1. Introduction: Welcome to this class. I'm so happy that you are here. In this class. I'm going to show you
step-by-step how to create an Instagram
puzzle feed in Canva. Before I tell you what you
can expect from this class, I would like to briefly
explain what a puzzle feed is. The puzzle feed lets you
place every image so that it interacts with the
images posted around it. The magic of the
puzzle feed doesn't just lie in the way
that it's put together, but also in the intrigue
of what's next. Your followers will start
to follow your feed, not just for the stunning
images themselves, but for the way it fits
together like a puzzle. After this brief explanation, I can go ahead and tell you what to expect from the class. First, I am going to emphasize the main benefits of using
an Instagram puzzle feed. Second, I am going
to show you how to size and grid a
puzzle feed in Canva. Third, I'm going to
teach you how to use Canva templates to
create your design. Then you are going to
learn how to split the individual pieces
of the puzzle design. Last but not least, you're going to
see how to upload all pieces of the
puzzle to Instagram. By following these simple steps, you will be able to create an Instagram puzzle feed
in Canva within minutes. This will help you
boost the impression of your followers and you'll make your Instagram
profile more visible.
2. Puzzle Feed - Benefits: In this video, I would like
to pay attention to how beneficial the puzzle feed could be for your
Instagram account. I would define the
Instagram puzzle as a series of photos that you post one by one on your Instagram account
to become one large, interesting and attention
grabbing creative collage. Here you may ask, why is the puzzle feed
more interesting or attention-grabbing than the other images
posted on Instagram? The answer is simple. The puzzle feed
builds curiosity. Let me explain to you
what I'm talking about. You post one image
and your audience can see that this post is
connected to the next post. And they are waiting impatiently to see what is the next piece. Or maybe they see two
or three images in a row and get curious
about what it's all about. So they will go and
check your entire feed. Seeing one or a few pieces of the whole Instagram
puzzle feed brings people the feeling they
want to know what's next, which will drive them to follow your account and all post on it. We all live dynamically
having a lot of tasks. Therefore, all of
us want to save time and make our lives easier. When you are using an Instagram
puzzle feed template, you save a lot of time. You spend 10-15 min creating a bunch of images
inside one big image. Then you split the big image
into lots of pieces and you have a big variety of posts
to publish on Instagram. The Instagram puzzle
allows you to be active on Instagram without spending a lot of time designing this stuff. You don't need to be
a designer or to have some special skills to create a stunning and branded
Instagram puzzle feed. You can use pre-made puzzle
templates in which you can integrate your colors
and fonts with no effort. A good first impression
is everything in a virtual world where
attention spans are low. The best way to appeal to your ideal followers
visually and to create a powerful
first impression is through a puzzle feed. It catches your follower
is It's gorgeous. Look. If I've convinced you
of the advantages of posting a puzzle feed on
your Instagram account. Just keep watching
to learn how to create such a feed
within 10 min.
3. How to size and grid an Instagram puzzle feed: In this video,
we're going to take four simple steps
that will create the foundation of our
Instagram puzzle. Without these steps, it wouldn't be possible
to move forward and create a precise design that is stunning
and eye-catching. Therefore, please
don't miss any of these four initial
steps of the process. First, we're going to calculate the size of
our Instagram puzzle. Second, we're going to apply the size to our design in Canva. Third, we're going to
prepare the environment in Canvas editor forth. We're going to create
the grid of our design. Before we go to canva and start creating our
Instagram puzzle, we need to calculate
the size of our design. We're going to create
a three-by-three grid. This means our
Instagram puzzle will consist of three
columns and three rows. Each column and each row will include three Instagram posts. I guess you already know
that the Instagram post is a square with a width and
height of 180 pixels. To calculate the size of
our Instagram puzzle, we multiply 1080 pixels
by three and get a result of 3,240 pixels. Our Instagram puzzle is going to be a square with a size of 3,240 pixels on each side. Now we can go to canva. On the top right corner
under the gear icon, there is a button
called Custom Size. When selecting this button, canva allows us to enter the width and the
height of our design. Here, we just type 30 to 40 in both fields and then
select the button, create a new design. Canva takes us to
Canva editor and we can turn on the
rules and guidelines. To do that, we go to File
on the top left corner. By clicking the File button, we see a dropdown
menu and select Show rulers and guides from
the available options. By turning on the rulers, we can view the horizontal
