1. Class introduction: Welcome to the Instagram Reels branding kit with Canva. My name is Anthony Isaac, and I am your instructor for this class. If you've ever felt like Reels lacked a polished professional feel or you're just ready to elevate your Instagram brand, this class is going to be a game changer. Over the next few lessons, I'm going to walk you through everything you need to create a cohesive and scroll stopping branding kit, specifically for your Instagram reels, using one of my favorite tools, Canva. With over five years of experience designing in Canva for both personal and professional projects, I've learned what works and what doesn't, and how to make your visuals instantly recognizable and on brand without needing to be a designer. So here's what you can expect in this class. You'll learn how to create custom real covers that match your brand's vibe. We'll design animated video overlays that add energy to your content. I will show you how to build your own Reels branding kit from scratch, including color palettes, fonts, logo placement, and more. Yes, we'll even jump inside the Instagram app so I can show you how to apply everything properly. By the end of this class, you'll have an easy to use kit that saves you time, keeps your Instagram feed looking sharp and helps your audience instantly recognize your content. This class is designed for creators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who want to build a consistent and powerful Instagram presence without hiring a designer or spending hours every week creating visuals from scratch. I'm excited to have you on this journey. Let's dive in and start building your Instagram Reels branding kit with Canva. 2. Why Strong Branding Matters on Instagram Reels: Welcome back. In this video, I want to quickly break down what a Reels branding kit actually is and why it's something that every content creator and business owner should have. What is a Reels branding kit? Simply put, it's a collection of predesigned ready to use visual elements that you can apply to all of your Instagram reels to keep your content looking consistent, professional, and on brand. Think of it like your digital wardrobe, but for your videos. It includes things like your reels covers, logo placements, font styles, brand colors, and even animated overlays that match your vibe. Now, why do you need one? Because branding builds recognition when your audience sees your content and immediately knows it's you before they even read the caption, you're building trust, authority, and connection. It also saves you a ton of time. Instead of starting from scratch with every new reel, you'll have a plug and play system ready to go. This means more time creating and less time stressing over design. And let's be honest, Instagram is a visual platform. If your reels look polished and consistent, people are more likely to stop scrolling, watch and engage with your content. So whether you're a business, a content creator or someone just getting started, having a reels branding kit is like having your own mini design studio in your pocket. In the next few videos, I'll walk you through exactly how to build your own step by step using Canva. So let's get started. 3. Navigating Canva for Beginners: Welcome back. Before we start building our Reals branding kit, we're going to have a quick look around Canva. If you're brand new or haven't used it much, this will help you feel more confident as we move forward. I'll walk you through the main areas of Canva and show you exactly where to find what you need. So we're just going to be having a quick look around the Canva interface, how to use basic features, create projects and simple things like that. So let's get straight into it. First of all, we have the home dashboard. When you sign into your Canva accounts, this is what you'll see. Now, if you haven't created any projects, you won't have the recent designs in the middle of the screen right here, but you will have everything else. If you have Canva Pro, you won't see the upgrade your plan button. Now this account is currently a free Canva account. So if you also have a free account, you'll be able to do everything that I am doing as well. Now, as you can see, we can search for a template. So for example, we're going to be creating projects to do with Instagram reels. So if I simply typed in Instagram reels, you can see these results here. So we can either search for Instagram Reels, or we can click onto one of these other options. So let's click onto Instagram Reels cover. And here you can see all of the templates for Instagram reels covers. Now we can build this from scratch or we can use a template. Now, what this will do is create a project that is the right size, and it will also give us a preset design, saving us lots of time. So say this first one here, for example, if you want to click onto that, you can then preview the project. You can look at the size of the project on the right over here, and this is the size that we'll be needing, which is 1080 by 1920 pixels. So this is basically a vertical Instagram reals cover template. Now to create a project using this template, all you need to do is click the customize this template button. As well as that, you can also favorite it, and then you can share it by clicking on the Free dots and then clicking Share. If you'd like a specific designer, you can also follow them, but that's not really anything you need to know right now. And to be honest, that's not even anything I do. Now, I'm going to close this search, and I'm going to leave the templates tab by clicking the small X here. And as you can see, this has taken us straight back to our dashboard. Now, under the question, what will you design today? You have three options, your designs. These are previous designs you have created, and then we have templates, which is what we've just used. And then we also have Canva AI, which is all of the different things you can do