1. Introduction: So this is going to be a brief course on how to travel with a budget. It's good to start with planning and preparing a budget. And then it's going to talk about specific details and ways to find deals for flights, accommodation, transportation, attractions, eating, as well as a few miscellaneous things. It's going to be easily accessible to everyone as in, it's all found online and it's not specific deals like you have to be a particular membership or have relations to a travel agent. You anyone can access them and anyone can find and book these deals. 2. Your 3 Levels of Budget: I'm just going to be about how to start planning your budget and sort of to have three levels of your overall entire budget. So the first would be targeted amount. So when you add up how much you plan your accommodation, your flights, when you actually booked everything. We've added everything up. That is your target amount. Because it's how much you believe just through the actual numbers you have, you've already booked. That is how much you're going to spend. Box. Of course, with traveling. It'll always an unexpected things happening. So it's important to have then two other levels of your budget that was hotter than your target. So first, if your target is say, £400, your plan B, the second level might be it ranges. It could be five hundred, six hundred, just depending on what type of traveling that you expect to do. Also just knowing yourself and the destination that you're going to. How you might want to go somewhere else. A different city, or go to more expensive attraction or upgrade to different accommodation. If that's all possible, then you might need it even higher. Budget for Plan B then just maybe 25 or 35 per cent what you might need, 40 or 50. Also, on the other end, if you know that you're not going to go anywhere else than places that you've already planned and book, then you can maybe just have a sort of plan B of maybe 15 or 20 per cent. So going to number three, that is the concrete maximum. So for instance, or if you happen to book accommodation that you really didn't like or something that you didn't research. Well, I would make a complete maximum. That is at least maybe a 100% more. This doesn't necessarily include very large emergencies. Of course, if you have a thousand pounds and your bank account in totality, you probably shouldn't go on holiday or travel with 60% of that amount of money. As your fleet maximum. Frequency of maximum, it would be quite a lot more than your target just to be on the safer side. But that's how I would plan the overall trip and budget just to make sure that one doesn't get disappointed if they're over their target. Because Plan B is always more likely to happen than not. Just depending on how much. But as always, there's always unexpected things. Always. So the two always expect Plan B basically. And just to always have, make sure that you have much more in case of emergencies as well. 3. Flights: This section is going to be on how to possibly save on flights and booking flight. So first rule flights if you haven't heard of everybody. So you just first go on google.com and then searching, for example, where you want to go. So destination Birmingham, and then pass. So I'll type in exactly Birmingham to Paris. Then it should bring up this page. And then you would click the Flights tab. In the other options as images, videos, but just to click the Flights tab. And then it should bring you to a page that show something like this and you click on it. And it shows all the flights would be available for a certain preset date that they have. If you click on date, it should show you a calendar like this that pops up. And it shows you all the prices for each date and you just click the arrows and change the months and years that you would like to see. And I'll show you the dates that you got to click one way round trip. Of course I will change the prices. You can also search through nonstop, one-stop. How many passengers as well, and such by airline. So if you have flexible dates, I've you know, a particular destination. This is really quite helpful as you can just find the least expensive days usually, because it's making the week weekdays and it's usually not going to be Friday with return on Sunday, that's probably one of the most expensive consistently. Another way is if you know your departure, but you don't necessarily know where you want to go when you don't mind specific city. You just want the lowest prices. So you can then just type in, for example, Birmingham flights to on Google. Then find flight tab. It might be the top or at the end. So a drop-down menu possibly. And then it'll bring you to something like this page. I'm going to hit flights and then show you a map. You click on the map to open it up. And then it will show you a region as you move from at Brown, update and show the various airports and cities with their prices. This is just sort of in the next six months. You can click for specific dates as well, but also just gives you an overview of how expensive usually source and destination. Or you can get a gauge of where it is possible as well with this sort of second search feature or method on group like you can then sort of see if you want to go too big, actually want to grow in Rome. But for some reason not. Airports very expensive. Maybe on that day tomorrow, maybe you'll find out there's actually another airport nearby that's a lot cheaper to fly to so that you can calculate or would just go like that and then somehow get transportation to the actual seed that you want. So that is a helpful function to actually know, watch cities or airports that your departure party airport actually even flies too. And then the previous, the first 1 first, the glorified method of searching just gives you that specific. Once you have a location, then you can just check the dates, check the prices for each day. Just to