1. Intro: Hello and welcome
to my art class. In this class I will show
you how to draw realistic. I'm using a pencil or any
other drawing program. We will go step-by-step
throughout this class and I will show you how to create an ice sketch, how to draw the
iris and the pupil. How to draw the sclera, how to draw the top
and bottom of the eye, how to draw the eyelashes. And finally, we will
apply some elements that will give the eye a more
realistic appearance. At the end of this course, you will be able to
draw eyes of any shape. And the more you practice, the better you will become. Thank you for deciding to participate in this class
and I hope you will like it. I think we're going
to have a great time. So let's get started.
2. The Sketch: Hello and welcome back. In the first chapter, we will draw the
outline of the eye. We will draw a straight line
that we will erase later. We will start on the left side at the level of the line and we will begin to draw the
area of the lacrimal glands. Then we will arch
the line upwards, drawing a semicircle
that will stop a little above the line
on the right side. Usually the area of the
lacrimal glands does not perfectly joined the right
outer corner of the eye, it being a little higher, we will make sure
that the part above the line is bigger than
the part below the line. Next, we will create a line
above the eye that will represent the line
that the eyelid used to make when
the eye is open. This will follow the
line of the eye and in the outer part it will be
a little more extended, thus forming a
more closed angle. We will draw a circle
in the middle of the eye that will
represent the iris. It will be perfectly round and will not touch the
bottom of the eye. In its center, you will find another smaller circle that
will represent the pupil. On the left side in the place where the
lacrimal glands end, we will create some
lines that will represent the starting
point of the sclera. At the bottom of the eye, we will draw another line
perfectly parallel to the eye, which will represent
the place where we will start drawing
the eyelashes. Then we will draw two
geometric shapes in the iris area that will
represent points of light. These points of
light give life to the eye and it is vital to
use them in the drawing. Thank you and see you
in the next chapter.
3. Drawing the Iris and the Pupil: Hello and welcome back. In this chapter, I will show you how to draw the
iris and the pupil. We will start with the pupil which will have a
dark black color. So we will insist
more on it so that it can be differentiated
from the iris. After that, we will move
to drawing the iris. We will start by creating perpendicular lines
on the pupil. We will make sure
that these lines are symmetrically drawn. So first we will create reference lines and then we will create others inside them. Then we will take each segments separately and fill it with many symmetrical lines oriented
in the same direction. We will continue carefully
so as not to make mistakes because they will mean a lot in the final
appearance of the eye. If we cannot erase the lines
inside the light points, I recommend not to
draw over them. If you draw digitally and you can easily erase them later, then don't worry, just draw
over the points of light. After we have finished with
the first layer of lines, we will continue with drawing symmetrical lines with
the previous ones, but they will be found only
on the edge of the eye. If you use a pencil, then choose a darker
shade for this step. Do not rush, but proceed
with great care. We will do the same thing inside the eye right next to the pupil. We do this so that
we can give the iris a spherical appearance. After that, we will thicken
the outside of the iris, but this time we will create
circular lines along it. We will press harder on the outside and
less on the inside. At the same time, we emphasize the lines
perpendicular to the pupil, thus creating an
imperceptible transition between the thickened outer part and the inner part of the iris. We will not fill all the
spaces between the lines, but we will also leave
some lighter in color, thus providing a
realistic appearance. Along the way, we
will notice that between the pupil and the
outer edge of the iris, there will be a
lighter colored part. If we work digitally, then we will be able to
erase the extra color from the points of light to
leave them perfectly white. Then we will add some
curved lines that will represent the reflections
of the eyelashes. We will insist on the iris as long as we consider
it necessary. Thank you and see you
in the next chapter.
4. Drawing the sclera: Hello and welcome back. In this chapter, I will show
you how to draw the sclera. We will start by drawing
the lacrimal glands. We will insist on this because it will have
a darker color. In the middle of it.
We will leave a spot of light that will
represent the reflection of the light because
that area is generally wit and the light is
reflected very easily. Then we will move on
to drawing the sclera. We will start by creating
symmetrical hatches, but if a light shade on the
entire surface of the eye, we have to take into account the fact that the eye
has a spherical shape, so it will be darker on the edges and lighter
in the middle. We will insist with
hatches on the edges and we will make sure
that it will be creating a sphere effect. After we have finished the
hatching on the left side, then we will create
small streaks of blood that can branch
out as desired. These are very thin, so we will use a well
sharpened pencil or if we work digitally a small
value with the brush use. We will also hatch the
part under the eye, the place under which we
will draw the eyelashes and then we will move to
the right side of the eye. We will hatch in a
similar way as well, insisting more on
the outer parts. After that, we will add the small strands of
blood here as well. These threads give the eye a much more realistic
appearance. Even if it will
take us more time, we will not stop until we
have a very good result. When shading, we will be
careful not to press very hard, especially in the middle part of the eye where it should
be lighter in color. Thank you and see you
in the next chapter.
