Outlining and Writing your first Speech

Many people fear the idea of public speaking and would probably find any way to never do it.

Well, in this course, as well as many to come, I will cover the basics of Public Speaking, Speech delivery and Prep.

This class include the foundation of all public speaking, which is: “The Speech,” and how to outline it.

Your class project will be to create an Outline of a Speech. (In this case: an informational speech, though all items here could easily be adapted to be a persuasion speech, etc). Additional documentation will be provided as attachments.

It is a real honor that you're choosing my course toe watch when there are. Many of my peers are also biting for your attention. So I'm hoping that my course and gives you a lot of insight on how to start your journey and public speaking. Public speaking is one of those skills or techniques that's rarely seen because a lot of people in today's world do not like toe talk. They would rather be dead than give a speech. And I'm glad to say that I'm glad I'm not in a casket when I rather be giving a eulogy. So I'm hoping that this course from my experience teaches you a lot to establish my credibility. I've been a toastmaster for over seven years. I started a YouTube channel called Gentlemen of Action. I'm looking to start a website soon, which I have all, uh, you are l's to get started is just that I'm currently in the in the process of building it up as we speak, called gentlemen of action dot com, where I'm trying to teach about men's issues, character building and, in some cases, ah, general fashion sense and life skills and trying to teach the lost art of what's called gentlemen. Stop something that I'm looking to expand on public. Speaking once again is one of my passions, because I wanted to be a public speaker for a good long time, probably for the last 10 11 years, because I found that I had no real skills of any kind. And I tried everything from learning how to code to do database management to marketing to just anything. I just didn't have any skills, and I found that all I really knew how to do was be positive and talk a lot. And it wasn't until I found Toastmasters about seven years ago that I found that I had a platform or place that I can hone this skill. After being toast message for seven years, I decided that I wanted to also be a teacher to other people and that this is what I wanted to teach others. So once again, welcome to my course. Course Outline and Objectives: greetings and salutations, everyone. My name's Armando Cuervo, and this is my course on outlining and writing your first speech on skill share dot com. It's a real honor that you're watching this course because there are so many other things that you could be giving your attention to, whether it's Netflix who lewd the WWF network front, Imation AP or drama fever, which I must describe it to every single one of those. So my attention could be given to those same things. But because you're here, I assume that you're here to learn something from me. And once again, it's a real honor that you're giving me your attention, and I hope that I make this time together. Worf it for you. So what's talk about outlining and writing your first speech? So most people dread the idea off public speaking. Most would rather die. Then give a speech. Me, I don't mind giving a speech. I very much do not want to die anytime soon, so I think that it's pretty easy to say I'm more afraid of dying than I am of giving a speech. But I found that yes speech, prep speech, craft, public speaking it is kind of difficult because it takes a lot of practice. But at the foundation of any speech or public speaking engagement, there's always the speech itself. So when given adequate time and preparation, there are basic elements to every speech that you should be following because giving a speech is more than just going in front of people and ranting for 5 to 7 minutes. It's more than that. Nobody likes a rambling fool because it's kind of annoying and put you to sleep. And I'm sure you've been in enough courses and classes where the teacher was just talking on and on and on and you're bored and you fell asleep and then you had to take a test afterwards. But that's OK because that's not what's going to be here. There's a course outline that I created for the four basic elements of any speech, which I'm hoping that you use that to follow along, and we're gonna cover the following topics today, which are the pre speech research, as well as assessing your audience prior to any speech where you talk about the four basic elements of every speech which is gonna be in in pretty good detail. I'm gonna have separate videos for every single one of those. We're also going to talk about what you're gonna do right before you give your speech. And also, we're gonna talk about what you do after your speech. These are all topics we're gonna cover. Not everything is equally important because not everything that I'm talking today requires the same amount of dedication or attention. But dough, they're all important. And I hope that this course is very enlightening for you. We're gonna go jump right into it. If there's any way that could never improve the course, please let me know what we're gonna get to it right now. 3. Pre-Speech Research: before we jump into outlining and writing your first speech, we should be talking about the segment that comes before out the outline, which is the pre speech research. Now, as the name implies, you should be asking a couple of questions before you start writing a speech. Because if you don't know what the details are, how you gonna write something? So you should be asking the host, the toastmaster, your boss, the teacher, The guy in the internet that says he wanted to talk about something you should ask him simply. Hey, how long do you expect me to speak for meaning? What's the speech length You should ask him. What would you like me to talk about? Are you going to talk about retirement? Are you gonna talk about insurance or you gonna talk about politics, which