How to Reveal Art in Procreate for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts

1. Introduction: Have you seen an art reveal video and wondered how people do it so you could do it too? The art reveal videos are not only fun to watch and share with your friends and family, but they are also fun to make, especially for Instagram and TikTok and YouTube Stories. It's a creative way to boost engagement with your community. Hi, my name is Eva, and I am an illustrator and content creator based in Europe. In this class, I will show you quick, fun and easy way how you can create your own art reveal videos from your artworks, and I will be using Procreate and Instagram Reels. If you have TikTok or use YouTube stories, you can post your art reveal videos there too. Before we start, don't forget to follow me here on Skillshare and if you are on Instagram, let's be friends, there too. Let's start and let's share your art in engaging way with your friends and community on social media. See you in the class. 2. Idea and Project: Before we dive into creating our art reveal video, let's talk about some basics like what is actually an art reveal and why to do it? Also, how do you need to prepare your artwork for this type of short video and where can you share it? Art reveals are videos that you can make for yourself, share with your family and friends, as well as on social media. I think they are really fun way to show your artworks because they can create these magical feeling of before and after. I just love watching them. I'm sure your friends and family would like to see an art reveal of your artwork too. To record an art reveal video, you need to prepare your artwork in layers. I recommend minimum of two layers. One layer for what we can call before, which can be a line art or a grayscale version of your art. One layer for after, which will be the finished colored illustration. Art reveal videos are great for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Stories. In this class, I will show you how to share them in Instagram Reels because I mainly share my art on Instagram, as many of us artists do. Now, before we start, take few minutes to select one of your artworks that you think will be great fit for an art reveal video. I recommend portrait artworks ratio because they work the best with how the reals are shown on Instagram. I also recommend you to choose an artwork for which you already have a line art. As I mentioned in the intro, I will be using Procreate. However, feel free to use any other digital drawing app or software where you have ability to use layers. Okay. Now, let's start creating and see you in the next video. 3. Layers and Layout: For this Art Reveal, I chose this artwork because it has a long format. The long format ratio works both for TikTok or for Instagram because the preview of the videos is in this ratio. But then the preview, if you want to post it in the feed of Instagram, would be more in the square format. Let's prepare a file which we can use for recording. First, you will need sketch of your artwork. It can be more loose format of the sketch where you don't have all the details so it's more like approximate layout. What do you want to create. Or if I go back to the gallery, you can see I added more details to my sketch, where it looks quite nice when you want to do the Art Reveal because it's fun to see exactly where the colors and everything will be in this more detailed sketch. On this one, you see there is no background, so I can easily import the layer into my final layout. I also have flowers because I can add them as a decoration to the side of the Art Reveal, especially when you start the Art Reveal, it's more like a black and white or basically gray and white, it doesn't have much color. It's nice to have some color on the side before the Art Reveal, but we will talk about the preview and the start of the Art Reveal later. If I would want to go create the Art Reveal file, I would be thinking, "Which part of this file would be visible in the square format in the field?" If you would zoom in, it will be probably something like this, this type of size. I would want to have in the file my name. It can be a full name or it can be your signature. Then we will have the line art, what we talked about, and maybe some decoration and elements if you want to bring more colors to it. But we can look at the Canvas size. You can have an idea what I'm using here. I'm using 1,800 pixels by 2,300. This type of DPI, which is okay for posting on Instagram, it doesn't have to be 300 like for printing, so for this one it's fine. Then you would import the artwork, which would be the final artwork. Let's look at that. This will be the final artwork. If you don't have your final artwork saved in the camera earlier, you can open the Canvas with your final artwork and save to the camera roll. To do that, go to "share", select "JPEG" and save to camera roll. Then in our Canvas, which we are preparing for the Art Reveal, you can import this final artwork from your camera roll now. I would say, "Insert a Photo", select the picture I just exported. I would need to zoom out a little bit to see it better, make sure that we have the uniform scaling option selected. I will match it approximately to the artwork which I already have there. If you are starting your Art Reveal Canvas from the scratch, of course it wouldn't have this