In 2017 I quit my 9-5 job as a Designer because I realized there was so much more life I was missing out on. I was showing up at the office before the sun went up and left after the sun went down, wasting away my creativity to make advertisements for someone else's dream.

Over the next few years I had to learn fundamental skills in creating a business from my content creation. Eventually leading to a fully sustainable career that allowed me to travel and live in places like Hawaii, SE Asia, Bali. (Fun Fact: Most of my classes are filmed in different locations because I move so much!)

I've been doing this for 7 years now, and my classes are here to teach you the necessary skills to make a career for yourself in all aspects of content creation.

1. Trailer: I love getting notifications and Tiktok as the perfect platform for that. You're able to reach a huge audience without having to have a big page. These are some of the notifications I've gone to wake up to using this method that I'm going to show you in this class. We'll be going through how I choose topics, setup my filming, and how I edit all my videos. This is the exact same blueprint that I use to grow my page really fast and only a few weeks. And we're only going to be creating quality content, not using any gimmicks or anything that makes you get fake followers. This is our real authentic polar is that love you for your content. If you're ready to begin, I'll see you in the next video. 2. Intro to TikTok: Okay, so first thing we wanna talk about is what Tiktok is and how it works. Just get a general idea of what we're doing on the platform. So Tiktok is a video platform shrink for the mobile and generally is our vertical videos. And it's made for some very quick, fast content. So the main advantage for someone wanting to use TikTok or learned Tiktok is that you can build a huge audience really fast. There's no other platform now, right now, can get tens of thousands of views just like that without having a previous falling. So that is the main powerful part about Tiktok. Now, what we want do on tik tok is that we can build a brain on tiktok and to build a brand on tiktok and to get it in front of so many different eyes with spinning very minimal time on making the content as opposed to back in the day having to do YouTube videos that are 1020 minutes long or Instagram videos that are very long and well edited. Tiktok likes a very wrong approach to these videos. So you have a very raw, very well produced put together video for tick tock. It's going to do well. Now before we begin, I want to talk a bit about the algorithm. The algorithm is one of the most important parts about TikTok because that's what the whole TikTok app works on. Every phone that uses Tiktok has its own individual algorithm. So the algorithm builds on itself is that as you consume content on tiktok, it watches you and sees what do you do, what you like. We comment on where you share or what you spend time on or scroll past and the scroll back, it tracks your every action on Tik Tok just so it knows what you like best and is entered is very good at what it does. Because so many times I've heard people say, Oh, I'm addicted to tiktok or I got laughs on tiktok for like an hour. It happens because this is a proven algorithm that pushes content that you interact with out to you. So we're going to use that to our advantage by creating videos that are on-brand and consistent. So that whenever somebody looks at her account and you're going to know to go back and look through the old content and see that it's the same as the stuff that brought them to the account at First. We're not trying to do anything that is gimmicky in this whole class, we're gonna make something that's real value that people want to follow you for. 3. The Algorithm Fundamentals: So you've published your videos and you're not getting any views at all. You're not getting any interactions. Your view count is lower than your follower account. And you're probably wondering why this is happening. You're trying to think like what factors go into play as a video gets picked up and played to everybody that is on TikTok. The answer is, you have to work with the algorithm. The algorithm is the almighty. It's the most powerful part of the TikTok platform. As you noticed, if you're going through the platform, you're probably seeing videos that you like most of the time, like after you spend some time on the platform, it knows what to engage you with. So it always plays the best videos that keep you hooked on the platform. There's definitely an explanation on why most people spend hours at a time on this platform. So let's talk about how we can please the algorithm and how we can make the algorithm work in our favor. Now there's no ways to hack the algorithm because it's not out there. Nobody really knows how the algorithm works. But there are ways to make your videos more favorable to the algorithm so that it is sharing your videos to as many people as possible. Now there are five things that you should consider when you're thinking about the algorithm. The first one is video completion. When you make your video and people are watching it, do they watch to the end? Of course, if you have a long video that might be hard to get somebody to watch to the end. But if you have short videos or 15-second videos, there is second videos. If those are engaging enough, people would tend to watch to the end. Now there are certain ways to make your video engaging. You need to be able to have it as something that people want to watch. Now, what I mean by that is that when you make a video, some people just go in and talk about what they feel is important to them. Now, when you're making a video, you need to consider what is important to your viewer. What brings the benefit to them, like what utility is in your video, whether it's entertaining, it's educational, or it's something that hooks them in and shows them this behind the scenes of some crazy thing that's going on. What hooks your audience. And you need to consider that as you're making this video and as you make this video and making it so engaging the entire way they finished the video. That's going to help the algorithm know that people tend to finish watching this video instead of going on the video and swiping up right away. Now when your video gets swept up right away, the algorithm is going to be like, Okay, this video is not worth it to send to people on the platform. They see this video, they're only going to skip it right away. And the whole point of TikTok really is they want to keep people engaged on the platform. That's the most important thing. So we're going to move on to the second factor, which is a continuation of this. And it is how many times the video is played on repeat. So not only does finishing a video help your video, like when your fears finish these videos, it helps her video. But the fact that they're repeating this video is even more helpful because it shows that people want to continue watching this video and stay engaged with this content. So an example of this is like educational content, where people are listing out methods to do something. And as you're Washington, these methods, you tend to be like, okay, I finished this video, I need to go back and re refer to what was on this video. So you go back and refer to different things and then you finished the video again and you're like, Okay, I forgot the second thing and then you go back and refer to it again. And then next thing you know, you've already watched this video like three times. Now the algorithm picks on them that and it's like, okay, this person not only finishes the video and rewatch, is it? This video is definitely something that we need to show out to more people because it's engaging. It hooks people in, it keeps people on the platform. So as you're trying to make these videos, make them