1. Introduction to the Class: Hello all, welcome to the class. In this class, we will learn how to create a dashboard and distorted in taboo. My name is Vivek and I am your instructor and tablets or default desktop associate as well as tablet desktop especially certified. Regarding the prerequisite for this course, you must have the basic working knowledge of tablet, because here we will focus on how to create a dashboard as well as their story. And also you must have done puts the ASP to learn. What you will learn in this class, you must have the understanding of the glass, how we can create the basic chart. Those charts we will use in the dashboard, the dashboard object model, the containers, how to apply the filters across the worksheet. What are our Dashboard Actions and how to create the story as well as the story points. For the hands-on exercise, we will create a fully interactive dashboard, that is your sales analysis dashboard. So as there is so much to learn here, and I'm super excited to start this class. Thank you. 2. Tableau Introduction: Welcome all. As per the tabula official website, tablet was founded in 2003 as a result of computer science project at Stanford. And tablet was acquired by Salesforce in the year 2019. So what is taboo? There is one of the fastest evolving business intelligence and data visualization tools at the moment. That is user-friendly interface combined with powerful capabilities, makes it one of the most widely used and popular BI tool around the globe. It is helpful to drive the visual meaning from your million rows of data. And it is very easy to start. It is very exciting, it is easy to learn. Now let's open the software and let's see some of the very basic capabilities of Tableau and how it is so much easier to learn. This is the very first screen of Tableau Desktop public addition. And here you have the connectors. So let's connect to the CSV file for 30, you have to use this text file connector. So for example, we want to show the profit for all the categories are subcategories. Then drop the subquery degrees to the columns here, and then drop the profit to the rows, dropped categories to the color here. And also you can define the filter so that only those value will be shown as per your filter choice. You can drop this legend to the left. And also you can change the width to the entire view. You can change this prototype as well. You can format the labels, you can format these parts. You can change the chart type, so there are many things to do. So this is what a basic chart. You see that how easy it is in few seconds we have created this beautiful chart and we can do formatting. We can use other capabilities. Here. We can define the dashboard, stories and all this stuff. So here we have seen that how to create a very basic chart and what are the advantages of this tool? And now let's see what are the disadvantages of Tableau. Tableau Desktop allows you to do and very limited data preprocessing. It means that you can use the joints are blends in your data. You can change the datatype while importing the data to your tablet desktop. But apart from that, you cannot clean the data using Tableau Desktop. For that, you need additional tools that is known as Tableau Prep bidder. So this is one of the disadvantage of taboo that you cannot Our beans the data using the Tableau desktop itself. The second one is the no custom visual imports. It means that you cannot import any custom visual unit to recreate it in Taboo. The third one is they screened resolution on tablet, the dashboard. It means that if you have created a dashboard using some screen resolution, then it can only be viewed properly on the same resolution. You cannot view that on the higher resolution or the lower resolution, it will distort your dashboard. And you need to create a dashboard for desktop and mobile differently. The another one is the no version control. It means that you can only use the recent version. You cannot roll back to the previous version. The fifth one is too expensive, especially tabular server. If you want to, if you want to use the tablet for your organization and you want to set up the tabular server. It is costly. Taboo on Len is the cheaper option if you want to host your tablet edge ports on the Cloud. So these were few of the disadvantages of taboo. So now time for my personal opinion, taboo has more advantages than disadvantages because of the ease of use and easy to learn. And it is one of the fastest-growing be a tool. In the next class, we will start with the level of detail introduction. 3. Software Installation: Hello. In this session, let's see how we can install the software that is your tablet desktop public addition, as well as how we can create a profile on tablet public site. So first, let me go to the URL. From there, you can download the public version of Tableau Desktop. Now, just click on this download Tableau Public, and this is the URL. Download Tableau Public provide the firstName, lastName, business e-mail. You can use any email here, okay, your Gmail, Yahoo, myelinating country, region, and then download that. It will download the application that is your setup, and that is around 45248 a M B. You just need to click on the Next Next, and your software will be installed on your machine. So pretty easy. And then you have to create the profile on the Tableau Public. How we can do it. Click on sign in here. It will just provide you the entire hub login home. From here, I'll go to the tablet public login to Tableau Public. Okay, so here we have to simply do the sign-up. Just do the sign up here, provide the name, email, password, confirm the password, and then region or country. Create my profile. It will create a profile on the tablet public site. And now we have already installed the tablet desktop publication. From there, we will publish the dashboards to the Tableau Public yellow tree. So that's all for this session, and I'll see you in the next one. Thank you. 4. Create Basic Charts: Hello all. Now let's create some of the basic charts that we will use in our dashboard. So we have connected to the Sample Superstore data. The link was already provided to us plan, and from there I used the orders table. So now let's create view of the simple chart. So the very first one, I will say sales over time. And I will create a line chart that will show the sales for each of the continuous month. So I'll drop the order date columns. I'll change it to the continuous month here. And then I'll drop the sales to the rows. Also. I use the filter as ordered it, I did not show that one, so I'll just choose the ears. On click, Okay, here. So that is my very first