other image to align with, which I have there already now. In here I'm making the imported final artwork image smaller because I'm blending to add the decorative flowers to the corner, which you don't have to add if you don't want to. If you don't have anything there, just choose approximate layout and you will see these guiding lines which will help you. Now I have the artwork, and as you can see, I have it twice there. I don't need that. You can just merge it together. I need only one. Then we will need a line art. In order for us to align it, the line art and our original artwork, you would need to reduce the opacity of the original artwork you would want to reveal. Here, as you can see now, I imported the rough sketch. Let me zoom in so you'll see it better. What do you want to do is to align it approximately with your final artwork. We choose here. You always want to zoom outside of the lines because if you start zooming here, then you would move the line art which you don't want, so we need to do this and then approximately align it with our artwork here. But as I mentioned to you, I think it's fitting or it looks little bit better in my opinion for the Art Reveal to have the line art in more detailed version which looks closer to the final artwork, so you can see where the colors are. Let me import the other line art. I saved it here with more details and as you can see, there is no background. I can take only the layer. I have the layers selected here, as you can see, I'm holding with the pen. I would click on the "Gallery" and then I would go to the file where I want to set up everything. I will drop it here where the other line art is. You can see which one is which one here. This one has more details, so you can also rename it. Now, I would hide the layer. Here, instead of hiding, you can also delete the layer with the sketch, which you will not use. I would zoom in and I would reposition the line art to fit to my original artwork with the color. This is what I wanted. Now, you can see that actually my sketch and my colored art is not exactly aligned and that's not great for the Art Reveal actually. I make sure that I'm on this layer which I want to adjust. I will go to the selection tool. I will take the rectangle, select part of it. Take the direct selection tool. I will move it so it actually fits my colored line art. Should be fine. If I have little bit of misalignment here, I can always go to sketching brushes or take some brush which is similar. This brush I took from sketching brushes. No sorry, these are from inking brushes, and you can find it here. You can take it, select the color, adjust the brush size, and fix these corners. You can also delete. This is another pencil which I like for sketching, but I will take the same one. If you hold it should take the eraser as a brush or the what you were using before. Or you can go to the folder which we just talked about and find the brush. It was this one now we are in eraser, and I will fix the corners here. Now this is fine. You can import some of the additional details, what we talked about, into the file so it looks more colorful. Now, as I told you, it doesn't matter really what is the canvas size for the art reveal because we will be recording it with the phone and we can also angle the whole iPad. But what I see here is that my decoration it's not really fitting the layout, so I would plan to do the art reveal approximately like this. What if all of these doesn't fit? I would take the layer with my line art and the art work below that, and I can move this whole thing a little bit lower with clicking on this button you can see the uniform, and by dragging either next to it or here you can move the whole artwork with the line art little bit lower. I want to make sure it's not covering these flowers here because I still want to use it as a decoration. Now to deselect I can just click on it, and I think I'm pretty heavy with this part. What we want to do is to actually delete the line art, so we will be using the eraser to uncover the artwork underneath. Let me put it in the full opacity. I can choose the eraser and if I just erase part of the line art, it doesn't look that great so what do I have to do here? I will go back. We can delete the other line art, what we had there before, so it doesn't confuse us. You can see already a little bit the idea what we are going to do because I tested out some of these layers. I will delete this so you can see exactly what I'm doing. Now, I will create one more layer above the line art. Let me hide the line art. Here what I did was, see I had the artwork which was more with hard edges, and then I added one more layer using the color of the background, and I just painted over the artwork little bit so it has softer edge. You can have a brush thing with the texture or without the texture. Here I painted over the edges on a separate layer instead of erasing part of this artwork in case I want to change something later on. Then I have these two and I can actually merge them because I think they will work together quite well or you can keep them separately because it doesn't influence these amount of layers as the canvas it's not so big. Now, if I go back here, as I mentioned, I will create another layer, and with the color selected from the background I can drop the color over my layer. Now, it actually disappeared. You can see that