in a way that is gonna be able to be consumed all the way to the end and also going to be banished and repeated. The third factor that we need to look at our shares. Now, videos that are very engaging and videos that have a viral value to them get shared very often. And this is important for TikToks algorithm to pick up on because when they see that a video gets shared a lot, they're thinking, Okay, this video probably has some virality factor to it that makes it people are compelled to share with their friends. Now, the value in that, if you think about it, is that what a person watches this video and because they share it, it could spread out to multiple people. So they really only need to push this content how to one people. And then they gained three extra views. So while it's both a width for you, It's also a win for the TikTok platform because so many more people are watching it. And if you think about it as like a chain reaction of this video is so engaging that you share with three people. Those three people are also likely to share it with another couple of people. Then if that keeps happening, then this video is going to go viral and explode. That's why when you notice a video that gets shared a lot, and once it picks up traction, it's going to go exponentially. Viewed. Like the growth of that video is going to grow exponentially because it's like a chain reaction. It's not just like 12345678910 is going to be like you notice that 1000 views on the video, and then you'll notice that 3 thousand views on the video and then 10 thousand views. And then once it gets to 10 thousand views, you're going to get so many more views come in. Next thing you know, it's at a 100 thousand views. And at a certain point you're gonna be like, okay, it's at 500 thousand and just happen like that. So that's one thing that's very important too, is just like considering whether this is sharable content. Then the next factor is the common center. Now the next factor are the comments that you get on the video. Comments means of engagement. And a lot of times those two comments means people are rewatching this video because as you're typing out this content, the video is continuously playing in the background. So as somebody makes comments and talks to you in your video, that starts in narrative with other people who are watching the platform to, because if you notice, you've probably watched videos. And then the first thing you do is instinctively go down to the comments section, browse through the comments, maybe write something that you feel compelled to write about the video. So then after that, you have a ton of people talking about this video. A ton of people engaging, sometimes people even coming back at the same time. All these people are rewatching this video and staying on the platform, which is what TikTok loves. Getting comments and interactions is super important to make your video blow up. And one thing I noticed too, with a lot of creators is that they don't comment on their own videos. Now, I understand if you're very busy and you have to do many different content, but it's so important to comment your own videos to engage with the people. Because when people see the creator talk to anyone that's responding, their, you know, their interest is peaked but are like, Oh hey, what is this creator saying? Because as a creator and as the creator of the video, you have a bit of light, more leveraged. You are seen as the idle, as the leader and they're curious what you're saying. And also for people that comment and they get a response back from the creator. They get very excited. And that also brings them back one more time to watch her video. So comments are something that's very, very important. Make sure you take note of that. And finally, the last thing that I consider, videos are the light. Now, this is not as important because think about it. When you go and see video and you like it and then you just continue watching it or do something like big, it doesn't really help the platform that much. It really just shows that suddenly things, Okay, this is cool. So I'm going to click the Like button. It sure does help your video probably get some more views, but it's not something that the algorithm can pick up on and be like, Hey, this is something that's amazing and it's something that's very worth it for us to push out onto other people that haven't liked the show that this video gets engaged with. And also to a point of view of other people watching. It shows that this video is appreciated. And when a video is appreciated, it has the same value of like, okay, this video probably is more important than a video with like ten lights or a video with no legs. Because when you go on a video you see a ton likes like thousands and thousands of comments, maybe hundreds of content, hundreds of comments, if it's like thousands of legs. And you see that this video gets engaged with, then you're like, okay, this video, it has some importance to it, so I'm going to watch it more. So these are the five things that I like to look at, to consider to make a viral TikTok video. 4. 5 Archetypes of TikTok Creators: Alright, the five archetypes of a creator on TikTok. So I take top, when you make your account and you're presenting yourself in front of people, there are typically five different archetypes are types of presenters that you can be hoards people. And it doesn't have to be exactly these, but these are essentially like the main archetypes of how people's C creators. And these are the type of creators that are doing pretty well and have a good following and a good interaction with people that people look up to the people. And these were the pages that seem to grow. So the first one that we're going to talk about is the strategists. Strategists archetype is somebody who is teaching you lessons, who is stepping strategy, who is helping you like devise plans to get to where you want it to be. So a good example of that is TikTok accounts that are jim, people who are showing you fitness tips, what to eat, what to do with the type of workouts to do. Like videos that are like, Hey, for your app burning exercise this month, you need to do this. And they started laying out the directions on how to do this. These are the strategies that helped me plan. Where do you want to go from this point to another point? So if you are a strategist account, you are helping people figure out what they eat, what they want to do, and helping them get there, whether through strategies, whether tips or personal experiences, just like different things and help people get to where they want to beat. The second one is a mentor type figure. So a lot of TikTok accounts are of people who have already done what you've already done and are lot of different level like they're not exactly like the strategist who strategist sometimes want to Soviet program or want to be your coach. These mentor type figures have already done that. They're successful in their career. And they just want to help you be a motivation so that they can, well actually they don't need anything from you. But they're more like the mentors teach you and help you get to the next level by motivated, by sharing their story, by being there to bring you to the next level. Because many times when you are a gone through, like the downs, not be motivated by getting out of bed, the gym, not pursuing your business. These are the mentors that'll be like, Hey, keep going. You gotta do this, this, this because it's going to lead you to this. So a lot of these would include videos like blogs or like TikTok blocks that people do where they're like, okay, today as a creative strategist, I did this are today as a CEO of this company. And then they talk about like what they did in their day and how that helped push their full forward. And what their intention with this video is to help motivate to bring it