know as well though that there are few airlines. I think for the most part, the majority of airlines and Google Slides, there's just a few that sometimes they just didgeridoo show up on Google Slides. You can search flights are also website called Sky scanner. So they also have multi-city. So if you don't want to maybe depart from the same airport that you landed in, back to your home city. Or you want to go to, It's different when you go back to the country. So if you don't want to learn by onto land London, there's an option called multi-city, and they have packages on there. It's similar to Google Flights and that Bernard actually affiliated with Compass specific airline or anything. They just how are the general search engine? Another website is Expedia, if you also haven't heard of it. Sure. Those I think maybe an airline that wasn't on a Google Flights that one of the airlines that for some reason go flights doesn't show. And there was a flight to somewhere in East Asia where it was less expensive by few, two of $300. Then on Google Flights because that airline was not showing on Google Flights. It's like go fly Expedia skies kinda they just aggregate a lot of different flight and fight codes and then show you potential flight routes that are various airlines offline to show how many options are facing. All options that you have. A different type of website. And also there are many websites like those. So not just limited to those three, there are a lot more. But different type of website is just a blog website where they just post deals, flight deals. So for example, this is the flight deal. And it just shows certain deals that users or people that operate the website file. Another option too, that is Facebook groups. And there are some groups where they have, if you were just posting deals that they personally found as well. Some of them, they include error fights, are companies that airlines are mistakenly price flight. So if it's extremely low, for example, but Birmingham to Dubai for £10, it most likely sometimes a lot of these get cancelled. So not to depend on that as your only method of transportation and to book non-refundable accommodation. Those are quite rare, but sometimes very good deals. Anyways. And there are probably a lot of sites, not just the flight DO that, do this are again just research, especially depending on your region as well. So also similar but sort of in a reverse way is that good applauding airport. So if you happen to live near international or two different airport. So for example, if you live in Washington and then you have to add wars and look for airport as well. You can search the two to see if there's any price differences to destinations I want to go to as well. 4. Accomodation: This section is just going to be about how to pass the fine details in terms of accommodation to get with hotels. So this first option you would just be to go on Google and to look for, for example, hotels, Birmingham, wherever you want to stay. It will show a map. And some of the hotels that you can do love different ways to search for it or gone map and to see what new push you would like to stay in as well. And you can filter it through budget or some Amadeus actually would lie. But for example, if I clicked on this travelers in Birmingham occupancy, Those usually list of where to book a hotel from different hotel booking site. Because that might be helpful if some of them may give a refund bowl service or alarmed. If you see it on, for example, Expedia, that same website for the flight, you could search for a promotion specific to Expedia. They give, generate the customers and then they can fight hotels. And then you have a promotion code for the website in regards to hotels, and then get an extra discount for that. Too. Ghoulish. Just sort of a general example to see what sort of hotels that are in the seat that you're going to visit. And then there are sites, for example, of Priceline, especially steel or hot wire. Not combat hot we're hot deals. So they are the business model for that is they have hotels but in certain areas, so they'll give you put for where it is. North or near downtown Birmingham or central bank, him, then they won't tell you the specific hotel, but they'll give you the stars or the hotel star rating. So this is sold if you want to save money, but there's not exact hotel. They don't tell you until you book. It. Can be promotion codes for this as well. Usually these types of deals are nonrefundable. So to make sure that you would be satisfied with the description before booking it. Hot Hot deals operate on the same model. These person Hotwire are specific to the United States or the website companies from that. So there might of course be similar websites on similar business model in different regions that do some research and see if that I'll deal with that you can find that way for the region that you're going to trump to. Another option is with companies and websites that offer it on a sort of last minute deal model where they can offer hotels. I haven't yet reached full capacity. That one too. Deals knights coming soon. So there are few companies and websites, if you Google, that operates in this way. I believe that they can also have extra promo codes on top of that. So just to touch those as well, of course, that can be done option of social media, similar to finding flights. So faces or blogs, Hodge post deals for hotels or osteo hometown flight packages to make sure that you look for websites like those. So this citizen action, so this next option is going to be less conventional hotels to be about Airbnb. Insights like it, like vivo. So basically when people have property or they want to rent part of their own home to people who like to rent a room there. So this next option is going to be less conventional that hotels airbnb until I like it. I agree, bro, and many other similar business models. So what this