there is the layer with the same color so if you uncover it and cover it again, it works. Let me move this here so you can see it better. If I delete part of our layer, we can already uncover some of the art work below it, which is already fine, this is what we want to achieve. But we want to do it together with the line art. But now I would have to delete it on two layers or uncover it. I will go back. I want to merge these two layers so we can uncover the artwork using these two layers together. But with digital files we want to make sure we have a backup, so I usually copy the layers which I might want to adjust in the future or I want to use maybe again. I will use the copy or I will create the copy of the line art and then I will merge the layers. Here I will duplicate the layer with the line art, I will hide it, because we don't want to have it visible. Then I have the copy of the line art here or the original and this is the basic color of the background. This is the one, so just to be sure. Now I can merge them. We want to delete part of this layer so this is how it will look like. But is this brush for uncovering the best one? I don't think so. In the next lesson, we will talk about which brushes I think work the best for these art reveal, at least in my opinion, in the movement we want to use. Because for the art reveals, what I like to post on Instagram, are the ones where they feel very relaxing to watch. You use very slow hand movements for the art reveal, and that's influenced by the size of the brush. Before we move to the next lesson, we want to check if we have all the layers we want for our art reveal. What I usually do, as I mentioned, are some decoration elements which in this case are the flowers and some color swatches. Then I have my signature on the side in white colors so it doesn't fight too much with the other colors. Then I can add another signature or the name, and here I see I need to move it little bit because it's too close. I feel like the composition doesn't work that well. Let's move it a little bit up. Now I think it's fine. Then we have the layer with the original artwork, and the layer to uncover. When we merge the layers, it change the name of the layer below. Now I think the name is fine because we will know what to uncover. If you want you can merge these layers too, but it's not necessary because we have the canvas size. I think it's big enough for this art reveal. Now let's go to the next lesson and talk about brushes. 4. Brushes: Now I will show you some of my favorite brushes for the art reveal. The rule of thumb or how to choose the brush for the art reveal, in my opinion, is to choose a brush which is fully opaque, which will help you to uncover the colors of your artwork easily and quickly because the art reveals are only 30 seconds, at least of now. Let's do that and let's look at some of the brushes there. I will move the artwork to this side so we will see the line art. We still have our artwork below, and then we have the layer, which we want to delete to uncover. If I would choose any of these brushes, as I showed you before, they are quite thin, so it will be hard to see the artwork underneath. Even if I would make the brush bigger, it's still a quite small brush tip size. Let's go back. Now, if you look through different folders, there are many different versions you can choose from. But what I mainly want to show you here is the difference between fully opaque brush and brushes with transparency or not full opaque brushes. But first, let's look at some brushes which are not fully opaque and has some texture, how does that look when we want to uncover the artwork? Here in the Abstract folder, I can choose something which looks more like a watercolor brush. If I would delete part of the artwork, you can see it can be quite confusing. It creates an interesting effect, so if you like this, you can use this type of brush for the art reveal too. Now, if I go back because I don't want to use this type of brush, I will show you some of my current favorites, which are in this folder. I really like this brush because it has very strange shape. If you uncover the artwork, it creates this organic movement, which is quite fun, and there is also some type of texture around it. I can move slowly and the brush will reveal the artwork with very nice texture at the beginning, and then it's fully uncovered because the brush is opaque, which means it has a lot of coverage. Now, if I go back, there is another brush I like, which is this one right under it in the same Artistic folder. If you try that one, it's also quite big in the brush tip size. Of course, it depends on the size of the canvas. Our canvas is not so huge, but it works for these brushes. So there is still some room to actually make the brushes bigger or smaller. What we want to test out is how many brushstrokes do you need with a certain brush for the art reveal before you start recording? For example, with this brush, you can see I would need 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. What I want to achieve with brushes, which I choose for the art reveal, is the slow movement of the [inaudible] , which can be something like this, because I like when people do these type of art reveals with more soothing slow music or it can be like low-fi music, and it's very relaxing to watch. Because if you would use a brush with very small