1. Introduction: Today, the content in
PowerPoint Serbs way more purposes than just presenting
and showing something. In this course, you
will complete a project step-by-step
with my guidance. Throughout this process,
you will develop practical skills that
you can use for work, business studies,
any project that requires visual
illustration digitally. My name is better on collision. I'm an e-learning designer. I designed digital
learning experiences that users can enjoy during
the learning process. I use PowerPoints
on a daily basis, is one of my many
tools for work. And I like to share my
knowledge insights about it. Throughout this
project, you will develop new skills like how to handle and create modern
engaging content in PowerPoint. Also, how to work
efficiently fast in PowerPoint to save
valuable minutes and clicks. You will learn how to build up an interactive website
like content in PowerPoint with
clickable buttons from the start till the end. Check out my other class, modern zooming PowerPoint
presentations within minutes. If you want to have
a crash course about the creation process
of such content. In this class, you will
apply the same process. But in more details
with more examples. During this project, everything is connected
to everything starting from the background
through the simple layouts, the fine movements, animations. It has incomplete
storyline logic, which you will
understand and learn if you follow all
the steps I teach. I will see you in
the first lesson. Let's get started.
2. Preview of the project: Here's starts to presentation. It's aimed to catch
the attention with the nice one colored background, clearly referring to the
milestones development process. We will show you the journey
of this product lunch. We can talk about
four main phases. We came up with the idea, full byte at testing, implementation and finally
calculating the profit. Before this presentation
content works also like a website.
This is the homepage. The icons are menu icons. They will help us to navigate throughout the
whole presentation. Watch how the zooming
behaves a bit different. It always zoom stood
the respective location of the progress of the story. In fact, how we go
higher and higher. The dynamic nature
of this presentation is that you can start
wherever you want. If that makes sense, of course. Here it has a logical order, the beginning and the end. Interesting feature is that
you can choose to zoom into the topic and zoom out to
always keep the overview. But you can proceed directly after the end of
the chapters like this. You get the picture now
how the exact locations of these topics and the
Morph transition support the flow
of this content. Let's start with the idea. Here we start telling the story. There was an afterword
drink with the colleagues, the real meeting after such a long
disappointing struggle, it is always important
to make it emotional. Emotions stick naturally
in our memory. Here we explained the
peak point of a struggle and the turning point when
the team just had an idea, an idea that can turn
everything around and finally find the
solution success. Here's just one example how you can make the
content emotional. Like saying, most of us have
not seen our family before. 08:00 PM every single day. Huge sacrifice. Try to exaggerate,
make it extreme. Watch how we progress
inside a content. Still staying in
the same chapter, but new page, new contents. We continue with the story. What was exactly
the missing piece? The details are not important. The flow of the
story, what matters? There was an ingredient which
they did not consider yet. We made a complete turn as we replace the specific ingredient. Here it goes into more details. What is exactly the
material ingredient? Always keep it simple, no matter how much content
you have do to work and compress it into
three short, both points. Remember, the bullet points
cannot be content to read. Does to stamp professional. You speak and explain
the bullet points. The bullet point is a
simplified phrase, keyword, maximum one-sentence statement. Right-click next slide. After drinking evening, they had an online meeting
about their conversation. They set up the following steps. How they can realize
this new direction. And again, keep it short
and simple only the point. How do you sum up
the next steps? What is the conclusion
of the online meeting? Information? 123. This pipe icon is a reminder that this is
the end of the chapter. Now comes the next. The icon from the homepage
is always the home button, which brings us back
to the homepage. Let's see how the testing
phase ones, again, a short but straightforward
title that we found a real shortcut method to
automate the core solution. Diving into this more detailed, it only took two weeks to
reorganize the work processes. And that's how we ended
up with new material. You can include more details
following the layout rules. Keep the phone size and don't
write more text than this. What was exactly the solution? What is the material? Remember that we are presenting
a chemical products. So here's a microscope picture
showing the test process. When you mentioned
further details, do exactly as I've
showed you before. Now comes a very cool effect. You click Next and Luke, we switched topics
within the topic, written content goes to the left while the picture
goes to the right. And this is an intention of
focus shift saying like, hey, this is something
very important. So please pay close attention. Have a closer look
at the picture. How it zooms closer to the specific part on
the same picture, while it animates
to the right side. Here's a notification again that the slideshow of this
chapter is over. I click on the Home button to
zoom back to the overview. We continue our
journey as we make progress and go one level higher to the
implementation part. You explain how it changed the game and a short
summary of the results. There was a sign
again that we have to click through the
home button again. In this final chapter, we explain what were the
exact numbers of the result. Either a financial chart or a product specific
summary would do it. The approval of this product
launch and was granted. And this is the end of
this success story. A little joke for the end. The only one question
we had to answer, where do we party? The end? Here, you either zoom out or leave the
screen right here.
3. How to work with the project file?: This project is going to require more work and more manual steps. The first step is that
you have to get familiar with the PowerPoint
work file, download it. Once you open a file, you can see that I prepared
some slides for you. Colors. Just for demonstration, I insert a shape. The colors are the same. This is the main accent color. And all the rest
are combinations that harmonize well
with each other. It's important because you
will see how we base on these colors in the
next projects font. You see the original template. We have Roboto condensed
and Roboto regular. I'm only going to use
the robot to body. If you don't have Roboto
and your computer, you may use similar font. You can also just almost eat or simply Calibri font as well. The master slide view
is still the same, but we will use it in a
different way. Shortly. We will mostly copy paste
the existing layouts, namely D's two down here. It is a bit more extra work, but you will see why we need
this for these cool effects. But no worries, I prepared
everything for you. These are all the
source slides that you will need and super simple. Here are the icons,
the header slide, once you zoom in the origin background
picture, the content slides. The wearable written content once on the left,
then on the right. The same for two pictures. Within the written
layout, only the header, one sub-header, one
paragraph as a body texts, or sometimes three
bullet points. As you have seen, that
simple animations, the objects that relate to specific animations you already see there to build
in animations. This brings us to the
navigation pane where you will gain new skills handling
this little window here. The navigation pane will have a crucially important
role in this project. It's critical to name
most of the objects and their respective names have
always a specific purpose. All these will save you a massive amount of
working minutes. You can already
think before debt. Now let's continue with
the background picture.
4. Create the home page and the subpages : Open up your project file. Remember, I used the
phrases website, homepage, sub page for a
very simple reason because that's exactly
what we are doing. Building a website like presentation, we'd
zooming features. Technically, it's a
PowerPoint presentation, but we will function
just as a website. Once it's ready. Let's set
up sections for these pages. Go right above the
backup section and click new section and name it. Overview. Right after. Do the same and create four
more sections for topic 1234. Move your cursor between the overview and
topic one section. Click there, and once you see the line in-between, hit Enter. Now right-click on
this slide here, go to layout and click on Blank. Don't forget to delete
this little text box here. Scroll down and go to this slide where you can
find the background picture. I know it looks different. That's the original one that we will make it
look even better. Click on the picture and
hit the Control C buttons. Scroll back to the overview
and hit Control V. Alright, now, right-click on the picture
and go to form a picture. Go to the fourth
step, picture color. Down here, you find a
drop-down for recolor. Click on it, and here you
find many variations, options for recoloring
the whole picture. This is actually
already Photoshop work, but PowerPoint has the
built-in feature so you can recolor the
pictures by just one-click. How cool is that? Remember the template colors. Powerpoint automatically sets up these color combinations
based on the template colors. It will perfectly fit
to our overall design. Go here and click on this color. This is the x and one
color in a darker version. Nice. This picture contains now only one color from
the design set. This move only will create
unconsciously to harmony in the human eye as it will stay consistent throughout
the whole presentation. Now click on the slide here. Click control C buttons again. Based it to all other
sections by clicking always Control V. Here we go. We are ready with the
map of our website. In the next video,
we will create the interactive buttons and
the smooth zooming effects.
