1. Intro: Hello. Do you want to draw female characters from your head? Do you feel like your anatomy drawing skills aren't quite at the level that you want them to be, then this class is for you. Here we'll start with the different types of female bodies that you can find in popular media so that you can draw your character or subject just a way you want it. Not only that, but we'll also go over different, helpful resource is to get references for your drawings. Then we'll be going through the different proportions and how to keep track of them all the way from the head to the teepee tells and, of course, will be going over somewhat. Practice will be trying both the front and the side view as well as the back view. This class is made to take you from your current trying skill to a deeper understanding off the body shapes and anatomy. So not only will be trying together a super dynamic pose at the end of the class, but you'll also be getting a handy body template that you can print out and use whenever you want. This will help you when you're looking for references or just want to try a new, different character. All right, so I'm pretty excited to show you this class, so let's get going. I'll see you in the next video. 2. Types Of Bodies: There are many different types of bodies that you can drop, and funeral bodies are no exception. So let's go over different body types that we can see in popular media. And in real life. Let's start with the very simple average human shapes here overall are very proportional to one another, and as you can see, the legs and a torso are more or less the same size. If you want to draw character with very medium height and even wait, these are the shapes we want to go for. A good exercise that you can do is to pick some image references and further shapes that you see on top off them like we did here. This way, you'll be practicing and memorizing what kind of shapes you should use when drawing the female body. Now people have different heights. Sometimes it's not very noticeable, but there are adult women shorter than average. Like this example us Truly. I'm pretty short, and as you can see, the shapes can change your beat. Maybe not their look, but their size. With shorter people, everything looks a bit more compact. The torso is not as alligators, and the legs will also be way shorter than the previous example. Now, what about tell people thesis quite the opposite. As with short people, the ships become more elevated and legs seem to occupy a big part off the body. It's almost like the legs are longer than the torso, as opposed to a very average height, where a torso in the legs are roughly the same size. Now the weight off a person will also change the kind of shapes you used to draw the body. For example, a person with more whites will have run the shape, so we will be using mostly circles incurs to draw the body. When drawing women, we tend to have some curves on the waist and legs, but that's not the rule that you have to strictly follow. For example, if you want to draw very thin character, then you need to use straighter shapes like here. The less weight someone has the last girls with the bodies show, so we tend to use more squared shapes to build a volume. Not only that, but you can mix everything up, so, for example, you can draw very tall but having person very short and thin when drawing the bodies, feel free to exaggerate the shapes. Think about the kind of character we want to build an exaggerator features. Let's see a few examples here and the from The Incredibles is a very good example of a short Girton. She's very small, and if we draw some shapes on top, we can see how compact these shapes are. Having the head bigger than the rest of the body helps her look even shorter. On the other hand, we have quelled to feel from 101 Dalmatians. She's very tall but also very thin. Notice health in the shapes of photo, so legs and arms are not only that, but her legs look very long in Sleeping Beauty. We have the ferries. They're very short, but also quite surely most of them at least. And as you can see, the shape for the torso is very small, but also very round. This exaggeration off the size off the shapes helps reinforce the idea of how short they are. Finally, we have one last example. We have the witch of the waste from Howl's moving castle. As you can see, she's very tall, but as opposed to Grella, she has some more weight. This makes for very interesting shapes is well again. You can see that most of them are very round. Once you get the hang off, drying the female body, play with its shapes and try different things to create different looks. If you're not sure how to draw a specific type of body, remember that there are a lot of amazing websites with great reference images. I recommend using pixel by Exel's and splash and finally, interest. All of the's have simply perfect images to help you draw. You just need to look for them. So this is it for now. We had a lot of examples here, and now we're going for the next video where we're going to talk about different proportions, so I'll see you there. 3. Different Proportions: hi and welcome back. We talked about different types of bodies and affirmation proportions once or twice already . Usually we use the head as measurement off the body. That said, if you want to draw a character with an average height, we usually use seventh and 1/2 or eight. Hence, let's go with eight year like this. So we have the hiss, one head that goes from the next to chest, another from chefs, two belly buttons, then one head for the waste, two heads that go from the waist to the knees and finally, two heads that go from the knees to the feet. So according to our first example, that means that if we'd like to draw smaller or taller character, the amount off heads use will be different. For example, for a smaller character, you can go with seven heads distributed like this. You already know where everything should be, so not just in to draw the body accordingly. If you want your character to be even shorter than as even less heads for the teller character, you will increase the number of heads so you could go with nine heads, for example, something like this the principle is the same, which is changing the height off the character and drawing the body accordingly. If you're ever in doubt about the proportions off the body of drawing, just use this method used to head this measurement distributed along the bodies length and this way you can check where you went wrong and fix the body to be more proportional. Now, this is it for this video. I'm going to give you this image as a guideline and reference for you if you want to use or just practice these methods. And in the next video, we're going to start trying the female body in the front few, so I'll see you there. 