tip size and you have only 30 seconds for the art reveal, you would have to move the brush very quickly and it can look quite hectic when you are revealing artwork like this. That's not my preference. That's why I like to choose brushes which have option for a bigger brush tip size. Now, if I would go to Painting folder, here are a few brushes which has very painterly look, which I like for this art reveals too. I would say actually these three brushes. Let's first test out this one because as you see the shape of the brush is round, and it has also some texture on the edges. Let's test it out. You can try it few times, but don't go to Gallery because that will save the erasing of the layer. If you want to test out, stay here, and test out the size. Maybe this brush tip is too big, so I can make it a little bit smaller, and test out again. I think this one is pretty good. This one is very similar, but the shape of the brush tip size is little bit more on the painterly side, which is also quite nice. But this brush behaves differently depending on how you tilt the pencil. So if you want to achieve the consistent look with the brushstrokes when erasing here, make sure you hold the pencil in one angle. Well, not one exact geometrical angle, but you know what I mean, approximately one angle. Because of this organic feel, this brush is little bit more hard to control, and therefore, my favorite brush is still the one which we have talked about before. I will go ahead and select that one and I will go forward with our art reveal using this brush. But feel free to choose a different brush for your own art reveal project. In the next lesson, I will tell you a little bit more what I think about before recording the art reveal. We have the canvas setup, we chose the brush, everything is ready, so now let's prepare the layout. 5. Recording Setup: Now when we have the artwork with all the layers ready for recording, you can take your phone, and we will talk a little bit about the layout. There are two options, what you can do with this art reveals and posting in Reels on Instagram. There is one, recording just with your normal camera, but you have to make sure it's 30 seconds, so you have to time it. Or, you can go directly to the Reels and it will time it for you. First, let's look at the layout and we can try to record it with our normal camera on the phone. Let's do that. Basically, you would just open your camera app on your phone, and you can see that I move the tablet, which is little bit more diagonal. You can use some sticky thingies to put on the other side of the tablet so it doesn't move actually when you use your brush, because if you use the force, maybe the tablet would move. But if you use these sticky gluey things on the other side of the tablet, that it will help you to stick it to the surface, and also it doesn't destroy really the surface of the table or the tablet. Just make sure you don't put it into any openings or on the camera, just as a disclaimer. Make sure you take care of your device and you don't destroy it. Other option is to use washi tapes. Let's call it washi tapes. I have these nice colors, which you can actually use as a decoration if you want to, for recording. If you use these ones, you can just take piece of it, and fold it, and stick it to the other side of the tablet. You can use other props, like I am using this under-mug-of thingy. I'm using this one as a prop on the side. You can have a plant, maybe you can have markers, and you can resize and reposition your artwork to see how you would want to record. Think what to consider here is, of course, your hand. When you will be recording, it will cover big part of your artwork, and it's not great in the video. You want to make sure that you're holding the brush or a pencil little bit further so your hand is not really in the video all the time because it's not super awesome to watch something like this. So you want to stay little further away from the video. An other thing to consider is how the thumbnail will look like. If you are moving the hand, where do you want to stop the hand or the video so the thumbnail would look nice? I usually like to stop it somewhere maybe around here, so I would uncover part of the artwork, and there is still one part of the artwork which is not uncovered. Also, how you hold your hand, maybe a little bit of your fingers, and then you can also think how you like the hands to be tilted. I will want to end up with maybe this amount of hand in the video. An other option is also how do you tilt your phone? What I like to do, because I also tilt the tablet, which we talked about already, I also like to record maybe from this angle, so you would see a little bit of the props and most of the artwork. I don't maybe need as much of these flowers, so I can, not zoom in, but move my hand closer to the tablet. As you can see, we don't actually see this part of the prop, so this is actually not necessary. What is also helpful is you can set up a light from each side of the table. I have natural light in the window on the right side, which always helps with recording. Try to record during the day, not at night, because you will end up with very yellow-looking recording, which is not great. Nature light, some props are nice, and think about the layout before you start recording. Another thing to consider, not only the props but also the surface which you are recording on. How does your feed look like on Instagram or wherever you want to post it, maybe it's Tiktok? My artworks have, usually, this bohemian feel. I really like pink and orangey tones. Actually, the wooden surface of the table adds to the whole experience or adds to similar look and feel what I have in the feed. You can try a wooden surface, you can try a white table. I also had white table before, which, with white surface for recording, there is not much you can mess up because white fits almost with everything as you can see in the edges of the tablet, and that it fits with a lot of the colors, whatever you use, dark or light. I guess this is all what you need to consider before recording. 