5. Drawing the Top and the Bottom side: Hello and welcome back. In this chapter, we will draw the top and bottom of the eye. We will start by drawing
lines along the eyelid. These lines will be parallel to the eyelid line
and the eye line. During their drawing,
we will emphasize the area below the eyelid line
to form the shadow effect. After creating the
parallel lines, we will create other lines
perpendicular to the others. We will also extend the hatching at the level of the
lacrimal glands. We will continue to hatch on the right side of the eyelid, starting with parallel
and perpendicular lines. We will alternate them
according to desire. After we have finished with
the part of the eyelid, we will continue a
little above it. We will use the same
hatching method with more emphasis on
the part near the line. We have to give a deep
look in that area. And for this reason, the areas near the eyelid line will be darker in color but not as dark as the eyelid line itself. We will also slightly thicken the outer line of
the lacrimal glands. Next we will move on to drawing the lower
part of the eye. We will draw some barely
visible lines that will curve down a little and then
take the shape of the eye. We will hatch between them both vertically
and horizontally. And we will insist on the
areas above the lines. We will continue to
hatch carefully until we consider that we have
a very good result. Thank you and see you
in the next chapter.
6. Drawing the Eyelashes: Hello and welcome back. In this chapter, we
will draw eyelashes. We will start from
the lower right side near the lower line of the eye. The lashes will be rounded at the top and continue
longer at the bottom. We will draw them like this. If we divide the eye
into three parts, the left side, the middle,
and the right side. We will draw the eyelashes with the orientation in a semicircle. The right side eyelashes will be oriented most to the right. The closer we get to the middle, they will be more
and more straight. And when we move
to the left side, they will orient their direction towards the left
side more and more. We will not draw individual and perfectly
parallel eyelashes. We will make sure that
they overlap from time-to-time and their
sizes will be different. When we start from
the left side, the eyelashes will have
the smallest size. Following that,
towards the right, their size will
gradually increase. Next we will move to the
upper part of the eye. Here the eyelashes will be
thicker and more dense. We will respect all the previously mentioned
orientation principle and we will start
from the right side. They will arch more down and start from the upper
line of the eye, more precisely under the eyelid. We will be careful not to
draw them perfectly parallel, but to intersect
with each other. After we have finished
with the right side, we will move to the middle
side where there will be only a few vertically
oriented lashes that will still have
a slight curvature. We will continue with
the left side and their length will
decrease more and more. Their direction will
also change to the left. We will continue to add
lashes until they are symmetrically oriented and
spread out proportionally. In the upper right part,
there will be more of them, and as we go to the upper
left part, they will be rare. Thank you and see you
in the next chapter.
7. Final Touches: Hello and welcome back. In this chapter,
we will emphasize certain areas that we did not insist on in the
previous chapters. We will thicken the areas
that need thickening and we will hatch the areas that
need additional hatching. We will insist until we are
satisfied with the result. We will also insist
on eyelashes. We will add or
thinkin according to desire until it looks as
aesthetic as possible. After we have
finished emphasizing all the areas that
needed attention, we will move on to a
very important step in drawing the realistic I. We will add points
of light that give the feeling of a wet
environment to the eye. This will make it much more
realistic and give it life. We will start by adding
parts of white lines, both in the lower part of the eye and in the
upper part of it. We will not exaggerate
with these, but we'll only add a few. If you work digitally,
then it will be easy. We will erase using the eraser. If you work directly on paper, then use a white gel pen. We will also add points of light at the level of the
lacrimal glands. Then we will move to
the level of the iris, where we will also add
some points of light. We will also add some lines of light at the
level of the eyelid. Thank you and see you
in the last chapter.
8. Closing Thoughts: Hello and welcome back. It seems that we have reached
the end of the class. So let's recap what we learned. First, you learn to
make a sketch of the eye and what is
its correct shape. Then we learned how
to draw the iris and the pupil and how to add
the two points of light. Next, we learned how
to draw the sclera and why it is important to
give it a sphere effect. In the next chapter, we drew the top and bottom of the eye, these parts being
represented by the skin. Then we learn to
draw the eyelashes. Following that in
the last chapter, we will learn how to add those small points of light that will significantly increase the
aesthetic aspect of the I. Thank you for participating
in this class and I hope that all of this
information was useful to you. If you have questions, don't hesitate to put them
in the comments section. Good luck and keep drawing.
