1. An Introduction To Our Picture To Painting Print on Demand Course: Hey everyone, welcome to the new course. In this course here on Skillshare, we're going to be teaching you how to turn pictures into paintings, specifically for print on-demand. So before we even talk about who am I and what this course is about and everything like that. Let's go ahead and take a look at some of the pictures that we actually turned into painting. So I'm gonna go ahead and show you guys what I'm talking about. And this is the first picture that you could obviously see. It's a photograph, there's really nothing special or, or, you know, stands out about it. But we turned it into this really beautiful painting that you could go ahead and see here. You can see there's a significant difference in the colors, how it looks, and what's being presented. Now you can look at this and say, Yeah, this looks like a reasonable painting. Somebody actually drew this by hand and colored, colored the different leaves and trees and all different things are involved. But this was not that. It was just simply a photo converted into a painting. Let's go ahead and go to the next photo. You can see here this is a picture for all the religious people out there of Christ on the cross. And this is a picture here that was converted, a photograph of a painting converted into another painting. Now you can see here this could work with any photo and I'll just give you guys an example. This is a landscape photo. This landscape photo was converted into once again, another painting. You can see here how the difference looks, right? It's a pretty dramatic difference if you really look. Good example of this is you can look here at the trees. The trees really outline how the differences. So you can take a look at these trees here, right? And you can look at these trees and there's a big difference. They look painted there. So if this is something that you want to get started with, you should watch a little further. First of all, if you notice in the very beginning of the introduction to the course, we mentioned how to turn pictures into paintings, specifically for print on Mendel. What is print on-demand? We'll print on demand is very simple. It's an opportunity for you as a seller to sell merchandise that is custom printed. So for example, if I wanted to sell merchandise like a canvas or a photograph or whatever it is, right? And a piece of art that's custom printed, I can put any picture on it that I wish. If I want this picture or another picture, I'm doing print on-demand and I'm selling these custom printed merchandise. When an order comes in or when a customer orders a product. Now cellars. This really makes print on-demand really special, is that sellers don't actually have to worry about shipping, fulfilling the product, creating the product, creating custom orders, anything like that. It's pretty amazing, right? And that's why a lot of people gravitate towards print done man. Because it's very cost efficient. It doesn't really have a large scale of effort or work that's needed. But more importantly, it doesn't take up a lot of time and it's rather a profitable. Now, before we talk about who I am and what gives me the credibility, even make a course like this is what's going to be in the course. How do we, how do we know if this course is for us? Well, if you're thinking about taking this course, well, the first thing you're obviously going to learn is how to take a picture and turn it into a photograph just like the one you're seeing here, right? The second thing you're going to be learning is how to actually sell those paintings from a print on-demand landscape. And what I mean by print-on-demand landscape, there are different platforms where you can sell your work, your art. And lastly, speaking of your art, we have to be able to pick the right photos to legally be able to sell. You can't just go up to a photo and the photo to a random Google search, take that photo and decide to sell it. You're actually not legally allowed to do that. There's only certain photos that you have legal rights behind doing this too. So we're going to talk about all of that here in the course. So if you want to get started, maybe print on-demand or maybe even you are in print on men, but you've never created or turned photos into paintings. And this is an interesting idea for you. And you want to know how we set everything up. I highly recommend you take this course. But lastly, I want to talk about something about who am I as a person? Well, my name is Mark and I create photos just like the ones you're seeing here. And I do a lot in the print on-demand space. And I really started to take print on-demand very, very seriously about two months to three months prior to 2022. Now I was involved in print on-demand for years before that period where I decided to take it seriously. But when I actually took it seriously and I started to really hunker down and focus on what works and what doesn't. This was one of the methods that I found that really does work very well. Whether you're a novice, whether you're a beginner or whether you're advanced, it really doesn't matter. If you're even intermediate, doesn't really matter what level of the game in print men that you're in. It works for everybody. And so far, just this year on one platform alone which has red bubble, which we're going to show you how to upload to Red Bull design on red bold, things like that. For your for your turning photos into prints. On Redbubble, we made over $55 thousand alone. Now we didn't do this on just one Redbubble store. We actually have over 17 Red bubble stores in counting. And by the end of this year we'll have about 20 red bubble stores. So all that money that we made is diverted into different Redbubble stores. So I figured you just say that. So now you guys know who I am and what the goal of this course is, and what the objectives and everything that we're gonna get started. So if you want to continue learning on this course, I'll see you guys on the other side. Okay, so let's go ahead and get started. And let's get into the course. So the first lesson, I'll see you there. 