does, so this option is going to be about, so this option is going to be about less conventional method of accommodation. I'm done. Hotels, airbnb and sites likely it like VE Pro and probably many others as well that are similar in the business model where someone rents that part of the poverty or the second or holiday poverty. You can book a room or you can book entire place to start is having already have a couch. There's some discounts when you first signed up. So make sure you look for promotion code online for booking. First. Ship with I've NP and other sites probably have the same sort of promotion code. And then there are some new host that I have a new new to Airbnb listings. So they, they usually give something like 20% off coupon. So if you can find listings through that, and then also if you are designing to stay longer, you can extend it for a week. And there will be weekly discount usually given by the host, the specific host, and then also for months. So they might give 30% discount or whatever the host decides. If you decide to say 28 or 29 days and over versus a week will have a smaller discount usually. And then just a few days, there's usually no discount. In terms of duration. And another option if you're staying over, you want to stay long term is that if you go to countries and it has specific websites for finding rental, normal, long-term tenants are letting. Sometimes if you message landlord and ask if you want to stay a month or two months for short-term, just as sort of holiday letting. They may allow batch usually they might ask for more than the state of rental income, but it can be even less expensive than Airbnb. No option on Airbnb. You can find some longer term rentals. Maybe even if you're just three weeks or two weeks, some people are willing, but you just need to add. Another option is with hostels, own private room, so you share rooms with others. Bunk beds are lots of birds. And to note though, there's actually some hostels that have private rooms as well. So usually the cost similar to Austria hotel, but until lives don't really show on such sites. So if a specific location that would be ideal if we want to stay. Those also option to look through hospitals. 5. Attractions & Sights: Be on how to save or find offers for a lot of traction. So you may want to see this. This always goes back to planning and also knowing yourself. So one of the sites would be Groupon, their operating few countries. But it's originally or you own United States company. So we just type in the location of a city, your face, you're going to be. You can click on the categories, things to do for activities. Or you can also just search as well on the website for specific site or related activity that you want to do. And how they operate is that day. So something if, for example, the shard in London is attraction and you want it also for maybe £30 regularly, thirty-five pounds. And then Andre pond, they can sell it for maybe £19 instead of buying a voucher, three books voucher. So there was always terms and conditions under the deal. So if it might expire within two months of your purchasing, purchasing it. So make sure that you don't decide to go to London every year and purchase it, and then it will expire by that. So always read the term conditions. There's also things that can be limited, such as you can't use on week, weekend, or you have to pre-book before. So you'd have to call person or company that is actually giving way to deal. The one that is actually the tracks had to go into and call them to be booked before purchasing the Groupon, which basically just means it relate to a coupon. So make sure that you know, for shirts you want to use this attraction, you want to buy this deal voucher before going because it's hard to get a refund fewer hours after you purchase it. Also usually they have deals, extra details on top of the voucher that's specific to the deal itself. So they might have a whole, entire 20% off coupon for the site. Some deals for new users that compared to 20%. And there could be deals that are specific to maybe a health and beauty related to a massage or something that is hard three per cent. So just to also just make sure that you go and look for a lot of different coupons likable to one side, just wow, before purchasing a matcher. Similar to that would be if you're in the UK, the Virgin experience days or this website. They have similar, very similar message is that you purchase a deal, a voucher beforehand. There are also many similar companies specific to regions. So if you are going to, I know in Asia that there was one, I can't remember the name that was very similar in its operations and it was in Singapore. So if you want to always just research, there are probably many, many companies. Make sure that they are reliable and make sure to always read the terms and conditions as well. So besides us, maybe specific vouchers or deal sites for specific attractions or events or experiences. That can be a package includes many attractions, like the company city pass, or for example, individual cities or countries. The government or tourism board having their own specific details. For example, if I go to Paris, the French government assigns this museum pass. So it can happen for you purchase a certain amount and that allows you unlimited attractions on the list for one day or three days or five days, and they'll have different price points depending on the duration. Again, these can also have terms and conditions, or they might allow only maximum of ten attractions day. Or these tractions would be difficult for you to book them. So you need to compare if the ones that you really want to go to or if you don't mind, whatever's in the package. And you need to compare individually. If you were to buy it separately or on a deal side, just for specific attraction versus pack tractions. And also how long are you going to stay again, if