to the next level. So the next one is the sidekick. So sidekick is essentially like her friend, somebody who is on the same level as you. Maybe a simpler follow count, or someone who is like just like right next to you, ready to be there with you on every step of your journey. So examples of this would be people who are a journaling, their workout journey, their diet journey, their business journey, their entrepreneurship journey, your state journey. Different people who want to talk about their life and how they are improving their life. And these craters really five with a lot of accounts on TikTok because they are so real life. They are the behind the scenes of someone that is actually out there going and getting it. And people really, really meshed with that because it's super genuine and super authentic. Like I had a friend who documented for a full-scale journey and the rotor lady. And what she started out, she was barely even rollerblading, like she couldn't even dropping a ball. And then months later, she's like You flipped and stuff and hurt, blew up. The thing is it's like people watching every step of the journey. And as people join along on different parts of the journey, they're like, Wow, I really buy with this person because they are like me. They're like My friend. And a lot of times these accounts would talk to people I interact during the comments like way more so than some of the strategies or some of the mentors because those other people are so busy with their ventures. These are the people who are still I have time on their hands and still are there for you and could still provide for you. So these accounts are really good if you're still new and you're still trying to build an audience. Having a friend type sidekick account is going to help getting that initial audience. Now the next one is an entertainer. Entertainers, creative, fun and engaging content. Sometimes it's entertainers, could be educators as well, and then they call edutainment. But entertainments are the people who make content that when you're feeling down and you watch it, you feel good about yourself. This can really range from funny videos all the way to educational videos that each something about what you need to do with your life. There are many videos that tap with depression, but in a way that's like tiny hubris. Where it's like, hey, when they make jokes about dark things in life, somebody who gets it and understands it, they're like, Oh wow, this is actually a true but kinda funny at the same time. So it's entertaining and I get people hooked, stain on the app. And because entertaining content keeps people hooked on the app, TikTok algorithms pushes that video in that account and more, because the whole algorithm really wants you to stay on the account. There is some caveats with being an entertainer type of account is that sometimes people are being entertainers that are not genuine to who they are. Like a funny person sometimes can get hard, especially with a lot of comedians who have depression on the side, but at the same time, their full-time job is to be an entertainer. So it's like you have to find this balance. And then once you figured that balance and figured out where your voices to be in entertaining channel to whoever's watching yourself, then you can make some content that is good for you and also good for the, IT. Finally, the artist, the artist on TikTok, are these accounts out very aesthetically pleasing. Videos and content is very much like the Instagram creator, but on TikTok. Now this is a lot harder than all the other types, because TikTok is right there. I really appreciate being drawn a lot more than advocate to read it. And also it's not very friendly on your time constraints. Because making very curated content takes a lot of time making a video that's colored graded than shot on a camera. And that's edited to be well put together. That takes a lot of time versus a video that is just like spoken on the phone. And it's just a more of a raw type of storytelling clip that could be finished in a few minutes. A more polished the video might take. 2030 minutes, are a lot more time than those for raw video. But give this very visually appealing to it that people lighting. So it's not necessarily a bad thing to have very curated, beautiful feeds on TikTok. It is it working method? That's why I'm laying it out here for you to consider. But it does take a lot of time for someone to make a very curated feed and a very nice look in a steady. And some examples of this are people who are shooting their New York city blocks. Like these laws are so aesthetically pleasing. They have this setup, their cameras like in the corner, the vlog themselves doing this and dad and frame it just exactly perfect. And then finally edited altogether with these proper transition. Looks really good. It does take time to do it, but the value of the beauty of it is very nice and very pleasing and there is a certain audience and really appreciate that. Now, if you could also combine this with like how to produce a fast video and make a video that you can do in a few minutes and make it visually appealing. At the same time, you're able to put two things together and make your videos so much more powerful and engaging towards an audience. But the audience, but the artist, persona or archetype is really fun if you're a creative and you want to do fun and creative stuff that is aesthetically pleasing and you're not, after getting tons of views, you're building up that mass following, but having a very loyal following. This is a good approach to go that way. 5. 3 Types of Content (TikTok): Alright, let's talk about the three types of content that typically come up as you're planning out the type of content for your TikTok account. Now the first one that we're going to talk about is the trending type of content. These are the trends that you do. These are the dances. These are the stuff that is on the TikTok recommended hashtag page. The next thing that we're going to talk about are the evergreen content. This is the stuff that's going to make up the bulk of your TikTok profile. It's the stuff that is your core, like videos that your audience is here four. And then finally, we're going to talk about the personality videos, which are the personal videos that really connects you with your audiences, is E videos that are going to break through the barrier and make you and your audience like tight. Okay, so let's start off with trending videos. Training videos are the mainstream videos of TikTok there, the dances, the challenges that you do. These are really the videos that I can't go viral and have the potential to go viral because they are going to hop onto trends. And as these trends are getting pushed, I TikTok, your video is gonna be able to hit tens of thousands, maybe millions of people, just because it is on the trend of what is popular on TikTok right now. It's what casts a wide net of audience and get reaches a wide range of audiences. And because that, it also brings in a lot of new followers. And this is great because as you're building your account, you want to bring in a lot of followers. But I do have to add the disclaimer that it's not the type of videos that deeply connected with your audience. So these are great to bring in new people, but this is not the type of content that brings in the followers that are following you because they completely to know your brand, like they don't really know who you are, but because maybe they like to revive the like how you look like energy that you're giving off and they don't want to lose you again being there, they're interested in what other content that you produce. So they decided to follow. Now, I'd like to add that you shouldn't get too caught up with the amount of followers that you get from these viral, trendy type videos. Because out of maybe 10 thousand, only 1002 