How To Create An Awesome Morning Routine: 10 Ways To Start An Amazing Day

I want to share with you something that Louise Hay - famous author and success coach - once said...

She said:

How you start your day is how you're going to live your day. How you live your day is the way you live your life.

In other words - the foundation of living an amazing life can traced back to one thing - the quality of how you start every single day of your life.

If you believe that, you're going to love this class.

Because within it, you're going to learn 10 ideas for implementing what I call the 'Wake Up & Go Routine.'

This routine is a combination of simple habits and mindset training, designed to help you replace:

  • Chaos with order
  • Stress with clarity
  • Negative emotions with a sense of happiness and motivation
  • Wasted time with time spent on things that matter

In a nutshell, once you learn and use this routine, you'll have the recipe for building your life, one amazing morning at a time.

This course uses a lot of illustrations to explain ideas, examples to show you how they're used, and practical action steps to help you use them in your own life.

I really look forward to sharing a ton of great content with you in this course.

1. Why Take This Class?: Hey, this is Derek, and I want to share with you something that Louis Hay, who is a famous author and success coach, once said. She said, How you start your day is how you're going to live your day and how you live your day is the way that you live your life. In other words, she was saying that the foundation of living an amazing life could be traced back to one thing, and that's the quality of how you start every single day of your life. If you believe that, then you're gonna love this class because within it you're going to learn 10 ideas for implementing what I call the wake up and go routine. And this routine is a combination of simple habits and mindset training designed to help you to replace chaos with order, stress with clarity, negative emotions with a sense of happiness and motivation and wasted time with time spent on things that matter. In a nutshell. Once you learn and use this routine, you'll have the recipe for building your life one amazing morning at a time. This course uses a lot of illustrations to explain ideas. Examples to show you how they're used and practical action steps to help you to use them in your own life. I really look forward to sharing a ton of great content with you in this class to go ahead and click and roll, and I'll see you on the other side. 2. Strategies 1-2: so welcome to the wake up and go routine. 10 things to do to start an amazing day. Very simple things to do. If you do them, it will improve the quality of your entire day. From time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. Let's dig into these 10 ideas. The 1st 1 is unleashed the beauty, not the beast. And so this is all about getting into the right mindset immediately on getting up, waking up. And you want to be in a positive mindset, not a grumpy, nasty, grouchy kind of mindset, which is what ah lot of people get into. And then they wonder why they have such a crummy day. Well, you want to get into a positive mindset, and it's not going to be just azizia saying, Well, just wake up positive. You have to take some actions. So that's what this idea is all about. Unleash the beauty, not the beast. Practice three simple things immediately on getting out of bed that are going to put you into a mop positive mindset and that could be is different for each one of us. But here's some suggestions. Smile for no reason. Just put a big old smile on your face, right on waking up and just think you know what I get to wake up. How awesome is that? And so smile Open your blinds. Get some sunshine If you sleep with the blinds close, which most people do, then opened them up. And because I've seen people in the middle of the day have their blinds close, I don't really understand that personally. If you have a window and you have blinds, why do you not let the sunshine in? They keep them closed. Well, that's away, too. Grumpy ville. All right, so open up your blinds. Get that sunshine coming through, and while you're at it, go ahead and open up the window while you're at it. Get that fresh air coming in, and if you don't want to open up the window, if it's raining or something like that, or if you just feel like keeping the window closed, then step outside. If you can get some fresh air, breathe some fresh air in initially, take some deep breaths. Another good way of doing this is to listen to some music. Music has a powerful effect on us, and it can put you in a good mood. When you aren't in one to begin with, so turns him on. You know, get some music going. Feel good. Take some actions that are going to improve, how you feel that's so important to get going right out of the gate with a positive mind. Set Number two. You want to nurture your seeds of potential And what I mean by this is that when you wake up, when you first wake up, your mind in your heart are like this empty garden, and what you plant in that empty garden first usually becomes the fruit or results that you see for the rest of the day. Okay, and what most people do. Ah, lot of people get into the habit of planting, complaining or getting upset, arguing or watching negative news. First thing in the morning. That's the first thing that they plant into that empty garden. And with all this complaining, getting upset, watching negativity on TV, they plant those seeds, and then they wonder why they go through the day having a crummy day. Why don't feel good, why they're in a bad mood. While Why things aren't working out the way that they had hoped. Well, it's because part of the reason not all the reason but part of the reason is that when you plant negative seeds, then you're going to typically have a negative slant to your day. You're gonna have some negative results that you could have avoided if you planted good seeds. So how do you plant good seeds? What are your seeds of potential? This means that you want to talk, think and watch positive things again talk, think, watch positive things and set up your mind