1. INTRODUCTION: Hello, my name is tiger, and this is a simple straight to the point course on how to create simple t-shirt designs, texts based t-shirt designs for free, for completely free, using Canva and I can't wait to see your designs to.
2. HOW TO CREATE A SIMPLE TEXT BASED T-SHIRT DESIGN WITH CANVA FOR FREE: Whether you believe you are a creative person or not, you can simply live with the OD, od exist out there on the Internet. For example, you can go to this side, could pinterest.com. Pinterest is a search engine, just like you go. But the difference is, is a visual search engine. You've probably heard of Pinterest before. So as you can see, our Britain t-shirt design in the search bar up here. So this is going to give me ideas of what I can make, what I can help to show you how to make in this course. So if I scroll down, I can see all of these design, that's a co-design them. And you can see text designs are very big as well as a simple text design. This one is a bit more flashy. So what you do is you simply scroll down until we see a design that you like the look of and that you believe that you could recreate. And don't worry, I'm going to show you how you can recreate as well. Also, you can niche down more. You could white t-shirt design and add another word, let's say call. The first word that came to my mind, as you can see here is called T-Shirt examples. Here's one here, as you see now everything is akathisia example. Here's one here that's a half. As interesting. Okay, Let's try something else is right flower. And here we go. Here's a simple flower design here, let's click this one actually as simple design and then summarizing underneath it. Okay, and it's right for a loss one, text. Designs. Oops, not really into our designs again, boss, right? So, yes, I have some t-shirt designs or pray more, worry less. You can recreate that and that can be accustomed T-shirt, design. High-five, defeat your enemies with success. That's great for the entrepreneur crowd. So here's one I found earlier. This is a simple text design to get your mind working, you can recreate this very easily. So we can use this as a template and then we're gonna change it very slightly. Remember, you cannot copyright a word in innovate, so you can copyright Designs, but not an actual word. So we can change this around a bit. It doesn't have to be a big change to what recommend you do is sign up to canva.com for free. I have a paid plan which I actually use. But for purposes of this video, I'm just gonna use the free tools. Okay? Once you own this amazing free design, so I, Amina is incredible. Go to create a design. Just to show you quickly, you'd write here 3000 by 3000 and make sure that's on the PX, then just hit Enter. So what we're going to recreate, we're going to recreate, where was it, this one. Okay, In this drug that tab, so make sure it's not my place. Okay, so this is breaking news. First. It has a white background or white rectangle and kind of a thin font. So let's do that now. So the first thing we're gonna do, because this is designed on a black t-shirt. And if you don't know practitioners, so the most, generally speaking, just click this left-click in this big design area. Go to this square here is colored squares is background-color. Click that, and then go to the color black. Okay? Because again, this is going to signify the black T-shirt. Okay. Now we're gonna go to where it says text here on the left. Or I could actually just press T on the desktop, doesn't work on the mobile app version. So I will just press T. Okay, just to show you and, and the the fault, the writing section has this appeared in the middle here. So what did as I drag the corner, that little circle to make it big block and drag it bigger and smaller very easily. Okay, Now let's meet this up a bit. So let's change this to breaking news. So double-click it. And I haven't covered the whole thing. Okay. Breaking news. And that didn't spill properly. They will go. And I got a cold, oops, undergo a colon at the end as well. So That's the first part. Remember breaking news. Now we want to get a white rectangle. How to do that? We go through it says elements. On the top-left there. I click this rectangle here underneath lines and shapes, and usually comes in blue. And then what I'll do is I'll change it to white. So I'll go to this blue square here and it says color underneath it. Click that, and then change to the color white. And as you can see, it's changing, changed to the color white. And I just remembered, of course, we need this text to be black actually. So we do have to change his tics. So I'll put the rectangle, the square now, but I'm gonna make it a rectangle by drunkenness. Over the text. Let's go up a bit, or is it okay? Now use a font called Anton. So click the heading and the phone is, it doesn't matter because you can change it. Okay. And I'm gonna go to where it says banners. And I would have Anton right there. I see the NDT, the edge of this box to make it smaller, make it bigger. I don't need it to be so wide, this case a bit jarring. Sometimes. I'm going to put this underneath the word breaking news. Then instead of the word care, I'm going to make making a funny t-shirt and make it as quite fun is 0. Breaking news, I don't care, but might be fun, yeah, because I'm going to say pizza. So how would you avoid you highlighted the I love. As you can see, I'm going to click this More button, these three linear dots. And then I'm gonna go to this section here which says duplicate, okay, well I know right, right on the right. Okay, so I've created that ticks, I'm going to drag it down, highlight it, and then change it to the word pizza. Ok. Now as you can see, this isn't as the, these two words are not as big as their one, so let's make it bigger. So I'm gonna move this piece so we're not a way for now. Come to the, I Love. I'm going to go to the corners and I'm going to drag it to make it bigger. There we center again. Okay, then I'm gonna go to Pizza again. Let me make up a bit. Now I'm going to drag the corner. I could drag any corner. I'm going to drag it down because I want to and we center it. Okay. But still isn't as books as this one is y. So what we can do, we can go to where it says I love, click it, and then go to this tool here. This is a spacing tool. As I click