be in Notability Pro, and can make nice and concise. Notice that's what
facilitates your life. Let's get started. So
firstly, what is notability? Of course, before
we go into audit, different features
that notability has. So first know what's
notability is. Notability is a
note-taking app that is available on iOS and Mac OS. You can use the free version
which has limited access, or you can get the
premium subscription. You can try the
premium version for 14 days using the free trial. If you want to continue
using it's after it's his $14.99 a year. With the premium version, you get unlimited access to all their features including stickers, planners, and more. My iPad is the 11.9 inch
version of the iPad Pro. And also, I use a paper
black screen protector to protect my screen
whilst making, as well as to give me a more

check out the paper like screen protects how a
child's highly recommend. Make sure to do so using
the link down below.
2. Class Project: In this lesson, I'll be telling you about the class project. Your class projects for
this class will be to make your very own sets
of digital notes. Throughout this
class, I will teach you how to use notability. And at the very end, I have a detailed lesson
on exactly how I make my very own set of digital
notes for medical school. So once you have watched
all these videos, you will have all the
knowledge you need to make your very own set of notes. These notes can be about
anything from one of your school topics or even some notes on one of your
hobbies or favorite movie. Once you have made your notes, you can export them as a PDF and then add them to the
class projects section. I look forward to seeing
all of your creative notes.
3. Home Page: In this lesson, I'll explain all the different parts of
the notability homepage. So as soon as you
open up Notability, you will see the homepage. Now let's go through
each of these sections. Firstly, we will start through
the section on the left. Here you have the option
to view all your notes, your most recent notes, as well as your own filed notes. If I pass all notes, they will all appear on
the right-hand side. And if I press Reset notes to ten miles pizza nuts I have used will appear on the right. And finally, if I
press on files, notes and notes that are not enough photo appear on the
right-hand side below this, you have your dividers dividers to split up all
my med school notes. If you open up a divider, you will see all your
subjects within. That's the vital. If
I open up my gear to divide or I'll see all my
subjects for my second year of medical school at the top
left corner others and as its phosphate which
you can use to move around your dividers
and subjects, which I'll demonstrate
in a later lesson. As you can press the
Add button next to the Edit button to add a new
device or a new subjects. There is also an input and
exports button at the top of the homepage which
you can use to share your notes and also
bring in notes. In the top right corner
there is a search button which allows you to search
for a specific notes. In the bottom left
corner we have a settings button
which allows you to control a whole
bunch of things. I'll go through these in greater detail in another lesson. There's also a support button which takes you to the
notability supports period as a delete button which shows you your recently
deleted nodes. And finally, we have this button which shows you all the different
features you can get access to if you have the premium version
of notability. And these features include stickers, themes, and planners.
4. Dividers and Subjects: This lesson will go into detail about the virus and subjects including how I organize my
own dividers group together, subjects and subjects
group together notes. So for example, if you
open up a divider, you will see all the
different subjects within that divider. And if you open up the subjects, you will see all your
notes within that subject. I treat all of my dividers as my different years
of medical school. So that's why I have
a year one divider to the vital and
here free divider as well as our divider which has the random things on notability that aren't medical
school related. So it might invite us off for my different years
of medical school. And then each subject is for a different module
within that year. For example, if I open
up my year to the vital, you'll see all my
different subjects for all my different modules within second year of medical school, including CO2, met
two, etcetera, I number one hertz for
each of the lectures, which allows me to organize
my notes in lecture order. You can view your notes
in grid view or ListView. And you can order these
nerves by name order, created date order, or
modified date order. As previously
mentioned, you can use the Add button to add any
divider or a new subject. If you ever need to edit
your devices are subjects. You can press the edit button in the top left-hand corner, which will allow you to do so. This button also allows you to move your notes
from one subject to another and also move your subjects from one
device to another. And finally, using
the Edit button, you can change the names of
your dividers and subjects, as well as changing the
color of your subjects.

creating a new note. So you start by pressing the new Notes button
on the homepage. So open up a new page, which is where the real
note-taking forgets. Firstly, you can
change the title of the notes to
whatever you'd like. And you can also change the
date and time of the title. You can also press
the back button in the top left corner to
go back to the homepage. Along the top, you have
your toolbar which has everything you need to be
able to make your notes. And I'll be going
through each of these different tools in
the next few lessons.