using AI within Canva. But we're not really going to look into that right now. In the dashboard, you can also access other things on the left. So you can create your project by clicking Create. You can go home, which is where we are now. You can view your other projects. You can access templates, view your brand kit. However, this is a premium feature. But if I click onto this, you can see that you can add a color palette and your logo, and other things like that, including fonts as well. So you can easily access them within all of your projects. Then we have Canva AI, which is what we were looking at a minute ago. And then we have apps, so you can install additional apps to your Canva. Accounts. Now, this isn't too important if you're only just beginning to use Canva. So don't let this stress you out or anything like that. This is something you can look at later on. And then finally, we have Admin, which I'm not going to click on because it has all of my profile information within my Canva account. So let's go back home. So if I click onto the templates tab again, we can see that templates are sorted by multiple categories. So we have for you. Now, if you haven't used Canva before, this won't be very useful. But if you've used Canva a lot, it will give you templates that are related to previous templates you've used, and then you have the templates that you have starred and then business, social media, and other categories as well. So it all depends what you want to create with Canva as to what type of template and what type of project you want to create. So if you're designing Instagram post, click on the Instagram post project, and this will give you all of the different templates for Instagram posts. Now I'm going to go back home, and we're going to again, type in Instagram reels. And for some reason, this has opened AI. I want to go onto templates instead. That's right. Instagram reels cover. So we have these Instagram reels cover templates, and I'm going to click on this first one here, and I'm just going to scroll down to see other related templates. There's quite a few good ones here, to be honest. A lot of these look good. This one's nice, as well. Depends on the style you're going to go for. But let's click Customize This template. And this is what you'll see once you have created a project. So you can, of course, if you want to create a blank project. I've created a project using a template. Now it's not going to be too different. The interface will be exactly the same. It's just the only differences will be the title will be the title of the template if you use a templated project, and there will be some content already here. If you create a project from scratch, you will simply see a blank page much like this, and the size of it will be depending on the type of project you create. So if I just give you that example again by going back to the dashboard, and let's say I want to create a YouTube Thumbnw we'll click the Create button and we'll type in YouTube. TumbNw and we'll create a blank YouTube thumbnail project. So that is how you can start a project from scratch. Then it will open up the relevant templates if you want to use a template, but if you don't, you can then go ahead and access the different elements and text and all of the different elements in order for you to create a custom project. Let's really quickly have a look at some of the basic features within a project. In order to add elements, you can simply go on to the elements tab and you can add different graphics, shapes. You can add AI images using the AI image generator. You have stickers, photos, videos, audio, charts, and so much more. So let's say you want to add a photo, go to the Photos tab and then search for the type of photo you want to add, or you can have a look at some of the trending photos. So let's add this one here. This is now in the project. You can resize it nice and easily. You can move it around. You can use the background remover. If you have a pro subscription, you can crop it. Just like this, you can edit the picture. It will then open the editing menu. So you have all of these different options for editing your pictures. If you want to add text, you can click text, and then you can either add a blank textbox and add your own text and customize it from here. So if you want to make the text bigger, you can change the color like so, you can change the font. You can change the text size, you can make it bold, italic, underlined. You can make it all capitals. You have so many customization options. So there we go. That is the basic features within Canva. You can also export and download your project by clicking Share and then clicking the Download button, choose the file type you want to download your project as and then the size. Some of these features with the crown next to them are only for premium accounts. So if you don't have a premium account, you can simply ignore that. However, you will need a premium account to download images with a transparent background. And then once you're happy, simply click the download button. And it will download the photo to your computer. Then you can simply give it a file name and click Save, but I'm not going to be doing that right now. This video was only for beginners, and that shows you just simply how you can navigate the Canva interface. So there we go. That is all for this video. I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you in the next one. Thanks, and goodbye. 