1. Introduction: Hi there. Welcome to this new course on
Instagram stories. Now, my name is Jeff and in
this course I'll be teaching you how to maximize your
Instagram story views. Now before getting
into this video, let me give you a small
introduction of myself. Now who am I to teach you
about Instagram stories? Well, for starters,
I've been growing a Christian brand on Instagram
called Strength in Prayer. And as you can see
on the screen, it is having around
35,000 followers. So I've grown my Instagram
page organically from zero followers to
35,000 followers. So I kind of know all kinds of tricks and tips on Instagram. And in this course, I'll be focusing only on
Instagram stories. Now, I've also worked with
a few companies to build their digital marketing and social media marketing strategies
for their brand growth. So I hope that was a satisfying
introduction of myself. Now let's get into this video
and let us see what are we going to learn on this
course now as you can see, I've shown the table of
contents of the course. You can ask yourself, what will I learn
from this course? And my reply to that
question would be, this course contains
four videos. Now, in the first video,
I'll be giving you an introduction to
Instagram stories and we'll be taking a look at few aspects of Instagram
stories over there. In the second video, I'll be
showing you how to maximize your story views using certain tricks of
Instagram stories. And moving on to
the third video, I'll be showing you how to
use Instagram hashtags on Instagram stories and
we'll be looking at how to find the right hashtags for your Instagram stories. Now in the final video, I'll be giving you a few extra
tips on Instagram stories. And by that, we'll be
concluding the scores. Now to summarize what
we'll be focusing on the scores to maximize
your story views, I have three points for you. The first point is
that we'll try to understand how does the
Instagram algorithm works. And secondly, I'll be showing
you how to understand the behavior of your audience to maximize your story reviews. And last but not the least, we'll be taking a look at
few Instagram story features that can help you to maximize your Instagram story reviews. Now I hope you're excited to learn about Instagram stories. So what are you waiting for? I will see you in the course.
2. Introduction to Instagram Stories: Hi there. Welcome to this new course on
Instagram stories. Now, my name is Jeff and in
this course I'll be showing you how to maximize your
Instagram story views. Now on the screen you can
see the table of contents. And as mentioned, there are
four videos in this course. In the first video
that is this video, I'll be giving you a
small introduction to Instagram stories. And in the second
video, we'll dig a bit deeper and we
learn to maximize our story views by
understanding how the Instagram algorithm
works for Instagram stories. And after that, in
the third video, we'll be taking a look
at how to use Instagram hashtags to maximize
our story views. And in the last and final video, I'll be giving you
a few more tips to effectively use your Instagram
stories. Okay, great. Now let's get into this
introductory video. Now, I believe that
the story feature was first introduced
on Snapchat. So it's a feature
where you can post your images or videos
to your audience. And it stays there for 24 hours and then it
automatically goes away. So on the screen I've shown you an image of Snapchat stories. Now after this feature was
introduced on Snapchat, what happened was other
social media sites and apps started to introduce the speature on their platforms. Now on the screen,
I've shown you how the story feature looks
like for Facebook. So you can see on the
left that there are stories put up by
a lot of people. And if you click on
one of those stories, you will see what is
on the right image. And you can see this is how the story feature looks
like for Facebook. Now one interesting
thing that is worth noting here is that
platforms such as Linden and Twitter did introduce this feature to
their apps and websites. So the story feature on Linden
was called Linden Stories, and the story feature on
Twitter were called fleets. But fortunately
or unfortunately, both Linden and
Twitter announced that they were taking
down the story feature. And it's been few
months since both of these platforms took
down the feature. Okay, now we just talked about the story features on other
platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, Linden,
Twitter, et cetera. But let's shift our focus
onto Instagram stories. So this is how the
Instagram story looks like. Now we have a goldish or a purplish colored circle around people's
Instagram stories. Now this feature was
introduced so that people can share their
pictures with your friends, but if you're someone who's
trying to build a brand, or if you're someone
who's trying to build your Instagram followers
to a huge number, then from a marketer's
perspective, this feature is really
helpful to communicate and build a trustworthy
connection with your audience. So this feature helps to
create a first impression for a new person who is visiting your profile for the
very first time. Now you might be
wondering, how does it create a first impression on a new person who is visiting your Instagram profile.
