1. Introduction: Hi guys, my name is Peter and I am a YouTube. We're making YouTube videos for the past six years. And during the majority part of my Youtube life, I have been making YouTube videos just using a smartphone. And in this culture class, I'm going to share how you can shoot better video using a smart phone. I will be talking about all the basic and important things that you guys need to know before shooting a video. So guys, we will start off with the basic camera settings that you need to understand and implement before shooting a video. After that, we will learn about locking exposure and locking focus. Then we will learn about in camera movements or our camera motion and how camera motions can make your video more engaging and interacting with their audience. Then we will talk about tasks, the law motion, What are the most important thing that you need to consider before shooting a slow-motion video, what are the necessary steps that you need to take me for shooting a slow-motion video. Finally, we will also learn about how we can unleash the complete potential of our smartphones camera and basically exploit the gambling potential out of it and shoot better video. So Guys, Finally, you can implement all these things together. I'm sure much better and smoother videos than before. And trust me guys, you will learn a lot of basic things that you can right away implement in your videos and shoot myself later videos. So that's it, guys. Thanks for watching, and I hope to see you guys soon. 2. Basic camera settings: Hi guys. In this video, let us talk about the basic camera settings that you need to configure before shooting a video. And most importantly, before shooting any video, make sure that your camera lens is clean. That is, you can clean your camera lens using a microfiber cloth or any sort of clean cloth so that the camera's sensor can absorb the most amount of light without any blog cage. For a ma, the desk particles that resides on the camera glass. Make sure that before shooting NAV DO your camera glass or camera lenses basically clean. So guys, there are two basic gammas. Adding STATA you need to configure before shooting a video number one resolution. Nowadays, almost all smartphones can shoot all the way till four k. If you go to camera's settings, you can see an option where in you can change the resolution. If your smartphone can shoot at 4K, I always suggest you guys to shoot at 4K because there is a lot of advantage in shooting at four, gave the number one advantage in shooting at for a taste that you will be having the flexibility to zoom in a lot more to your video without losing much of equality. This is a really big advantage in shooting at 40K. Secondly, when your downgrade your foreign KV due to ten ADP, that tended to be B, D will be more crisp and sharp when compared to that of the 4K video. It is because for KV dues are really rich in pixels. So we knew the Oden good aid, F4 key video to 1080 P. All these pixels are compressed to that DNA to be video. So that makes it an ADB video more sharpening the 4K video. Certainly we are also having a lot of disadvantage in shooting. And for k, the number one disadvantage is that four KB dose are really large incise when compared to that of HD videos. So if you're really low on storage, it is not at all preferred. Shoot at 4K. Secondly, you also need a really powerful machine to edit 4K videos. So there is no point in shooting at 4K wherein you do not have a powerful machine to edit the 4K videos. So these are the two major disadvantage in shooting and 4K currently, I'm shooting at an ADP 30 FPS because I'm really low on storage. So if you don't have the flexibility to shoot that for k, it is no problem in shooting Internet to be Asbell. So guys, the second basic cameras setting that I need to change is FPS. Fps stands for frames per second. For example, if you are shooting at 30 FPS, your camera is capturing 30 frames per second. And when these frames are played individually, that makes a video. So this is the basic definition of FPS. So if ps plays a really important role in achieving the desired VD0 that you want. For example, if your undershoot as cinematic video 24 frames per second, the suggested, because almost all the movies are shorter, 24 frames per second. 24 frames per second provides a lot more naturality to the video. And make sure that when issued at 21st PS, you have proper stabilization. If you want a bit of slow motion, you need to hire up body frame rate like 60 FPS, 1.and FPS and more. And we will be talking about slow motion in detail in the upcoming videos. So depending on the requirement or situation you need to change are the FPS. So guys, right now, I'm shooting at 30 FPS because I'm shooting an arrow. That is, I am talking to the camera. There is not a lot of camera motion. So I wanted to be to, to be as natural as possible. So that's why I'm shooting into the least if P is possible, that is 30 FPS. So FPS is a really important aspect that you need to change based on your situation and requirement. So guys, right now, we are done with the basic camera settings. And now let us talk about a basic aspect known as conversation. Columbus region. In symbol words are the grids that you can enable in your camera application. And press me guys, enabling these grids can help you showed your videos in a much better and meaningful manner. Whenever I shoot a video, I tried to implement a rule known as rule of the awardees, rule of third, ascendancy from the great be half called for different intersection point. And whenever you give importance to one of these intersection point, that basically makes up the rule of third. And right now let us look over some examples. So right now let us look at the example of the Austrian, right now, it is centered in the horizon. When I bring it a bit down here, you can see that at the shortest looking much better right now, let us take the example of this particular character. Right now it is in the dead center. And when I focus the third intersection towards highs, it, you can see that the, the shortest DO give much better right now. Basically, implementing the rule of third makes the video more strong and more meaningful in a lot of different aspects. So that's it, guys. Resolution and FPS are the two basic camera sitting data you need to configure before shooting any video. And thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys in the next video. 