you can go through everything in that short amount of time, or if you would just rather buy individually and then have time that you can plan just for your own, for yourself on your own schedule. Often mention that sometimes these packages, if the private company, usually they can be found on your site. So to look out for that as well, just to make sure you always do your research. Sometimes there's also cause things that you can do free. So again, just grows back to just researching a lot of free things to do Paris or a free things to do wherever. So in UK for example, a lot of free museums. But if you don't like museums than they might be gardens. If you don't like that, then you can search things that you specifically bike to do. There's also some things are free. On certain days or after certain hours. They might be discounts after certain hours as well. So if you have a search in credit card or something, they might give you discount for or a resident, or if your student discounts a senior as well. So to do that research as well, to look at Google, what previous pupils said, Trip Advisor, there's blogs, they're the website of the traction itself. They can advertise that on Facebook as well. Twitter. Just make sure that you do research. Alternatively. So if you, for example, are willing to maybe change some of the thoughts of you. So if it's not an absolute moss to go on top of the Eiffel Tower. Maybe you're willing to just see how a very sort of more aerial view I've taught. And you can maybe go to a free hillside of Pogge or some very high coined that you can see it from. Or you can go to a building or a restaurant that's nearby. Dogs. Very elevated so you can have a meal whilst also seeing the side. So it's not just completely limited to that. That's just if you're willing to have something similar. But if you know that you want to go to a specific, specific experience, then of course, just research the possible deals are offered at the time. That can do that for last time out than usual. 6. Local Transport: So this section is just going to be about how to save on local transport. So from the airport there are usually a few options, public transport chain, and also maybe the bus. So this section is garage for your own. How to possibly safe in terms of this section is going to be hard to possibly say in terms of local transportation. So that usually a few options after Apple Watch, maybe a train or a boss. And of course taxi. Some countries they have shared taxis. Some, if you walk away or take a different boss away from the airport and you can get on a cheaper bus or a mode of transportation. So usually if you maybe research and then pre, purchase these tickets, they can be cheaper. There are also maybe Facebook groups or something where you can, some countries where it might be easier to range, especially depending on where the airport is, how they usually some things where you can have just sort of get shared taxis or shared bands there. So another type of mode of transportation would be from city to city. So for example, if in Spain and want to come to Boston to Valencia, you don't have to maybe take the train or the bus. You could share with someone who is possibly the most likely going to be local to the country and they just want to go to the city, goes to the city anyways. But they have empty seats on there wanting to find passengers to pay for it. So usually those will be more efficient because a driver usually goes on time to when they say also they don't stop at other places. And it's more comfortable because it's stretched or it can be because it's not really knowledge boss or not multiple, that many passengers. And the price is probably the best in terms of the types of surveys are private, environment and viability versus something that's more expensive. So that is found through blah, blah, call ELA. Ela. There can be other websites or operate on companies to operate on similar business model from different countries and faces. So also just to research staff for that type of method of transportation. Also for some cities that are bus passes. Again, if you have a discount, maybe if your senior student, um, maybe the all pores and packages written gods to transportation serve. You have unlimited writing for maybe the local trains or sort of trend, as well as buses. And then not to be maybe purchased in one day and three days or some type of duration. Or also maybe you have ten bytes. So not in times duration, but just in terms of number of ice. It can be less expensive than to purchase them at once. The car. There's also a possibility that if you look at rental cost locations that are not at the airport, they usually, they can be less expensive than the rent cars with patients that are at the airport. And also better to usually pre-book. If you decide to drive the car around and you need places to park. Sometimes it's easier to just pay for parking at other people's parking spot so they'll rent it out. Example is just park dot com. And if you look at a new find the location where your pipe, they'll show you. Parking spots are basically rented and they're usually cheaper than private car parks. And also a website called pedia. My kids. I'm three spots to talk to. With this. You can look depending on country to look for similar sites with similar business model. If those specific companies are not available in these regions to travel to. 7. Eating: This section is just going to be on how to possibly safe in regards to food expenses are eating. The first part is probably a lot easier if you know how to cook, even if the job is just to bring electrical hub or hop on the train, or if you buy one and can possibly bring it back with you to have in your accommodation. So you can cook meals or heat things up and not necessarily have to eat out. Not separate B is easier to. Other tip is that there are some superstars in supermarkets that hot, hot food or sort of sort of hop. Another tip is that some supermarkets have hot food ball with cooks additions that are usually less expensive than at restaurants or stalls, food stalls. My tip would just be that all voucher sites for restaurants such as Groupon has eating section. Raj experience has some restaurants as well and the specific food related sites as well. So also just to research those, for example, Yelp.com, That's fair us reviewing food types. Sometimes they have coupons for specific restaurant. But just also just look through, just search for certain food related deals. Besides. 