Learn How to Draw Birds and add them in Your Paintings : A 15 Day Exercise to Level Up Your Artworks

1. Hello & Welcome back!: Every time we finished watercolor landscape, most of us tends to add some bolts onto the sky. They instantly are a lot of life and energy travel paintings. But there are at least few are few who always think twice or thrice before adding them. You guys must be worried about whether it will look like a real world or you might not be sure about where to put them or how big or how many you should be adding. I'm pretty sure some of you may have skipped adding them, fearing you may spoil and otherwise decent looking landscape painting. This is absolutely normal if you're a beginner because I have been there and I can totally get to you. Hello everyone. My name is Janine, an appeal. I'm a mother, an artist, and an art instructor. Being a mother of a one-year-old, I don't really get a lot of time during my T to create art. But I must see motherhood had a great impact on me, both in a general sense and our district rulings. Nowadays and more genuinely invested in the process of creating. And I started using lifetime moving through time before. And the same recent kept me pushing towards what a glut challenges BUT practices very important if you're somebody who's trying to grow. If you are a regular student of my Skillshare classes, you would know I just wrapped up a 30-day watercolor challenge where I teach how to do totally different skies, have some totally different color competition. So it is from that class I realized drawing board or something that scares most of you. So here I have come up with a unique idea of an exercise we used to challenge, which will run source of D&D starting from today. Every day we will do an exercise. We'll start off with a warm-up exercise, then gradually with the progress through different varieties of boats. I don't want to overwhelm you with a lot of information at a single time. That means carryover for them even before. So I don't want to do that. We will take it slow every day. We will have an exercise. And incorporating that exercise, we'll be doing a painting. Trust me, this exercise please challenge is going to have a lot of impact on your watercolor paintings. It will help you level up your watercolor skills and it will automatically add a lot of energy and life to your paintings. We'll be discussing so many tips and techniques throughout this challenge. And I guarantee you, you will be a lot more confident and drawing your first when he finished his challenge. When you leave the sky empty, you can almost feel the silence. Let's break that silence by adding some thoughts on this guy and keep it more life and energy. I can already hear the echo of birds singing to the sky. Are you ready to experience the scene? If it does, I guess join me right away. Let's start with the first exercise. 2. About this Course: Before we dive into the exercises and projects, let me give you a quick idea about how the class is going to be an overall structure of this challenge. So we'll be starting with a warm-up exercise. This exercise is mainly to take away that fear from you and make your hands loosen up and gain some muscle memory through that, we'll simply play with some shapes. Take it as easy as possible, make as many mistakes as you want. The shapes you're going to draw in the warm-up exercise doesn't need to look like a pod. So that's all about the warm-up exercise. From there, we will gradually progress through different types of ports. Starting from today for the next 15 days, will be together exploring multiple exercises and techniques on how to draw boats, which can instantly elevate the energy of your paintings. There are so many exercises, I don't want to show all of them and kill the enthusiasm. So you will get to see them as appropriate from bundy to another. Adult boats onto your painting may seem like a very simple step, but the impact of little courageous are going to make us huge. No matter whether you're painting a sunny day or a golden evening, adding some boats onto the sky can really make your painting IL-10 to another level. Every day we'll be exploring different kinds of birds. Really be exploring smaller ones and detailed ones. So here you can see some detailed bullets which you can use as a prominent element of your watercolor landscape. We'll also be doing some smaller ones, which can be used to represent the boards which are far away. I want you guys to follow the same order. So start with D1, even if you are joining late. Don't start with a random D because we started with some simple ones. And as we progress, we will go into more detail. But that way it will be very easy for you to follow along. If you start with a difficult exercise, it might be a frustrating experience for you. And you may not feel like trying it again or continuing with the challenge. So please make sure to go in the order. And also every day along with the exercise, we're going to be doing a painting incorporating the boards we learned in that session. It was going to be a quick mini painting of 10 by 10 centimeter. But if you don't want to do that, that's absolutely okay. You can just follow that exercise and incorporate those bought in your future paintings. I had recently published a 30-day watercolor challenge course. There'll be 30 Borland beautiful skies. If you haven't checked it out, I would really recommend doing that challenge first so that you will have a better idea about color and composition. You can come back to this course with a collection of Tony to disguise and onto each of these meetings you can add the boats you learned. Isn't that a great idea? So for those who have taken my 30-day watercolor challenge already, this is going to be more like a second part. You can add the mini paintings that we'll be doing additional inch to your 30-day collection and that it can expand your collection. Okay, So this painting, QIO, this was the first painting we did in our 30-day watercolor challenge. This is the actual painting. We didn't add any boats onto the sky. It was a quick exercise to understand the color combination. And I added some boats onto the scene sky, you can see the impact. Those three birds brought in a lot of life to wall painting. And the sky is looking a lot more realistic when we added those ports in a similar way when he finished his challenge, you can go back to your 30-day collection and add boats on to that. Here's another painting from the goatee watercolor challenge. For this one as well, we didn't add any books. When I was practicing different kinds of birds for the challenge, I added someone to this painting ASCO. Those birds had a lot of beauty to the centered. It made it look like those birds are flying off to their nest. And also it brought in a lot of depth to the painting. That board is much more smaller than the poor trial. It is looking like a stroke for from you and the boats are much more closer to you. So those boards automatically defined the tests in this painting. Here's the same painting without the birds. To me, it looks like it is lacking some NOT and live at us looking to flat. Once we finish this challenge, I'm so sure you all will be a lot more confident in adding the output. You still may not get it right, but that's absolutely okay. It is a learning experience. The more you try, the more human succeed. So never stop trying, even if you don't get it, dry it and three or four tries, keep trying. Whenever you find some time, you can simply get a scrap piece of paper and keep on trying this exercise, this on other projects you will between this challenge, these are my old paintings. I simply added boats onto these funds. I don't want to show them in advance. You'll get to see them hard and fresh heavy duty. Now, as I said at the beginning, we'll be doing a multiple types of birds will be doing smaller ones and bigger ones. As we paint, I will be explaining a lot more about the perspective and the size of that you need to follow for each kind of painting. So here you can see the boats are quite small and on the red sky it is fig. And on that golden sensitive, decent, medium-size. So I'll be talking more about the proportion and sizes you would need to follow for each kind of painting. Giant this challenge in a fresh, free and relaxed mode. You can take the challenge as soon as possible. Maybe you can take one or two days for the same exercise on scene painting. Go at your own pace. Our intention is not to just finish it. Our intention is to get better at it. So take a deep breath, relax, calm your mind where you can grab a cup of coffee and some loose paper. We are going to start with the first one of the exercise, and I'll see you there. 3. Materials you'll need: Let's quickly have a look at the materials you will need to follow along. As I obviously, it is absolutely okay to use whatever you have carpet, you don't worry about the brand. Okay, So this is an exercise based challenge where we will be doing an exercise MDT, and we'll be incorporating that exercise into a painting. So for the exercise, I will be using a sketchbook. And this is a sketchbook I will be using. It is a very normal sketchbook that is not an artist grade one. I guarded from a local store here. I really don't know the brand. The paper is not. Does that normal setups people that you use for your printing? It is quite flat with no texture. So this is what I'm going to use for the exercise. You really don't need a sketch book. You can use some loose sheets. You can use a normal nor book, or you can crab some Xerox paper. Any kind of paper would really work for this exercise. I mostly use the sketchbook for some scribbling and sketching, and also for my opens getting experiments. The sketchbook is not made for watercolor paintings and for the same reason that people cannot handle multiple layers of paint. You can only add some simple flat washes. So you can literally grab any kind of paper for this exercise. It is only for the painting. You will need to use an artist grade watercolor people. Every day we will have a sketching exercise. And for all of them, I will be using sketchbook. Now for the sketching exercise, I will be using a black children. You can see it clearly from the lines here. Those boards are looking very stark and opaque. You can either use a pen or a pencil. It doesn't really matter. I want you guys to clearly see what I'm drawing. And that's the only reason why I'm using a pen. You can use any of your sketching pencil or a normal HB pencil for this exercise. So this one is from pilot. It is a liquid ink pen. Sometimes I used to spend on my paintings as well, especially when I need to add some very little details which is difficult to get using your brush. So the Spanish like my best buddy. So feel free to go with either a pen or a pencil. You can use both of them for this exercise. We are simply going to skip some sheeps. Our hands are so much used to pen and pencil. And when we are adding the shapes using a pen or a pencil, it will be much more easy for us. And then we broke us to the painting. We'll be using a brush to add the boat. At this way, your hand will get familiarized with those shapes and you'll be confident while adding them onto your painting. Okay, so that's where you will need for the exercise section. Now, let's have a look at the paper which we'll be using for the painting. The one I'm going to use as Canson Heritage cold press watercolor paper. This is one of my most favorite watercolor people. There are many other varieties from cancer, but this is the one I loved the most for my watercolor paintings. It is one for the elbow. And that means that people's quite thick and it can handle multiple layers of paint. It is a cold press paper, which is a 100 percent cotton. So these are the key points you have to look when you're buying a watercolor paper. It should be an artist grade one, which is called praise, which has to be at least 140 LB and a 100 percent cotton. You can go with any brand. It doesn't really matter. But make sure these key points are checked for the binding of abusing a small 10 by 10 square piece. I have got a sheet of paper into small pieces, directors, and that is what I'm going to use for the paintings that we'll be using a small port. I will be fixing my paper onto so that it is easy for me to, to, uh, Stanton around while adding the details and while adding the paint. So you can use any of your writing board or an old notebook or a magazine, or a piece of cardboard. Anything that you can fix your paper onto. I will be using the masking tape to fix my paper so that you will get a clean Bordeaux. You can either use a washi tape or any of the other tapes which you normally use. Okay. So that's all about the people stuff. Now let's have a look at the brushes you will need. Throughout this course. I will be using four different brushes. Now don't look at the brands. You can use any of the pressures which are kind of similar. The first one is this big brush here. This one is a 1.5 inch wash brush. I will be using the spoon to apply a quarter water onto my paper. I normally don't use this brush for painting. I only use it to apply water on my paper so that my precious Clean always. If you don't have a wash brush, that's absolutely okay. You can use any of your bigger sized flat brush to apply a coat of water onto your people. If you don't have an extra brush, you can use the same brush that you use for your painting, but make sure to thoroughly clean it before you add a coat of water onto your paper. Otherwise, there might be some paint stain on your brush and you might accidentally add some paint onto your paper. Okay, so the second brush is a flat brush, half an inch flat brush by silver black velvet brush. I really loved us crush. It is one of my most favorite brush. I'll be using this crash mostly to paint the sky, can go with any of your medium-sized flat brush. Now the next one I have here is again from Silver black colored trash. Just going to sit on crush. Size number eight round brush. I'll be using this one to paint the sky and also to add some details. Make some mountain awesome trees. So good any of your medium-size flat and round brush. And here comes the most important trash for this course. You all know this is an exercise, please challenge, and we'll be learning how to draw different gastropods. So for that, a brush which has appointed to pass very important. This finish your exercise number 4 from pressure from Princeton and destroy their heritage series. I'll just do depression or dumb and show you that beautifully pointed tip. Size number 4 is a wonderful size. You can use it for your smaller details. And if the pressure has got appointed to, you can use it for those minute detailing as f2. See that it has got a nice point at which makes it perfect for adding those birds. So go to any of your smaller size term crash, or you can use any of your detailing brush. Alright, so that is all about the pressures. Now there are chances even after doing all the exercises, you may not be comfortable with your brush while adding your boards. In that case, you can use your pen if that is more convenient and comfortable for you. The traditional watercolor artists, they don't prefer using pen in your painting. Any Blackman would work. It doesn't need to be water resistant. So feel free to go with your pen if you're not feeling confident with your brush. Now let's discuss about the watercolor. I'll be using 2D watercolor for this antonio course. You can use your tubed watercolor or your pants watercolor. It doesn't really matter at all. As this is an exercise based class, my major focus would be on the exercises we'll be doing. For the exercise, body will need any colors at us just for the painting, you will need some. So if you don't have the same color that I'm going to use for the sky, Don't worry, it is something which is least important. You can paint the sky with any colors you have caught. Focus more on the exercise. Okay, so I will be talking more about the colors that I'm going to use at the beginning of each painting. And I'll also be giving you alternate color choice. If you don't have the same color. Now to mixing your colors, you will need a mixing palette. I'll be using ceramic palette. You can use your plastic palette or ceramic palette or any other palette that you normally use. If you're using pans, watercolor, you can put the paint from those watercolor pans. For all the things we'll be doing throughout this course, doesn't need more than four close. So even if you are a palette is quite small. Don't worry. That will perfectly work for this challenge. Now, along with the watercolor, I'll also be using black and white quash. Does is to add the details. It is absolutely okay to use your black and white watercolor if you don't have crash. So if you have Gua Sha, get them. Our goal with your watercolor, the white-collar is mainly to add the sun or the moon and their affliction. It is something which will be adding on the painting once everything is done and when the painting is completely tried. So you can also use your white children entered off your white paint. It works exactly the same as how we use your brush and white paint. This is much more convenient. So if you have a job, you can go with that. Now last but not least, you will need a jar of clean water. And you will also need a paper towel or a cotton cloud to dab away the paint from your brush. Alright, so quickly go grab all the materials you will need and join me in the next section. Let's start with our first exercise. 4. Warm up: All right, ready for a rhombic size? So I'm going to use this sketch book for this exercise. It is a very normal sketchbook at us, not an artist grade one. I mostly use this one for sketching. Just some simple pencil sketches are some pen sketches. It has that normal Xerox people. So it really cannot handle watercolor and heavy brushes. So I mostly use it for these kind of sketches, which doesn't involve a lot of techniques are multiple washes of paint for these kind of scatter said works perfect. So this is what I'm going to use for this warm-up exercise. You can either use your normal sketchbook or an old book or any other people. You don't need to spare your artist grade watercolor paper for this exercise. So they were literally walk. This exercise is mainly for the muscle memory, will be trying out different kinds of shapes so that I will handle, get used to those shapes and we'll be able to create them very easily. Just like how we produce signature, if you're used to a shape or a pattern, when you keep trying that multiple times, you'll be able to draw that very easily. So yeah, you can use any kind of paper. As I said earlier, it doesn't need to be an artist, great people. You can simply grab some blue sheet or you can take out your old notebook. It can't be ruled or Android, nothing really matters. So the sketchbook here, you can see the people, I just kinda flat. It doesn't have any texture. I'll show you a closer view of this paper so that you can see it is a very normal people say that it doesn't have any texture at all. All right, so this is what I'm going to use for today's exercise. To draw the bird. I will be using a black pen. You can either use a pen or a pencil. I wouldn't really recommend using a brush for this exercise, we'll be switching onto brush as we paint. So you can either go with your pen or a pencil. This one is a very normal sharpen. I think most of you might be familiar with this pen. It is from the brand pilot. It is absolutely okay to use your pencil. I want my lines to be very important and prominent so that you guys can see them clearly in the video. And that is a recent why I'm going with a pen. So feel free to go with the pencil. Okay, so it's time to start with a warm-up exercise. Please take it, ask ECS fossil, don't put a lot of pressure if you didn't get it tried, just follow along and keep the beauty. I might have tried my boat at least 1000 times before I caught a dried. So practice this a key. You may not get to try it in your first or second try, but don't give up. Keep trying and keep practicing those hand movements. Trust me, and gradually you will get there. Okay, without any module, Let's get onto the exercise. All of you are familiar with the alphabet. We're going to start with the alphabet M. And it has these alphabets which makes the base sheaf of your board. You can manipulate them in however way you want to and create multiple types of words. I'm not kidding. Let's give that a try. So I'm going to ride the alphabet M, M there. And now let's try a way. That's really all we have bought, the alphabet stare. Now let's pick one by one. Let's start with M. And let's see how we can transform this alphabet into different kind of boats. So keeping the alphabet and mind, keeping that original shape, I'll simply draw some shapes just by changing the angle between all those lines. Let me draw up and slowest. Okay, so that's a base shape. Now I'm going to change that Chief of but I'm going to make those lines a little wavy rather than having grooves, sharp corners and ends. You can see here all we have a sharp corner. Those intersections are very sharp and pointy. Now I simply change those intersections into a curvy line. And that's our first board. You can see I stretched out those legs. They are not staying straight and sharp. I've made them a little wavy. Now here's another one. Again, another one. Another one. So just by tweaking a bit, you can create different varieties of M. You can see all of them look absolutely unique from each other. You can change the orientation, the alignment, the ankle, the spacing between all those lines and create different that I do solve shapes like this. These are just few. Keeping this idea in mind, maybe you can create 10 or 20 more. So that's m. Now let's try the same thing would we, I'm starting with the sheep. They have a lead, their knowledge just like how we did the m. Let's change the spacing between those lines and make them a little of wavy. You can see over here we have a sharp corner. The intersection is looking a little sharp. Now, I'm going to draw different types of readers by changing the angle between goes through lines. You can make them wide open. You can bring them close to each other. Will be you can change the alignment, you can change the orientation. And maybe you can't try an inverted V as well. Okay. So there are so many things again, do you get, keep changing the angle of those lines and keep changing the alignment and create more and more different shapes. So your homework is to draw as many shapes as possible. If again create 20 or 15 ghrelin, but do at least five or 10 of them. You can do this with your pencil and just eco people. And so that entail people with different types of M. And we just imagine you're back to your school days and keep on to breathing the same pattern. We used to have the check good book right there. We used to write the same alphabet or the same number a 100 times. Consider it the same way and draw them multiple times until you feel like your hand moment as Mort, once you haven't done with that excites using a pen or a pencil, Uganda be the same thing using your brush. You have already done the sheep multiple