you really shouldn't? Are you gonna talk about the stock market? How to make cakes, how to, uh, do a back foot? You can talk about anything how to make in Pinellas and bios air. Really tasty, But again, depending what the topic is. You would tailor a speech towards that in terms of length. In addition, you should ask him or her. Hey, who am I talking to meeting? Are you gonna talk to Ah, ah, lot of college kids. Are you going to be talking to retirees? They could be talking to plumbers or electricians. Are you talking to real estate agents? You could be talking to four year olds. See, depending on the audience, you have to tailor what your message is towards the topic that you're talking about. And in some cases, some topics just do not work for some audiences and require a lot more research to make it understandable. And in addition to all that, you find out what the topic is, Well, who your audience is. How long should be the most important part, which is What is the purpose of this? Are you looking to persuade them to vote for you to buy from you to look at a website that you created to look at a website that somebody else created to influence him, to go to the doctor, to just make him aware of let's a cancer treatments and Thailand? Who knows it's The idea is you should know what your purpose is, because the pen in on your purpose rather, you're trying to just tell me a funny story before dinner or you're trying to, uh, teach them how to budget their own books. You would make your points tailored towards this purpose. So these are the four aspects of the pre speech research that you should be doing part two hour and in your speech, which are again speech length topics, audience and purpose. 4. Knowing your Audience: now that I just talked about pre speech research, I want to expand on knowing your audience now is very important. Probably just as important as the speech itself. When it comes to the outlining is knowing what your audience is going to think, do or B Because if you write a speech that's tailored towards lawyers who are in divorce court, it's gonna be very difficult to speak that to those who are lawyers when they're actually college students or high school students. Because a high school student and a freshman in college do not have the same understanding as a divorce court lawyer, it's also very difficult to talk about real estate, such as house house flipping, return on investment, investment properties. When you're talking to six year olds because it's just gonna go over their heads, they don't understand those states. So before they write any speech, it would be in your best interest, to say the least, to research who you're talking to find out what is their average level of education. Are they high school dropouts? Are they college educated? Are they all doctors? Are they, uh, salesman in terms of health insurance, life insurance cell phones. Do they all like cell phones? Do they like video games? You see, all of this is important to make your speech more relatable. Some people will call it pandering, but it's you could call it that. I mean, that's just another word to say that all you're trying to do is talk like your audience talks. It's just what it is. I'm telling you that it's OK to speak at their rubble now. I'm not saying, for instance, that they use profanity. Usually use profanity. I'm not saying that they insult you. You should insult them. What I'm saying is it is okay to tailor language towards your audience because it is your job as a public speaker to usually make complex stains more understandable. A few examples. If you're gonna talk to dose or retirees, you would probably talk about life insurance, long term care, paying off a mortgage, possibly investment properties, annuities and all those things in order to supplement their incomes in their later years. You wouldn't want to talk about those same topics with six year olds were probably too busy talking about how to eat snack packs or Lunchables because a six year old doesn't care about retirement. A six year old doesn't care about life insurance. Actually, trying to sell life insurance to a high school student doesn't make any sense. You're gonna talk to a high school student about how to save money on fast food, how to get better grades, how to take a test. Better, how to ask to go out on a date. I mean, that's what teenagers and high school kids care about. They want to talk about more social things, while a retiree wants to talk about more assisted living, future planning and all those other aspects that just would fall on deaf ears to those who are younger. And that's the important part. Know your audience before you write your speech because you're gonna write an amazing speech. That's part. Gonna have a lot of zingers. Ah, lot of important information, a lot of things that you think are amazing. But if they don't understand what you're talking about, it's not an effective speech. So take this time for the next two or three minutes to think about who my presenting to and write it down. Write down what their values are right down what their educational levels are. Just write out a profile of the average person you're talking to, and then use that when we get to our next exercise, which are the four elements of every speech. 