop an online course: The first way is develop an online course. I touch base a little bit about that earlier, but let us consider developing an online course. Now, you've come to this point and you've packaged up whether that's your expertise, your experience, your knowledge into this book, your message to attract your ideal audience to have an impact. When you create an online course. Now you are taking your audience to the next level. Now if we were to do the math on this, consider, let us say you have $1000 course, you're selling your course for $1000, and this course is based on your book. A very reasonable price. It could even be 997, which is really a 1000 bucks. Now 25 people a month sign up for your course. That is $25 thousand a month. 12 months. You can make $300 thousand a year. If you don't have a course, that's no problem. Your course could contain the same content as your book and help your audience implement what you share in your book. Do you see how that works? Not only rely not relying on book sales, They may be some trickles of sales coming in, but that's not your primary focus. Your focus is yes. Increase your income. Yes, expand your impact. But three is deeper transformation. Now you're taking your audience to the next level to really help solidify what you are teaching in your book. 7. #2 Mentoring, Coaching or Consulting: Number two, consider mentoring, coaching, or consulting as your second way to make money beyond your book sales. Now, how much do you charge? Now the mentoring, coaching and consulting, reading out is a more in-depth container where you take your clients through a process based on your book, maybe forever longer period, content of process, timeframe. And it's a bigger investment. How much do you charge this concluding courses? Coaching a community, live events, even give them technology that would help them help your clients get faster results. Most good coaches charge between a $1000 to $10 thousand per month. Let me repeat that. 1, $1000 to $10 thousand per month. Money math, Let's do that. Let's look at the money. Let's look at the dollars. Let's say you charge $2500 a month. You have a mastermind, you have some type of program, whether that's 90 days, six months, or 12 months, whatever that thing is. Now, if you had ten clients all going through this journey, that's $25 thousand a month, $300 thousand a year. You're servicing less clients at the bigger price point. Because now it's a deeper, more transformative container. And you still come out with making $25 thousand a month, $300 thousand per year. That's just an example. 8. #3 Create a membership site: Number three, start a membership site. The third way to make money beyond your book sales so that you can expand your income. So you can expand your impact, increase your income, and attract global opportunities. The third way is to start a membership site. Now, a membership site is basically an online course that people can get access to the information in your book. Seen people charge any way from $10 a month to $10 thousand a month. But that's up to you. If you were to charge $50 a month, that to 500 members, That's $2500 a month, and that's $300 thousand a year. Now, to create a membership site is a little bit more involved. To build a momentum, you need to have more people in there. But once the momentum is built, you have a solid foundation. You have this reoccurring income with your members coming in continuously and you're making money unchanging lives, and having deep transformation every single month, every single day, every single week. 9. #4 Launch a Mastermind: Number four, and I'm excited about number four. The fourth way to make money beyond your book sales. You can expand your ink pack, increase your income and attract global opportunities, is to create a mastermind. Now your mastermind is like a program on steroids. Most of mine is a like-minded group where people who share a common goal come together. They invest in themselves and their businesses under lives through working with you and enrolling into your mass-to-light. The real value of a mastermind is the group, not the leader and not you per se. The better and more successful to group, the more valuable the master mine. It has a lot to do with who you enroll into your message. What is the expertise, the value, and the knowledge that they're all coming together to pull together, to create that mask to mine, where you are the leader of that master mine. Now let's say you charge $25 thousand per person to 12 people. Again, that's $300 thousand a year. Now, I've been in masterminds that are free and then there's some that it costs $30 thousand. And then there are some costs over a $100 thousand. Masterminds to be in the room at that caliber. So the mass is a great way that you can really leverage your book beyond your book seals. 10. #5 Leverage creative ways: In number five, the fifth way to make money beyond your book sales so that you can expand your impact, increase your income, and attract global opportunities, IS strategising and implementing creative ways to expand your reach. We spoken about developing an online course, doing mentorship and coaching or consulting, started a membership site, create an amide. And number five is a really getting into those creative ways that you can make money beyond your book sales with your book. So the first way you could sell t-shirts, coffee mugs, other promotional products. Or you can offer traveling tours where you take your group of readers to places that inspires your book. Your book is more related to travel. Or you can set up a crowdfunding campaign on sex and indigo goal to raise money for expenses. You can sell exclusive bonus material such as additional or extra chapters, poems or short stories to your website or fiber. You can get advertising income like sell ads based on your, on your book, on sites like what paid futures or try earnings through affiliate programs like Amazon Associates. You can offer a fiction writing workshop or even things like having your book setup to be a lead generator for your coaching consulting or whatever service that you may have. And you can put that on sites like Udemy or even Skillshare so that that can relieve back to your programs, products, and services. 