times and you're quite familiar with the shape. Now when you're trying to see him using your brush, you will be a lot more confident. So this is the brush I'm going to use. It's a new brush. I just opened it. And a size number 4, round brush from Princeton. This is from a 180. So you can see the kind of point this precious caught at us, a very nice pointed tip. And it is perfect to add teeny tiny details. Having a detailing brush or a brush which has a pointed tip as very important when you're adding your modes. I have some leftover black gouache on my palette. Now, I'm going to simply draw some shapes just like cognitive with the pen. I'm going to put a lot of pressure and getting them right. This is just a warm-up exercise. You can make mistakes. You can always make mistakes, not just in this exercise. So simply keep drawing the same shape that we did earlier using your brush so that you would be more and more familiar with those shapes. If you can add them in one goal rather than Britain the lines. The main engine behind this exercise is to get rid of that fear and production you have. Simply keep on adding as many shapes as you want. As I said, don't worry about making mistakes. This exercise is to make mistakes and learn from your mistakes. So keep going. Add in as many shapes as you've worn. So yeah, go ahead and create as many varieties of V and M mass possible. When you look at a cluster of boards when they're flying off to the Ardennes during the sunset. You can see different kinds of sheeps. The actual shape of the part of the same. There's no doubt in that. But the way you see your bird in the sky will totally depend on the way it is flapping its wings when you look at it. So in that particular group of birds, some of them will be gliding down and some of them may be flying. So you will see a variety of shapes. Oops, that's okay. It's sister wild peach. So your exercises to take out a blank page and create as many brightness of m and b as possible. Do it with your pen or pencil first so that you will be so much used to that shape. Then after that, you can switch to your brush and repeat the scene. You can see the ones on the top, the one side drew using my pen there looking so much sharp and crisp down the bottom line. So first do the exercise with a pen or a pencil. Maybe you can set a target. Let's see. I'm going to create 10 different m and 10 differently armory 20 different impend. And go ahead with that. Let's see how many you can create. So here for almost all the m and b I have drawn here, border sides are kind of symmetrical. Maybe you can play with slightly different kind of alignment for both the wings. Along with changing the ankle, you can make one of the wing literal, don't our little high. So there were actually endless possibilities on tweaking the shape of this. And when I think you will be able to create 20 or 30 half, then, as I said at the beginning, just play with the shape. Don't worry a lot about getting them perfect. You can either use your pen or pencil. And after that against which to operate and repeat the same exercise. In the next section, we'll be playing with the same shapes, but we'll be making them more clear and crisp. We'll be adding more details to it. So here in this exercise, be bent in with a very rough approach. We didn't really worry about whether they are looking like a bird or not. We were simply playing with different kinds of shapes and that is all I wanted. And this exercise, gradually as we progress, we'll be adding more details onto these shapes we have drawn into sucks size will be picking one by one, and we'll be making them more details. So the base year we started with an a we. And we kept on tweaking the shape of this alphabet. We stretched out the legs and be changed the ankle. They made the line more. We made the lines more vividly. We tried all kinds of companies. Okay, I hope you guys are clear with your homework. Grab a piece of paper and create as many m and b as possible. I'm very sure by the end, you'll be surprised to see the kind of variety of M and B you have created. So don't waste any time. Get onto it. And once you have done a thorough scribbling, join me in the next section. Let's transform these refined beak shapes and birds flock life. 5. DAY 1: Hello, hello, cancel out for joining. So before we start with the exercise and the project, let me quickly give you an introduction about what are we going to do today. I hope you all did the warm-up exercise and I really hope it helped to loosen up a bit. In the next section where we're going to do an exercise, we'll be looking at the shapes and a little more detail. We'll be starting with M and we'll see how we can transform that cheap and two different kinds of birds. And after that we'll call what we will do the same exercise. You can see the kind of him or her created hero. And all of them are, have changed into a port. Similarly, after we're done with m, We will go over the week and we pick one by one and transform all loose and two different kinds of birds. You can see them here. So this is the exercise we'll be doing. In the next section. You can see all the shapes here. We'll be learning how we can transform them into realistic birds. It is going to be a simple exercise. Take it easy. Don't put a lot of pressure. After you're done with the exercise, we will learn how to create different kinds of groups using the same boards we learned, will be picking some random boards from the M group and from the week group. And using them, we'll be creating these kind of smaller group of birds. And incorporating that set of birds will be painting a gorgeous sunset. So here is our first project. Along with adding the boards, you will also learn how to create a gorgeous sunset and a very easy way. And also you will learn how to create that glowing effect on the plans. Okay, so that is a quick introduction about D1. Before we go with our exercise, let me quickly show you the colors that I'm going to use for this guy. So here's the two colors, permanent brown and orange. Both of them are from the brand Art Philosophy. I'll be talking more about the colors and the ultimate achieves 50 pinned. Okay, so that is it. Are you ready to go the first step of mastering your birds? I can't hear so many, yes. All right, but are wasting more time. Let's get onto our exercise for day one. 6. Exercise : I hope you all tried the warm-up exercise and you're ready to explore photo. So we'll start from where we stopped. I'll write down through different varieties of M, like how we did in the previous section. Then we will pick one-by-one and glitchy stag sheep and to a proper board. Okay, so let's start with the first farm. I'm going to start with the simple m, just like how we used to draw birds ventricle young. For this example, I'm using a pen. You can either use a pen or a pencil. So that's the first m. Now let's call the second one. Now for this one, I made the legs a little more bite or open. Now Let's go with the third one. This one is an and gliding position. Now let's go with the next one. You don't really need to follow the same shape. I'm trying cure. What are we, the sheep you're adding. It doesn't really matter the way of your transforming all the sheep into poor to the scene. It is just that the base shape will be different, but the technique we'll be fooling will be the same. So don't worry if you couldn't follow the same shape that I draw here. I added another gliding position. Now let's do the same thing onto the other side. So the first one was gliding onto the left side and this one is gliding on to the right side. Now let's go with the next one. That's proper M. That is a little more space left over there. I'm going to add the last m. Will be other Migdal selects a little more closer. Okay. So we have added 12345678 of them. Now I'm going to pick each of these shapes. I'm going to make them into a proper board. Okay, let's start with the first one. I'm gonna to be the same sheep. I have added that in there. First, I'm going to add some thickness to these wings. Right now. They are just thin line. So to bring in more live, we'll need to add a thickness to those wings to make them look realistic. Now when the sooner we'll attacks and thickness onto the other wing aspect. So the first step is to add the base sheet, then add thickness to these two wings. Then the last step to make it more realistic as to add the body of the board. It is already looking so much better than that big shebang be added those thickness, but that's not enough. You will need to add a teeny tiny dot, right where these two lines are meeting at that intersection point. Now, onto the bottom you need to add our tiny triangular shape. It doesn't need to be a proper triangle. You simply need to add a rough shape. So the body of the board we added the middle is what makes your blood more realistic. I'll show that again. First add in the M or a week, then add a circle over the top that those two lines are intersecting. Now order the bottom, add a teeny tiny triangle. Now when you add thickness to your wings, you will get a complete board. Now that token on the top and that triangle over the bottom, that can be a very rough and beak shape. It doesn't need to be clear and detailed shape. So we'll discuss more. Do you will be adding greater the middle where those two lines are intersecting. For all the boards we have added here, we'd be adding this tiny triangle and circle onto the metal. And we'll be turning all of them into proper bought. Now that's cool. But the second one, I have added that cheap. Now I'm adding the thickness for those lines. Now onto the middle where these two lines are intersecting, I'm adding a tiny circle and the teeny tiny triangle. You can see when those two shapes are meeting, it doesn't really look like a triangle. That triangular part is a tale of your board and that's so-called. On the top is the head. And that circle and triangle to Cato weeks the body of your board. Now I'm calling with a third one. I'm recreating that same sheet. And I simply added a little orbit at the middle. Simple orbit shape. So that's another way how you can easily create the body of your board. It doesn't need to be that triangle and circle of waves. At times you can simply use the orbital sheep. When you look at flying boards, you may not be able to see the body of the bird and all of them. It totally depends on the way the bird is flying. And that particular moment when you're looking at it, men, they are flying, they will keep flattering their wings and for some board to, they'll clearly see the shape of the boat. I mean the body of the bird. And for some of them, you may not be able to see that the links will be hiding the body of the bird. So dorky live until the way you are looking at it. So you can use a combination of that teeny tiny triangle and circle are again, simply add up all the sheep like this. So use a competition of that. You don't need to add that circle and triangle for all of them. Fulfill of them. You can use that. Then for the rest, you can simply use an oval shaped like this. Okay, I hope the idea is clear. So the first step is to identify the base shape of the bird. You can decide on how you want your M or B2B. Once you have added the sheep, you can add up to construe those two wings. Then add a teeny tiny oval at the middle. Or you can add a circle on the top and tiny triangle sheep or the bottom. I'm going with the last ones. Adding an oval. Now, adding thickness to these two wings. Okay. We have one more to go. For the last one, the wings are much more closer to each other than the ones we did earlier. Adding an oval shape at the middle. Now adding thickness to those two wins. Maybe began make that over a bit more beaker. The last ones are slightly different from the ones we did earlier. In this tool, the body of the bird will be much more visible. So you will have to go with a bigger oval shape. Okay? In some time will be repeating the same exercise, but we asked for. So for this exercise we use the sheep M. That was the base shape. Then to make different varieties of birds, we changed the ankle between all these lines. We changed this ankle, this one and this one. We made all those legs wide open. So all of these three ankles changed. So all those three angles changed compared to the first one. So just by changing the angle between these lines, you can create a variety of boards. You can create as many as you want. And we have a bigger angle hero. So once you have identified the shape of the bird, you will need to add a thickness to the wing. Then after that, you will need to add the body of the bird. So all these boards we tried now, they are quite far off from you and that is a reason why you're not able to see the proper shape of the wings and the proper shape of the port. So if there are much more closer to you, you will be able to see the winged properly. You will be able to see though, are those feathers the body of the bird that tail troppo leave the head the week and all that. So this is how your board will actually appear. If it's closer to you, you'll be able to see the wing properly and the head, the body, and the tail. As we progress, we'll be trying out different varieties of port. Will be trying out a detailed poured which you can use an a painting where you are adding a board which is closer to you. So the ones we've tried right now, this can be used only when you are adding your pool, which are far away. I'm sketching this bird to make you understand how we landed on PAT M sheep. Please don't judge place kids, girls. So I have added the winged hero and the body of the bird. So that is the shape of the wing. So if you could do em right through the middle, this is how you bring the look like. It is just that we are not adding goose feathers and all those details for when it would be much more clearer if I add the other wing. So you'll be able to see that and properly. Okay. So this is how we landed on that empty, I guess the idea as Cleo. Now we're going to do the same exercise using the alphabet to the ceiling. If it's completely open, that ankle and the middle vehicle away and it will become a straight line. So here you have an ankle that being cast cord or fold in between and it is creating an ICU. Now we have the same ring, is completely open. That folder will go away and that means that angle won't be there. The line will be more like an inclined line without an ankle. So just like the previous one, once we have identified the base SRI, we'd be adding thickness to the wings and we'll be adding though body of the bird or to the murder. So to get a different variety away, all you need to do was bring those lines close to each other, which means the spacing between the wings will be less. And for some of them we can make it wide open. You can see the one I added right now the winds are so much close to each other. I didn't ask many varieties as you want. We can change all of them into boards. It doesn't matter what shape you're adding. Everything can be changed into a bird. So we have added the basic shape. Now let's pick one by one, and let's transform data into a proper part. I'm starting with the first one, repeating the same shape, adding a teeny tiny oval at the middle. Now going with the second one, again, adding a teeny-tiny over. Now we can add the thickness to these wings. You just need to add that thickness over to the bottom where the witness closer to the body, the end you can leave as a pointy tip. It's clear right? Now let's do the same on all of these bullets. We have Hill. I'm going to repeat the same shape one more time. Then I will add a thickness to the wing. Then I will add that tiny oval shape at the intersection. Now just like we did earlier for m, for some birds, may be you can add a circle and a triangle. You can use a combination of data to represent the body of the port. You can simply call with an oval shape. But as I said earlier, it doesn't need to be a perfect shape. You don't really need to add a perfect triangle and a perfect circle. It can be a little weak and troughs. You can see here all of the V's are looking different from each other. Some of them, the wings are wide open and for some of them the wings are close to each other. But no matter how good they are looking, I'm debating the same step. I'm adding up the cost of the wing and I'm adding that oval shape at the metal. And I'm able to create a bode very easily. The last one, I used an inverted way. Maybe you might have created 10 or 20 of different types of V and M. In your warm-up exercise, you can pick all of them and transform them into words like this. I guess it was easy to follow along and I really hope you guys were able to create a realistic looking forward. Let the steps I showed you, I'm going to quickly show you one more time how you can transform the sheep. We interprets, I'm going to pick some random shapes from the ones we've tried him. More than the M she bought. I mostly use V-shape put in my paintings. I think this is much more easier than m and is much more realistic hospital. You can see how easily I created a bird there. This will make your painting look more realistic. You shouldn't be adding them in the same way, in the same size. So what we did was we started off with the shape. We then we changed the ankle in-between. We made them wide open and made the ankle because then we stretched out the words for the war and with the angle much more because then you try to inverted B again for this one as well, you can play with different angles. You can bring the wings close to each other or you can make them wide open. So there are many other options you can try with the same shape. So as we discussed earlier, you just need to get that shape right. Your wings can be close to each other or they can be wide open. Once you have that cheap, you can add up thickness for your wing, then add a teeny, tiny or well over the middle. Depending on the size of your book. If you're going with a bigger board and if you're making it look like to still close to you, you might need to add that teeny tiny circle and that trunk Laoshi, to make it look more realistic, otherwise, you can simply add that oval shape at the intersection. Okay, So this exercise was purely based on the alphabet to v. Now just like capuchins that ankle and created a different kind of birds, if your gender orientation, that would make your board look more interesting. It's the same book, but you're simply changing that axis and rotating it a bit to make it look like your bird is gliding and the sky. You can do a mirror image of this and do the same thing on the opposite side. So whenever you're adding a group of boat on your sky, all these add them in different client postures. Also to bring in that sense of distance. You can play with different sizes as well. Now, I'm going to quickly pick Hubert from the ones we tried now. And I'm going to create a composition. I'll be adding few bigger ones and few smaller ones. From this, you will be able to understand how you can create a group of birds of different sizes. I've added a few. Now. I'm going to add some teeny tiny ones just to make that competition complete. So we tried earlier. This was a quick exercise. You can create your group however you want to. You can pick some M and V boat and create a composition of your own. Maybe you can add more smaller board or maybe you can add more bigger ones. So it's totally your choice. From all the boards. We tried to pick four or five of them and create a group that you feel like will look nice together. So alumina, we were trying to board to thinner pen. I got too comfortable with the pen, but now it's time to switch to a more brush. This is one of my painting I did earlier. I'm going to try the boards on the backside of this paper. The people off my sketch because various mood, so I wasn't able to get that sharp lines on them. My brush was just gliding away and I wasn't able to create crisp lines. So this is the brush I'm using. At the size number 4 round brush from Princeton. You can see the pointed tip, this precious card. So good. Any brush which has a pointed tip. I have some black paint on my palette. I'm going to use that. Now. I'm going to pick few bought from all of them We tried in this section. Feel from the in-group and few from the regroup. And using them, I'm going to create a small group of birds just to make you understand how you can pick different boards from all these and create individual unique groups. You can actually learn few groups in advance and you use them directly onto your painting. This way you won't be confused why they are adding your bullets. This might sound silly. I don't know who all can relate to this, but this used to happen with me whenever I'm adding the boats onto the sky, I used to get confused about in what orientation are and what size I should be adding the next one. I always feel confident while adding the first one or the second one. When I'm going to the third or the fourth one, I used to get little confused at which position I should be adding it or act which orientation? New trial group of birds in advance. When you learn different kinds of groups, you can simply recreate that onto your painting. Because the way you add your boards will add a lot of value and character to your painting. They can be a small last addition to your painting. But the impact and the difference they can bring to your painting us invaluable. So yeah, go ahead and try two or three different kinds of groups combining the different boards retried and the section. You may not really understand the value of that right now, but I'm very sure as you progress and as you're creating your conscious guys, this is really going to help you, okay? Onto this group, I'm going to add that inverted V. I really loved the sport. You can see how easily I'm able to create those sharp line to my artist grade watercolor people. You already saw how I struggled on the smooth paper band. We were doing that warm-up exercise. I think I didn't get any of the word right when we were doing the exercise, all of the lines were looking very Poland, think I'm glad that on my watercolor paper that is coming right, I've loved one more bold using we, then I think I will add few using MS 50. Okay, so we added four words using the alphabet. We know I think it's time to call what em. And we're going to flip my people and go to the M group. Considered this as an exercise just to create your muscle memory. Don't worry if you're not getting them right. Just keep trying and very sure as you progress, you will see a lot of difference in your ports. You don't need to use the same type of board for your group. If you're more comfortable with we, you can go with that. All. You can just have a look at the collection you made and understand the ones which you are able to create easily and the ones you feel look more realistic and you can simply follow that. My intention is to give you an idea on how you can create different types of ports. It is not necessary that you should be using the same on your paintings. So just have a look at the collection you'll need and pick the ones you feel you have done a great job. And maybe you can use them on your paintings. Okay, So that is the group. I have added two birds using the sheep m. And for using, for this one I simply used an overshoot. And for the other m, I use the combination of that teeny tiny circle and a triangle. Okay, so that is it. Now in the next section, I'm going to show you how you can do US chi and add more life to it by adding books. 