5. The 4 Basic Elements to any speech: Now that the research is out of the way, we're going to talk about the four basic elements of every speech in every speech they have these four basic elements Introduction body summary conclusion call to action. Once again, they're the introduction body summary conclusion call to action. These four elements are usually present in every speech, even though some speeches may emphasize different elements less. For instance, in the story speech, you're probably gonna have a very long body because each of the main points are each of the different aspects or rather, different plot points of your story will be longer than what, say your introduction, which might be a single a sentence or two sentences of just saying once upon a time. But in the persuasion speech, you're going to be using the introduction to establish credibility, tell your audience something very important, and then the call to action might be pretty lengthy because you're trying to sell them something typically or have them do an action as part of your purpose. So despite the purpose of your speech for what it is you're gonna be outlining, most of these elements will be in there. So if it feels that all my speeches different it could be, but probably not. You can still use the worksheets, or rather, the elements that I'm talking about. Now, if you haven't done so yet, it might be a good idea to go ahead and print the pdf version of this or download the word doc. So then you can follow along with me because it does expand on the learning, and I am going to be using this worksheet to help you formulate your speech. Of course, if you have any questions or wish to upload the projects, you can do so in the project section. Otherwise, to take the next few minutes to maybe go ahead and print. That's right before we delve into each individual element, which the first settlement we're going to talk about is the introduction 6. The Introduction (Element 1): Welcome back. Hopefully, you came up with the topic in order to use the worksheet exercise that I provided. If you haven't printed yet, I'd say Take a few moments to do that. Or take this moment to think of a topic that you wish to talk about in order to make this exercise a little bit more and packed full or to make a go more smoothly. So the first element that we're talking about, how the four elements is called the introduction or, as I like to call it, tell them what you're going to tell them and an introduction. There's usually four pieces to this one element. The first part is the greeting in an introduction, your usually gonna be brought up to elect Turn the stage for the podium by, Let's say, the president of a company, the administrating administering member of of a contest. Or it could be even your best friend or your mom or whatever the case is. The idea is in a normal speech. It's always nice to just give a greeting, for instance, you think the one who brought you to the podium. So if you're doing a speech at Elk Lodge in Oakland Park, Florida You would say Thank you, Mr President, and thank you out Lodge of Oakland Park for having me here today. It is a real honor to speak with you. You can say something like that. It's always good to have that initial greeting and or to do the warm and fuzzies, as I call it. It is. Make yourself personable. The second piece of the introduction is to capture the audience attention. Now the idea of capturing the audience attention is to typically give him something to be wowed about, something that might scare them, something that might shock them. I mean, you don't want to, Let's say, offend anybody. But the idea is is to get attention. So, for instance, if you're talking about how to save money, you can start off with, For instance, Asper in NBC News. Did you know that about 78% of all Americans live paycheck to paycheck? I mean, that's pretty daunting, especially we're gonna talk about how to save money. It's pretty important to bring up that Hey, most of us do live paycheck to paycheck, and that's a real travesty. We should really fix that Also, you can also start with other facts, such as Did you know it's illegal to eat cherry pie with ice cream in Kansas? Now that's kind of funny. And it's good if you use that as a preface to maybe talk about stupid laws that are still in the books or out of control regulation. Maybe you can use that as a joke to just talk about funny things you've seen in life. It is. You can start out with this statistic. You can start off. If a joke, you can start the story. You couldn't even make something explode to the side of you. The idea is captured their attention. Make them engage. Give him something toe. Listen to you or to warm up to you. That is what catching their attention is all about. The third section of the introduction is toe. Actually introduce yourself, and I know it's a weird concept to introduce yourself in an introduction, but which is play along here. Okay, The idea is why you introduce yourself at this section of the introduction is because you first want to do the warm fuzzies and to get the audience attention first and then you let them know who you are, because if you start out with who you are, in some cases that's appropriate. But you may not have established the attention to you. You might even lose them if you just start talking about yourself. That's why it's going to start with a joke or an astounding fact or something to wow them or get their attention. Their blood going it is you want them to pay attention when you're establishing your credibility. So, for instance, after UN brought up and I think the audience and I and I let them know that 78% of us live paycheck to paycheck and most of us will be dependent on I don't really assistance when we're older. That brings the fear in them by when I say that and now that I bought the fear in them, their attentions directly on me, and that's when I say Hello, everyone. My name is Armando Corbeau. I have a YouTube channel called Gentleman of Action, and I also do courses on skill share what I talk about public speaking, budgeting and character building. I see The fact is I started off with appealing to them getting their attention. And then I talk about myself when you do it in this order, it makes it a little easier for them to actually listen to you when you're doing your introduction. Fourth part to the introduction is tell them what you're going to tell them and the reason why you want to wait until after the greeting the catching their attention in the introductions before you tell me what you're going to tell them is because you want to establish the initial credibility and make sure that you have their full attention before you tell them what you're going to tell them the whole point of the speeches to make sure that your message is hurt. But you're not going to have your message