Well, I'll show you how. Now imagine that I've
posted a funny comment on a famous influencers
or celebrities post. So a lot of people would be
reading my comment, right? So when people read
your comments, they are going to see
that orange circle around your profile picture. And I've shown you an
example of a comment with that story circle around
their profile picture. So I think it's a
psychological factor that people really
get tempted to click onto that orange circle and view your Instagram stories. So that's how you create
a first impression on a new user who's visiting your profile for the
very first time. So people are very, very curious to know what you have put on your
Instagram stories. So that is why I would
tell people to post quality comments on
Instagram stories. Because if a new
person comes to visit your Instagram page and
when they see your stories, if they like your stories, then they would definitely
give you a photo. Okay, now another
important feature of Instagram stories is the
Instagram story highlights. Now, if you don't know what an Instagram story highlight is, as I've told you earlier, you can post your Instagram
stories only up to 24 hours. And after 24 hours, it
automatically disappears. But with this feature of
Instagram highlights, you can keep your
Instagram stories on a profile as
long as you like. Now on the screen,
I've shown you an example of Instagram
story highlights. This is how the Instagram
story highlight looks like on your
Instagram profile. So you can see that
this is an account called Design Perspective. And they have highlights
on design tips, be creative, IG tips, guest post, et cetera. So they have given a cover photo for each of their
Instagram highlights. Now if you're having a
tough time trying to design a cover photo for your
Instagram story highlights, I have an EC method for you. All you have to do is that you have to go to a site called Canva.com and I'll be putting the link to that site in the resources section
of this course. All you have to do is
that you have to go to Canva.com and after go into Canvard.com you have
to search Instagram story highlights in the
search engine of Canva. And after searching that, you
can choose a template from hundreds of templates available for your Instagram
story highlights. And all you have to
do is that you just have to edit a template that matches your Instagram account
or your Instagram niche. Now, if you're struggling
to find icons for your Instagram story
highlights, don't worry. I have two website
suggestions for you. And those two websites are
flat icons and icon finder. I'll be putting the
link to that site in the resources
section of the course. And all you have to do is
that you have to go to the resources section and
check out these links. By that, we'll be wrapping up this introductory
video of the course, and I'll be seeing you
in the next video.
3. Maximize Your Story Views: Hi there. Welcome to another
video of this course. Now in this video,
we'll be taking a look at how to maximize
your story views. Okay, now the first
thing that I want you to note here is that I used the word maximize and
not the word increase. So I said how to maximize your story views and how to
increase your story views. So there is a specific
reason why I used the word maximize instead
of the word increase. So let me try to make you understand that
particular reason. Now as you can see
on the screen, only 5% to 10% of your followers view
your Instagram stories. So if the big box
that you see on the screen is the total number of followers that you have, then the small box represents the number of followers
who view your content. And I'm pretty sure
that if you're a frequent Instagram user, you might have
noticed this thing, that not all of
your followers are going to view your
Instagram stories. Now for example, if you
look at the screen, if you have around
1,000 followers, your stories might only receive
around 300 to 400 views. And if you have around
10,000 followers, your stories might receive
around 1,000 plus views. And if you have
100,000 followers, then your stories might
receive around 10,000 views. So this is the thing
that I want you to note. Only five to 10% of your followers are going to
view your Instagram stories. Now, I used the phrase, maximize your story
views instead of increase your story
views because we're actually trying to
maximize the number of your followers who view
your Instagram stories. So for example, say only 200 of your followers view your
Instagram stories on average. What we are going
to do is that we are going to try to maximize that number to say around 300 followers
or say 350 followers. So I hope you got the idea
of what we're going to do. We're going to maximize
your story views from the normal average
that you usually get. Okay, great. Now to
maximize history views, the first thing that
you need to know is how does the Instagram
algorithm works? Now as you can see
on the screen, this is how the Instagram
algorithm works. On the top, you
can see that when you post an Instagram story, the Instagram algorithm shows your story to a few
of your followers. After showing your content
to a few of your followers, the Instagram algorithm checks
for content interaction if your followers are interacting
with your content and if the Instagram algorithm
detects high interaction, what is going to happen is that the Instagram algorithm shows your conent to more
and more people. But if it is the
other case where you don't receive
much of interaction, what is going to happen is
that the Instagram algorithm will stop showing it to
more and more people. So the key factor
here is that you have to gain more and
more interaction from your followers to maximize or increase your story views
or your content reach. So that is the key
thing. You have to create interactions
on your content. So now the next thing that you might be wondering is how to make people interact with