4. Front View: Hello, everyone. And welcome back. I know you've bean anxiously waiting for this and we're going to start drawing now. So I have here the figure we've done before, Very simply, Just so I have, as a reference to know where each party off the body begins and ends. Then I have here the heads the same to have some reference off how big each part of the body is. And now we are ready to start trying. I have here a layer on top off the heads went to pick up my pencil brush. I usually use the these rough pencil brush on clips to do for the sketches, but feel free to use any other brush that you prefer. Or if you're doing this traditionally, just use whichever to you prefer the best, and we're going to start with shapes before going for a more detailed sketch going to do some shapes. So we're going to draw the front view, so I'm going to start with hairs. Remember that this part off the trying does need to be perfect. You're just trying the main shapes off the Bali. So a line that goes down for the neck line for the shoulders, and now we draw the torso for it. Or so I used something like this. All right, so we know that the belly button goes to this line and that next we have the waste. So going to start trying here in line. So we're almost drawing. Um How do you call those Sends clocks an hour Glass eso were almost drawing an hour glass here. Health is for torture and the other half for the the waste So writes we have Here are waste . Remember, these are just shapes for now, there's no needs to be perfect. You can draw here two lines, so you have the shape off the neck from here. We have the breast. So with something like this, almost like a heart shape like this. Now I'm just going to draw the lines for the arms just so I don't forget anything for drawing our character right now in a very default position way Don't want toe do anything to too complicated right now. This is just so we know how to draw our body now from the waist. I'm going to go up here and draw the upper part of off the legs, which is usually a bit thicker than the lower part this circle for the knee. And now for the lower we go with curve here and here. I usually just draw a straight line like this off course. This is a beats off a stylized version going toe how I usually drop the body. So, for example, for here you can have a bit of a curve. Israel the insight off the leg. But I usually go with something a bit more stylized in with simple shapes. And I don't have the feet here just going to erase here a timely bit. Now for the feet. We're seeing them from from the front. So we can't do a lot with them here, and then we control the other leg. Which will we use the exact same kind off shapes, something like this, right? It's what we had a circle for me, and then we have to cook and finally a shape for the feet or the foot. In this case. Now I'm just going to tilts a little bit the legs because they're a bit too. There's a gap too big here. I'm just going to fix this so it doesn't look as weird. There we go. If you're doing these digitally, for example, you could just draw one leg and then copy paste the other leg, and you would have the two legs done right away. So these are our shapes were missing. The arms there just draw hit arms. So we have circle here, shoulder almost a rectangle shape for the up a partof arm. Then this theme, lower part off the arm, has a bit off a curve on the inside and the other line iss straight, going to keep simple shapes for the hands again. This are very stylised shapes. If we're going to be more realistic, the arms would have a bit more coves. But I find that this way. This is a bit more interesting, and it's a good way for you to know how toe go about it. Generally speaking, the outside the outside off the arm has small, straighter lines, while the inside has markoff lines. So here we have it. We have here are shapes. I'm just fixing here, and there are a few things that I think should be fixed. And now that we have our shapes, we can go for our sketch are more detailed. Sketch. We're not going to draw hair nor anything like that. This is just the body. So I'm going to add some conspiracy here to our shapes that a new layer on top. Now I'm still going to use my pencil brush my vessel brush and now I'm going to draw more detailed sketch for the head. There was not a lot of changes because these are very simple shapes and they will continued to be the same. And now I'm going to outline the whole body. So we have here are shoulder you can to hear a beautiful curve and here a bigger one. Again, I'm going to maintain the hands. Very simple, not the other arm curve here. That's a time where we're going to refine everything and change anything that feels too weird. All right, so the press now, this'd still a sketch show. There's no need to be perfect with your minds now for the waste and the rest of the torso. If you've seen my torso videos, you know that usually this line off the torso goes behind the line off the arms like we're doing here one side off the leg. Now the other sides. So we're just following our lines that one switches dudes with those shapes and doing something a bit more. This leg is looking a bit weird. It's not on the same