1. Intro: Hey there, my name is Daniel and welcome to my Skillshare class where I'm gonna be showing you how to use Canva to create some amazing templates for YouTube channel. So I've been making YouTube videos now for over five years and I actually have been using camel for the past three years to make a lot of my YouTube thumbnails because it's just a really powerful platform, is free to use. And there's a lot of great features already available in Canvas they can use to create some amazing thumbnails for your YouTube channel that will get some eye-catching and clicks as well. So let's just start the course. 2. Paid or free: So do you need to use paid can't, but for this course the answer is no. You can't use the free version of kava. Kava is pretty US is a really powerful application that you're going to use for free. And a lot of features that canceled makes available or actually for free. And you'll know the difference between free and paid when the little crown or star that it has. That means that it is a pro feature and that you need to pay to use it. But all of the features that weren't will be checking out our free to use. And you'll just know the difference, of course. 3. Tools: So before we start designing our own YouTube thumbnails, I just wanted to give you guys a quick overview and show you around Canvas about the future state using Canva. So we already talked about templates of course. So now we're gonna go to check out the elements page. So the element page here is just a tough graphics. They use photos to make your Tamil, although they're much more better and stand out as well. So from here you can choose r lot babies to eat. So as you see here, was that I used in my recent videos, is used, but you can actually use a ton of great design changes. So if you want to make a chart, Q at charts as well, the cat photos graphics as well. Here, depending on the charged area as well or whatever you want. So if you want to write coffee and then copy, and in graphics, there's a ton of graphic says about coffee. If you took them, they are scopy about coffee. Then you can just add coffee icons as well, right within here and an x, of course we have photos. So here, just like Unsplash, a popular site, they could go and get free stock photos. Camera has also a stock photos as well right here the ketone use to make you to tunnel much more better stand out if you need stock follows, then the septum they get choose from right here without having to leave Canva, which is always really, really fantastic. Next is we have to text area, text area cores here, Here's where you get changed. The title, tags, everything, which makes it really fun in different. So there's a ton of different types of texts they could go and download here and use for free. Of course, like I said, you will not have different between pro and free here. So a lot of these texts right now are showing free, free and pro here, but you'll see that little crown rate there is will tell you that it's Pro. So if you have the pro feature of Canvas and you can use those, you don't have to pro then that midtone, use the free ones right here like these, which still look really, really amazing. But yeah, there's just a ton of text I could choose from depending on whatever you took down, no design you're going for and typography that you want for that thumbnail design as well. And then of course we have styles. So here's where you want your thumbnail to have some colors and everything. Then here you get to learn and see what colors work together as well. And they can actually work as well, really, really nice. So as you can see, it changes the color and I can just make it fixed because I didn't really like that. But yeah, just a really, really fun thing. And then background. So background is here's where you get choose for you that Tom knows picture. So let me show you an example here. Occasionally you blank. So here and here, so we click this, then we have a nice background picture right now right here, rate to be used and changed up. A lot more different depending on whatever type of P2P thumbnail that you want to go for as well. So those are auto features pretty much that we'll talk in detail right now. And then we'll get into the niches and crackers when we're designing our thumbnail using Canva. 4. Templates: Welcome to Part 3 of this course. So in this part 3 we'll be talking about templates in Canva. So what I really like about Canvas. 5. Creating: Now we're going to finally start designing our own templates using Canva. So let's start. So what we're gonna do is actually go to template section. And so for this video, we're going to be showing you different types of styles of templates to choose from a course. And visual you so much I feel like using and we'll get designed and make it our own so that you'll be unique when you're designing these templates for yourself. So what we're gonna do is just choose any random template that you really like. So I'm going to just choose, I know there was one I really like here. They will just choose this one, just close this one's popping because of the retina in the yellow, the big black sites, the yellow sign. Everything about this is like, you know, you kinda want to click. So already do is make this a little bit different and make it our own as well. So we're going to delete this picture. We're going to add this, my own picture right here, which looks really nice. And then what we're going to do is go into edit. So when you go to Edit here, there's a lot more features they could do for that photo right now. So what we're gonna do is go in, click on the background remover. And here of course, like I said, this is a pro feature. So there are some features that are prone where a visual you bought this or there's just no the guy could do about it. But this one is about Kant doesn't all alone. So in Photoshop, you have to go carefully to delete the background. Nothing bothers by here. It kind of uses machine learning to do all this in the background. So I just have to wait and hope it works and it came out pretty decent. So after that, just click apply, and