8. Key Features: In this lesson, I'll be
discussing the main features you can use notability
to make your notes. Firstly, let's start
off with the undo tool. By pressing the undo tool, you can get rid of anything
you have just written. If you hold onto the undo tool, you can then redo anything
he just got rid off. You can also undo by swiping
left using three fingers. You can redo by swiping
right using three fingers. Then we have the text tool. Pressing this tool will
allow you to choose if you want to draw
your textboxes or not. If you press draw, you can draw your text box anywhere on
the page and start typing. The text will be in
the default style, color, font, and size that
she picked in your settings. But you can easily change
these as you wish. You can also save up to 3-state font styles
that you can type in. You also have the opportunity
to have checklists, numbered lists,
and bullet points, which you can adapt as
you would on a computer. Once you have your textbooks, you can change a style, cuts it, copy it, delete it, and also change the type
of paper like this. Next up is the pencil tool. The pencil tool, you
can choose a pencil or varying colors,
thicknesses, and styles. There are many different
thicknesses you can pick from. As you can see, there are also many different
colors you can use. You can even create
your own color if the color you'd like
is not available. There is a non pressure
sensitive pencil, pressure sensitive pencil, dotted pencil, dashed pencil, or which can be used with many different colors
and thicknesses. As mentioned previously,
you can draw a line, then hold down the pencil
to make it straight. You can also do this with
shapes, curves, and arrows. Please note that you can't use your finger to use
this pencil tool. You have to write
with an Apple pencil or any other type of stylus. Of course, we can't forget
the highlight tool, the highlights, which is very
similar to the pencil tool. Instead of being a pencil, it is a highlighter, but you have the same variety of colors, thicknesses, and styles. The highlights can
be overlapped, which is useful if you want
to make something stand out. The eraser tool comes in
many different thicknesses, just like the highlights are and pencil tool, the whole eraser, which removes whole objects
for the partial eraser, which removes single pixels. Next, we have the Lasso tool, or the Lasso tool
allows you to select mover on specific
sections of your notes. There are two
different ways you can select parts of your notes. You can use the tool on the left to draw around
specific sections. Or you can use the tool
on the right to draw boxes around specific
sections of your notes. Once you have selected a
specific parts of your notes, you can reshape it, move it around, re-size it, changes style, or
even delete it. In terms of style, you can change the
color and thickness of the elements you have
selected using this tool, you can also duplicate cuts, copy combated texts,
and save as a sticker. And finally, we have the hand tool which
allows you to move around your notes without
adding or changing anything.
9. Audio: In this lesson, I'll discuss the audio recording
feature on notability. The recording tool is
super useful and allows you to record audio
whilst making notes. She can then listen back to you. I know recording. You can listen back
to your recordings at different speeds
and you can also turn on notes replay to see your notes animates as
you listen to the audio. Once you are done
with the audio, you can delete it by swiping
left and selecting delete. This is super useful. For example, if you are
in a lecture and you can't get down everything
the lecturer is saying. Instead of rushing to
get everything done, you can record the audio
and then listen back to it in your own time
to complete your notes.
10. Adding Media: In this lesson,
I'll tell you about all the different medias
you can add to your notes. You can do this by pressing the Add button in the
top right corner. Firstly, let's discuss
how to add images. You can add images to your
notes from your photo library by pressing photo library and selecting the images
you'd like to add. You can also add images
you find online by holding onto the image and then dragging it
into your notes. You can also add
images to hundreds by screenshot in the
image you'd like to add. Then tapping onto your notes using the Lasso
tool and clicking, Insert last image next on the list of different
medias is camera. Using this feature, you can take a picture and add that image
straight into your notes. This can be very useful. For example, during the lecture, if you want to take a
picture of the slides, you can also scan documents into your notes as you could
do on the homepage. We also have the ability to
add stickers to your notes. These can be stickers
you have purchased, but also things you have
drawn and saved as a sticker, you can add gifts to your notes by searching through
the different ones available and simply tapping on the one you'd like to use. And finally, you can add
web clips to your notes, as well as stickies of
different colors and style.

12. Page Options: In this lesson, I'll
be discussing with different page options you
have available on notability. You can access these
page options by pressing the page button in the top
right corner of your notes. Firstly, you'll be able to view other pages of your notes. Here you have the
option to add the page, cut and copy a page, or even clear or delete a page. The next option allows you
to bookmark a specific page. For example, if you have a
textbook up on notability, you can bookmark the specific
pages you need to use, making these pages easier for
you to find in the future. And finally, the search
button allows you to search for any particular
words in your notes. Everywhere in your
notes where this word appears will be
highlighted in yellow.