3. Focus and Exposure Lock: Hi guys. In this video, let us talk about focus and exposure. Look. Whenever you're shooting a video and when you want to focus to a particular object, you can simply tap on the screen and your camera basically focuses to that particular object. When you tap and hold on the screen, you can see that the camera basically fixes the focus to that particular position. That is, even if you move the object area from the camera, you can see that the camera focus is fixed to the same point where you have locked defocus. So this is known as focused. And it close to the focus box, you can see a slider. Lighter is known as the exporter slider, wherein you can adjust the exposure by moving the slider up or down. And the exposure will be fixed at the exact same point. Very Howe said this slider to be, For example, if you're shooting a video office till object, you don't want to lose defocus, nor you don't want the exposure to go up and down and make the v z. In that case, you can fix the exposure as well as the focus to get a much better video. And guys, one really important thing that I unit to consider is that whenever we are shooting a video of a moving object, never locked defocus. Instead, you can simply tap on the screen and focus to that object, but never locked defocus instead again, basically locked the exposure and adjust the exposure based on the enemy on menu or shooting it. So these are the important thing that you need to consider that is focused as well as expulsion. Luke and I can implement these inserted situation to make a video much better. 4. In-Camera Motion: Hi guys. In this video, let us talk about camera motions. So guys, having some sort of camera movements are basically any sort of movements individual can make your video more engaging and again, provide a different perspective, view office object. Nobody likes to watch a video in which a person is talking to a camera for a long period of time, right? And you can provide the relative information like a screenshot or a relative video. So, thank you, video more interesting and have a bit of more interaction with the audience. In that case, camera movements can come in really handy. How do I achieve some really good camera motion? The most ECS and common way to obtain a camera motion is to shoot your videos handheld. The advantage is that you'll be able to obtain some really natural time seizures if you shoot a vidoes handheld. But if a smartphone do not have any sort of stabilization, you need to be extra careful while shooting handheld video. A really cool tip that you can implement while shooting handheld PDAs, that whenever you're shooting a video, tried to hold your smartphone close to you. By that, you can reduce the amount of a shake that has been transferred to your device. In that case, you'll be able to get a less shake free video. So this is a really cool tip that you can implement while they're shooting handheld videos. A really cheap alternative to handheld video is getting a mobile tripod. When you use a mobile tripod, you'll be having way more grip to hold. And again showed much better and smooth video income virus into handheld videos. If you are happiness or vision amount of investment, I would prefer you guys to get a fluid head tripod. Using a fluid head try production attained some really smooth ban until short. And if you're really creative, we can shoot some amazing cinematic videos using a tripod as well. If you really want to level up your video production, I would suggest you guys to get a gimble. Basically almost all Gimbels harbor at least three axis's. And these three-axis work hard so that none of the shape that you are producing will be affected to a video. And by using a gimble, you can shoot some amazing leaders like Martin time lapses, hyper lapses, and moreover, you can shoot some really smooth videos. If you are an absolute beginner, I would suggest you guys to get a cheap tripod and a team dipole can basically satisfied all of our basic requirement. And in the future, if you feel like you need to upgrade, you can invest on a better tripod and better video equipments. And as a beginner, a relative tripod can't satisfy all of our basic requirements. So guys, one really important thing that I want to say is that whenever endeavor you are editing a video number or were used transitions basically choose transitions that blend with their video. And if it is possible, tried to attain some natural transitions. If you already use transitions, the video may look at lot boring and unengaged. So always keep in mind that number overused transitions and choose transitions that blend with the overall video. So guys, this was a basic video on the basic equipments and ideas that you can implement to attend camera motion, dying for watching. And I'll see you guys in the next video. 5. Better Slow motion: Hi guys. In this video, let us talk about slow motion. Slow motion is nothing but shooting a video at a higher frame rate. For example, if you are shooting a video at one Dundee FPS, as we all know, our camera captures 130 frames per second. And the cool thing is that since our cameras capturing 12V frames every single second, the camera almost captured every moment in that 1 second. And also we are having a bunch of frames. So we will be having the flexibility to go through all these frames are in a really slow pace, and that basically makes up a slow motion video. So higher the frame rate, more moments or more frames our camera captures and are we can go through each frame in a really slow manner and basically come up with a slow motion video. So this is the basic definition of a, how a slow-motion video works. So rice we already learned do change the resolution. And if you notice that you can see that along with the resolution, you