1. 1.Intoduction : Hello, everyone. This is Nagumina your crochet tutor. Today we'll be seeing how to make this crochet bag. A very simple and easy bag. If you know the basics of crochet, then it's very easy. This is a multi purpose bag. You can even use to buy groceries, fruits, vegetables. You can even use this bag as a picnic bag. You can carry your books, your water bottles, and also a snack for your picnic seats looking nice and sturdy. 2. 2.Crochet Supplies Required: Let's take a look at the crochet supplies that are required for this project. I'm using a red heart super sava yarn. The color shade is turquoi and this is my color A, and this one is my red heart supersava jumbo yarn. This one I'm using the shared Aaron I'm using about 45 grams of this my color A, red heart supersavayar, I'm using about 84 grams of the yarn, few stitch markers. A tapestry needle, I'm using a five millimeter hook and a pair of scissors. Now grab your crochet supplies. Let's start our project. 3. 3.Making the Base of the Bag: Now let's get started and see how to make the base for this project. Since we are going to make a circle mat, we are going to start in rounds, I'm going to make a magic ring. Use your forefinger and your middle finger, wrap the yarn around your finger and make a shape of an X. Now as you can see, we got X shaped here. Now with your hook facing downwards, insert your hook into the first loop, and now pull the second loop and twist the yarn like this. Fine. Once you have done, now hold the second loop here and make a slip stitch. Our magic ring is ready. Now let's get started. I'm going to work in double crochet. I'm going to start off with chain three, one, two, and three. This will be considered as our first double crochet. We'll be working 11 more double crochets into this magical ring. I have worked two sets of double crochets. Along with chain three, we have totally three double crochets. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11, and the first set of three chains, we have made 12 sets of double crochets. After making 12 sets of double crochets, we'll pull this to make the we'll pull the loop to close the magical ring, pull it nice and tight. Now our first round is ready. While finishing this, what we are going to do is we have made chain three at the beginning of this round the top of the third chain we made three chains at the beginning. One, two, and in the third chain, I'm making a slip stitch. Fine. Our round number one is ready. Our circle should be nice and flat. If the number of stitches go wrong, then the circle might curl up and we won't get a perfect circle. For a perfect circle, each and every one, there should be an increase in the number of stitches. What we're going to do now is in round number two, we are going to increase the number of stitches. We are going to work two sets of double crochets in each of the previous stitch. For starting, I'm making chain three. This will be our first set of double crochet and into the same space, I'm working another double crochet. We have worked two sets of double crochets over here and into our next stitch, I'm working two sets of double crochet. In each and every stitch, we'll be working two sets of double crochets. Now if you check and see, we'll be having 24 sets of stitches. Along with this chain three, we'll be having 24 sets of stitches. While finishing like the previous round, we'll be working a slip stitch at the top of the chain three. Next round also there should be an grement. For the next round, what we'll be doing is we'll be working two double crochets in one stitch and one double crochet in the other stitch. There'll be alternate two double crochets in each of the stitches. I'll start off with chain three. In the same stitch, I'll be working another double crochet. Now I have worked two here and into the next stitch, I'll be working one double crochet. Now in the third stitch, two double crochets. The pattern for round number three will be two, one, two, one. See we have worked two double crochets and in the next one, one. Now again, here we'll be working two double crochets. Along with the chain three, which we made at the beginning, we should have a total of 36 stitches. At the end of round number three, you'll be having a total of 36 stitches. We are going to finish it off at the top of the chain three. Based on the size of your bag, you can either increase or decrease the base circle which we are making now. For round number four, we'll be working two sets of double crochets into one stitch followed by one double crochet in the next two stitches, two, one, one, the pattern will be like that. Start with chain three. Into the same stitch, another double crochet. Here we have worked two stitches and into the next one, I'll be working one double crochet into the third stitch, another one double crochet. Two, one, one. Now again, two, the same stitch. Followed by 11 stitch in the next two stitches, one double crochet into the next two stitches. See, we have started off by making two sets of double crochets in the first stitch, followed by one double crochet in the next two stitches. In the fourth stitch, I have made again two sets of double crochet followed by two more single double crochets in each of the stitches. Now again, I'll be making two sets of double crochets. 