4. Choosing the Right Canva Template Sizes for Reels: Welcome back. Now that you know your way around Canva, let's talk about choosing the right template size for your Instagram reels. This is one of the most important steps to make sure your designs fit perfectly and look professional on the platform. So the recommended Instagram reels size is 1080 by 1920 pixels, which is a vertical format, and it's a nine by 16 aspect ratio. Now, this is the size for Instagram reels, and this will be exactly the same for IscramRels covers. So if you want to design a cover for your IscramRels, you'll want to design it the same size as the reel itself. To find the correct size in Canva, you can either create a custom size project by clicking the custom size button over here and then simply typing in the width and height that you require. So we require a width of 1080 and a height of 1920, and that will be in pixels. And then once you've put in your dimensions, you can simply click create a new design button. Or alternatively, you can create a project using a template, which will automatically already have the right size. So if I type in Instagram reels, All of these should be the right size for Instagram reels. Now, there could be one or two which will be wrong, but you'll be able to spot them easily. However, it looks like all of these are fine. But once you create a project, you can double check the size of the design. Let's just create it right now. You can double check the size by simply clicking the file button, and then you can see the size just here, which is 1080 by 1920 pixels, which is exactly what we want. Now, why does the size of the design matter? Well, simply put it needs to fit on Instagram as an Instagram reel. And if you have it as the wrong size, too big or too small, you can have crop text or cut off visuals, or it might not even let you upload it altogether. It's also important to remember the margins within the Instagram reels. Now, what I mean by this is that you want to leave space for the captions, the profile name, and the different buttons that show within the Instagram interface while someone is viewing your Instagram reels. Now, the easy way to put this is your profile name will be at the bottom left and the like and comment and share buttons will be on the right over here. And there will also be some additional buttons at the top of the screen. You can have a look at this example just here, so you can see you want to keep text and logos out of this placement so that it's not covered by different buttons and text in the Instagram interface. If you have Canva Pro, you can use magic resize to repurpose designs from other formats. So let's say you have designed an Instagram post, which is a square, and you want to use that same design for your Instagram reels. You can simply click the resize button. And then click Resize to resize it to be an Instagram reel so that it's the correct size for what you need. Finally, always remember to preview your design in full screen before exporting, just to make sure that you have seen everything because you don't want to then upload it to Instagram and see that something is in the wrong place or that you've forgotten to add something. So always remember to preview it in full screen. Then once you are ready to download your design, you can simply click the Share button, go over to Download. Select the format depending on what it is that you're downloading, whether it's a video or a design for your Instagram reals covers. Select the quality. You can save your download settings if you want to, and then you can simply click the Download button. So there we go. That is how you can make sure that you are choosing the right Canva template sizes for your Instagram reels. That's all for this video. I'll see you in the next one. Thanks and goodbye. 5. Designing a Custom Instagram Reels Cover Template: That we're familiar with Canvas interface is time to dive into creating your custom real covers. A well designed cover can make your contents stand out and encourage more engagement. In this video, I'll show you how to design a custom cover template from scratch that's perfectly aligned with your brand. So to begin with, we're going to create a blank project, that is the correct size for an Instagram reels cover. So to do that, we're going to click the Create button, and then we're going to go down on the left to custom size, and it's going to be 1080 by 1920 pixels, then we're happy, so we're going to click Create New Design. Now, you can start from a blank canvas like this and build your Instagram reels cover to be exactly how you want it to be, or you can save some time and use a template. That is completely up to you. However, if you do want to use a template, I would just search for Instagram. Reels cover. And then you have loads of relevant templates for what it is that you're trying to build. Now, I'm going to show you how to do this from scratch, so we're not going to be using a template. So we're going to start at the beginning, and the easiest way to start is by customizing the background. So what we're going to do is just add a solid color background for now, and I'm going to go to my brand colors and use my blue. However, you can use a completely new color, any color that you want, that is completely up to you. You can always change this later as well. It is super easy to change at any time in the process. Now, if you want to, you could have an image as the background instead, or additionally, you could have an image as the background. Now what do I mean by this? Let's go to elements and then images. I'm going to click onto photos, and then within photos, I'm going to type for let's say MacBook. And then we have some cool MacBook photos. Now, if I just drag this over the project, like so, it will make this photo, the background. However, what I'm trying to do is use this photo, but also still use the color, and you can also double click it to realign it to how you want it to be. In fact, I don't think this picture is a very good one to use. So I'm just going to drag this one here in instead. Then what I'm trying to say is if you also want to use the background color that you added, what you want to do is click onto your image and then go to the transparency icon and just bring the transparency down. You can faintly see the image in the background, but you can also see the color. There we go. We have the background