2. Where To Acquire Protected Licensed Photography Legally: Okay, so let's talk about the first component and the first lesson. Whereas, where are you actually going to get these photos? So if you're a photographer and you're shooting photos yourself, and you have the complete right to shoot them yourself and use them. Well then in that case, you're good to go. You don't have to purchase photos, you don't have to use photos. But if you're somebody like me and you don't really get out much, you don't really shoot photos are not a photographer. Maybe you're not even skilled when it comes to photography. You're going to have to have the legal right or the legal license to acquire and utilize certain photos. Unfortunately, we can't just go to Google, make a Google search, and just use any photo there because those photos have ownership or somebody else has ownership over those specific images. So what do we do? Well, there are certain places where you can acquire licensed photos for commercial use. Now, commercial use differs because what we're going to be doing is we are going to be taking these photos and we're going to be using them on a print on-demand site marketplace like Redbubble.com for instance. But here's the thing. Red bubble.com doesn't allow free stock photography. So this is something you want to keep it in mind as well. So we're gonna give three examples here. I'm gonna show you which one I specifically use, but there are different three examples. There's not one that you have to use or one that you really need to use. The first example is Shutterstock. Shutterstock actually allows you when you get an image to be commercial friendly and you have the full brights over at the license, you just have to make sure you purchase the correct license. Same thing with Getty Images. Getty Images are also royalty-free, but you do have to purchase the correct license, right? So let's just say I was to purchase an image. Like, let's actually search for something here, like a picture of a horse. And let's load up all the different pictures. And let's say I was to pick this one. Well, in this case, if I was to buy it, I can get any small, medium, or large here from this source and it'd be perfectly fine. I have to buy which one I want, but the image has to be purchased under a commercial license. So it doesn't really matter which image you buy as long as it's commercial license. Okay? Now, what I personally use this I don't use GET even though it's great. I don't use Shutterstock. I use axial. Axial is just another software out there that is actually a Chrome extension. So it makes my job a little bit easier. And I use axial, I search for something like let's just say that picture of a horse, I hit search and they have tons and tons and tons of photos. Now this is not a promo, but for me financially, the reason why I use axioms, because it's significantly cheaper than Shutterstock or Getty. For me, I believe axiom is something like $100 for the year. And Shutterstock, if I was to pay per photo, we can even go over here to pricing and check. Let's go ahead and see the pricing. I believe it's here somewhere. The pricing Yep. For five images or 25 images, I would have to pay 220 something dollars with axial, I have 0 limits. Like I can upload as much as I can or download as much as I can. If if I use Getty here, Getty was actually the company I used to use back in the day, which is for I would go with this personally, I would go with the small ones which are low resolution, but it's definitely a waste of money in my opinion. It's a little bit too expensive, which is a five pack for a $160, um, excuse me, $800, but a $160 per download with commercial rights. So the commercial rights are very, very important because you want to legally be able to make money from these photos. So it just depends on what business you're in for me. Like I said, it just makes sense for my financial standpoint to be able to download an unlimited number of photos with no limits to how many I can download per day and only paying $99 a year. But this is like I said, it's not an ad. So I'm not even going to add the link for axial. So even if I'm not promoting them, I'm not promoting them as a company. I don't I'm not promoting them at all, but I'm just simply saying that's the brand that I use. But the reason why I pulled up these other two is just to simply show that you need to have legal ownership over the images is crucially important because two things can happen. The first thing is your marketplace account on red bubble and all these other places will get removed and get taken down. Or you will get sued for using an image that you don't have ownership over. So that's basically the reason why we use images that we have to have license and ownership over. 3. How To Pick The Right Images For Your Painting Transformation: So for me, now that we've decided what we're going to go with, I'm personally going to go with axial. Let's go ahead and actually start acquiring some of our art now. So I'm going to, what we're gonna do is I'm gonna get my images. Now. Once again, if you're a photographer, it's perfectly fine. Grab any images you want. But when you're out there shooting, you want to look for certain photos. So let's just actually search for a horse here. Now, once again, any stock photography website that you're going with, you can go ahead and do this. I'm going to be searching for particular kinds of photos. So what I'm looking for is I'm looking for a lot less granular detail and I'm looking for large kind of thing. So look at this item, this item right here. I'm going to click on it to download and download in a few seconds. You can see here just downloaded this image. The reason why this is good for what we're trying to go for is if everything is granular, like if everything is very, very, if there's a lot of detail on a smaller level, That's not really an image you want to go with. Here. I see three things. I see horse number one, horse number two, and grass. That's basically it. We want to keep it at that. The more simple it is, the better. So that's gonna be our first image. I'll go ahead and get a landscape image. Saw search something like landscape, and see a picture of a landscape. Now for me, I really liked the way trees look when we convert them into paintings. So I can look for anything that's like tree related. So something like this would be actually really cool. I'm just seeing if there's anything that could potentially be a little bit better here on the first page, and I think not so for me, I'm just gonna go with this image. Where is it? Somewhere? Right here. This image is perfectly fine, which is our second image. We're going to wait for that to download. And guys, by the way, when you go ahead and do this strategy, don't be afraid to test different images. Even if you see images that you're not sure how they'll turn out or even if you're shooting photos and you're not sure how they'll turn out. Don't be afraid to test different images, test different things, see how the workout. So we got those two images, download the same image, but we're going to go for one more and let's search for a picture of a lion or a tiger. That's what I'm looking for. So a picture of a lion or a picture of a tiger. And let's see here something that I want us to get like almost like a close-up of a lion or tiger. This would be good, but there's this graphics that's almost faded in the front of the tigers are lines face, so I don't want to go with that. Let's continue here. Let's look for something. This looks pretty good. Let's give this one a shot. We'll see how it turns out. And once again, we're trying different things. We're not 100% sure how it's going to turn out, but we'll give it a shot. I want to just download one more just to be safe. Let's go with this one. And what we're gonna do now is after downloading all the images, we're going to head back and we're going to now make sure all the images that we download, we're going to just make sure that the colors are where we want them to be. And we're going to have to upload them into our image editor. Now that's going to be in our next lesson. But let's go ahead and get into our next lesson so we can get started. 