5. Prepare the buttons : Before we create the
interactive buttons, we have to design them first. Let me show you what I mean. Scroll down to this slide and
click on this slide here. On the first icon. When you click again, you'll notice that it's a group. The Morph transition
works only if the item which we want to
morph is only a single item. Therefore, we have to ungroup these nicely made icon groups. The problem is that
you can't work with them if they are
not grouped either. It's going to cause
further complications. The solution is designed
them as pictures. Here's how. First, select them all and move them a
little bit down here. Duplicate this icon. Simply use Control C, control V. Now, click and hold Control and
Shift buttons at the same time and enlarge it by clicking
and dragging this edge here. This way it keeps the same
proportions around this size. Click on Shape Format
to see the exact size. Make sure it's a bit
higher than 11 centimeter. It's important to prevent
any pixellated picture at the end once we export
this icon picture, That's why we do this. But the outline did not grow. That one we have to
enlarge manually. Just click on the group. Click again. Now you selected
the inner circle. Right-click and go to Format, Shape, open line, and go
to width, and make it 6. Now you see the
outline got thicker. Do the same exact
process for 23 icons. Once you're ready,
right-click on the icon and save as picture. I save it on my desktop in
a folder I created for it. Do the same process
for the other three. Now, open your folder where
you saved the pictures and drag them into your slide. The next movies that
you have to resize these pictures and replace
the grouped icons with these. Click on the first grouped icon, then click on Shape Format. You see here that the height and length is 3.6 centimeter. Precisely. Select all
the picture icons and goto picture format
and simply rewrite the numbers 2.63 centimeter. Perfect. Now we only
need to replace the grouped icons with
these picture icons. For debt, you have to
open the selection beam. By the way, we are going
to use this a lot. So get familiar with it. Click and hold Control button. Why you click on the idea icons. Now go to home, arrange, align, align left. As you see, it's kind of way too much steps for
a single move. Therefore, create
a shortcut icon for depth in your
Quick Access Toolbar. The Quick Access Toolbar
is the line here. With these shortcut icons. This makes your
life unbelievably easier when you work
with PowerPoint. This is located above your
ribbon by default like this. If you like, you
can leave it there. I recommend to bring it
down here below the ribbon. It supports your
work much better and makes more sense when
you want to work faster. As you see, I already
have it here. You can simply add
it by going to home. Arrange. Here, right-click on the icon and click on Add
to Quick Access Toolbar. The new we'll have
it here as well. Now, we can speed up
the work process due to same aligning process for
two or three other items, you will see how much
faster it goes with the shortcut icon. One more step. Click and hold Control button. While you click on the
picture icons one by one. Now, go to the selection
pane and click on these icons that you can
make them invisible. Now select all the
group icons altogether. You can see them now how they are located
here by the way. And simply delete them. Go back here and deselect these icons so that we make the picture
icons visible again. There you have it. We just
designed the buttons. In the next video, we will make these buttons interactive.
6. Make the buttons interactive / Part 1: This is the programming part. You don't code
like a programmer, but technically you
do the same since the end result is an
interactive user interface. You program actions on
the screen setting up conditions like if this
happens, then this happens. Let's rename the icons in the selection pane as icon 1234. Select all of them and copy
by Control C. Scroll up to the first slide and paste
them by Control V. First, we create the entry animation for which we
duplicate the slide. Before you either right-click on the slide and then
click Duplicates Slide, or just simply
click on the slide and click Control D buttons. It's faster. Go to
the first slide and relocated the items
in a diagonal line. Like this. Drag the
text boxes down here and make sure
that you move them in a way that the title and textbooks keep the same
distance from each other. This will create a smooth,
nice entry animation. Click on the next slide,
go-to transitions, and click on Morph go-to duration and make
it slightly faster. 1.75 seconds is fine. Test the transition
by clicking on this little star icon
next to the slide here. Nice, it works. Now located topics accordingly. We literally create
the progress metaphor. You place the steps on this imaginative
stairs step-by-step. Just like that 1234. Here we have to create
additional circles. Make sure it's perfect. Circle, click and hold Shift button while
you click and hold the left mouse button and
move it diagonally like this. Now, click on the picture to
recall the exact size again, you see it's 3.6 centimeter. Click on the circle and
go to Shape Format and adjust the size as
of 3.7 centimeter, both the height and Blanche. To make it slightly bigger. Duplicate the circle
shape three times. Or click control C once, then three times Control V. Place the circles accordingly in front
of the icon pictures. Click on the first one and
type with your keyboard. T1. Do the same for
the other three as D2, D3, and D4 at the end. Go to the selection paint again. You can reopen it on this step. If you closed it already, then just open it again in home. Arrange, then selection pane. Now we will have to create
a little organization here, and that's how we will
continue in the next video.
7. Make the buttons interactive / Part 2: Being well-organized
pays off in life. Heredity being messy brings way more trouble.
Let's prevent that. In general, it's a
principle that you name, label the object in
a structured way, especially when you
work with many objects. Let's clean up here to later, you will need to well-organized selection being to
have a clear overview. Click on T1, then go-to selection pane and rename
it there as of topic one. Do the same for the
three other circles. But be careful here. If you mistakenly renamed
in the wrong object, It's going to cause you three times more work
to fix it later. T2, t2, t3 as topic three, then T4 as topic for. Alright. Now rearrange them in order so that it starts
from the top as topic 1234. Just drag and drop
them like this. Now comes the most
important part, the so-to-speak coding. Click on T1, go
to Insert action. Click on hyperlinked to. Then on slide. Make sure to click
on slide three. Always double-check if you
click the right slide number. But it's easy to follow. Just check on the left side. You clearly see
that the slide for topic one is slide number three. Do the same for
the outer shapes. Click on T2, insert action
hyperlinked to slide. Slide number four. The same for the next one. Click on T3, insert a hyperlink to slide,
slide number five. Then finally the last one, topic for perfect. Now you just created the
menu buttons. For a second. We make them invisible. That's why the selection
beanie so useful. Just go there and click them
here so they turn invisible. Now copy the idea icon, Control C and paste it
on the third slide, Control V. Do the
same with the rest. Copy the testing icon and
paste it to the testing slide. Then implement icon,
implement slide, and finally profit icon, do the prophet slide. Nice. Scroll down to the backups. Now you see why we
needed this here. Copy this icon, Control-C, then paste it four times
on each topic slides. Go to first topic and
click on the smaller icon. Again, go to picture
format to see the exact size, 2.33 centimeter. Click on the bigger one and
just type in 2.33 centimeter. Good thing is that since
it's a picture file, it resizes itself proportionally
in an ultimate equation. So you only need to
type the size once. Click on the icon one. This is also critical here, that you check the
selection pane and make sure that you see
the correct labels. Click on icon and then
click on Backup icon. You see if you don't
have the right labels, you can mix them up easily. And that brings more trouble
later when you notice. Align them just as before. Now you have the shortcut. Select them both, go
to align objects. Then click Align Left and
Right after Align button. Afterwards, go to
selection pane, click on Backup
icon and delete it. We do the same exact
process for the rest. Slide number five, resize
the icon to 2.33 centimeter. Align them, then delete
the backup icon. Same process for the next two. In the next video, we continue with the
first animation tests.