21, one will be the pattern for this round number four. Follow this 211 pattern to this entire round. As you can see, I have reached the end of round number four. At the end of round number four, you'll be having a total of 48 stitches, including this chain three, which we made at the beginning. Now let's finish this round. Like we did with our previous round, a slip stitch at the top of our third chain. C circle is looking nice and flat and there is no curling or anything. Since we increase the number of stitches in each of the round, we won't have any curls in our circle. Based on the size of the bag which you are going to make, you can increase or decrease the number of rounds for this base circle. Now I'm moving on to round number five. I'm starting with chain three. Followed by a double crochet in the same space. In the previous round, we worked two sets of single double crochet, two sets of 11 double crochets. In this round, we'll be working 311 double crochets. Here I'm going with the first one two, and three. I have done three double crochets. The first one, we have two sets of double crochet. Now moving on to the next sage I'll be working two. The pattern which we are going to follow for this round is two and three times 11 double Groch will be working. One, two, and three. Follow the same pattern here, working two double crochets and one, two, three stitches, work 11 double crochet. Follow the same pattern. I'll meet you at the end. See, I have reached the end of round number five. On Round number five, we'll have a total of 60 stitches, including this chain three. We'll finish it up by making a slip stitch in the top of a third chain. So far, I have made five rounds. We are going to make two more rounds. We still have two rounds to go. Now moving on to round number six. I'll make chain three. This will be my first double crochet and in the same space, I'm making another double crochet. Now, into the next four stitches, I'll be making one, one double crochet. Here we have done two and now from here on, I'm making one, two, three and four. I have made four sets of 11 double crochet. Now into the next phase, I'll be working two sets of double crochet. Into the next four stitches, one double crochet will be working. This will be our pattern for round number six, we'll make two sets of double crochet followed by one, two, three, four, four sets of one, one double crochet. Work the pattern. I'll meet you at the end here. I have reached the end of round number six and along with this three sets of chains, we'll be having a total of 72 stitches. I'll make a slip stitch at the end at the top of my third chain. Done. One more row to go, then we are done with our base chain three and into the same stitch, work a double crochet. We have made our increase and into the next five stitches, we'll be working 11 double crochet. One two, three, four, and five. After working 11 double crochet into the next five stitches, my next stitch will be an increase of two sets of double crochet, one and two. Again, into the next five stitches, I'll be working 11 double crochet. Two, three, four, and at last five. Into my next stitch, I'll be working two sets of double crochet. For this round number seven, our pattern will be two double crochets followed by one double crochets into the next five stitches. Work the same pattern for this entire round, I'll meet you at the end. I have reached the end of round number seven. Round number seven, we'll be having a total of 84 set of stitches along with a chain three. I'm going to finish it off by making a slip stitch at this third chain over here. We have finished the base for our bag, our base is ready. As previously I told you, you can either increase or decrease the number of rounds based on the size of the bag you're going to make. My base is approximately 20 centimeters. It is the diameter of this bases, 20 centimeters, now let's fast of this yarn over here. Join it with your tapestry needle and we'll fasten off this yarn over here. Let's cut this yarn over here. 4. 4.Making the body of the Bag: Now let's see how to make the body for our back. I am continuing with the same color. In case if you want to change it to your second color, the color, then you can do so. For the body part for the first round, I'm going to make a chain three. This will count as my first double crochet. Into the same space, we are going to work cluster stitches. Yarn over and go into the same space. As you can see, we are having one, two, and three loops in our hook. We're going to work the first half of our double crochet, yarn over and pull through the first two, and I'm having one, two loops remaining in my hook, yarn over and go through the same space. And work. See, we have one, two, three, four loops. Now, we are going to work in the first two loops. Yo, pull through the first two loops. As you see, one, two, we have three sets of double crochets over here. Yarn over, pull through all the three loops. Our first cluster stitch is ready now a chain one. Now what you're going to do skip the next stitch and into the third one, I'm going to work a cluster stitch. I have one, two, three loops in my hook, work the first half of the double crochet. I have two loops remaining and yarn over, go through the same space and pull through. W the first half of the second double crochet. You have three loops remaining and yarn over, and go through the same loop and work the first half of the third double crochet. Now we have one, two, three, four loops in our hook. Ya pull through all the four loops and a chain one. So our cluster stitches done. So next, I'm going to skip my next stitch here and into the next stitch, I'm going to work a cluster stitch in the same way. This is my first double crochet. I'm working the first half. I have two loops remaining and go to the same space and I'm working my second half double crochet. Work the first half of your second double crochet. You have three loops, and now I'm working my third double crochet. First half of your third double crochet, you have four loops in the Hook. Yo pull through all the four and secure it with a chain one. This is our cluster stitch. This is the pattern that we'll be following for this entire round for our body. Skip a stitch and into the next one. A very simple pattern. So continue the same pattern for this entire