chart. We will create only the basic chart because of our idea is to learn how to create a dashboard, so forth. The second chart, what I'll do, I'll show the top five products by sales. Okay, before we create this chart, Let's do some formatting of the previous chart. That is change the number format of sales so that it will show the currency here. Default properties. Number format, currency, standard English, US, there should be fine. Currency Custom. This should be 0, display unit should be thousands. That's fine. And then change the formatting here. Right-click on this format. You have the option font. I'll change it to the taboos, semi bold, and then black color. Okay, that's fine. Do the same thing for my x-axis as well. Abuse semi bold and black color to remove the grid lines from here, right-click on this format. You have the rows and grid lines should be none here, so that's gone. Last part is that we just need to give the background color. So for this alcohol here, **** worksheet and I'll choose some color from here. Okay, There should be fine. Now let's create our other chart. So I'll drop the product name to the rows here. And then I'll drop the C's, the columns. And also I need to find out the top five product on the basis of the series. So I'll use the product name to my filter and use third tab up here at the top here. And then by field of five on the basis of the sales click Okay, change it to the interview. And then let's do the formatting. Change this one as the W, semi bold, black color. Same thing we will do it here. Format abuse semi bold and black color. Also just remove the grid lines formatting. This time it is the columns grid lines. So I'll go to the Columns credit line should be none. So now that's gone. Last part is that simple worksheet color sheet here, background and this was the color chosen. I believe. That was this one. Let's see. Let's copy that one. So how to copy? Simply click on the More Colors and then I'll copy this guy. Okay, So that should be fine. Now let's create another sheet that shows the sales by escaped. And here I will simply drop the country to my view. As well as I drop this state to my view here. I'll change the background maps to the light. Okay, So that should be fine. And also I'll drop the sales to my color here. Okay, and also use the region. So I'll drop the region to the Filters. Select all click Okay. I will not show that one, and I will hide the card from here. Background also will apply to the sheet. So again, right-click on this format. Okay, so now it's fine. You can see from the header, okay, that we have applied the color. Okay, So last chart, or I will see second last chart, I'll rename it as a sub category sales, which will show the sales for each of the sub k degree. So I dropped the subcategory to the rows here. Then I'll drop the series. The columns are, let's just swap the rows and columns. Okay, there should be fine. I'll apply the sorting just to the formatting here, simple format. And then first is the, let's do the worksheet. Color here, more colors there, That's done. Grid lines. If there are any, remove that none. Okay. Format, font will be my taboos, semi bold. And the black color. Same thing with the Harris will format abuse semi bold and black color. Okay, that should be fine. Change it to the interview. Okay, So that is my fourth sheet. Now let's create the fifth sheet and then we will jump to the dashboard creation part. I rename it as a KPI. And then it will show me the profit, sales quantity, as well as the discount. Discount will be my average discount. So let's change the default properties, Aggregation to average here. I hope it is fine as we will change it. Okay, so the easier way to do it, Let's drop the Get degree to the roles here. And then I'll drop the sales to the text here. Also, I'll drop the profit. Profit also change it to the currency. Right-click on the profit. Before properties. Number format, currency, standard, that's fine. Currency Custom 0, decimal places, display unit thousand. Okay, That part is done. Now I have to get the average discount as well as the quantity. I dropped the quantity as well. Okay, that's fine. And then I have the average discount that need to be change in the percentage. So again, number format and percentage, okay, two decimal places there should be fine. Okay, so now that is my discount. That is my average discount. To create like a piano. I just removed the degree from the rows. Now this measure name, that should be part of my exterior soil. So I press the Control and drop the mission name to the text here. Okay, There should be fine. And then simply I will hide the label here or show just uncheck the Show Header. Now just a few formatting steps. Go to the text here. This should be, let's say 18. This one should be taboo semi board. There should be fine. This one also, let's change it to the tabular semi bold. Okay? Nice filtering alignment should be in middle. Okay, So that is also fine. Okay, now change the background color. That is the I go to the format here, right-click on this, you have the option format. Sheet, worksheet color, same what we copied. And then I do not want these two lines. So simply, again, format. That is my column divider, rule divider, it is my Roboto, change it to the none here. So that's gone. Also, change this discount to average discount here. So simply I'll change the alias here, or I'll apply the ideas for third is count one. I will say average discount. Okay, Now that's fine. Also, let's change the let's increase the font. Maybe due on day two, and that should be fine. Okay, not that looks fine. So I think we're good. And then we have already created all the sheets. So in the next tutorial, we will see how to use these sheets to create the dashboard. So thank you for joining this tutorial, and I'll see you in the next one. 5. Dashboard Creation: Hello, all. In this session, we will see that what other dashboards in W and how we can create a dashboard? Dashboard is a collection of the views that are built from different dimension measures or altogether from a different data sources. Views. We have already seen that how we can create a charts and taboo. And today we will see that how we can organize those charts to create a dashboard. So let me open the Tableau desktop. Okay, so in today's session we will see that how we can create this dashboard. Okay, So let's first see that. What are the views we have? This is simple, our sales over time. That is your line chart that shows the sales what each of the continuous month. Then we have their top five product by sales. So it shows just the software product depends on the sales in the filter. If I added