1. 1. Introduction: Hello, everyone. This is Nagumina, your crochet tutor. Today we are going to see a multipurpose crochet bag. Perfect for every occasion. It has a nice and sturdy handles. Now, let's get started and see how to crochet this beautiful multipurpose crochet bag. 2. 2. Crochet Supplies Required : Let's take a look at the crochet supplies that are required for our crochet bag. I'm using a red hot super saver yarn, and this is my color a today I'll be using the shade. Tea leaf. This will be my color A and for my color B, I'm using the same red hot super saver yarn, and I'll be using the shared lemon. For this project, I will be using a five millimeter hook. Based on the thickness of your yarn, either increase or decrease the hook size. A few stitch markers. Tapestry needle, a pair of scissors. Grab your crochet supplies. Let's get started. 3. 3. Making the Base for the Bag: First let's see how to make the base for our crochet bag. We'll be making a foundation chain. First, we'll start off by making a slip naught. My slip naught is ready. Now we are going to make foundation chains. We'll be making a total of 28 chains a We have made our 28 chains. For our round number one, I'm making an extra one chain. After making this one chain into the second stitch over here, I'm going to work one single crochet. After working the single crochet, we are going to use a stitch marker and I'm going to mark this first stitch over here. Now into each of the stitches over here, we are going to work one single crochet. W one single crochets all the way around. I'll meet you when I have one chain left. I have worked one single crochets in all the stitches and here I have one more chain that is my last chain left over here. In this, I'm going to work up three single crochets After working my first single crochet, I'm using another stitch marker and I'm marking it. We have worked our first single crochet here, two more single crochets in the same space, second and third. After working your third single crochet, mark the third one also. We have marked it. Now, turn your work. We are going to work on the other side of our chain. We worked in this last stitch. Now we are going to work here. I'm going to hide this extra yarn over here and I'm going to stitch it. Like we previously worked in each of the stitches, we worked one set of single crochets in the same way we are going to work one set of single crochets into each of the stitches over here. So work one single crochet all the way around. I'll meet you at the end here. We have made single crochets all the way on the other side also. We have reached the end. This is our beginning chain where we made one single crochet. Into this space, I'm going to make two more single crochets. After we make our second single crochet, I'm going to mark this first one. Now, I'm going to make a slip stitch into my first single crochet over here. We have finished our round number one, moving on to round number two, make a chain one and into this single crochet, we'll be working three sets of single crochet. One, two, into my second stitch, I'm marking my stitch marker. Second stitch I have marked and I'm working one more single crochet here. Here we have made three sets of single crochet. Now into the next stitches, I'm going to work one single crochet each. Work one single crochet all the way around. I'll meet you when I reach the marker over here. I have worked my set of single crochets. Now I have reached the marker point over here, remove the marker and into this marker space, we'll be working three sets of single crochets. When we are working three single crochets into my second single crochet, I will use a stitch marker and again mark the stitch over there. I have marked my second stitch. Now I'm going to work one more stitch over there. Done. Now we have one stitch in the middle over here, there I'm going to work one single crochet. The similar way we have come to the other side. Here we have our stitch marker. Remove the stitch marker and here, we'll be working three sets of single crochets and in the second stitch, mark This is my second stitch. Once again, I'm marking it. We marked our second stitch, now into the same stitch work, another single crochet. We have worked our three single crochets. Now into each and every next stitch, I'll be working one set of single crochet each until we reach the marker. Work it. I'll meet you when I reach the marker. Now we are at the marker point. Now remove the marker over here and we are going to work three sets of single crochets. In your second stitch, mark it using a marker. Now, my third stitch. After making it, we have one leftover stitch here into that stitch, we'll work one single crochet. After working it, we are going to make a slip stitch into our first stitch over here. The second stitch only we have used our marker and marked it, our round number two is over. We'll move on to our round number three. So for our round number three, make a chain one, this will not be considered and into the stitch, work one single crochet. Now in this marker stitch, we'll be working three single crochets like we did with our previous round, we'll mark the second stitch. I have made two single crochet. Now in my second stitch, I'm marking it now work one more single crochet in the same space. Now we have come here, here into each and every stitch, we'll be working one single crochet each Work one single crochet each into all the stitches until you reach this marker. Once you reach this marker, I'll show you how to make this portion. I have worked all the way around. Now we have