just to make it more refined, so it makes a little bit more sense something like this. Now, don't forget the belly button, which should be so the waste begins s so it should be around here, right? That's what we And of course, you can exaggerate more or less. You're shapes here for the whole body. For simple, she could have a bigger and rounder waste. It can be more stylized. It all depends on your own heart style and how exaggerated you want the body to look for me , for example. I always draw the bodies. Either. Female bodies are my body's to be very a geometric, so they're very stylized compared to this one's. Even though I'm keeping some bits off a style here, I usually go even be on that. So we have our sketch and I'm just going toe adhere like a bodysuit are some sort to her. You don't need sudo, but I think it would look nice, but yet this is mostly it's for drawing the body. Now that we have sketch, we can draw our final lines. I'm going to hide this one just so I don't confuse any lines going to add some conspiracy to my my sketch, and I'm going to pick up the black here and go for my brush, which is what you here it is. Now again, I usually use this is a brush that I like God's. This is not in clips still do. But, for example, if you're using clips studio, I really like the cheap end. It works very similar to the one that I'm using, but as always, just used whatever feel more comfortable with, or feel free to try out different brushes off your software until you find something you like. The brush that you're using doesn't really matter lots as long as it's comfortable for you . So now all we're doing is just going over all our lines. Just don't have clean there drawing create cleaner and final trying so mean a little bits. I still feel that this is a little bit too big. Let's try six year. Yeah, that feels a little bit better, hard. This parts, I usually say, Teoh, just take your time. This is a good time. If you If you don't feel comfortable with your lines yet, then it's a good time to practice. Be very fluid with your movements, you'll see that you'll have very beautiful lines in no time. The trick is always practice and to be very fluids. Don't add too much pressure to your lines. Usually, if you're too tense, your lines will show the attention. And also don't be afraid to repeat your minds. You'll see me. You're raising and redoing the lines a lot of times until I am 100% happy with the line that I have. So don't be afraid off that. No rights. I've drew my feet here a little bit more stylized and Wednesday at the beginning, but I'm quite happy with it. I'm just going to show you what I meant before when I said that you can coping based one side's so it looks the same. Uh, usually I'm just going to show you, so I know how you do it, but you selected you quick control. See the Copa, then control plus V to place it, then transform it, which is controlled. T go up here to flip horizontal. You can also just instead off control. T. You can also come up to here, transform and flip horizontal. I usually do the control plus t and then click this foot in and you have the other leg done now. I usually don't really recommend doing this at the beginning, mostly because I think it's important to drew draw the whole thing. It's a good way to practice more you to the better your drawings will become. But it's a good thing to know, especially for trying some patterns or something like that. But I think it's important to draw them either way. Also, the body isn't 100% symmetrical, so it gives and Peter more a bit more of organic. Look, if you draw the whole thing without duplicating parts of it and then add them to the other side's a good trick, which I didn't do. I felt to do that here, but a good trick for you to have similar and for things to look symmetrical is to do both sides at the same time. So, for example, if you're drawing one arm when you finish the first arm, go to the other side and draw the other arm. Same goes for the legs, for the torso and everything else or for the ice, for example, of people sometimes have trouble withdrawing the ice symmetrical. But if you draw one, I draw the the stitches off T I at the same time. So, for example, you draw the eyelids, then draw the eyelids off the other I and so one. Then it makes it easier for you to draw so magical eyes because you just did that shape so you can replicate the same shape right away. So that's the trick and something that it's good to practice. Someone's for the knees here, the belly button. It's done. So now I'm just I just need Teoh finished the arm, which was giving me a little bit off trouble. Let's see if it goes better now. Yeah, much. But so again the hand which I'm keeping very, very simple, could not focusing on how to draw hand here. We just want to know everything stands and so everything is proportional. All right. I think this is it. Let me hide the sketch here it behind, maybe the heads. Even so, you can see the body, which is true again. We can just come up over here if you want, and draw a little bits off. Closing like this. Very simple are if we prefer, just leave it as it is. And there we go. We have the front body, the front female body drawn. The breast can be bigger or smaller. It's whatever you prefer or how you want to draw the body. The bigger they are, the usually will maybe hide some wines like Was he here? It onto has much this minds here off the arms and torso. The same goes for the body itself. And as we talked about, if you want to go to be Tina, then she will have less curve lines. In here you have straight lines and if you want right toe, draw someone with a little bit more weight. You will exaggerate even more how around the shapes are So, for example, the waste here can be even rounder Here you will also have somewhere curse. It's just all a matter off experimenting and practicing so you can start reduce with a very default body. And depending on the weights or even the height off the kilter, you can play with the ship's a bit more. But