thousand of those people are really going to stay in for the long term. And that's fine. These are the people that you should really catered to you. These are the people that are going to support you no matter what. And these are the people that are your true audience. So the segments to the evergreen videos, which is the videos that you make for audience that love your content and is here to support you. And evergreen videos are your niche type of videos. Say for example, you're a coach for Jim stuff. So you make videos on fitness, on how to work out. And our videos on what type of diets to do. These typically make up the bulk of your account like you have videos that as your audience comes in, this is what you're looking for and to learn from. A lot of the content might be guides and tutorials. And also these are the videos that don't go out of date. They are able to be used over and over again. So I typically do like to repost and recycling once in awhile because as you're building your account, you're going to have a lot of new followers coming in. And because these videos are so useful and valuable, they don't typically lose their value. So as new people come in, they're not gonna be able to see these older videos because you have newer videos. Go and show on top of these videos. Now, we should do in that situation is to repost them and repurpose them, or maybe even do with them and make an update to some of these videos if it needs an update. And these are the type of videos that are great for connecting you with your audience because it's on-brand and it's what your audiences here for. Like this is the stuff now that you've figured out your knees in. Figuring out what you love once you create your content with. And then you make more of these videos and then ask the new followers come in and they are watching these videos, a good amount of them are going to light these videos. If you put your heart into it, it, and then you put your love into it, people are going to let these videos. And it's really good for establishing your brand, establishing your knowledge and your reputation, and establish that you are a subject matter expert in this. So once again, these are going to be the bulk of the videos on your page. Make sure these are good videos and these are going to be the videos that connect you with your audience. Then finally, there's the personality videos, which I really liked a lot because they can connect you with your audience, like on a deep personal level. These videos might be the videos that are very vulnerable. So sometimes you might see videos where people are talking about there, life, their emotions that they're feeling, the struggles that they're going through. And actually with TikTok, this is such a great way for a creator to connect with their audience like prior to this, with most other social media applications, it's not a place for you to dislike. Completely open up. It'd be vulnerable. But with TikTok, it's actually very welcomed. And because it's reaching a wide amount of people, you're bound to find a lot of supportive people on the app. And this is where you establish your true fans, like when you are super vulnerable and open to who they are and sharing your personality, it's going to bring in people that accept you for who you are and love your content. They always say, your vibe attracts your tribe, and this is very true. That's the way that you put yourself out there in these personality videos, is how you bring in your tribe. And it is the best way for you to be authentic, like for you to be genuinely you, for you to share what your thoughts and views are. These are really dislike videos where it could be completely wrong, completely like a minute of you just ranting and talking and people aren't going to watch that as people connect with that. And I'd like to add that these are the videos to go viral. They might, but for the most part they probably won't. But it doesn't matter because these are the videos that people want to watch to connect. These are the videos that are going to connect with your audience. So if it does happen to have the added bonus of gone viral that rate. Otherwise, these are more for your core audience building videos. So these are the three types of videos that you have to consider as you're making your account. Now let's go on to the next lecture. 6. Easy Tips to Get More Engagement: Alright, let's talk about how to get some more engagement for your post. So there are many ways to get engagement for your posts that you can do outside of posting. The first one is asking a question in the video, like prompting people to be engaged with your video by saying either like it or share their own feedback, or just do something that relates to whatever is discussed in the topic and then having them leave their own impression, their own thoughts. A lot of creators that I know ask the audience to comment and leave their thoughts and opinions in their comments. And then when they do that, the creator would respond to this comment and then spark conversation. And then when people do that, other people who are watching this video also going to go and read the comments and then leave their own opinion as well. Tiktok is a very polarizing app. A lot of times people like to go on and debate. He would like to go on and just argue. So we're just having a little bit of something going somewhere else is going to come in and chime in and talk. And all of this helps to feed the algorithm pushed your content to be more engaged. Because as people are commenting, the video is playing on repeat. And as people are listening to the comments like what other people have to say in the comments. That video is also playing on repeat. This helps the algorithm continuously push your video out. Because what that says to the algorithm is that people are still engaged to this video. That's what the TikTok app loves is people that are engaged to this video. Because when people are engaged this video, they, when they have more attention on the application. So they're going to want to push this content out to more and more and more people. Now a strategy that I also like to implement in my comments is that instead of just putting it in my videos are captioned. I also add a comment by myself, I would say like, okay, so this happened. What do you think of this? And then as I started the conversation myself, other people are going to join in and talk to me. And then that sparks some discussion and then everybody is talking because that's starting a discussion like there's, there's people who are discussing now. And then with that, like I said, debates and with debates comes more and more views. So that actually ends up helping the video perform a lot better. Now the second way is going on live. When you have the video trending going on live is going to help people get into your account more. So as you go on alive, there's new faces that are going to your account and seeing what you're talking about. So if you're on live talking about the same stuff that you do when you are on your videos. Then people are going to go and check out this brand that you have, like whatever you're talking about, what you're discussing about, and if it's related to what you went on live with, then people are going to want to watch some more of those videos. Now when people watch these videos, they might become a fan. And during a live two is also one of the best places for you to be authentically you and to be yourself and talk to people on a friend-to-friend basis. You can just discuss about anything without having it being permanently on your feet with a video that's published. So when you're on live, you can just hang out. You can play games, you can talk about philosophy and you can really just go about your life, like their lives that I've done where I'm just sitting there playing. We're not really strangers