1. Course Introduction: Hi, thank you for joining me in this class. In this course, I will share with you the main design principles you need to follow in order to have a beautiful and well-designed space. It is going to be a very simple and fun guides that will help you decorate your perfect Hall. We will touch on balance, color theory, gliding, layout rules and ways you can make the interior design process more enjoyable. Thank you for deciding to enroll in this class. I will see you in the first lesson.
2. Balance Rules: This first glass touches on the main rule you should follow in order to achieve a well-balanced base. In first-principle asymmetry, this basically consists of arranging elements on either side of a center in equally weighted matter. You can think of it like a mirror image. Asymmetrical balance happens when you have different elements on either side of a design, but are arranged so that there's still a sense of balance. This concept is really fun to using bedrooms or kids bedrooms as it gives a more playful, less serious atmosphere. Radial balanced occurs when the elements are placed in a circular form, varying from a common center. It is less used in residential design and can be seen more in big venues, like concert halls or theaters.
3. Color Theory: The next aspect I would like to touch on with you is colored theory. This is a pretty important topic and interior design because color choices play a key role in the overall environmental home. It can influence moods, feelings, and even increase how much sleeping gets. First of all, the easiest way of understanding color theory is to color wheels. So I prepared here a couple of examples for you that will guide you in choosing the right color fit for your home. One of the main ways you can successfully use color theory in your house is taken to a monochromatic palette. This consists of using different shades of the same color throughout your space, which will help convey a very elegant and put together atmosphere. On the same note, if you look at the monochromatic local, but you would still like to add a little more diversity. Using the analogous colors on the wheel is a great solution. This consists of using three colors that sit right next to each other on the wheel, like you see in the diagram here. Another great way to implement color in your home is working with complimentary colors. These are elements that sit opposite from one another on the wheel and look very good when placed together. Because when they are mixed, they produced the color grey, so they neutralize each other. Following this principle gives her space more contrast, harmony and balance. The split complementary scheme is just like the complementary color scheme, but you use two of the adjacent colors instead of the complement. Like in this picture, this color scheme has the same strong visual contrast as the complementary color scheme, but has less tension. There is often a good choice for beginners because it is pretty difficult to mess up. For the triad color combinations simply take three colors that are equal distance from one another on the color wheel. And there you have it. The rectangle or to triadic color scheme uses four colors arranged into two complimentary pairs. These rich color schemes offer plenty of possibilities for variation. They were best if you let one color predominant. You should also pay attention to the bands between warm and cool colors in your design. Another group of its own, when it comes to color in a home are neutral. They're actually not really considered colours. They are very desaturated versions of a color and are created by mixing two complimentary colors. The main neutrals are white, black, gray, and brown. They are predominantly used in interior design because they are easy to pair with a lot of elements and their time is choice. One thing you need to be careful about when choosing to work with neutrals are undertones. If you want a cozy and warm atmosphere, use neutrals. Would a warm undertone. If you want a chic and elegant look, use elements with a cool undertone. Whatever you choose, avoid mixing cool and warm undertones together.
4. Lighting: Lighting is a very important and often overlooked aspect when it comes to interior design. It affects the way we perceive and experience the space, is what is our mood and emotion. But it is also something we can very easily fix and adjust. Following just wondering principle. You need to properly coordinate the temperature of your lighting source according to your space and a function of that space. And here's how you do that. Use warm lying in rooms like bedrooms and living rooms as those faces require Cause you're more comfortable atmosphere. Choose light sources with temperatures found in the Kelvin scale at around 2700 Kelvin to 3 thousand Kelvin. For places like the kitchen, bathroom or the entryway, you can use a more neutral light around 3,100 Kelvin to 4,500 Kelvin. As those bases are dedicated for different desks. The cooler light temperatures are decades commercial or workspaces like hospitals, offices, garages, and so on. So avoid using those in her home. Also do not mix lighting sources of different temperatures in the same rule. For example, if you have an open space with a kitchen, dining room, and living room, use only warm lighting with the same kelvin value all throughout the space.