usually this is what we have and we know know how to draw our female body in the front view. And in the next video, we're going to draw our female body from a side view. So I hope you had fun. And I will see you in the next video. Bye bye. 5. Side View: Hello and welcome back. We drew our female body in first, Not a first for you in a front view. And now we're going to draw on the side view. Now, the side view is a bit different because the shapes were going to use 10 to change a little bit. So just so you have some more help, I have here the reference so we know where everything is. But from a side view, maybe these shapes might also help you when drawing it. So again, I have here my head's so we can draw everything in the right places and we're going to start. So I'm going to create a new layer on top off the heads. I'm going to pick up my pencil brush that I always use again. You don't need to use this one. Just choose wherever to you prefer. You can go with pencils and paper. Are you for trying digitally? Just choose the pressure more comfortable with. Usually I use basil brush for, uh, sketches. It feels more authentic. So I'm going to try and leave it here so you can see clearly the reference and we're going to start just like before with a circle here Now, this time. So in the front feel we made here are line and then the rest off the face. Right. But in this case, we can try it like this. So we do. What we do is we go with a straight line going down. So we know that the shin goes up to here and then a line going up to the middle off Skakel . Little bits more than the middle. And here we have our ear. And here we have the line off the ice. So this is the shapes we usually used to draw the sites of you off the head. So now from here, we can go down. We know that the shoulder start here as well asked the torso. So for that, I'm sorry. I forgot that I need you. I want you to see those shapes. So for that we can go for a shape similar today. So usually when we're drawing the torso, the shape we're going to use is like the Tor X shape, you know, like Artur x go something. I hope I'm pronouncing it right. But it goes something like this and then up right and the same in the front when we the Tareq seen from the front does something like this. So usually this is the the shape I use when drawing the dorsal. So there we go Now from here we can draw a line. This is just to help us know where the waste years and everything. So here we know we have the waste, right? So it starts right here and then it goes this way and then we can connect these shapes. Usually we will have a little bit off curve here Discovered is usually more accentuated when we're drawing women just going to try and draw the shapes a little bit bigger just so it follows the the first body were true. She's not. She has some girl, so let's try to maintain that. Okay, So we have the waste here and now for the legs. So for the legs we do get the beetle are from here and here go something like this. I can even go a little bits. Cedric discovered a little bit more. I hope this is not going. Look, I think it's going good. If it's a big tilted, I'll I'll fix it elected. So for Tony on the front field, the news right here in the middle, right? We're going to draw the knee to the right side. You can even do some a shape like this. What is your belief? It helps like where the knee ends now. Here we have to cut off the leg back leg here, Straight off course again, this is a bit more off a stylized approach we do have. It's some some more curves to the legs. But a good way to go about it is that the front part off the leg has less curse than the back and the same goals when withdrawing, the front who is at the side of the leg has less carbs than the outside. If you're going for a completely stylized approach, then probably you don't have any girls at all it inside of the leg or, in this case from the side. And we have any curves on the front side off the leg. So we have here almost everything. All we're missing is going just make ahead. A little bit bigger is the breast. So the breasts let me just see where it and somewhere like thistles, right? So they come from here and then go here. This is the shape we want. Of course, If there are bigger or smaller, you have the shape going. More outwards are inside. Now, as for the shoulder, we know that it's in this line. So we need to draw our shoulder right here. And now we can do. Here are shapes. I might erase these lines here just so you can see better. Where the armies can now way have been Kirsten, just like we did. Let me think it's like this. We do have a bit of a car on both sides. Here it ends and then we have our hand right This time the thumb goes behind the rest off the bone. So something like this I might just tilt here this arm a little bit. Just so it isn't. It looks a little bit static here just to give some more movements, and it fits a little bit better what we had on our front. So something like this. So we do have our shapes, can just draw here now the rest of the neck. And now I think we can draw our detailed sketch right. So these are the ships were going to use as you can see, for example, for the legs. The shapes are very similar, the torso and the ways to change a little bit. But all we are changing mostly, is its perspective, so the shape is still the same, but we're seeing it from the site. So now I'm going to go up here at some conspiracy to the drawing and new layer on top. I'll keep my passel brush. And now, with the dark its own, I'm going to start trying everything but more and more clean way and more detail. One thing to have in attention when drawing the head from the side is that sometimes we tend to draw it, and you can also do this different for most I last way, but usually the head from the size the side. It's not a perfect circle. It goes a bit like this, you know, like the cranium. He's a bit elongated off course that spending on your style, this is my change a little bit, but it's a good way Teoh to