with them, which is a board game. And I was just answering questions, chatting with people and just getting some more audience through that. And people love it when you're genuine on your lives. Because I have a feeling that this generation is very lonely. They were all on our cell phones all the time. So having some interaction with someone else, being friends with somebody is going to garner some more audience. So going on live, very important when getting some more engagement. And then the third way to get some more engagement is to do duets and interact with the community. You can go out and comment on people's videos. You can share ideas, or you could do it videos with someone else's account that is in a similar nice to yours. And when you do it and you react to what they're saying, or you're sharing similar thoughts to what they're talking about. You're going to bring in more audience members because people are watching that creators videos. And then because of the duet, they're going to watch some of your videos and they're gonna be like, okay, this person also makes a lot of good senses or a lot of good points, and then they're going to be a fan of yours as well. Because now there's a new creator that is talking about a similar topic to a creator that they like, that they've never discovered before. So now they have a new creator that they can follow and they loved this content. So they're going to follow you because they loved that content. And it also helps with the algorithm as well because as you're getting new faces coming to your account, the algorithm is going to notice that and they're going to want to push your content out more. So it's an endlessly winning cycle. 7. Ideas Conception + Videos to Make : Okay, Now we're going to talk about choosing content. And for me, I'm an information page, so I have content where I talk about a certain subject. I just be somebody that is able to share and lay out a interesting fact or a way to do certain things. That is what I do. So when I go and find my videos to make, I like to source from a few places. Okay, So let's go over some ways to brainstorm ideas for your content. Now the first one and a very easy one to do is social media challenges like TikTok has these challenges to do and it's very easy to see them. You can go on the Explore page and there's going to be a bunch of hashtags. And these hashtags usually correspond to an event that's going on right now. And these events might range from mental health days or something that you might remember very easily is the Ice Bucket Challenge. So they have a variation of all kinds of different events. So just find something that you like and maybe try and do it and participate. And since it's something that TikTok is pushing, you're more likely to get a boost in your views and comments and interactions because you're doing something that TikTok is helping get in front of a bigger audience. What the Ice Bucket Challenge. The fact that people were connected through this challenge made the thing so much more viral because people would want to try it out and do it. Another one is when they were stacking those buckets up and climbing it, that was more dangerous. But you see the appeal of it is that since social media is pushing these things out, people are more willing to do it. Now, the next is. 8. Concept: Behind the Scenes (Daily Life): Scenes people love hearing and seeing behind the scenes to TikTok is a platform where you can be super raw and natural and doing a blog post where you showcase your day and then narrate on top of that is something that I see as very popular as well. If people like getting to know intimately what another person's life is like without having to go out and talk. We are living in the ultimate age of people hiding behind a screen, which is perfect for TikTok take-off. That just meant for people who are more comfortable behind the screen to be able to see more of different lives behind that screen as well. And when people are sharing on this platform, you're shooting mostly from your iPhone or whatever mobile phone you have. And it's not very well edited sap produced. So it has this very raw and real feeling that people actively go and watch in this platform like TikTok is, this is the language of the platform, having raw and real, unedited or just minimally edited. 9. Concept: Cuteness Factor: Another video idea is to have cute thing, animals, babies, things that are acute, always have this appealing factor that no matter what it is, people are going to watch it. And it's best to pair this with another element as well. So then it's not just being cute. Maybe it's an acute animal that also has some facts behind it every time it shakes his head or that it is something that's very satisfying. Like you're combing the hair of your cat, which is like a fluffy cat or you're combing your dog's fur. Who's really fluffy dog. So it could be very creative. You just have to be creative with it and find different ways to incorporate Q things into more value providing video and another idea. The next one we're going to talk about is making art like TikTok itself is a creative platform. And we're going on there to make videos or being creative and we're making art. So as you're making these videos, think about ways to showcase beauty. Showcase something that you're special ed, what your unique at. So you show all the different aspects of what you're creating and people tend to like it. And this moves on to our next thing that we're talking about is shown behind this. 10. Concept: Dance Videos (dancing not mandatory): Dance videos. Now the thing about dance videos is you don't really have to dance. It's all about just moving and being engaged. That's all it is. Like for songs that are popular that have a dance behind it, you can dance, but you don't have to do the full thing. You can just be active and engaging and have something else in your video element that is appealing to the audience. Like maybe you deliver information and your value is in providing facts about how to do diets. So, for example, some of these dances I've seen are people pointing out to you. They're like dancing and then they're using their hands to point out two different types of facts and bullet points that they're talking about. 11. Concept: Dialog Reenactment: Another popular want to do is re-enacting dialogues are sounds on TikTok. I really want some miso soup. I really want some miso soup. It's actually listening to a sound that's popular in sometimes it's just people talking on the mirror and renting, but many times it's so relatable that people would use this audio and lip-sync to it and then showcase their own troubled or their own dilemma that they're going through that this song, the sound relates to end up by doing something like that. When people make that sound themselves, they're probably gonna go and check what other people have made with that sound as well. So if a sound is getting pushed, you think it relates to you and you continue pushing that sound and you're going to have a video that gets pushed by TikTok, which is ultimately the goal. And since you're getting people interacting with this more and it's on-point with the theme. It's only going to get more and more engagements. And reenacting dialogues is very fun. Like if you can find one that's very spot on and fits your scenarios, sometimes it can get very creative and fun. 12. Concept: Experiments: Now here's another video idea that is very popular, is having experiments, talking about how different things come about, talking about how you have it, a hypothesis and you're going to run an experiment and see how this turns out. Now sometimes people go up to strangers and ask different questions and then see the strangers reactions or see the strangers response. This is a fun experiment that people do and can get very far or two, because one element is that most people are behind the screen, so they're probably shy to go out to talk to strangers and ask them random questions. And two, these are interesting ways for somebody to see what someone else is like. Like TikTok is a discovery platform for people to discover other people. Really, it is a connection platform and that's the beauty of it, is that you can be so Ron and authentic on this app that you don't get docked for it or that word, I think that's worth, yeah, like people can be so raw and real in this app and put up videos that are shot for thirty-seconds, edited for another 30, and still get hundreds of thousands or millions of view. Versus back in the old day, you would have to have the cinematic camera. You'd have to have a beautiful production just for somebody to give it the time of day. Now, if you're good at what you do, we're going to talk about this next thing. 