in emotions for success That's taking that empty garden and say, You know what? I'm gonna plant good seeds. First thing, I'm gonna talk about good things. Good experiences, talk about my goals. I'm gonna have a great conversation with my family. I'm gonna think positive thoughts about how things are gonna go well throughout the day. And I'm going to visualize successfully completing the things that I need to do. I'm gonna watch positive things and turn off the garbage on the morning news and just feed my garden or plant seeds in my garden that blossom into potential good potential success. So nurture your seeds of potential by planting something positive in your empty garden First thing in the morning 3. Strategies 3-4: the number three way to have an amazing morning. An amazing day is to know and go. The worst time to develop a plan is the moment you need one. And so many people try to do this. You know, they get going in the morning and they're thinking Okay, I need to do this. And you do that, I think. Or what? We're not. I put this or what am I gonna eat? What am I gonna do? Where? What do I need to take with me? And so they get in this mode of stress and that stress that they're in because they're trying to formulate a plan to start their morning. It causes problems. Things get for gotten. You run out the door without eating properly. And all this kind of snowballs throughout the day into one problem after another. If you forgot something because you didn't have a plan to begin with, what happens? Well, you have toe make up the time somewhere else to go get it because you forgot it, or you try to complete your day, do your day's tasks without the thing that you forgot. Maybe it's an important document. Maybe it's a presentation. But all of these things, when you don't have a plan, there's chaos in the morning and that again that causes stress and problems. So number three means to know in advance and have it ready to go a plan. What are you going to wear? Know about that? Know what that's going to be in the evening before you go to bed? Haven't laid out even. What are you going to eat? Decide that before you wake up in the morning and then, if you can, if at all possible, unless it melts or it rots. Put it out on the counter, ready to go so that you can put it together and eat it right away. If there's things that you need to take with you and you know these things before you go to bed, set them by the door. So you know to take him with you. So you're not scrambling, stressing out and having to deal with issues and problems throughout the day because you didn't plan in advance, So have a simple plan of action to go the night before so you can avoid all those challenges. Number four is what I call designing a day launcher checklist. So you're launching your day first thing in the morning. That's essentially what you're doing. And you want to have a checklist for things that you want to accomplish every morning to start your day. Okay, Just have a simple game plan that you can put on an index card or sheet of paper. Write it down. So if that includes, of course, waking up, opening your blinds, drinking water, checking the calendar, whatever it may be for you create a simple checklist of things that you want to accomplish in the morning and then either posted on the fridge. And if nothing else just reviewed on occasion, why is this so important? Well, because when you have a checklist like this, a simple checklists I'm not talking about anything extensive that you're gonna go. Ah, who in the world puts together a checklist? Well, I do, and it works phenomenal. And there are a lot of people that do as long as you keep it simple. And why is it so important? Well, because when you have a checklist like this of things that you know you want to accomplish throughout the morning before you go to work, it helps you to spend your time more efficiently and avoid wasting time on distractions that stress you out. So you know exactly the things that you want to do you that you want to accomplish. And so you don't have to think about it too much. You're not being distracted by things that aren't on your list, but you're getting it done quickly and efficiently because you know exactly what you need to do. Another advantage to doing this is that it helps you to identify and clarify specific action steps that you want to take in order. Have an amazing morning. You might find that when you sit down to create a simple checklist like this, you might say, You know what? I need to do this every morning, and I'm glad I'm doing that. I need to let my kids know how much I love him and spend five minutes listening to them talking to them. Whatever it may be for you, when you identify specific action steps that you can take in the morning, it helps things run a lot more smoothly. And if you if you find that something in your morning just isn't working. Right? Find out what you can add to your checklist or remove from your checklist in order to make your morning run. Ah, lot more smoothly and efficiently. So put together a simple day launcher. What I call a day launcher checklist things that you want to accomplish and do in order to start your day. 4. Strategies 5-6: number five is to go back to the future Great movie. And what this means is that one of the big biggest factors in having a successful day is setting yourself up for success the day before. And we talked a little bit about this a second ago. And step number three, which is No. One go then that was dealing more so with about what you're gonna eat for breakfast, what you're going toe wear things that you need to take with you, whereas going back to the future is all about knowing the tasks that you're going to complete the next day. You wanna have those planned out the day before, So you want to spend 3 to 5 minutes planning tomorrow? Today? Why is this so important? And what are the advantages of doing this? Well, that wouldn't talk about three basic advantages to planning tomorrow. Today? The 1st 1 is that you act with intention, not with impulse, without a plan. What happens? What do you do when you start your day without a plan? I'm going to imagine that you probably do a lot of