5. Moodboard: Now that you know the main rule you should keep in mind when designing a space, you start to get some more concrete things. And for that I suggest you creates a mood board. And this is a very fun and simple way to get a bigger picture of what you want your space to look like and play around with different ideas. And would work consists of an arrangement of pictures, materials, furniture designs are illustrations, color palettes, textures, anything that inspires you and helps you define the direction of your project.
6. Kitchen: In this last part of the course, I want to give you some practical and technical tips for designing each important removal house. Let's start with the kitchen and I want to show you here some things you should keep in mind when furnishing kitchen. First of all, you should live at least four centimeters or 16 inches between the contours and the door so we can fully open and not hit any part of the workspace. Also, it is ideal to leave a space of around 47 inches between the unit so everything can flow nicely together. Here I prepared on illustration with the standard dimensions of the cabinets that go into a kitchen. And as you can see, the top cabinets needs to be a bit narrower than the bottom ones and placed at the height of around 60 centimeters or 24 inches from the bottom ones. You can go with lower with the top cabinets if you really need to maximize your space, but don't go beyond 45 centimeters or 18 inches. Another deployment comes to kitchen design is to place the synchronous central point because it is the most used area of the room and you need to have the easiest access to it. Also, do not place the oven right next to the fridge. It can damage your fridge if the heat from the oven gets too close. As a rule of thumb, you need at least 40 centimeters or 16 inches of space immediately next to the fridge or the oven in order to lay down whatever you are working with from those areas. For example, the food you get out of the fridge or the hot bought from stole.
7. Living Room: When setting the living room, a good starter would be to create a center and a focal point. The center usually is the coffee table around which a pleasure sitting in the focal point consists of a wall or an area that you want to emphasize and transforming to the main thing people see when they walk into the room. The optimal distance between furniture pieces in your living room is about 30 to 36 inches. If you don't have that kind of space, you could do 18 to 24 inches. Also makes sure there is no less than 3.5 feet and no more than ten feet of space between seeding. The coffee table should be at least half the length of your sofa, but no more than four inches higher, shorter than the top of your sofa seat. The ideal distance between the sulfur and the coffee table is 16 inches to 18 inches. If you would like to have a television in your living room, used to hang it at around 30 inches above the lowest seat height in the room and keep at a distance of around seven inches from the sofa. And of course, these values may vary depending on the size of the TV and the size of the living room, which is just a general guideline.
8. Dining Room: When considered dining room, you need to keep in mind that 60 centimeters or 20-40 range is the minimum of space you should have between the chairs in the wall to provide a comfortable area for the guest speaker seed and get up from it. Also, each person that seat at the table should have at least 60 centimeters or 24 inches of space dedicated.
9. Master Bedroom: When it comes to the master bedroom, It would be ideal if you could keep the circulation on one side of the room. So place your furniture or at least most of it against the walls. But make sure the head of the bed is always placed against the wall. Also, the master race should be placed in the middle, never in a corner, so that both people have access to it from the side. Another thing you should avoid at all costs is placing your bed directly under a window. There are so many reasons why you shouldn't place a bit under a window from light entering the room during the night. Noise and even cold air from outside, the windows are not insulated properly. The entry should be visible from the bed and also on the diagonal from it. It should not be behind to decide or immediately in front of the bed.
10. Kids Bedroom: When it comes to bedrooms dedicated to kids or teenagers, this is a place that allows you to play around a bit more with the core. You can bring in different phone wall patterns, colorful Paint and wallpapered. These types of elements can easily be changed. Why Circuit rules up on like a bed in the shape of a car or a princess Castle for example. So I would recommend you furnish the kids room with pieces that are going to grow with them and not required to be replaced in five years. It's much easier and more convenient to apply a fresh coat of paint wants the kid grows out of the patterns on the walls. Then we furnishing and entire room. Storage is also something you should think about when decorating your kid's bedroom. Because they need additional space to stores toys or books. Built-in shelves and a desk are a great idea to maximize space and bringing a lot of storage. Also in these types of rooms, it is allowed and often encouraged to place a bet in the corner as opposed to the master, because the space is usually smaller.
11. Course Project: We've come to the end of this course. Thank you for following along. I hope you found it useful and got some valuable information out of it.