that. And they go to letter spacing, a slide this, as you can see on the left, the words are punching up together and also veering out apart. Ok, now I've gone too far. It's the middle of a line. So if I can make this a bit bigger, wider, the lettering, I will, and I have that's closer to the edges of the word breaking news now, then I'll do the same if pizza, I'll see it's quite close together. The letters go to this tool here, the spacing tool. I don't need the line spacing if I did that. In fact, you can't see because you only have one word. If I have two words, call me the upper bit and make it smaller, just you can see what's going to happen here. So if I hit this at this point and then the line spacing, then SBC, the bottom word, wouldn't leave. Okay? But we only have one word in this box, so we don't need to know. So, oops, let's go back to undo button, right? So again, I'm going to drag the cola, make it bigger. We sent you a bit. Now let's go to the letter spacing and make it wider. Looks quite good. Yes. As we see this one, the I love isn't as big. So let's make this pipit up with the corners. I'll make this pizza go down a bit and let you just press it down on the keyboard. Yeah, I'm happy with that. So to make sure it's lined up that a couple of things you can do, a few things. The first thing is to just use your eyesight. Can actually zoom in. So what it is with my two index fingers on my keyboard, I just from the middle of the mousepad, I sleep my fingers away from each other. If I slide them together towards each other, they will close. Or you can just go to this button. Button is slide are told here and do the same thing. Okay? So that's one thing could do, or he goes to where it says file. Okay, over here on the top header menu, go to rulers. Click rulers. And I'll click OK. Now I've clicked it. And now you can see two rulers are horizontal ruler and a vertical ruler. So if I click this, you can see a gray colored shaded in area appears that shows exactly where the lettering is, where it begins or ends. And it shows it on the vertical as well. So I could match that to the pizza gray area with a ruler as well. But I'm not gonna do that, um, with the something a bit more, the more gorilla. And I'm going to go to where it says elements on the left again, lines and shapes. I'm just gonna pick a line plot. Let me just, you know, you can just press the letter L factory. This is to show you, and I'll also bring a line. It's a shortcut, okay? This only works on desktop 0. Now of course the line is way too thin. If I go forward, it seems way too thin. We can't see that line. So let's go over here. This is the weight or thickness. And we're gonna make the line weight because for the purposes of Oregon and do so, that'll be fine. You can understand how I'm using this. Somebody use this to line things up. So if I zoom in again, I already mentioned how to do that. So I now can see if everything is really lined up. So let's go out a bit with this line actually. Okay, So can see baby, that's all. Okay. So that rectangle is a little bit more to the left of the eye. So do that Can now that looks pretty much in line of sight. This side, however. Not so much. Let me mute this line so you can see we have Bertha. Yeah, I think I need to make this love a little bit because I'll drag the corner. Yeah, yeah, that's better. Look at that as a pretty good line, I'd say. And you can make this as exact as you want to, of course. So you can do even better than I did on this. I'm just going to delete those markers now. And there we go. We have a design. That's it. It's as simple as that. They have breaking news. I don't care. We have breaking news. I love pizza, right? And I can group this by left clicking and going over everything. And a now if I grab a cone up because it's grouped, I can make the whole thing smaller or the whole thing bigger. I can also move it around. Alright, so let's make it a bit more central. Okay? Now I can just simply group the text, make a bit smaller, grab the corners, make it smaller to visitor. I can leave the background as, ASE or could retain. It doesn't really matter. Now here's, here is how we get the mock-up photos. We go to VS photos on the left here. Okay? And click that. Then in a search bar at the top here, Let's just write black tee shirt mockup. Okay, You may have seen already written because actually happened recently as I said. So if I zoom out again, then you get all of these options. As you can see, these blank t-shirts is mockups, these models. And a lot of this is free. Okay? A lot of this is free. So to make sure we are using a free mockup, Let's go to this slider towards the top here. And then click free. Let me just go. They sometimes you click the button and it does that with things. So some sort of click Horizontal to stable the ping and we go back to the free price. So yeah, I'll maybe just market Peter. I don't know. But yeah. You get some free marks. Okay. Free mockups. They did this as a lady there. Let's use her. So phi make this bigger. So as you see, I just put the picture to the corner so I can drag it down to make it larger. It doesn't matter if you go off of the boat. As you can see, this blue rectangle shows that because that's what's off the board of the main square is not going to be shown. And let's make sure PCF phase so we know it's a t-shirt. I mean, her neck at least. And let's make it a bit smaller. And to be clear, as a person as well, wearing a t-shirt. About there be pretty nice. Now from here, why do you go to rest his position at the top pair position, hit that, and then press too bad. So the Tisha goes behind all of the design that we just made and click in an empty area. Now let's group this again so I can position it where I want it to be. Let's see where I want it to be. If you don't have the problem of Canva. But you can see that I have awesome free versions too. Okay, and it's that simple. Now you may be thinking that the sign isn't that great. Really. Remember the original design, what we are taking inspiration from a sending because many people using this type of design on sites like Redbubble and other printed them on companies. And remember you just learning how to do stuff. You can take this concept and then make it completely your own, completely change it. That being said, let me show you a