1. Basic approach of completing the kitchen in Revit: Now if you were to assemble your kitchen using rat family, it might be difficult for you. First of all, let's simply go to the level one floor plan. Simply double click on that. This is where we are going to set up our kitchen. You might already know about the basics of kitchen. You can easily place the component to this component tool which is in the built panel. All you need is just to simply click on that. After that you have to click on Load family, then just simply go back and then go back. And currently we are in the US folder. This is Smc family library, and there we have this casework. Simply double click on that. Then we have this base base cabinet. You can click on that. After that, you can choose any of the cabinet from here. Let's suppose I want to use this one. I can just simply click on that and click on Open. I can easily place that one here. I can change its properties from here, or I can rotate its orientation with the help of a space bar. Now, if you're following this process, it might be difficult for you to complete the kitchen. That's why I will show you another method by which you can easily complete your kitchen in it. 2. Inserting the fridge: Let's insert the appliances, like refrigerators saying can stop, you can do that. But first of all, what I would like to do is I would like to insert the refrigerator. Let's do that. All you need is just to simply open the file that I've given you. In that folder, there is a revit families that I've given you. This is the one that I'm talking about. And if you see here that you have lots of these here, you can see right now I'm interested in this refrigerator. You can just simply double click here. Then you can just simply scroll down where it says, this refrigerator side by side. You can use this one. You can use this one as well. So first I will add this refrigerator, and this will decide the basic dimensions of the kitchen, and later on we can add the case work. All you need is just to simply select that and track it right here. In order to do that, let me just simply cancel that one from here. I have already track that one here, but still I cannot see anything. What you have to do is you have to go to component here. In the component, you can see that this one is already loaded here. Just like that, you can just simply drag and load it from here. Now what I would like to do is I would like to rotate it just like this, using space par. You can rotate it like this. I will just simply place it right here. Just like that. Also, I will make sure that I'm creating a space between them as well. Let me place escape. You can see I've created a gap here. Now you might be asking why you just leave a cab. Why you cannot just simply align it with this wall? The thing is that there might be pipes. There might be wires for this refrigerator. That's why you need to make sure that there's a gap between that. You can just simply adjust it like this. You can see we have wires we have in let, that's why you need to make sure that you are giving a cap of this much around. Now you can see how much space we have here. As of now you can see currently the doors are open. If you click on that, you'll see on the left hand side in the properties you can just simply scrawl on, it says that show the door swing currently. This one is turned on. You can turn it off and you won't be able to see the door swing. You can see currently the doors are closed. If you click on that again, click on this one. The doors are open now, even if the detail level is set to course, you won't be able to see the doors whether they are open or closed. It will show you something like this to make sure that this one is set to fine so that you can see that the doors are open. Now, if you notice, one thing here is that we have a little bit of space here. What I will do is I will click on this one here. I would like to set the distance you can see it will be difficult for any person just to simply pass through this cap. I would like to increase the cap, so I will simply click on this one, I'm going to make it 140. And then presenter. Now you can see we have a sufficient space for the person to pass through this gap. Once we have set the refrigerator, we know that the counter top going to run around, that we round like this. If we explore the Vet family by going into Insert Tab and then click on Load Family. Currently we are in the base cabinet. We can just simply go back. We can look into the countertops. You can click on this one and use the arrow key to see the countertop. But the thing is that we have an issue that we have only two kinds of ship. We have L shape or a straight one, that we cannot use it here in our case. In that case, what we have to do is we have to add our own personalized countertop. 3. Creating the countertop: Now let's create the counter top for the kitchen. For that, what I'll do is I'll just simply go to the Architecture tab. If you see in the built panel, we have this component dropped down. You can click on that. And there we have this model in place. You have to just simply click on that. With the help of this, you can create or model a family inside the project. Here you have to choose that category. I'm going to choose this Case Work. And then simply click on Okay. Then here you have to give it a name and then click on Okay. Now what you have to do next is we have to set the plane. What I'll do is I'll simply click on Set the Work Plane Here. It will ask you which work field you want. Here you have the Pick up plane. Click on that and simply click on Okay. You can just simply take your mouse person like that and it will give you that plane. You can place the tap key in order to highlight one of the wall segment like that. You can see that this one is getting highlighted. After that, all you need is just to simply click on that one. We have set our work plane. Now what you have to do is you have to go to Forms. And there you have to click on the extrusion. And after that, you will get the straw option. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to draw a line from here around that countertop. So you can see here, I will start from here and then I will draw a line like this. You can see I have completed this line. After that, you can just simply tick mark on that one. You can finish that one and you can see we have a little bit of issue. I want some overlap with that. You can just simply double click on that one. In set the distance between them, you can click one of the line for a little bit of overlap. I would like to increase this two. You can see that this one is 60. I would like to make this 161, hit this one is 61. If you click on that one, you will see that this one is also 60, so we have to make this 161. And from this side as well, just because I want a little bit of overlap, I'm going to make this 161 again, just like that. Let's check this one. This one is looking fine. Let's click here. Once you're happy with that, you can just simply finish this one from here. If you look at the properties, you can see the extrusion end is at 25 centimeters. I don't want that, I would like to set it to four simp that. Then after that I'll just simply finish the model. From here you can see how this one is looking. Now if you want to double check this, what you can do is you can just simply go to this little icon. You can click on this camera, and you can place a camera just like this just to see this one. And you will get the proper view. And you can see how good this one is looking from here. 4. Finishing the basic layout: Now let's finish the basic layout here. First of all, what I will do is I'm going to place the sink here. After that I will place the cook top for that. Again, I'm going to use the same folder that I have given you in the resources. This is where the sink is and this is the sink that I'm going to use. You can just simply go back and see where exactly it is it is in the sinks. Simply double click on that, and this is the one that I will be using. You can just simply click here and track it right here. Just like that. It will take some time and show you the result. But the thing is that if you're not being able to see that, in that case, you have to go to Component and you have to click on this P on and simply tap Sink There. We have the sink. I'm going to use this sink here. Simply click on that, the smaller one, and then I will place it right here. After that, I'll press Escape, and I'm going to place the cooktop here. For that. Again, I'm going to use the same folder. Let's simply go back. If there is the cook top, simply double click on that, and this is the one that I will be using. You have to simply drag it here. And it will take some time. Again, if you're not being able to see that, you have to go to component. But luckily we are getting this right here. You need is just to simply place the space par in order to rotate that here as well. In the properties, you have to do a little bit of setting. Because if you look at the elevation height, the elevation height should be equal to the height of the counter top, which is equal to 90 centimeter here. I'm going to simply type 90, 90 centimeters. Then I will apply, then I'm going to place it right here. Let me press space par again. Then I will simply place it here, just like that. After that I'll scape. Let's have a look in the three D, and you can see how good this one is looking in the three D view. We don't want these walls anymore, so you can select them and delete them from here, just like that. Now if you click on the countertop, you will see that we have an issue. The thing is that this one is getting overlapped with this sing and this cooktop. We have to solve this issue. For that, let me just simply go to level one. What I will do is I will simply double click on it. Again, I will double click on it. After that, you will get this draw option. What you have to do is all you need is just to simply create rectangle. In order to create the hole, I'm going to draw a rectangle like this for the whole. Maybe I will start from here and draw a rectangle from here to here. Just like that. I will do the same thing for this one as well, and I will draw rectangle from this point. Then after that click here, we have drawn these two rectangles and I'm going to finish this one from here, you can see how this one is looking. Let's have a look in the three D view and see how this one is looking. Now you can see that this one is looking perfectly fine. We have completed the basic layout. 