6. Recording Tips: As I mentioned to you with recording, I like when there is a little bit of guessing in the thumbnail or people would guess like, "Oh, this is how it can look like." With every artwork, you can consider or try to think what is the most interesting part. For example, if you have a full-on landscape and there is one cat or one character in the middle, maybe people are most interested in actually how that character will turn out when it's finished. Or if it is a portrait, maybe it's part of the face people are mostly interested in. Actually, that's the part I like to keep at the end for the art reveal, so people would watch the whole thing. Let me show you how I would approach this art reveal because this is a face or the portrait. I would like to keep the part of the face as the last part for the art reveal video. If I start recording in this layout, for the thumbnail, I think we will see maybe something up till here or maybe it will be cut off here if I want to post it in the feed of Instagram. You can check the size of the brush so you don't have to do too many of the art strokes. I will make it a little bit bigger and I want to keep maybe this part as last. Obviously, not the colored part. Let me see. Now you can see on the recording here on the top that is already 30 seconds. Let's do that again, which is not great because I started talking while recording this. Let's record. I would start here in the corner, and maybe I will go here to the top. At the bottom, I can see I am already at 10 seconds. I can do this. Maybe I would have to speed up and I think it will turn out okay for 30 seconds. Good. I think these would work. But at the end, I didn't like that I had to go back with the brush. That's not good because I like to have smooth movement, and I don't have to go back to erase some parts. Let's try again to keep it to 30 seconds. Taking the corner of it, going up here, bottom part, this corner, slow movements, and keeping it all nice. It was only 20 seconds, which is fine. I have it now saved in my camera roll. That would be one type of the thing you can do when uploading to Instagram. But now, let's go to Instagram and I will show you how I usually do it. I don't use the app to record a video beforehand. I like to go directly to Instagram and choose the reals because you have also the options there. Adding music, and cutting the video, and all of that fun stuffs you can play with those recording there. Let's go there. 7. Recording with Reels: Now because you already practiced a little bit how to uncover your artwork, you can go directly to Instagram and maybe you don't need so many trial and errors. At least that happens to me when I record Reels. I sometimes have to redo it multiple times because I don't like either the hand movement or the composition or maybe how I was holding the phone. But now we practiced a little bit so we can go directly to the Instagram app and start recording because we have the layout, we have the art work, and we approximately know how we want the video to look like. Let's do that. Open the app and go to your profile and click on the top part of the account. Instead of choosing the post, story, or IGTV, you would choose Reel. Now as you can see we are already in Reels and we have multiple options here on the left side, which is audio, the length, speed, effects, touch ups, and timer. What I usually use is actually the audio and the length. I will just check if it is actually 30 seconds, which you can switch to 15 seconds. I think it was predefined to 15 beforehand, so let's put it back to 30 seconds. I wanted to have a natural movement or the speed there, so I will keep it to one but you have these options, 3, 5, 1, 2, or 3, 4. Let's keep it at one. You can choose some of the effects like the filters you use often. Or maybe it can be something very magical looking or some other effects you might like. I sometimes go for something more bohemian looking which brightens up the artwork, but as for this one I don't think it works well because it desaturates the flowers a lot. I would go back and choose no filter for this one. I can disable it here on the left. I think that's all that I will set up here. I will prepare my brush. I already know the size of the eraser I want to use. I will angle the phone, and keeping in mind that I don't want too much of the space here. I want to focus on the artwork and maybe see some of the props. You can test it out. Again, not too much of the hand in the video because I want to end up with a thumbnail in this position maybe so we can try that. Starting with this corner, you can also start recording like this and move your hand little bit further