1. Class 1 Intro to the course: Hey friends, welcome to this course on
leadership framework. In this course, I will share the four-point leadership
framework with you. The four-point leadership
framework has been derived from a blog post in Harvard Business
Review in 2001. This blog post has been written, but people have climbed
Mount Everest. Though. During this expedition, many
people were successful, but some of them
lost their life. In that block push. These climbers have
written allowed their expedition Jeremy
and the leadership during this journey. Whether you are an
entrepreneur working in a company or want
to start a business. Leadership is an
important skill for you. Because in a business, a group of people work toward meeting a goal under the
guidance of a leader. This course is very
important to watch. This 30 min of your
life will prove wonders and will help you
make successful in your job, business, or any other career. In this course, we will learn the first point why
leadership is important. The second point is the
four-point leadership framework. And the third point,
we will cover the most critical
competency of a leader. And the four-point
we will cover how to identify a leader during
the hiring process. Let's meet you guys in the class two of this
course. Thank you.
2. Class 2 Why Leadership is important case study Narendra modi: Welcome to the class. One of this course, via leadership is important. Let us understand the importance of leadership using
some examples. E.g. Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime
Minister of India. During corona pandemic, Mr. Narendra Modi hedges zone, a different type of leadership. He has made sure that the country does not
go into depression. He had encouraged various
activities during the pandemic, like beating the
plates while standing your balcony and showing your gratitude towards
coronavirus various. This hedges spread awareness and positivity throughout the
country, during this pandemic. This is one of the
outcome of leadership. That is, effective leadership is the one that makes
all the people in a company work towards
the single goal of the company and stood off working on their
individual goals. Thank you guys. See you in the class
two of this course.
3. Class 3 Leadership example Steve Jobs: Welcome guys. In class two
of the leadership course, we can learn from extreme job. If that leadership
is about having a vision and articulating
that vision, there should be a
common understanding of the vision among the employees. This concept of having a common
vision is very important. He made people do what
they wanted to do, and also felt that
a great manager is one who is an
individual contributor. A leader should be contributing
towards the change. And this was the
most effective way to motivate the employees, to foster and
innovative culture. The Macintosh Prozac
shows how effectively a taskforce can innovate
when giving it freedom. And also explained the importance
of recognizing people. Then it is up to the
management and leadership. It is very important to have a talented pool of people
and not lose them. One of the reason he was
brought back in 1997 was not because he was the
best manager or programmer, but because he was a symbol of innovation in a culture that had lost its
innovation in time. Steve Jobs was a symbol just for the consumer or
the shareholder, but the worker within Apple. And that is a learning
lesson that the symbol or a hero in a company
safety culture and Dr. Says tore towards innovation
or away from innovation. With the right kind of leadership
and leadership skills. Nothing is impossible. With good leadership. You can create a VM and can motivate people to
make it a reality. A good leader can
inspire everyone in an organization to
achieve their very best. Human capital is the
differentiator in this knowledge-based
economy that we live today. Leadership needs to
attract is by an ultimately retain as
much talent as possible. If you inspire people. If you can create the
right conditions, you can get much more out of
people and achieve wonders. This is the code
for the Steve Jobs. From the Steve Jobs. So we can learn
leadership lessons from all these great people. Either entrepreneur
like Steve Jobs or politicians like
Mr. Narendra Modi, Barack Obama, many other.
4. Class 4 4P Leadership Framework #1: So let's welcome you guys. In the class three of
little fibrillation, the four-point
leadership framework. The first one is leader, should be led by
the groups need. Sometime the designation of a
leader gets into their head and they start
thinking that whatever they are saying or
doing is correct. The thing that the method
or direction they thrashed, if correct, and the entire
company should follow it. However, this is not
right thing to do. A good leader is the
one who understand the needs of the group and
take action accordingly. It doesn't mean that
you follow a democracy. That is, you make all the
member of the group the leader. But you are the only
leader of the group. You need to take
the consensus of the group and then take action based on the
need of the group. E.g. climbing Mount
Everest is not easy. Many people have lost their
life while climbing it. You can climb the Mount
Everest successfully. Only when every
member of your group takes the pre decided steps
and follow the leader. The leader of this
group needs to take care of the needs of each
member of the group. If someone falls sick, a leader needs to take
care of him and decide whether he or she
should continue the expedition or
should we send back. A leader needs to
take all the members together to make their
expeditions successful. So let me do wave in the
next video of this course. And we will learn
the lesson number two in the leadership framework. Thank you.