created. We have an image, and we have a color, and I think that fits together quite nicely. Next up, we're going to add some text. Now, this is going to really be what sells your Instagram reel because this is the text that will be the first thing people see when they scroll by the reel. What we're going to do is click onto text. Now, if you don't have a brand kit or if you don't have Canva premium, which at the moment, I don't can see that I can't click onto any of these because I no longer have Canva premium. You can add a default heading, subheading or body text, or you can add a simple text box and customize it all to how you want it to be. And you can also use font combinations if you scroll down. If you want to save some time, all of these are predesigned, but some of them do require Canva Pro. So what I'm going to be doing is using the heading text style. And then we're going to center this just like that. And I'm going to make the text color white for now. There we go. Then I'm going to add a body text and place it at the top, and we're going to control D to duplicate it and paste it at the bottom as well. This gives us a hierarchy of text. Now, this is not going to say body heading, body. The top will say my name or your name, or you can even change it to be your logo. The heading in the middle will be the title of the real or something that will make people click onto the RL. Then the text at the bottom for me will be my web address. This can be anything else. It could be your Instagram user name. It could be literally anything. It is completely up to you. So there we go. What I'm going to do now, I'll just change these so that they actually say what I want them to say. Now, like I said, this could also be your logo at the top. It is completely up to you. So there we have my web address, my name, which is basically the same as the web address, but that doesn't matter. I think I will probably add my logo instead, but we can leave that for now. And then for the heading, it depends on what Instagramrio you'll be creating a cover for. Now, we're creating a template. So the majority of this will stay the same for all of them. However, the heading will need to change because the videos change and they'll have different titles or different text that you'll want to use to make people click onto them. So as this example, I'm just going to write how to design a logo in Canva. And then we're going to make it so that it fits in a bit better. There we go. That's much better. So we have how to design a logo in Canva. So this could be an Instagram For some reason, that doesn't look centered. There we go. That's much better. How to design a logo in Canva. There we go. That sounds good. Now we will need to change the fonts as well so that they are the fonts for our brand or the fonts that you just want to use. Then what we're going to do is add some elements. So we're going to go over to elements again, back out of photos. And what I'm looking for is a sort of outline for this text here. So I think the best way to do that is to add this shape here, and then I'm going to make it quite a bit taller and also wide other than the text, it's going to be behind. But I think that is a bit too wide. So let's make it narrower. Okay. Then we're going to make this white, but I'm not going to use white. I'm going to use my brand color, which is sort of off white, and then we're going to add a border as well. And actually, before I do that, I will increase the corner rounding. To 70. To add a border, we will click onto the stroke style here, and it's going to be a fixed stroke. I think four pixels sounds good to me, and I'm going to change the color to my brand color here. Then what we're going to do is right click it and go to Layer and then send back. In fact, it needs to come forward once because it's now behind the background image. There we go. Now we can see this needs to be brought in a bit more as well, and centered again. Just there. I'm just going to make sure these are both centered together. And now that I've done that, I want to change the text color. So I'm going to use that same color again. I think this needs to be a bit more narrower as well. Okay, that's not too bad. Now, what I'm going to do is make this text a bit smaller. Okay, so I think that's not too bad. I'm starting to think that all of the elements should be in this box, the text, and then my logo and all of the other elements. So what I'm going to do is make the text at the bottom down here the dark color as well. And then I'm going to put that in at the bottom of this box. And then I'm going to do the same with my name. But at the top, I'm just gonna make this a bit bigger. There we go. Now the text, we're going to change the fonts and things. Anyway. In fact, I'll change the fonts now. Let's have a look at a few different fonts that we can use. That one's not too bad. I'm not a fan of that. I want something a bit bolder. Actually, there's a font I've used for a few other designs. So that is I think it's grandeeGrand, but then it needs to be bold, and I don't think this looks completely right. So we're going to adjust the spacing, the line spacing, first of all. We're going to make that 1.2. And the letter spacing, I'm going to decrease ever so slightly. That's too much. Okay, -32. I think that looks okay. And we're going to make the text a bit smaller again. Let's say 70. And sent to this text again. There we go. Okay, so how to design a logo in Canva I'm just trying to see how we can make the text fit best. And what I'm going to do actually whilst I'm doing this is change the font for these top and bottom text bits as well. And I'm going to force them to all be in capitals, I think. Actually, let's use Finn for both of these and make them a bit smaller. And bring that further down, and bring that further up. Let's just try another font option. Let's just make them a bit smaller. I'm just trying to make them fit. It's really what