away from the tablet while recording. You have to touch and hold the button for the recording of the Reels. While holding the button, I will start painting. Let's do that and see how that looks. Don't forget to check the time when you are deleting the part of the artwork so you don't run out of time. I don't think this was great because I moved maybe too fast and I used only like 17 seconds of the Reel. You can check out your Reel by clicking on the arrow here next to the Reels. You can either keep it or you can actually delete it and try again. Click here and discard. I will do it again going back, and I will maybe reduce the brush size tiny bit and I will record with slower movements by holding again the Reel button and hopefully I will like the video this time so I can save it. I think this will turn out quite well. At least I feel like. I can go here and I can press this button and I can trim the video. I would start maybe somewhere here. I will trim the end of the video, maybe somewhere here. I can press trim and I can say done. Great. Now, if you notice on the top part you have the pink line which shows you how much time you actually used to record the Reel. I think it's good maybe if you use more strokes, it will be longer. But choose whatever feels right to you. Now I can go to audio, and you can choose the music depending on the style you like for the video. For example, when you use slow movements for uncovering this artwork, maybe choose slower music, and maybe if you have very energetic hand gestures than the movements, you can choose something which is more fast or like faster music. Of course, you can test it out and see which music you like. I can choose the first one here, and you can move around also this part and choose the part of the song you like the most. But usually the suggestion from the app I think works quite well. When I'm happy I can just click done. When we have everything set what we wanted from this part, I can go to preview. Here are few more options which we will talk about in the next lesson. In this lesson we will talk about few other details what to consider and not to forget before posting or at least to consider before posting to your Reels, feed or wherever you want to save the art reveal. 8. Prepare the Post: Now when I look at the video, I think it turned out pretty well. Maybe I can do one more recording when I'm closer to the artwork, so there is less of the flowers on the end, on the edges of that. It depends what you want to focus on; the overall layout or just the artwork for the art reveal and it also depends on the feed on Instagram. What you prefer to show or maybe you can do a variety. One time you do more the layout artwork with some props and other times for the art reveal, you will do something more like a close-up to the artwork. Let's go look at the app, what are the options there? You can save the video with this arrow on the side and it will ask you if you want to save without the audio. Why is that? Because usually the artist offering the songs for Instagram here offer the license for the music only for the Instagram. If you want to save the video, you just record it, you can, but it will be without audio. I will press Save and then you can see the pop-up message that it was actually saved in your feed. At this time you can also decide to post this video later on, you don't have to post it right now, or you can choose the video which you recorded actually with your camera beforehand. These are the two options which I mentioned to you, but I will go ahead and I will prepare the post right now. You can press the second button up here and it will bring up the mixing audio options. Here on the right side you would see the music which you chose beforehand or your audio. You can put your audio up. That was the time when I was talking, I don't want to use it if this video. I can pull it down, so it will be zero, and you can also level out the amount of music or how loud it will be. I usually put it around 80 percent so it doesn't start screaming at people if they come to the reals. But because I don't know how are the phones or devices where people use set up so I don't want to have it too loud. This is up to discussions obviously, you can choose whatever you prefer. I think this is good. You can see also the microphone icon. If you press the red button, obviously you can do also a voice-over. You can tell people what do you wanted to say with this artwork, so you don't have to use the original audio which happened or which you created when you were recording the video and you can actually record a new one, which is quite convenient, I feel like. I don't use this option too much because I like it just with the music, but at least you know, there is an option like that here. You can press "Done". You can also add GIFs, whatever you like. Of course, there're also my GIFs in case you didn't know and there is also class about making GIFs and you can check out how to make most of them in that class. You can create simple GIFs like this for your stories too. Let's go back. I don't need to use the GIFs here. You can also draw over your art real. You don't need to do that. Or you can actually bride something. I can create a cover for my art reveal. Maybe something like this. Maybe and this one. I think this can work quite nicely. It depends on the look and feel again, what do you want to have