reached the marker here, remove the marker and into the stitch, we'll be working three single crochets and mark the second one, one and two. And into the same stitch work another single crochet. After working this, here we have one, two, and three set of stitches. Each and every stitch, work one single crochet each, and into the next stitch and into the third stitch. We have worked one single crochet over there and now we have come to our next marker here. Remove the marker, work three sets of single crochets and mark the second one. I have worked two and I'm going to mark my second one over here. And work my third one. After this, we'll be working one single crochet each in all of these stitches until we reach this marker point. Follow the same pattern, I'll meet you when I reach here. We have come to our marker over here, remove the marker. In this marker space, we'll be working three single crochets and in the same way mark your second single crochet. Now we have here two more stitches remaining and into those two stitches, we'll be working one single crochet each. After this into our first stitch over here, work a slip stitch. Our round number three is done. Now moving on to round number four. Make a chain and work one single crochet into the next two stitches. Until we reach the marker, that is two stitches. I have worked my two single crochets and now in the place where a marker is there. As usual, we'll be working three single crochets and I'll be marking my second single crochet. This is my second single crochet. Into the same stitch work my third single crochet now into the next stretches, work one single crochet until you reach this stitch marker over here, work one single crochet each. Now we have reached our marker. Here we'll be working three sets of single crochets as usual and in our second single crochet, I'll be using my stitch marker and I'll be marking it. We work three sets of single crochets. Now one, two, three, four, and five stitches are here. W one single crochet each. We have reached the stitch marker over here, remove this and work three single crochets and mark your second stitch one and two. Now mark your second single crochet. Into the stitch, work your third one and now work one single crochet all the way until you reach the marker over here. Now I have reached the marker over here, remove the marker and work three single crochets and mark your second one now here we are having one, two, three stitches remaining. At the beginning, we made one half of this end. Now we are making the second half of this end now here into my first stitch over here, I'm making my slip stitch. We have finished our round number four, we have made an increase in the size and our base has started to form perfectly. For our round number five, start by making a chain one and into the same stitch verb one single crochet and into your next stitch. We have three stitches over here and into the three stitches I have worked, one single crochet each, and now we have reached the stitch marker over here in this stitch marker, work three single crochets we worked our three single crochets over here and now work one single crochet all over here and in the stitch marker work three single crochets again here, work one single crochet. When you reach your stitch marker, again, work your three single crochets. Follow the same pattern and make this round. I'll meet you when I reach the end of this round number five. Now I have reached the end of my round number five. Finally, into this first stitch over here, make your slip stitch. We are done with our base for our bag. At the end of your round number five, you'll be having a total of 90 set of single crochets and the chain one won't be counted. You'll be having a total of 90 single crochets. Now let's see the measurement for our base. So is 23 centimeters length and a width of about 6.5 centimeters. 4. 4. Making the Sides for the Bag: So we are done with our base. Now we are going to move on and make the body for our bag. Until now, if you see in each and every stitch, we made an increase in all the four points over here, we marked it using a stitch marker. From round number six, we won't be making any increase. Since you're not making any increase, automatically, your Work will start to rise up in this manna upwards. From round number six, we'll be working one single crochet into each and every stitch. I started off by making a chain and I have worked a single crochet. Now again, I'm working a single crochet. Work one single crochet into each and every stitch, you'll be having a total of 90 stitches. Now itself, it has started to curl a little bit over here. It has started to curl your bag will take your shape, it will start to lengthen up like this. From round number six to 12, you'll be following the same pattern of working one set of single crochet into each and every stitch. Work one single crochet all the way around and you'll be making a slip stitch into your first single crochet over here. So work all the way round up to your round number 12. I'll meet you after round number 12. Follow the same pattern of making one single crochets for your rounds six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11 and 12. I'll meet you when I have done my round number 12. I'm at the end of my round number 12. This is round number six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11 and 12. Since we did not make any increase, we'll be having a total of 90 stitches. Now for round number 13, I'm going to join my color A. I have cut this yarn off. I did not finish it yet. I have taken my color