4. Analyzing & Uploading Images Prior To Conversion (Uploading Images Into Software Tool): Okay, so now that we have our images, we can go ahead and just take a look at them and take a look at some of the colors and just discuss if they're good, if they're bad, like what we think about them, and just view them in a full view. So I'm gonna go ahead and increase the size of some of these. And you can see here the really good thing about downloading images that are very high definition, even though it takes some time to download, you can see every little aspect of these images. Like if you look here, this image, you can see the hairs on this lion's head, right? It's very, very graphical. You want to make sure you do this. You want to make sure you have images that are very, very clear like this. There's, There's no blemishes. They're not blurry. If you guys recall in the last lesson, there was a lion, a picture of a lion with this blurred like piece of grass in front of his face. We don't want something like that. We want something more like this. Very, very clear, right? Let's look at the next image that we downloaded, which is this baby lion. And once again, you could see how clear the photo is. You could literally zoom in on the hairs of the lion's head right ear. So very, very, very nice piece of art here that would suit really well for a painting. The next photo we have, which we downloaded twice. But this image right here, which I think is going to look great once all these trees are gonna be blended together, all the colors are going to look amazing. And finally, our horse image. Okay, so what we're gonna do is we're going to go ahead over to a website called Canva.com. So canva.com is special because there's a lot of different places where you can upload images and work on them. But Canva is really cool because you can use it for free. So let's go ahead and create a design on Canva here. And we're gonna go with just the typical 1920 by 1080. So I'm going to increase this to 1920 by 1080. That's my Custom Size. And if you have a free account on Canva, It's perfectly fine. You can go ahead and use them. Now let's upload all the images that we downloaded, right, so I'm just gonna go ahead and drag and drop them here. And all these different images are going to start uploading. So we have the lion, we have this, we have other line. We have the landscape. Let's go ahead and upload the picture of the horse just by dragging and dropping. Very simply put. And we'll give it a minute because the images that we have, like I said, they're really, really dense. There's a lot of content in these images. They're very heavy picture wise. So what we're gonna do is just going to sit back and wait. And as we're waiting, we're going to, we're going to basically create enough pages for all of our different canvases, right? So here we have about four pages. And just to simply do that, when you have one empty pages, clicky over here, duplicate page. Now, once you've added all your pages, what I want you to do is I want you to click your image and just give one image per page. You can enlarge it a little bit. Don't be afraid to take up some space on the page, right? And what I'm gonna do is if the page is smaller or excuse me, if the image is too large and it fits the page like something like an image like this, for example, as it's loading if it's very large, kinda like this. What we'll do is we'll duplicate this twice, right? And this one will convert into a painting and we'll just leave this one the way it is. And we'll do this, like I said, twice. So we're going to have to have two on the screen here. Down here, we're going to have to have two on the screen, right? Like I said, we can feel free to enlarge, feel free to do whatever editing you want. And then finally, the last image, this is also a bigger image, especially when I expand it kinda like this. And we're going to take the same one and put it right here. Now in the next lesson we're gonna go into actually converting them into paintings. I'm going to show you how easy this is. So let's go ahead and get into the next lesson. 5. Converting Images Into Paintings With Various Colors: All right guys, so this is a really cool moment in the course where we're going to turn these images into paintings. So what I'm gonna do is all you do is after you have all your images loaded on your pages, you just select an image. So I'm gonna go over here and I'm gonna select this image. And I'm going to go ahead and select Edit image on the top here. Now when you add it, when you select Edit Image, I want you to take your mouse and go to the left. Just want you to scroll down till you see these cupcake images. And there's gonna be a section here that says paint effects and you're going to click See All. Now, these are different effects that you can turn this image into. So let's go ahead and test each and every individual look. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to multiply this image literally like seven times, just so we can see each and every individual image and its own features. So how they look different. So here we have paint effects and we have Mosaic. And guys, if you're reading the course project as we speak, you're going to want to do the same thing. Take one of the images duplicated about seven times so we can see the different effects. So image number one is going to have the mosaic effect. And we're just going to, now, before we hit Apply, we're gonna take our mouse and go over here to these three bars or three buttons. If you could see these toggle images. And you can see by default, it's on medium. It's set to medium with intensity of one. I can choose between low-intensity, medium intensity, or high-intensity. Then I can play with how intense in that certain section or setting. So you can see here with this, it doesn't really look like an image I like. So I might go with low-intensity, for example. I might play with how intense the low-intensity should be within low-intensity, right? You have a spectrum of all the way from 0 to one. We can play around, like I said, how, how it will look, something like this, right? I'm gonna hit Apply. Now the image is solidified. Now this image with the mosaic paint effect, we turn this image into that image, the one that you're seeing here now, now it's loading a bit because there are some changes that are made, but you can see it's a significantly different image now, this is not the same thing and almost looks like a stained glass approach. And don't worry if it gets blurry a little or for whatever happens is just simply loading. Okay, let's go to the same image, but just on a