7. Project: All right, my dear friends, we finished the excitable D1. Now it's time to incorporate that into a painting. So without wasting any more time, Let's get onto our first project. I'm going with a 10 by 10 square shape. You can go with any shape or size that you prefer. It doesn't really matter. Okay. So I have a jar of clean water. I have a piece of paper, I have my palette and close. Everything was ready here. These are the two colors I'm going to use for this guy. Permanent drought and famine, yellow, orange. Both of them are from the brand Art Philosophy. Permanent drawn is a reddish brown. So if you want to try a similar color, you can mix a little of crumbs into your bond singer and guitar, British crown, and fiddle. How permanent yellow, orange, you can use either yellow ocher directly. Are again, mix a little of orange to your capital G, yellow or yellow ocher to get some luck, Hello. Okay, so those are the two colors I will be using for the sky. Now if you want to try a different color combination, that is totally your choice, it doesn't really matter at all what colors you go for your sky. My intention is to show you how you can add your book. So with the colors you use for your sky doesn't really matter. Maybe if you don't like adding brown onto your sky instead of this woman drown, you can either use warm balloon or any other. Darker orange. And along with that, you can use your yellow. So those are the other color options which might be readily available material if you don't want to mix and create a new color. Okay? So feel free to go with any color that you have guard with you. It doesn't really matter whether you are using the same brand or the same color. So the first step is to tape down on the paper. Using my masking tape, I'm firmly fixed my people onto this board. Once you have applied your masking tape, just run your fingers on top of it just to make sure your paper as fixed properly onto your board. If you don't run your fingers on top of it, there might be some gaps in between and the water again seeping through and create some ugly border. You wouldn't be able to get that clean, white Bordeaux. Okay. I have fixed my people. Now let's prepare the pain. I already have some brown and orange on my palette, but that may not be enough. So let me squeeze out a bit more onto my permanent, squeezing out some brown versus permanent town from Art Philosophy. Now squeezing some permanent yellow, orange, again from the brand Art Philosophy. So we have both the columns ready. Okay? The first step is to apply an even coat of water onto the entire paper. For that, I'm using my 1.5 inch wash brush. This one is from Princeton. As the size of the paper is quite small, you can actually use any of your bigger size flat brush. Just make sure your brush doesn't have any pins gene from your previous painting, Washington thoroughly before you apply a Goto water. Now I'm switching to my half an inch flat brush from silver black velvet brush. You can use any other medium size flood prone. Actually, you can use the same brush to apply a coat of water onto your painting. By b will have to run your brush multiple times to make sure water has three strapped to bear because the precious quite small. And also it would have to make sure that there's no pain steam on your approach from your previous painting. That is a recent why I always recommend to keep a separate brush for applying water onto your people so that you can be quite sure that there's no paint on your brush. I'm going to start with brown. I'm going with a medium tone of brown. Applying bat onto the top of my paper. You can add brown onto almost 1 fourth of your paper. Now, I'm switching to permanent yellow, orange. Adding that tried to there. I stopped at Brown and blending them together. I'm going to add more orange and I'm going to take it to the bottom. You can see I'm pulling with the much more intense tone than Galileo. And as I come down, I'm making the color lighter. I don't want a darker tone over the bottom. I'm going to make the blend of bottommost molto, right where these two colors I'm meeting. And I'm gonna take my approach to the bottom. I'm not really worried about getting a smooth gradient of brown and orange. Your sky will look more beautiful if you have multiple tonal values. Okay, So this is how all of us guys looking right now. I'm going to go with a bit more tone of orange and I'm going to drop that onto the sweat background. Choose to live look that over the middle. As I said, I don't want a darker tone over the border. So I'm not going to take it any further. I'm going to start with tried TO. And now I'm dabbing my brush on of people tofu. And I'm running my clean brush on top of those orange. I add it right now just to make it a bit more smarter. Okay. I think that looks nice. I'm really happy with that intense orange. I have gotten the middle. Here is a closer look of the sky. The only two colors are used where permanent drought and permanent yellow, orange. Now before the sky drive that as one thing we have to do. My sky is still wet. So I'm going to make use of that time. And I'm going to lift off some paint from here. To create a setting sun. You can either use a plaid creche, Oregon Press. It doesn't really matter. But every time you lift the paint off, make sure to dab your brush on a paper towel. Because every time you lift the paint off from your background. Your brush will have some things to you. So before you go with the next round, you will have to make your brush clean. Otherwise you won't be getting back. Whites angle, we're there. So no matter whether you're using a round brush or a flat brush, trying to get a rough ground cheap for your son. We're lifting up the paint. You simply need to run your pressure in a circular manner. So you will automatically get that wrong sheet there. Now when this dries, we'll be adding a simple mountain over the bottom. And along with that, we'll be adding a whole book. Okay, So let's wait for the sky to try. I'm really excited to show you how to add the words because that is the whole point of this class. But along with that, I want you guys to explore some new color completion and some new techniques so that the expedience will become a lot more interesting. Okay, I was chi has completely dried. Now I'm going to squeeze out a bit dark black wash onto my palette. You can use black wash or black water color. It doesn't really matter. I think first began at the boot, then we can add the mountain so that we don't need to wait for the mountain to dry or we don't accidentally smart to mountain into the sky. So let's add the boat first. I'm going to use my size number 4 round brush by Princeton. You can use any of your brush which has a pointed tip. So we already tried some boats in the previous exercise. I'm going to pick feel bored and create a composition on a scrap piece of paper. I think we'll use a new composition and have this fun. I'll try it on that remaining IDA or have over the border. And we will copy that onto your painting. Now, as I said in the previous exercise, if you're not too confident that the boards I'm adding kill, you can pick the ones which you are more confident with. I'm going to use this inwardly. And maybe I will add one or two M. You can either choose your M boats audio reports. Just pick the ones which are confident with I like my report more. But along with a we maybe had one or two envoys. Okay. Let's try it on a scrap piece of paper. I'm starting with a report. I'll go with a bigger board first. This one is a very small exercise. But if you're doing a commission or if you're doing a huge painting, it would be really helpful if you try your boat on a scrap piece of paper, especially if it's a beco board. I'm starting with a or B because wide or point. Now I'm adding the thickness. And now I'm going to add the body of my book. I went into the beaker ankle and I made the things right open. Now I'm going to add that small oval shape or with the murder. And that completes my first board issue right? Now let's add a second one. Again. I'm going to go with a, with the Stine my vote as a gliding. I have added the basic sheep and adding that tiny oval and the meter. So for this one, I made the wings a little more close to each other. And I made it a bit more smaller than the first one so that our composition will look more interesting. So just by changing the orientation of, but we got a different board. It is actually the same board. We have a bow. Now I'm going to do it onto the opposite direction. And I'm going to make my book a little more smaller. For the next one, I'm going with an inverted V, this one here. So the first step is to add a curvy inverted. This is my favorite type of word. I really love these in bordered before. Once you have added the shape, you just need to add a teeny tiny circle onto the middle. Okay? That assemble Ford bird. Now maybe we can add an embodied. If you look at this group which I'm creating right now, and if you compare that with the group we have on the top, it is actually the same kind of words, but I simply rearrangement. And I added them in a different order and a different location. And by doing that, I bought a new group of birds, which doesn't really look like the first group. Okay, Now let's add them onto your painting. I'm going to start with the beco V. To get the best result, make sure to use a brush which has a pointed tip. You can go with any of your medium, two smaller sized round brush. Otherwise you can go with your detailing brush. If you're not getting a dried with your brush, feel free to go with your pen. It doesn't matter. And we have added double first board. Now let's add the second one. The one which is gliding. This one right here. I hope you guys are gradually getting confident with your board. Edit the same boot, but be aggregating it a bit to make it look like describing. Okay, I'm adding back a little below the first bird. Just like Carl, we have it on our sample. And that's my second book. You can see how nicely I'm getting those lines. That is the magical for nice brush. It is great to invest on a brush which has a pointer to size number 4 and size number 6 are quite good sizes. You can use them for your painting and also for adding smaller details. This crashes from Princeton. This is from their heritage cities. They have different series of brushes. I'm a great fan of debt herded cities. You might have seen me using this in my other classes as well. Anyway, I'm going to add the next book. I added a small bud there. So we have three different sizes. All of them will be. Now I'm going to add an input. The one hill adding that she now adding thickness to the wings. And now adding that teeny tiny Orban and momentum. Now we have one more to add that inverted when I think I will add that on the top, you don't need to stop it at five. I'm adding only five bullets. If you want, you can add more. Maybe you can add some more smaller birds in the background. For this painting. I'm just adding these five boards, which is like a medium size. In our next painting, we'll be exploring a much more bigger group of ports. Will be playing with different sizes and different kind of flying posture. Okay, so that's the last board there. I hope you guys are able to follow along and you are happy with your goods. Now most of the students who take my classes are beginner to intermediate level, and that is a recent why I've dried the composition on a scrap piece of paper first. As you progress and as you get confident with your birds, you really don't need to do this exercise. Again, greedily add that onto your painting. Okay, So you have seen how we transformed different shapes into boards. We started off with the sheep and the transform them into parts. Now it's time to add the mountain. Now, I'm going to start with black on either side. Then as I come towards the center where I have the sun, I will be switching to brown and orange so that it will look like the sunlight is hitting over that area. And it would make sense that look more cultures. I'm starting from the left side and I'm adding some black color there. I will take it a little more towards the center. Okay, Now similarly, I'm going to add black from the right side. As I'm closer to the sun, I'm going to leave it Tacitus, I wouldn't be teaching Black towards the middle. Now, I'm washing off the paint from my brush and I'm switching to Brown. Now called a tremendous area that in-between space. I'm going to fill that EDA and drowned. Just connect those two ends and brown and fill up that entire idea. Now again and Washington the paint from my brush and I'm switching to orange. Now about that brown, I'm going to add a little of orange. We already got that glowing effect theory just by switching to brown and orange. Now onto the top, I'm going to add some teeny tiny patterns just to make it look like there are some plant or there. Keep on adding some small random patterns. It doesn't have any particular sheep. Just keep pressing the tip of your brush on the paper and create these kind of patterns. It can be some little dots and some lighting patterns. Don't worry about the shape. Just keep on pressing the tip of your brush and fill up that outer line in these kind of patterns. So it is just order the middle where we have the sun. We are using brown and orange for the rest of the area on the left hand dried, we'll be switching back to black and we'll be adding these kind of patterns using black. You can see how easily we created that glowing effect just by changing the color. If you want, you can make that orange a little more lighter. You can bring it to a much more lighter value, which is more or less close to the color of the sun. So the effect will be a lot more different. Okay, Now I'm going to switch to black and I'm going to keep adding those teeny-tiny patterns. Lambda alkaline. And I'm going to finish up the painting, which is which all right, I have added black. Now, I'm going to match that into the brown and orange we have over the middle. Right now that transition as looking letter sharpened prominent. So to get a smoother blend over there, I'm switching back to a love, love orange. And I'm running my brush along that area over the modem, just so that the transition will look a lot more smarter. Okay, We created a car, just sunset. I'm really loving the globe with the color of the sky and how the board's turned out. The whole conversation is looking so beautiful. In the coming days, we'll be trying a little more detailed board. They have the tail, the head, and the week, everything is clearly visible. So when we are doing the projects related to that exercise, we will try to add some glue onto the boat asthma. These ones here are too tiny to add a clue. Let's leave these ones in black. I'm really excited for the rest of the days. All of the boards we are going to dry in this class is going to be very helpful for you in your future projects. Because birds are not like techniques. This is something that you can add onto any of your watercolor landscapes. They will instantly add a lot of life and energy to your paintings. Okay? And we are done with the painting for day 1. I hope you guys are happy with the sunset and how your boards don't tout. Now let's quickly remove the masking tape and take a look at the finished painting. The black on either side, does he get too dry? So the only two colors be used for the sky where permanent frown and permanent yellow, orange. We created a corridor sky just using these to close. First, we added the boat onto a scrap piece of paper. We tried to sample composition. We added them onto our sky once we caught confident with them. Whenever you find time, you can create different kinds of groups like this. We created one on the top, and we created a second group here, and that is the one we use for a while painting. Similarly, you can try out different kind of groups. It can be a little more scattered and it can be a bit more bigger group. You can add some of them on the top and some of them over the bottom. So try to come up with different kinds of interesting groups. Now, I'm going to remove the masking tape. I think that Glaucus yet to drive, but I'm gonna go ahead and remove my masking tape very carefully. But don't be like me. Don't rush. All these. Wait for your painting to dry completely before you peel off your masking tape. Okay. Luckily, I got a clean Bordeaux. Hope you all enjoyed painting this mini sunset and hope you all cardio burst. I wouldn't say it as too much treaty will be coming to that. And the later exercises, we'll be doing much more detail. But these were still slightly closer to your eye level. And we had short some rough details. We show the wings and the body of the bird. Even though we didn't really go into each and every element in D2, we still managed to show some little details. Now today we're going to use the same boat and they are trying to create a group of them will be affecting our rough part for the bolt and we'll be adding them in that part. You can see here the result of par the boats are following. We'll be discussing more about this and exercise. This will create a lot of visual interest in your painting. Similarly, we'll be doing another exercise where the boats are scattered. It doesn't have any proper path. They are flying in the sky endlessly. And here's another one that the birds are flying off to the tree. So we'll be discussing about different kinds of patterns. So the basic shape are going to be these funds we did earlier will be simply playing with different sizes to create a group of ports and painting we'll be doing today. We'll be doing a simple skies of blue, red, and yellow, and on to that, to make it look more interesting, we'll be adding group of boards. So to make it more realistic than interesting, we'll be adding boards of different sizes at the end of the section, I'll also be showing you some reference photograph, which will give you a little more idea on how you can create an interesting group of parts. Okay, So that is all about exercise and the painting. Now, it is totally your choice to go with whatever color you prefer for your sky. Here I'm using blue, red, and yellow for the sky. But it doesn't really matter at all. You can go with any of the proletariat prefer. For me, what matters the most is the exercise part. So feel free to go with the colors of your choice. Or you can grab any of your older buildings and add the proton to that. Okay, I hope everything is clear now that are based in even more time. Let's start with our exercise. 9. Exercise : For the first exercise, we use the shapes and envy and be great at plenty of birds. Those birds had a medium degree of de-tune. It wasn't Bell detuned. Now today we are going to take the same burst we did yesterday, and we're going to create a bigger group of birds. So I'll be going with some medium-size boots and AVP, adding some smaller ones in the background. Fourier series painting be added five books and all of them are medium sized. It was a small group of birds. Now, I'm going to start with the same books we did yesterday. I added a V-shaped bird. So just like yesterday, I drew some boards using the sheep. And we just did a random miner start with the base shape. It can be either M or B. It can be at any angle. You get either make the wings close to each other or it can make it wide open. And after that, you need to add a small oval shaped by the meter. And you have your board. Now I'm calling with an inverted V, adding a thickness to the wing, then adding that oval shape or that circle shaped by the middle. Okay, So we have three birds there. We will have one more. This one, it can be in a gliding position, so I'm going to take it onto the right side. Now this exercise is just to make you understand how you can form different kind of group of poets. You really don't need to sketch it along. You can simply watch this exercise with you. So I have full board, They're, all of them are and the V-shape. Now, I'm going to randomly add some smaller ones in the background. For the smaller ones, I wouldn't be adding that silica in the middle. I'll be simply adding some B and M shapes. You can see they are very small. You can add as many as you want. When you play with different sizes, it will automatically bring a lot of depth to your painting. So this model works here are the ones which are very far from you and the medium-size birds are the ones which are closer to you. So this is how you define depth in your painting using Bode's, I'm going to quickly add few more smaller birds. You can see I'm just adding machine. Some of them are inverted, we, some of them are gliding. I'm adding them in a very random manner. Okay? So I have added them in a very scattered manner. I have some medium-size bullets on some smallest size board. I think of like two or three more birds with a size which is in-between these two. Okay? So the size here as something in between the smaller one and the medium-size fun. I'm going to add another one there. I'm simply adding them wherever I feel like I'm not referring to any photograph or I'm not trying to follow any pattern. Maybe I will add one more. I think we have got enough soft goods thing. Okay, so here I have tried a bigger group of poets in a very scattered manner. It doesn't have any particular pattern. They are simply flying in the sky. For this group, we added both of three different sizes. We added some teeny tiny birds. We added just a xi, then we added a smaller one. Then we went into the medium size board, which is a bit detail compared to that. Now let me show you how you can make a composition out of this. I'm going to simply add horizon line, adding a setting sun, and adding the deflection. So you can't bend your sky in any color. It can be a single wash or it can be a cleared in Rosch. Then you can paint the water as a mirror image using the same colors. Then onto that you can add a moon or a son and then add its reflection and finish up the painting using some boats. We use the same boat here. We vent into the smaller size and we tried three different sizes in the same group for the painting we did yesterday be bent into the similar size of birds. We added five of them, maybe under the same painting you can add some teeny tiny ones and make it a bigger group. Okay, So that is the first part of this exercise. Now you've seen the thing, birds, Let's try another bathroom. This one we went in with a very scattered manner. The birds are just flying on the sky aimlessly. For the next exercise, I'm trying to create a focal point. And I'm going to drip the boats towards that focal point. So it will have a Patton. As I said earlier, you don't need to sketch this along with me. Again, simply watch this exercise. First I'm adding some brown just on the left side, adding some leaves onto that. So this is my focal point. Now I'm going to do that all the boats towards this branch so that it will look like that or some nest on this tree. And