1. Introduction: Hi friends. My name is Ala and welcome again to my new Skillshare class. Today we will talk about ink October. As far as it is, October outside, I decided to go with and October challenge. And I decided to create a specific class for you that eta will be only in ink. The ink October Challenge started in 2016, and it is a great opportunity and the challenge that many artists participate, there is a prompt list that you can participate with these prompt lists every day or on the day that you like the most. But I decided to create it more specifically because I thought that there are specific to work with ink and as well with a specific technique that I will use, dot technique for hatching and not line hatching. The class will start, uh, usually with the supplies that we will need to affix class. Then the other video will be about the job showing how we create the composition and we will create so beautiful coefficients. I will take care of the ink and the Yang. I really love the Japanese beings and Japanese style. So that is the reason that I decided to go with coefficients. On the next video, I will start with the lining up with the Micron pens and then we will work on dot hatching. You will see that delta-hedging. It is taking a longer time, but it is super, super easy. So you will enjoy it. See you in the class.
2. Supplies we need for the class: Dear friends, but today's class we will need watercolor paper to a 100 GSM weight. Or if you want to take a sketch book paper. But I advice you took, take the curve paper like with higher weight. Because if not, you want to get to good work. And I will, we will need a graphic pencil. I will use an HB and a kneadable eraser. If you don't have an integral eraser, use whatever of the results you have. Then if you have all the collection of microbes, it is up to disagreed because we will need for today's class micro number 10, the Pigma Brush and microbes in the archival ink. If you don't have any of those, there are micro number 10 can be changed by micro number 8, Pigma brush, you can use the same micro number eight, but you will need to color more. If you want to take some charcoal or any other thing that, or even the watercolors to paint in black and micron archival ink pen. If you want, you can take number one or number two micro number one or number two. It will work more or less in the same way. Okay, So I think they secede that we can start now.
3. Creating the composition, step by step guidance: First step in doing the drawing global create the composition itself. I would like to create the composition in an oval form. And that it created this kind of feeling of anyon. We drew a circle. Very important that even you can, that you are not creating two thick lines. So you'll leave the lions more or less thinner. Because later we will erase these lines that are guiding us. And we'll have these two coefficients. And if as far as you see, the oval is not store it and neither circle, because we will create a here to coy fish. And one will be over here. And another one will be over here. And the circle itself. We will create this circle. And here you have another circle. And as far as you see at the body's already more or less like this. We can add just these exterior line and create a proper form to one another. Here are the same. The circle is, is circled. This way, the body of the second fish. And if considered here we have the beautiful part of the fish. And here we are going a little bit outside. Don't worry. If some of the lines that amount exactly like. Stay creative and draw your fish. Let's do over here. The signs of the fish. This fish. And here the part on the back end, more or less of the bodies of these fissures. Now, let's make some details and then we can go straight away with pain with gel pen or whatever you want. So here we have the and some details over here. And what they wanted to specify over here is that over here we have darker shades and we can draw those now. But we will follow more of these one. So we have, we will be doing this work with the pen over here. Let's make the same. More details. Here. Darker color will be here. Bu Shi. So more or less our work is to 100. We can start now with working with append. Now.
4. Outlining the work with micron archival ink pen: For the outline, I will work with the num migrant number 10. If you hint, don't have number 10, you can take number eight. It will go as well. Well, why I'm choosing this number is because I want that the lines to be really, really thick and that we can see the boldness. First step over here, we outlined everything we have drawn previously. In this case, we are not doing the head general. We will work with a specific technique. In this way, we will create the sheets and form and you will see how it looks. This tip, I would say it's the easiest one because we already outlined what we have drawn. And there is nothing to say, we are not practicing nothing new. Then once we will work on the Shelling's, you'll see how beautiful is to create different shadings with dots and to not do it. Hatching. Now I will take a smaller size of the Micron. As we will work on the fish scales. I think that I will take a chiral ink. It is a good sign. And I will go over here. So I will more with details here. And here we go. If you are not practicing and download chink, what you can do is make this video to go faster. In this way, you're not watching each scale that it is drawn. If you are working with me, then if you feel that I'm going too fast, stamp whatever you need and proceed. If you are watching my videos may previous videos, you've probably noticed that I've referred to erase everything before we start going with watercolors or any other media. But here you see that I'm leaving all the lines till the last moment. The thing is that the beauty of working with microns bands is that those, so once I will use an eraser once much and it will create a beautiful effect and it really doesn't matter. So erase everything that the beginning, you can come up later at anytime injuries. And they think that the beauty of working with ink is that you can leave everything you have jaw and then come up later and do this work. I'm sure that you have seen scales or for the fish, how those go and grow. There is no need that I explained this. Very important, that you are not afraid of not doing something really perfect. Because nothing in the world is perfect. Look for an interesting way to represent the scales. Those are coming up smaller. The first one is town. Now we have this one. You can make those circled. And it, these two smaller here. And it took me more time. Now I'm practiced and it will take less time for me to draw those over here. Really important that you are not going too fast or too slow to create perfect sides. Comfortable, focused. Once we are coming up to the back of the fish, we are going with smaller size scales. Right? So this part is done.