different view. And let's go ahead and view the same paint effect. And if you're doing the class project, you want to do the same thing, right? So we're on our second image, we're going to click the window effect, right? So let's go ahead and wait for that to load. And don't be worried if it takes a little while, that's perfectly normal. Depending on how graphical your images, how many pixels it has. C, it will take some time, but you can see here this image, wow, look at that. That's a great image. Now, once again, we can play with how intense. So I might click on high-intensity here and just see how it's going to look. And to me this looks like an image on a canvas when it has this setting, right? And that's just the way it looks to me like a cotton cloth type Canvas. I'm going to decrease the intensity. So I can go with something like this. And that looks a lot more painted to me. Right? And notice I'm not going at the full one intensity because that just looks fake. It just does not look real. But if I take this and just drag it just a little bit lower, right, with something like this, for example, that looks a little more painted to me. We can actually compare, let's just go with medium intensity, right? And we can compare how it will look. So I can increase the intensity kinda like this and see how, see how it looks. So I might go with something like that and I hit Apply. Now we have these two images. Let's go ahead and go to the third one. And let's hit Edit image. Let's go down, scroll down to the cupcakes once again and select the Mia or whatever you wanna call it. Pronunciation is Mia. And we're going to see the controls once again and see how it looks. Now once again, don't be afraid to wait, but it load. And you can see very, very significant different painting here. Okay. But let's go ahead and just decrease ever so slightly the paint effect. Now, if I do this, it will look similar to the one above it. I don't want that. So I might go with something that's lower intensity or even higher intensity just depends on the situation, but lower intensity and some, some paint defects are not always going to be the best for every scenario. But you could see here, this is probably a setting that I would like. Alright, let's go with the next one. And we're going to scroll down once again to this paint effect of trigone. And let's go ahead and edit this one. Once again, the default is medium with a full intensity of medium, right? And wait for it to load. There you go. So that's a very, very strong painting effect. And it really does transform what you're seeing. It's almost like not even the same creature anymore, but we can make this a little bit less intense or we can make it just as intense. I actually believe it or not, I like this and I'm going to leave it just the way it is. I'm not even going to touch that. Let's go over here to edit image one more time. And you kinda get the point of how you're going to do the class project. But you're gonna do this for every single one. So this is a little bit of a class project tutorial, but this is exactly how you're going to be converting your pictures into paintings. So we're doing the retry auto setting here for the paint effect, will just give a second for it to look. Now, if you look, this looks interesting. It looks very interesting. Very strong paint effect here. So we have all these different paint effects and they look very different in nature and they're all different. So what I want you to do is, like I said, for the class project, take one of your images, multiply it as many times as all the different effects there are, just to make sure that the information all sticks head over to your paint effects. So let's just save this image head over to the paint effects, which just an easy way to remember them are your cupcake images. And there are 12 of them here. Or excuse me. There's really 11 if you don't include the non feature, but there's so many, so you're going to use every single one. And then for your project to end off the project, you have to stay. Which one is your favorite for the specific image that you have? Something that you'll learn. The goal of the project to learn is that every image will look different in certain circumstances. And we're actually going to show that in the next lesson. Okay, so let's go ahead and jump into the next lesson. 6. One Is Not Always Better Than The Other: Okay, So really the focus of this lesson right now is to just reflect how images can look different within certain paint effects. Now you might probably know that, but what we're really trying to say is that there's not one at paint effect. That's always better than the other. I'll give you an example. This is for the lions here for this line photo. One of my favorite ones is this mosaic. It just looks the best to me for all the lines. Now of course, this one looks really cool and really effective and really stands out. But to me, the most realistic and the best one just looks like this mosaic feature. Well, for this painting, because I've done this so many times and worked on different photos so many times. My favorite one would probably be try gone for this. Because try gone has these red, purplish, oranges, yellow colors that mix really well, well, we'll trees that works out to be sometimes the best colors for trees. So let's go ahead and see how this image looks. And we'll see if it's viable or not. And look at that. Look at that tremendous image. To me that's amazing, right? All of these colors of these trees and we can actually edit how strong this effect is. If we really wanted to. I mean, we could decrease the intensity. We can increase the intensity, right? To make the water show a little bit more. You know what I'm saying? So there's a lot of things that we can do here, but it completely shifts the way the image looks. And that's something to keep in mind when you're working on these things. So for something like trees like this, trigonal is my favorite, right? And that's something that I'll go with. But just because try gone is my favorite for an image with trees, doesn't mean that it will necessarily be the best for something with horses. So let's go over here with the courses and the green grass, and go to the paint effects and select which one. Let's first select try gotten now I'm telling you, I'm not gonna go with try gone for the horses because it's a purplish orangeish yellow color. And if you look here, I wouldn't want my grass to be purple or orange or something like that right now, even though it does look good, right? It's not something that's ideal for me. Now everybody is different. I might select punto for example, for this one, see the effects of punto. And that's one of the effects here. So let's go ahead and sit back and relax and wait for that image to be applied. The punto effect. Okay, So now we have a little bit different of an image. Let's go ahead and try the window effect. Because the window effect, you never know it might be something that's