very quick way of how you can author or add something to this design to make it a bit more unique. So if I press L to get another horizontal line, now this horizontal line is very thin as you can see. So if I go over here to where it says weight. Now this horizontal line is very thin as you can see or as you can't see because it's so thin. So I'll do is go over here to where it says Wait, click that, and then make the line become once again. And its changes to white collar announce would be easier to see. There we go. Let's make it a bit more thicker. Weight here. Okay, Now, let's make the horizontal line a bit shorter. Okay, I see, I'm just dragging the circle there. S uses Coursera to bring this down and it's lining up underneath the word. And there you go. I mean, actually I think it looks better. But do you think? All right, so just adding yellow line. Now it looks more books and now it's more unique because we didn't see this ONE with on Pinterest. Also borrow, you can just search on Google. You can just go to View, go to Search desires x, go tea. T-shirt, design, idea, something like that on Google, and go to images. And it's the same thing. You can find images. So I can also change colors. So if you go to the line and change the color for Z now a bit too, red. Crystalline again and change the color to blue. We can change the text to blue as well. Okay, and now it looks different. And you can understand when coming from that you can really have fun and is going to your liking and make different variations. You can make ten variations. The 10 t-shirts, right? And people like variations. Some people's favorite color is blue. Some people's favorite color is, we pick a random color, orange. Actually my favorite color is orange. Okay. You get the orange, et cetera, et cetera. So that is how you can make a text design very easily and for free with Canva.
3. SAVING YOUR DESIGN PROFESSIONALLY: And welcome back. Now, you absolutely need to save your design with a transparent background. That means without anything behind the lettering protects at all. So without the image, by delete the image, without this black background, even if I delete the black background without the white background, evil. So without anything at all behind the text. Now because I used the kind of a pro version, I have the opportunity to do that with this very website when I go to Download. And I usually save as PNG, SVG is another good one to do. And go to transparent background. He had a simply click that, and then they all save as a transparent background, almost a press download. Now if you're using the free version of Canva, there is a way that you can also do this for free by using another website called remove image background or Remove BG. Removed OPG is to name that actual website. Not only thing is you only get to do one image a day. So with the free account, you can do it. You can remove the background but only one image a day, and you simply drag and drop the image on this page. And it does do it perfectly. If you wanted to do more than one image of ASHRAE, their pricing plan. The next one up will be this subscription plan. And then basically one credit equals 1 background removal. So overhand a free count, free account, for example. For the Zoom in one free credit, that means one free removal. With a subscription plan as DC 40 credits a month would be eight pounds or 20 pence and image 40 credits. For example, I doubt you'd wanna do 200 credits, but you five pounds a month. So it depends on how much volume you have of work. Of course. Then there's also a pay-as-you-go service. The Pay-As-You-Go would be one credit, would be one pound 79 per image. Which can really recall, I think that press your, your output to expenditure can really increase quite quickly if you're going to play one possible, the line per image. Another option as well. There's clipping much it.com, which again, I believe they give you one free image a day. After that, the pricing plan is actually not too bad. I used to use this a lot. Actually. 299 a month for 15 credits among a 415 credits of meaning 15 times you can remove the background. So 2 plus 99 is probably about $4 a month. So those are your options unless of course you know how to do this yourself using Photoshop, adobe Illustrator, et cetera, or something else, then great. But if only keep the standard high, then those are two good websites to use. Other than that, simply use Canva.com and upgrade to the pro version, which again is 10 pounds 99. And it's an awesome website, so I do recommend it anyway. Of course is completely down to you. But you will absolutely need to remove that background before you add your design to a T-Shirt.
4. SELLING YOUR DESIGN - P.O.D OPTIONS : Most likely you are interested in POD, which stands for print on demand, which is where your design gets printed and shipped for you via a company, a print on demand company. So I'm going to show you very quickly some of the most popular ones and best ones to use for this process. And this is great because it means you are completely hands off. What do you have to do is create, design. And these websites do everything. I mean, literally everything for you, the customer service to you just create the desire. So red purple.com is one option and you can see has a text design here is actually my one. And it's a dandelion. They're very simple to make. Another one is much by Amazon. As you know, amazon is the biggest e-commerce website in the world. So it makes sense the train get on much by Amazon if you don't get accepted by the way, just keep trying. And this is a designer I have done, for example, because simple that is for the crowns. This is a gaming t-shirt. People play Clash Royale and Clash of Clans will know exactly what that means. As you can see your code in different colors. There's a women women's version as well. Women's cut. You see very simple. And again, I'm so much fulfill the orders completely. There's also Zazi haven't used as before, but there's also another big one. There's also printing PHI. They are great luck. Pb is printed by and integrated with Shopify. Also print full. Again, a lot people integrate that and use that with Shopify too. So those are some awesome print on demand websites that you're most likely to use if you're going to create a t-shirt business.