your Instagram stories? Well, there are two main tricks that I have in store for you to make your audience interact with your
Instagram stories. So let's take a look
at the first trick to make people interact with
your Instagram stories. And that trick is to use the
interactive story features. Now you might be wondering, what are those interactive
story features? And as you can see
on the screen, those interactive story features are the Instagram
story stickers. And I'm pretty sure
that most of you have seen these Instagram
story stickers. But there are certain
story stickers that you have to take note of because those certain story
stickers make your audience interact with
your Instagram stories. And some examples of those interactive story
stickers are the sliders, the quizzes, the polls. So when you use a slider or a quiz or a poll on
Instagram story, what's going to happen is that your audience are going to see your Instagram story
and they're going to respond to a slider
by sliding on it. Or if it's a poll, they're
going to answer the poll. Or if it's a quiz, they're
going to answer the quiz. So that's going to
make the Instagram algorithm detect a huge
number of engagements, and in turn, it's
going to show it to more and more people and you are going to maximize
your story views. So that is the first trick
that I have for you. You have to use the
Instagram story stickers, and especially you have to use the interactive
story stickers, which makes your
audience engage with your Instagram stories to
maximize your story views. Now the second trick that I have for you to make your
audience interact with your Instagram stories is
to post quality content. So when you post
quality content, what is going to happen
is that your audience are going to interact
with your stories. So you might be wondering, how are they going to
interact with my stories? Well, there are options to
like your Instagram story, then there's the option to
reply to your Instagram story. And lastly, you have
the option to reshare your Instagram story so when
your content is off top, not what's going
to happen is that you're going to get a
lot of story replies and also people are going to like your stories and also they're going to reshare
it with their friends. So I hope you'll re posting top, not quality stories so that your audience would reply
to you like your story, as well as reshare your
stories to their friends. So I hope those
two tricks to make your audience interact with your stories are clear to you. And by that, we're
concluding this video. And on the next video, we'll
be taking a look at hashtags on Instagram stories to
maximize your story views. I'll see you over there.
4. How to Use Hashtags On Stories?: Hi there. Welcome back to
another video of this course. Now in this video, we'll
dig a bit deeper and learn about hashtags
on Instagram stories. Now, if you're not familiar
with what a hashtag is, a hashtag is a word
or a phrase that you write by putting the hash
symbol in front of that word. Now on the screen you can
see hashtag, anything. So this is one
example of a hashtag. Now you might be wondering, why should I use a
hashtag on my contents? Well, the thing is that
in the case of Instagram, hashtags play a very important
role in gaining followers because a huge number
of people are going to see your contents
through those hashtags. Now, as you can see on
the screen on Instagram, you have a feature of
following those hashtags. So people are going to
follow a lot of hashtag, and when you use those hashtag, people are going to see your contents through
those hashtags. Now that is the reason why
you should use hashtags. A lot of people would be
following a lot of hashtags. Now, there are a few
things that you have to keep in mind before
writing a hashtag. And now, as you can
see on the screen, I have the dose and the
dones of writing a hashtag. So what I'm trying to
do is that I'm going to type a hashtag,
hashtag, happy life. And on the left side you can see the right ways or the dose
of writing a hashtag. Now as you can see, just below that green hashtag happy life without a space is a right way of writing the
hashtag happy life. And just below that,
you can see that hashtag happy underscore life is also a right way of writing
a hashtag happy life. Now on the right side, you can see the wrong way of writing a hashtag and the
first wrong way to write a hashtag
is hashtag happy. Then you're leaving a space,
then you're writing life. So that wouldn't be a hashtag
for hashtag happy life, it would just be a hashtag
for hashtag happy, using space is not
permitted in a hashtag. Now the second
wrong way to write a hashtag is hashtag happy, then you're putting a dot, then you're putting life, then that is also a
wrong way to write hashtag happy life
because that would be considered as hashtag happy only and not
hashtag happy life. So I hope I could give you a
few syndaxes on how to write a hashtag and I hope
this would help you to correct your errors to
find the right hashtag. Okay. Now the next question that we're going to look into is, how many hashtags can you use
on your Instagram stories? Well, on a normal
Instagram post you can use a maximum of 30 hashtags, and on an Instagram reel you can post a maximum of 30 hashtags. But on an Instagram story, you can only use a
maximum of ten hashtags. So now you might be wondering how can someone know that we can only use ten hashtags
on our Instagram stories. Well, I'll show you how. Now as you can see
on the screen, I'm going to post
an Instagram story. Now at the top you can
see that plus icon. So you have to click
on that plus icon. And at the bottom you
have that Story option. You have to choose
that Story option in order to post an
Instagram story. So just after choosing that
Instagram story option, what I'm going to do
is that I'm going to start typing those hashtags. And you can see that I've
typed the first hashtag, and that is hashtag one. And you can see that