heard if people do not have an established idea of your character. So as an example, I do the greeting. I let people know, uh, this amazing fact, I then let them know what I do. And then I start with saying today I'm gonna talk to you about how to save money in order to make sure that you can live your retirement with more comfort. When I say that I didn't just said, Hey, this is what I'm going to tell you. But that's after I told you that you're gonna be poor because you lived paycheck to paycheck, that I do this and I help with budgeting. Hey, I have established credibility, and I even said hi to you. It is You're probably more likely to accept the fact that unbelievably going to tell you how to save money to be comfortable in your lady years. But if I just started the conversation by saying, Hey, I'm going to tell you how to save money to be comfortable in your later years, and I did that from the moment I was introduced. You may not believe it so much because I didn't catch your attention. You may think I'm just rambling or you just don't know who I am. It's basically a little harder to understand somebody or care about what someone's talking about if you do not have a small idea of who they are, so that's why you should, in this order for introduction, greet them, captured their attention, introduce yourself and then tell them what you're going to tell them 7. The Body (Element 2): Now that we got the introductions out of the way, let's talk about the body of the speech. Basically, the second element were you tell them now in this portion, you're basically telling them about three of the five points to elaborate on what you were talking about in your introduction, which should gear people towards your objective. So what's in a good example? In the introduction I talked about, I'm gonna tell you folks how to save money and or to live comfortably in your later years that that's the idea or the the objective. In my speech. I should make my points towards those objectives, and I should have some elaboration on that, of course. So when I come up with mine main points, it's good to make your main point either single words or a small sentence. For example, the first point that I'd like to bring up about how to save money in order to live comfortably in your later years. You should save 10% a week of your check. Okay, that's a sentence. Save 10% of your weekly check or I can say save 10% three concise words or one sentence either one is pretty effective because most people who work a normal job, they understand save 10% of my weekly check or if I would say you want to keep it as simple as possible. Possible, you could say 10% save 10%. And then you can quickly elaborate. I'm saying you should say 10% because by saving 10% you can build an initial nest egg to do investments and to potentially make additional money one or two sentence to cooly state. Why, I believe 10% is the magical number. Another main point that I could use is, for instance, look for passive income opportunities. Okay, that's a long one, and probably many of you may not understand what that means, but look for passive income opportunities. If I want to make it a simple as possible, I just say passive income. I mean, I just used a single word that should trigger everything that I just said. Second mate. Second way to save money or to make money. So then you can live comfortably in your later years, passive income, or look for passive income opportunities, see, as the one really works and if I want to elaborate. I'll just say, in your later years, your ability to work diminishes greatly, and making active income or working is very difficult. So it is usually best to find ways to make money while you're sleeping, so you don't always have to work and have steady income. My elaboration was good enough. It basically explained why. I think passive incomes the way to go. But people will remember the word passive income, and hopefully it'll trigger why passive income works. Another main point, because this would be the 3rd 1 just, for example, is avoid liabilities. Okay, buoyed by abilities like credit cards, mortgages and auto loans, I know that I'll be controversial. But here's the reason. Okay, my main point boy liabilities like credit cards, mortgages, auto loans. One would say Armando isn't a mortgage and asset not quite, because assets make you money. Liabilities take money out of your pocket. That's is what my elaboration would be. But I can cruelly state my third point as either avoid liabilities or get assets. Either one would work, and either one is very easy to to remember now. Granted, Aiken say, avoid liabilities. That would be one main point and then I can say on my fourth main point obtain assets. See, that's four points. They're all very concise, and I do a small elaboration on each one. The idea is that when you're coming up with these main points, they should be memorable enough to where they can just spouted out without having to think too much. Because if they can remember what you talked about, your that much more powerful. And if they're able to remember what you said, and that's where your power lies, you then have the ability to influence them towards whatever your objective. ISS. It sounds like a subliminal message, but I mean, it's just psychology. It's That's what public speaking is about is to move people to do something. Otherwise, why are you there? Are you just speaking for your health? I mean, no, you need tohave an objective, and that's the purpose of very speech. Rather is just to teach him something or to make sure that you make some income because we all need to eat. We all need to live, and I mean, you know, pro tip. It's OK to sell something that's all right. But again, with the with the body of your speech, you should limit the amount of points you have to about three. The four to make it easier to remember, make it more memorable. Make them short, concise sentences with only a couple of sentences of elaboration. Because we usually say too much, we don't usually say too little. 