8. Saving in Other Areas of Travel: Miscellaneous. There are few things. One would be to make sure if you're going into a country with different electric adapters, are the sagas different to buy adopter before traveling because they're usually more expensive. And if you're at the other country ready, we might spend a lot of time trying to find it as well. So just to have that doctors before you go is very important because you need to charge your electronics right away. You don't have time to spend looking for them necessarily. Second would be docked. You could actually bring cooked food on the EPS anguish here. So instead of just buying it Airport, which is usually much more expensive than buying at a restaurant outside or making it a home or supermarket buyer from supermarkets. And you can just do that instead of buying it at airport or buying an ad, say, as long as it's not wet foods like soups or stews. If it's a sandwich with maybe some beans inside as long as they're not very wet. Usually that the airport security won't mind and it can go through the security check. And also if you bring a empty water bottle, plastic, or some type of holder for liquids. Liquids through security of a certain amount, certainly not enough to stay hydrated. So you for bringing that holder. And finally you feel station or you can ask a restaurant or Starbucks or something in type airport to help you refill. Or if you don't have a whole new pictures, ask them for cathode vote would be currency exchange, or there are some banks are institutions that offer most I would debit cards might be some credit cards are related to offering good exchange rates or the exchange rates as they actually are that day. Without trudging a fees. Also, possibly, for example, if in United States there's a button called Charles Schwab. So if you have that debit card, you can withdraw $2 thousand a day from ATM. If you are in France, for example, you go to the ATM and withdraw that money in Euro so you can use it. Since that's the currency they use there. And there won't be any exchange developing and fed exchange rate. And also there won't be any fees were using ATM if at all. For that particular ATM, it will rebate you for those transform for rebooting for those fees. There are many other banks that I'm probably have something similar, if not as inclusive, but of these certain things that are waived. And also it's important to have the currency that may be important to have the conceive. You don't have something like that. Where to exchange it. Maybe beforehand or a little bit at least beforehand. Because if you were to have no money of that cozy and arrive at the airport, usually they're the most expensive places for currency exchange to charge you the highest exchange rates than most inflated. So it's always important to have at least some privacy. I'm Dr. go into the country off. So no one was Spanish tip is that if you, for example, want to store your luggage, so maybe the last day to a fly and you have to check out by 11 inch pumpkin peptides, then maybe ask them to help store luggage for you to pay them. Or if he would have been a guest, there always has to ask the host as well. But if you want to go somewhere, move further away from the accommodation, you want to explore that. And then you can also just look for websites that have they operate on the business model of renting out basically luggage, storage space. For example, in London, some knick-knacks stores or grocery stores, they just have luggage storage sites that just go on the website and you find ones are near you. And then you purchase it and then go to the actual location. 9. Conclusion & Project: So that's, and of course, some things to always remember is to know why you want to go on a particular trip. What you really want to do, what you can do maybe next time or something that isn't an absolute must. So you can walk around your budget just to make sure that you're realistic as well. And if you know that you have to Kimberly to stick to a budget or not, then I will, of course, change how much your different levels of budget can be. Then also, a big thing would be to research, research, research and locked it, that it would help you find deals. Maybe if you don't want to research that much and you're okay with just finding the what you've already found, then that's okay as well. But if you really wanted to know sort of more your options, then of course just to do more. So also something that might help with keeping your plan B or your budget dog due to an expected surprises would be to research this nation Viola, to research how difficult or how easy it is to get to such insights. Then you can definitely try to minimize the amount of surprises that you will be just two, if you have a certain ship or the first strip that you would like to take in mind. Then you would write down and then have realistic views, three levels of budget. And I would separate them into producer from columns. I could try a table. And then to help what accurately predict these budgets would be to write down what you've learned about the site or the city or place that you're going to travel to. And also to write down what you realistically would like to do the most, and things that you can forego and things that you can afford as well, just to help accurately predict your budget.
