Hello and welcome to class! In this twelve minute class, we'll create an iPad GIF in Canva.
As a thank you for taking this class, I’m providing an iPad frame, in both portrait and landscape orientation, as well as an Apple Pencil Element.
First, we'll learn how to build the background of the GIF including;
- making a table top mock up.
- how to use and adjust the Canva frame.
- adding shadows.
- adding a vignette
Next We'll duplicate the background slides and add artwork,
Finally, we will generate the gift and learn how to adjust the timing of the GIF.
The class is beginner friendly, though it does assume a basic understanding of Canva.
This class is for anyone with a Canva account, both free and pro.
The class is taught on Canva’s desktop app, however, you can complete the class on either the browser, or iPad, versions, as long as you know where the tools are located.
After earning my degree in Art education from Wayne State University in Michigan, I spent several years in the classroom teaching art education. In 2000, I left to become a full time artist and have been happily creating work ever since. In addition to line art, I am also an accomplished oil and acrylic painter, as well as a digital artist, who has sold my work online, in art festivals, as well as brick and mortar stores and galleries across the United States. My work has been featured both in print and on television.
Be sure to hit follow on my profile so you’re always notified whenever I post a new class.
Are you ready to tell the story in your lines? If so, let's dive in!

Hands-on Class Project
The project for this class is to create a GIF slideshow for your artwork, for either social media, your website, or both.
Remember to share your GIF to the Class Projects. We are building a GIF gallery! You’ll find step by step instructions on how to share your project, in the Class Guide PDF, which is available for download below.
Sharing your project not only allows future students to see what they can learn when they take the class, it helps more students find the class! Thank you.