8. Make the buttons interactive / Part 3: Now we worked a lot so far. Let's see some visual results to by testing the animation. Go to slide number two
and open the slideshow. Move your cursor to t1. And you see that the
cursor changes from Arrow to a finger
click. Click on it. Nice. It brings us to topic one. But as I see, it
doesn't zoom yet, escaped the slideshow
and see what's going on. We still didn't set up the
transitions for these slides. Select them all, hold Control button and click
on them one by one. Go-to transitions
and click on Morph. Again, decrease the
speed to 1.752. Test again slide number
to open the slideshow, click on the button,
and that's it. Beautiful. But now we have another issue. We need another
button, a home button, which brings us back to the
homepage, the overview slide. No matter where we are. Quit the slideshow and let's
create that home button. Go to slide number three. Again. Insert a circle shape, try to make it the exact size
like the icon down here. Either you do it manually or by adjusting the size
as I showed you before. This time I do it manually
so you can see that too. Just as always.
Make sure that you keep Shift button
clicked while you drag the angles of this
shape so that you keep the proportion of a perfect
circle, something like that. Always try to make
it slightly bigger. Now, place it right in
front of the picture icon. It doesn't matter if it's
not a 100% precise overlay. Just make sure that it coerce it and has more or
less the same size. This is just fine. Now, similar process as before. Type in letter H by
using your keyboard. This is going to be
the home button. Now makes sure that you
select the shape and not the character H. It happens
rarely, but can happen. Simple, just click away
and click on the circle. Now the circle is selected. Go to Insert, action, hyperlinked to click on slide. And here, make sure you
select the overview slide. Slide number two. Go to slideshow and
test it right away. Perfect, it works. Now you have to do the same
for the other three topics. Quit the slideshow, go
to slide number three. Click on Home button. First, rename it to home
button in the selection pane. Copy it by Control C. Just
it to the next three slides. You have an easy job here since it's always the
same home button, no need to adjust the
program behind it. It's going to morph back
to slide number two. No matter where you are. This is one amazingly cool
feature about PowerPoint, that no matter how complex
is your presentation, how many slides the software ultimate equally adept
to the interactions, transitions between
the two slides. Whenever you make
these hyperlinks. Let's see it yourself. Let's go to, let's
go randomly to slide number four and
opened the slideshow. You see how it works perfectly in the very
flexible, dynamic way. How cool is that
escaped a slideshow? Now, as you have realized, one big part is still missing the actual zooming effect
off the background. Yes. Let's create that one
too. In the next video.
9. Make the interactive buttons invisible : I know. I said now we create
the moving background and beer at me and told me yet, we have one tiny stem before making the
buttons invisible. You see, we still have these T12 34 buttons and
they shouldn't be visible. We only need their functions. Also, if you go to the
first topic slide, the home buttons
should be invisible to go to slide number
two and click on D1. Right-click, Format
Shape, click on Fill. Then here you see transparency, make it a 100%. Then as you see the
characters that we typed in t1 still visible. Here up you see shape
options and text options. We only made the shape
a 100% transparent. Now we're going to do
the same for the text. Click on the Text Options, and here you find another
transparency setting. Make it a 100 person to. Now this shape is a
100% transparent. Now it looks like we click on the icon while we click
on the invisible button. Now we have to copy and paste these format settings
that we just made. So we don't have to redo these
steps over and over again. For debt, the Format Painter is a super tool for safety reasons. Have the selection
pane in front of you. Here you'll see that you clicked
on the topic one button. Now, go to Home tab. And here you find this
little painter icon. Make sure you click double, not once, but double. After-death. Be careful not to click
on anything else. You see the cursor, it changed next to the arrow. You see the little painter. With the DoubleClick. You kept the Format
Painter switched on. And this way, you don't even
have to select the shape. Then click Format Painter again. But you can keep clicking to the next shape where you want
to copy paste the format. Again. This way we copied the format by simply three more clicks and we saved many
rapid iterative steps. How cool is that? It really feels good
to be efficient? There is one more thing. We have to do the same
process for the home buttons. Click on slide number three, click on this Home
button and do the same. Right-click Format Shape. Go to Fill, make the transparency a
100%, then Text Options. And here to transparency a 100%. Again, for safety, opened
the selection pane. You see what is selected
and what is not. Home button selected and watch. You go to Home tab
Format Painter again and be careful
again with the clicks. You double-click. Now it's a bit different. If you are not on the slide, but in the slide bar. Here you can click
on the next slide still without using
the Format Painter. While it stays active. You see I just clicked on slide number for
nothing happened. But the painter icon is still there next to the arrow cursor. But now you are on the
slide barrier against. So make sure you only
click on the Home button. And it's invisible. Beautiful. Again, do not click
anywhere else, but on the next slide,
slide number five. Then click on Home button. Then click on slide number six. And click on this lest Home
button and click escape. Nice, we are done. Let's check the slideshow. And it works nicely. The buttons are now
invisible. Perfect. Finally, we can focus
on the background. In the next video, we
will do it right away.
10. Dynamic backgrounds – create moving environments : What we're going to do is do
zoom into each topic areas. By debt, we use this metaphor
of milestones and literally zoom into those
milestones phases of the story that
we are telling. Let's start with
the first topic. Go to slide number three.
Click on the picture. Right-click picture
format, then fourth tab. And picture transparency. We make it transparent
first so we can see the slide frames
when we enlarge it. That's enough. Zoom out a little bit by holding Control button and scroll
backwards on your mouse. With a scroll button. Grab any of the
corner and drag them, making it bigger like this. You see how the transparency
helps you to navigate, Whereas the slide exactly. Now go back to the
overview slide to use a little help and count the
steps from the left 12. See when it's bigger, it helps one to the
left slide bar. You can, you can always control yourself and see the end
result within the frame. Now we have to crop it because it's became
quite big size picture. Now, I'm not saying
it's going to crash your PowerPoints,
but at some point, it can slow down
the speed when you present and can
make it glitching. Remember, afford a
morph transition, you always have to
duplicate a slide by debt. You always raised the size
of the picture of FiO2. That's why we make
the picture smaller. It also depends on
the performance of your computer, laptop. The surest way to
prevent such problem is just cropping it right here. Click on the picture, picture format and then crop around. This size is enough. Now
reset the transparency. Again. Click picture format. Then transparency 0. Nice. Let's test it right away. Go to Overview. Start the slideshow. Click on the first topic. Then click on the icon to
come back to homepage. Wonderful. Let's do the same process
for the other three topics. Click on slide number four, make it transparent. Format the picture. Four-step transparency. That's it. Enlarge it. Again. Go back to
the overview slides. Count the steps to be precise. 1234, fourth level, 1234. I want this area to be on
the left side in focus here. Like this. That's a good size. Again, crop the picture. Make it smaller.
Format, picture, crop. Nice. Reset the
transparency. There you go. Now let's save some
valuable minutes here to, let's just go directly to the next topic slide,
slide number five. Again, right-click, Format,
Picture, picture, icon, and transparency. Enlarge it. Go back to overview slide. Here we don't have
to count, It's easy. There is a little house
at the topic area. Go back and you see the house. Now it's a matter
of choice here. The concept is simple. The area of the topic should be normally on the left side. So later to content part, the other part of the slide
can animate in on the right. This time, I just choose to
locate the house on the right instead of the left because they liked the frame that way better. But you can locate it on the
left side too, if you like. The house is here like this. Now, crop it. Picture Format, crop, make it smaller. Then right-click transparency. 0. Nice. Now comes
the last topic area, topic for CO2, the
overview slide again, it's an easier 12 from
the right side, 123. Go back to slide number 6123. I want this area here. Same steps. Right-click, Format,
Picture, picture, icon, transparency. Zoom out here. Zoom out, and here you
notice that for depth, little area we have to
zoom in a bit deeper. And this requires us
to make the picture almost twice as big as the
previous one, for instance. Therefore, you have to crop already during this
enlargement process. Then enlarge again
the cropped picture. Here, you have to be careful to keep the picture in a line, in a line with the right border. Otherwise we will see
white lines on the right. You see? Alright, so 123. Okay, Let's adjusted
a little bit. That's just fine. Nice. Now, crop this picture for the second time. Click away. Nice. Rosette, the transparency
again, right-click Format, Picture, picture icon,
transparency. Back to 0. Alright, let's see
how this all works. Go to overview slide again. Slideshow. Very nice. In the next video, we will add the missing headers, titles that are also part
of these Zoom effects.