after I typed my hashtag, that is hashtag one. You can see that Instagram has suggested a few hashtags below. And the first suggestion
would be the hashtag that I've typed or the hashtag
that I want to type. So I clicked on the hashtag one that was suggested
to me by Instagram. And after clicking
on that hashtag one that was suggested
to me by Instagram, you will see that my hashtag
was underlined at the top. Now what I'm going to
do is that I'll be going to type hashtags,
numbering them. Hashtag one, hashtag two, hashtag three, and so on. Okay. After numbering
around ten hashtags, you can see that I've typed
my 11th hashtag, hashtag 11. So if you noticed only
the first ten hashtags are underlined and the 11th
hashtag isn't underlined. Now this is because only
the first ten hashtags work on your Instagram stories. And that is the reason why only first ten hashtags
are underlined. And the 11th hashtag
isn't suggested by Instagram nor
is it underlined. So that is the reason
why I told you only ten hashtags
are going to work. So if you're typing a hashtag, make sure that it is underlined. I really hope that
you understood what we have seen about
hashtags so far. And if you have any doubts regarding what we
have seen so far, feel free to ask me in the Q and A section and I'll
be there to help you. Now, we have seen that only ten hashtags work on our
Instagram story. Well, the next question is, how do we find the
right hashtags for our Instagram stories? Well, the answer is that there
are two types of hashtags. The first type is the
post specific hashtags, and the second type is the
niche specific hashtags. Now I've shown you an
example on the screen. This is an account
related to technology. So the need specific hashtags
that I'm going to search for would be related to
technology, tech, et cetera. And just below that,
I've shown you an example of a post
specific hashtag. So what is a post
specific hashtag? You can see that
the latest post by this account was top
nine editing apps. So when I post this content related to top
nine editing apps, what I'm going to do
is that I'm going to search for hashtags
related to editing apps. So those would be qualified
as post specific hashtags. So I hope you understood what
is the difference between a need specific hashtag as well as post
specific hashtags. So what you're
going to do is that you just have to search for five need specific hashtags and five post specific hashtags. So if you're wondering how
to search for hashtags, all you have to do is
that you have to go to the search engine
of Instagram, and at the top you
have a tax section. You just have to
type in a keyword. And you're going to get a lot of hashtags related
to that keyword. So the key factor to find the
right hashtags is to find the right keywords to search on your Instagram search engine
under the tax section. Now let me give you an
example of keywords. Imagine that I have
an Instagram page where I post
motivational quotes. So my niche is
motivational quotes. So you can see that
I'd be searching for keywords related to
motivation or motivational. Then I'll be searching
for keywords related to success quotes, hard work growth, et cetera. So I'll be using these
keywords to search for hashtags related to
motivational quotes. And on the right side,
you can see that I wouldn't be searching for
Happiness, Bliss, Journey. Because those kinds
of hashtags does not have any relation
to motivational quotes. And those are spammy tags, which a lot of people
use unnecessarily. And we don't want to use
those kinds of spammy tags. So try to search for
knee specific or post specific hashtags and find out five knee specific hashtags. And find out five post
specific hashtags and use it on our
Instagram stories. Now let's combine all the Instagram story
techniques that we have learned so far to maximize
our Instagram story views. Now as you can see
on the screen, I'm going to post
an Instagram story. And the post says, if you can face
great fears in life, nothing can stop you. And just below that, what
you can see is that I've posted a poll and you can
see there's 100 emogy. Then there's a negative emogy. That was the first trick that we have learned from
our last video. And that is to use Instagram
Interactive Story feature. And I've used a poll. And the top you can see that
I've used the location tag. For now, I'm not going to
talk about location tags, I'll be talking about
them in the next video. Let's move on to hashtags. Now you can see that I've found ten hashtags related to motivation and all
those kinds of things, and I've manually
typed them down using the create feature on
my Instagram story. And after typing
all those hashtags, what's going to
happen is that if you just put it on
your Instagram story, it is going to be
really, really messy. So what we're going
to do is that we're going to
hide our Instagram hashtags so that
your audience is not going to feel a mess
on your Instagram story. So there are two ways to hide your Instagram story hashtags, and the first way is to just camouflage it using
your Instagram post. So you can see that
I've camouflaged my Instagram hashtags by making them has the same color
as my Instagram post. So my Instagram
followers are not going to notice those
hashtags over there. And the second way to idea Instagram hashtags is just by
throwing them to the side. And you can see that I've thrown my Instagram hashtags
to the side. And they're going to
be hidden over there. And they're going to work, but your Instagram audience
are not going to see them. And your story looks
clean and tidy. So I hope you
understood how to idea Instagram hashtags
and I hope you understood how to find
the right hashtags for your Instagram stories to
maximize your story views. Now that would be the
end of this video. And on the next video,
I'll be giving you a few more extra tips
on Instagram stories. I'll see you over there.