B. This is the lemon shade. This is my first stitch over here. Here we are going to make a slip stitch. While making a slip stitch, what I'm going to do is I'm going to insert this yarn over here. We are done. Now let's tie the extra yarn over here together. You can either tie it or you can hide it. Moving on to our round number 13, as you can see, the bag has taken the shape from this portion, from our round number six to round number 12, it is a closed pattern. Here we get a closed pattern, which is fully made of our single crochet. From here onwards, we'll be using our double crochet. I'm going to start off by making chain three This will be my first double crochet and into the same stitch, I'll be working two more double crochet. We have made three double crochets in this stitch. Now we are going to skip two stitches and into the next stitch, I'll be working three set of double crochet. I have made three sets of double crochet again skip the next two stitches and into the third stitch, work three sets of double crochet. One, two stitches, kip and work three sets of double crochet. Work in this pattern, I'll meet you at the end here. Now I'm at the end of my round number 13. Here we have two more stitches. I'm going to skip those two stitches. What I'm going to do is I'm going to making a slip stitch into my first double crochet here. We made a chain three and two double crochets. I'm going to make a slip stitch in my first double crochet over here. Done. Now, make a slip stitch into the next stitch over here. From this space, we are going to start our round number 14. In this space, I'm going to work a single crochet followed by a chain two and this will be considered as my first double crochet and two more double crochets into the space. Done. Now, skip these double crochets. Now in this space, work up three sets of double crochet. Now again in this space. Again, in this space, three sets of double crochet. Repeat the same pattern all the way around. I'll meet you when I reach here. Now I'm at the end of my round number 14. Now, like we did with our previous round, we are going to finish it by making a slip stitch in this first double crochet. We made it over here. After that, another double crochet, sorry, make another slip stitch into this double crochet for round number 15, like we did with our previous round, make a single crochet, chain two and two more double crochets into this spacer. So the single crochet chain which we made at the beginning will be counted as our first double crochet. Now from round number 15 to round number 25, we'll be repeating this same pattern. Now we are making our round number 15, work until you reach round number 25, work in the same manner by making three sets of double crochets into this space between space between these two double crochets. Into each and every space over here, work three sets of double crochets and when you are finishing it up, you have to make a slip stitch into your first double crochet over here. We will be skipping the single crochet and chain and we'll be making a slip stitch in this center stitcher. This set of three double crochets which we are making, we'll be having a total of 30 sets up. So at the end of our Round number 12, you'll be having a total of 90 single crochets. Here, the set of three double crochets, you'll be having a total of 30 sets up. Work all the way around up to round number 25. I'll meet you once I finish my round number 25. I have made till my row number 25, the bag is looking nice and stiff. Now let's move on and see how to make our round number 26. 5. 5. Making the Pattern for the Bag: So I have finished off my round number 25 by making a slip stitch into the first double crochet over here. Now, like we do for our usual rounds, I'm making a slip stitch into my next stitch and into this space, we'll make a single crochet followed by a chain to and now I'll make two sets of double crochets in it. I have made my first set of double crochet and this is my second set of double crochet. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to change to my color A. This one, I'm not going to cut it off. This one, like my color B, I'm not going to cut it off, we are going to use it. What I'm going to do is take your color A and wrap it around your finger. We are done on both sides. I have joined my color. Into this space, I'm going to use my color A. We are going to yarn over and go through. While we are doing this, what we are going to do is this color B, we are going to weave it up by hiding the ends over here. Now into this space, we'll work three sets of double crochet. This is my first second and third. After making my Third, I haven't finished my third double crochet now. We are going to use our color B, so I have joined it. Now, we'll hide this one. That is our first color. You know this part, hide this and now alternatively I'll be working three sets of double crochet with my color A and again, three sets of double crochet with my color B. Now again, I'm using my color and work three sets of double crochet. Now again, hide this one and start by working with your color A. These three sets of double crochets with your color A and color B. I'll meet you at the end over here. I'm at the end of my round number 26. My color B, I have weaved it off. Now I'm using only my color A. We are here at the beginning. What I'm going to do is into my second and double crochet I'm working a slip stitch and again into the third double crochet and now into the space between these two stitches, I'm going to work a single crochet for our round number 27, single crochet