you think looks best. Okay, that's not too bad. We have the right text color for all of these. The border color should be that same brand color as well just to keep up with the branding. Okay, so I bring this down a bit. What I'm going to do is add an image here. But first of all, I'm going to go to elements, and we're going to look for frames, and we'll simply add the circle frame and place that in just here. Yeah, I think that looks much better. And then we can add an image into this frame here. Yeah, this looks good. I'm starting to think this is looking much better now. I might even change the background color. Let's go to backgrounds. Colors. Yeah, I do quite like that. Actually, what we could do is have two templates, one with the white background color and one with the blue. In your Instagram profile, you can use one with the blue background and then one of the white background and switch between them, and it'll make quite a nice grid on your Instagram profile when people are viewing your reels. So that could work quite well. Then let's go ahead and add an image to this frame here. Okay, so I'm just going to use this image here. And let's add a border to this, just like we did previously. And we're going to make the color. We could use the blue or we could use the darker color. I don't think it makes much of a difference. In fact, let's use the blue, just so that we have another color so it can stand out a bit. I think it is looking pretty good, in fact. We are pretty much done. I think I can make this text a little bit smaller. I just don't want design and A in the same line. But I don't want to make in and Canva be on separate lines because then it takes up too much space. Oh, well, I think this is looking fine. Remember, this text is going to be different for every real cover anyway, because it's depending on what the reel is and what you want to have as the heading. We need to make sure it's all centered. So then what we can do is duplicate this and literally just have two templates and one with a different background color. So I think that makes it really nice because then you can switch between them for each reel that you need a cover for. So then we're going to go to the title of the project. Instagram real covers template. It could be InstaramRal cover, template. There we go. And then we have two options, one with the light background and one with the blue background. And I think this is looking pretty good, to be honest. You could always change the text at the top with a logo. You can change any of these elements, really. It is completely up to you, but I'm pretty happy with how this is looking now. So then what you need to do is make sure that it's saved. This will save automatically, as you can see, this little Cloud icon. All changes are saved, and then you can go ahead and download it as well by clicking the Download button, I would use a PNG format and everything else if you don't have Canva premium, so we can ignore all of that and then just go ahead and click the Download button. There we go. We've successfully designed two template options for our IscramRels covers. That is all for this video. I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope to see you in the next one. Once again, thanks and goodbye. 6. Creating Reels Intros and Outros with Canva Animations: In this video, we're going to take your reels to the next level by creating dynamic intros and outtros. Adding animations to your covers can instantly grab attention to keep your audience engaged. I'll guide you through using Canvas powerful animation features to create custom animated reels, intros and outtros that are aligned with your brand. This is going to be super easy. Since we've already created the covers in Canva, we can simply make a copy of this project and then animate it, and that can be your intro and Outro. Now we're going to make a few changes to the designs. It's going to be relatively easy because, of course, we already have this created. So to get started, you want to open the project for your Instagram real cover template. Then you want to go to File and then click onto Make a copy. What we're going to do now is retitle the project to animated Instagram, real, Intro and Outro. There we go, just so that we know what project this is. Now, we have our covers. We're going to animate them so that they are our intros and outtros. So we're going to use this first page here. This will be the intro. Now what we're going to do is click onto it and then click Animate. Now, we don't want to animate the photo. We want to animate the whole page. So click onto the page option, and then we can preview all of the animation options. So simply hover over any of these animations to see what they'll look like. You just need to find one that you think looks good and that will work for you. That one's at that one's not too bad, in fact. I don't mind that one. That one's decent. I like the neon one, but it's a bit too flashy. Pop. That looks pretty good. Fade, I think I'll use for the Otro but Pop, I think that's pretty good. Now we're going to only have this on Enter because it will come into the video and then fade out and your video will start. So then we've got that. Now if we click Play, we can see the intro has been created. Now what I'm going to do is redesign the second page to be the Outro. Now, we can simply add an animation to this, the whole page, and I want to use Fade. Where was fade? Here we go, fade. And we want this to be on exit. In fact, we might want it to be on both because then the Otro will fade in, and then it would also fade out. So yeah, let's have that on both. But what we want to do is make some changes. So we don't need the title in the Otro because they are leaving. Yeah, so what I'm going to do is delete this and I'll duplicate the web address a couple of times. And let's just say we'll add our Instagram username. I'm not actually sure what my username is. And then I Twitter