the bullets are flying off to their nest. So just by adding a focal point and driving your board towards that focal point can create a story in your painting. Here I only added some branch. It can be a huge tree or some mountain. You can go with any subject may be, it can be a tablet or a house. All right, now I'm going to add the birds. Just like the previous exercise. I will be adding books on different sizes. I will be adding two or three big Obama's. Then I will go with a medium size and then either cool, but some smaller ones. Now I'm going to add all of them acid, they are flying towards that tree. So here you can see I went in with a different approach for the birds. I made it look like they're flying towards the tree. On the first one we've ended with a more of a scattered manner. Whereas for this one we created a rough pattern so that it will look like the birds are flying off to their destination. So these are two ways how you can add a group of boats onto your painting. Depending on the subject you are focusing on. If you have some mountains or if you have some trees in the European team. Okay, So for both groups we did earlier, we added a lot of different sizes. We played with medium size and smaller sized birds. Now, I'm going to create a group of board, but desal off the same size. When you're drawing smallest size birds, they're obviously far from you, so you don't really need to focus on the details. You simply need to add the sheep. If you're only going to create an interesting part for them, acid, they are flying towards the corner of your people, or they're flying towards the top of your paper or towards the bottom. So always tried to bring in a particular path or a button for your boards. This will automatically add a lot of beauty to painting. Okay, so here I have added some teeny tiny birds, just a sheep. This is underway how we can add boats onto your painting. I think this is the most commonly used orally. So the boats you're adding can be of the same size or it can be a group of different sizes. Now, I'm going to try another one where I will be using some bigger birds and smaller ones together. And it'll be creating an interesting part. I'll start with some big O, but then around that, I will add some smaller weren't asked for. It is exactly the same board we didn't day once exercise. It is just that you're am trying different sizes. And I'm creating a group of birds. Some of them are small, some of them are big. When you play different sizes, which will automatically bring a lot of visual interest to your painting. Also make sure to go a different kind of flying postures for all the birds. Don't add them in a similar way. You get Adam Lee book. You can add some the birds and some emboli. Some of them you can make the wings close to each other and some other. You can make them wide open. Okay, So I have added some big boat TO now around us. I'm going to add some teeny tiny ones like their brow. I'll be creating a rough part for these boards because I will be adding a lighthouse on the right side. And I'm trying to make it look like there's birds are flying towards that lighthouse. At the end of the session, I will show you some real photographs. So you will get some more idea on how you can follow a creative part for your birds. Trust me, it makes a huge difference if you simply add them onto your sky. And if you follow a particular part. I didn't the photographs that I'm going to show you explain that more. So I have added some bigger birds and some smaller boards, but the farthest, not really defined because I haven't chosen a subject. Okay, so I'm going to sketch a simple lighthouse on the right side. When I add the lighthouse, you can clearly see that part defined. It will really look like the birds are flying off to the agonist, which is that lighthouse, a home or somewhere close that lighthouse. So let me cookies, gets that out. All right. So I have skipped the lighthouse now to finish that part to make it complete. And I'm going to add few more books. So when you're doing your future paintings, if you're adding a mountain or a tree or a building, you can make your bot fly in a particular battle. You can make it look like the birds are flying off to that destination. That is nothing extra you need to do when you're adding your book. Simply follow a particular path. Trust me, this will bring in a lot of visual interest to your painting. Depending on the Mall of your painting and depending on the language and depending on the subject, again, follow a particular part which can bring in a lot of ritual interest in your painting. So next time when you're doing your painting, rather than adding one cure and run their tried to bring in a particular part and make your painting look more interesting. It doesn't need to be a complicated path. It can be as simple, straight bought Jasper. Let me show you one more quick group. I added them in a straight line. I started off with 10 smaller boats coming towards the right side. Birds are getting beco. So it is automatically looking like the birds on the right side are much more closer to you and those smaller ones are far away. And it is also giving us a field that those small boats are following the bigger ones. All of them are flight to the theme destination. So this is how you can easily bring in a story in your painting, no matter how small or big they are. If you follow a particular part for your ports, it will automatically create some visual interest and it'll create huge difference. Now before we go with the vocal articulate, Michelle, you some reference photograph I downloaded from unsplash. Let's start with this photograph. You can see the way how the birds are flying. There are flying in a particular pod. Looks like there is in Canada leader and everyone is following the leader. So that's an interesting part. Now let's have a look at another one. Here you can see there are just full board and all of the marsh line towards the top at the small end symbol group. But still they are following a particular part. They all laughed fooling the same battle. Now when you come to this photograph, you can see all of these birds are flying towards century, just like how we did in our exercise. It looks like their nest is in that tree and they are all are flying off to the m-nest or two against the, all the birds here are almost the same size, which means all of them are in the same level of eyesight. None of them are far away. Now coming off to this last but the most interesting photograph, you can see how beautiful, unique and interesting this part, the CEO came. In the coming days, maybe we can try a painting there. The birds are flying in a similar pattern. All right, so it's time to wrap up the exercise and corporate double predict for the day. 10. Project: All right, So in the exact section we had a look at how you can add more visual interest to your painting by creating a path for your posts. We sketched out some simple paths and also we had looked at some reference photograph. Now let's do a quick painting incorporating the lessons to be learned and exercise section. So how might people here? And I'm fixing my paper onto the pool using a masking tape. Yesterday we try to soft and subtle sunset, but today we are going with a totally opposite color range. For today's painting, we'll be using some bold and indents close. But you're free to go with vertical color combination that you prefer. It can be completely different from the colors that I'm using QR, for me, what matters the most is the exercise part. So you can be drawn sky and add the boats onto the sky that have been too. Okay, so choose the way you prefer. Fixed my people. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. So here are the three colors I'll be using for this course. I'll be using them in the same order. Royal blue, vital dread, and permanent yellow, orange. So for the top of the sky, I'll be using a doctrine of royal blue. And over to the middle, I'll be using pilot grant. So these two colors, dry blue line titled rate, when mixed together, you will get a muddy brown. If you're going with a darker tone, we will get something close to black. So you could use any other blue. And this despite already, you can see that in dense red, this is the straight. If you don't have pyro red, you could use Karla trade or woman Lynn or any other dark orange or red. Okay. So those are the three colors. Over to the bottom, I'll be using permanent yellow, orange. So I'll start the drug blue. Then I will covert battle dress. And over the bottom, I will be using permanent yellow, orange. All right, so those are the colors I had tried this color combination, so I already have some paint on my palette, but that may not be enough. So I'm going to squeeze out a bit more. That's great. As I said, you could use color trait or a woman or any other red or orange. But please don't use groups and our card mine, because when you mix crimson are carmine with blue, it will create violet or purple. But I want more of a muddy brown, blackish door, then these two colors are meeting. I don't want to violet in between. Okay, so we have the colors ready. I hope you guys are clear with the colors. Now, I'm going to switch to my 1.5 inch wash brush. And I'm going to apply a clean cold water onto the anterior people. And even coud keep dragging your brush multiple times to make sure that there's no pulse of water in between. Okay. So I have a blend and even called the water. And I'm running. People travel along these sites so that the water wants to flow back into my painting. You might have seen those. This happens when the water flowed back into your painting from the masking tape. Okay, So we'll make sure to wipe off the border from a masking tape if there's any. Now I'm going to switch to my half-inch flat brush. And I'm going with an endurance tone of blue. And adding that onto the top of my people. I'm not really convinced with the color. I want a really intense tone of blue. Looks like I might need some more paint to make it more intense. I'm squeezing out some more royal blue. Instead of royal blue, you could use Prussian blue or ultramarine blue or any other blue dye to prefer. You can also use integral if you want more of a darker color. I really love this. Blue is one of my favorite blue. So I have added blue. Now, I'm going to wash of paint from my brush. And I'm going to switch to Paypal Drake. Now, I'm going to switch to white or gray, and I'm going to add that tripe next to blue and have a little blending them together. This is bright and bold red. And adding the actin and I'm going to blend these colors together. You can see that I'm mixing these two colors together. I'm getting a color but just more like a darker, reddish brown. I'm not getting a wider tour. And this is the beauty of this color combination. This is the reason why I told you I'm not going to go with a carmine or crimson. I'm going but reddish orange. So if you don't have Bio-Rad, As I said earlier, you can use color trait or 1 million. Okay, so please keep that in mind. I'm going to add some more red and I'm going to wash the paint from my brush. And I will switch to permanent yellow, orange for the rest of Asia. If you don't have women in orange, you can use yellow ocher. Or again, absolutely love warm, willing to gamboge yellow to get a similar color. Now, I'm going to add that yellowish orange the rest of the year I have over the bottom and blending that with the rate. So right now we have a clean blend of blue, red and a yellowish orange. Now ordered the bottom there I have yellow. I'm going to add few streets of red to make our sky look more interesting. So I'm switching back to bite would raid, taking a bit of data on my brush and I'm dabbing my brush on a people to work because I don't want to beat which is too watery. I wanted to paint as witches, let it dry. Now I'm going to add some lines on this yellowish orange using a dark tone of red. Make sure your paint is not too watery. It is a good idea to W Bush won of people toggle before you add these lines so that you can be sure that you are bringing just not too watery. If your brain is too watery, you may end up getting some blurry patterns. It wouldn't look like lines. The paint will spread into your background and you would be getting our different kind of a baton for your Clouds. Okay? So here are supposed sky. Everything is looking so per day and really loving those red streaks on the yellow background. Now we'll have to wait for this to dry. And once I was kind of drives, we will add a simple sellout over the bottom and it will add up or birds will be falling. A simple part for our boards and we'll add them considering all the lessons we learned in the previous exercise. Okay, our sky has completely dried. Now let's have a look at the exercises we did Galileo. So here we tried a scattered battle. And over here we tried to make it look like the birds are flying off to their nest. Then we tried few more different options. We try and assemble group of smartboards that may look nice here. Then be tried under pattern that might also look nice in the sky, we can create a similar pattern. Then we also tried some simple linear patterns. So just totally your choice which kind of pattern you want to follow for your posts. If you want to follow something, we're just more interesting. Like we saw in the reference photograph. You can do that. Most of you here are a beginner, so I'm going to make it fairly simple. Okay, it's time to switch to my size and Beauford on crash. If you don't feel confident in adding those boats using a brush, you can use your pen, doesn't matter. I want you guys to feel happy when you finish your painting that is worth matters to me the most. So you can switch to your brush or pen. Today I'm using my black watercolor actually some of you may be thinking why I use plaque quash overuse. It is just because I have a huge tube and also because I loved the opaque and Mark Luke of quash, it stays very dark and bold. It doesn't fade away. So today I'm using black watercolor for everyone who had that question in your mind. Okay, so I'm using my size and before round brush. This brush has a nice pointed tip. So again, use the same brush for my cobalt and smaller boards. I don't need to switch to any detailing brush. To get the size right. You will need to use a brush which has a pointed tip. If you don't have one, feel free to go with your pen. You can see this nice pointed tip. It works perfect for all kind of detailing. Okay, so I'm going to start with the birds. I'll add two or three bigger birds. And around that, I will add my smaller books. Over the bottom, you'll be adding some plants and trees. So I'm adding my bird little about that bottom masking tape so that I have space for my plans. I'm starting with the MBA. This will be the biggest size I'll be using for my book. I'll be adding one or two and a similar size and the rest of them will be smaller to this. If you only against kids WHO DO boat on a scrap piece of paper first, just like we did yesterday. You can define an interesting part and add your votes according to that. Okay, So I have added my second bird. Both of them are almost of the same size. You can see I'm not putting a lot of effort on defining the body of the bird. I'm simply putting a teeny tiny dot over the middle that the two wings are intersecting. Now I added another weren't on the top. I went in with an inverted V that is slightly smaller than the first two books. Now adding another one. This one is much more smaller than the other three birds. And if you could see, I have made the lines much thinner. And a similar way, I'm going to add few more boards. You can clearly see here, I'm adding my button three different sizes. I added two big bird and I used a little thicker lines for those two. And for the rest of the birds, I'm going into very thin and delicate line. I'm not putting a lot of effort on them. I'm simply adding the sheet. So I'm going to randomly add some B and M shapes around the big pods. And I'm going to create a rough path, making it look like the birds are flying towards that side. Okay, so let me quickly add the rest of the boats. I really hope you guys are happy with your boats. For the boats we did yesterday and the ones we're doing today, the US, the shape. And we, and we are simply modifying that shape to create some books. I'm hoping this is an easy task. Ben, It is kind of easy, but then if you need to get them right, that the branch, you will have to use a brush which has a pointed tip. So if you don't have one, that is a great idea to invest on a press which has appointed to. It doesn't need to be a detailing brush. Because if you're buying a beta inverse, you can only use that for detailing. Whereas if you're using a size number 4 or 6, if you can't get a brand which has appointed to, you can use the same brush for multiple techniques and detailing. Just like the brush I'm using QIO. This one is size number 4. I also have a size number 6 from the same brand and same cities that also has a pointed tip. But I have been using that brush for quite awhile and that pointed to pass rounded off. But it still works perfect for the rest of the detailing other than these teeny-tiny lines. So there's no reason to throw away your brush. Now if your brush has losses pointed to what you can to us, you can dip your brush in hot water for a few seconds and again, try to reach target that pointed tip drag. This mostly looks with all the brushes. Alright, I have added my book. You can see I have tried to create our wavy path here. So it is looking something like that. They are flying from this corner to the other side. Okay, I hope you guys have created an interesting path and you're happy with your books. Now it's time to add the bottom plants. Again, I'm going to plug and I'm going to add a teeny tiny house on the left side. Choose to simple shapes. So I'm starting off with an inclined line, which is the roof. Now adding a tiny line here. And from there I'm going to add a straight line to the masking tool. Okay, so that is the basic shape. Now, I will add a teeny-tiny window and leave that in yellow. I'll fill up the restaurant black. So it will look like the lightest hitting on the window class. And the glass is reflecting that yellow color. Now leaving that window carefully fill up the rest of the IDA and black. Now when we added this house a district and you're kinda like they're flying away from this house. They're going off to the honest. Now, I'm going to add some plants and trees over the bottom. So first Avenue add a basic shape. Just like a low-lying mountain. And onto that top, ADI, I haven't be adding some simple Dr. Battle to make it look like there are some plants and trees over there, just like how we did yesterday. So in-between you can make that shape little taller and at some places you can make it a little lower. So this will automatically add a lot of realistic character to your painting. Spawn to have added that cheap using the tip of your brush. Keep on adding these teeny tiny dots and Patterns. Continued that to leverage the other end. So first you need to load your brush with paint and using the tip of your brush, you need to keep on pressing. And you need to add these kind of teeny tiny dots and little patterns. Add them close to each other so that it will look like these are plans. We just have a little more left and that would be done with our painting for day 2. I'm really loving this color combination, especially when we added those red lines on the yellow background. It made a huge difference. Imagine if you leave the same sky without adding those lines, it wouldn't look this interesting. So to, so simple elements which are a lot of beauty and character to your painting. You can also imagine the same sky without those ports. That will also make it so plank and lifeless. So for a sturdy and today we use the same kind of bird. Yesterday we went in with a smaller group and the boards for the cadavers. Today we use the same boat and we created a beco group and also the play with different sizes. Now tomorrow we'll be using the same shape and we'll be making them more detailed. Tomorrow's exercise is going to be really interesting. If you want, you can add more products. You can add some more smaller birds in the background. Okay, now let me quickly pull off the masking tape and show you the finished painting. All right, Here's the finished painting. I hope you guys can charge being in this beautiful sunset. And I really hope you guys are getting confident that the outputs, if you're still not getting them right when we have more exercises coming up. And then together keep trying to make them better. 11. DAY 3: Hello my dear friends. Welcome back. Welcome to Day 3. Today we are going to level up a bit and they're going to try a board which is a little more detail than the previous days. So all of this while we will try and some simple boards, we were exploring the sheep m and when we sketch lot of shapes and be made them into some simple birds, we did quite a lot of them. These were the reports and these were the inbox. I think now it's time to try a little advanced boards. But don't worry, we're going to go with the same shapes. The base sheet will be the same. So big along all the lessons you learned to the previous days. We're going to start right from there. Okay, So here are the boards that we're gonna do today. You can see how courageous they are looking. We'll start with a simple exercise. We'll start with the same sheets we did on the R. And we'll see how we can achieve the same birds into realistic and their detailed birds. The base shapes and the wings, everything's going to be the same, will be simply playing with the shape of the bird. And that is only addition to the sheep. But that little addition is going to make a lot of difference in your words, and that is what we're going to explore today. Trust me, you can do this. It is not as difficult as it looks like. So here are the final boards we'll be doing. We'll try all of them and incorporating few boards from these, we'll try a painting as well. For the exercise section, I'll be using a pin. But as I said earlier, you can either use a pen or a pencil. For the painting. I'll be using brush. But again, if you're more comfortable with your pen, you can still use your pen on your painting. Okay, so here is the painting that we'll be doing today. It's a car, just evening sky. We just had three board onto the sky from the ones we have learned. Once you finish the exercise, you will get to know the boards which you are more comfortable work. And you can add them onto your sky. You don't really need to follow the same words I have added here. Okay, now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. So here are the two colors I'll be using Payne's Gray and permanent rules. The spins great is from Sennelier and permanent loss of function. If you don't have Payne's gray, you can either use black or you can use indigo. If you don't have any of them, you can use any other blue. And instead of permanent rose, you can use carmine or crimson. Non-stress out if you don't have the same color, we just need two colors for the sky and the water. You can go with any of your favorite color competition. This is a challenge based exercise and what matters the most is the exercise. Okay, I think it's time to go with the exercise. 