in the feed of Instagram. If you're happy with this one, you can go Share to, and you can choose the cover. As you see now we have the art reveal texts everywhere, which is not ideal, at least I don't like it. Here you have also an option to add from camera roll. If you want to create special cover image for your art real, you can actually create it in Procreate or wherever beforehand, save it to your camera roll and edit at this stage so you don't have to worry then about where you place your hand or which part of the video you will choose as a cover image. You can import one. But for me, I like to use it without any special design cover image, but you have this option here too. I will cancel. I will go back and I will actually delete the text and drag it to the trash can icon. I go back to Share to. Here we have more options and we will talk about the details of this one in the next lesson. 9. Hashtags and Description: Now, we are at the last stage before posting our video to the reels, or Instagram feed, or save it for later if you want to use it in Instagram stories or maybe even on TikTok, or wherever. You just want to look at it and show it to your friends later from your camera roll in your phone. Let's look at the options here and I will give you a few more tips here about the hashtags and other details what to consider before posting. Here you can write whatever inspired you to create the artwork, or be actually a little bit more creative and bright, more of the inspiration and the story. You can just say, "Spring is almost here, " and use some of the icons which would fit your writing style. It depends on you. But what I want to mention here for you is definitely use of the hashtags because as of now, if you post reels to your Instagram feed, you don't really have the option to go back and add hashtags, or edit the description like you have the option with all the other posts in your field, which is not ideal of this moment, but that means just think about the hashtags before you post to the reels, or the Instagram feed now. I always use a combination of hashtags which are more popular and the ones with a less amount of posts, which will help you to stand out, or at least more people can discover your art. If you see hashtags with 10 million posts, it will be probably very difficult for you to stand out because the algorithm usually shows the accounts with many followers if they use these hashtags. It's like combination of these types of hashtags which are very popular, also relevant, and less popular hashtags which fits with amount of your followers. Let me go to art, maybe this one, it's not necessary because there is a lot of art hashtag on Instagram. I can do art review. You can see there is only 5,000 posts, which is actually quite good to help you stand out as an account, or more people to discover your art through this hashtag if someone follows only this hashtag, not special creator, or an artist. If you didn't know, yes, you can follow hashtags only. This is one of them which I will use. Then I usually use something like illustration. Play around with hashtags and try to use all 30 of them, which I think works quite nicely. Again, balancing the very popular ones and the ones which are less popular. Also, try to use something which is relevant to your artwork. If I use #frida, you can see there is a lot and you can find new hashtags maybe by just writing the first word and see what are the other hashtags which are suggested to you. For example #fridaymood, maybe that's fine. Then you can see there is #fridakahlo, #fridayvibesnight. #fridayfeeling, it's not that anymore. Here I know I selected wrong hashtag. If this happens to you, just delete it and go back. We can do Frida Kahlo, and then I can put peony flower. Try to fill in all of them as I mentioned. You can also put Procreate and other ideas. You can also look at your favorite artists and get inspired by the hashtags they use. Of course, try not to copy all of the hashtags they use because you don't want to copy them completely, but maybe you can see which areas of the hashtags they use. Is it talking about flowers, is it characters, is it more generic like illustrations or art, is it maybe taking some magazines and hashtag which is related to the magazine? Which brings me to the last part here. You can click "Okay" when you're done with the description. Here there is an option to tag people. You can click on the button and select maybe Procreate if you want to tag them. You may get featured on their feed if they really like your artwork, or the video, which is great. You can click "Done". Here is an option where you can say share to the feed, which means where all the posts are, or not share to the feed. Of course, we talked about during the class that we want to share it to the feed because we want to entertain our community, which is super nice and maybe create more engagement with our posts. When you're happy with the video, all the effect, the hashtags, the description of the posts, and the options to share it to the feed, or not to share and tagging people like either the app you are using or maybe you can even tag yourself if you want to have it in the preview of the tag posts in your feed. We can also save it as a draft to our camera roll and use it maybe for TikTok, or wherever. You can just share it in this format, or just post it, and then you are done.