11. Completing the zooming effects – adding the headers: As you have seen from
the preview video, there was an entry text
on the very first slide. While you zoom into the topics, the topic titles also
zoom along the way, changing their sizes
and then fitting nicely to the frame
where the zooming stops. Let's scroll down to
the backup slides and copy this grouped
textbox here. Select Control C. Then go up to the first slide and
paste it Control V. Let's see the
difference shortly. You see now there is that entrance cortex title
right at the beginning. Now, scroll down again
to the backup slides. Here you see the title text box, select it and copy. Control C. Scroll back to topic
one and paste it. Control V. Click on the next slide. Paste again Control V. The same steps for the
next two topics slides. Nice. Now go to the overview slide and just
copy the text from the topic. One, title the idea. Click select, copy, control C. Then go-to topic one slide. Click on title, select all, and paste the copy title, Control V. If you see that by pasting it
to meet a second line, then make sure you delete that. Just click Delete, and be
sure that the last letter of the title is the
very last character of that text, like this. Let's do the same steps for
the other three topic titles. Go to overuse slides, select and copy the
next typo testing. Go to the topic two slides. Click on title, select all, and paste the copied
title Control V. Again, overview slide. Copy the next title. Implement Control C. Go through the
topic three slides, click on the title, select all, and paste the
copy title Control V. Alright, one more to go. Overview slide less
title, Prophet. Select copy, Control C. Go down. Topic for slight. Click on title, select all, and paste the copy
title, Control V. Nice. Let's go back to the very
first slide, slideshow. Nice. We have the entry
animation as we wanted. Now click on the
topics. That's it. You see the title
follows a zooming and fits perfectly to the target
frame as the zooming stops. The same consistent
zooming animation with all the other
titles beautiful. In the next video,
we will start adding the content of the
topics, topic by topic.
12. Adding the content layouts – master slides and script / Part 1: In this video, we are starting to add the content
to our topics. Make sure that you download this resource as a
Microsoft Word file. We will use this. I will also refer to the
end result PowerPoint. It will help understanding
the process. Let's have a look at
the script file first. As you can see, developing the
content with PowerPoint or any other software starts without even opening
the software. It starts with a
pencil and paper in best-case or in
your Word document. But I would encourage you to
start on paper because it helps to boost and
flow your creativity. Not having any frame
structure yet, just an empty paper
and your mind. That's how I put the
structure together, which is a clear
table of content. You can see now how
common sense is this, that you just need
a clear, logical, well-structured table
of content like this. And then you transfer
that into a PowerPoint. You also need to see that even as we start to work
in PowerPoint, you never start with the slides. The slides are details, the structure of the content, what dominates, and
how you should start. You can see structure
starting with an overview, then exploring the
content by topics, and exploring the topics
in detail step by step. In the Word file, you can see how I divided
the topics into slides. Topic one has four sub-topics. Slides. Slide 1234. The same way I continue, topic 23 slides, topic
342 slides each. Let's see it in the
final PowerPoint. Open the slide sorter view
to have a clearer overview. There you go. Overview topic one,
including four slides, topic 23 and then four. Yes, topic for has
an additional slide. But that's not a Content Unit, but a technical unit. Meaning we had to
duplicate this slide to create that ending scene
animation at the end. Now, let's set up the
frame by preparing the slides to the
topics, go-to topic one. Click on this slide, in this slide bar
and duplicate it. Click Control D three times. Go-to, topic to, again, click on the slide and
click Control D two times. Then topic three. Topic for go-to topic 1. First slide. Now we go to the Master Slides
View tab, Slide Master. Here you can find all the layouts from the
previous section of this course. What did you learn that
basic steps of zooming, we still use the same
template and layouts, but in a different way. I also added some
new layouts to you. And these are the two layouts
that we are going to need. Now, you see it's simple. Once the content on the
left and then on the right. I even named these layouts content left and content right. These two are just
for demonstration. You can't use these layouts. One more thing. If you have a closer
look at the layout, you'll notice that the small
connector shapes are gone. Well, they are still there, but I made them invisible because if I leave
them in the layout, then you can't animate and
zoom them in the normal view, they would be fixed. That's also one manual step that we must do from
the backup slides. Alright, let's close
the master slide view. Close Master View, and we are
back in the normal editing. You go to the first slide within topic One,
Home tab Layout. And here you see the
two slides layout that I just showed you, content left and content right. Click on contents right. Then here you ultimately find the header subtitle and the
body texts placeholders. Have a look at the
final PowerPoint again. We already knew who
that we didn't. Topic one, we have a
content slide, right, left, left, and
then right again. Let's set it up accordingly. Next slide, layout. Click on Content left. Next slide layouts, again, content left, forced slide
layout and content right? Nice.
13. Adding the content layouts – master slides and script / Part 2: Let's switch to disorder
review here as well. Then do the same with
the next topics. Topic to. Let's see the
final PowerPoint again. Three slides. Content right, right, and left. Home tab Layout. Content, right. Next slide, layout,
content, right. Last slide, layout content left. Next topic. Again, let's
see the final PowerPoint. Slide, one to content, right? Alright, go to our project
file, topic three, slide one to click on slide one, layout and content right? Next slide layout,
content, right. Let's topic again. Let's see the final version. Same, but this time
content left, left. Go to Projects file, click on the first
slide within topic for layout content left. Next slide, layout content left. Very nice. Now let's complete this process with the less layout elements. But now from the backup slides, these are the menu items
that we need to copy paste manually in order to be
able to zoom animate them, to scroll down and double-click
on the last slide. This brings us back
to the normal view. Select everything
that you see on the right side like this. Always check on the selection
pane if you selected well, and we need 1234 items. Here I check 1234
items, correct? Copy, click control C. Scroll back to Topic 1, first line, and paste them. Control V. You see in
the selection pane that these four items
now are on topic on top of every other
item on this slide. Don't click anywhere else yet. In case you did click
somewhere unintentionally. No problem. Just select them, hold Control button and select the first four items
one-by-one again. Now, drag and drop. Then just in front of
the background picture. Only the background picture has to stay in the playground. As the very last item behind. You see that we have to do
the same for the second, third slide, but
on the left side, scroll down again and
click on this slide. Select everything
on the left side. Select again these 1234 items while holding Control
button and copy them. Control C, and paste it. Control V. Again, drag and drop down
just right in front of the background picture. Well-done. Copy control C. Then scroll back and based control V. Again, drag and drop these four items just in front of
the last picture. Now, these venules steps are all the same for the
next three topics. So at this point I will
fast-forward the video. If something is unclear, just come back to this part of the video and you will
have your answer. Well done. You just set up the
frame for all slides. In the next videos we will add the written content from the scripts file,
topic by topic.