learn and to start, so we have hit arm. As you can see, I'm adding some clothes. Tow it we have here. I'm going toe make the hands Just adding a little bit of movement to the hand. Nothing much like this. Now, here. Don't forget the breasts. Also, you can add here a little car for the the arm we can, even, for example can arise here signing bits like this just so we don't have too much too many lines. Okay, so we know that the belly button is around here and then it goes a bit out again. It's on me and then we have the leg. The leg goes here, goes inside. So we do see it a little bit. And finally we have the other side. So curve here for the back of the leg for our muscles here and the rest of the foot. Now, ofcourse one off the the nice things about drying the side view is that you don't have to draw two legs or arms. Things like that. It's just one side, so only one you need to draw. I say it's a good thing because then you don't have to be worried about having symmetrical arms, magical legs, symmetrical eyes, stuff like I did I know we tend to worry about just going to keep for a little bit more shape here. Maybe too much. Something like this I might do. Her leg had a little bit smaller, but this is it. We have our more are clean sketch and I'm going to draw the final lines. This is the usual process that I go about going to put again a vector layer on top. I'm going to pick up my pen brush. Now I do. You use a brush that doesn't come in quips studio, but a good plan to start weight If you're using whips, Studio is with the cheap, and it it's very similar to the one I'm using, really. And it's the one that I used when I started using Clips Studio so I can get into that. It is the last one is very easy to use. It's very normal and basic, but again, there's many brushes it can use. So if you're using quips studio, are any other software really feel free to experiments with the difference brushes that you have and see how you prefer to work with? I think it's very important, so now I'm just going like before. I'm just going over our lines here. Nothing too complicated. We have. Most of the work is done and now we just need to clean everything and give it a final look . If there's anything you want to change, now is the time. Just adding some curves here. I don't know. I don't want it to be too perfect you. Now the bodies in perfect isn't. I know that we tend to stylized and to make it look a bit more according to our ideals. Sometimes it's nice to try and give it more of a natural look and not s perfect think its funds a good exercise. So the arm here, my change, the arm of tiny bids mostly because I think it's looking here between what I'm going to do is hear this mind here. I'm going to keep it straight. It would die for you to have cleaner lines when doing when working digitally is one of the things is by using stablization tool or poor option with a brush, it will help you. It helps me a lot since I my my hands tremble a lot, so I do use a little bit of it and drawing quick lines like I'm doing it will help help that because sometimes when they're drawing, so if you do like something like this, it is a bit harder to keep the line from traveling now. Since I'm using supposition, it is a bit easier, but as you can see, it's not as easy to keep control of it. So try to do a quick and smooth lines like this. This way, of course, it depends on each person. I know that some artists rather work with slowly into drawing the line slowly. For me, this is what it works. So it's you can try it out and see if it works for you as well. So okay, I think we are done like me. Just hide the sketch here. Look at it. Yeah, I think that's good. It looks similar to the body we did before that. Sometimes the hardest part is when we're doing Major is tilted a little bit. Not sure is to breast and the breast might be a piece too high. I mean, try it. Here's something yeah, they are. Go beat hard, so I need to change them a little bit But yes, when we're drawing the body from one few and then trying it from the other view, it is a bit hard to make it look like it's the same. Body can be a bit heart, but this is nothing like practices and and a few tries until you have the body, just like you wanted. Okay, so I think we are done with our side view. As you can see, if we break everything down into simple shapes, as always, it will be easier. And it's not as scary as it seemed at the beginning. So we have Here are body from the side view or female body. And in the next few jewel, we're going to draw the same body, but this time from a back view. So I'll see you there. Bye bye. 6. Back View: Hello, everyone. And welcome back. We are here for the back view. And the good news is that for the backfield, the shapes were using are very similar to the ones used at the front view. So I'm going to go here. I'm going to make, um, the front view shapes visible so we can take a look at them. And now we just need to try that So again, going to add a new layer going to pick up my reds and my pencil brush, and we're going to start with the head. So one thing about the head this time, uh, the back off the head is on top off this side like this instead, off it, going here in the front. Now it goes inside. That years are also on the other side, off the head and on it goes up to here. This is just something for some time, not going toe adds the the line for the eyes here because there are no eyes here right now . This is just something to have an account when trying, so we don't forget. Sometimes we might forget that withdrawing this in a certain view and then with joy trunk. So the torso shape goes after here are If you prefer that the Torah rocks shape like this, the shapes you use Go, go. It's all about what you feel more comfortable with and makes more sense to you. Uh, for here I usually go with this kind of shapes, but it's all up to you and what your humor comfortable with. I'm trying to maintain the same measurements I did for the front few. So here, also the breast in this