and vertical rulers on the top and side
of the screen. You can see the
gray highlight on our rulers while selecting
or moving the element. This shows the dimensions of the element that we've selected. We can align it by viewing
measurements on the rulers. You can place the
guidelines anywhere on your design page to position the elements correctly
and perfectly. Guides are very helpful when we want to work in a
specific border and alignment on a design page using the rules and
diodes in Canva editor, we can align the elements in our Instagram puzzle and easily create three columns and three rows with the
same width and height. Let's go closer to our design. Now. I'm going to create two vertical and two horizontal guidelines. The top ruler is going to help me create the
vertical ones. And the left side ruler is
going to navigate me create the horizontal ones
using drag and drop. I'm going to drag the
first vertical guideline to 1080 pixels. In the same way, I'm going to drag the
second vertical guideline to 2160 pixels. We currently have
three columns of the same size and our grid
structure is 50% ready. To complete it, I'm
going to create the other two guidelines using
the drag drop technique. Again, I'm going to drag the first horizontal
guideline to 1080 pixels. In the same way, I'm going to drag the
second one to 2,160 pixels. We already have our
grid design completed, which will guide us when
creating our Instagram puzzle. As you can see, this grid shows us
clearly where each piece of our Instagram puzzle
is going to be located. We can perfectly see where one element ends and
where the other begins. Now we're ready to
move forward and start creating our
design using a template.
4. How to use Canva template: To speed up the process of
creating an Instagram puzzle, we can use some of the
templates that Canva offers. We can reach the
templates by clicking the button templates on
the upper left corner. Then we need to search
for keywords that describe our business
or our topic. Let's assume we're selling healthy food and we type
these two keywords. It's very important to type the keywords together
without space between them. The reason is that
the templates that canvas shows us when
typing the keyword separately are completely
different from each other and it would be difficult to include them in our puzzle. Let me show you what
I am talking about. First, I'm going to type
healthy foods separately. The designs we see
differ from each other. Of course, we could use them, but I recommend using templates with similar
color schemes and fonts because this will save
us a lot of effort and time. Let's see what
happens when I type the keywords, healthy
food together. We see that there
are enough templates with similar designs that can be easily used when creating our Instagram puzzle. Before I choose
the first template for our Instagram puzzle, I'm going to create
a second page that will help me
to select and group all elements of the
selected template and apply them to
our puzzle design. Using this second
Help page makes the whole process smooth
by providing us with a space where we
can adjust and edit each separate template that
we include in our design. After we already have
the second page, I can just bring
the first template to this second page and select all elements of the
template. To cut them. I use the command Control X. Then I use the command Control V to paste all of them
on the grid page. The first template is
already on the grid page, and I'm going to
resize it to fit inside one of the small squares. Of course, we can move only a particular element of the template and change a
little bit the design we use. We can also put a
particular design inside two or more squares. It's up to us how we
will edit the templates. All the steps that
I've just done to put a template
inside a square of our grid design should
be repeated until we have filled all nine
squares on our puzzle. Let me summarize the five steps. First, choose the template. Second, bring the
selected template to the second Help page. Third, select all elements of the template and cut them forth, paste the element of the
template on the grid page. Fifth, resize the elements
of the template to fill one or more squares on
the Instagram puzzle design. I'm not going to repeat the five steps over
and over again while I'm creating
all nine designs for our Instagram puzzle, the steps are easy to remember and apply to the
workflow in Canva. I only want to emphasize
that you can also use the right button
of the mouse when you cut and paste a design. I personally prefer to use
the command on the keyboard, but it's okay if you want to use the mouse when cutting
and pasting the elements. Once we have our design
ready and look at it, we can make some more changes depending on how
clear the design is. We can adjust or
remove some elements. It's up to us to make the
design look stunning. When adjusting the elements, It's key to make some
of the elements touch more than one single
square of our design way, our design looks really
like a puzzle and all squares from the design
look like pieces of it. We could also play
with the colors and send some elements
behind others. After we are sure that
our design is completed, we can take the
next step and cut our design into equal pieces.
