1. Introduction: Hello, my dear students. Welcome to this course. I am Bryana, and this course is designed for beginners. In this course, you are going to learn how to use alcohol-based markers and how to draw illustrations and creative drawings. Students, I use alcohol markers for this course and some colored pencils and some other materials to. I explained all the things you need to know and I explain every step in detail. And for your help, I showed that real-time art process. This course is going to be very easy for all the students. I explain which material you need, how to draw the outline, how to use markers and techniques you need to use. Other than the yeas. I also show how to make your drawing creative and how to build your own art style. I hope you liked this course. Thank you. So let's start this course. 2. Art Materials you need : Hi students. So let's talk about which materials you need for this course. First thing you need is a good paper. For the paper, you can use smooth or medium green paper. And the GSM should be more than one 20th. Gsm suggests that it is better to use 160 or 200. The next thing you need is graphite pencils for outlet. So use any HB pencils or you can use any HB mechanical pencils. Then you need one black marker. And I use some alcohol-based markers. Here, I use alcohol-based markers. You can also use any other brand that you are. The best alcohol marker, I say is Copic marker, but they are a little bit expensive. So I suggest that you use woohoo marker if you don't have that budget or if you're a big nudge. Another art material, I use, yellow watercolor. You can also use this yellow color. But if you don't want to use watercolor, then you can use alcohol-based marker also. It depends on you. And another thing is a black market that I use. It can be cheap. Okay? So that's all, that's all the material I use in this course. So let's start the next part. 3. How to draw outline: Hello students. So let's start trying outline. For outline, I use HB mechanical pencil, and paper. I use is one-sixteenth GSM mixed media paper. So for the outline, I am drawing shapes first because it makes easier to have an idea like where to start and how to draw the complicated drawing. You'll need to draw the shapes according to the reference. Here, I am drawing the unique fish. So I draw this kind of shapes. Now while trying outline, use less pressure and tried to hold the pencil from a little behind. One thing that I noticed in beginner is that they use too much pressure while drawing. And because of this, they're drawing doesn't look good. Given when I am beginner, I used to do the same mistake, but I corrected later. So one thing you can do is you can practice drawing outline every day. Outline is something that you can't learn fast. It needs it needs practice and a little more time. So practice everyday, around 30 min for one month. Or if you don't have that enough dying, then practice at least four days every week for like two months. And after completing this, you can see a major difference in your outline. I see that difference. So I would say that try this out. Here. I'm drawing I is according to the reference. I did for Luther reference picture accurately. I like sometimes I just draw things alike, which is easier for me. So you can also do that. If it's not Commission Work. Commission was then yeah, you need to follow everything according to their friends. But if it's not, then just do it one way, break it down and make little different shapes than the reference photo. So I use that method and wanting is I use HB, mechanical graphite pencil. So if you don't want to use this kind of mechanical pencil, then you can use the normal graphite pencils to use HB. Okay? I like HB pencils for outline. You don't need to be afraid of making mistakes. It's okay if you made any mistake, was trying out line harm, maybe coloring, to think too much, just do it one way. And yeah, I think I am almost completed the outline process. I need to fix it a little bit. Students, one thing you need to know is that you don't need to follow everything you see in the reference. Break the outline in simple shapes and add details. Like how I'm drawing this outline. And another thing is that I attached the drawing in attachment and clustering lecture section. So you can use that as a reference. You can go to the class project section. And you can use that reference and draw when you like. And when you start showing, you can draw along with me, along with my drawing process. Right now, we completed the outline process. So let's move to the next part and learn how to erase it a little bit. So let's see. 4. Outline part 2: So students already completed the drawing and the outline process in the previous part, right? So now you need to erase this outline a little bit. Like don't erase it. Like don't erase the whole outline. Just erase those part where you use benzyl 34 times and it's a bit darker. So dark lines can create problems in future coloring process. So you need to erase it a little bit. Now, erase it slightly. And now it is it slightly so that the lines are less visible. And yeah, you can do this step. And It's kind of important too. And you can follow this video to understand what I'm trying to explain. Okay. So we completed the erasing process also. Now need to color this drawing. So let's move to the next part. What I showed the coloring process. Thank you. 5. How to color : Hey, students completed the outline process in the previous class, and then we completed the adjusting process also. Now, let's learn how to color the whole drawing. In this class, you will learn how to use alcohol-based markers. You already know that I use all markers. So let's start this course. At first, I covered the idea and some other part. Using black marker for the outline. You can use any type of black marker that you have, or you can use a black, dark colored pencil tool. But I suggest ten marker, like something like a micron pens. Now, let's color the fish. Here. I use medium blue tone for the fish, and I am calling few areas where it is needed. You can watch closely to understand my techniques. And another thing is I use very less pressure. And here, hi, I'm working very slowly. I recommend you to work slowly while coloring because you might messed up a little bit. And another thing is, don't throw up the paper too much because it make to you. So enjoy the art process and work slowly. I feel artists all about fun, right? So don't feel pressured. Slowly work and build your creative side. Art is a skill that you can learn easily. But it takes time. That's it. So practice as much as they can and create a love for you. For this drawing. I am not using the exact color palette as the difference because, you know, I'm not doing the idealism here. I am drawing and creating some creative art kind of drawing. Or you can sketch. So that's why I feel I don't need to use the exact same color palette as the reference. Or if you want to use the same color palette, you can use that. But I suggest that you choose, choose colors according to your taste. Here, one thing I need to make clear that I'm not saying that don't use the same colors. If it's blue, use yellow, not like that. Like if it's blue, use blue but maybe not the same tone. Because mostly, I know when you are beginner or when you are just starting drawing, you don't have all the colors that because hard materials are actually very expensive, red show, most people don't have lots of colors. So this is a problem, not only beginners. If you ask me, I also don't have enough colors. So for that reason, I suggest that use color. They use the same door. But the tools you have, that technique is mainly one that you need, a lighter tone, which you're going to share it first, and then you need a medium tone. And lastly, you will need a darker tone. So here you can see I'm using blue. So the next thing I'm going to use, our use is also blue, but a medium tone, which is not gonna be too dark or too light. And then I'm going to share the darker here. And if I need to blend it a little bit, I'm going to use the lighter tone. Well, first the darker one. Soon. Understand, right? So I'm going to do and yeah, but other than that, you need maybe black. Black is I think really like when you were sketching and they're using alcohol marker and stop. You all almost like every time in need of black sketch pen or marker. And yeah, that's how I do it. Here. You can see I'm using a medium tone, shading it, creating a values and dark values, Miriam values. So you can do that too. Like when you are following the difference, I would say that it fits, but we choose purple. But maybe the tone is a little different. And don't think that you don't have enough colors. If you have 12 colors, you can create fairly good art with only a setup to help colors. When I used to be a beginner, I just started, I is to feel that I don't have enough colors. How can I draw this or that? But now we understand actually that we don't need lots of colors to make an art and less is better, I guess. Oh, another thing I want to say that if you want to learn realistic art, you can visit my account and watch the other courses to learn about realism. But this course is about creative art for beginners. And that's how we're going to do. I'm here creating some lines and shading keys Soon. How we are going to add a little dark value. According to judge your friends while loop practice this drawing. I suggest you to watch all the classes and tried to learn how I shared and how I'm using my hand to draw. Because watching how the artist is drawing is more beneficial than listening to their words. I use for this coloring process is the techniques I use for this coloring process is at first, I use the medium tone, lighter tone, according to the reference leg for this drawing, I use medium blue. Then we are going to add that little dark values, right? And then we're going to use all the dark values that is needed, like black, like a dark blue. Then we are going to add some details like highlighted radio and others. So guys, I'm shading this area where using this kind of color, this is not the exact yellow color, but it is yellow. Greenish tend. So I'm shading it all over. And I saw this color on the reference. And I thought let's use this kind of colors. So it looks a little creative panel. And if you feel like look at it somewhere, you will find it interesting to look because of this kind of colors. So I'm using these colors lightly and I want to shade other colors on top of the hair. So after I use other colors, it may not be visible too much, but it's going to look at, I know I am shading with the blue color and here I fast this process a little bit because, um, because, you know, this is just simple feeling, simple collaging things and everyone can feel the colors. So that's why