12. Exercise : Okay, let's start with the exercise, how my sketchbook here, and I have a fresh sheet of paper to these exercises. Really interesting compared to the previous days, but we are going to start with the same shape as we did for Leo. I'm starting off with the base sheet. You can see it's a combination of m and now I'm adding another sheep. And we'll see how we can change all these shapes. And to our detailed board, I think I'll go with an M. Okay, so we have two ships there. Now, I'm going to add a black dot onto the intersection of these two lines where those wings are intersecting. Okay? You can see that instant difference, those so-called made. They're looking so good already, but that's not enough. You can see those lines are very thin and sharp will lead to make them look like wings. I'm going to add another one. I think I will add few machines so that we have more options when we are trying to Watts and bringing those bring down. So you can see here, unlike the boards we tried yesterday, anti, before, these ones here are, the openings are not in a symmetrical 90. I'm not going with an identical sheep on either side. I'm trying to bring in that moment in birds and that is a recent BI, I'm not really falling a symmetrical shape. So you can get a little creative. You can combine the sheep m, and we come up with all kinds of boards. These are just few examples. If you want to look at some real boards, maybe you can Google and look at the way how they are flying Israel. And again, try to recreate that flying portion. Okay. I'm going to add one or two more than we will see how we can change these into real poets, not real birds, real mockingbirds then aren't going to fly away from your sketchbook once you finished drying them. Such a badger grade. But even a word, they are going to look like they're going to fly away because it is going to be patriot elastic. Okay, So sub shapes here, you can see they are very rough shapes. For some of them, I begged him with a V-shape and for some of them, I combined V and M. For few of them, I tried an inverter. So we tried few competitions and aren't all of them. We added a teeny tiny so Coke or to the middle where the two wings are intersecting like a circle or an oval, just draw a rough sheep. Now to make them look more realistic, we are going to focus on this literal shape over the hurdle. For all the boards we did so far, we either added a teeny tiny circle or we added a combination of a circle and a triangle. I'll start with one board first and I'll show you how I'm going to make it more realistic. So first, I'm adding thickness to these wings. I'm not gonna do anything else. Had simply make them more tickle. I'll do the same on to the other side. You can add a thickness however you want to. Maybe if you want to take it more like Carl Lee fishy, you can do that or you can simply make it like a badge. Okay, so what will be the shape you're going good, whether it's an M or a week, or an inverted week, what would be the kind of formula coined word at the chemistry of things first? Now, I added a subcu and I'm bringing it down to make the team. You can add a teeny tiny beak as well. For all the bowtie tried hill, I've ended with the smallest size for the bird's body. If you want, you can make it move quicker. You can add a chubby Purdue OWL. You can add a longer body to bring in more interesting features. Okay, So with that, we're done with our exercise. You can see how beautiful that Review Board is looking. I'm really happy with this exercise. All of them are looking so nice. Now in the next section we're going to try our project. I hope you guys got your boards right and you're happy with them. Now let's quickly do a world-class predict for the day. I'm going to tape down my people. So we tried to six or seven boats and the previous exercise. I don't know if you've got all of them right. I'm pretty sure there will be at least one or two which you have Cartwright and that you're happy with it. So just focus on them. The ones which haven't got try legged that aside for now. So here's the two colors. I'll be using. Williams Great and permanent rose, the reusable, same colors for the water as foo. Now, instead of woman and draws, you can use carmine or crimson. Both of them will work perfect. I have some leftover paint on my palette because I had tried this color combination earlier. Maybe I might need a little more. I'm going to squeeze out some more paint onto my palette. I'm done with that being scri laid us quakes out of time. I don't know how many of you does this, but I always had the habit of leaving my paint half-open. I never close it properly. So whenever I'm done with my painting, I forget to close it properly. So I'm gonna do, uh, try to resubmit, I won't forget it. Now I'm going to squeeze out some Payne's gray. Payne's gray is from Sennelier. The permanent rose you saw was from shin hand. If you don't have Payne's gray, don't stress out you can use indigo and if you don't have integral, you can go with any other kind of blue. Just focus on the technique. You don't worry about the colors you are using. Okay, let's start with our painting. I'm applying a quarter of water onto my sky. Will be painting the sky first. And once it dries, we'll be removing the masking team and we'll be painting the water. All right, I have applied an even coat of water onto the sky. Now I'm switching to my half inch flat brush. And first I'm going to paint screen. I'm going with an Indian store and at blank batons the top of my people, as I said, I will be taking this drug most to the middle of that section. I'm using the side of my brush and I'm simply dragging my brush from either side. And I'm adding some lines. If you already can use a round brush asphalt, both of the brushes will work fine. I'm going with a bit more darker tones cause the ones I added earlier, it's not really visible. And I'm repeating the same. So don't get a lot of lines. We want to see that rule skeleton, the background. So make sure you're not adding a lot and you are not covering up that rose color, obese so that the sky, I'm really happy with the colors that is looking so intense. Now let's wait for this to dry. As you all know, watercolor tends to fade a little when it dries. It will be one dorm lighter than what you see right now, then the painting was wet. So if you want brighter colors in your end result, you will have to go with intense colors at the beginning itself. Here's a closer look of the sky. You can see those pretty colors. I used an intense to one of the rules and that is why it is looking so bright and bold. So when it dries, it won't feed, merge it with stream pride. The same brush I used to paint the birds. My size number 4, brush. Now pick any of that gray line you have added data. And onto the top of that, add half of your moon. Okay? So I have half the moon about that line. Now you can add the rest of your moon below that line. So it will look like that cloud is passing through your mood and it just cutting your moon. So altogether you should have a circular shape. We just cut them to do by the past and Cloud. Now you might have added your grid lines somewhere else. Maybe it was not like this. Maybe you have added them on the top. You can add your more variable you want to, you really don't need to follow the same sport that I didn't show. If you don't want to Klaus to pass through your moon. That is also okay. You can add them there. You have that solid rose color. All right, have added the more. And just like how we did earlier, drag your brush from either side towards the center. You can take it all goes to the middle. The Ada right below the moon has to stay in joules, so we'll be careful not to add a lot of green over there. You can add them onto either side. Don't worry if it is not looking that great. I have a trick to make it look better. Switch to your round brush, a smaller sized round brush, preferably, I'm using my size number 4 round brush, and I'm simply running my brush in a horizontal manner. Now this will add some lines on the water, but the same gray you have on either side. So there's simply pulling that paint on either side in and out and that we are creating some lines on the water which will automatically look like there are some proposed. Now I'm going with a darker tone and adding some lines on either side. Just to give it a little more tip, you don't need a lot. Just a few on either side where you have that darker tone of gray. As I mentioned earlier, please be careful not to add a lot of lines where you have your moon. I mean, the area right below the morning. Okay. So we have got some ripples on the water. Now, I'm going to switch to black. And I'm going to add mountains on either side. Just about the duty of every have added the darker tone of gray. Similarly, let's add some low lying margin on the left side, Aspen. Make sure not to add huge ones. This is the kind of science you should be following for your mountain. Good. I'm really loving the way this one is turning out, especially when we added doors Mountains. It is complementing that intense Ross guy. Okay, now it's time to go. And whenever you feel you're confident enough to add them onto your painting, you can come back and add that later. Okay. This challenge is to make your field relaxed and calm, not to stress you out. So they get as a learning experience and keep pushing your limits. Okay, I have added the base shape now. I'm going to add the bird's body, right where these two links are intersecting. I'm not adding the beak. I'm going to add a so-called first. And from that, I'm going to add up to you. That's the head. Now from there, I'm going to take it backwards, like the shape of a Hong. You'll get to see that soon. So today's exercise majorly focused on two boards. These two here will be doing a combination of these spots on our painting. We'll be just playing with those two. And there'll be creating a group of them. These ones are going to be super tiny, super quick, and super realistic. So to draw this teeny tiny birds, it is very important to have a brush which has a pointed tip. I'll be using the same brush. So if you don't have a brush which has a pointed tip, you can use your pen. For the exercise. I'll be using my pen and for the painting, I'll be using my brush. While we are doing the exercise. You can try them with your pen and your brush, and which will be the one you're more comfortable with. You can use that for your painting if you're not getting them right with your brush, don't worry, just keep using your brush. Switch to our painting. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. Here are the three colors I'll be using for this painting. You can see that beautiful purple undertones. To get that, I'll be mixing permanent violet and permanent rules. These two colors here. I'll be mixing bat. Now over the middle, I'll be using permanent rose. Then over to the bottom, I'll be using permanent yellow, orange. And for the water, I'll be using the same colors as a mirror image. If you don't have a whitewater glow, feel free to mix and create your own violet. If you don't have wide, if you can mix and create your own, you can use any of your blue and crimson or carmine. I'm not using the wider directly. I'll be mixing permanent rose to my wireless to get a reddish proper, to get a similar color when you're creating your violet, you can mix more red to it and reduce the amount of blue. Okay? Then insert permanent rules. You can use carmine or crimson, both of them will work fine. Then introduced bomber, yellow, orange, you can either use yellow ocher or any of your ear lobe. Now from here, I'm going to add the wing, then filling that in black. Okay, so we have added to a board and a similar way. Only the direction of the wings are different restaurants all the same. So these are the only two boards we'll be adding in today's painting. But we'll be going with a smaller size. We won't be adding them and such huge size, if we are going with such huge size, we need to add more details onto it. Because at this scale you will see a lot more details. You'll be able to see the wing properly, the head of beak and all that. So that is a sheath. Now I'm going to switch to my brush and black wash. You can use your black watercolor asphalt. It is very important to go with a brush which has a pointed tip because the birds, we're going to add our two tiny. Okay, so I'm going to start off with a line just like how we did for this one. But a short line, not as long as the previous one that has a size. Now I'm not going to add the head or the belly. You just need a line. Then from there I'm going to add a wing, like a triangular shape. Okay, so that is how our bird is going to be. These birds are too far from you, so you don't need to add a lot of details. Now, I'm going to flip the wing. And I'm going to draw the second bird again, starting with the short line. Now adding the wing facing down. You can see it's a triangular shape. You can see how easily I managed to draw these two boards. These other two boards will be using in our painting, only focusing on these tool. So all you need to do is add a line than adequate. Like a triangular shape. It can be either facing up or facing down. Okay? Symbol, right? Give it a try. The Japan, and also with your brush and just see it for yourself. Which one is coming right? Because the size of very important, we need them as tiny as possible. So do give it a try with your pen and your brush and choose the one which you are more comfortable work. Okay, so for the same bird, you can show the other wing and make it a different type. If you want, you can use the third type also in your painting, but I will only be using this tool. I'll be creating a group using these two boards data set. Now before we wrap up the exercise section and let me show you this board one more time just to make it more clear for you. So I'm starting off with the line. It can be either straight or it can be little client then add in your way and it can be either towards the top or it can be facing down the billions more like a triangular shape. You don't need to put a lot of effort and defining the shape because this one is still tiny. Something like a triangular shape us all to me. Now I'm drawing the same board in a bigger scale, lot more time just to make it super clear for you. Only have the skill you will need to make it more detail. You will need to show the head and the belly. For the size we're going to use. You just need to add a line and gotten a few links. That is all you need to add. Now, did they quickly add few mobile? Then I will choose some reference photograph. Then we will go with about class project. All right, I hope the idea is clear. All right, I have fixed my people will be painting the sky and the water separately. So I will need to add a masking tape to separate the sky and the water. So I'm going to apply my masking tape a little below the center of my people. First we will be in the sky and when it tries field and more than masking tape and helping the water. Okay. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use today. Here is the three colors I'll be using permanent violet, permanent rules, and permanent yellow, orange, I will be using permanent valid directly. If you don't have permanent yellow orange, you can use yellow ocher or any other yellow. Now instead of permanent rose, you can use carmine or crimson, just like I said yesterday. Also, if you want to create a yellow orange, just like the name says, you can mix any orange to yellow and create a similar color. So feel free to Goldwater be the colors you have caught that you, you really don't need to be using the same clothes. Also, if you don't have valid, you can mix and create your own violet by mixing any blue to carmine or crimson. As I said, I'll be going but reddish purple. So when you're creating a while it make sure to add more, more crimson or carmine to the mix and reduce the amount of blue so that you will get a reddish violet eyes closed out and permanent rose. Now I'm going to add some permanent violet. The next color as permanent yellow, orange. As I said, we'll just need a of this color. I already have something to my palette, so I'm not going to squeeze out any more pomonella orange. That would be enough. Okay, so we have everything ready. The first step is to apply a coat of water onto the sky. I have my 1.5 inch wash brush. I'm applying a clean, even colder water. Just run your brush multiple times to make sure water has reached everywhere. And this will also prevent water from paddling up. Now I'm switching to my half-inch flat brush. And I'm going to mix while a temple minerals together to create that beautiful purple sheet. So as I said, you can mix any of your blue word, crimson, Old carmine, and create a similar color. Make sure to add more crimson than blue. It will add more blue. It will look more like a bluish violet. You won't get that reddish purple. Okay? I only have a cologne or similar globe, which is called mineral violet, again function. But I perform mixing my colors. This color is more pretty. Looks like my paper has dried. I think I kept talking for too long. Let me quickly a player coat of water. I'm going to clean my brush right away or fight. I may forget to do that. And next time when I'm using it for applying water onto my people, I may get a violet on it. Okay, now I'm going back to that pure full-color. You can see how ecologists is cauldrons looking. Seems like they add a lot of Watteau like me quickly by both the excess water from the masking tape. Otherwise, this may feel back into my painting and create some DOD bleeds along the border. You can see how a car just like colors looking, it is more like a quinacridone violet. Now I'm going to wash out the paint from my brush and I'm dabbing my brush on of people to work. Now, I'm switching to permanent roles. Going with a meeting today. I'm being careful not to pick that violet. I want to clean Permanent Rose Hill going with some more intense color blending, but for the purpose of a hat on the top. Now when you're adding crimson or carmine or rows, don't take that to the bottom. You need to live a little ascap and there, this is where we're going to add though, permanent yellow, orange. I'm taking a good doctors color. If you're using a load, that's absolutely okay. You're just adding a bit of that. You can see I just added a, a bit of yellow and I blended that with the loss on the top. So here you have a clean blend of wireless roles and yellowish orange. Now I'm going to switch back to wireless and I'm going to add some streaks onto those Chi to make our sky look more beautiful. Going with the same color I created earlier. This time, I'm going with a much more taco tool. Once you have Duke and paint on your brush, just dab your pressure on people to vote so that the paper towel to absorb the excess amount of water from your pin. Now, you can add some lines onto the sky. I'm using my flat brush. You can use your down threshold so you will need to address lines when your sky is still wet. You shouldn't be waiting for too long. Also make sure to go the beam which is not too watery. If you're being just too watery, those lines will start spreading into the background. There is no rule or any particular shape for these patterns. You can simply add some lines or some patterns on your sky. They're adding some randomly shaped clouds to make up sky look more traumatic. And going with a bit more Incans sheet. And I'm going to add few more lines onto the sky. Be very gentle. Don't put a lot of pressure to strengthen Taco down onto the red background. If you're not too sure about the consistency and just dab your brush on a paper towel so that it wants to read a lot into the background. Okay. I'm not going to add a lot on the yellow part. I'm going to leave that acidosis. This is the color I'm using. I'm mixing while a tendrils together. Maybe I can add some more on the top. I think I can call it done. I have added enough lines. Here is a closer look up this guy. I'm really loving this color combination, but purples looking so pretty right? Okay, Now let's wait for this to dry. And after that we'd been dewater. I took a break and I came back, but distill hasn't tried, especially that bottom Media Lab, we have that yellowish orange and also do some bleed on the left side, which I'm not really happy about, but never mind. I'm going to peel off the masking deep and I'll wait for some more time. Meanwhile, I'm gonna relax and try a pattern for the birds, which we can add onto this guy. I'm gonna get my sketchbook and I'm going to simply add some books onto this. Just trying out some patterns to add the board. I'll be using my size number 4 damp brush and I'm calling that black wash. These boats are too tiny. So we'll try it with your brush and also video pen. And if you're not getting them right with your brush, feel free to use your pen. So this can be exercised or decide on whether you should be equipped with your pen or your brush. Just give it a try with both Bannon thrush. Because the boards we're going to add today are super tiny and I don't want you guys to take a chance. So give it a try with both your pen and brush and decide on which one you're more comfortable with. I'll go with that. This is the kind of size I'll be using for the boats. You can see it is very tiny. This is actually one of my most favorite kind of boards. It is very easy, but it looks so realistic asphalt. I hope you guys were able to follow the exercise and you guys are happy with your birds. So we started off with a simple line and onto the top or the bottom, we added a wing and that was it. I won't be going with any complicated part. I'll be simply taking them as the line. So it will look like all the birds are following the one and the friend. If you want to go with a more interesting pattern, maybe you can look at some reference photograph and tried to recreate it that way. I had already shared pure reference images with you. You can either follow one of that or you can go with a completely new pattern. So for the painting, I'll only be using these two types. Feel will have their wing onto the top and fill will have their being towards the bottom. So I'll be playing with just two types. And this is the exact same size are we using for the painting? Because the painting, they are doing us too tiny and the horizon line is quite far from you. So it is better to COVID smaller boards to make it look more realistic. All right, let me see if my painting has dried. Okay. It looks like it has dragged, but I have got our dirty bleed on the left side. I need to somehow corrupt that. Never mind. Maybe I'll add a mountain or whatever. Now let's paint the water. So we're going to use the same colors we use for the sky, for the water as well. We're going to do it as a mirror image. So I'm starting off with the common yellow orange is a happiness to your loop. You can go with yellow. Yellow, orange, or yellow, or what will be the color you have used? And I'll add that right below the horizon line. We just need a little just overkill. Okay, that's it. Now, I'm