the filter, you will see that I just use the top condition that gave me their top five product and that is by the sales. So Sum is the aggregation here. So simple, simple views I have created nothing fancy here. Just we want to understand that how we can use these views in your dashboard. Sales by state, again, simple. That is your third map. And here we see we use the sales, that is sales by state subcategory cell. Again, very simple view, that is simpler bar chart and here I sorted that on the baseline. The last view is that KPI. And if I just show it here, so it shows you all the important data in your dataset. For example, in my entire dataset, I have the profit of 26 thousand sales quantity and average discount, whatever the values I have in my entire dataset as a scope that I show, I have shown in the KPI shoot. So that all we have seen in the previous sessions that how we can create these simple charts. Now, our motivates that we need to understand that how we can create a dashboard and then use these charts. So this is the final dashboard that we're going to create in this session. And here you will see that we have the title and then we have the KPIs. I have this gate by sales, then I have the subcategory sales of five products monthly basis and also I provided the follicle. So whenever you change the filter over, all of these charts should be impacted. Okay, so that is will be my final dashboard. Now we will see that how we can create this dashboard. So the very first step is that you need to choose the dashboard here. So first is that click on this uniform is quiet. Click on this. This is assembled for the new dashboard, or you can go to the dashboard and then click on the new dashboard. You know that in tab you can do the same stuff from multiple places. Okay, So once you have chosen this option, that is the new dashboard, after that, you see multiple options here in the left navigation. You find that there are multiple options here. What are these? Very first is that you have to select the size that what should be the size of your dashboard. So ideally it should be what I use personally, it is the 1200 by 800, okay, so it will fit in most of the screens. Else you can also just use the automatic where it will resize to fit any screen displayed on. But in ideal scenario it doesn't happen normally because if you publish that to W public and all, it simply break. So what I suggest that you use the fixed size and then I always use 1200 by 800. But again, it depends. It depends on your business requirement that what should be the size of your Canvas. Okay, so that is your very first step. After that, all the sheets are all the views which are present in the workbook will all be listed here. So these are the five sheets in my workbook. Okay, all are listed over here. After that I have the object which I can use or which I should use to create the dashboard. So at the containers horizontal, vertical so that we will use extensively. Then add the text object, images, web pages, blank, navigation, download, also third party extension as well as task data. These are all the objects what I have in my dashboard. And then you have they're tired as well as floating means that you have the object we just fixed to this dashboard, width or height. Okay, so whatever your size of their dashboard, you're tired, object will fit to that size. These are not overlapped to each other, floating as the name suggests, it floats. Okay, These object with float on top of another. You can do that one as well. If you want to show the dashboard title, you can click on this button. Normally I do not use that one as well. I use the extra object to show the dashboard title. Okay, So very first step is that we have seen that we have to first use the size, okay, to provide the size of your dashboard. After that, our first step is that we need to use the containers. Okay, so what are the containers as the name suggests, container means that it contains your other object as well as your views. Okay, so very first step is that you have to use the container here. So before you started the technical implementation of the dashboard, first, you need to understand that how your views will be placed, okay, So firstly, spend few minutes to understand that you know where you want to place each of your components here. For example. This is my entire canvas here. And let's say on the top I want to provide the title here. And after that, I want to show my photo. Let's say here. Because as per the good design practice, your most important components should be at your leftmost. Okay, so I believe that vectors are the most important in this scenario. Okay, so I'll use that filter at the leftmost. After that, I want to show my map here, that is my sales. By state. This guy. After that, I want to show my top five or sub category sales. Okay, this, I want to show it here. So it means that whatever we have seen that the final dashboard, so it's same thing we want to replicate here. After that, I have are two more views. That is, you're okay, we mistake APA. Apa should go here after your title. Here somewhere, It's the KPI. Again, two more views. It will be here, sales over time as well as newer product, okay? And KPI is you're here. Okay. So we have to arrange the views in this patient, what we discussed. Okay, So now, okay, so now let's see that how we can do the very first thing is that we have to use the containers here. And as you see here, horizontal means that your views are placed OPR, other objects are placed one after another. C here. Your vertical means that your views or other objects are placed one below another. Okay, So if you have any confusion, just see that what this image shows here. Now let's try to map this dashboard with respect to the container. So if you see here, if you see my parent container or the first most container here, this is my vertical container. Why? Because if you see that very first object here is your text box for your text object here. And after that I have the k period after that also have two views and also tubules. So it means that my all the views or object that arrange one below another. That's why my very first view is the container is the vertical container. Okay? So now this is mine. First one is my text object. After that I have the KPI sheet here. This one. This is my KPI issued. After that. If you see here this character, what it is, it is the title. So it is not the default title. It is their title. Like your sales analysis. When I say it means that says analysis, it means that these other title that is the text object here. Okay. So prepare is the text object is statewide sales, that is also your