1. Introduction: If you're someone
who isn't following self-improvement YouTubers
for quite awhile. You've seen their channels and you've thought to yourself, I want to give that go. I've been on my own self
movement journey and I want to share that message. Or if you're someone
who's looking to start your own self-improvement YouTube channel and have your own unique kind of
initial, own unique audience. You don't want to be a copycat. You don't want to do
what everyone else does. You want to do something a
little bit different that stands out and hopefully
gets you some traction. If you're someone
who wants to start that kind of self-improvement
YouTube channel, then this course is for you.
2. Establishing your own kind of channel: I'm going to have
to do is establish what kind of self-improvement channel you would like to be. Because there's quite
a different range of directions you
can take or channel. You have channels such
as Hamza where it's very self-improvement
driven, only quite fast, quite snappy channels
like first man, whereas they still just
sitting in front of the camera and talking other channels like better ideas where it's
a lot more cinematic. You want to kind of figure
out what essentially, essentially what kind of
niche is going to work for you within self-improvement. Because if you just try to be a carbon copy of
another channel, it's not really going to work. And even if you
do gain traction, you'll forever going
to be in a shadow. That's the issue, right? If you just be a complete copy, you will forever be in
that channel shadow. You won't be able to
establish yourself as your own kind of creator, which will be a problem for you long-term if you want to
create a business out of this. So what I suggest you to try
do is take a piece of paper, write down some channels that
you find quite interesting, and have a look at that content. Have a thing to what you've done in your own
self-improvement journey? Is there things that you can put your own spin on all
their experiences specific to you that
nobody else has gone through and you think you
can provide value on that? That's the real question. Can you provide unique value that no one else has
been able to do? No one's gone through the
exact experiences you have, all the specific things
that you've gone through. The you think that
other people can get value from properly situations that a lot of people
have gone through. But no one's made
a video on that. If you are the ones who
make a video on that, wherever that may be, maybe it's related to school, it straight to fitness,
meditation, etc. It can be related to anything
within that umbrella. The beauty of having a self-improvement channel
is with your content. You're helping
other people start their own journey
and you're building a small kind of community you can use to
grow your own audience. Think of other niches. Think about the
trends as well that you could use to
kick-start your channel. For example, like Challenge
videos always do very well. For example, I did
x for 30 days. I had meditated for 30 days. Here's why I love or I started
working out for 30 days. Who MR. results,
things like that. And try put your own spin
on it, unique to you. You know how channels
such as Mr. piece, he's got all the side characters
or something like that. That's a bit unique
to your channel. I'm also in terms
of the characters, other people in the videos, if you want to, you can, but you see how it's
got that kind of vibe. Where it's, it's something that is unique to
their own channel. It's like a side story almost because there's
always an element of storytelling is bringing to your videos to really stand out. I'll see you in the next lesson.
3. Production quality & Story telling: Now something that's
quite important that we really want to focus on when we're making videos is the production quality
of the videos. If they're super low production, call it E, then opened to
be that enjoyable to watch. The first thing I suggest
is if you want to take this self-improvement
channel seriously, invest in a good microphone. Make sure your audio is decent. Because with bad audio, the video is kind of ruined. Your video isn't as important, believe it or not, your
video is not as important. There's a good chance
that your phone will probably suffice
in the beginning. But a decent microphone
is essential. It is 100% essential. So make sure that you
can get a good mic. You can get like 30.3040, $40 pounds, so you can get a
decent one standalone mic. Ensure that you've got that. When it comes to the video, what really adds to a video
is the story that you tell. It's storytelling essentially. Learning how to not just tell the information that's
required of the video. You don't want to
just state the facts. You want to take the
viewer along the journey. You want to take them along a transformation almost
that they can follow. Because if you are
able to tell a story, there are so much more
likely to remember it and actually use your voice. Unless you make a difference. If you're able to tell a
decent story, you can craft. For example, for example, one of the videos
I suggested before was a challenge kind of video. You can take them
along how you are feeling going from day one, day two, day three of this
star IDA a challenging. You bridged out
altogether with B-roll, which is essentially
footage that you play over when
you're speaking. Just to add to the effect of
what you're talking about. Bringing that all together. We'll create a story
for the viewer about whatever you're speaking about in your self-improvement
channel. Let's say in this video, you're talking about habits. Well, tell them a story. Tell them how you went from
not being able to concentrate and stick to a routine
to now being able to talk about the emotions that you felt as you were
going through that, the lessons you
learn along the way, what was taught, what was easy. And that will help them, that will help guide the viewer into watching your videos, which would essentially give you more views, more watch time. And that'll help yourself
improvement channel to grow. See you guys in the next video.
4. Using shortform content to kickstart your growth: Other social media platforms can be used to really
accelerate your growth. Instagram and TikTok
on there you can get views very easily in
comparison to YouTube. And you can use that to
kick stop your channel, to kick start your YouTube. Essentially. Alice had earlier
challenges do very well. So during challenges on Tiktok, on Instagram that are related to what your
channel is about. If you're leaning more towards self-improvement
and fitness than you would be like a
fitness related challenge. You put the highlights of
that on Instagram, on tiktok. It could easily get
thousands of views. You link your channel, and that can just give
it a little boost. You can use little snippets on these ads, which
is what I do. I use little snippets. I put little snippets
of my main content on these, on these platforms. And then I take that fraction and I push it to my YouTube where
they get the full, they get the full rendition, they get the full
video on new sheet. And that's kind of
what you want to do. You can use it other
platforms to bring in more attraction because there's just more reach on these
other attractions, as well as using YouTube shorts, lots of short form content. So the 10 second kind of videos, 2030, 42nd videos in portrait. They can get lots
and lots of views, lots of lots of coverage
of your content. Using them, taking like your main channel content and turning it into a
short form can be very good to just kick start
your growth and kickstart your channel in terms of gaining some traction with
your self-improvement. And out of that, your cultivate some true fans who like your longer
form content, which is maybe it's
slightly slower paced or it's slightly different
compared to your shorts. And you'll have a conversion of those viewers to your
main channel content. So make sure you use
short form content and you use these other
platforms like YouTube, shorts, Instagram, Tiktok
to kick-start your growth. I'll see you guys
in the next one.
5. Closing Tips: All right, So finish
off with the course. One final tip die I do recommend is when you get
your channel going, see if you can start to do collaborations with
other smaller channels. Because you guys can leverage
each other's audience. And what's even better is that if your channels are
kind of different, they're not, they're
not super similar. I mean, they all quite
similar in the fact that they're both going to be
around about self-improvement. But what you guys do
is slightly different. Maybe one of you guys
has more of a focus on like a certain
type of fitness. One guy has more focused
on meditation and you guys come together and you guys like blend your audiences together. That can be citing
this really powerful. And it can give you other ideas on what kind of
videos you want to make. Because maybe that one
does better than usual. And you're like, maybe I want to bring that kind of
element of his channel, her channeled into my own. Definitely consider doing
collaborations with other creators who are similar
in your subscribe account. Or maybe they have slightly
more, slightly less, but as long as they're around the number of subset you have, it would make sense to
give a collaboration ago. So definitely keep that
in mind and as well. Just to recap, get a
journal out, right, ideas down from different self-improvement
YouTubers write down that best videos
that I've done well and see which ones
stick out to, you. See which ones seek out. So you can you start
your own trend? Can you start your own kind of challenge that no one
else has done before? It's going to take a
lot of trial and error. Take a look in the
project description right now to have a look
at some of the exercises that I've recommended
to start thinking of the direction you want to take your
self-improvement channel. Try the exercises out, and I hope you have found
this course helpful. See you guys in the next one.