13. Concept: Tutorial: Now, if you're also very good at something that you do, a good type of videos to make is tutorials. Tutorials are where you're showcasing people how to do something that they need to learn or wants to learn. Like I realized the other day, I saw that there was a tutorial on how to make a cat tree. And I'll say, this isn't very interesting to me, but let's see why it's interesting. And I noticed that there were tens of thousands of people who are interested in it. And looking through the comments, it seemed like people loved the idea that it was something that was be like it was able to be made. And people loved how it was made and how it looks. And they liked that. This was something that they can see, consume really quick and then come back in the future to potentially make this item, which was a cat tree, showing somebody how to do something, is actually very high value of a type of video. So when people watch it and they like it, they're going to save it and maybe even share it. And that is the top two currency on TikTok. To continue to post your stuff, you need to get, re-watch his shares and save. 14. Concept: Behind the Scenes (Perspective): And finally, the last video idea is to capture behind the scenes of you making some like if you are on the job, you're doing something that is very interesting and everybody has an interesting life or position that they're doing. The fact that you're doing it means someone else is not doing it. And unless you're working a job where there's thousands of people or even if you're working at a job that has thousands of people, there's still a very interesting aspect to it that you can share, which is the creative part of it. So you have to work hard to find a creative aspect for you to push. But if you can show the behind the scenes of what you do, bring people from outside into where you're at and give them a taste of that life. It's gonna be very interesting and people are going to genuinely be curious. You have to make it entertaining in value providing enough for them to like it though. Like if you worked behind the counter at a burger restaurant, which is a very common thing to do, but a lot of people are doing it. You can still make a very interesting, like I saw another video at a fast food restaurant and their whole page was this fast food restaurant, but they showed how the crepes were made. They showed how customers came in and interacted. And they showed like behind the scenes of just making everything. And the total package of this was so value providing that, that people loved coming back to this page to see stuff like this about this fast food restaurants. So no matter where it is that you're working at, no matter what you're doing, it's interesting. It's interesting to somebody out there. So think about how to make it interesting and they're presented to the world. Now these are only some ideas of videos that you can do. It's not limited to only this. The challenge is to get super creative. So when you're hearing this, use it as a reference point. And then I hope to see you make some very interesting videos as well. Now let's move on to the next lesson. 15. Should I use a Professional Camera ?: Okay, common question, should I use professional gear when I record my TikTok videos? Now in this practice, in this TikTok course, I do use professional gear as I'm making my videos. The reason why is when I first started TikTok, my videos, I wanted them to stand out in quality so that every time somebody goes to my videos, they can expect a crisp, sharp video. Now, this scene of TikTok really doesn't have to be like that. So you don't need to have a professional camera for you to have a successful account. Tiktok, really about connecting with your audience. So using just an iPhone sometimes is probably better for connecting with your audience than using a professional camera. Let me explain why. So when somebody uses an iPhone and you see that view kind of like, you know, like face to face. Is it in some ways reminds you of a FaceTime video or a video where it's like just someone who is unfiltered and raw and it's genuine. Whereas with a professional camera that's going to go through some editing, that's going to look like it's working. There's probably lights and stuff making everything look good. Now of course, even with the iPhone camera, you should have a good life. But with a professional setup, everything's going to look a lot more polished. And in some ways, polished videos don't look as connective as a iPhone video where you're up on someone's face. So if you're just starting out and you're worried about not having the best gear, I would totally recommend that you just use what you have. Because that's the most important element of creating a successful TikTok channel is connecting with your audience. Now it really doesn't have to being a well produced production. As long as you have a camera, as long as you can talk and be genuine and tell the TikTok video story in whatever way that is most fitting for the story that you want to tell or the message that you're trying to get across, then you're able to make a good video. From there. It's really up to TikTok to push your video out to wherever it feels that it fits. But if you notice to a lot of the videos that you see on your For You page, or probably just a raw TikTok videos from your phone. And there's totally nothing wrong with that. I know when I've met a lot of friends who are trying to get into TikTok and they're all kind of orders. So they've been working in media for bed. They're like, hey, let's use a good professional camera. And I tell them that you don't really need that because you could just use anything that you have. And many times, not knowing how to use your professional camera actually holds you back because you need to be able to edit it to look good. And maybe if you're editing so much, it's going to take so much time out of use or you're tired. So you don't want to make more videos. Or if you are hiring talent to edit these videos, chip away at your budget. So if you are just getting started at TikTok and you are trying to grow your following and connect with your fanbase. Definitely just use what you have on hand. And then with that mic videos, as simple as you can, that gets the point across of whatever you're trying to communicate. And so that way you have content out to people. The most important thing is getting content out so that people can get a feel for who you are and what your channel is doing. Because once he had a feel for who you are and what your channel is doing, they're going to understand you more and eventually going to want to subscribe to this brand that you have. So that's why I always say it's very important to have a niche, a subject that you are known for. So that when somebody goes on your page, there's a lot to remember you as this type of channel and continue to follow you for that. Now, if you're still concerned about what tissue would just go and shoot with what you'd have five minutes thing. 