text object. And then you have the subcategory sees. So all are your text object. And after that you have the food nerves here, here you have the view and here as value of the view. So what we have done, if you see here, the first one is my multiple container in that I have to Object. And after that, what I have done, I have just bring one horizontal container. Why? Because I have that 3D object here. That is why this is my horizontal container. But if you see here in set horizontal container, I have vertical container. Why? Because you see that this is my first object. This is my second object. Okay, sometime I save us to object Tokyo, but please do not get confused. Similarly here as well as the first object and then this is my second object. So if you have paid attention here, so what we have done, the very first one is my horizontal container. This is my horizontal container, right? Why have chosen that? Because I have used, that is one after another. That is first 1, second, 1, third 1. But in that as well, I have the object that is one below another. Second. This one is also false. This one is second. Okay, So it means that I have the horizontal container in that I have the vertical container. Same thing here as well. I have the horizontal container which contains 12 these views and then have the vertical container that contains your title as well as your view. Okay, So that we will do it from scratch. Okay, so let's understand it, how we can do that. So the very first part we have done that is the, I have selected my size of the canvas. And after that I need to use the container. So if you go to Layout, write notes in the item hierarchy, there is nothing. Okay, So now the very first step is that it should do a vertical container because we discussed already. So if you put it here and I'll use the floating because it will give you more control in placing the abuse. So that is my floating container. If I go to Layout, I just need to fix my height and width so that my aunt, that Canvas will be occupied. So the position will be 00 and my width will be 1200 by 800. Precisely the same what I've chosen for my dashboard size here. Okay, so as you see that I have the vertical container in that what I have to do, I have to use the text object. But if you note here, if I drop it in this, it will be like only at that place. But if you read it here, hold down Shift to draw a floating object into this container. So what I would do, I just press the Shift on my keyboard and then I drop that extra object here. And now I provided the name as sales analysis dashboard. Some of the formatting I'll do, I will select this one and then I want this as abuse Sammy board or maybe type you bold here. Size will be 18. Also, I will center it. Will center it. And then let's change the foreground color as well to white because I want to give the background is blue. So right now you will not see anything because the color is white itself and the background is also white. So what I'll do, I'll go to layout here and then have something called as background. In this, I chose the blue color here. Okay, that is my very first object here. After that, what I have to do, we can refer it from here. I need to use my KPI view. So I'll go to dashboard. And now as it is part of the verticals, So I do not need to do anything simply, I need to drop the APA view here. But again, in this scenario as well, I need to press the shift because my initial container was the floating one. So press the shift here and then drop it here. If you see that, you will see something like three centimeter gray bar, just drop it here so that it will be come just below this. It will be not same container. So this title, I do not want to show it. I right-click on this, hide their title. This I have this sum is space available here. So what I'll do, click on More Options and then you're the fit interview. Okay, and that we will cover the entire view. So I will say fixed width here. Yeah, perfect. So to object has been placed and after that, what I have to do just see, right not to object here I have. And if I go to final, I have done horizontal containerize we discuss because it contains the three objects here when it's Peter and tubules. So I will drop the horizontal container here. Again, I need to press the Shift again three centimeter gray bar to drop it here so that it will be within your vertical container, outermost container, right? So this is my horizontal container. If you want to verify, go to the Layout tab and just see that you have the horizontal container within your vertical container. Very good. So now what we will do, I just need to have a one more horizontal container so that mother to view will be placed on that container. So I'll drop the horizontal container again. Here, three centimeter grandma, just drop it here. So now I have these two horizontal container, right? So knowing that what I have to do, I have to drop the three vertical containers. Why? Because that contains two object that is one below another. Okay, So again, I need to press the Shift and I dropped the vertical container within this container, right now you will see that it will just come within this container, that is your horizontal container. Drop it here. So this is your very first vertical container. In case of confusion, just go to the layout and just see that in my horizontal container, I have a single vertical container. Similarly, I want to add two more vertical container here. Again, press Shift, and I will not drop it here as it will be within the vertical container, but I have to place it within the horizontal containers, so drop it here. You will see that this two or three centimeter gray bar drop it here. So I have the two container within my horizontal container. I also need one more. So again, I'll press the Shift and I'll drop it here. Okay, You can you can drop it anywhere. But you have to see that it should be part of your original horizontal containers. So wherever you see that two centimeter gray bar, just drop it here. My bed. Let me do control Z here. Shift because I just love Left Shift button here. I dropped this multiple container here itself. Okay, so now I have the three vertical container in case of confusion, you can also provide the border. Okay, so you know that you have the three vertical container you have already placed and later you can remove the border. So now you see that you have three vertical container here. Same thing you have to do here with the two vertical container, okay, so horizontal container we have already placed. See now how clean it is. I have one vertical container in that I have the sales analysis dashboard, that is my