5. Placing the corner dishwasher: Now let's place the base cabinet here. In this region. I will start from the corner. Now let's go back to level one here. What I will do is I will select this countertop. I'm going to make this one transparent so that we can see the elements that we are going to place below. For that, all you need is just to simply right click here and then click on over at Graphical view and then click on By Element. After that you'll get this box. And here you can see you can set that transparency. I'm going to make it like this. You can go up to 100% but I'll suggest you to keep it at 80. Simply click on okay. And you can see that this one is not transparent. Now here I'm going to place the cabinet for that. All you need to do is just to simply open the file that I've given you, which is this one here. You have to look for the case cabinets and then go to base cabinet. Let me show you here. I'm having this base cabinet simply double click on that. This is the one that I will be using. Base cabinet corner, basically, I will start from here, so that's why I'm going to use this one. All I need is just to simply select that and track this one here. It will take some time and it will show you something like this. I'm going to place it here. After that, I will press Escape. What I'll do next is I will simply select that, and I need to move this one to this side. For that, I'll just simply go to this move tool. I will make sure that I'm clicking on its corner and then I will move and then click here. Just like that. This one is move successfully. But the thing is that we have a little bit of issue. If you'll see here that this one is getting intersecting with this thing. We have to move this one. I will simply select that, move, this one just like that. You can see we have successfully moved that. But still we have that issue. You can see that opening. We have to adjust this opening as well. Let's zoom in in this region so that we can clearly see. We have to adjust this opening as well, just like that. Now this one is looking perfect. Let's have a look in the three view. You can see how this one is looking in the three view. 6. Placing the cabinets: Now let's work on this side here. What I'll do is I'll place the cabinet. But I would like to place the cabinet in such a way so that I can place some cheers as well. For that, let's simply go to level one here. What I will do, I'm going to place some cabinets here. Let's go to component, and let's search for the cabinets. Let's look for this one single door. Okay, I will go ahead with this 500 MM and then I will click here. And then I'm going to place it somewhere here. Before placing that, I would like to do some modifications here. I'm going to click on this one because I want half of this so that I can place it easily. And I'm going to click on Edit type. I'm going to duplicate this. I'll simply make it simply, okay. Then we have this depth. Let's make it half, and make it 30 simple. Okay? Now this one is 30. So you can go here. You can select this one from here, and you can see that this one is already there. This one is half. Now, I'm going to place this one here, but before that, let me just simply delete this one from here. Let's go back to the component, and let's simply click here, and this is the half that we are looking for. And you can just simply place it right here. All you need is just to simply rotate it. Have to rotate a position like this, you have to place it like this. We have successfully placed that. Let's have a look at the three view, how this one is in the three view and you can see in the three view, this one is looking perfect. After that, I will press the scape, then I will go to the label like again and I'm going to create a copy of that, Let's simply that type and create a copy like this. After that, I will press this scape. Now you can see we have created a copy. Now what you can do is you can align this one with this. In order to do that, you can use the Align tool. You can click here, and then we align this one with this. And then with this, simply press Escape one more time. Then I'm going to align this one with this. Just like that. And we have completed this part. Let me press escape. Let me show you that in the three view and you can see how good the sum is looking in the three. We have a little bit of a space just for the chairs so that you can easily presses. You can sit down here and you can do some works, you can eat there as well. 7. Beverage center: Now if you notice, you can see we have this much of space. And here what I will do is I'm going to paste up beverage, refrigerator, small one. For that, what I will do is I will just simply go to the file that I've just provided to you. And you can see here in the other, we have all of these other families. You can see all you need is just to simply click here and then drag it right here, Just like that. It will take a little bit of time. After that, you can see we have done that thing here. Let me just simply zoom in in this region. I will use the space bar to rotate it like this, and I'm going to place it like this. You can see just like this, that after that I'll press escape. I don't like how this one is getting represented and this level one, I'm going to select this and then I will go to Edit. I would like to turn off this level from here simply and I'll successfully turn off that. And you can see that this one is getting intersecting with this one. You don't worry about that, just simply click here. You can see here that you have to delete this one from here. Let me just simply delete that here. What you have to do is you have to place an adjustable cabinet. For that, you have to go to cabinet and then you have to click on this one. And then simply tap adjustable. You can see we have this adjustable width, so you can click on this one, then you can just simply