chain two. Now I'll be using only my color A and into each and every space, we'll be working three sets of double crochet. After working a single crochet and two chain, I'm working two crochets into the same space. Now into the next space here, we'll be working again two sets of sorry, three sets of double crochet. Now again, here in this space, work three sets of double crochet. For round number 27, we'll be working with our color A and we'll be working three sets of double crochets into each and every space. Follow the same pattern, I'll meet you at the end here. Now we are at the end of our round number 27. I'm going to make a slip stitch in my first double crochet over here. Again, another slip stitch over here. So I'll be working three sets of double crochet in my color A, then again, a three set of double crochets in my color B. Now into this space, work a single crochet, chain two and two more double crochets in this space. We made our first set of three double crochets. After this, again, I'm going to join in my color B now into this space, we'll be working three sets of Dub Groche with my color B. What we did with our round number 26, we are going to follow the same pattern here. Three sets of double crochet with my color A, and again, three sets of double crochet with my color B. Follow the same pattern, I'll meet you when I reach here. A I'll meet you when I reach the end of our round number 28. Now I have reached the end of my round number 28. Make a slip stitch into your first double crochet. I have weaved off my color A. As you can see, we get a small flowery pattern over here. Now you see for round number 29 and round number 30, we are going to repeat only color B. Now make a slip stitch into your second double crochet. And now into the space over here, work a single crochet, chain two and two more double crochets into the same space. How we did with our previous rows till our row number 25, we are going to follow the same pattern of making three sets of double crochets into the space. Repeat it for round number 29 and round number 30, I'll meet you once I complete my round number 30. I have made my last two rows. So now we are going to finish it. After making your last set of three double crochets we'll cut off the yarn. Now we'll finish this off. Now we are done with our bag. Now let's see the measurements for the bag. It is 30 centimeters in width. With the height and with the height, it is 28 centimeters. Our bag is done. Now let's move on and see how to make the handle straps for the bag. 6. 6. Making the Handle Straps: I have taken my color B, leave a little bit a long tail and make a slip out our slip kt is ready. Now make chain three, one, two, and three. A chain three is ready. Now, skip the first chain and into your next chain, yarn over and pull through and into your first chain, yarn over and pull through. Now you are having three loops in your hook. Now, remove it from the two loops. Hold them tightly so that you don't leave them off. M one chain in the first loop. And now into the second one, make one chain and into the last one, make one chain. Always, you'll be having three loops in your hook. Now again, remove the hook from the first two stitches, hold it firmly and now make a chain into each of the loops until you have three loops in your hook. Now again, remove it. Hold those two loops tightly. You'll get a handle in this way. Follow the same pattern of making one chain into each of the loops and keep in mind that you should have three loops on your hook always. Follow the same pattern and make this strap handle. Follow the same pattern of making the strap handle until you have a length of about 39 centimeters. I have made my strap. Now let's measure this and see. It's 39 centimeters. Now we'll finish this off. As usual, I'm having three loops in my hook, yarn over, pull through all the three. Now it's done. Now again, leave a long tail. And cut your yarn off. Make a chain one tighten it. Strap is ready. We need two sets of straps. Make another strap of the length of about 39 centimeters. I have made another set of strap of the same length. I have two sets of straps. Now let's attach this to our bag. 7. 7. Attaching the Straps: In your bag, mark 5 centimeters from this end and similarly, 5 centimeters from the other end. 5 centimeters it is here. I'm marking my stitch over there. My five centimeter here I have marked. Similarly, from this end, your five centimeter is here in the same way, mark it on the other side also. I have marked it. I have marked it here and similarly on the other side also, we have marked it. Now let's attach our handle. Y. We have fixed the handle strap on this side. Now on the other side, we'll fix it in the same manner. H We have fixed our handle on this side. In a similar manner, we'll fix the handle on the other side also. Now we have attached our straps. We have attached our handle strap and it is looking very nice. 8. 8. Class Project: For our class project, you can try the same bag with different colors. Instead of this pattern, you can do the same thing, you can repeat the same rounds. Instead of making this pattern, you can make a few set of rounds with your color A and few set of rounds with your color B for border, you can use your color A and for the handle followed by the same color, or you can try a different handle like the one which I have already uploaded in R. Class. In case of any questions or queries related to this crochet bag, please be free to ask. I'll revert to you as soon as possible. I'll meet you in another new tutorial until then by Happy crocheting.