title. I have the key PA view. I have the horizontal container that itself contains the three vertical container. And then you have the horizontal container in debt also, i'll I'll just drop two vertical containers. So again, I press the Shift, do not forget and drop it here. It will be inside your horizontal container. And one more I need to drop if you want to provide the water in case of any confusion. I think some background color, I just need to provide the border here of the background should not be like, Okay, that's fine. Borders should be. Okay. So now I need to draw one more vertical container. Press shift here and drop it three centimeter, two centimeter gray bar. Drop it here. If you want to provide the border, go to Layout water. So Nancy, just see that how clean it is. Okay, that I have the horizontal in this, I have three vertical in this horizontal to vertical layout we have designed. So now what I have to do, I have to just drop the views here. Okay? So this one, the very first one, I want the my-map sales by state. So simply I will drop it here, but again, I need to press the shift here. Robert Hare. As you know that I do not use this title. That's the default title of my sheet. Rather than I will use the text object so that it will be like, same look and feel here. What do you see in ourselves analysis dashboard, dropped again, shift here and drop the title here you see that three centimeter, two centimeter gray bar, but with the same width. Okay, what's the width of your container? Drop it here. This is why it's state is created by cells. Just like this, this one and change it to the semi bold. I'll change it to ten here. For grown should be white because in the background, I'll use the blue color. Go to Layout, change the background to blue here, and then I will hide this title. One part is done. If any confusion, I do the same step. 123 more times. Okay? So now again, I use here mine, which should let me go to the final subcategory sales, drop this sheet or this view here. And also I'll use the same method what I used here to provide the title to this view. So I use the text here and then drop it here. You see that again, two centimeter, three centimeter gray bar, Robert Hare. And it will be my sub category. Sales. Just select this one, change it to the semi board, whatever we used there so that it will be consistent. And then the color will be white. Go to the layout. That crunch should be view. I do not want to show this title, so I will hide this one. Same thing I have to do here as well. And here mess around. View will be sales over time. Drop it here. Press Shift. Again. I need to use my own title. Okay. Or custom title. I'll send monthly sales. Change it to the semi bold, change it to ten here. Let's use the foreground. White. Go to the Layout, change the background color blue. Same thing what we have done in the previous meals. We are doing the same here as we'll hide the title. And my final view will be my product here. So I'll drop the text here so that I can just provide the title of quite wrote up here. Same formatting, change it to the semi bold. Size will be ten. For the ground will be white here. And then this one, the background will be view. And just drop the view that is your product here. So again, you have to press the Shift and drop it here. Hide their title. Just read just the sides here. Okay, so if you see, if you go to final, we have achieved little bit, you know, almost 80 per cent what we have cocci finally, few things here we need to provide the filter. And filter also has the title. You can see that filters. So now again, we will do the same thing. Press the Shift, drop the title. In this. It will be filters. Change it to the Sami board. Pen. And foreground will be white here. And background will be. Okay. So if you see here, we have provided the border to all of this vertical containers. If you want to remove that, you can remove it's up to you, but it is not looking bad. Okay. So I'm not removing it as of now, later if we want, we will remove it. Okay? And then filters, we need to enable the filters because see here you have the filter that is the region as well as the ear. If we call overviews, the region FUTA, I get it from my sales by state and my IIR filter, I'll get it from my sales over time sheet. So again, I'll go to the dashboard and then for the state by cell, I select the view here. Then you will see that this button, okay, that is the More Options. Click on this, go to the filters and you will see the regions, okay, Because region per liter we have used in the state versus just click on this. So now if you see here, the filter has not been added, but if you try to see like there is something is added behind it. Okay, so what happens that if you see below AB us edit few containers and all the dystrophin which we do not need. So what I'll do, I'll click on the selected region because that's the filter. Okay, we are fixing that. What w has messed up because I want my filter will be shown over here. Not behind this book is something has tablet has added behind it because we have not used the title and all that. Okay, So anyways, we will fix that one. The selected region, I will right-click on this. I will say that floating, Okay, so that it will shown over here. So now what I will do, I will do, I will simply put it over here. I'll press the Shift and then I'll put it over here. So my filter has come at the right place. Okay? But if you see here, W has ordered all this, this horizontal and all the district, which is not required because my final will be this horizontal container. And in that I have to work to convert content. That should be fine. I do not want anything this I will right-click on this. I will say remove container. If I see here there is styled. I do not want as this as well, remove container. This vertical because I already removed the test or I already shift my filters to the left. So I do not want this guy. I can simply remove from dashboard. Okay? So now if we again see that one, Okay, perfect. The hierarchy should be, okay. It should be called no, horizontal, vertical and two vertical and I have the region filter over here. Okay, I need to use the filters, so that is part of my sales over time or monthly sales. So again, I will click on this and then have the option filters, and then you have the ear of order date. This time Tableau has not matched up and added the filter at the right place. Okay, so what does the phosphatase will be my drop down. That is a multi-select dropped on. Okay, so let's do that one as well. Select this photo, then you adoption might people value drop-down? There should be good here, okay, that is