place it here. And after placing that, you can press Escape. And you can see you can just this one like that, you can see you can click on this one. The thing here is that this one is the weight. Basically what you have to do is you have to create a similar copy of what we are doing right now. If we go back to the three view, you can see how this one is looking in the three D view. But what we have to do is we have to again create a duplicate of this. Let me just simply go here and click on Edit Type there. We have to duplicate that. I'm going to again, call this half. Click on okay, and I'm going to make this 130, then simply click on okay. You can see we have created that. And let me just simply select this and delete this one from here. Again, I will go back to the component and you can see you have to look for that stable half there. We have that half, You can simply place it here and you have to rotate its position just like that. And you can just simply match it with this one. After that, you can press Escape. You have to click on this one again. You have to control its width like this, and then match it like this. You can see that this one is not matching perfectly. In that case, you can use the Align tool. You can use Align and click on this one. And align this one with this. And you can see that this one is perfectly aligned. You can escape a couple of times to get out of this command. If you go back to the theory view, you can see how this one is looking. This one is looking perfectly fine. You can just simply go here and make it fine to get more details, and you can see it here. 8. Hiding the back of the cabinet: Now if you look at this one, we can see, clearly see that there is an issue. The thing is that we are being able to see the back of the cabinet, which is not looking that good. We need to fix that. In order to fix that, what you have to do is you have to select the top of this. You have to go here and click on this edit in place. After that, you have to go to the elevation. I've opened one of the elevation from here, which is the interior elevation. All you need to do is just simply go and create extrusion. I'm going to create the extrusion from this point. I will be using this rectangle in order to create the extrusion just like that. Then after that, I will take my mouse cursor to this end, which is here, just like that. After that I will set the extrusion end. This will be two MM thickness, two centimeter thickness. I just made this one to hit apply and then finish it from here. Let's have a look in the three view, how this one is in the three and you can see that this one is looking pretty good in the three view. 9. Creating the another design: Now let's suppose you want to make this one more beautiful. In that case, what you can do is, again, you can just simply select that and then click on Edit in place. Let me show you what you can do from here. Is we have already selected this plane, the back one. But you need to select the plane again. Let me cancel it from here. And first of all, let me simply type K from my keyboard in order to pick the plane. This is the plane that I'm going to select like this. I've selected the plane successfully. Then I will simply click on this or that. You can just click of these, then you can click on it in place. And here what I will do is I will go to Elevation and this is where I'm going to work. Either you can do the same thing in the three D or you can do the same thing in the elevation part as well. You have to go to Create and then click on Extrusion. Then you have to draw something like this. Maybe I will start from here, or I can do the same thing in the elevation part as well. You can see you have to choose a line. I will basically start from this line. Okay, let me there's an issue, don't worry about that. Simplify, escape and then cancel it from here. Now here you have to choose that because we have chosen that option in the three D, that's why we are unable to select that one from here. Now that we are in the elevation. Now again, go back to Create. Click on Excuse. Now you can see you can easily use these options. What I will do is I will draw something like this, as you can see. Going to set the thickness to two. Then after that I will go down here from here, just like that. After that what it will do is I would like to do some modifications here. You can see the thickness is two, and if you click here, click on this line, you can see the thickness is six. I'm going to make it two again. Maybe I can click on this one and make it two. Just like that, we have a uniform thickness of two. This one is looking good. After that, I will finish this one from here and I will set the extrusion end. I'm going to extrude it to 25, then finish the model. Let's have a look in the three view and you can see how this one is looking in the three view. 10. Placing the hood in the kitchen: Now let's see how we can add the hood just above the stove or the cook top here. In our case we have our cook top. This is where I'm going to add the hood so that it can collect the fumes Weber smell and get it out of the room. For that, I'll just simply go to the level one and I'll just simply zoom in here, and this is where I'm going to place that hood. Simply open up the file that I've just given you, which is this one here. We have this hood. Simply double click on that. All you need is just to simply click here and drag it right here. Just like that. It will take some time. As you