5. How to split an image: We already have our
puzzle design completed. Now we need to download the file because
we're going to use another program to cut our design into
nine equal squares. To download the file, I go to the upper right
corner and select Download. Then I check the file type, makes sure that the
selected file type is PNG and clicked download. The program I'm
going to use to cut our puzzle design into
small pieces is pine tools. It is user-friendly and free. People use the program
to split an image horizontally,
vertically or both. It allows its users
to choose the sizes and quantity of the
images being generated. With its simplicity and
high-quality end products. This program is widely
spread all over the world. Therefore, I highly
recommend it. To bring our puzzle
design to the program. I go to the field called input image and click
the button here. I choose the file from
my computer and open it. The image appears
on the dashboard. On the right side, we can see the ways the program
can cut our image. In this case, I select to split the image both vertically
and horizontally. Then I enter the number of vertical and horizontal blocks. Before I generate
the new images, I can adjust the
quality to 100%. Once everything is done, I click the green
button split image. It takes a second to
generate the new images. As you can see, you can download all files as a zip file or download every
single piece individually. I prefer to download the zip
file with all images inside. Now we have all the puzzle
pieces on the computer, and we can take
the next step and upload all the
images to Instagram. But before we take
the next step, let's look at the images
that we've generated. The first three images are from the first row of
our grid design. The first row is the top row. The fourth, fifth, and sixth images are from the second
row of our puzzle image. This is the middle row. The last three images are from the third row
of the grid image. This is the bottom row. When opening some of the images, we see that each small
square of the puzzle is converted into an
individual Instagram post. The quality of the
images is high and promises a good conversion
of our Instagram puzzle. After we've split the image
into nine equal pieces, we should upload all
nine designs very carefully in order to appear on Instagram in the right order. This will be our next task.
6. How to upload a puzzle feed on Instagram: In this video, I'm
going to show you how to upload puzzle
images to Instagram. The most important
point is to upload all nine images in
order of last to first. Let's get started
following this logic above the bottom right
corner image goes first. This image is named row
three, column three. Then I upload the
bottom middle image, which is named row
three, column two. I will continue with the bottom middle corner image called row three, column one. The first row of our
Instagram puzzle is already uploaded. Now I start uploading the images of the middle
row of our puzzle feed. I'm going to do it again
in order of right to left. First I upload the
middle right image called row two, column three. Then, as you guess goes, the middle image
in the second row, this image is named
row two, column two. And now goes the middle left image called row
two, column one. The second row of our puzzle
feed is already completed. One more is left, and we will be
ready. Let's do it. The upper right corner
image goes first. This is the image called
row one, column three. Then I upload the
middle image in the first row called
row one, column two. And now goes the last
image of our puzzle feed. This is the upper-left
corner image called row one. Column one. Look at how
beautiful our puzzle feed looks. It makes Instagram
posts eye-catching, stunning, and more convertible.
7. Conclusion: Congratulations. Now you are completely
ready to create and post puzzle feeds on
your Instagram account. You only need to follow
the steps shown in the class to ease the process of applying
the steps above, I summarize the steps in
this conclusion video. Using your knowledge
gained during the class and helping yourself
with the shorts guide. In this video, you
can do it open Canva and create a design
with a size of 30 to 40 by 30 to 40 pixels. Use the guidelines to
create three columns, each with a width
of 1080 pixels. Use the guidelines to
create three rows, each with a height of
1,000 to 80 pixels. Use the keywords that
describe your topic or your business and
find templates to use. Create a second page
in Canvas to use as a middle station when bringing the design to your puzzle feed. Re-size the selected
template and put it inside one of the three
squares of your puzzle design. Repeat the last step nine times. Adjust the colors and the elements on your
puzzle feed template. Download the file
as PNG open pin atolls.com and split the
image into nine pieces. Download the images
and upload them to Instagram in order
of last to first. When you complete
the whole process and you have your
puzzle feed published, you could share it with
us here under the class. By the way, if you
enjoyed this course, please leave a good review
because it really helps.