8. The Summary/Conclusion (Element 3): we're moving right along. So segment number four element number four of every speech is the summary and conclusion where you're basically telling them what you just told them. And the purpose of a good conclusion or summary is to do the initial set up for what is Dan . Your call to action and a summary or conclusion should simply just restate what your objective waas and what your main points work, that's all. It's four, and I know it may seem kind of lazy, but it's actually lazier to say in conclusion, or to summarize or to conclude, because when you do that, you're basically saying you have no better way to end your speech. So avoid statements such as in conclusion, to summarize or to conclude, because speech aficionados usually tune out after that because you basically just said I have nothing else to listen to. But when you are basically restating your objectives in your main points, it serves a dual purpose number one. You're restating everything for those who may not have heard everything you said, because it's a very chaotic world out there. Sometimes people might check their watch, get a text message may be talked to by their neighbor right next to them, where they might have missed an important point that you wanted to drive home. And when you repeated at the end of the speech, in the very least, they'll be informed of what you talked about and maybe insight, some curiosity for them to check further. So that's purpose number one. The second purpose of doing the conclusion where your restating the objective and mentioning the main points all over again is to do repetition repetitions important, and I'll keep on saying it. Repetition, repetition, repetition The more you say it, the more likely that they will retain the information. And if they remember what you talked about, there's a much higher likelihood that they had to take action on whatever it is you set. The idea here is not to sound like you're harping on something keyword, harpy, whatever that means or to sound like that. You're just rambling on because you're not rambling on your being very concise. You want them to remember to say 10% of their check every week. You want them to remember that they should be looking for income, passive income opportunities you want them to avoid liabilities like mortgages, credit cards and auto loans. And you want them to obtain assets. And what do you want them to do All that? Because you want them to live more comfortably in the retirement years. And all I did was just keep restating that. And when you ask him at the end of the night, what was he talking about? Well, he was talking about doing this. This isn't this, and they remembered because you said it to them at least three times at some point. So it helps. Repetition works, and it's all about making sure that your speeches more memorable. 9. The Call to Action (Element 4): okay, We're almost wrapped up here. So we're gonna talk about the most important part of every speech, in my opinion, which is the fourth element, which is a call to action. Now, once again, the call to action is, to me the most important part of the speech, because this is where you are going to make your objective happen. So before you go to writing your call to action portion, you should revisit your pre speech research and determine what was my objective and making this speech, which the rolling example we have is that helping people save money and or for them to live comfortably in the retirement years. So my objective is to do just that. So how do I go about doing that? Well, you go to the second portion of the call to action, which is called Tell them what to do, and you're gonna give them a very specific action to take in order to make whatever your objective waas happened in this case. If I want them to save money so they can live comfortably in their retirement years, what I would then say is I can help you further. Here's my business card. Make an appointment with my secretary tomorrow and we will set up for you to be financially secured. Or you can say for more information on the products I offer and to make sure that you live comfortably for the rest of your life, make sure that you check out my website at www dot youtube dot com slash gentlemen of action. See, that's me. Tell them specifically go to my YouTube channel, go to my website, go to me because I'm the one who's gonna give them the answers. And I'm telling them specifically what to do now, of course, a lot of times you just tell him what to do. Is this good enough Called to action? It could be. But this is where you reached a crucial point where you make it all good, which is close with impact. So when you're closing with impact, you want to maybe do something similar that you did when you first started. If you start with funny story and with the funny story If you made a joke making a joke if you made an explosion happen and of another explosion, just do something. And with a pop make them make sure that they remember you, because the whole idea of a speech is not just to give a speech and let it stop right there . The point of a speech is to make sure that you are a part of their lives, even after the speeches done, because you are there to change lives and make things happen. So an idea of have to close with impact. Well, thank you so much for helping me in determining your financial goals. I hope that we all have mutual prosperity for many years to come. See, that's a nice, touchy feely statement or inspirational saying for me to let them know I care about you. Let me help you up. Or you can say, I like to end this speech by talking about what happened with my mother that was so important that my mother, unfortunately at the end of her life, found that she never had enough money, and to that day she was not as comfortable as how she can be. And because of that, I'll make sure that nobody ends up like my mother did. See that's closing of impact because you are now hitting a heart string that solidifies. The whole reason you're there is to make sure that your mother's legacy a za a sad as it may have been is not the same legacy that other people have. And that's how you close really impact. And that's why your call to action should be the single most important part of your speech that should receive the most amount of attention. 