14. Topic 1: adding the content / Part 1: Let's end the contents
to topic one. Go to the script file and select all content
from slide one, copy Control-C. Go
to the first slide, we didn't topic one and
then paste control V. Drag the text box on the right. Like this, resize it
slightly to seed better. Now makes sure the
text box is selected. Then change the fonts
due to the theme fonts. Just scroll up here within fonts and click on Roboto, Body. Copy Paste one-by-one. Let's start with the title. Select copy, Control C. Click on the title and Control V. You see that it makes
sometimes in additional enter, but make sure you delete that. It is important that the
last letter of the title is the very last character of
the text box like this. Then subtitle,
select, copy Control C. And click here,
paste control V. Here. We won't need
these two items. So select them both
and just delete. Next slide. Go to script file. Select the slide
to content copy. Control C. Go to the second slide
within topic one. Based it by Control V. This time, place it on
the left like this. Then change the fonts
again to Roboto Body. You see that the title
is still the same. You could also copy it
from the other side. But to be systematic
and most importantly, fast, we just keep
doing it this way. So copy and paste it. You see the subtitle
is already different. Select copy control C, Then based control V, delete the empty
characters at the end. Now select and copy
the bullet points, then paste it here, control V. Now here you have to
be a bit more careful. Select these items. You can notice that these
are four items not to. That's why it's so important to always have the selection
being in front of you. What we only need
to delete here is the backup icon
and the pipe icon. Select them here and delete. By the way, don't forget to delete the text
boxes on the site. Once you're ready with them. On this slide, we already
have a visual item to, normally I only use pictures
for this whole presentation. Here I add an icon only for demonstration
how it looks like. It must support the content. The title says there was one missing piece
that we ignored. So I just pick the
missing puzzle icon. Go to Insert Icons. Type in puzzle. Here it is. Select and Insert. Make it slightly smaller. Change its color. Right-click Format, graphic,
fill, color, and white. Good. Next slide.
15. Topic 1: adding the content / Part 2: Again, script file, select and copy the text and
then paste it in this slide. Control V. Place it on the left and change
the fonts to Roboto Body. Again. Select and copy the title, Control C, then paste it here, control V, Backspace twice. Select and copy the
subtitle Control C, then paste it here, control V. Then the bullet points as well. Again, make sure you delete this icon and the
backup home button. This time we insert the first
picture in the script file. You'll see that I left
myself a reminder for the keyboard once I searched for the respective picture
in the library, which is arrow, go to insert
pictures and stock images. Type in arrow. And that's the one,
select, insert. And it's ultimately inserted. Nice. Click on the text box
on the left and delete. Next slide, which is the less
slide within this topic. Again, script file, select
and copy the content. Control C, based
it in the slide, Control V. Change the fonts
to Roboto Body again. Select and copy the title. Based it here. One Backspace. Then subtitle, select Copy, then paste Control V. Then
both points select copy, paste control V. This time, we need these icons. So keep the pipe icon. This will be the
notification that this is the last slide when you
present the content. Just a short recap. Select these items here. You see that this is our invisible home
button which we created and the topic icon. That's why we need
the backup icon. So hold Control button and
click on Backup home button. Go-to align just in case you missed to
save it as a shortcut. Again then Home tab, arrange, Align and align, right? And that's why it's important
to have this shortcut in your Quick Access Toolbar to
save some valuable clicks. Now, you can click on the Backup Home
button and delete it. Nice. Now delete the text box
on the right as well. One more thing to do, insert the right picture. Again, go through the script
file and you see here I marked online meeting.
Back to the slide. Insert pictures, stock images, type in online meeting. Let's scroll down and
find our picture. Here it is. Select and insert. Very nice. Now we have all the contents
that we need in topic one. We have to do the
animations, right as well. We will do that in
the next video.
16. Topic 1: animations / Part 1: Before we set up the animations, Let's see where we
stand right now. Go-to overview slide, slideshow. Click on topic one. The idea. As you can see, it's
still quite messy here, even though the content
is already there. However, on the second slide, you already see some
interesting things as the title animates
to the left. Then on the last slide, we see some other thing
as the home button and the other graphic
animated to the right. Now let's clean up all
this and make it right. Before. Let's go to
Slide Sorter View. Go to transitions, select the last three
slides within topic one while holding
Control button. Go to duration and
make it 1.5 seconds. Let's already set it up in
the other topics as well. Always leave the very
first slide on 1.75. Now why are we doing this? Because the first slide is the Zoom in animation
from the overview, there are more details
to precess for debt. We leave a bit more time
to view and process, but within the topic, there are less movements
between slides. For debt, 1.75 is a bit slow. Let's speed it up slightly. Select the second, third
within topic to go to duration and make
it 1.5 seconds. Topic three, topic for
you can do it parallelly. Just select both seconds slides, then go to duration
and make it 1.5. Nice. Let's go
back to topic one. Opened the first slide. Let's use these
legalist store icons on the left to test
the slide animations. Now go to animations. Then open animation pane. Within the animation pane, you can always see all animations that are
active within this slide. We have one animation for the white overlay
behind the text. Let's create first an order for the movements on the screen. First, we arrive to the scene, then the white overlay
should appear. Let's because simple fade
in animation for that. When you click here within
the animation pane, it always plays the
selected animation. We have the fade in. Nice. Next move. We need the header, subtitle and bullet points. Select the header, but
you can guess already the little line graphic next to it is also part
of the header, so they have to move together. For that, we will use
the float in animation. Now, watch out. We must be consistent
with the animations too. If we stick to fade in
for the white orally, then it always must be
a fading animation. If we always stick to
the texts with float in header subtitle body, then they always must be a
floating animations as well. Consistency is key.
As you noticed, you can add animations to multiple items as well,
and it looks nice. Now, next move, subtitle. Here is another beautiful thing. The animation painter. It works exactly as
the Format Painter. But for animations, same
logic, but different case. First click on the
item which includes the desired animation
which we are looking for. Just click the header, then click on animation painter, and click on Subtitle. Guess what? You can be even more efficient
and save even more steps. Remember the DoubleClick? Yes, same logic. Awesome news. I delete the animation that I
just added to the Subtitle. Click again on the header. This time, double-click
on the animation painter, then click on Subtitle and
body text, then click escape. That's how you disable the animation painter.
How cool is that? You didn't have to
go to click on item. Then animations then
select the animation, even selecting the animation, then click on item than
animation painter, then glucagon know,
just double-click and click on the
icons one-by-one. Let's play all. Very nice. However,
it's a bit too slow. Let's speed it up. The white base is already fine. That's 0.5 seconds. Let's select all the rest. Same way as you do that
in the selection pane, hold Control button
and select one-by-one. Then go to duration and
set it to 0.5. Nice. One more thing.
At the beginning, right-click on the white, on white base and
start with previous. This means that the
white base will animate automatically without
quick. As we zoom in. Let's see what we have done. Nice. That is already very smooth. Let's move on to the next slide.