16. Shooting the Video (Workflow): Okay, so when I start to film, since I have the light on or AD, since I have the light on, I'm going to keep it on. I'm going to plug this microphone in. This microphone adds a lot of quality to the audio compared to my original camera Mike. So we're going use this microphone, plug it in here. Make sure our batteries and stuff for good. And we're also going to put in a card if there's not already a card. So let's see if we have a card, and we do indeed have a card. So we're going to keep that card batteries at 90 percent, so we're ready to go. And then I get to the station and look and make sure everything's framed properly and it's not because we were just doing this. So let's have this framed properly so that I can get a good shot for the viewers. Let's see. And sometimes you have to do it in an angle. So like right here I'm at an angle that's perfectly pretty well framed. And I think I'm going to stick with this. Okay, Cool. So once we're ready with all their framing would not get ready to film. All right, cool. So we have the script ready and we got the camera ready. So let's go and film some of these videos and then go and edit it. Alright, so the first one, we're just going to do one that's really quick and easy. Just so we can show how it's done. All right. Now to the camera on and make sure everything's in order. Make sure my hairs and orders so that I'm presenting in front of a camera. It seems like everything is in order. Okay, cool. Picture my callers in order to we're ready to fill. Okay, Great. And we are okay. Get the focus really. All right. Now, I like to have the autofocus on because it focuses on my face. You don't have that feature. It is very important to have a flip back screen to do it. But let's begin. And one thing to note too, is when you do this, it's not always going to be perfect. You're going to have to do multiple takes sometimes and sometimes you stutter, but with the way that we edit, fortunately, if you stutter, then we can just cut it and put it in together where it fits really well. That's also one of the beauties of Tiktok. Okay, so the silos get started. Okay. If life sometimes feels overwhelming, this will help. Okay, let's do another take. If life sometimes feels overwhelming, this is going to help. If, sometimes if you feel overwhelmed in life, sometimes this is going to help. If life gets overwhelming for you, sometimes this is going to help. As caught practicing selective ignorance. Essentially, if you can ignore and redirect information that is a, that is irrelevant. That is irrelevant, unimportant, and in actionable. That is irrelevant, unimportant or an actionable. That's irrelevant or unimportant or an actionable. A lot of information were a lot of information and we're presented with daily is generally unimportant. Okay. A lot of information we're presented with is irrelevant, not in your best interest. And many times out of our control, a lot of information we're presented with is irrelevant and not in our best interests. And many times out of our control. Take social media posts, politics and gossip. Think social media posts, politics and gossip. Okay. It doesn't actually improve the quality of her life to know a lot of these things. It doesn't actually improve. It doesn't actually improve the quality of her life to have these things consume or brain. To convert self-doubt and I get overwhelmed. Start practice to calm yourself down and I get over to cut herself down and not get overwhelmed. Start press, start practicing a low information diet. To climate brain down and not get overwhelmed. Start practicing a low information diet. Okay? Sometimes it's futile. I mean, so, so far I like how it's gone, but the ending, I feel like need something stronger. So I'm going to do a couple more takes of the ending. And also as you noticed, as I was filming this, I did a lot of retakes on some of the things that I've been saying. To carry rain down south to comic brain down, to calm yourself down and not get overwhelmed, start consuming a low information diet. It can be as easy as going on airplane mode. Okay, I think there'll be good. All right, we'll use this. 17. Adding Photos for Engagement: So how do you add some more engagement to a video that's just a monologue or just somebody talking. The secret is adding photos to the videos. Now, if you watch these videos that I've uploaded over the next few videos, you'll see that every few seconds is a different image, and that image corresponds to what is being said on screen. What that does is it adds another element of dynamic movement in the video so that whenever an audience member as washing it, they're constantly engaged because there's something novel popping up every few seconds. Now what this does is it keeps the attention of your audience and at the same time gives the audience a new perspective to consider. So when somebody is just watching a video of a talking head, they might not know the full picture, but because now there is an image that goes along with that picture that helps the audience members see another side of everything. So by adding images every few seconds, this constantly gives the audience a way to be engaged, whether they know it or not. And if you are doing talking head videos like I am here, by adding an element of images with your talking head and monologues, you're only going to help your video gets so much better because your audience gonna be much more engaged and have a better understanding of what you're talking about. 18. Editing the Video: Okay, so we're starting off on Premiere Pro. And as you can see here, I have a project that I just started and we are going to start a new sequence. This sequence, I made a TikTok vertical template already, but essentially the template is 1080 by 1920 vertical. So as you can see on the right side, this is what it looks like. And I shoot all my videos in vertical because I think that's the best way to get the best quality if you don't have four K or AK capable camera. So here's this shot that we took the low information die and one, and I dragged it in and drag it into my timeline. And since it's 60 frames per second, I'm going to keep the existing settings. That way it stays at 2424, just looks a bit more cinematic when you go and view it. So once I place it in, you'll see that it's sideways. And what to do? What you do is you make the rotation negative 90 and bring it vertical, and there you go. So now we have a vertical clips to edit. And the first thing that I am going to do is since you saw me record is empty out the gaps. So it's really helpful that we have audio in here and it shows the waveform files. So essentially you look in between the waveforms and you delete these gaps of no talking. So I want to go and do that right now. Okay, So we have cut out all the gaps. If life gets overwhelming for you, sometimes this is going out, it's caught practicing selective ignorance. Essentially, if you can ignore and redirect information that is irrelevant, unimportant, or an actionable. A lot of information we're presented with is irrelevant and not in her best interest. And many times out of her control, think social media posts, politics, and Gosset. It doesn't actually improve the quality of her life to have these things consume or brain cells to calm yourself down and not get overwhelmed, start consuming a low information diet. Now, we're gonna move on to the next step. 19. Adding Captions (Method 1 - Advanced): You go on file on top and press New and then captions. And right here you go on open captions and just press, Okay, and then you're going to be prompted with this caption right here, drag it onto your timeline and stretch it all the way out to the end of it. And then you'll have captions to work with. Okay, so, uh, zoom in so we could work easier. And so right here is the first caption. And I like to move the captions up under my mouth. Since Tik Tok, it is better to have captions at the center of the video that way SAC or string to the screen, it pops up right there. So I have that caption box there. And I'll double-click this, that way I can edit it. So we'll listen and then we'll type in flapped. It's overwhelming for you. Sometimes this is not. Okay. So it says, if life gets overwhelming for you, sometimes this is going to help. If I've gets overwhelmed. Oops, this is going to help. All right. So you notice that the font is too big and you're able to actually go here and change the font sizes and change the fonts as well. So I want to make this 35 a 40. The whole thing. 