guy's We don't draw them because we can see them from this few. So now we have a curve coming right here, right? That's what we did before. I'm going to do here the the circle for the knees. Although the needs air, something that we also want to be trying later on because we don't see them from here and here we have fits. You can have maybe showing on the other side the rest of it. But we don't see a lot off the feet here in this trio Israel, and we trawl the other leg, which I hope stays similar as the other one here. So as you concede, the shape spa reddest jumiller to watch we true before, All right, something like this. There might be a bit too far apart. The legs here. I might join them together a little bit, but these are our shapes. And again they are mostly the same shapes we did before. So it's practice in time. So we always have our shapes memorized and we know how to draw the body. All right, so now if Polly I'm missing is our arms, right? So how did we do? They go a bit outside, right? So we have here this shape and this one and now we have the hands here cannot the same on the other side. I have this shape. Then this shape also hear something. But I will show you better on the next kitsch. But arms again on the other side. So it's lines go according to that just returned here This because I was drawing the Cubs wrong, just like I did with the legs in our first drawing. But this is its way. Are ready to go for our a detailed sketch. Just have to change his arm a little bit because it's looking bigger, can the other. It's mostly because of its angle. Now it looks similar to the other one. All right, so now we can hide this one way can show here are front side again. I think I need to move them a little bit because I don't have a lot of space here, So let me just move things around the little bids. And now we can work this Arka. So now we can see everything and not go outside of our campus. So something's beauty here again. It's the same processes before new layer on top, a darker tone. And now we're ready to draw. Our has our body from the back view. So in this guy's we see the neck going in front, off the head shape like this. So we have here are shoulders arm. Now here is what I was going to talk about is that the stars align as opposed to before. So here we had the arms on top off this Thurston lines in this guy's It's the opposites. So the torso line goes on top off the arms. Now we're just going through our lines and give it Teoh clean that look, not other sides again, keeping everything symmetrical is a bit tricky and even almost impossible if you ask me. But with some practice and at some point we managed to do what we want. It won't be 100% symmetrical, but it will look pretty identical. So here we have her on the shoulder arm here, Car here and the hands. So there we go. I have Here are body from the backfield The sketch in to fix here the feet a little bit. It's there looking a bit weird. One thing can dio you want to give everything very simple is just doing something like this . So just a square basically and then you can add here bids off the front, off the feet showing up Not a lot. Now we go thes makes much more sense. So this is it for now we can go. I think we can go for our final lines again. The body. I think it looks pretty similar to what we've done so far. That's good. So now I'm going toe hide the shapes here gives intra spirited toe our sketch queen sketch in organs Draw our final lines. Just same thing we did before. So going over our all our lines that we did so far and give it a clean look, a curve going outside pence making the the ends the legs of Tina. Just a line here to show where our bottom is a nice day until we can add this, for example, this line for the back off the leg. I feel that the ends off the leg steal a bit to seek compared to once we had so far. Now we need to draw the other side. So the mistake I did hear, for example, remember when I said that to help having things symmetrical, The good way to go about it is by drawing one side and the other than one side and the other at the same time. I didn't do that here. So now it's going to be a bit tricky here, but we can do this r squared shape here, going for the other arm on the shoulder here and we'll finish up the feet later afterwards in this case. So it goes up to here. All right, so now we have the fit to draw and it's going to be something like this to maintain the same kind of shape an idea that we did for the other side. So she's kind of a little bit on her tiptoes, right? It's not the most realistic view, but it helps us drawing the feet. The little bits. Just so we see them a little bit and also gives me a bit of an idea, like she was made walk or something like that. So let me hide the sketch here, and we can see everything together. There we go. So this is how I go about drawing the female body. I hope this was helpful for you. We used very simple shapes. We can also like hard here online for the back. Something like this. Very simple. And now that we know this Paul we need to do is practice trying our female body, but in specific poses. So that's what we'll be doing in the next feed you. I'm going to be looking for for the reference, and then we're going to be trying that, So I'll see you there 7. Posing The Body: Hello and welcome back. So right now I'm going to look for before the reference that we can use for our posing so we can draw our female body in the specific pose. Really? Like this one? I think I don't want to go for the very complex pose. I want to keep this very begin their friendly. I'm also going to let you download the image that I'm going to use if you want to use the same one all. If you want to use another one pill, Frito, to look for an image that you like and draw it, it's perfectly fine. One thing I want. For example, I wanted to be full body because that's what we're practicing. So I think that's what I'm going to look for specifically just going to stroll a bit more. I know we can't really see the fact