fine. That is fine. The only thing, the only thing which, which we have, cool. Okay, Let's do one more thing. Let's set the container. That is my horizontal container. Again, just change the width here. Okay? So now what I have to do, the background, if you see here, the background of this is white, but if you see two over final dashboard, the background is same. What the background I have for the different views. So I just need to change the background of my dashboard. So what I can do, I can go to the dashboard and then have the format. Here. I need to provide the shading, okay, That's what should be the background. But I do not know precisely what color it is. So what I can do, I'll go to any of the sheet here, okay, and then go to the format or right-click on this. I have the option for material worksheet that I go to the first in color one and then Worksheet more colors. And then this HTML code, I will simply copy this one. Click Okay here. Now I'll go to the dashboard. Okay, I'm already here in the format. Okay, That's called the worksheet. I go to dashboard format here, shading and then more color. I'll copy my HTML code here, whatever I copied from the previous view, click. Okay, so my background color has also been as also being changed here. So that is third dashboard. We have created only thing what it is missing. If you have notice, you have this new blue line here. Just before these views, you have the blue line. So do few things here. Okay, Let's do the first, let's remove the border from all of these containers. Okay. Select the containers. Go to the layout. Water I do not want I added the border so you can understand that these are the border for the containers. So I just select the container from here, border, none. This third container border and then none here. There should be fine. Now, this container vertical borders should be none. Water should be none here. So just, I remove all the models here and also just provide the line before, before these three objects. So I'll go to the dashboard for that. I can use the blank, blank object here. Again, I press the Shift, drop it here between these two. That is your three views, or I will say horizontal container and the KPI view here. Okay? And then I just need to provide the height of it. So it is, it should be around ten. Let's try. And let's keep the color is new here. Background color will be blue. Should be fine. If I go to in the final yeah, that's should be fine. And this is also fine. The only difference is that in the previous one, I use the size as the genetic test probate is 1366 by 768, and here I use the 1200 by 800. Okay, So this is the way to create a dashboard. And now if you want to apply the filter, for example, if I just apply this filter out, just play with this filter. It only applied to this view. But if I want to apply this filter to the entire dashboard, so what I can do, I can simply click on this more option. Apply to worksheets. Selected worksheets. Here let's say I do not want to apply this to the KPI. Apart from that, I want to apply this for each of the view here. So I select all w's and then I just do not. I will not select the JPA click. Okay? And now if I just, you know, uncheck any of this, you will see that all of this will be modified. Similarly, we have to do the same for the region factor as well, because right now only this one is impacted. But I want to just use the same period that across all w's except your KPI. So what I'll do is click on this drop-down, small one or more options button. Then I have applied the worksheet. Same thing what we have done for the IIR filter selected worksheet. I will select all except KPI. Know if you see here. Very good. So this is the dashboard which we have created where we use the vertical and horizontal containers. That is also the floating. So all the object here, all the views we have used here as a floating object. Okay, I hope you understood it. You like this one. And then in the next session we will see that how we can provide the interactivity to these views here. Okay, So thank you guys and stay healthy, stay blessed. Thank you. 6. Apply Filters to Multiple Worksheets: Welcome. In this tutorial, we will see how we can apply the filter to all the views here. So right now what is happening if I uncheck this all only this monthly sale will be impacted because I pulled this filter from this sheet. But my requirement is that whenever I play with this filter or change any values here, all my sheets will be impacted, right? Similarly for the region as well, if I simply uncheck this only this will be impacted because again, I pulled the region filter from my state by sales. But again, what my requirement is that whenever I change any of these values, my oldest sheets will be impacted and only this will not be changed. My CAPM will always remain as is. Apart from that, all my views will be impacted. So now let's see how we can do that one. If you see here, if I select any of the photo, I have the option, More Options. Click on that. You have that applied to worksheet. I will say selected worksheet here. By default it is only this worksheet. That's where you will see this behavior. But if you change it to the selected worksheet, then I check all this worksheet and I just will not do for the KPI. Same thing I have to do for the region factor as well. So click on the More Options apply to worksheets, selected worksheets, and then I will choose all the worksheets where I want to apply this filter. Click Okay. So now whenever I change the year or whenever I uncheck any of the ear from here, all my worksheet is being updated. Similarly for the region as well. Now whenever I uncheck any of this filter or make any changes here, all my worksheet will be impacted. So that's all for this tutorial. And here we have seen how we can use the same food for the multiple worksheet or apply the same parameter to the multiple worksheet. So thank you for joining this tutorial, and I'll see you in the next one. Thank you. 7. Dashboard Actions: Hello, all In this session, we will see that what are the dashboard action and how we can enable that. So now let's suppose my requirement is that if I click any of the street map, corresponding monthly sales chart will be updated. For example, if I click on that axis, then it will only show their texts or sale. So how we can enable that interactivity. So for that, I need to go to the dashboard and then I have the option actions. Click on that. And then I will say addiction field direction. So now I need to provide the Associate as well as their target sheet. So my soul sheet will be my map. So it will be sales by state. And then my target sheet with