going to wash out the paint from my brush. And I'm going to switch to permanent rose. Now adding that right where we stopped at yellow. Now blending those colors, you don't need a clean blend here. We can just leave it as it. Finally, I'm going with that purple we created earlier. Mixing violet Andrews and creating that gorgeous purple. Now filling up that remaining IDA and this color and blending that with the rows. Okay? Now using the same brush, add some purple on either side, and just drag the paint from either side towards the center. Okay. So they have finished painting the sky and the water. The base layer is done. Now let's wait for that to dry. Okay, My dear friends here is how about paintings looking once everything has dried, I'm really sad about this bleed. I was actually planning to live the horizon line precedence without adding any mountain. But now to curb that, I'll have to add a mountain. So I'm switching to black wash. I have some leftover paint here. You can either use black quash for black watercolor. Both of them move up profit. Luckily the blood isn't too huge. I can go at a low line mountain. So I'm taking my mountain and the shape of that bleed and coding that up. If you're writing a mountain and make sure not to add a huge one. Goal. What a similar size, it shouldn't be too huge, otherwise you will lose that propulsion. I'll take this off most of the murder and onto the other end, I will add up thin strip. All right, So that is the mountain. You can see how beautiful those colors are looking when we added those black mountain. Now let's wait for that to dry. Meanwhile, let's add the shore. Let's add the shoreline foods. I'm using black and I'm using the same brush. Adding the shoreline. Want to have add a new shoe line. You can fill up that area below the shoreline in black. I'm using black questions. You can go with black gouache or blackwater color. Doesn't really matter. Just fill up that entire Ada and black. All right, that's done. Now let's wait for that to dry. Meanwhile, let's switch to the purple we created earlier and we're going to add some light onto the water to make it look more realistic. Go with a medium tone. Just one don't darker than the color you have on the water. It shouldn't be too dark. Now simply add some lines onto the water, especially on either side. You shouldn't be adding a lot where you have that yellow leave that area acids. This line to add a little more depth trouble painting. Right now the water is looking so you can see the lines I'm adding cure, they are not too prominent. This is just because I'm going with a medium tone. I'm not using any indents donkey a similar way and go to medium tone and add some myotome ACO side. You can see those lines are too light. They are not looking too prominent. This is what we need. You can see I didn't add any lines over the middle of that. I have yellow ocher. Now I'm switching to a wide sharpen. If you don't have a white gel pen, feel free to COVID. You're white gouache and detailing brush. I think whereby children as much more convenient kind of pressure because you don't need to load your brush with paint. You don't need to wash your brush. There are so many things that the effort is much lesser compared to using your paint and brush. Now added myocin, just a half, so cool, right above the horizon line. Now let's add the reflection. Starting from the horizontal line. Just add some white lines and take it to the bottom where you have your short line. This is the same way you shouldn't be doing. Even if you are using your brush. You can load your brush with white gouache or white watercolor. Adding your son, then add some white lines right below where you have your son and take it to the bottom. At some places you can extract those white lines are the more wider. Okay. So the sun and the reflection as well. Now it's time to define the waves and that short line. Define the shoe as well. I'm going to use my white children, but feel free to go with your white gouache or white watercolor if you don't have a white children. Now along that line you have added over the bottom just Daniel wide sharpen and add a line following that showed it to smooth curvy line or a straight line. Make it a little irregular line. Okay, so that is the first step. Now using the same thing, I'm adding some dried lines. It is not a solid line. I'm just adding some texture over there. You can do the same thing that the oppression also go with either white gouache or white toward the club. Squeeze out a bit. Now load your brush with white gouache or white watercolor. Then W brush on a paper towel just to make sure the paint is not at all watery. You can dab the brush on the paper towel multiple times. Now, run your brush along that white line and create some dry brush patterns. Just burst out white color a little into the sea. This wouldn't make dashboard line look for me. You can see the kind of texture I'm getting there. Some dry white patches. Okay. So all I did was I took white paint on my brush, then I dab my brush on a paper towel. And using that dry paint, I added some texture along that short line. Okay, So this is Harley you should be doing with your brush. Now I'm switching back to my white children and I'm adding two more waves. I added one, adding unadorned dried behind that. When I'm adding these leaves, I'm trying to follow a similar line like the shore, not exactly the same. Something some low. So this is how you should be adding new leaves. You can see how easily I added the sun that affliction and those waves using a white children. So it is good to have a wide job been in your collection just to pick your process and food. And now we're going with the last but the most important step of this painting. I'm going with my size and we'll call it on-prem. And I'm loading my brush with some black color. And we're going to add the ports. So I'm going to add my board starting from the middle and I will take them to the right side. I'm not going to follow any complicated part. I'll make it simple. Maybe something like the one we tried all your make this one. Okay. So let's start. I hope the technique was easy and you guys were able to follow the way I did the books. And isn't that complicated? Maybe you will have to try a few times to get it right. I'm not sure whether you guys to do with your pen or your brush. You can either go with your pen or your brush. It doesn't really matter. And getting them right is what matters. So young, feel free to go with whatever you feel comfortable. But I have added my first teeny tiny bone. You can see how realistic that is looking. It is really easy if you get the hang of it. All you need to do is add a line. It can be little England, Australia. Then onto that you can add your wing. The wing can be facing up or facing down. So as I mentioned earlier, I'll only be using these kind of bird, just the stool. I will add few more similar boats. I'm not going to follow any particular path or baton. I'm simply adding them from here to the right end. So if you want to follow any particular product or any particular interesting pattern, you could do that. Maybe you can look at some reference photograph, just like I showed you earlier. And for low-end interesting part for your boards. Okay, Let me quickly add some more and finish up the painting. I was actually planning to stop the boats right? About that son. I was not planning to take it beyond that, but I went a little overboard. I'm going to add one last board and I'm going to finish up the painting. All right. I think I can stop it there. Otherwise, I will go overboard and fill up the end day, those kind words. Maybe one more. Oh my God, this is just sort their appetite. Okay. I'm calling it a ton. I'm not going to add anymore. Now let's peel off the masking tape and have a look at the finished painting. But another beautiful predict and exercise. 17. DAY 5: Hello dear friends. Welcome to Day 5. Today there is no new exercise. We're just gonna use the same boards we learned yesterday. The stool. Here is the painting that we're going to do today. We're going to use the same birds and we are going to create our bigger group of poets. We're going to do a beautiful based on sky today. Yeah, Let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. So these are the three colors I'll be using for the sky. For the top. That blue you see here, it's turquoise blue. And over here I'm using permanent rose and alter the bottom. I'll be using this brilliant orange. You can use any of the orange you have caught. And instead of permanent rose, you can use carmine or crimson. Alright, now, for those clouds, I'll be using violet. If you have a little bit wider, you can use that or you can mix and create your own. Okay, I think we are good to go. This is going to be very quick and easy because you already know how to add these birds. Okay, Let's give it a try. 18. Exercise: So today we don't have a new exercise. We're just going to use the same birds we learned yesterday. So this is the same boards going to be using today, just like yesterday. But today we'll be creating a bigger, an interesting group of birds. I don't know if you've got and try to, your brush or a penny is 2D. So which will be the method you use. You can use the same method to the Asper. Just to refresh the exercise, I will quickly draw some books using my brush. I'm using my size number 4 round brush. Add a line, then drag your brush towards the top in an inclined manner. And that is the board. You can do the same under the opposite direction as well. You can add a wing facing down. Boats we're going to add today is going to be a bit bigger than the ones we added yesterday. Because the ones we added yesterday was too far from you. It was beyond the horizon line. But the ones we're doing today as bit more closer to you. So it has to be a bit more bigger than yesterday's. And unlike the other paintings, there is no other element in our painting. So we'll have to focus a bit more on the bird. I'll show you that again using my brush on a watercolor people. So add an inclined line, then try to push towards the top in an inclined manner and add the link. Okay. Now today's boat can have a little unfinished look. You don't need to use such sharp and crisp lines. You can leave it a little rough. This will make them look more interesting. So here is a closer look of the birds. You can see I simply drag my brush towards the top. And those lines are looking little graph. And this is exactly what we need. We don't need such sharp and crisp shapes. So I'm just dragging the tip of my brush. This portion. Once you have added direct line, I'm just dragging this portion of my brush towards the top. Simply dragging that in freehand manner. Just tracking. Okay. You can see how beautiful and realistic of a bird is looking. The same thing can be done to the opposite side as well. So you have two types of birds and you can create an interesting pattern using these two types. Alright, I think we are good to go. Let's quickly get onto our project and let's add an interesting pattern of these ports. This is one of my most favorite way to add a board. If you're adding them on a day sky, maybe you can call with a lighter tone. You don't need to use black. And if we're using it on our evening sky or a night sky, you can go directly with black, which will make them look more prominent. But on a nice guy, you can go with a lighter tone or later create a color similar to what I have here. Okay, I hope that technique is clear. Now let's quickly get onto our project. 19. Project: All right, let's start with a project. It is going to be a quick one today, we'll be doing a business guy and onto that we'll be adding a group of birds, will be using the same bird we did yesterday. Okay, so let me fix my people first, then I will show you the colors that I'm going to use. You already saw them at the introduction section. I will quickly take you through them again, and I'll also give you some articles if you don't have the same clothes. So today, unlike the other days, we won't be adding any other elemental painting. It will be a simple sky and a group of birds, a big group of birds. We will make them fly in an interesting pattern, and that is what we're going to do today. I have fixed my people. Now, let me show you the colors that I'm going to use today. Now it is not at all necessary that you have to use the same colors. I'm going to try a piece of sky, but it is totally your choice what colors you want to call it. So here are the colors that I'm going to use. For the base layer of the sky I will be using took ice blue, permanent rules. And this orange, this one is brilliant orange. So these are the three colors I'll be using for the sky, for the base layer, then on to that to add some clouds, I'll be using permanent toilette. Okay. So I'm guessing you all have two coins, blue. If you don't have to, guys blue, you can use any other blue, just go with a lighter tone. Now if you don't have permanent violet, you can mix and create your own violet by mixing love crimson or carmine, red, blue. Now the brilliant orange CIO has the name, sees it as a bright orange. You can use any of the orange detail caught and install permanent rose. You can either use carmine or crimson. I had tried to color combination on a scrap piece of paper, so I already have some colors on my palette. I'll need some more turquoise, blue. I have uniform rules and orange. We'll just need a pinch off all these colors as they're going with the lighter tone, then I may need some more violet. So looking squeezed out onto my palette. So the colors are ready. It is a veteran red sky. So the first step is to apply a clean, even coat of water onto the entire paper. For that, I'm using my 1.5 inch wash brush and I'm running my brush across the paper and applying an even coat of water. I'm making sure water has restart do rare. You can't see that nice shiny coat on my people. Now for this painting, I'm using my round brush. This one is size number eight, round brush by silver black velvet brush. You can use any of your medium tool because I strong crash. I'm going with turquoise blue for a medium tone. Adding that onto the top of my paper. Make sure you're not going with the taco tone. Now when you're adding a pain to leave some white gaps in between and go with a very random manner. Now what are the paint from your brush? Now switch to your second chute, which is permanent roles for me, you might have used car, might have cumsum. Now add actin. Now the second sheet also you can add that in a video randomly. You don't need to blend that with the blue. You can leave some white gaps in between, like I did here. Now, again, I'm going to wash off the paint from my brush and I'm switching to this orange glow with a medium tone. Add that in. You can see I'm not really going with a clean blend tool. I'm simply dropping my colors onto the wet background. So I started off with turquoise blue. Then I added some pink. Then onto the bottom, I added some orange. I went into the meeting today. I'm going to wash up the paint from my brush and it's time to switch to wireless. We're going to add some clouds onto this. Make sure your brushes totally clean. You can go with a medium tone, a wireless. Don't make it too watery. Once you have taken your paint to make sure it's not too watery, you can tap your brush on a paper towel. And then I do clouds and let us know the rule. You can add it wherever you want. I'm going to focus more on the blue and pink area. Because an orange, it will create a gray strong. So to reading that righted color, I'm going to add more or the top portion. I'll be adding only fuel on the orange part. Okay. Now I want to have applied the base layer. You should immediately think for too long. If you read for too long, your background would try up and you won't be able to get that cloudy feel. The violet color you are applying or to the background won't spread like this. So we'll make sure not to wait for too long adding your violet right away after you have applied your base layer to make sure the right, it is not too watery. If you like, your paint is too watery, you can tap the brush on of people tabu. Okay, So this is how Alice Guy is looking. I'm cleaning my brush properly and I'm dabbing a ton of people to a room. Now using that clean brush, there is no paint on this. I'm gently running my brush on top of these clouds, especially on the ADRs where it needs to help him planting. I'm not putting a lot of pressure. It is a Gen 2 FECA Dutch. Just to make those rough patches look a little more small toe. You can see how gently and running my brush. Please make sure not to put a lot of pressure. If you put a lot of pressure, you will be distributing your base layer and the beam may come off and you would get some rough patches on your painting. So turn your brush in a very small change in nano. Even you people should know that your timing, your brush on top of it. It should be done Qingdao. Alright, so several sky. I'm really happy with the color composition and the whole sky. Alright, now let's wait for this guy to dry. And after that we'll be adding a group of books on to this. You guys remember this image I shared yesterday? I'm trying to create a similar pattern. I wouldn't be having these mini-projects. It might take forever to finish that. And let's quickly start with the word class project. Today we're going to paint a simple yet a beautiful sky. Will be going with a simple blend of three colors. There was no clouds or any other complicated technique involved in today's class predict. Because I know most of you guys are quite scared of clouds, just like Burt cloud or something, which takes a bit of practice. You will have to get the hang of the water control and then it is going to be really easy. Take it slow. Don't rush. Don't just focus on the Andrew silt. Start enjoying the process. Otherwise, you will get frustrated with watercolor and you may not be feeling like picking it up again. So never focus on the underserved. Start giving more importance to your process than the intercept. This way you will enjoy the process even if you make mistakes. Okay, so I have fixed my people. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. So here are the two major colors I'll be using for the sky. Brilliant orange and red. You can use any orange and red you have covered and missing drilling oranges because I have some leftover from yesterday. You can use warmly and also so you just need any kind of orange and bold and bright red. Those are the two colors you will need for the sky. And as we come towards the bottom, we'll be mixing a little of black to red to get dark red. Let me squeeze out some rate and we will quickly get onto the painting. Okay, so the colors are ready. As I said, feel free to go with Amy, red and orange. It doesn't really need to be these two columns here. Okay, Now let's start by applying that clean coat of water onto the anterior people. Daniel brush multiple times to make sure there's no puddles of water in between 0. Now I'm switching to my flat brush. So the base voltage is going to be a smooth blend of orange, red and dark red. So I'm starting with that brilliant orange. I'm adding that color on the top. I'll start with the light to Dawn and as they come down, I'll make the color more intense. Okay, so that is brilliant orange. Now from here, I'm going to switch to red. I'm going with an intense storm and filling up that enter your IDA in dread. Okay, so here we have applied a clean blend of orange generate. Now I'm going to make some black with red to get darker tone of red. We want that tomato niche sort of a color. Now, apply that over the bottom. So on the top we're going the lighter tone and we are making our sky dark and intense. At the bottom. You can go with as intense colors as you want. The sky is pretty simple. They're just going with the clean district fellows. You can see how bold and beautiful others carriers looking. Now I'll just flip my people. I just turned it upside down and I will just dry my brush from top to bottom and make the blend a little more smarter. In B, I'll just switch to a clean Bushnell through it. I'll just wash of the P and W Kubota clean dry. Now again, I'm going to wash of the pain and other spiritual orange. Again, blending the colors well. Okay, so the colors are used very orange, red and dark red. I want the sky to be lighter on the top and darker over the bottom. So this is how our sky is looking right now. Now we'll wait for this to dry. And after this we will add our bird and a tree and a sun. You can see how Borland beautiful door scholars are looking. This is exactly what we need. This is very important to get those clean, sharp and crisp lines. I'm starting with the main branch first. We're just going to be slightly thicker than the rest. You can take it a little beyond the center of your paper. Whenever you're ending your branch, make sure to end it as a thin and sharp line. It shouldn't be too thick at the end. Now, onto this main branch, you can add as many branches as you want. I'm not going to add any leaves onto this. I want some bare, empty branches. Now we can go with any other subject to our composition for your painting. If you want to add your trees hanging from the top, you could do that. Or if you want to completely skip the tree and add some mountain, that also can be done a 100 again, add some trees, are some plants or where the bottom. So feel free to Google to your imagination. You all are so much more creative than me because I have seen your class project from 30-day watercolor challenge and even this one, most of you have gone, but such onlys in composition and subjects, Wheels, cars. And you have done a great job. So do the same under this one asphalt. Let your imagination go wild and compose your painting in the most beautiful way. Maybe it will look more brittle if we add more branches onto it. So the next step is to add the sun. You can add it very well. This will make your sandpaper from that bright orange sky and it will make it more beautiful. It will make your sky much more prettier than going with a white sun. So good at Yellowstone. Okay, so let me quickly add few more branches and finish up the painting. Okay. We are done with the whole painting for days, so I'm really happy with the way this has turned out. Today we're going to recreate the same bird and a smaller size. This will be the size will be using for our painting as the size of the boats are quite small today, I'm using my pen instead of a brush. The exercise is going to be exactly the same. So if you have got a dried yesterday, you're good to go. The only difference is that we're going to recreate the same bird and a smaller size. Now here's the thing that we're going to do today. You can see the size of the box. This is a size we're going to go with. So you can go with either your brush or your pen. If you're using a brush, you'll have to make sure you're using a brush which has a pointed tip. It could be a detailing brush. Okay, now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use for the sky. I'll be going with the combination of orange and red. The orange I'm going to use a senator. Orange and red are spiral trade. You can go with any orange intra-arterial God. And for the water, I'll be mostly using indigo. You can see there's a tint of red right next to the Sun. So I'll be using a pinch of the red and the rest will be in blue. Okay? So those are all the colors you will need. Okay, I hope you guys got a quick idea about what are we going to do today? Now let's quickly have a look at the exercise, the same exercise we did yesterday. And let's try the same boat and a smaller size. 24. Exercise: Hello, my dear friends. How are you all doing? I hope you all are staying safe and well, how was the astuteness exercise? I hope you guys were able to follow the exercise and you manage to draw these birds. So today we don't have a new exercise. We are going to make use of the same bird here. We are going to try the same boat and a smaller size. And that is where we're going to add to our painting. Let's give it a quick dry before we cope with our projects. So I'm starting off with the hair. From there. I'm adding a line, then adding the belly, taking it to the end of the line. Adding a teeny tiny beak. Now adding the wing. So for this one, I went in with an inclined line. I'll also do the same using a straight line. So those are the two types of board we'll be adding onto were painting. Okay. So I'm again adding a head from there. I'm adding a straight line, then adding the belly of the poor, adding an arc, then filling that in black. That is how I'm drawing them early. And depending on the size of the board, who can add a teeny tiny beak, then add a wing. Okay, so I have added two boards there now or do the first one, I'm going to add the second ring. So for foo of the birds, I think for two of them, I'm going to show the second wing for the rest of the birds. I'm only showing one wing. I'll be adding phi similar boards onto the sky. Now SSIs are, the boats are quite small. I'm going with the pen. Once I'm done with the painting, I'll be using a pen to add these boards. You get chose to use your brush or pen. You have to keep in mind, these are very tiny. So if you're using a brush, you will have to use a detailing brush, a bigger brush, room floor. I feel I'm much more confident that the bend data brush. So I'm using a pen. You don't need to be shameful about that. You can directly use your pen. That has no problem. If an gears you want to use your brush, make sure to use are detailing brush. Dress retests are pointed tip, which is size number 1 or 0. If you're going with your brush, I would recommend you to try it out on a scrap piece of paper before you add them onto your painting. This way, you will be very confident that you'll be able to get the smallest ice bird using your brush. Okay, now with our anymore dual, Let's start with the opposite. 