13. Additional Tools : In this video,
I'll be discussing free additional
tools you can use when making your
next on notability. These includes the
favorites tall, the Zoom tool, Adam
Martinez View tool. Firstly, let's start
with the favorites tool, which makes your note-taking so easy as you select
your different tools, you can also add some of
them to your favorites. As you can see me
doing on-screen. This allows you to have
all your favorite tools in one area that you
can easily access. This makes your
note-taking experience that fits more smooth
and efficient. You can find your favorite tours and open up your favorite spot by pressing the star button in the bottom left
corner of your page. Once you have your
favorite spot open, you can move the bar
around to any part of your notes now discussed
the Zoom tool. The Zoom tool allows you
to automatically zoom into a specific area of your notes instead of having to
manually zoom in. This allows you to be more precise when I think
information to your notes and will mean your next turnouts
more neat and tidy. You can zoom in by simply
personal Zoom button in the bottom right-hand corner. And once you do, a
simplified version of your toolbar will appear just above
the Zoom section to facilitate your note making, you can also press left or right moot as zooms
in books along. And you can press enter
to go onto the next line. And finally, we have
the Martinez View tool. If you want to be two notes at the same time, we've
been notability. Simply swipe right
on your notes. Select the note if
you would like to see and press Add to
the left or right. This way you can add to
as move through each of them separately whilst viewing
them at the same time.
14. How I Make My Notes: So now that I have gone through every single notability
feature in this lesson, I'll explain exactly how I make my medical school notes using
a step-by-step process. I start off by opening
up a new page on notability and adding the
lecture title and number. This specific lecture I'll
be making notes on today is called cranial nerves and
is lecture number eight. I also make sure I'm
using gridded paper as it helps me keep my
notes neat and organized. But this is a
personal preference. You can use any type of
paper you would like. Next we have step two, which is main title. I go onto making my main
title for the lecture. Depending on how creative
I'm trying to be, can take some time to do this. I use a mixture of the
pen and highlights are tools to create a nice-looking
title for my notes, this step isn't necessary. However, I've found
that's creating a nice tight so brings my notes
to give them more nicely. And it also makes the whole
process more fun for me. Step number three is to split. Once my task is done as fits my page up into free
streets columns, this way my notes have a
good structure and they are organized instead of being all over the page to
create these columns, I started by drawing one
straight line down my page. I then duplicate my first column to create my second
first column, step number four is to
open up your lecture. You can either bring
up your lecture on another device like a laptop, or splits your iPad
screen and tap your lecture up
alongside Notability, which is what I'll
be doing today. Step number five is
to start writing. I started by looking through
my lecture slides to find the first topic I'll be making
notes on in my lecture. This is overview
of cranial nerves. So I started by
writing overview at the top of column one
using a thick pen. I then starts making notes on the key information from
this topic using a thin pen. I use these different
pens to be able to fit more notes onto my page, but also to help my subtitles
like overview to stand out, I make my notes in a bullet
point format rather than in full sentences to
make the information more easy to understand
whilst making my notes, I tried to summarize that
information into my own words. Making your note-taking process
more active than passive. If I ever need to add extra
information to my notes, I tend to do this using a
different color, like red. Step number six is
to continue writing. When I'm done making
notes on my first topic, I caught off the land of
the columns to box off that section as repeat this
process for the next topic. Doing this makes sure That's
my notes are in small, manageable sections rather
than long stream of texts. I also add images to my notes to help with my learning and
have that visual aid. One thing I love about making digital notes is that I have the ability to
rearrange my notes and add extra information
if I need to. I then continue this process until I'm done making my notes. Step number seven
is the highlights. When I'm done going through my whole lecture and I
have made all my notes. I'll go back to the
start of my notes and highlights all
the key information. I do this at the end of
my note-taking process, so forced me to reread
everything I have written as make sure
that I understand it. Again, this means that my note-taking process is
more active than passive. When I'm done doing that, my notes are finally finished.
15. Summary: We have now reached
the end of the class. I hope you have found this class useful
and to have answered all your questions
about how to use notability and how I make
my medical school notes. If you guys have
enjoyed this course, make sure to check
out my other courses on how to get into
medical school, as well as how to create
a time management system to be more efficient and
productive with your time. And of course, if you