11. Ways to promote your book: That has been five ways I've shared with you where you can monetize your book and go beyond just a book sales so that you can expand your impact, increase your income, and attract global opportunities. Now I'm going to share a few ways that you can actually promote your book. The first way is to create a video trailer. A book is nothing more than a movie you play in your mind. Create a short video trailer to get people excited about your book. You can use tools like Adobe Spark. I'm Anita mortal and muggy XTO to actually create this product where you can actually create this little movie trailer to get people excited about your book. The second way you could do a virtual book tour. Now, people usually have like a big book launch. You can also do a virtual book tour. In addition to sending copies to your book, to book reviewers and book review CEC sites like GoodReads. Create a list of podcasts, tweet chats, and Facebook live sessions, where now you can really attract your ideal audience. Where you can get people starting to talk about your topic. And you can invite them in, into your, this really intimate space for this virtual tour. Another way is to create a Facebook group or fanpage to simply centered around your books topic. So you can create a space where now they can come and engage with you. And finally, build a website. You can create a simple website, simple book or author website on your own for less than a 100 bucks, you can use something like Wix.com and other platforms where it's really focusing on the book and the book content. And then you have an opportunity, you give away a chapter of your book. Then you lead your readers now to get onto your mailing list. And then you can invite them into maybe a Facebook group and where you can start building relationships. And that's where now you can cultivate that engagement, that relationship, into leading them into your online course, your program coaching program, consulting services, membership site, or mastermind and beyond. 12. Conclusion; Leverage Your Book As a Tool for Your Business: So here's the conclusion. You need to leverage your book for your business. Simple. This masterclass is really helping you shift your mindset. If you're an author and an author and you have written in your book, you're in a process of your book. I really want you to shift your mindset when it comes to thinking about your book and your book sales. Leverage your book for your business. If you're writing a book for your business, you shouldn't think of it as a profitable vehicle or a way to generate passive income, even though it may bring some income in, you need to shift your mindset. It just means that it shouldn't be its primary focus or purpose. Instead, the purpose of your book is leverage. Your book. It's like a business card, brochure, a website, an asset you share with prospective clients, partners, investors, and the media that would lead to the next conversation. The next sale, the next opportunity, urban, next potential joint venture. Use your book as a marketing tool. Rather than simply marketing your book. Think about it. How you can use it as a tool to market the rest of your business. Let's take for example, of a book launch. Your book launch. It doesn't have to be a huge event unless you want it to be. But it can be a collection of friends, colleagues, clients, and influencers in your industry. Create an event that gives people an opportunity to enjoy an akin apes bubbly short talks and industry leaders given up something to talk about. You can turn this into a word of mouth, into a free marketing by inviting them to tweet posts on Facebook. Linkedin, tell their friends and colleagues about the event. Your book and your business. Link your book back to your business. If you've chosen the right book idea, which is going to leverage your business and the transformation that you are here to facilitate and solve the problem that they have. Because you have the solution and you've packaged it into a book, it should already be relevant to your business. Here are some ideas. You can create PDF worksheets and templates to support a major points senior in your chapter. You can create printable posters that illustrates your framework. The key points you cover at a glance, you can film some videos with more in-depth content such as industry insights, interviews, or client's case studies that expands on the ideas in your book. You can offer a reader of a discount or bonus if readers sign up to related programs or a workshop with you, workshop with you. If you offer these bonuses in exchange for your readers e-mail addresses, this gives you the opportunity to regularly send them free content to develop your relationship. This is important. You just get to short-term, you got to think long term, you have to think the long game. Another way is to use your book to pre-sell your prospects. Your book is a tool that pre-sales your prospects, rather than working to convince them of your value and holding their hand every step of the way. You simply give your prospects a copy of your book to read for free. You don't even charge them. This way. You answer there pre-sale questions, they learn about you and the way you work. The honored and excited to have been given a book, a free book by you. And they know that you have a solution to a problem that they have, It makes sense. Another way is to expand your reach with endorsements. Now when it comes to leveraging your book, however, it endorsements are a great way to get in front of more people. After all, if someone has taken the time to read your book and write some kind words about it. These demonstrates that they respect to you and your thoughts. Next week is to give away your book to the right people, which we mentioned earlier. First, give your book to your target market. Your book is designed to bring more revenue into your business. This is first priority, should always be about your ideal clients. This means being clear on who they are and where they hang out. You can get free copies of your book into their hands. Then because you've linked to your book, back to your business, they will have plenty of opportunities to contact you to work together. Now the key is shifting your focus. Your book. It's not an income stream. A DOI can be, it is a business card. It leverages your business. Its primary job is to degenerate revenue. Even though that's great. And we've talked about many of those ways that you can write. Its job is to lead to revenue-generating opportunities. This mean thinking as your book as a tool, you can leverage rather as a product that you can sell. 13. Recap: As a recap, in this masterclass, how to monetize a book, I've taught you how you can in five ways. You can make money beyond your book sales so that you can expand your impact, increase your income, and attract global opportunities. I've also shared about the three marketing strategies. The, you can, most of the most book authors establish. But the favorite way is really to investors strategy. Out of all of the three that I recommend that you follow. Secondly, I shared with you how to shift your mindset when it comes to your book, to leverage your book as a tool to increase other income-generating opportunities.