interesting. Now the window effect, we can see that there's more of a blurry setting on the right side of the image, at least with the cupcake here. And then there's some graphics in the background. So something like this that actually I think looks the best. So I would go here, maybe decrease the intensity ever so slightly, something like this. And now this looks like a real painting. It looks like something that actually somebody painted. I'll just hit Apply here. And you can see that from this image to this image, we fully converted an image into a painting that looks phenomenal. Now once again, your Canva might blur out the images or something like that and make it look static. That's just temporary, It's just loading the image, but you could see how great of a difference there is. So just to backtrack, we use the trigone. Here. We use the Wenzel, I believe. Let's go ahead and check yep. Window. We use that for the horses and we used for this lion, we use the mosaic, right? So maybe there's a certain scenario here where I would want mosaic, but based on the images that I've see here, I want to go ahead and test this last ally in one. But when we get into this, once again, we need to have an open mind and not predict that only one is going to work for this. So let's go ahead and test Barca here. And Barker's one that we haven't tested yet. But based on the colors that I'm seeing in the image, I might like this. It has some yellow tones to it as some dark black tones. And that's exactly what I see here in the image of the line, I baby lion, I see the club. I see these blacks, I see these yellow tones. You can see how significantly it changes the image. I can go ahead and play with the paid thing. I might make it a little more intense, right? And see the difference between the intensity. And see if I actually like it between medium to a high-intensity and how that's affected. Now see, for me, it's a little too intense. They're just doesn't, you know, it takes away from the image. So I'm gonna go back to low and go too low. In ansi C, We tried low, we tried medium or excuse me, We tried high, which is the one that you're seeing now. We tried medium. Let's go ahead and see what lo looks like. And that looks better to me, right. So I might now decrease the intensity slightly. Just slightly, not too much. Something like this. And now I have a picture of a lion cub as a painting which people for print-on-demand can use for a phone case. You can use for a Canvas, you can use for a calendar. Maybe there's a lot of different things you could use for something like this. So now by the end of this episode and doing the project and everything like that, you should be very comfortable converting photos into paintings. So let's go ahead and move on to the next scenario where we actually take some of these paintings and upload them to read bubble, okay. 7. Exporting & Scaling images: Okay, so now that we have the images that we want, it's time to export the image that we're going to use. So in order to upload it to red bubble, we're going to export an image. So for me, I'm going to use this horse image and I'm going to show you how to export this and how to actually upload it into red bubble. So for me I want the image to perfectly fit in the Canvas. So I'm going to resize this a little bit. I don't necessarily need a 1920s. I might go with a, let's say a 1700 and let's see where it fits, right? And clearly, I can make the image fit it in this way, right? Without cutting off any of the main parts of the image. To me looks pretty good. Now I want to export this. This is page 13. So I'm gonna go over here and we go to Download. And I'm going to just take this bar here where it says the size. I'm going to export this in a much larger size. So I'm looking at 5,100 by 3200. I'm going to go over here and I'm going to look for page 13 specifically. I'm going to export it and I'm going to hit done. Now for the future, when you export your images, It's ideal to export each image in a way where it fits the Canvas, right? So if you have some image that's more vertical than it is horizontal or horizontal and vertical, make sure you resize your canvas to fit that size. So currently the images downloading. And it takes a little while, we have a few more seconds, but you want to head over to red bubble.com now for those who don't know, Red Bull.com is a marketplace where you can upload your merchandise designs and there'll be uploaded into merch. So here you can see I'm on red bubble and I have the option to upload a new work or copying existing work. I'm just going to simply take my design and add it here. Now, what's going to happen is, and you'll see this in just a minute. We're going to have lots of different options of products that we can see our design on. Now for me, most importantly, with the style of design that we're doing. Something that I really want to see this on is I want to see this on a mouse pad. That's just me. I also want to see this maybe on a mug or a Tumblr or even a iPhone case, are much rather an iPad case rather. So you can see here we have the design on a t-shirt, right? We have the Schiff on top of all the products that, that this design would fit on. I'm going to enable it. Now, what I want you guys to look at is these are all the different products, right? We have the standard T-shirt, the large print t-shirt, the graphic tee, right? For me, the graphic tee doesn't necessarily fit. Now what I could do is I could enlarge the image even more drastic so I can make it something like 13 thousand pixels by whatever number that is. But I don't want to do that currently, right. So if it doesn't fit, I'm just going to disable the product, right? So for the Schiff on top, it fits, it fits the product. And it looks kinda like this. I'm just going to shift it over to the right, just slightly, not nothing too crazy. Just like this. Alright, I'm going to enable that. The pill works good. We have the mouse pad works great. Now for the desk map, it's a little bit too small. And once again, if I wanted to enlarge it and make it even bigger, that would work. If I really want to enlarge it, guys, by the way, I can just go over here to paint. I can open it with paint. So I'll go over here and go to Open With. So let's go ahead and click open with, and then we just select paint. I'm going to show you guys how to do this. So we'll go over here and hit File or excuse me, Let's hit resize. And we'll click on the pixels. And right now it's 5,100 by 30 to 40. Let's say I want it to be 14 thousand, right, in terms of pixels by 8,880 or 94. So once I zoom out, it's still the same photo. Nothing really changes this much larger. I'll go over here and hit Save. Alright, Let's just give that a second because it is really, really hefty. It's a very large photo. Once it saves, we can take that much larger image and you guys will see when we drag it and drop it into red bubble, it's going to fill in all that extra white-space on particular images. So it's saved. I'll just