can also see a frame rate coupled, that is NADP third difference plus again the nativist 60 frames per second. And this is how we can change the frame rate. That is, you can change the frame rate by going to settings or for the camera, and you can choose a resolution. And when it use resolution, you can see that Dow, which frame rate is coupled with that resolution. And you can choose the desired frame rate that you want. So this is how we cannot change the frame rate by default in your smartphone. And the guys, in my opinion, a real slow motion starts from 60 FPS. That is unique to shoot at least at 60 of peers to get kind of a slow video and obviously going go higher like E122 for Dn mode. So basically 60 FPS. It's a starting point to get a pretty decent slow-motion video. And one really important thing, data you always need to have in mind, decide higher the frame rate. Faster will be the shutter speed. Faster the shutter speed more and mode of light to require. That is, if you are shooting at a higher frame rate, make sure that your envy or Mondays when linked up or rails, you will be having a lot of grain in your video. For example, if you are shooting in a low-light enviornment, makes sure that you are shooting at a lower frame rate, like 60 or 30. If they're shooting at a higher frame rate, either you won't be able to see anything on a screen or else your video will be completely filled up with the grain. So in when Leto condition against you at a higher frame rate and in law debt situation you need to shoot at a lower frame rate. So guys, this either basic thing that you need to remember before shorting slow-motion video. And most importantly, you need to keep in mind that the frame rate, as well as the shutter speed and the frame rate graph. That is, if you're shooting at a higher frame rate, make sure that you are having sufficient amount of light. So that's it, guys. Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys next video. 6. Unleash your phone cameras Full Potential: Hi guys. In this video, let us see how we can unleash the complete potential of your smartphones camera by using the default camera application, you are only using 70% of all your camera's grew potential. Whereas if you use a third party application, you can completely exploit the full potential of your smartphones cameras up. So I'm going to use an application or an answer filmic bureau, this is considered as one of the best video camera application for any smartphone. So right now I'm gonna open that particular application. So guys, this is a really big broad application in the face. And right away you can see that at this particular application is completely loaded. And here I can write it. We are just at the focus. That is again completely takeover the focus control of my camera. And right here we can see that this particular obligation, or not, focused on any object in a faster and more accurate manner. Whereas using my default camera application, I'm basically struggling to focus onto any object. Keep on tapping on my screen and towards the left here you can see that I can adjust the ISO of my camera and back to the home screen here you can see SO cool. And as coil, the so calleds basically used to do are just exposure. That is again, move around anywhere in the screen. And the softer basically are just according to the enviornment that I'm shooting it. And I can click on and this particular circular shape to lock my exposure. And that's the same case with the focus as well. I can tap on the focus box and when it turns red, it means that are the focus is locked. And here you can see that I can also basically it's used a lot of color profile and I can even lock the color profile and shoot at row BD format. And like an allegory of the media during post-production. And here in the bottom part, you're gonna see a live audio monitoring along with the current frame rate and the resolution and when a dashboard. And here you can see that we have got different views like different histogram views domain the video production more easier. And right here on setting where you have multiple settings option starting all the way from resolution to sing. I'd also just independent frame rate for any resolution. And I can customize the audio and I can also enable stabilization. That is, even if your smartphone and do not have any sort of civilization, whether it be internal or optical. This particular application provides a software-based civilization in which you can basically make your video shake free to an extent. So these are the different features of this particular filament broad application. If you're really serious on new media production, I would definitely suggest to guys to get this particular camera application to level up and maximize your camera potential. So that's it guys. This is a really simple way in which you can unleash the complete potential of your camera. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys soon. 7. Final Thoughts: That's it guys. Thanks a lot for tuning in all the way till the end. And I really hope you guys enjoyed this particular class. And moreover, phones on value out of it. And let me quickly summarize what we have learned. So we started off with are the two basic camera setting that you need to configure before shooting a video. Then we talked about locking, exposure and focus. After that be talked about camera motions, the different ways in which you can attain gamma margin, and how camera motion makes a engaging interactive video. Followed by, we talked about are slow motion. What are the necessary steps that you need to take before shooting a slow-motion video. What is the technology behind the slow-motion video? And some really important graph that you need to remember while shooting Islam watching video. Then we talked about a really cool smartphone application or nasa filmic bro, which can help you unleash the complete potential of us smartphones camera. So that basically winded up this particular skill share class. And thank you guys, thank for watching. It. Is Peter Johnson signing off and I really hope to see you guys soon.