we're going to add this right here and make this a little bit smaller. So, or maybe bigger to smaller. There we go. Delete this and we're going to make this picture even a little bit much more better. So we're going to add shadow. So this is the Globe part here of the photo. So if you see some YouTube channels where they have that white outline around the person or an object. We're going to do exactly that right within globe right here. So we're treated to white. And then they changed it to transparency to there we go. And then let's change it to transparency there, Erica. And there's the outline rate their fees yet. And we're good. I like it. And I don't know if I want to change anything else. You get changed a lot more. Stop right here, but like, I don't really want to cause it looks really nice. The picture right there and I like the outliner thing. But amount of fan of this whitespace with Nissan have to make a little bit bigger so that, you know, I kinda pop there. So there we go. We're going to pop you, change this and just change the texts or lake, how to make, how to make passive income with a rate. Secrets. Finally, secret is finally revealed and given away at the end. I might keep this actually because you never know that my big giveaway, that might not be a giveaway. So yeah, I'm just gonna keep it because it makes it much more do so there you go. We just made a YouTube thumbnail using a, already, a custom-made already done the template using Canva and you can just play around with it. So as you can see right here, I made a ton of other ones as well. So you can actually keep using it a lot more. There's a lot of problems I will show you right now more. So we're going to click here and maybe we don't want to change the text or the text looks nice. But maybe we want to change your weight now the texts, or you can go here, wake and close this one I really like about Canvas, seriously catchy, change all the texts that's included two way as well right here. Even this one, which of course we did not want. So then I just change it color, liturgical back to that. There we go. So it looks pretty decent. Nitrate there will get changed to yellow blocks now. And kinda little bit different as well. Let's see if we can do that. And effects. And we'll add some shadow to it. There we go. The different urban areas. So now we're making it really pop because the whole point of the YouTube Daniel course, YouTube panels are one of the most important parts of making YouTube videos is making people click on your dumbbell, iambic, a really eye-catching. And so this is just one way they could do it, eye-catching. And there's a ton of templates to choose from as well here. So right here, and maybe we don't make this one a little bit different. So there's one, just delete the person. And we're gonna delete this and I'm going to make it, oops. Let's see if I can make this work. So I'll go to my uploads here they choose to my here. So here we're going to position this to go backwards one and backward another one. Could we wanted to go all the way behind the purple. There we go. Last behind the purple. So now I have to worry about it too much. I can just delete this picture and just continue and very low. So let's look at this and we're going to delete this. And how we make money from home will nutritious color to something different between the two. Maybe not that color. That one looks good, such as green. So there's keep it to that is really nice. And I will just change some stuff around. So like the tags, as with actual texts, you know, to make it really pop. And we really want to stand out attacks as well. And there you go. You just made your own little change to the picture right here. They changed his new to a darker green. Now, it doesn't look like it's changed back to where it was. Cool that looks at me and there you go. So you just have your own YouTube custom thumbnail as well as making a default template. So just play around with this and share it on this course right here, so that we can all see what you've been making a CBC. I've been using just this to make it by default template right here using the default templates on Canvas as well. 6. Export: For this video, I'm visually you how to export your YouTube templates or that it looks really, really nice and it's of course the YouTube. When you upload it, when you're, when you upload your videos and you upload your video on YouTube uploader. So it's fairly simple. So let go and download right here. And we're gonna do is keep it to PNG, which is suggested you don't have to change AND continue to paint if you want, but you want high-quality on your thumbnail. So pink PNG will be perfect for this. And then psi. So you're going to want to keep it to one because YouTube for some reason, if you go over to 31, are accepted, it will say it's too big of a file and so just keep it to one. And then transparent background. You don't want to have your background. You can keep these unchecking. Have to worry about this because I have six thumbnails right now. I can just choose which ones I want to upload to export. So I'm going to choose number 6, which is this one which we did on the last video. So click done and then just click download and you'll be ready to download and just click Download. And so it's doing all the work by itself. I don't have to worry about anything else. And it's already exporting where I can just have it ready to be uploaded to my YouTube video for my next YouTube video. 7. The end: So you made it to the end of the course. That's really, really cool. So all I ask is pretty much to share your work is to share the YouTube thumbnails, so you create it using everything that I taught in this course and the shared class project area, ClustalW, be really cool just to show off and see the different YouTube thumbnails styles that everybody has created for their own YouTube videos as well. And so I hope you guys enjoyed this class. And if you guys did enjoy the class, then there's other classes that I have there you go and check out as well, right here in Skillshare. So I will see you guys later.