round. We have the last three stitches over here. I'm going to skip this one and in this last stitch, we'll be working one cluster. And a chain one. I have reached the end of my round one for the body of our bag. I have made my chain one. What I'm going to do is into this first cluster, the top of the cluster, I'm going to make a slip stitch here. Here I'm going to make my slip stitch, so it's done. In this particular round, if you see, you'll be having a total of 42 sets of clusters you'll be having. For the next round, what we are going to do is we are going to work from this space. I'm going to make a slip stitch into this space. Fine. As you can see, it has slowly curled up. Since we have reduced the number of stitches, it will curl, no need to worry regarding this. Now moving on to round number two, chain three, and into this space, we'll make a double crochet first half of the double crochet and another one. Second half of the double crochet, you have three looms yarn over, pull through three and a chain one, a cluster is ready. Now find the next chain one space. Here we have it into that chain one space, I'm going to bog a cluster. Work the first half of our double crochet. Then the second double crochet, work the first half. Three loops are remaining, and now we are going to work the last double crochet, work the first half and now I'm having four loops yarn over, pull through all the four loops and a chain one. So the same one like we repeated with the previous round, we are going to repeat in this particular round. The only difference is here we'll be working in this chain space. Previous round we worked in these stitches. Here we'll be working in the chain one space. Now into the next chain one space, a cluster stitch. By now, you would have been familiar with this cluster stitch. By now, you would have been familiar with this cluster stitch. The cluster stitch will give you a attractive look to your bag. Into the next phase, continue the same work by working in each and every chain one space. I'll meet you when you reach the end of this round number two. So as you can see, now I have reached the end of round number two for our body. Like in our previous round in this round also we'll be having 42 sets of cluster stitches. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to make a slip stitch at the top of our first cluster. Now it's done. Like our previous round, I'm going to work a slip stitch into this chain one space so that I can work from here. Now I'm going to work my round number three from here. Then you're going to repeat only this round number two. You can repeat it any number of times until you reach your desired height and in between, I'm going to change to my color B. Now you can follow the same pattern of making cluster stitches like a previous round. Make a chain three and we are going to work a cluster in this space. We have made and I made a chain one. Now I'm going to work in the second space. Here I'm going to make one, second of the double crochet, second double crochet half, and the third one half our cluster stitches are ready. Follow the same pattern. I'll meet you at this end of the row. After this row, I'm going to change to my color B. Follow the same cluster stitches and I'll meet you when we reach the end of this round after this round, I'm going to change to my next color. I'll see you there. 5. 5.Weaving the extra strands: As you can see, we have finished making the body for our bag, it's looking nice and sturdy. See here. It's nice and sturdy from both sides. I have made, again, three rows with my color A, and I have made here seven rows with my color B starting, we made three rows our color A. Our bag is looking nice and sturdy and it's nice and stiff and our cluster has come out very beautiful. So now I'll show you how to weave off all those ends inside. This is the body for our bag is ready. Now we'll be seeing how to make the border for the bag and how to make the strap. Now first, let's weave off all those ends which are inside. I have turned the bag inside out. These two ends, this is the place where we finished our color B and I join my color A. These two are together. What I'm doing is just I'm tying a knot over here. Even if you like, you can hide the working thread behind your stitch like we did with our previous one. We can cut off the extra thread over here. Here we have another thread. This is the place where B finished with our color A and we joined color B. Color B, I have hid it behind the stitches over there. Now let's weave this thread off, join it with a tapestry needle first. Now let's weave this off. So done. Now this end also will cut it off. Now our bag is ready, see. The bottom is also looking nice and stiff. Now let's see how to make the strap and border for this bag. 6. 6. Making the border and Handle for bag: So for making the border and the strap of our bag, I'm using my same color A. If you need, you can even change the color. What I'm doing is first, I'll make a chain one, this chain one won't count and into this top of the cluster, I'm working one half double crochet. The loop over the hoop, yarn pull through. All the three half double crochet is ready. Now we'll be working one double crochet in each of the stitches and each of the space. Now into this space, I'll work another half double crochet. Now in the top of the cluster, we'll work another half double crochet into the space. We'll follow the same thing for this entire round. I'll be making one half double crochet in each of the stitch. Now in the cluster stitch now into the space, Again, in the cluster into the space. So I have made my half double crochet. Follow the same pattern for this entire round and I'll meet you when I reach the end of this round. Here in this round for our border, you'll be having a total of 84 half double