17. Topic 1: animations / Part 2: Click on the little star again. Now, that's interesting. The title and the
graphic besides, move along to the left side. Why is that? Because we didn't add animation
to dam in this slide, so they just morph
within the transition. Remember, our morph transition is activated the whole time. We have to delete the
animation from the white base. Let's check it again. Beautiful. This case we don't do anything
with the header. As you see, it's the same
header from the previous slide. But the rest content
has changed. So we animate them. Remember, we were able to use the Format Painter between
slides and guess what? Same logic for the
animation painter as well. Just click to the
previous slide. Click on the last item. Go-to animation painter. Double-click. Again. Be careful not to click on anything else. Click on the next slide, then click on Subtitle and
body text, then escape. Nice. But we have a media item on the right side
this time, an icon. We have to animate it as well
along the content story. What do I mean by that? Let's think for a second. How would this
animation makes sense? Here's the respective content that refers to the
missing piece. Now, do you think it would be wise to tell the joke too soon? Obviously, not. Use the momentum
and a real impact. Know, first move is animating
this stuff to the left. A signal that next thought
topic comes, we switch focus. Then comes to information. There was one missing
piece which we ignored. Let's pause for a moment. Let it sink while the viewer, since this, now, that
is the punchline. That's the moment to animate the visual support in by debt, you attack the brain literally
from double sources. The verbal channel and the visual channel with
the same information. That makes a bigger impact. Click on the icon and
select float in animation. Let's see. Now, still not right, this should follow
this one right after. Let's reorder the animations. Click on the last one. You see that this
belongs to the icon. Drag and drop in the middle. We did not copy this animation. That's why it's 1
second long again, let's change that
to duration 0.52. Let's see again, getting better. But I want this
animation to come automatically right after the
subtitle without clicking. Right-click and start
after previous. Let's see it now
in the slideshow. Let's go back one step to the first slide and
then click Next. The missing piece, and
then bullet points. And here's another thing. The bullet points should appear both point by bullet point. Click on the text box, and click on Effects options. Instead of as one object, click on by paragraph. Plate. One, Two, Three. Nice. Next slide. This time the header changes, so we add new animation. The rest is the same. Go back to previous slide. Click on the text box. Make sure you are in
within Animations tab, go to animate painter
and double-click. Click on Next slide
and again, be careful. Read or scroll a bit closer and click on each item,
one by 11234. Escape. Nice. Now let's clean
up just as before, we want these two items
to move together. And this time we don't need the white base extra
animation again. So just delete the first one. Now click on the second, open this drop-down here, and click on Start
with previous by debt. Who made these two animations? One, nice. Again, we have a new media item, a picture on the right. Just as we did it with the icon, we stick to float in animation. And it has to appear
at the right time. First, just click
on the text box. This time only one-click. And on the animation painter, and then click on the picture. Check the title. We
made a complete turn. The picture refers to death one. Drag and drop this animation to the second animation like this. But again, it has to follow ultimately after
the previous one. So go to drop down again and start after previous. Very nice. And finally, the last
slide of this topic. Let's speed up the
process a little bit. From the third slide, click again on the text box. Then go to animation painter. Double-click, click
on Next slide, then one-by-one,
click on the picture. Zoom a bit closer. Click on the little graphic. The header, then
subtitle and body text. Click Escape. Click on the white base. You already know
we wanted to need this animation, so delete it. Let's see what we have. Nice. It's already quite close. Let's make the leader line and header one animation again. Click on them one-by-one to see which number
they have exactly. So it's 34, which means you have you have to click
on for the dropdown. Start with previous. The other day we had a meeting. That means the picture should
follow this statement. It should be the
other way around. Click on the second and drag and drop it to the
one level behind. Again. Click on the drop-down and start after previous. Very nice. There is one final thing to do. You remember this
little icon here? This is the reminder that
the topic has ended. So it must appear,
at very least. You see it's the first one. While it should be
right at the end. Well done. Now, after
it is heavy lesson, we will continue with the
topic two in the next video.
18. Topic 1: image morph effect: Before we continue
with the topic to you, I intentionally left out one specific animation
from the last video. Namely this one. This is called the so-to-speak
image morph effect. This itself is worth a
separate video because it's a powerful tool and
I did not want to overload you within
one single video. This is also a matter of choice. You saw a clear logical pattern
from the previous video, when and how to animate individual support for
the respective phrases, statements in the
titles, headers. With this animation, you
leave that part out, but you can also combine it. It's your call. I give you both options. Let's see how it works. You should see that it's a transition between
these slides. This picture morphs
into this picture. But hey, didn't we have the
Morph transition already? That's right. The
problem is not that, not the lack of Morph
transition in this case. Let's go to this slide, open the selection pane
and click on the picture. And here's the secret
to explanation marks. Now go to the other slide. Click on the picture
and guess what? The same executor
label for the picture? That's right. You only need to
label the pictures with the same exact characters within each slide and put two exclamation marks
behind, like this. By same characters, I mean even the capitals
and small letters. For instance, if you write
the letter S capital, then it breaks the effect
and it's one work. Seat yourself. It does
not work this time. Only because of debt one letter. Therefore, it's
very important to type in the same
exact characters to both pictures plus the two exclamation
marks at the beginning. Let's go to our project
file and set it up there to go to slide number five. Click on the picture. You see it's still labeled
as picture placeholder, which is an ultimately
generated named for two slide layout which we used, double-click and rename it. Double explanation marks. Then image only small letters. Then select and copy. Control-c. Go to the next slide. Click on the picture, then double-click on the
name of the picture, and paste it Control
V. There you go. Now, let's see it
in the slideshow. As you can see, it's
still does not work. Why is that? Because we already added an animation to the
second picture. Remember, the morph
only works between these two pictures if there
is no edit animation. The second picture, which
the slide is morphing. Let's fix that. Click on the second picture. Animations. Animation Pane. You can see that there is an edit animation
to this picture. Click on that
animation and delete. Now test it again. Very nice. Now it
works, looks very good. In the next video, we
continue with the topic too.
19. Topic 2: adding the content : Here comes the next big
chunk of this content topic. To open your Word file
and quick overview, we have 123 slides. Go to slide one,
select the content and copy Control C. Go to
your project file. Click on the first
slide of topic one. Within the slide, paste
the copy text control V, place it on the right, resize it slightly,
then change the fonts. Body text, Roboto, select and copy the title Control C.
Then click on the header, paste it Control V. Select
and copy the Subtitle, click and paste it. Again. Don't forget the
backspace when needed, select and copy the body text. Then click and paste it here. Select the icons below. We won't need them here. Delete, click on the text box and delete that too. Next slide. Select and copy the slide to
text from the script file. Go back to PowerPoint
and paste it here, change the font of the
text box to Roboto Body. Then copy and paste
the text one by one. Delete the text box on
the right and watch out. This time, we don't
delete the icon below, Only the pipe icon. We still don't need that. Delete that one. But
the backup home button we will need here, select the backup home button, hold Control button, and
select these two on the left. The invisible button and the respective
topic icon behind. Go to Align and align, right? Nice. Now, quick only
on backup home button. Then delete it. Soon. You will
see why we are doing that. Go to script file and see the word marked for
the picture material. Go back to PowerPoint, insert pictures, stock images. Then type in material. Here it is. This is our material
picture. Insert. Nice. Now you'll see that I want you to stay consistent
with the Home buttons do. If a picture comes in where
the icons take place, then the icon has to move. The icon is only part
of the background or the content
side of the slide. That's the concept behind it. There are sometimes exceptions, but we need a concept and
rules and most of the cases we follow the rules. Next slide. We already know
that we are going to use the same picture here, however, in a different way. This time, just copy the picture
from the previous slide. Click Copy, come
back and paste it. Control V. Go to a line. First, click on Align Top, then click on a line, right. Perfect. Script file, select the content, copy control C than
PowerPoint file based control V. To the left, then change the font of the
text box again, Roboto Body. Select, then copy, paste
the contents accordingly. And as always, pay close attention to the
very last characters. Delete the text box on the left. As always, have to selection pane open to see what is where. Select all the items down here. Here we will need the
pipe icon named graphic, since this is the last
slide of the topic, we need, of course, the topic icon and
the home button, but the backup home button
is not needed anymore. Click away, then click only on the backup home
button and delete. We just added the
contents to topic two. In the next video, we will animate them.