get rid of this. I'll go back to the image, the original image. And I'll go over here and click Replace Image. And I'll look for the very image, which is this one, right? It's much bigger. Now you can see here it's going to take a little more time to upload, but just give it a second and it will complete. Will pause the screen once it's finished. Okay, so now that the image, the larger image is fully loaded, you can see there's a significant difference now, especially when you look at the, the desk mat image, right? We had pixels size of 15 thousand, at least in the width category. The height ended up fixing everything. So whenever you're struggling with an image that there's whitespace in the image on the product. And you want to enable all products, just simply make it larger, scale it up, right. And so you can see here we're just going around enabling all the products, okay? Just enabling different things here. And not every product is going to necessarily look attractive or it's not going to necessarily work. But you can always give it a shot and you can always try, right? You could always try. It doesn't have to be perfect in the beginning, but you could always try to improve certain things. So this is the image that you feel not comfortable with. Just simply disable it. Like I disabled the pet bowl. We have all different kinds of things going on here and so you can see how things are going on. Now. If we just drag all these different images, make them look somewhat attractive, right? Then we've completed our task. So the next thing we have to do is after all the images are uploaded onto these designs, we have to make a decision about what product we want to represent the group. Now, majority of the times I'm going to pick the product that looks the most attractive for me. I'll either pick the pillow in this case or I'll pick the mouse pad or the desk mat in this case, I think the mousepad really just serves this product good. So I'll just scroll all the way down. This is what you guys want to do as well. You're gonna go over here to the default product in your shop. And you want to look for that very product that you're going to select. So for me I'm going to go from mouse pad. So I'm typing the letter M and just look for the word mouse pad, found it. So I selected the mouse pad. Now, this same notion we want to complete this whole section right here, is this mature content? No, absolutely not. We want to agree with the terms and that's it. But before we do that before me and submit it, you have to make sure you add your title, you add your tags and you add your description. So in my case, the title might say painting, Right, because it's an actual painting. The images of painting, they're not buying a painting, meaning they're not buying a canvas, but they're buying a painting, a drawn image painting of a horse and calf in Meadow, something like that, right? And I might add certain tags like horse, brown horse, right? Calf. Calf, horse, and meadow. And then horses in a meadow as a tag, if I feel like that's what people are searching for, I'll scroll all the way down and just hit Save work. And congratulations, my work is public or it's gonna be public. It's just has to process 2 100%. You can give it about a minute or two to get this done because a lot of the times when the image is really, really hefty, it takes some time for all of its process, but you can already see it's on its way and it's processing. And once it gets done, my image will be public. So this is the portion of where you upload the image to read bubble, right? So we're going to move on to the next portion, which is really just a good summation of everything that we've done so far. Okay. 8. A Deeper Look into Redbubble: So let's talk about red bubble for a minute. You just seen me uploaded designed to Red Bull. If you're new to read bubble, this is probably a good introduction to what Red bubble is. And we'll talk about other, in other videos like how to tag properly on Redbubble. But this video is specifically around like almost like a tour of red bubbles. So red bubble as a website if we just had over here to an Incognito tab, type in red bubble.com. It's a website where you as an artist can upload art. You guys know that by now because you've seen me upload those certain image, that image onto various products. But typically the way it works is somebody will perform a search. So I can search for a picture of a tiger or just anything that I'm interested in. And I'll see Tiger designs in various quantities all over my search, right? So all over my, my dashboard in front of me. Now, when I perform a search, something that you want to understand, just a little guidance information with red bubbles, that red bubble, it becomes more competitive the more results there are. Now that might seem esoteric for a minute, but just think about this logically. If there are more pieces of art on a specific search, you gotta think, how often do you as a consumer go to page ten, page five, page 20 to perform a search. It's not often, right? Like if I search for tiger nine times out of ten, I'm not clicking next year. I'm gonna legitimately by whatever I see here that I actually enjoy. Or like if I enjoyed this design, I'm going to go ahead and buy it. I'm not going to go on page 15 to look for a different design, right? We know that from Google, like for example, if you perform a Google search, How often do you head over to the second or the third or the tenth page? You don't you typically just stay on the first page. You'll perform your search, you buy your product and that's it. Well, it works the same way here for Red Bull. It's not often that people will head over to the 50th page or the 100-page, buy your product. They're not looking for you're specifically right? So the way that Red bubble works is the more results that appear, the more competition there is. If you want to stand out in terms of the Red Bull algorithm and give yourself some success or a high potential or high chance to win. You might want to create some designs in areas where there are little less competitive. A good place to start is don't be afraid just to get the idea of how it works for the first five to ten designs. Create in different categories that have anywhere from 0 to 10 thousand different results. Depending on how you set up your tagging, you could potentially rank higher. Now what we're going to set up certain tips and tactics and things like that for your red bubble tagging. But the idea generally is that when you're creating certain accounts with red bubble and you're creating certain designs and uploading. Is that this idea that understanding that competition is not always the best thing is something to be aware of. A lot of the times when we're creating products outside of print on demand and we're releasing businesses and things like that. Competition is a good thing because it shows that there's a customer base. But here, competition, even though there is a customer base, we still