25. Project: Okay, let's start with the project for the dean. I have my paper ready here. First. I'm going to fix my people onto this board to these predictors going to be really simple because you already know how to draw these boards. We did them yesterday. We'll be using the same book, but we'll be adding them and a smaller size. The overall painting is also going to be really simple. We'll be going with that they're involved. We won't be adding any Cloud or anything onto the sky. So that is also simple. Then the water as well. There is no complicated techniques at all. So it is really going to be already simple yet a beautiful painting. So for this painting, we'll be painting the sky and the sea separately. So I'm starting off with a lighter tone of orange and adding that on the top of my people. As I come down, I'll make the orange more intense. I'm using a flat brush. You can either use a flat brush or a round brush. To get a smooth blend. It is better to go with a medium job because as pressure, if you go to the smallest size brush, you wouldn't be able to create that blend easily. Okay, now I'm switching to read. I'm going with an Indian strong, applying that over the bottom. Now I'm digging that towards the top and blending that with that lighter tone of orange I have there. Try to create a smooth blend of these two kilos. So the idea is to have a lighter tone over the top and closer to the horizon line. I want an indent on. You can go with any color that you prefer. If you want to go with the yellow Android, you could do that. Okay, so feel free to go with the color of your choice. Now, I'm going to turn around my people and I'm going to run my pressure from top to bottom. And I'm going to make that blend even more smarter. Okay, that's that is I was Cai now let's wait for this to dry. I had tried this color combination or a scrap piece of paper. So this is how it is going to look. The remotely using indigo for the water. And we'll be adding just a bunch of read writable here. And with the darker tone of indigo will be adding some dropouts on the water. So with today's project, you will learn how we can make use of the exercise as you learned earlier, and how you can use the same in your projects. This bird here is a great example. We are going to use the same word we learned earlier. And I'm going to change that into a sunset theme. So I'm going to make it look like the sunlight is hitting on to that poll. We had tried quite a lot of options. So you can go with any of the board which are more comfortable. But I'm going with that first one we tried because that is the most easiest one for me. Instead of this bird, maybe you can use this one ASCO. It is going to be the same technique. We'll be painting them in orange and then we'll be adding brown and more people don't onto that. So we'll just read in that orange part to make it look like the sunlight is hitting on to that, the rest is going to be the same. So you can choose which body want to covert. It can be either the sperm or the one we did yesterday. Okay. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. I think going to already get the clothes. So here are the for the sky. I'll be using permanent Brown, Foreman yellow, orange, and yellow. And I'll be using the same colors for the water as for now, just over hero for the mountain, I'll be using a pinch off 1 million. Okay? So these are the main three colors which I'll be using for this guy. Cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, orange, and permanent brown. This one is more of a yellowish orange. It just not an intense orange. Adding that in, blending that with the brown. Now clean your brush again, we're going to switch to yellow. This first cadmium yellow, you can use gamboge yellow or yellow ocher and actin and blend that with the orange. Okay, So that is the sky. If you want the sky to be more intense, you can call it my new layer and make the colors more taco and try to, I'm pretty happy with this guy and I'm going to leave it here. Next. I'm going to add a sun or washer. I won't be adding paint. I'm going to pick my people toggle. And I'm going to lift off some paint. On day one, we used to have a brush using our brush, we took off some paint. Today. I'm going to do the same thing, getting more people to our you can either use a paper towel or approach. Now, we're going to switch to permanent yellow, orange. Go with a medium tone. I'll add that on top of this orange bit. You can already see that glow. Maybe you can make the color more lighter. I'm going with a clean brush and chest on the top. I'm making the color later that the IDA is closer to the sun. Make it as light as possible so it will really look like the sunlight is hitting on the mountain, then already see that effect TO. So when you make it more lighter, the effect would be more prominent. We just need to do this just onto that middle area. The rest can be a brown mountain. Okay. Now I'm switching back to Brown and I'm going to change the shape of the mountain, maybe all here and make it a bit more taller. I'm going the darker tone now. The site also make it a bit taller. Okay. I'm really happy with the sun kissed effectively card here. And is really looking so-called tune. It is very easy. And there'll be adding two perspectives. The same way how we did yesterday. It was indigo yesterday, but today it is found that it's included a friend. The steps are going to be the same. Okay. Okay, So simply adding your color, start with yellow. Then closer to that, you can add in your orange, then onto the rest of the ALU, you can either add MSG or permanent brown. So I'm using my flat brush. It's a clean brush. Now starting from the top, I'm dragging my brush down. You can see how the paint came along. Every time you do the step, you need to clean your brush. Maybe you need to do one of two times to get a better effect. And also you shouldn't be waiting for too long. You'll have to do it while you're background's too wet. For all these days, we were using a lot of white children or by quarter are the deflection. Keep on adding your lines. Whenever you're adding lines to only do you need to keep in mind that there should be some gap in-between the lines you're adding shouldn't be too close to each other. We do see that background color. The second key point you need to keep in mind is the line will be thicker over the bottom and it will be thinner and lighter as you're closer to the horizon line. So keep that in mind. You can add as many lines as you want over the bottom. They can be dark and thick. But when you're closer to the horizon line, we need to call it the light to tune. Adding less lines and the lines you're adding, they should be in a lighter tool. Okay. You can see here, I'm not really stopping my lines when I'm closer to the reflection. I'm running my lines on top of them. So DQ line through them. Don't stop it over there. You can continue your lines. You can see here, I didn't add a lot of lines and I'm closer to the horizon line. And whatever I'm adding, they are in a very delicate manner. They are very thin and light compared to the one top or the bottom. I think we can add some more taco tombs for the bottom, I'm going with a darker tone of brown. Adding some multicolor lines. Make sure you're not adding any onto the top. I think I'm able to feel the Sense8, that warm summer evening. You can see how God you, that water's looking, that affliction and those ripples. So as I'm doing, you're adding your troubles only on the bottom. It is just some thicker lines using a darker tone of brown. Okay, now I'm adding some lines, right, and winning the mountain or either end. I won't be adding any onto the middle that area. I'm going to leave it accidents. Few lines on either side. Okay. I added the enter your board in orange. Now I'm going to switch to Brown, and I'm going to add some tones of brown and between materials like the mountain. And for the board as well, you can use any of the other board we tried. Maybe you can use the same boat we did yesterday, and that's also a huge bowl for that also you can bring in this effect. Today we are going to paint a beautiful cloudy sky and we're going to use the same board we did here. But we'll be going with a lighter tone that is only the friends. I'll be using a lighter tone of Payne's gray to add support. Here are several blue fluffy, cloudy sky. This is where we're going to do today. It is very easy and very quick. But I'm pretty sure it is going to be really helpful in your future projects. You can use this cloudy sky and these birds in your future projects as well. So here are the two colors I'll be using, Payne's Gray and turquoise blue. The shadow you'll see here that is using Payne's gray and blue. You see here as turquoise blue. If you don't have Payne's gray or feel free to go with a lighter tone of black. Don't stress out on that. And if you don't have to color is blue, you can use any other blue color code. It can be Prussian blue, spirulina, and blue. Ultramarine blue, bright blue, literally any blue doesn't matter at all. Okay? So don't worry if you don't have the same colors. If you're ready with your colors quickly join me in the next section. Let's start with the object. 29. Project: Okay, let's start with the project. I have my piece of paper ready here. First. I'm going to tape down my people onto this board. Today we're not going to use bright and bold colors like the other days we are gonna do assemble. This guy will be doing that. This guy with some white fluffy clouds, which can be used in your future projects as well. And we'll be adding some boats onto that cloudy sky. So today's class project is going to be really helpful for your future paintings. You can use the same techniques in your other paintings as well. Okay, I have fixed my people. Now this is a bet on red sky. It is very easy, but it is a bit tricky. So if you haven't done a cloudy sky before, I would suggest you to watch the entire lesson first and then come back and paint along. Because there are certain things you need to keep in mind when you're painting a cloudy sky. We are going to read in some of the people wide to create the clouds. So if you're doing this for the first time, it can be a bit tricky. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. You just need two colors for this guy. I'll be using two colors, blue and green screen is rough, turquoise, blue, you can use any other blue, doesn't really need to be to course blog, you can use Prussian blue, cobalt blue, cerulean blue, or any other blue. Then to add the clouds, the shadow of the Cloud to need paint scree. If you don't have Payne's gray, you can go with a lighter tone of black. Now, I'm going to switch to my size number eight round brush. For this exercise, I'm going to use my round brush, this one as pi, silver black velvet brush. First I'm going to start with paint gray. I'm going with a medium tool. You can use any of your medium-sized brush. Loaded my brush with a medium tone of paint gray. The first step is to apply the shadow of the clouds. Now we're going to drop this Payne's gray onto the speed. Remember your background is, but now onto this vent background, I'm adding Payne's gray in a particular pattern. You can see that right now. I'm just dropping that onto the background. I'm adding another pattern on the right. Now, when we ever learned one on the top, what I'm adding right now is the shadow of the clouds. This may not make any sense right now, but once I add in the blue, you will get to see how the shape of the clouds are getting defined. I wash all the paint from my brush. Now, I'm switching to turquoise blue. Again going with a medium tone. I'm using the same brush. Now. I'm going to add blue, leaving some byte IDA and between. This is going to be my clouds. You need to read in that people wide. So take your brush and a cloudy pattern. You need to leave that by CAP in between. Now again, run your brush around that creep pattern you applied. Just follow the same pattern. Now, again, do the same for those two ones on the bottom. So you are the ones who are define the shape of the clouds. You can add it. How will you want to, if you want to go with more or less ice clouds, you need to go with smaller grid pattern at the beginning. Then you can decide on how much people, why do you want to retain? Depending on the size of the crowd you want? Okay. So you're the one who's defining the size of a cloud and the shape of your Cloud. So here I made three big fluffy clouds. If you want to go with a more linear pattern, you could do that. You just need to start off by adding gray in a linear manner. But feel free to go with voter intuition of saying it is absolutely okay not to add it. I'm going to show that again so that the underside of the day you wanted to or not. Okay. Them are from the branch in hand. So I'll be applying an intention of blue onto the top and order the bottom first, I will add a lighter tone, afraid. I'll be making the color lighter there those two colors are meeting. So over to the middle, I'll have a very light color, which is more close to white. People white. Now I'm going to clean my brush. Saw corner similarly, add more blue and when you're coming down, make it lighter. Then go with a lighter tone off chromosome or carmine or which already are using and take that towards the top. And then these two colors are meeting or what that junction you can make the color lighter again. Then on top of that you can go with a darker tone and add in some random lines. Okay, so that is our sky. Now let's wait for that to dry. So I was Claire has completely dried and says How are just looking. Now, I'm going with my size number 4, round brush. I'm going black watercolor. And I'm going to add a tree, a dried tree to some bare branches without any leaves. I will add the main tree trunk and some brand is using my brush. Now simply run that clean brush on top of this lines and make it a bit smoother. We can see how gorgeous those messy lines are looking right now. You just need to simply run a damped, clean brush on top of those lines. Now, there might be some blue on your pressure. As you took your brush towards the top, you're going to add some line to seem blue onto the islet. Just randomly add in some lines. You can just make use of the pain you have already on your brush. You don't need to load your brush with new color. When you're adding your color, make sure you're not filling up their entail whitespace, you haven't the background. Now I'm calling with wireless and adding a bit onto the bottom. I don't want my background to be too light because if it's too light, the whiteboard wouldn't stand out. So this is how I was sky is looking. Now if you want, you can add more darker tones onto the sky. You can go with a darker tone of blue or violet and add more lines to make it look more dramatic. I hope the basic idea is clear. You'll simply need to add some lines onto your wet background, leaving some white gaps in between no matter which color you're using. Then you can come back with your second color and add in some more lines onto that background. Again, make sure not to cover up that divide spaces you have in the background. You need to retain them. Those people biters. What makes your sky look more dramatic and beautiful? Now I'm calling with an indent on a wireless and adding some lines in between. Just a fuel. You need to be adding your lines wider back on but still wet. So don't be too too long. Okay. So that is my sky. Now, let's wait for this to dry. I'm pretty happy with the way this has turned out. Look at that courageous guy. So pretty right? Now, I'm switching to my white gouache brush and I'm going to squeeze out of it. It's time to add the boats. You can add some hanging branches from the top and add some leaves on to that. So please feel free to go with any composition that you want to follow for your painting. As I always say, you don't need to restrict your imagination to the PDL that I'm doing here. You can go with your intuitions and organical, with your imagination. Santiago, the technique you can call it any color combination and any composition that you want to fulfill your painting. Okay, now let me quickly finish. All right, so that is a bunch of trace. Now I'm switching to my pen and I'm going to add some teeny tiny branches onto this. The second last minute details of a lot, a lot of character to your painting. Permanent towel, permanent dread, and pulmonary, yellow, orange. You can go with any brown, red and yellow or yellowish orange. We just need some red, orange and yellow tones in the sky. So I'm going with a medium to intense tone of orange and adding bat or with a partner. Can't see this color. It's a gorgeous yellowish orange. Now, you can add some in-between. I'm leaving some cab and then adding some yellowish orange orbital middle. You can see I'm simply adding some of the clients of yellowish orange by leaving some caps in between. Now I'm switching to permanent red. Adding that onto these camps. Make sure not to cover up that Antonio, yellowish orange, you haven't the background. It is more like a high density of these two colors. We want both the colors on our sky. You can go with any kind of order or any kind of pattern. It doesn't really need to be like this. Now, I'm switching to permanent drown, going with them. Taco tone. And I'm adding that onto the sky again and going in a very random manner. And I'm adding some lines in between. When you're adding your brown, just make sure you still have that yellow and red in your background. Don't cover them up. You can see how pretty your sky is looking when we added that brown tool. So we chose the lighter tone, a medium tone, and a darker tone. And we are playing with three colors. The technique is more or less similar to what we did yesterday using wireless and Buhl. This time we're dealing with much more Tikal lines. And we have three colors 2D. Now, if you want to add more taco tones of brown or red, you can add that while you're back on this rubric. Make use of the time. Don't wait for too long. Ad in your darker dawns variable you want, but make sure you're not covering up those yellow and red you have in the background. We want to see all the three colors on our sky. So be careful when you're adding in your clothes. Okay. I think we are done. Now let's try to dry. If you hadn't noticed. I didn't wash my impression between from pulmonary law orange, I directly switch to red and from there I directly switch to problem without washing my brush. Because these colors are quite friendly with each other and they don't create a muddy mix. They go very well together and that is a recent why I didn't wash my brush. Okay. I was clay has completely dried. You can see those called just color. I'm very happy with the sky. Now it's time to add a mountain. For the mountain will be using brown, a bit of red and black. And it will be creating that clue where the sunlight is hitting. So let me squeeze out some more onto my palette. I might need a bit more to add emotion and add the boards. I'm going to use the same brush and I'm switching to black brush. You get either use black gouache or black watercolor. And make sure to go with the brush which has a pointed tip. Or it can go with your black pen. Because the bolt we're going to add two, they are not too big. They are smaller and medium-sized boat. So to get the proportion right, you will either have to use a brush which has a pointed tip, or you'll have to use your pen to get them right. Okay, So choose what is best suited for you. Now let me show you the board said we're going to add today, we are going back to first exercise fit the M and a Wii books. I'm not going to go with this detail ones. I'll be going with the basic quantity did at the beginning. Those MMP sheeps. And onto that we added an oval shape over the middle. So that is a boy. So I'm going to add today, I'll be adding a bigger group as I said earlier. So I'm going to start with the first one. You can either follow the same type and the same pattern that I'm trying cure. In a similar manner. I'm going to add plenty of water onto my sky. This is going to be the biggest size I'll be adding. The rest of them will be much more smaller to this. I'll be adding them in a very random manner. I'm not looking at any reference photograph or I don't have any particular pattern in my mind. I'm going to make it as random as possible. So Ireland, the basic shape first, it can be a m or a with the wings can be close to each other or they can be wide open. Or your bird can be gliding. It can be gliding towards the left or the right. Now using all kind of variety, create a beautiful group of ports. Play with different sizes and different kind of flying for shoes. Don't make all of them look similar. So this is how our painting has turned out. I think I will add one more board or shell and medium-sized for you don't need to stop it shall you can add more particular one. Maybe you can add another cluster of some tiny boats in the background, but just much more smaller than the ones we have on the left. So that will create a much more depth in your painting. So that is totally up to you. If you want to add more, feel free to do that. I'm going to start with sure. I'm quite convinced with this guy, the mountain and the boards. I'm not going to work on it anymore. My paintings yet to drive, but I'll carefully remove the masking tape. But please don't rush like me, wait for your painting to dry completely. Otherwise, you may end up spoiling your Bordeaux. And the people may report along with your masking tape. So be careful while you're moving your masking tape. Please don't be like me. You get either go Good evening, yellow or orange, yellow or yellow ocher, or even a lighter tone of orange will also work. Now for the mountain, along with the same color, I'll be using a bit of brown and black. And finally, for the bird, instead of a brush, I'll be using my pen because Titus more convenient as the size of the boats are quite small. Okay. Let's start. 