20. Topic 2: animations : Let's continue with
the animations in topic to go to previous slide, which is the last
slide of topic one. Just as before, click
on the last textbox. Go to Animations, animation
painter, double-click. Go back to this slide. Again. Be careful with the clicks. Scroll closer to make sure you click on all the
items correctly. Little line, header, subtitle, and body text.
Then click Escape. Go to overview slide and test
the animations slideshow, then click on topic two. As you see, we still
have some work to do. First one is the wide base, click on it and you see
that the duration is wrong. And the animation to remember, the white base can only be fade animation as we
set that as a rule, duration, make it 0.52. Then click on fate. And one more thing. Go to drop down and click
Start with previous. Then the little line and Header
have to animate together. It's easy. But if you're not sure, just select to see
where they are located. So it's the first
second animation. Click on the second
and drop-down. Start with previous. Click on the first one. Plate from nice it works. Click away and click Play. All nice. They work fine. Click
on slideshow here. Since we can also
test it from here, no need to go back to
Overview manually. Click on the Home button, click on the topic button. Beautiful. Also, the white
base fades in automatically, and then I can proceed
by clicking the next, very nice next slide. Let's test the animation. That's it. You see how nicely moves the home button
networks already. Well, let's see what
else we need to do here. Well, that's the easiest case. Just delete all the
animations here, since it's the same
exact content. But with the picture. Click Animation Pane,
select them all and delete the picture. No need to add fade animation to that because there is
the Morph transition, we get a new item
animates as a fade in animation by default.
Let's test it. Very nice. Next and last slide
we are in topic two. Looks pretty nice. Now, you might wonder how come that the
picture is morphing. Now, while we didn't add the
doubled exclamation marks, good question.
Thanks for asking. The explanation marks are only needed when it's in-between
two different pictures, but these two are identical. It's the same picture. Also. The title remains the same, so we only need to animate
the subtitle and bulk points. Click on the first slide, then on the text box. Animation painter
again, double-click. Then third slide again. Click on Subtitle
and bullet points, then click Escape.
Let's test it. You see we still need
to fix something. The white base should
not be animated. Plus the pipe icon
comes in too soon. Go to animation pane. Click on white base and delete. Test again shortly. Nice, the white base is fixed. Then click on the pipe icon, it's on the top and it
should be on the bottom. Drag and drop it here. There is one more tiny thing. When you animate, you see this little glitchy
effect between the text and the picture is because of the
different order. Click on the picture. You see that it's on
the top of all items. Go to the previous slide. Click on the picture. And you see that here, there are some items
on top of the picture. As we animate to the next slide, the header and picture
are crossing each other. That is what's causing
the glitchy effect. Let's just drag and drop the
picture on top here as well. Problem-solved, normal
glitchy effects. Very nice. In the next video, we will learn another
special animation.
21. Topic 2: cropping morph effect : Just as for topic one, we also have a special effect
for topic two as well, which is worth a
different lesson. This is called the so-to-speak
cropping morph effect. This means that we
morph the same picture. So the Morph transition of the picture that's
happening between two slides is about one
end identical picture. Still throughout the morph, we changed the picture
within its own frame. The frame stays the same, but within the frame the
picture is getting relocated, shifted, enlarged,
shrunk, you name it. Remember, there is
no sense in doing visualization animation just for the sake of it because
it looks nice. No, that's an amateur approach. If you learn this course and forget everything
you learned, this is the only one thing that I push you to keep in mind, at least when you use any animation visualization with a specific purpose goal
that is called design. If you just pick and use it for the sake of it without meaning. That is called decoration and has nothing to
do with this course. What's the concept behind
this special effect here? In this slide, you
explain that there was a shortcut that they realized during the production of
this chemical material. You show some detailed
picture on the left, but it's still a
superficial statement. You just explain the point. In the next one,
you switch focus. You dive into more
details to reveal more. Level one. Level two, by
changing the sides, you call out for
extra attention. Not only debt, but you draw the attention more by zooming
closer to the picture. On the left, you
explain verbally step-by-step with you are
showing on the screen. This is the function
of this effect. Let's create this effect. Click on the last slide. Click on picture, picture
format, and crop. Here is the frame
of the picture. Within this frame, you can
move the picture around, enlarge it, shrink it. Unfortunately, not rotating. But other than that,
pretty much everything. Let's enlarge it and create a zooming effect to
this area like this. Test it. Very nice, and that's it. Now, this is also just one tool. You can use it in
different ways. Let me show you how. Click on this slide. Duplicate, Control D. Drink it down here and to make sure what I want
to delete later, I add a blank slide demo. Now, duplicate this slide again. Click on this slide, then click on picture
format, then crop. Let's say I want to
demonstrate a process. Starting from the left. I zoom in here, closer. Click away. Test it. Duplicate this slide again. Control D. Click on picture, form a picture and crop. Let's go south in the
middle and enlarge it. It's slightly click away. And test again. Duplicate
this slide again. Click on picture, form
a picture and crop. Move again upwards, upwards to the right
direction, like this. Click away. Test. As a closure, I zoom back to the original
position of this picture. The overview from the
beginning to close this little tour guide
of that visual process. This one is simple. Just click on the first slide, duplicate Control D, then drag it down here
as the last slide. Go back to the first one and
opened slideshow. Overview. Step one. Step two. Step three. And
back to overview. It goes backwards to overview. Step three, step to step one. And starting
position. Of course, while you are showing the steps visually on the left side, you explain the steps
on the right side, animating the titles, words, bullet points accordingly in the right rhythm with
the flow of the steps. In other words, with
the flow of the story. Now, I will delete it here, but attached to this lesson, you can download an additional
PowerPoint source file only about this lesson. In the next video, we continue
with the topic three.
22. Topic 3: adding the content : Let's add the content
to topic three. It's quite short
one, so less work. Go to topic three
within the script file. Just header, select and copy, then paste it in the slide. Just bring it up here. Still we need to
change the font. Select Copy and Paste here. You might ask, why not just copy paste from the
Word file directly? Yes, that would be convenient if it worked, but it doesn't. You can, but the
font size, style, and so on are not converted
into the template setup. So it's going to cause
double work at the end. Only if you add it
first as a text box, then change the font here
and then copy paste, delete the text box and
these two items down here. Next slide, go-to
script file again. Second slide, content,
select and copy Control C. Go to PowerPoint
based it control V. Place it to the right
and change the font again. Robert took Buddy, select and copy the header,
based it here. Then the subtitle
and the body text. Delete the text box on
the right and watch out. We noted the picture we will
animate in on the left. So to keep the
consistency as before, a short recap about the
behavior of the buttons. The button cannot stay on the slide if a picture is there. So it has to move to
the right side note, you will see at the very end how it's different with
full-size picture. But that's just one single case throughout the presentation. So it's not the rule. Select Home button, hold Control button,
select topic icon. Go to Align and align
right. Click away. Then click on the Backup
Home button and delete it. Check in the script file. We are looking for
pictures labeled as when I go to insert pictures, stock images, type in when. Here it is, click and insert. Very nice. In the next video, we will
animate the topic three.