don't want to we don't want to really prolong the amount of time until it gets to get per cell or to get views, right? So think of it this way and this is the best way I can explain it. Imagine that there's a bucket of a 100 people that really want to buy a certain product. Let's use the tiger niche as an example. Well, there's 263 thousand results. Those 100 people, if most of them are going to buy one product, maybe two products, maybe even three. But that's still, if you add up the number of products being sold, that's still nowhere near the 263 thousand results. So if you really want to succeed on Redbubble, a good way to start as a beginner is to go for this lower competition products. Now there's an easy way to figure that out. So if I add the word tiger, I can think of other words that can be added onto the keyword tiger. That can grow the, that can grow my chances of success. Also known as or another way of looking at is lower amount of results. So I could do that and I could just think of what word goes with the word tiger. What about the word tiger lover, for example? Well, if you look, the last keyword that we searched, which was Tiger, had 263 thousand results. This one has 25 thousand. So you can see here, it's a dramatic, dramatic difference and it's much more specific. And these much more specific categories and keywords actually make it better for you in terms of success long-term with red bubble. Because if, like I said, there's a bucket of x amount of people, you will have a better statistical chance of being shown in the search engine on Redbubble if there's simply just less results here. So that's something you want to be aware of when you start uploading consistently to read bubble. 9. Understanding & Studying Tags On Redbubble: So as promised, we want to talk about now studying different tags. Right? Now, when we studied different tags and how to tag properly on Redbubble, what I want you to understand is that nine times out of ten it or not even nine times out of 1010 times out of ten. If a design shows up in the search. That's because those words or keyword is being tagged. So if you see here, we search for the keyword tiger lover. I'm willing to bet that the keyword tiger and the keyword lover is found somewhere in the text. Now whether every single design that you're seeing, now whether they be separate, meaning you'll have a tag that says tat a tiger comma, lover comma. Or they could be just the keyword lover or just the keyword tiger, right? Sometimes it can be both together, but as long as those words are found somewhere in the tags, it will be found. So I'll give you an example. We can click on this design, will do this multiple times. And we can click on, let's say, this design, even though this design has nothing to animal, will work with this design first. But even though this design has literally nothing to do with Tiger lovers, this is a silhouette of Tiger Woods. Now, if we just go ahead and scroll down and we just control F, search for the word lover. So the word lovers found here in the title. But it's also, are in the description rather, but it's also found right here. Golf lover, write the word lover exists. Now let's type in the word tiger. Alright, so let's type in the word tiger. And you could see here, tiger is right there as well. So you can see here this is a perfect example, a perfect scenario, that the keywords tiger lover don't have to be combined for the results to pop up on Red Bull. Now you could say, why is this or question this. It's simply just how the algorithm is made up in a lot of the times. Our goal is not to fix necessarily the algorithm, but our goal is to play in part with the algorithm. Let's use that other example that we just saw that was at the very top of the search, which is this example right here. Remember we're looking for the keywords tiger and love, or whether it'd be together or separate. So let's go ahead and take a look here. Let's type in the word tiger. Let's type in the word lover. And we can see that the word tiger lover doesn't actually exist as a full keyword. But if we delete the keyword lover, we see that tiger exists in the tax, right? So tiger is right here. Now, let's go ahead and take a look at the keyword lover. Does the keyword lover exist? So we can type the word love first. And the keyword lover exists right there for cat lover. Now once again, the keyword lover is not stuck inside the, it is stuck inside a tag with other keywords. However, the way the red bubble system works and the Red Bull algorithm works is it looks for keywords that are anywhere in the tag set. So for example, if I type in rain forest cat, right, it's a good chance that that design can pop up somewhere, whether it'd be on the first page, ten-page, 20-page, whatever, because rain forest is found in the text and the word cat is found in the text. Doesn't necessarily have to be one tag. And you could see here, the space or the separation between each tag just really goes to identify and just shows how much of a difference there is between each tag through a comma, right? So the person who is typing this up, you're tagging as we showed you how we set up the tags in the earlier video. Just type up a word, put a comma type of word, but a common word put a comma. That's exactly what happened here. Okay? So now you have a little bit better of a grasp on tagging in red. But the point is, is if you want your design to show up, it needs to include the keyword that people are going to be searching for. So if you have a tiger design, it's important to use the keyword tiger when people are searching for the design so that you can actually show up. If your design has a forest, use the keyword forest just to show that it has these different keywords. Something that you do want to pay attention to is remember the concept of competition. Even though your design may incorporate certain details, it's still important to understand that competition still exists. If I was to create a design for the keyword tiger and add the keyword tiger and my tags. I'm still competing against 263 thousand results. But if I want to stand out, maybe I might want to add the keyword tiger lover in my tags, because now I'm competing with 32 thousand as opposed to 260 something thousand. So hopefully that makes a difference and hopefully that's understandable. The reason why this is very important is because if you want to create a design that stands out, it's easier to stand out amongst a smaller group than a larger group. Okay, so let's go ahead and move on to the next lesson. 