B cells over time. So now we have too few options here. If you see here a reflection on whether, whoa, what's selector menu over means that when you hover over any of the state, then this action will be triggered. Select means that if you select any of the state, only then that action will be triggered. So in this scenario, we want the select here. So give the name for the filter. Okay, so now clearing the selection will keep filter value show all well you exclude all values. So now let's see one-by-one, all these options, what they are. So let's say if I use keep return values, okay, so now if I click on any of the state, okay, so that is my California cell. So now even if I remove the selection, I press the escape is still, it shows the California cell. If I click on the Texas cell, so this is my taxes sales. If I click anywhere else to de-select, it will again, audit will continue to show that texts are so lonely because what we have chosen, let's again go to the section and then added this section. What we have chosen key fitted values. If we select the show all values, then you will again see the sales over time for all the states and exclude all values as the name suggests, it will not show anything, okay, it will exclude all the values. So now if you select any of this state, okay, so that is my Texas cell. But if you remove the selection, you will see that now again, it has come to the original state. This is my California cell. If I unselect or deselect that one, you will see that this is my original sales, monthly sales over time for all the states. So that is the use of the direction. Okay, So other requirement, what I have when I hover any of the bar, then the corresponding subcategory will be highlighted on this view. Okay, because these product belongs to one subcategory here. Okay? So whenever you hover above, the corresponding sub category will be highlighted on this view, how we can accomplish it. So for that, I'll go to the dashboard. Again, actions, actions. And this time I will use the highlight section. So I would say highlight subcategory. So in this scenario, my soul sheet will be my five product per sales. Because when I hover any of the bar, the corresponding sub category will be highlighted from my subcategories sale sheet. And this time I will run the section on homework. Okay, so that's only we have to do. Click Okay, click Okay. Now when you see that, when you hover any of these bars or any of the labels here, corresponding sub category is being highlighted. So that is the use of the highlight section. Okay, so my third requirement is that whenever I click on this one, menu will be open. When menu will be open. And that says to go to the textiles Wikipedia page because right now I'm in Texas. So whatever the state I'll select. Okay, it will ask me or it will show me the link to go to the Wikipedia page for that state. So now how we can do that one. For that, I need the link of the Wikipedia page, so I simply go to the Google or type B t California or anything organic state. So I get some link over here. So now if you observe this is my static for all the state, it will remain common. And then this is being changed. California, texas, Florida, whatever, because only the, this part is changed. So we will make it dynamic. So this part will be passed from my sales by state or statewide sales of view. So simply copy this URL. And then I create another action. This time, I will say go to URL. Okay, and muscle sheet will be sales by state. This time that an action on the menu. And I will say, go to here, I can provide the name of the state, okay, so simply if you go to insert, you will find the dimension as well as the measure which you have used in the, in the dashboard. So here I will have the state. So go to this date. Vicki. Menu, there should be fine. You are along whatever we have copied, just paste it over here and this is your dynamic value. So again, I will remove this one. And then from the Insert, I'll say replace it with this state here. Okay, so that will be my URL. Click, Okay. Click Okay. Now if you see here, if I click any of the state, you see there is one more link. Go to Texas V key. Click on California. Go to California with New York. Go to New York quickly. Okay, so let's suppose you click on the go-to Texas Wiki. So what will happen? Your Wikipedia site will be opened in a browser tab. So that is the use of the go-to URL. Now, let's say if I want to, if I click on this, if I click on this, then I want this or this to be navigated to my top five products per sales view. Okay, so whenever I click on this, it will navigate to my top five product by sales. So how we can achieve that one? So again, I'll go to the Dashboard Actions, and this time I will use the action as a go-to sheet. Now on which again the associate, same thing what we have seen previously. This time my associate will be taught by product, by sales. Then don't action on select, there should be fine. What should be my target sheet? So when I click any of the bar, it should navigate to which sheet or dashboard. Okay, So in this scenario I visit our product per sales. Click Okay, click Okay. So now when I click on this, now you see that it does come to this sheet. So that is the use of the go-to sheets section here. So now we have seen few action type. That is your third direction highlight section, and go to URL and go to sheet. Now this is our fully interactive dashboard. Because when you click on this, it will just fit wrote them monthly sales. And then it will also provide you with the killing. That is, you're getting that is, go to a state with you. And then what we have done, if you click on any of the bar, it will go to the top five productive. Your sheet. If you hold what Dell product, then corresponding sub category will be highlighted here. So that's all in this session. Thank you for joining this one, and I'll see you the next one. Thank you. 8. Create a Story: Hello, all. In this session we will see that how to create these stories. So what is this taurine taboo is Tories are the connected series of your views or dashboard. And in stories you have this story points. And in one story point, you can either have one view or one dashboard. So let's see how we can create a story points are the storyboard. So to create the story, you have this icon right? Open-book. Just click on this. Or you can go to the story and then click on the new story. Same thing. So now that is my interface for the stories. So what we have seen in the dashboard, it does not have that much features that you showed the views or the dashboard in the connected series of this story points. So let's see how we can do that