things out of impulse. You think? OK, I've gotta handle that I've gotta react to this. I got a notification. I got an email and you take care of this. And you're doing all these things out of impulse without any clear intention of what you need to do. And so when you act with intention, when you have a plan, you act more efficiently. You get things done, better things don't slip through the cracks. But when you act with impulse when you don't have a plan, that's the recipe for chaos. And so spending 3 to 5 minutes playing tomorrow today helps you to avoid the chaos, Get things done. Another advantage of planning tomorrow today is that you get it off your mind. You have some peace. You know, if you have ah written down plan today for what you're going to do tomorrow, you can just let it go. You just say, you know what? I've got it on paper. I know exactly what I want to do, and I don't have to keep playing and over and over and over and over again in my head thinking, Well, I don't want to forget something tomorrow. I want to forget doing this. I want to get to know you let it go. You have some peace. That's another advantage to planning tomorrow. Today, another one and this is a great one is that it gives your brain time to find solutions. When you tell your brain in advance that you are going to accomplish this task somewhere in the deep recesses of your subconscious, mind your brain takes that and says, OK, I'm going to find the best way of doing this and you're not even knowing that it's going on , But it's It's at work trying to find a solution to handling that task or dealing with that problem effectively. And so when the next day comes and you need to handle it, guess what your brain has been at work. It's going to spit out of solution, and you're gonna be able to handle it and take care effectively and efficiently. Number six is you want to oil the rest, so when you wake up in the morning, you feel a little bit rusty, right? The joints don't move as easily as you would like them to. Your muscles are a little bit stiff, but in order to work and function at your best, you need to wake up your body in the morning and get the blood pumping and your muscles moving. You might be saying, Well, you know what? I don't have time to go to a gym. I have time to work out. How am I supposed to do that? No problem. You don't need to do much. You don't need to do an hour workout or even 30 minutes. You just need to do something to get your blood pumping and your body moving. And what I found is one of the easiest ways of doing this is while you have 2 to 3 minutes , or maybe less, even just a minute while your coffee or your tea bruise or your oatmeal cooks. You know you have that lapse of time where nothing is happening, baby, you're checking your your smartphone and looking at the news or watching TV or or just wasting your time while your tear your coffee brews your oatmeal cooks instead of just wasting your time. Spend that time walking around your house in a brisk pace, and that might be crazy to you. But if you don't want to go outside, if it's too cold, or you don't have a lot of time. Just walk around the kitchen, the living room, then back to the kitchen and back to the living room and do it. It is a fast of a pace, as you possibly can, or stretch or stand on your tippy toes for about 30 seconds, you know, stand up on him. Get back on your flat feet. Stand up on your tippy toes. Just get your blood moving. Move your arms quickly and do it in between those intervals where you have some free time again. 1 to 2 minutes. While stuff is cooking, brewing or whatever, use it efficiently to get your blood pumping muscles moving into oil the rust. 5. Strategies 7-8: number seven is you want to shower down some awesomeness and I love this strategy, and what it means is that when you jump in the shower every day, you have 5 15 minutes, depending on how long you take a jar. It might even be longer than that. My daughter takes 45 minutes showers. I don't know how or why, but that's what she does. And so 5 to 15 minutes, at least in the shower. This is valuable time that you're not distracted by a phone. You're not distracted by the TV. I hope that you don't have a TV in your shower that you have a phone in your shower or the kids or things like that. You're not distracted. And so what you can do is do something other than lathering up and cleaning yourself, which is important. But what I like to do is use this time to do things like express my goals. You know, I'll talk about the things that I am going to accomplish. I am really looking forward to doing this. I can't wait to do that. I love doing this. I'm expressing my goals or I might talk about an express affirmations. I'm feeling confident today. I'm feeling awesome today. I'm going to accomplish this. I'm going to be kind. I'm gonna be generous. I am expressing my affirmations in the shower while I'm laddering up cleaning myself. That's free time that you can use efficiently and effectively instead of just wasting away or another way. Another thing that you can do to shower down some awesomeness is to talk about something you learned recently and this is something that very few people do. But it's one of the best ways to remember something valuable that you've learned recently is to express it out loud. Will use that time in the shower to say, You know what? I recently learned this, and here's what I learned about it and this is what I learned about it. And I could see applying it here and doing this and doing that. Talk about something you learned like you're teaching it to someone else. And that's another great way of using your time in the shower. Another way is to state how your day's going to unfold. So just go through the process. You know, you created a plan. You plan to today out yesterday if you followed along and step number five. And so you have this plant state out loud how you're do it days going to unfold. Say, you know what first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna put together that presentation and one of the things I need to do with that presentation is get some graphics. So I'm gonna call Dan and ask him where I can find some graphics. And the