10. A Great Alternative To Redbubble: So are there any alternatives to read bubble? And of course there are. A really good option that I like to go with is Fine Art America. It's a website that you can use to literally do the exact same method and upload the exact same thing that you guys are seeing and everything we've just done, right? Taking a photo, turning it into a painting, and uploading it here to Fine Art America is a perfect place to be. In fact, I would say that sometimes Fine Art America is even sometimes a better option. The thing that I really, really like about Fine Art America is that you're allowed to upload canvas prints. Now these canvas prints can come in all different colors and forms and all different kinds of things. You look here like a canvas, print like this. You can do this with the methods that we've seen. And more importantly, it could bring in a passive income for you specifically with print-on-demand, turning the photos that you love into paintings and sharing that joy with everybody else. So Fine Art America.com is a great option as an alternative. Something that I would say even a tip or like a piece of guidance. Don't be afraid to use both. Red bubble n Fine Art America posting the exact same photo you are allowed to, especially in the policies are both red bubble n Fine Art America. You're allowed to take the art and posted on both sites. So don't be afraid to do that. 11. Why We Scale Images Size: So the reason why we scale images when we're uploading to the red bubble as different images that we've seen. For example, if I wanted to upload this image and I'll scale it up. The reason why I'll scale this specific image up is because what I don't want a situation like what you're seeing on the screen right now. When you upload certain images that are smaller, the size or maybe they don't look as good and they're just maybe look better when they're compact. The problem is, is that they don't fit properly on products. And when they don't fit properly, it's hard to sit here and claim and say that somebody is actually truly looking to buy that product. I'll give you an example. This desk mat right here. Alright. Desk maps are great products that are sold at high frequent amounts on Redbubble. The only problem is this product has a whole big white background space. And you can see here how the image changes. Not too many people are actually going to want to buy this now because of this white background space, It's important that when you're adding images to products that they're actually, they look professional, they look clean, they look something like this drawstring bag. It just doesn't look right. There's a gap at the bottom. There's a gap the right, or even this clock for example. Now you can see here when a product doesn't fit properly on an image, red bubble will not even enable the image for you. If you want to mandate enable it, then you'll enable it. But you could see here it's not manually enabled. The reason why is because red bubble is basically telling you covertly that, Hey, your image does not look good on this product. Don't add it, don't put it for sale because nobody's going to buy it anyway. So the reason why we scale images up is because we want by default all these sections here to be enabled. And if they're all enabled, that means they're placed properly and they're big enough size. What I like to do is I like to scale up to fourteen thousand, fifteen thousand pixels. Some people might be confused and say, well that's too much, because if I scale it up that much than my image is not going to look good on the product because it's pixelated. Well to that, I would say you have to revert back to the first few lessons that we even talked about, which is picking the right photos and more importantly, picking the right resource where you get your photos from. If you're not getting the right photos, then it's just simply not the right job for you. You have to make sure that uploading the right products, they need to be clear, they need to be non pixelated, not blurry. They need to look very, very good. And like I said, we went over this in one of the very first lessons where you pick the right software that is going to provide you the right images. There are a lot of different platforms out there that don't provide the good images and you wouldn't be able to scale them up. You need to make sure you're able to scale them up. Okay? And when I scale them up, And when you scale them up, you're gonna get more bang for your buck because you're gonna get more products for sale. You can see here this example of this iPad case. Do you see how this gap exists there on the bottom and the top, we don't want that. We want the image to fully cover everything. So that's kinda why I scale up these images. 12. Can you Use The Designs/Images On Multiple Print On Demand Sites: So a common frequent question I get is can you use the same designs just like the one you're seeing here on multiple different websites? And the answer is absolutely. In fact, we're going to talk about what other alternative that I actually recommend to read bubble. But yes, you absolutely can use these images that you're using on Redbubble and upload them to a different platform as well. There are a lot of different platforms for print-on-demand out there. There's many that exist, but not all are created equal. I'll share with you guys one of my favorites for this style method that I believe works really, really well in the next video. 13. A Summation of The Course: Okay, so let's go ahead and do a summation of the course in its entirety. We began by talking about the benefits in the introduction of print on-demand and why it's so beneficial being that you don't have to go ship a product. You don't have to package it. You don't have to even buy the manufacturing or being responsible for any of that. All you have to do is really create the product posted on marketplace like Redbubble and you'll be good to go. We also talked about how to shift a photograph into a painting, but specifically to find the right photograph. We talked about the different solutions where you can get these photographs if you're not necessarily photographer. And then we shifted those photographs into paintings. We effectively posted them on red bubble. And we posted them with a really high yield of trying to maximize the amount of products that we're posting our products on or excuse me, our design on. So it could be t-shirts, it can be pet products, it can be a desk map, whatever it might be, it could even be addressed, or iPad case or an iPhone case, whatever the product is. So in this course, we really went through a lot here. And the thing is, is that even though it's easy, it takes just a few clicks to convert a photo into a painting. The really cool thing is that we can apply this to print on-demand. So hopefully you enjoyed the course. It's gonna be really beneficial if you go through and just really complete the project and get it done if you haven't done it already. Because that way the information all sticks and you'll be able to do this over and over and over again. And you can really take the benefits of this course. So thank you guys for watching the course. It was great time. I had a lot of fun teaching this course. And hopefully you guys are going to have a lot of fun applying this interior print on-demand journey. Alright, I'll talk to you guys later. Enjoy. See you for now. Bye.