5. Final Tips: Hi there. Welcome back. Currently we are in the
last video of this course. And in this video I'll be
giving you a few tips about Instagram story views that I've personally seen
over the years. So let's get started. Okay, now the first
tip that I want to give you is that polls bring the most story views among the interactive features
that I've told you about. So as I've said in
the previous videos, in order to maximize
your story views, you have to use the
Instagram story features that makes your audience
engage with your stories. And we've seen that the most commonly engaging story features are Instagram sliders, Instagram story quizzes, and
the Instagram story polls. So when you use these
Instagram story features, you're going to notice
that more number of people are viewing your
Instagram stories. But the point of this first tip is that when you use polls, I personally notice that polls bring the
maximum number of story views compared
to quizzes or sliders or any other
Instagram story features. So that's my first tip. Try to use more of polls in your Instagram stories and you'll notice that
more people are viewing your Instagram stories compared to the time when you didn't use Instagram polls
on your Instagram stories. Okay, great. Now let's move on to the second tip that I
have in store for you. And the second tip is to use the create mode when you
have something to write. Now the point is that I've noticed more number
of people viewing my Instagram stories when I type something using
this create mode. Now if you ask me why, my only answer would be that is how the Instagram
algorithm works. Just try using this create mode on your Instagram
stories and let me know how it goes for you
in the Q and A section. Now, I personally think
that when you write a long paragraph or something
using this create mode, it kind of gives a
special feeling to your audience that you are
directly talking to them. As compared to just resharing someone else's post or just uploading a post
from your gallery. So I hope you'll be using this picture and let us
move on to the next tip. Okay, Now the third tip is something that I've
shown you in one of the previous videos and that
is to use the location tag. So the point of using the location tag is
that a lot of people will come to see your
Instagram stories through that location tag. So if you want more
number of story views, just use that location tag
in your Instagram stories. Now, your Instagram stories
can get really messy with all of those location tags and all of those hash tags. Right? So what I'll
be doing is that I'll be taking that
location tag and I'll just move it to the side
and your photo Oers won't even know that such
a location tag exists. And that is one trick that
I'd love to see you use, and I hope you'll be using the trick to gain more
and more story views. Okay, great. Now
let's move on to the fourth tip that
I have for you. And the fourth tip
is that when you have multiple stories to post, post them with a gap
of one to 5 hours. So as you can see on the screen, I've shown you a story that
has posted multiple pictures. Now the tip is to not post all of those stories right away. Post one story now and post the second story after
1 hour, or say 2 hours. And post the third story. And after 12 hour, post the first story and so on. Now the thing that I'm trying
to con me over here is that when you have a
train of stories to post, people are just going to skip your stories after just
viewing the first story. So if you post with a gap of one to 5 hours
between each story, then it increases the chance of your followers viewing
all of your stories. So I hope you understood
why I told you to leave a gap of
one to 5 hours when you're posting more
than one story or when you're posting
a train of stories. Okay, now it's time to
move on to the fifth tip. Now the fifth tip is to
use the questions sticker. So for those of you
who hasn't seen the question sticker or doesn't know what the
question sticker is, it is a feature where your
audience can respond to a question or a statement that you post on your
Instagram story. So I've circled the questions feature on the screen
and on the right side, you can see how your
audience view it. When they see the
sticker, what they're going to do is that
they're going to type something and what's going to happen after they have typed
their question is that you are going to
receive a notification and you can respond to those questions on
your Instagram stories by typing something
using the Create mode. And by doing that,
you're actually building a connection
with your audience. And I believe that building a strong personal
connection with your audience is a key to monetize your Instagram account. So that's one reason you have to use this questions feature. And that reason is
that your audience can get to know more
about yourself and about your Instagram
page and why you have started your
Instagram page, et cetera. So I hope you'll be
using the feature to build a strong connection
with your followers and it will help you to build your Instagram account as well
as to monetize it. Great. Now let's move on to
the last and final tip that I have in store for you. And the last and final tip that I have in store for you is that sharing Instagram reels or Instagram videos
for that matter, on your Instagram stories would not gain much story views. So whenever you're posting an Instagram reel or whenever
you are trying to re share someone else's Instagram reel on your Instagram story, What happens is that since
Instagram reels are videos, it's going to take a lot of time for them to load and
they're just going to skip your Instagram
stories rather than wait for your
Instagram story to load. So my point is just know that the number of
people who are going to view that particular
Instagram story is going to be
really, really low. I hope you understood
this point. And those were the six tips
that I have in store for you. And I hope you really
like this video, and I hope you'll be using these tips on Instagram stories. And by that, we are wrapping up this course and I hope
you enjoyed this course. And I hope this course
will help you to maximize your story
views. Thank you.