23. Topic 3: animations : Let's add the animations
to topic three. At this point, it's
better just opening this slideshow from here to
see the current animations. As you can see, it's
still quite messy. Let's go to the first
slide of topic to. As the animations
behave the same way, we can just copy them. Scroll back to the
first slide of topic to click on
the white base. Animation painter. Just one-click. Scroll back to the topic three, and click on the white base
here. Scroll back again. This time click on
the text box here. Animation painter. And now double-click. Scroll back and carefully
click on the little line. The header. Then click on Next slide. Here you only click on the
subtitle and body text. Remember, the
picture will fade in automatically because
of the morph animation. So let's save the
additional animations. Click Escape. Click on the white base, then delete each animation. Test the animations
from here, little star. Alright, the pipe
icon should arrive less and the body text is
now a single paragraph, should behave as bullet points. Let's fix these. Click on the pipe icon, drag and drop its animation to the bottom of the
animation pane. Click on the text box, go to effect options, then select as one object. Now, click the little
star on the left again. Let's see from the
beginning slideshow. Oh, you see, we
forgot something. And the header and
the little line should animate together. So let's do that. On the last animation, click on the drop-down, start with previous.
Click on slideshow. Again. Nice. It
works all just fine. In the next video, we
continue with the topic four.
24. Topic 4: adding the content : Topic for will be a short one. Just as topic three was. Let's add the content, open the scripts file, select and copy the text. Go to the first slide
and paste control V. Move it to the right, then change the font
to Roboto Body. Select, copy, paste the
contents one-by-one. As always. Pay attention to
the last characters and use backspace
where it's needed. Delete the text box. Go to script file. You see the node for the
world of picture number. Go back to the slide. Insert pictures, stock
images, type in number. Here it is. Select and insert a picture. Select all the items down here. Open selection pane and
see the selected items. We only need the home button, the topic icon, the pipe icon, and the backup home button. We don't need. Select
them and delete. Next slide. Select
and copy the content. Based it, control
V, change the font, Roboto Body, then copy paste
the contents accordingly. Well the smiley, you don't have to just type in the Smiley. Then set the font size to 200. Delete the text box on the left. Look up the word
for the picture. It's concert. Go to insert pictures, stock images, then
type in concert. Here it is, select and
insert. We are done. Let's animate them
in the next video.
25. Topic 4: animations / Part 1: We are adding the
final animations of this PowerPoint, same as before. To be faster, we copy the already existing animations
from the previous slides. Click on the first slide
of the previous topic, Dan on the white base,
animations, animation painter. Topic for slide again. Then click on the white base. Alright, let's check
the slideshow. We still have some things to do. Open the animation pane. Again, go back to the previous topic and
click on the textbox. Here. Animations, animation
painter, double-click, click on the slide, carefully
click on each item. Actually, you can already
save some time in advance. If you click the items in the desired order
of the animations, start with the header, including the little line. Next animation,
picture than subtitle and body text and click escape. Check the slideshow. As you can see, the
order is right, but still not complete. Let's fix the header
animation first. Now you see it's
easier to pinpoint since we set the right
order at the beginning. White Bayes little line header. That means the header has
to start with previous, Glick here, then click
Play from, That's right. Now the animate
at the same time. Click away, then click Play. All. One thing is missing. The picture has to follow the statement ultimately,
just as before. Click on the picture
header animation, picture, animation. Picture animation
has to start after previous. One more thing. In this case, I want to
have the picture from the previous slide to be fixed since we stay in the same frame. The other picture disappearing is just creating an
unnecessary distraction. Let's copy the picture
from the previous one. Click Control C. Next
slide, Control V. First, place it correctly. Go to a line, a line top. Then again, Align,
Align, Right. Nice. Now drag it and drop
almost on the bottom, just in front of the
background picture. For a second, Let's make the picture on the
top invisible. Just to delete the animation
of the picture behind. Click on the picture. Animations, open animation pane. Then click on its
animation and delete it. Go back to selection pane
and make the picture on top visible again. Next slide. You see that the header changed, so it has to be animated. Click on the first slide, then on text-box animation
painter double-click. Again. Mind the order. A little line header. This time the subtitle first and the picture
only afterwards. But I already had a specific
idea with the Smiley. It's the body text. But in this case, it should appear with the
question at the same time. Why? Because I assume after the
header one question left, they would still expect a
professional related question, but no, completely personal. Where do we party? The smiley is aimed to emphasize the ICC.
Got you feeling. But it only works if it jumps in right away with the question. Once they realize it
was aimed to be funny, the visual smiley ultimately
boosts the human laughing. Higher chance that they
will actually click on the Smiley and click on the picture, then click Escape. Click on play all. Let's clean up the mess. Let's start with the white base. In this slide, it
has no animation. It has to be fixed. So click on it, then click on its animation and click Delete. Now, click on the
first animation. You see it's the little
pipe icon again, which must be the
last animation. Drag it and drop on
the button here. Click on the first one again. Now you see that it's the
little line next to the header, which means the second
one is the header. This animation has to
start with previous. Click away, click Play
all getting better.
26. Topic 4: animations / Part 2: Now, as we talked, that in this case, the subtitle and body text have to animate at
the same time to you. So click on the subtitle. Then on the body
text you see here, these are the second
third animations. The third animation has
to start with previous, click away and click
Play all again. The order is now
fine, but again, the picture has to start right after the subtitle and smiling. Click on the picture. You see it's the
third animation, drop-down and start
after previous. And we just arrived to the very final moment of
this PowerPoint content. Remember from the
preview video that we closed with a
special closure effect. Duplicate this slide Control D. Within this slide, delete all the animations
except the last one. Select them all until here. Holding Control button, click, Delete, click on the picture, picture format,
and click on Crop. Direct the sidelines like this, but stay within the frame. Click away. Then make sure you select the picture
and align left. As you can see, it's not
covering the slide fully. We will cheat a little bit. Click here, and deform the picture until it
feels the slide frame. Normally we'd never do this, but in this case
it's barely visible. So I go with it. Click on the little star. It looks actually nice. We have to reorder the items to create the desired effect. Which means we have to
place the picture on top so it can cover the
content on the left. Go to selection pane, click on picture. Here it is. Drag and drop it to the top. But don't forget that we still need the home button. As always. Just select this area in
the corner like this. And you notice that we
just selected four items, direct them all, and drop
on the top. Let's test it. You see again these
little glitchy effects as the picture starts
to covert the items. To erase this glitchy effect, go back to this slide and
reorder the items accordingly. The picture has to be on
top of them here as well. But these items do.
And guess what? We still have to delete
the backup home button, in this case the pipe icon to, since it's technically
not the last slide yet. Let's select them all first. Drag and drop them to the top. And let's go one-by-one. The invisible home button. We need that. The topic icon. Of course, we need that.
The pipe icon has to go. It's still nonetheless,
slide, click, Delete. Next one, backup home button, not needed anymore either. Delete. Let's go back to the
final slide and test it. Now. Beautiful. Just as we
wanted. One last thing. Delete the backup home
button from this slide to click on it in the
selection pane and delete. We have arrived
at the last step. Let's have a review of
the whole project again, now that you created
it yourself. We will do that in
the next video.
27. Final Preview: Let's recap what we have
learned in this project. The goal of this
project was that you, as a team leader or team member, would present a success
story of a product launch. It's about a chemical
product and that finally the team got the approval
from the board to launch. You build up a fully dynamic environment for your content. Interacting with the buttons, zooming into each topic, presenting, animating the
content within those chapters. As I mentioned, this
is the homepage and the menu bar is this
metaphoric stare. Right here. After we have designed the
background buttons, we started to set up
the slide layouts for each topic using the
pre-built master slides. But combining with
the manual steps, when we had to copy paste the items from the
backup slides. We then started to add the
contents topic by topic, based on the script file that I prepared
for this project. Along the way, we
learned and practiced many animations focusing
on consistency. At some points, we have learned some special effects that we
included in separate videos. And that's all you have created this project on your
own now step-by-step. I hope you enjoyed
it and learned valuable skills for
your own projects.