leg, but we know it's standing straight, so begins know enough of it, So, yeah, let's go with this one. I think this one is interesting and we can work with it, so I'm just going to download this open up and clip, stood you, and then we can start drawing. So this will take just a second, and then we can start drawing. All right. So I have here my image reference. I want to point out as well that this is your assignment. So this is a good time to practice it again. I'm going to be giving you this image. So if you want to draw the exact simple I'm drawing, I'm also giving you this template. So be sure to download it from the project sections and, well, let's practice our pose off the female body. Also, you don't need to draw this image. Find whatever pose wherever reference Hugh wants. It's all the same. You've learned the basics. So now it is time to put it into action so you can even take pictures of yourself, find other pictures and just practice supposes. You can even post more than one polls in the project section. So just practice alert. Not a good trick. I know that sometimes we'll look at the pose and we start here. We start trying to figure out the shapes and everything right. And sometimes I know this can be hard, especially at the beginning, and a good way to find out your shapes is to try to draw the shapes on top off the image. So, for example, we have Here are reference and let's start with the head. So we have here ahead. But now we learn that there's a line going down for Nick and then we have the shoulders here. Now here we have the schist. We do a shape similar to what we've been doing so far. We can also just bring this line down here. So almost our line off actions also a good thing. Let me just move these little bits. If you're just starting, tried to look first for the line off action, for example, For this image from me, I think it goes from here, here and here. This is my land of action, and then you can start drawing your shapes on top. So let's just continue and you can even practice just like no factions for quite some time . This is something I recommend in my figure drawing class, which is just pick a bunch of pictures of references and just draw the line of action either on top off the image or just open your sketchbook, look at images and draw the lines of actions on your sketchbook. And then when you feel ready, you can go for the shapes like we're doing here. But I think that's drawing the shapes on top of the image will help you a lot at the beginning. And then you can just start trying your shapes outside of it. So, for example, here we have one arm rights notice that we're having here. The exact same measurements that we has while drawing the standing still bows. So we have here, here and the hands. But notice that the shoulder with shoulder, not the shoulder the elbow goes up here to the waistline. Everything is in the same places. So here we have the waste, right, It s Oh, and now from here we can draw our like. In this case, it's folded, this one and then we have the foot, something like this. And now this one we have here, the this'll leg is a bit behind, but we do see it here. We see the foot here, right, so we just need to find and draw its accordingly. So knee goes up to here on then the rest of the legs and foot something like this. Okay, so we found our shapes. As you can see, it's very good to see the ships were used are all very similar to the ones we used when drawing the standing pose. And the same goes for the proportions. We did find all the proportions go according toe. The ones we used. So now from here we can We just did our stick figure right Like we had here. So let's not find the shapes that will form the tea. Actual body. So we have here the heads. Let's continue here. The head. It's a bit on its side rights. So here and here and here we have our years, right? Can you even draw here? The line 40 fights, right, So the neck goes here and here we have one arm and this line of elbow goes on top off the rest. The upper part of TR Now here we have the shifts. Rest of the torso. This is pretty much a straight line here. Right here. We do have a little bit of occur. So here it goes. This way. When you're doing this when you're trying this, this'll will obviously change from style to style, but feel free to exaggerate your shapes. So, for example, here I could accentuate this curve even more, You know, like going like this. So now we have here the leg, right. The leg goes in front, off the rest. So one more shape. We have here this shape for me, not a complete circle like we saw on our side view. And then here we have the bottom or the rest of our leg. So discovered also goes on top this shape here and then finally have the foot, which is about a similar shape. Now we are missing just physical here. I can also exaggerate Here shapes a little bit. We know there's the leg here now. We talked about leg that the inside of it has. The inside is a straight line and the outside has some. Good. So there we go. We have here our body. No, I'm missing here to arm. So we have the shoulder right elbows here and then to have two picks. And then we have here the rest of our farm. So way started with very simple shapes and lines. Now we shaped it a bit more and now we can go for a detailed sketch so we don't have any of these extra lines going on. So I think that in drawing generally, the trick is always to just break everything into smaller step. Sometimes we and we get overwhelmed by this because we try to do everything right away. It's much easier to break it down into simple steps. So instead of this trial starting to draw the whole body just like we see it, let's break it down into simple shapes. In this case, which is started with lines with squares, right? We had here square, we had lines here. Here we are, almost hards triangles, bit of a triangle shape. Then we had just someone's going down and lines here for the leads and 40 arms and them. We have our body builders. It's built now we just need