kind of graphics I'm gonna be looking for is this. And just go through your day talking about how it's going to unfold successfully. So you planted in your brain clearly, and you'll be amazed at when you do this How often your day unfolds just the way that you spoke about it. So showered down some awesomeness. Use that 5 to 15 minutes to express something valuable out loud. Don't wake up your family. Don't wake up the neighbors when you're doing it, doing it quietly if you have to. You know, just say today I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna do that. And then I want to make this happen. That's okay, but don't just sit there and mindlessly let your mind wander, but use that time more wisely. Number eight is You want to fire up your gratitude machine. This means to identify five specific things that you're grateful for, and you've heard this probably many, many, many times in the past. If you are a fan of personal development, gratitude matters, especially in the morning. So the way I like to do it five things in the morning that you wake you, that your great before and this is so important because it puts your mind and emotions on a mode where your focus is what's working in your life and that makes you happy and satisfied . And when you're feeling happy and satisfied, that is the mindset in the emotion that's going to lead you to have more wins throughout the day. Again, that goes back to lesson number two about feeding your nurturing your seeds of potential. Well, you want to get into the right mindset in order to tackle and deal with all the challenges that might come out. Come at you throughout the day. You want to be happy. You want to feel satisfied and being specific about what you're grateful for. He's one of the best ways of doing that. So be grateful for big things. Small things. Be grateful for things that have happened in the past was happening right now. What's happening in the future. Be grateful for a person in your life. Be grateful for a place that you visited. Be grateful for a thing that you have but be specific in the things that you're grateful for And when you see an item in your mind when you're thinking about it and you're thinking I'm very grateful for this, say thank you three times while you're thinking about it and feel that gratitude. You know, if it's something like, you're grateful that you have a cup of tea in front of you and something simple and you enjoy it. Just think about that TZ Thank you, Thank you, thank you. Feel it. Feel grateful for it. Don't just say the words, but gratitude is an emotion and you want to really build that emotion by saying it with some feeling and saying thank you three times is a great way to ignite that positive emotion. 6. Strategies 9-10: number nine is You want to get your liquid fuel Drink 8 to 12 ounces of water. Not coffee, not tea. As soon as you wake up, you might even put it right next to your night stand. Why? Well, because you've gone 6 to 10 hours without this fuel that you need in your body. And so water is one of the most important things you can put in your body first thing and, you know, you might see. And I knew. I see this on occasion. People jump out of bed. First thing they have is coffee or the tea or they go without water until noon. Bad. Bad idea. Your body needs this for fuel. It needs water. So give it to give it the water that it needs the liquid fuel. And you might be thinking, Yeah, but you know, I'm not a big fan of water. Okay, Got it. So just squeeze some Citrus in it to give it some flair, flavor some line, some limit some orange, something like that. Just squeeze some fresh Citrus in there to give it flavor. And there's probably not a person on the planet that when you put some type of Citrus flavor in tow. Water is not gonna like it. And of course, it's not gonna taste like Sprite is not gonna taste like a non orange soda. That's okay. That stuff is sickeningly sweet and disgusting, in my opinion. Now you may like it, but this is close. And if nothing else is going to give you the fuel that you need without all the sugar and chemicals and coloring and everything else like that, so just fresh water was with Citrus in it. And if you want to take this up another level, then make some water with warm, warm water with honey lemon in its and so just squeeze half a women in there, maybe a teaspoon of honey, and this is a great way of drinking some water in the morning. Why? Because, honey, lemon water, we'll start your metabolism. It cleans your mouth in your throat and gives you this awesome boost of energy. Now, when you do this, you want to wait for a little while before you brush your teeth or you drink or eat or something like that. So do it first thing in the morning, but this could be a great energy booster of the honey lemon water. Warm honey, lemon water. Finally, number 10 is You want to start with a win, and what that means is you want to start your day with a victory. Even a small one doesn't require a lot. But you just want to get into the mo mentum and have a mindset in a moment tum of winning that will help you to achieve more winds throughout the day. You know, if you start your day with a win, you would realize that you know what? I just accomplished a win. I can do a 2nd 1 I can do 1/3 1 I can do 1/4 1 and it just kind of start snowballing. After that, you create this chain reaction of winds, and the easiest way to win in the morning is to make your bed something that a lot of people hate doing and may not even seem like it's important to do but make your bed in the morning. Here's what Naval Admiral William McRaven had to say about making your bed. Now, this is a guy who knows how to get things done. Okay? He said. If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. And if you can't do the little things right, you will never do the big things right. If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. Isn't that interesting? Very important. Making your bed in the morning. It's nice to get into a nice, clean made bed at night, but one of the more important aspects of making your bed in the morning is the mindset that it puts you in, and it puts you in the mindset of being a winner. 7.