username. And then we can add some elements. We need to use one that is free. Probably the best free one. I'm not actually sure which one the best one would be. We might as well just go with this one here, and then I'll get Twitter as well. Let's see if we can use. If we're going to use a circle for Twitter, we may as well also use the circle Instagram one. That one there. Now we're going to make them both of the same color black, and then make them both very small. Okay, that's not too bad. And then we can have some sort of icon for the web address as well, simply because then it'll fit in better. But we do need to make both of these a bit smaller. And then center them both to the text. And then finally, we can do the same for this one, as well. Okay. Did you mean to select that? We're going to lock this element so that we can accidentally select it. I'm just going to put the longer one in the middle. I think that looks better. It's hard to tell really at this point. Okay, so I'm pretty sure they're all centered. It might even be better to do this slightly differently. We can make them all a bit bigger. Then I'll make this a bit bigger. Because this is the outtrocard. This is just going to be giving them information as they leave. Okay, this sort of works. Now, I would want to change the fonts as well. That might be worth making this text a bit smaller so that they all fit in the same. Okay, I think that's the best we can do for now. I'll make this a little bit bigger again. We do want to make sure that it is properly centered. And so this is sort of an information card now, giving them information as they leave. So what we're going to do now is go ahead and click Animate again. Now, this should already be animated. I don't like how it animates everything. I don't want animation on these elements here. We're going to remove it from those. How can I do that clear animations at the bottom. But is everything else still animated? Yes, it is. Let's view this now. We have the intro, and then we have the outtro as well. Yeah, they definitely weren't centered, but they are now. Okay, that's much better. However, I do think this should have some sort of animation on these, as well, to be fair. So let's just go ahead and animate the whole page again. Okay, that's not too bad. Let's see what this looks like bold. Not a big fan, but if I use Grand instead, this will then be the head. Okay, yeah, that's not too bad. I think we can leave that like that for now. Okay, so you can also add other elements as well. Different graphics. If we go to elements, you can look on here for any elements that you want to add, or you could make the background a video. It is completely up to you. You can add more moving elements since these are going to be videos. This is only going to be like a three or four Max five second intro and Otro. You don't want to take up too much of the time from your video. In fact, probably only one or 2 seconds because it doesn't need to be crazy long, especially the intro. That could be Max free seconds and the outtro it's really just for them to see you other information, but no one's really going to be looking at it. It's just to make it all fit in nicely. Then what you want to do is export your animations as an MP four and then you can go ahead and add them to your Instagram reels before you upload them so that you have the intro, the main content, the outtro, then you'll upload it, you'll add your cover, which we designed in another video and yeah, I think that would all look pretty good. So in order to export it, simply click Share, download MP four video. Now, you probably want to download them separately just to make things easier. So download page one, then go ahead and do the same for page two. Then you have separate files for the intro and for the Outro. So there we go. That is all for this video. We have successfully created animated intro and Otros for your Iscramos. Hope you've enjoyed it, and I hope you've learned something new. I will see you in the next one. Thanks and goodbye. 7. How to Upload and Change Your Reels Cover in Instagram: How to change your Instagram reel cover on a reel that has already been posted. First of all, go to your reel, find the reel that you've already posted on your Instagram profile or feed, tap the free dots in the bottom right hand corner, select Edit from the options, and then tap onto your Instagram cover and click onto the ad from Camera roll button. This will open your gallery, and this is where you need to choose your image for your new cover from the gallery on your phone. Once you've selected the new cover, tap done, and save your changes. So there we go. That is how you can upload and change your Instagram real cover within the Instagram app. That's all for this video. I will see you in the next one. Once again, thanks and goodbye. 8. How to Add Branded Intros and Outros to Your Reels: Come back. Now that you know how to upload and change your Reels cover in Instagram, let's take Vings a step further. In this video, I will show you how to add your custom branded intros and Otros to your reels, making your content even more professional and cohesive with your own branding. Intros and Otros are your chance to make a strong first impression and leave your audience with a memorable final touch. By adding a custom intro and Otro, you'll enhance your branding, encourage viewers to take action like following you or visiting your website, and you'll increase your brand recognition. Once you have designed your intro and Otros within Canva, downloaded them, and then downloaded them to your phone, you'll be ready to upload them to your reels. In order to add your intro and Otros to your reels in Instagram, what you want to do is first of all, of course, open the Instagram app. Then click on to the plus icon to create a new post. After that, you're going to select reels from the drop down of options, and this is where you can then select the content