5. Initiating in stippling technique.: Now we're going to create the dotted feeling. And shadowing of this. Fish is co-efficients. I will use as well the archival ink that I used for creating this scales. And now I will go with my details. What I will do over here is that I will paint textured lines to create the transparency feeling of transparency of those. And I will start doubting. When I say that I start talking. I mean that I just applied dots, lots of dots, one goes to another. The idea is that here we have a really dark side and all the dots will be one close to another. Once we move over here, the dots will be only for the details, nothing more. And not those who want to be so close one to another. We will only create some shading, say, ideas of these dots. And mainly all the dots will be here. And in this way we create the shadow. The idea is that if we need more shadow, then the total because the one to another. And those will be a lot of dots. If we need less shadow, like more highlights or mid-tones, then we will go and only some dots. And those ones T01 close to another, those will stay apart. And here we have some dots over here. That is that we don't have all the white spaces here. Hence now going forwards to our scales, create dots here to create the shadows. Very attentive here set into because over here we had been tinkle as dots. It will have more like midtones because we have some of the scales that stay in these parts that are darker of the fish. Here what we'll do, we'll paint a lot of dots one close to another in the way that it looks different and the darker than the dots that we paint on other scales. Right? For this reason, this drawing that I did with my graphic cell to stay. That's it again, helped me and guide me through all the work. If you feel that any bigger or Jiao feel free to take it. I will try to take it. Let's see if it goes faster. Still for redacting, I think that the term works Neta. If it doesn't seem difference, then up to you which one to choose. It requires a little bit of patience and time. I will split this video into several parts. If you want to, you can skip some of the parts and do it on your own. If not to then move with the same mean. So here we go with these dots and creating shadings. If you've think that it is not enough that you want to make it darker. It is up to you can calculate it in, in time and make more. At the beginning with make some dots. And we can change it. The texture. This technique has some sort of protocol because he concentrate on anything.
6. Stippling process: What I will do, I will overlay once again. This gills is I want to have more intensity and color. Overslept the beginning, we're done, see that we need to change something while we are doing the work. But once we have done some shadows are required, some midtones, we already know that, okay, hearing it, something to add. It is not enough, and so on and so forth. I think that this tip was a good choice to do that because in this way, it brings boldness to their work. We are Here, we have another darker side of the coin. I add more dots on it. I would really appreciate your thoughts about this technique of doing the shadows. Enjoy it. I think it is therapeutic way to code in town to enjoy the movement. Or it is one of the things that you wants to finish faster and just not so possible, like with a normal hedging. Obviously the class happens to be longer because we still longer time. I'm doing these things. It takes some time. And some patients. Here we finish with the Turkers side and we only apply a few dots. And here we started with either the sine. When it goes, we have very few things to do. Here. It takes less time. I always say that I really appreciate your comments. I enjoy reading those. It makes me feeling happy and fulfilled. Because it means that you enjoy my classes. If you're not commenting, I feel like you didn't like it too much. Obviously share any thoughts. But of course is in person, I live the best currents. The ones that are empowering me and my classes and helped me to move forward. It is nothing wrong to come back and to make some more dots if you feel so. First in beautiful fish is almost trading few steps to go. And we finishing. I really enjoy how this went. I think it's really beautiful. Now what do you want to do is something to create the ink. And I will use my brush. Because with Schrodinger here, I will leave this in because I wanted to be seen. Usually like in this situation to goes, to go really fast. But here i o, of doing some mistakes. And for this reason I'm going really slow. I advise you to go slowly or because they're here, semi details. And it isn't we introduce the better that you are noticing those. And now let's move on with this second part.
7. Final hatching details: Nice. Now how it is turning out. I hope you enjoy it. Assumption, covering this. So our work is reading assignment and erase all the lines that some of the lines already are not seen. So that's it. Thank you for watching. See you in the next class.
8. Last Thoughts: So friends of the glass came to me and I really hope you enjoyed this dot technique and you enjoyed these ink drawing. It was my first video courses here on Skillshare with ink. And I'm really excited. Please share your works with me. And I will command and thank you very much for watching.