35 or 40, but let's go with 40. And then I like to center it right there. And for font, generally I like something more modern. Light. Futura is premodern. These is back in as back in style. So here you go. This is the way to do captioning. And then you would caption the rest of your video. And to do that, you finish that part and then you press the plus and then you'll have another box to work on and to write your captions. 20. Adding Captions (Method 2 - Easy): Hey, I use this service called V dot io. And I'll, I do essentially is drag in my video and it auto captioned it. So I'll show you the process will be fast. So a drag my video in and then let it upload. While it's uploading, I named the project. So this one is low info diet captioned. And then we let it finish uploading. And then we'll go and show how the subtitle sulfate, okay, uploading is done. You go on subtitles. When you click auto transcribe and yes, English and give it a few minutes and then it's going to finish transcribing all these captions for you to edit. Okay, the caption to load it. And so first thing I do is I go on to styles and make sure that it looks good. I like to change the font. And I use Oswald a lot, everything capitalised. And then I move it to the center. Okay, so here we start off by seeing the first screen. It should say if life gets overwhelming for you, sometimes this is going to help and get rid of the sometimes part because it sounds better said, but not better written down. So we're going to click on this caption is to get the sum times. Okay? Now the second part, It's called practicing selective ignorance. So we'll put it back just to make sure I free sometimes. Okay. So I'm going to drag this one a bit longer. That way it fits perfectly. Now, essentially you want to do this with all your captions as well. If anything is out of place, make sure it's in place. Or if the text and fonts look weird, make sure they're spaced properly. And then when you're done, US export it. 21. Adding Captions (Method 3 - Easiest): So this is by far the easiest way to do captions on your videos. Tiktok recently introduced a function for you to do close captioning on your video. And you have to press this button on the side, and then it will automatically do the captions for you. At this point is going to take a minute, maybe a lot quicker. And it's going to do all these captions for you using their AI software. But the thing is, the software is not always going to be correct. So you have to go back and look through the words and make your own corrections manually. If you don't want to do that, then for the most part they're generally correct, but I tend to always go back and make sure that everything is laid out properly and that all the wording sounds, right? And once you're done, this is the final product. This is the happiest, healthiest tribe in the world. They're called the Huns of people and they reside in the Himalayan highlands and the average lifespan is a 100 years old. Many of them live even passed a 120 for many years, scientists have tried to figure out how they managed to do this. They study their lifestyle, what they eat, and how they live. And the credit three key things in the Huns, a lifestyle that gives them a happier, healthier life. The first one consuming raw and organic vegetables with low protein content. The second one having fresh water from the Himalayan Mountains. The water is loaded with minerals like potassium, iron, and calcium, which is essential for human life and finally, hard work. Their lifestyle consists of a lot of manual labor. Since they're up in the Himalayan Mountains, they have to do a lot of things by themselves and keeping their bodies active, play huge role in keeping them healthy. Are these somethings that you can implement into your life too? 22. Final Edit + Analytics: If life gets overwhelming for you, sometimes this is going out. It's caught practicing selective ignorance. Essentially, if you can ignore and redirect information that is irrelevant, unimportant, or an actionable. A lot of information we're presented with is irrelevant, not in her best interest. And many times out of her control, think social media posts, politics, and Gosset. It doesn't actually improve the quality of her life to have these things consume or brain. So to calm yourself down and not get overwhelmed, start consuming a low information diet. Okay, so that was the final. So okay, so okay, so that was the final product of the video. Now let's go and talk about some of the analytics that have happened. So this is like about a month later and, you know, after a month, essentially for the most part, I think the videos aren't going to get pushed anymore. So what you see here is essentially what you get. And let's talk about some of these key measurements. So total time watch is eight hours, which is great. And we got 2000 plays, 247 likes and comments. Nine people also shared the video, not my best-performing video, but nonetheless, a pretty good video in my opinion. So if you go down and look, you can also see that the average watch time is 14.2 seconds. And this video is actually a 30-second video. So most people watch almost half the video, which I think is very powerful. That means our first few seconds we're engaging enough to keep them entertained, to keep them in the video. Now, only 20 percent of people watched the entire video, which is 15. And since TikTok is a pretty fast platform, I don't think that is bad at all. I think that is actually very good to have one in five people watched your entire video. And if you look down a bit more to, you notice that it's split or the traffic sources is split between the For You page and the people that are already following me. So what's very powerful about the For You page is that this content was able to be pushed out to a lot of random audience that didn't know my page beforehand. So surely with half the people watching the entire video and also one in five people watching the entire video. It's surely would have gotten some good following and some good engagement rates. Now one thing I would add to go and back into the video, like I mentioned, to have an action step at the end. Now sometimes it does get repetitive of you do it too much. That's why I like to mix up some of my videos where some of them do say, please follow me, like comment and follow. And some of them, I don't, just because I don't want all my followers to keep seeing the same content because sometimes people will say, I already follow you. But regardless of that, this video did perform very well and I am happy with the way it turned out. 23. Ending: Okay, congratulations, and that is the end of the class. Thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate that you're here with me today as we learn about Tiktok and go on this journey together. Now before you leave, please leave a review about what he thought was the most helpful part of this class. That way it can go back and improve on it or take note of what to do more of so that my next videos are more powerful and engaging and most of our very educational for whoever is watching. Thanks again, and I'll see you in the next course.