for your reel. We're going to select multiple files here. We're going to select our intro, our tro, and the real. Then once you have selected your contents, click Next. Now it's asked me if I want to add music. I do not want to, so I'm going to skip that And here we have the editor for reels within Instagram. So it's actually added my content the wrong way round. It's added the intro and the Otro and then the main content. We want the outtro to be last. So we're going to click onto the Otro, and we're going to reorder it so that the outtro is last. So now we're going to mute it and we're going to preview it. So the intro plays. We don't want it to play too long, so we're just going to shorten it down. And let's play it again. And then we have the main content, which is just a random video. And now we want to add something so that it will transition into the outtro from the main content. So let's choose a transition. We have a few different options within Instagram. I'm just going to select the one I think looks the best. Let's go with blur, and there we go. Let's play this just to see how it transitions. That looks fantastic. And then the animation we added, as you can see, it fades out at the end. I just realized that I added the wrong Outro. So I'm just going to replace that clip with the right outtro clip that we designed, and now we can preview it again. That looks fantastic, it should all fade away as well at the end, and there we go. That's perfect. Then once you're happy, just click the arrow at the top right. Then you can add your own custom caption and add any hashtags. Don't forget to add your cover as well. Now because we have the cover in the intro, we could just use that one, but we're going to add our own custom cover using the ad from Camera button, and there we go. Now once you're happy with everything, you're ready to click Share to post your reel onto Instagram. Then if you refresh your profile, you'll see the real has been added. You can see the custom real cover, and then if we click onto it, we can see the intro and if we swipe to the end, we can see the outtro at the end as well. There we go. That is all. For the video, we have successfully added our own branded intros and outtros to our reels in Instagram. 9. Previewing Your Reels Grid for Cohesive Branding: Welcome back. In this video, I will show you a super helpful trick for maintaining a cohesive look across all your reels. We're talking about previewing your Reels grid to ensure everything flows together perfectly, and your Instagram profile has a clean branded look. So let's dive in. Why does your Instagram Reels grid matter? Your Instagram grid is the first thing people see when they visit your profile. If your grid looks chaotic or mismatched, you might lose potential followers or engagement. Maintaining a cohesive look is important for branding. It helps viewers understand your message, your style, and your aesthetic. You can actually use Canva to preview how your real covers look when posted in your grid. All you need to do is design a few different reels covers that you want to use, or even these could be multiple styles of templates you have made, save them, and then upload them into a Canva project. This allows you to simulate how the covers will look together on your Instagram profile. So let's go through a step by step process. First of all, you want to create a new project with a custom size of 1080 by 1920 pixels. Then you can either do this a simple way by simply uploading your Reels covers straight to this project, or you can do what I've done, which is take a screenshot on your phone on the Instagram Reels page of your Instagram account. Now I have used another account for my screenshot, but that doesn't really matter. What you need to do is then upload the screenshot that you have taken. So here you can see the screenshot. It is the Android profile on Instagram. And I've actually taken two different screenshots, one just of the Reels page, and one of the whole Instagram profile. So now we're simply going to make this bigger until it fits into the project. There we go. As you can see, this looks fantastic. Let's do this again for this one. I need to make it a little bigger. There we go. So now we have two Instagram screenshots of the Instagram Reels page. Then all you need to do is upload the different designs for your Instagram reels covers, and then we have a mock up grid. So this allows you to preview how they'll look. So let's go ahead and add our two designs. We have the blue one needs to be slightly bigger. You can zoom in to make sure it's perfect. It doesn't have to be absolutely perfect anyway, but you know what I mean? Then zoom back out. Then we're just going to make this one the same size, put it next to the first one and then drag it across and then center it and there we go. Then we can copy the first one and paste it and put it on the right, and copy the second one. And just keep copying them. I'm going to have to zoom in again so that they cover perfectly. There we go. And then I'll copy this one again and put it just there. Then I can copy the first three together and put them just there. There we go. We have this preview, and if I copy all of these, in fact, I only need to copy the first six and bring them down here. And just like that, we can preview how your InscramRels will look like on your Instagram page so we can see the layout. Now, it's important to keep consistency in your grid. If you notice any major inconsistencies like clashing colors, unbalanced layouts, or too many similar designs in a row, this is when you can tweak them. Consistency in your reels covers colors and fonts will ensure your Iscram grid looks professional and polished. You're not happy with the way the reels look in the mockup, you can go back to the project for each of these real template designs and make any adjustments. After making your changes, you can simply upload them to this mockup again, and then you can preview how the grid will look and repeat until everything aligns with how you want it to look. Once you've settled on a cohesive look, you can create a style guide for your Instagram posts and real covers. This way, future designs will stay consistent without needing to preview them every time. So there we go. That is it. That is how you can preview your Instagram reels grid within Canva. All for the video. I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you in the next one. Once again, thanks and goodbye. 