10. What to do prior to and after your Speech: very good folks were about to wrap up the course. So I'm going to talk about a couple of pro tips on what you should be doing prior to and after your speech. So prior to every speech, you shouldn't make it a goal to make sure that you haven't objective with this speeds to always improve. So prior to your speech, you should practice your speech at least once or twice. So then you can use that practice to see where certain parts of speech are not necessary. So by prop the senior also able to edit your speech. So practice and then edit your speech because it isn't until you actually practice or run to your speech that you find that some items that you're outlining just don't quite fit. Or maybe you can consolidate some of the main points, for example, with my own speech today, where I talked about how you can save money or get additional money and or to live your life comfortably in your later years, I didn't mention that you should avoid why abilities and then another point waas to obtain assets. I could probably easily put this into one main point by saying, Make sure that you avoid liabilities while obtaining assets, and I could have put that into one major point and maybe put in additional sentence of elaboration, and that would been just as powerful, maybe even more powerful and easier to remember. Then let's say having the two individual points, which gave the audience a whole another idea toe have to remember, especially when they're so closely related. But practice, scene and editing my speech would have been the only way that I would have probably fixed at. Besides, just what's a Eddie in it. Directly practicing a speech helps you determine where the weak spots are and before you go to your speech engagement or would say, if you have time before you have to speak, it might be a good idea to visit the venue prior to the speech, for example, when I have a speech engagement at a university at Florida Atlantic University at a Toastmasters club, I thought it a good idea to visit the club before I give my speech, and the reason was because it was a contest that they were holding and I was the guest speaker. So what I did was just go to a regular called meeting and just sit in and look at what everybody else did in the area that I would be using because I knew that I had room for my camera. I set up my camera equipment the following week when I was given the speech because I knew where they had their camera equipment. I didn't have to figure it out on the fly. And in addition, because I knew that I had a good 20 square feet to work with in terms of my speech area, I determined that I was going to use my area more by going all the way to left, then all the way to the right to do those big, dynamic movements because I wanted to make sure that my speech was as impact was it coulda been. Now, granted, there were lots of places for improvement, and luckily, the contest allowed me to have a lot of evaluators telling me what I can improve on which many of you may not have that luxury. So what part will be a good idea that if you're gonna go and give this speech anyway, maybe have your friend come along. And I mean, if a family member is gonna come along anyway, have them film you Or maybe just let you know, a couple of key points that they saw so that you can improve. The idea is to always improve yourself. Now, this is what you do prior to the speech post speech. What you would do is speak with whoever is evaluating you or hear the mount. So then you can focus on the parts that they thought were kind of weak. If you film yourself, maybe look at the footage and find something that you may have done, not so well. Now, of course, you're going to see all the great things you did. Well, no, we're at you very critical of ourselves. So lots when we do something right, we don't We don't even notice it because we're only focusing on the wrong. That's why it's good to always have a garden party. Look at what you're doing and make sure that they always tell you what you're doing, right. But of course, tell you what you're not doing, Not so right now. What do you do after that speech is when you hear the critiques, and you look at the video, you find one area of improvement, maybe two. And the reason why you want to focus on one area, for instance, hand gestures. If you're using your hands like this like a T rex like I do, sometimes I go like this, namely, because maybe I have sweat marks. Maybe I don't like holding my hands over my head. I don't have the same amount of flexibility. I don't tend to use my arms or hands in the appropriate way to make very effective hand gestures. So when someone says, you know, you should really focus on those hand gestures, make up the single item that you will use in your following speech or you're following assignment to make sure that you're focusing on that because there's a lot of things you're going to do right? And you wanna put your mind to doing this right? Plus, doing 10 other things right, because you did it right. Anyway, just try to make sure that you put the focus on the hand gestures. If you did not have too much vocal variety, then you would want to make sure that in your next speech, but say if you're given a story speech that you give that you give lots of different voices and or to make characters, and the whole idea of focusing on the single items is for mastery when you master certain aspects of a speech and then becomes second nature, and then you can focus on other items to master. But you never leave your core competencies of speaking because you're not focusing on all the competencies all once you've already mastered some and you're just putting focus on ones that you know you need help with. And it's a lot easier to master one or two aspects of a speech. Then let's a 10. 11.