I asked it a little bit. And him here, I'm drawing the lines with a secret colors and making it a little darker and adding the This attic and coloring this kind of abs. Okay, students, so let's watch the course a little bit. I'm going to talk to you after some time. If you're using alcohol-based markers, the sheets in the gap doesn't match the actual sheet. I don't know about Copic marker, but this is the thing with markers. So you need to swatch it like indifferent papers. If you are using a thick paper, then the color may look a little different. And if you're using a thin paper, the color may vary. Okay. Show the color. Changes a little bit according to tap paper also, you know, which kind of paper you are using. If you're using, if you're using a watercolor paper and sometime you may use the pads for alcohol markers. The result of the color actually vary sometimes. And it's this thing I'm telling you is from my own experience, I use the Woo-hoo once. A Copic markers is actually expensive, so I didn't bought those. But I feel low. Martha's are great Also. You can use them. If you are paying. Then you can upgrade to Copic marker if any, feel happy. The money. I wouldn't recommend Copic marker when you are first trying to use alcohol-based marker. So here I am lining this kind of parts. I'm going to kind of outline the areas. And I'm using are cheap marker. You can use a micron or maybe a black marker. Any black, my marker with a fine tip would work for this. It doesn't need to be too thin, but don't use that kind of marker. Okay, so I think this marker costed me only for $1. You can get almost eight markers. So it's that kind of J. And I also have microns, but I don't know why I keep those. So here I'm using this marker and I'm shading it, scribbling it a little bit. One thing I feel, you know, alcohol-based markers are really good. Like you can actually like when you are using it. It took some time. Like when it dries. Like the color looks so good, like blended and smooth. So I actually love this medium, alcohol-based marker medium. And paper actually matters. I would say, use a little thick paper for alcohol-based markers. If you're using it, one thing, papers, it may not work and it may look worse than you expect. So I would say use our dark thick paper, show and that's it. That's it. So we completed this part. And now let's move to the next part. 6. How to color part 2: So students, we completed all the process. Now. We need to do some little works. So here I'm using a black colored pencil to add details. I'm lining these kind of areas where I feel I need to use this kind of black colors. Or if you want to use any other colors like blue or any other query you can use that if you feel that you need to deal, even need to add details. And then I'm going to use this white color. This is white Jelly Roll pen. It is basically a gel pen, white in color. So here I'm using Sakura Gelly Roll pens. And if you don't have this brand around you, you can use other brands. There are different brands available. So if you don't have the, if you don't find the white gel pens, then you can use white acrylic markers, acrylic paints, or you can use Weidner to. So here I add details with a white gel pen. Now I have this bucket, this water, because I'm going to use watercolor. Now, if you don't like watercolor or whatever, if you don't want to do this step, you can skip it. But I like this. It looks creative. This is like my kind of step. This is my kind of style. So I'm going to paint around the first with watercolor. So I mostly like to use yellow color because it's bright and I really love this color. Here. I'm mixing these two colors together. And we're going to use this one paper so that it looks creative. And I already told you that I liked this step. And if you want to do this step and you don't have watercolor, then you can use alcohol marker in yellow color too. But I like to use the watercolor because it gives really creative field and it makes the drawing pop out. It makes the drawing little code. I don't know how to explain this, but yeah, that we understand, right. So here I am painting. I'm like coloring a little bit around the face. Now, if you never used watercolor, if you don't know how to use watercolor, I want to say don't mix the water too much. They use a little amount of water and then mix it with the colors and then apply it. Okay. That's Dutch rule. Because if you use too much water from messed up and walk slowly, use a small size paintbrush. And yeah, we all we're all done with this. And I already told you this is the step makes the drawing looks a little more birthday and it looks so good, so good. I can explain. I think you also liked this tab too, but I love it and that's all I hope you like this course will furnish. We finish all the art process and here's the result. What I came up with, and I suggest you to post your artworks in the class project section. And I'm going to review it. So let's move to the next part. 7. End part : Hi student. So finally, we completed all the drawing process. And I hope you like this course. Now, I suggest you to post your artwork class project section. And if you have any questions, you can feel free to ask me. And students. Practice drawing, outline, and coloring when you get free time and build and build your own art style. I hope you enjoyed this course and see you in my next class with some other fun art courses. Thank you.