37. Project: Hello, hello. Glad to see you here. I'm going to quickly fix my people to distributors. Going to be really simple. The sky is really simple and the mountain that centered glue, you already know how to create that. So that is also really simple for you guys. Then the board, that is also really simple because you guys have tried it quite a lot. And I really hope you guys were able to follow and you're already equipped with your birds. The birds are going to be really tiny, so I'll be using my pen intraocular pressure. As I said earlier, you can choose to use your detailing brush or a pen. All right. I fixed my people. You guys already know the color that I'm going to use for the sky. As I said, we'll just need one single color for the sky. And that is permanent yellow, orange. You get either use yellow ocher or you can create your own yellowish orange by mixing a bit of orange to yellow, yellow. So you can either use a yellow or orange, yellowish orange just by mixing those two colors. Okay, so that is all about the color for the sky. Now, I'm going to apply a clean cold water onto the entail people switching to my washcloth. Applying a cleaning even coat of water. You can use any of your bigger size flat brush or your dorm Krish. Just run your brush multiple times and make sure the water has reached everywhere. Okay. To be in the sky, I'm going to use my drawn Krish, this one as isnumber agent on-prem. You can either use your flat brush or your dorm Krish. Both of them will work fine. Now I'm going with a lighter tone of our formula, yellow, orange. So I have a lighter tone of yellowish orange on my brush. Now, I'm going to start from the bottom. We need to read it a little off they provide so all you'll have to leave that area then start adding our paint. Let's take a look how I'm doing it. My background is spread and I like to tune, leaving some idea or the bottom, you can see the color event in, but it's a very light tone now as fitting to an Indian story of the same color. And I'm applying that on the top of my people and I'm taking it down, bring it down to that lighter tone you have applied over the bottom and blended with that. You can add in some more Indian sort of orange if you want, as your background is stupid, but you'll have to leave that bottom area, acetone. We want that light to, to alter that people, right? We'd have to read in that. Now I'm going with a clean, damp brush. I just wash the paint off from my brush and my brush is clean. And I'm just running my brush over the bottom right where I apply that lighter tone to give it a smarter look. That's it. Now let's wait for our sky too dry or show we'll be adding a little mountain. That is the next step. So this is the only color I used for this guy. As I said, you can either go with the yellow ocher or you can create your own yellowish orange if you don't have one. So here to serve our sky, everything has completely dried. You can see that pretty yellowish orange sky. We just added a gradient wash of color. Now it's time to add the mountain. For that, I'm switching to my smaller size, strong push. This one is size number 4, round brush by Princeton. The same brush I use for the birds. I'll clean it properly. So all of this area where we had added a lighter tone of yellowish orange, that area, they're going to make it look like the sunlight is hitting on the mountain. Okay. So I'm going with a medium tone of yellow, orange. And I'm going to start with that video first. Go with a medium to light to turn off orange and adding your mountain line. So this is where we're going to create that some kissed with it. Now I'm switching to Brown and cylinder restaurant brown. We need to say that y two tone in the background. So if you haven't left a lot, maybe you will have to bring down your mountain to get that effect. So here you can see I'm adding my glue on the right side because that is where I have left out white area. On the left, I didn't leave much. So I'm going to the brown mountain over there. Okay. Now you can switch to black and add in some deeper tones on either side, just like how we did yesterday. My baby just woke up and I had to leave on painting in-between. Looks like the mountain has dried. Never mind. After I add the black, I've embed that ear again using some brown and orange so that the colors will blend into each other. I suppose your background is still wet and you will be able to blend those colors easily into each other. So I switched to brown. Now I'm blending that with the black. Now I'm switching back to orange and adding that to blending that the brown and green with one more round of being just because my mountain dried. I suppose your mountain is still wet, so you just need to simply pull in some brown and black on either side. You don't need to add another layer on top of the mountain. Okay? So this is horrible opera mountainous looking right now and let's wait for that to dry. Okay? Our mountain has dried now, I'm switching to my plan. I'm going to add my port. You all know how to add the sport. You will have to either add a straight line on an inclined line. Then from the middle of that line, you will need to add your wings. You can add a wing facing upward or downward. So that's my first board. Now I'm going to add the second one, adding an inclined line. Now from the center of that line, I'm adding another inclined line with a thickness, which is the wing. Now let's take a closer look at the boards we have added here. You can see they are looking okay. But if you add a little more detail onto the wing, it will look a lot more realistic so that you can clearly see the difference between these two words here. So this is the, we will be adding the wings onto these bullets. Will make it a bit more bigger by adding some more thickness over the bottom. A very simple change to the same board we were adding millennia. But you can see the impact that has made. This is the body we're adding earlier. We were simply adding more triangular kind of a shape onto a decline. But for this one, we put a little more effort on the body of the bird and also on the wing. This is the same way I'll be adding the rest of the birds. Now, I'm going with the third one. I really hope the ideal as clear. If you're confused, maybe you can try it on a scrap piece of paper. Then once you're confident enough, you can add them onto your painting. And as I say, every day if they're using a brush, make sure to go The Press recess appointed tip. Otherwise you won't be able to get those teeny tiny details. So keep that in mind. I have added my third bird. For this one, I showed Bordeaux wings. So please, different kind of flying posters for your books. This will bring in a lot of character to your painting. It will automatically make your painting look more realistic and interesting. There was another thing I want to see. Don't experiment if you're not too sure about how to add a particular kind of book. If you're not feeling confident, try to on a scrap piece of paper first. Because if there are 10 bought new sky and if you've got nine tried and one wrong, that gets filed, the antonio painting. So you will have to be very careful when adding. Each of you will have to put the same effort for all of them. This is the main reason why I always add the wings to the top. And also I add my bullets flying onto the left because that just weren't are more comfortable would and I'm sure that I won't make a mistake, but I may make some mistake, but the channel is already less. So Yang go the flying for sure which you're more comfortable with. You don't need to experimentally or painting. You can go to the same kind of burn. Maybe you can just play with the wing. Some of them can be close to each other and some of them can be wide open. Just by playing with that angle between the wings, you can create different kinds of books. So I gathered all my confidence and added a board with a wink facing down. Luckily it came out. Okay. So far I have added six boards and I think I have gone with all kinds of varieties which I'm comfortable, but now I'm going to play with the same kind of books and I'm going to add some more onto this guy. You can add in as many as you want. There is no limit. You can fill the end ojos cry with plenty of books. Or we can go in a similar manner. I'll be just taking it to the other end. You can see the way I'm adding the board. I started with the head. Then I added the body of the bird showing that belly, that tail, and everything. Then onto that I added a wing. If you right now let me quickly add some more birds and finish up the painting. And that's it. We're done. You can see those gorgeous, but you can add as many as you want. As I said earlier. It's a very simple painting. We went in with a very limited color palette. B was just one single color for the sky and for the mountain. Along with permanent yellow, orange, we added a bit darker, brown and black and type looser for the boards. We used trouble print. Shorter so closer look, you can see how gorgeous those boards are looking and even that glow on the mountain. Maybe you can try making that area a bit more lighter to bring in that effect a lot more. And here's the predictor. We're gonna do a tree does what is going to be really quick, easy, minimalist, and beautiful as well. You can see it here. Now these are the colors that I'm going to use. Payne's gray and permanent trade. You can either go with the same color, Oregon cool, with any other color composition, and follow the technique that I'm using q. Okay? Now, without wasting any more time, Let's get onto the predict. 39. Project: I have my paper ready here. I'm going to quickly fix my paper onto this board. We are on day 14 today, and this is going to be the last project of this class. Tomorrow we'll do a wrap-up session where we will have a look through all the meanings we did so far. And also all the exercises. Along with that, we'll also talk about your next steps, how you can make use of the BOT-2 learned in this class in your future paintings. I'll also give you some examples and some reference photograph. So it's going to be more likely to chat rather than an exercise or a painting session. Okay. I have fixed my people. Now let me show you the colors that I'm going to use. So here are two colors I'll be using for this guy, permanent trade and paints gray. I'll be doing a simple gradient wash of these colors. For the top, I'll be going with permanent rate and, or to the bottom, I'll be adding a bit of Payne's gray. And then onto this guy, I will be adding few streaks off create to make it more interesting. So I'm going to start by applying clean coat of water. It's a very simple sky. There is no much techniques and bartenders, I have applied a clean cold water. You can see that shiny coat of water on the entire people. Now I'm switching to my flat brush and I'm calling it an intense tone of red. You can use any of the red area of God. If you don't have a red, you can use 1 million or scarlet. That also will walk. You can't see that dry trade. I'm applying this almost three-fourths of the people. I'm going to take it a bit more down. Then after that, I will switch to paint gray to beautiful red. I think now it's time to switch to paint green. The soonest from Sennelier. And adding that, I didn't wash my brush, I directly went in the paint scree and that is why I have a reddish tone to her. You can do the same tool. You don't really need to wash your brush. You can go with that reddish gray. But this is just a person retires. If you would like to have that pure gray tone on your sky, you can wash them to read from your brush and go with a clean paints gray, and then blend that with your rate. Now, I'm going to add some lines to agree on to the sky. So I'm dabbing my brush on a paper towel just to make sure that the paint is not too watery. And I'm randomly adding some lines a little above where these two colors are meeting. I'm not adding a lot on the top. The top I will leave as a plane trade. Just over the middle, I add a few lines and that's it. That is the sky. You can see the painted this guy in less than three minutes. It's a very gorgeous and intense color composition and it came out to occur. Now let's wait for this to dry. And here are supposed, evidencing has completely dried. You can't see the colors very rapid, but that's okay. I'm still convinced about the intensity of the close. Now I'm going to switch to my size number 4, round brush. And I'm going to add a tree, just some simple empty branches. Over the bottom, I will have a main tree trunk which is going to be a little thick. Then onto that I will be adding some empty branches. I'm starting with the branch. So this one is going to be very thin on the top. And as I come down, I'll be making the code. This is going to be a very simple minimalist tree. I'm not going to add a lot of branches and leaves. So that is the first branch. The beauty of this painting license men of medicine. And I'm very clear what I want. So I'm not going to add a lot of details onto it. Okay. I have added that tall branch. Now, I'm adding the tree trunk. You can see the true jungles much stucco. Now under this I will add one or two branches. And along with the branches, you can also add some tiny projections, which are again branches but then are going to show the anterior branch, just a teeny tiny line popping out from that tree trunk. This would make your tree look more realistic. Now I'm going to add my second branch. This one, I wouldn't be taking it too high. I think I will stop it here. That looks nice. Now onto this one, I'm going to add in a few more tiny branches, maybe two or three. But again, in a very minimalist manner, I'm not going to add in too many lines. I'm not going to make it look to see I wanted as minimalist as possible. Maybe that tree trunk can be a bit multicore. Just adding thickness onto the right side. And I'm going to add a little projection on the top. Now it looks better right? Now, I'm going to add another branch on the left side, starting from the tip of that branch. And I'm going to take it down. And I say come down, I'll be making it thicker just like the first one. You get added nutrients. How will you want to, if you want to add in more branches and make it look busy and go for it. No problem. Now onto this, I'm going to add one or two branches. And that's it. We are done with our tree. Now the only stubborn meaning is to add a board. You have already seen the class project in the previous section. So you all know we're going to add one single board onto the tree. And for that, I'm going to use my pen instead of my brush. I think I'd be more comfortable with my pen then the brush. So officially to go with what you feel more comfortable with, you can go with your pen or your detailing fresh. Both of the Milwaukee mode is really simple. If a carefully follow the steps one by one. Okay, Let's start with the head of a just a teeny tiny circle. Using my pen, I'm going to add a tiny circle, and I'm going to fill that in black. We have the head. Now after this, I'm going to add a beak. Just take a line and adaptation minus. So we have the head and a beak of the bowl. Now we'll need to add the body. For that. I'm going to add a oval shape. And again, I'm going to fill that in black. Starting from the head, you need to add up over the kind of machine. You can see the size, I'm going good. The head has to be small and the will has to be big. Otherwise you won't get that proportion. You can see the kind of sizes I went and good. Now from here, I'm going to add the tail. I'm adding a triangular kind of a shape. But over the bottom instead of a straight line, I'm adding the curvy line and filling that in black and that you can see our colleges boat there. All right, and the dad, we're done with the whole painting for default king. So these other two colors are used to permanent dread and plains Cree. You can use any other color combination that you prefer. This guy is quite easy. You just need to apply a gradient wash off to close and attitude lines using that second darker color. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out. It was really simple and beautiful. And I'm quite surprised we managed to finish this in less than seven minutes. And yours, the finished painting. I cannot believe we are wrapping up this course today. To me, it was an incredible experience teaching you how to do all these paintings hill. So we did 14 paintings. I'll show you few of my favorites. I really love how this one turned out, especially that sunlight claw. And this one too, because basis of my favorites, the popup color made it a lot most turning. And this one, this is one of my most favorite bird. And you tried to seem bored and a white color and created this beautiful painting. For these two paintings event in the typical sized poor. We tried a medium-size of the same board and added them onto this painting. Then we made even more smaller and added that onto this painting here. We created a bigger group of smaller, but we also did the sunlight flow. And for this painting until we created that sunlight clue on the mountain as well as on the port. We added the board and orange, and then onto that we added some brown tones to bring in that sunlight glue. The same board we added in black. That is what you see on the right. So altogether, it was a wonderful experience exploring different type of color combination, different type of port, and how we can add them onto your painting. I really enjoy teaching all of these. I hope you guys enjoyed it too. And I really hope you guys are feeling at least 1% confident than before. If he is, then my class, I've done its job. Let's take a quick look through the exercises pitted. We started off with a warm-up exercise where we explored different type of boards using the sheep M and V. And then we took a man we individually and had the same exercise. We created different types of M and we explored how we can change them into boats. And it did the same exercise using week. We discussed how you can create different types of foods just by changing the angle and changing the orientation of the wings from their big gradually started exploring more detailed books. This was one of the brilliant exercises we did in this course. We learned how can draw these beaker and beetle boards. And also we had a look at some paintings where we use them as a prominent element. Then from there, we went to this one. We tried these teeny tiny birds, which can be done quite easily. We added quite a lot of them onto this faint and kill. Those big group of birds automatically added a lot of beauty to this beach sunset. Then you tried another interesting get a beautiful bird, which can also be used as prominent element in your painting. We tried this painting using the same port. We just added two of them and you can see the impact of those boards on the sky. Then you try the same bowl using white color. So we did an extensive exercise on drawing different kinds of birds and we added them onto different painting each and every day. In a similar manner, you can find out your own color combination, urine composition, and add boats onto your sky. Play with different sizes, different orientations, and different plane postures. As I said at the beginning, keep practicing your board. You can create a pocket sketchbook for yourself and add all the kind of broad to land onto that. And just see for yourself which other one too you're more comfortable with. And you can keep on adding them onto your painting. This week won't be confused or you won't be feeling scared. Value add them onto your painting. On the other side, you can keep practicing the ones which you are not comfortable with and keep on making them better. Learning something is a never ending process and there is a lot you can learn. Keep exploring and experimenting from your side. You can go to Pinterest or Google or Unsplash and just type in birds flying are so loud or bolt or something like that. And you will get to see a lot and lot of varieties of bullets which you can use on your painting. So here I typed in birds flying. You will get to see thousands of images for different kinds of birds. The exercises we did in this course is going to be the foundation for your future. You can see all little different varieties of goods here. Just like we did in the exercise and the painting, you just need to concentrate on the head, the body of the bird, and the wings. You can see that beautiful pattern in which these boards are flying. It's like an inverted V. And if you look at this boat here, it is almost similar to this exercise. You already know how to create that sunlight close so you can combine that and these kind of boats and create a beautiful painting. Similarly, you will find endless possibilities and endless inspiration from reference photograph. So whenever you have a free time or whenever you're going to an unblock boat again towards two can have a look at some reference images and try to recreate those boards. And this photograph we can see the bird is having to close the same board. We haven't the background. You can try it in a similar way using black and white. Here's another one in gray and white. The scandal to be done. Here is underwater. The body of the bird is, and why. Underside of the wings are in black and you have a white thin outline to it. Your assignment a one. So there are so many possibilities which you can explore using the same bullets we learned in this course. Have a look at some reference photograph and try to A3 boards in different colors or different size and different orientation. Even if you're not feeling confident or even if you're feeling, it may not turn drives. Never mind, Just give it a try. When you observe something by your seller fan.