10. Saving Your Reels Templates for Easy Reuse: In this video, I will show you how to save your Canva templates so that you can easily reuse them for future projects. Trust me, this little tip is a game changer when you're crunched for time and want to keep your content consistent. When you're designing reels, you will likely want to maintain consistency across all your videos. Reusing templates allows you to do just that without starting from scratch every time. Templates save time, help you stay on brand, and ensure your content looks professional. You want to start by creating your template. This could be for your real cover, your intro or your outtro, anything you want to create. Once you've done that, you want to make sure your project has been saved. Just like you can see, this one, it's automatically saved, as you can see at the top up here. Now, this is my real cover template, and I have two different designs here. We have the light background and the blue background so that we can switch it up and make the Instagram grid look better. You want to reuse your templates, you don't just want to redesign one of these because then you could have errors, you could end up losing it. You can make too many changes and you no longer have your template. You have two options for what you should do instead. You can either duplicate the page that you want to change so that you always have the original template, or you can go to File and make a copy. This will create a brand new project. That is the exact same project. It just means that you haven't changed the original, so you always have the original template that you've created, but you can then make any changes to the copy that you have made. So then if you go back to your Canva dashboard, all you need to do is go to projects or recent designs on your dashboard, and then you can access your copy or your original template, and you can make a new copy or use the copy that you've already created. That way, like I said, you've always got the original template that you created so that you'll never lose it. If you're working on multiple styles for your reels, this could be branded intros, cover designs, outtros and so on. It's a good idea to create separate folders so that you can organize them. So if we go to the projects tab, we can create a folder. Let's click Add Nu and folder, and we can call it Instagram Reels Cover template and then click Continue. You can also share this with other users if you want to. And now we have a folder, and we can add all of the Instagram real cover templates that you've created to this folder. That way, it keeps your projects nice and organized so that you can find them nice and easily. So there you go. That is all for this video. That is how you can save your real templates for easy reuse within Canva. I hope you enjoyed this video, and I will see you in the next one. Thanks, and goodbye. 11. Class Project: Now that you've learned all the essential tips and techniques for designing your Instagram Reels branding kit, it's time to put everything together in a final project. In this video, I'll guide you through creating your very own branded Reels cover. So let's turn your new skills into a real world professional project. So I want you to, first of all, choose whether you are going to use a template or start from scratch. If you're going to use a template, you want to make sure that it is the right dimensions, which is 1080 by 1920 pixels. Are a ton of premade templates available in Canva, so you can simply search through them until you find one that you like. Step two, add your branding elements like your logo, color palette, and fonts. If you have a brand kit set up in Canva, this will make everything a lot quicker. But if you don't worry, simply go ahead and add all of your branding. Start with your logo placement usually at the top or bottom of the design, then apply your color palette, the background, and text to ensure brand consistency. Step three, design your cover. Now it's time to design your Reels cover template. Keep the text short and sweet with the title or hook of your video being the focal point. Use the right font size and make sure that the text is readable. Try adding a simple background image or color that complements your text. Avoid clutter. Your cover should be easy to read at a glance, especially on mobile. And finally, step four, export your design. Once you're happy with your design, it is time to export it. Make sure to save your files in the right format, preferably mp four for videos and PNG for static images. Now you want to make sure that you have saved your Reels cover to your phone, and then you can upload it to Instagram on your Instagram reels. You will need to change it for every reel so that you have the right text, color schemes, and so on for each of your reels. So there you go. That's it. You have just created your very own branded Reels cover. This will help make your Instagram reels stand out and keep your brand consistent across all your videos. Forget to reuse your template for all of your Instagram reels. This will save you time and maintain the professional look on your Instagram page. So that is it for the project. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you learned a lot, and I will see you in the next one. Thanks and goodbye. 12. Class Conclusion: Congratulations. You have completed the Instagram reels branding kit with Canva class.
