1. Introduction and Supplies You Will Need: Oh Hi, friends. How are you? I hope you're having a great day today. I'd like to introduce you to this project. This is a drawing and Watercolor painting project that I designed, especially for kids. You do not need to have any drawing or painting experience at all to be successful with this project. I will take you step by step through all the steps that you need to take. Today, we are going to be creating this cute bunny holding a heart. Let's talk about the supplies and the materials that you will need for this project. The first thing that you'll need is a piece of Watercolor paper. You will need some Watercolor paints and a paintbrush. I'm going to use a paint brush that's this size, but just use whatever size paint brush you have available to you. You will need a bowl or a cup with clean water and either a black oil pastel or a black crayon and a paper towel. So go ahead and gather all of those supplies and materials, and I'll see you back here in the next video. 2. Step 1: Draw a Bunny & Hearts Design: I in this step, we are going to draw our bunny design. So let's get started. The first thing that you're going to want to do is pick up your black oil pastel or your black crayon, and you're going to find the middle of your piece of paper. This is where our heart is going to go down here at the bottom, and it's not going to go past this middle part of our piece of paper. Okay? So we're going to make a big heart down here closer to the bottom. So I'm going to start about right here and I'm going to go up and then come down to a point and do the same thing on the other side, up and then down to a point, and there is our heart. Now, up here, I'm going to make my bunny. I'm going to go up a little bit, maybe about right here, you decide where you think that your bunny's head should go. We're going to make a curve line. And then we're going to make some ears up here going from these curved line ends to the top of our piece of paper. So curve line, curve line. And then we're going to come down with a curve line and a curve line. Remember, bunnies, a lot of them have really long ears. Now we're going to make curved lines under the ear line and then going straight to the heart. Okay. Now we're going to come back into the face and make some details in his face. So I'm going to make his nose first, so straight line. And then we're going to make a V. And then my bunny is going to have those really smiley eyes that are almost closed. So they're going to be like this curve line, curve line. Like he's doing a little smile, and then a little tiny smile. So a backwards J and a forwards J. And then I'm going to make some whiskers coming out of the side of his face. And then the last thing that I'm going to do is add a little bit of detail inside each ear. And those are going to be a couple of curve lines. Now I'm going to make some hands that are going to be holding onto this heart, so some curve lines. With some small lines inside, those are going to be his little paws. And then coming out of the bottom, I'm going to make some curve lines, and these are going to be his feet. And I'll put some straight lines there, as well, so those are going to be his toes. Now, to fill in the space around our bunny, let's add a few more smaller hearts. So find some spots where you can play some hearts and go ahead and create some more hearts around your bunny. If you see any other spaces that you feel like you need to fill up with some more hearts, go ahead and do that now. And then when we come back, we will start painting our design. 3. Step 2: Paint the Design: In this step, we are going to be painting our design. So let's get started. The first thing that we're going to do is we are going to drop one or two drops of water inside each pan of paint. And what that will do is it will soften up the paint a little bit, so it's easier for us to use. So I always take a minute to do that. It doesn't take that long, and it really helps out. Now that we've done that, let's turn our attention to our drawing. And remember this is oil pastel drawing, so we don't want to brush it with our hands. Otherwise, the oil pastel will smear. If you are using a crayon, that will not be a problem. Okay, so I am going to choose to paint my bunny a really light brown and maybe some pink for the details. Maybe I'll even give him some pink cheeks. I'm not sure yet. Then I'm going to use the Valentine colors for my hearts, maybe pinks, red, purples, something like that. So I'm going to just make the decisions as I go. So what I'd like you to do is think about the colors that you would like to use on your bunny and on the hearts and on the background. Do not need to be realistic colors. In other words, if you want your bunny to be, let's say, purple, go ahead and choose purple for your bunny. This is your artwork so you get to do what you like to do. So I'm going to start with my brown, and I'm going to create a light brown for my bunny because I want him to be a light brown, not too dark. So I'm going to prepare some brown paint, and then I'm just going to start painting. I'm going to use more water than paint because I want my brown to be pretty light. Remember, if you add more water, then your paint will be lighter. If you add more paint, then your color will be darker. So I'm going to go ahead and paint my bunny. I'll speed up the video, and I'll see you back here in just a minute. So now I'm finished painting my bunny, and I'm going to move on to my hearts. And I think I'm going to use a pink for my hearts and at least some of them. So I'm going to go ahead and paint my hearts. Alright, friends, I'm finished painting my hearts, and as you can see, I chose to paint my nose in the inside of my ears pink, as well. When we come back, we will start painting our background. 4. Step 3: Paint the Background: In this step, we are going to paint our background. So let's get started. You can choose whatever color you'd like to paint your background. I am going to paint my background green. So I'm going to get started on that. And I'm going to take my time because I want to do my very best work. And I'll speed up the video so you can watch me. And then you can get started on your own painting. Alrighty friends, I've finished painting my project. I think it turned out really great. I'm very, very happy with it. I hope that you had fun with this project. I will see you next time.