5. Class 5 4P Leadership Framework #2: So welcome. Anyways,
in this course, this is class number four, where we will learn
second, leadership skill. Interactions can be
difficult sometime. Nowadays, there is a
trend that companies promote and reward people
who take X and aggressively. However, it is not necessary that these people are
also effective leader. Top companies like Google, General Electric, Facebook,
YouTube, Microsoft, etc, are successful
today because of their leaders who have extensive experience
of 20 to 40 years. So the leaders who have
a strong foundation and ability to build future strategies can reduce
the risk in business. There is the less likely chances of their division going wrong. Such leaders create
a perfect balance between inaction and excellent. So you should promote such leaders who can
make this balance, e.g. while climbing Mount Everest. If you think you can
go ahead of your group alone and climb the
mountain in three days, then you will neither be
able to reach the mountain, not be able to come back. The same thing may
happen in your company. If someone joins
your company and become a star performer soon, then it is not necessary that they are the most
effective leaders. They might be good at execution, or they might work hard
initially and then get tired. You need a consistent of Homer for the
position of a leader. So let's meet you guys in
the leadership framework. Three in the next
video of this course. Thank you.
6. Class 6 4P Leadership framework #3 1: Welcome guys. In the
leadership framework, three, if your words don't
take, you haven't. Spoken. Communication is the most
important skill of a leader. If you have a spoken something and your team have ignored it, that you are not a good leader. You are just a leader only by your title or designation in the complete naught
via directions. If people are not
listening to you, then they will not
take any action. So as a leader, you should
communicate very strongly. If you are the owner
of a business, you should make sure that
once or twice in a week, you should communicate with your complete leadership team. Otherwise, a big
communication gap will arrive between you and
your leadership team. And soon you will lose your
position as the leader. Thus, it is important
to communicate, inspire, and motivate your team. Your communication
should be very clear so that people get inspired by you and want to work with you. You can make people do X and
only through your words. This is the difference between a leader of verbs and
a leader of actions. People follow leader
with actions. Remember guys, this leadership
framework in your life. Thank you. See you soon in the next
layer of the framework.
7. Class 7 4P Leadership framework #4 1: Welcome guys. In the
next literacy framework, leading up what might seem
wrong when it is light. Sometime middle managers do
not report challenges and loopholes either to save their job or they think that
the issue is not very big. But it is not very
critical to report these. It is very critical. Leadership is not a designation. It is a skill,
attitude, and aptitude. Even if you are at a junior position in
a company and you've figured out something which should be reported
for the better, then you should approach
the management. And your manager, you should not care
about your hierarchy. You need to make the
hierarchy of your company in a way that if a
junior employee or a med management employee wants to keep an
important thought than he or she can communicate
it to the top hierarchy. It is important to
create this culture. This structure is
called a hierarchy, less structured, more
leadership driven a structure. You should also
create such a culture in your company so
that communication can flow in your company and is not restricted because
of hierarchy issues. So your company should be
open, but leadership driven. I hope people you like
this leadership framework. And let's meet you in the
next class of this course. Thank you.
8. Class 8 most critical competency of a leader 1: In this class, we will discuss the most critical competency for being a leader is ownership. Ownership means that the
employee takes ownership of the complete present along
with his or her own work. In case there are some gaps or something is
not working in the project, then the leader
will fill the gaps by helping his or her colleague. Or second, informing
the senior management about the gap and the
reason behind it the gap, and asking them to
fill the gap so that the project can be
completed seamlessly. Leaders must lead by
example and shouldn't be motivated and competent
both at the same time. This is very important
skill for a leader. Thank you. Let's meet you in the next
class of this course.
9. Class 9 How to identify a leader during the hiring process : So in this class, we will learn while hiding a person at a
leadership position. Usual, first, big hedge
or her skill test. Now, the second
thing gave his or her ownership test by giving him some critical situations, e.g. you can give him some critical
situations to work in the first three months and check whether he or she can do
end-to-end work or not. If he or she had successfully
completed the task, then you can hire him or her
as a full-time employee. This is the perfect execution
for hiring a leader. Companies do vary of mistakes
while hiding a leader. They hire leaders
at a higher cost. And after a few months, they realize that the leader
is not good for the company. Now, they think that if
they hire a new leader, then it will involve
more cost and time. To avoid such problems. You should check a leader on the four-point
leadership framework and the owner FAPE competency of the leader discussed
in this course, you should orient
your HR department in a manner that they can judge the leadership at their
end while hiring by giving them critical
situations and check how they come out of them. If you are mid-sized company and now you are becoming
a large company, that you are moving 100-200 employees to
502,000 employees, then it is better
that you choose leaders from your
existing employees because they are with the
company for a long while. They have seen the company grow. They know the culture
of the company. They have seen the good, as well as the bedtime
of the company. It is better if you get leaders from your
existing employees. Otherwise, you can hire
leaders externally as well. But your first focus, should we hire and
promote internal leader? Few key learning
from this course. The first one, make
a proper channel to effectively communicate
with every employee. Second, always lead your team by actions rather than words. The third one is, don't be afraid to take the tough decisions
when required. So thank you guys for
watching this course, for enrolling in this
valuable course. I hope you have enjoyed and learned a lot from
your valuable time. Thank you again. By enrolling in this course, you will get a lot of old on
different business topic, on leadership, on
technology, on hiring, and various aspects
of a business, and the personnel management. Thank you.