one. Okay, So before that, let's create a sheet that shows the sales for each of the region. So for that I dropped the order date to the columns and then I'll change it to the continuous month. Then I dropped the sales, and then I dropped the region to the color here. Okay, so that is my regional sales for each of the ear. So simple. Do the formatting, change the font, food taboos, semi bold, change it to the black color. Same thing we would do it here. Format, Font, semi bold, black color. Remove the grid lines. Okay, so now that should be fine. So I want to show the, each of the regions says in a separate story point. Okay, So now what we will do, I'll drop the original says to here. And from here, I just want to see the central region sale. So I will say keep only. Okay, So now it will show me the center region sale and also I can write the caption, central region sales. Similarly, I can have a multiple storypoints. Simply I will say blank. So it will be the new story point. And here I will say though, let's drop the view. And I will say East region sales. I will say keep only. So it will apply just operator. Okay, We want to more story points so simply you can duplicate that one or you can click on the blank. If you clean called the blank and then drop this one. And what we can do, we can have this as a salt region sales. And I'll duplicate that one. Duplicate this one. And this time I'll save West region cells. Okay, So for the South Region Sales, I will use this and I say keep only for the West region. Again, I will sit and keep only. These are all my story points. Give the name as a Regional Sales Center, this one, change it to the board. Okay. So now that should be fine. And what I want to do, I want to just apply little bit formatting here. So right now you'll see that this is my center region sailed east, south, and west. And initially I told you that you can also have the dashboard as a story point. So how we can do that? Click on blank, and then I can directly use the dashboard which I created. Okay, So now you see that I have used their dashboard, my story point, dash. Okay, So this is the way you can use the dashboard as well in your story point. But finally, I do not want that one. So how to delete that? I click on this, you have the option that is there, delete, click on that. Now that's gone. So now let's see few of the formatting is steps here. First is that you have the, you can also have a checkbox here, no checkbox or textbox here. Okay, For example, this is the central region sales and it has done pretty good in the month of September. You can write some text over here. So for that, I simply drag this box and I will say, awesome sales. Okay? So what I can do, I can do the formatting for this, okay, I do not want this border and all that stuff. So how we can do the formatting for the textbox? Simply, I go to the story, I have the option format. So these all I can do the formatting for only for these objects. Okay, so what all we can do, Let's see, for the text object shading, I do not want, I'll change it to the non hair border. I do not want I'll change it to none here. So now you see that, now it looks like a part of the same canvas. Similarly for the Navigator who gave, foresee that how you can change the Navigator. Let me close the format is story. And then if you go to layout, if you go to the layout, then you have the option to change the navigator style. Right now these are the caption boxes, but you can change it to the numbers. You can also change it to the dots. Also, you can change it to the add only. In this scenario, it will say that you are on, which is 30 out of how many story points. Okay, so let's change it to the caption boxes and now let's see how we can format the navigators trial. So again, I'll go to the format is story, then format. And then in the navigator I can change the font. You see that this is the font here. So I said that change it to their tablets semi bold black color or whether it should be fine as well as the shading by default, so gray, I want to change it to the orange nucleus. So that is my formatting for the navigator box. Similarly for the title as well, I can do the formatting. Let's suppose I want to change it to This one, okay, so that I can, I can have this color. And also for the entire story as well, I can change the color to maybe this, this guy go to the shading and then I change it to this color. So now you see that this has not been changed because this is coming from my views are for my, from my worksheet. So what I can do simply a copy this code. And then I can go to my regional sales format, sheet, color, more colors. And then I copied this color code here. So now that should be fine. So now you'll see that I have the same color for my views as well as my stories. Apart from that, if you want to change the formatting for the title as well, you can do it from here. So that's all the pretty options that you can use to have voice stories as well as this story points so you can enable the formatting, okay, the options, what we have seen, you can drag and drop the views the way we have done it. You can also use the dashboard, the way I've shown you. So that's all for this tutorial, and I hope you enjoyed that one. Thank you. 9. Publish to Tableau Public: Welcome all. So first of all, congratulations. You have completed all the sessions here. This is our last session. And in this we will see that how we can publish the work, what we have done that is your stories dashboard, all the individual chart to the tablet public. For that go to the file. You have two options. Save to Tableau Public. For you. It might ask for the credentials. You have to provide the same credential what you did set up when you created the profile on the tablet public gallery. Okay, so once you click on the Save to W public, it will ask for the authentication information. You have to then provide the workbook name probably. And then w's will be published to the Tableau Public. So now here you can see all the sheets. What we have created dashboard is stories and all that one. In case you are not able to see all the sheets. Simply go to the settings and then click on this toggle button, show sheets, then you will be able to see all the sheets here. So that's all for this class. And here we have seen that how we can create the dashboard in the best possible way. How you can create the story is how you can enable the interactivity is between your dashboard views. And that's all for this class. And I hope you enjoyed that one. Hope now you understood the right way to do all that stuff. So thank you all for joining this class and have a great future ahead. Thank you.