to start and refine it. So then we drew on top of our stick, figure that that's basically it is a stick figure. We drew better shapes for the body, and now we're go for this next step, which is refining our sketch. You can even add here if you want a bids off the hair for example, if you want to just add a little bit more to her so her hair goes this way. I'm going to live it Very simple. There we go. This is it. We don't need to do more than this. I'm not going to draw the hair in front like she has you just because I want us to see just because I want us to see the body more clearly. So now we are at the step where we're just going over our lines. So, like we did before were just going over all our lines and refining the drawing. I just realized that thes arm is a bit too close. So I'm going to move it a little bit because, as you can see, there's some space between the arm and her legs in bottom. So I'm going to try and give that space. So just so you see this space here again, keeping the hands very simple, just simple shapes for the hands again, I'm exaggerating a bit more discovered here. You, I think I'm going to I'm going to bring this line beat more over here because her leg is crossing a bit with the others. so it doesn't go as outwards hat as I was doing their so doing this step lengthy. One more sketch is always very useful because you can fix any missed mistakes. You've done so for me. It's very useful, and that's why I always I showed this process in the classes because if you're having any doubts about what you're doing, you have multiple chances to change and to better but see how much easier it is when you just break everything down into simple shapes. Now, if you're taking your own pictures or funding references again, if you're just beginning, it can be helpful to find almost nudes models like wearing some underwear or something just so you can see the body a bit better, because it can be very weird. Example. I think that she here hurt play, exhibit turn cried So which means that the curve in disguise, if we do it to be turned, is on the other side, so sees something like this makes a little bit more sense. Also, we see here that the shoe, it's a big turn to the side. It's not turned to us, so this makes it a bit more sense to are to are drawing here. Okay, So I think we are ready. And we can now go for the final lines. Just great to know everything. A little bit to the side like this, someone to hide the first sketch going to add some conspiracy here and now we can starts are final lines. So just like before, this is just going forward. Our lines that we have so far keeping the hair very simple. I don't want to focus on it, just focusing on the body. So if you don't need to draw any hair, not any details, for example, the face. There's no need to draw that. For now. You're just practicing the body, so don't do things that will leave you overwhelmed. Just practice drawing the body. For now, if that's what you want to get better at at moments and then when you're ready for when you feel you're ready, you can go for for the faces and anything else you might want to. I just want to live like a very simple shape for the hands, not things to special. Also, you can see that in this image are Muggle. She's quite thin so we don't have a lot of round shapes. And, of course, as you develop your own style and how you like to draw the bodies, your shapes, my change little bits, it's the way you draw them. As you can see, my shapes overall present for the feet are not very realistic, but the idea of it comes across. So I know by basics and with some practice I was able to go from realistic to my own style and kind of shapes I like to use can notice how the line off the arm goes behind the source . Align on the other line of our first here. But this is it. I think we're done. We true Arquette character in a more dynamic boasts again, This is your assignments. So feel free to post your poses on the project section. I'll answer to all of them and give you some feedback. This image will be available for done with as well are. You can always find your own references that made just, um, show here or whole process for our last video stereo. So again we started read a stick figure. We found our shapes. Then we try to give form, toe everything with very simple shapes again with a detailed sketch and clean the sketch and finally, our final lines. So this is the way I go about when trying to understand how to draw something. I always think it's much easier if you just break everything into simple shapes and then go go from there. So if you think that's drawing the final lines off, a body is too much for you right now. Then feel free to just draw a line of action and simple shapes. And when you feel that you're ready for more than go for a more detailed sketch and finally a clean line arts. So this is it. I hope you had fun. Stick with me for just a little bit so I can give you some final thoughts and a small conclusion. So I'll see you there 8. Final Thoughts: Hello and welcome back. I just want to say Amazing job. You've gone through the whole class and hopefully learn a lot about drawing the female body . Now remember, to post your assignment with your dynamic posts, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you can come up with. So keep in mind that it is not only there are many different body types and proportions, but there are also different art styles that you can use. So don't be afraid to try different things and go out of your comfort zone. It's part of the process, and it's fun now, as always, if you enjoyed this class and would like to see more, I would appreciate if you could leave me a review. It helps me keep going, and it really makes my day to read all your thoughts on the class. Oh, and be sure to check my other classes as well. I have over 30 quest on drawing different things, so I would love to see you and your artwork. Death. All right. That's about it. Thank you for joining. And I'll see you next time. Bye bye.