can see, we have our hood. Simply press the Space Water to rotate that and then click here. After that I will press Escape. And I don't want to see this went hood, I'll simply go here. Go to Edit Type, and then I will simply hide this label. Now let's align this with this one here. I will simply type L. Then I'm going to click here, and then click here. You can see that this one is aligned perfectly and this looks good. But if you go back to three view, you can see we have a little bit of issue. This one is starting from the crown, we need to fix that. All we need to do is just to simply select that hood, then simply go here. You can see elevation from level is currently zero. We have to make some changes here. Let's make this 150 in order to solve that issue. Now you can see that this one is at correct place. Now if you notice, you can see we have one more issue here as well. This one is not going to the top, basically, you have to select it again. Then simply scroll down and you can see in the dimensions we have height. What you can do is you can simply click contact. Let's make this 150. Simply take your mouse, because then you can see whatever the issue we have has been successfully solved. Now we need to fix this thing here as well. Let's go to elevation here. What I'll do is I'll just simply zoom in in this region, I will click contact, then I will track it from here to here, just like that. After that, I'm going to create a similar copy of that. I will simply click here and then drag it from here to here, and then match it here. After that I will just simply escape And you can see whatever the issue we have has been sold successfully. Now if you go back to the three view, we can see our hood here. 11. Applying the material in Revit: Now see how you can apply the material. For that, just to see the material exactly what material we are going to apply you. First of all, you need to change the visual style as of. Now, I will simply go here and I'm going to make this one realistic just to make sure that we can clearly see exactly what kind of material we are using and how it is looking in the realistic view. Now you can see we have this material, and if I just simply zoom in, you can see that this color here is a birch color here as well. What I will do is I will just simply select this one. If I want to apply the same burge color, I can just simply go to edit type. Then here you can see in the metal and finishes, I'm having this cabinet material and then the material and then the handle material, Let's say I want to apply the birch color to this cabinet material. I will simply click here. I will click on the three dots. Then I will search for the Berge. You see there we have our Berge. You can simply click on that and then click on Okay. Then click Okay. Again, you will see that we have successfully applied that color. Here you can see that this one is not changed because if you simply select that, if you go to the editor, you can see we have only changed the cabinet material, the raw material. If you want to use the draw material as well, what you can do is you can just simply select that. You can use Control C to copy that, and you can click here. Then you can just use control V to paste the same color in order to save the time, you can just simply click on Hit. Okay. If you click outside, you can see we have successfully applied that perch color here. You're going to do the same thing for this one as well. You can go here, you can click on Type, You can select this, simply select this control, go here, and then control V, and then click on Okay. Now I will do the same thing for this one as well. You can see it, type, and then click on Okay. After that, I will select this one, this cabinet here that you can see clearly, you can click on Type select this, then control. After that, all you need is just simply click on Okay. You can see we have successfully applied the birch color in here. We are not going to change this color, maybe this color, because these are the colors that are provided by the manufacturer. I hope you don't want to change this. This is how you can apply the material. But still you can see that we are not being able to see the cabinets which are present on this side here as well. We have to apply the same material, but we cannot see that as of now, how we can do that. We will see that in the next video. 12. Applying the material on the opposite side: I'll see how you can apply the colors, you can apply the materials on this side, because as of now, you cannot see this side. For that, what we will do is I will just simply go to this navigation. Well, I'll click here. Then after that, I will just simply click here and then drag it. And then just place it somewhere here to see exactly what we're going to do. Now after clicking on that, you can see we have these options. We have walk options. What we can do is just simply, we can walk, we can move around, you can go here. You just need to make sure that you're moving pretty slow. You can see that how slow I'm moving. Then you can just simply look on this side and you can just simply go here. You can just simply go to this side and hear from this side just like that. You can see it now once you're done, you can just simply close this one like this, you can see the moments here. Now what you can do is you can just simply easily select these cabinets and you can simply go to edit type. You can go here, control can control that, and then click on, okay.