crochets. This chain one, we won't consider it as a stretch. Now what I'm going to do is I have reached the end. Now I'm going to make a slip stitch at the top of our first half double crochet which we made up. Here is our first half double crochet. Here I'm making a slip stitch. Slip stitch is done. This is the pattern for our border, we'll be making one half double crochet in each of the stitches and you can make as many number of rows as required for you. Again, I'm making chain one. This won't be considered and into the same space, I'm making one half double crochet. Now into the next phase, one half double crochet. Follow the same pattern. Any number of rows for this border. Follow the same pattern. I'll show you once I have. Finish this border for the bag. I have made my second row of half double crochet for the border. Now we are going to make the handle for the bag. Now let's see how to measure for the handle. The width of this bag is approximately 28 centimeters. In this 28 centimeters, if you see, this 14 is the center point and from here, if we see here, this point is our center point. I'm using my stitch marker and I'm marking it here. So I have marked my stitch marker over there. At the seventh point, I have marked it and similarly here, if you see, this point will be our second one. I'm marking my stitch marker here. Similarly, here we'll do the same here seven, and again, 21 here. Now let's see how to make the strap for our bag. We have marked it. We'll see. After we place our stitch markers, we are going to start our round. What we are going to do is we are going to follow the previous rounds pattern. We are going to make the same half double crochet. What I'm doing is first, I'll make a chain one. This one be considered as a stitch and into the same space, I'm working a half double crochet and into the next stitch, another half double crochet. Work half double crochet until we reach this marker. And here we have reached our marker, so I'm removing this marker here. In this stitch, I'm working one half double crochet. What I'm going to do is until the next marker here, I'm having 19 stitches over here. I'm going to skip this 19 stitches and I'm going to make chain for our handle. You can make as many number of chains as required for your handle. Let's make it I have made 27 change here. Now, what I'm going to do is here we have our next stitch marker, remove the stitch marker. I'm making a half double crochet. Half double crochet, our foundation strap is ready. Here the same way I'm going to do. I'm going to work half double crochets until I reach my next stitch marker. Work half double crochets in each stitch. As you can see, now we have reached our third stitch marker. I'm removing the stitch marker here. Here I'm working another half double crochet, like we did on the previous side, here, I'm going to make 27 sets of chains. I have made my 27 chains. Now what we are going to do here is we'll remove the stitch marker here and here, we'll be making our half double crochet. On both sides as straps are ready. As straps are ready on both sides. Now what we are going to do is here, the remaining stitch we are going to work one, one, half double crochets. So I have made all my half double crochets. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to make a slip stitch in the top of our first half double crochet, read it here. As you can see, our border is looking nice and fine. Now we'll be making the strap. For strap also we'll be following our same pattern like we did for our border. Start off by making a chain one into the same space, work a half double crochet. We'll be working one half double crochet till here. E. I have made my half double crochet until here. Now we have reached our strap. Here we made 27 sets of chains. Now into each of this chain, we'll be working one half double crochet. Into each chain, we'll work a half double crochet. I have made my 27 sets of half double crochet. As usual, here we'll be working one half double crochet in each of the stitches. I'll show you when I come to this strap over there on the other side of the bag. Now I have reached the other side of my back. I'm going to work this handle like we did with our previous handle, we'll be working in this chain. Now we have made our handle. Here in the remaining stitches, we'll be making one, one, half double crochet, like we did with our previous side. I have finished. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to work a slip stitch in the first half double crochet over here. Now, as you can see the strap is also ready and it's looking nice on both sides. Now we'll be working another one more round. We'll follow the same pattern. We'll be working one half double crochet in each of the stitches. As usual here, we'll start off by making a chain one and into the same space, work a half double crochet. And I have worked here. Now, if you see we have reached a strap. In the strap also we'll be working one, one, half double crochet. All over this round, wherever we have a half double crochet, we'll be working a half double crochet. Follow the same pattern. I'll catch you at the end of this round. As you can see, I have finished my bag and I have made the last round for this. Now our handles straps are looking nice and sturdy. This looking nice and thick. Now I have finished it over here by making a slip stitch at the top of my first half double crochet. Now let's see how to finish this. Make a slip stitch like this. Now we weave this off. Let me cut this off. Sonova bag is ready. A simple and Easy crochet bag. We have made it. 7. 7. Class Project: Now for the class project, you can make the same bag with different colors and also of different size, so you can change the size of the bag by increasing or reducing the number of rounds we made for the base of the bag.
