How To Create A Meaningful Art Journal Page

1. HOW TO CREATE A MINDFUL ART JOURNAL PAGE: Hi, my name is Imani from life drafting. For me art journaling is a never-ending exploration is probably the main way I express myself. Working two things on a page has been an important technique in my journey as an artist and a being. In this class. I want to share that with you. If you're someone who wondered how to turn an idea into a journal page or how to express yourself, but didn't know how. Then this class is for you. You create using journaling and art techniques. Exploring idea and learn how to make it into a beautiful journaling page. Along the way, you build your confidence in color and experiment. Join me in exploring art journaling together. 2. CLASS PROJECT: Before we start the class, Let's talk about the class project. At the end of this class, you'll be asked to make your own art journaling page. This is going to be based off of the journal prompt. For this class. We'll be focusing on the idea of him silky, which is the Japanese art of reoccurring broken pottery. In the next class, we will talk about materials. 3. MATERIALS: The first thing you have to remember about materials, if they using what you have is always the best option. All you really need are some good brushes. I'm using some round brushes in a variety of sizes. They don't have to be expensive or fancy. Used even old makeup brushes, and they work just fine. You're welcome to use any medium that you like. I'll be using some equal line inks, some pen pastels, and a variety of writing tools including acrylic markers, Micron pens, watercolor pencils, and graphite pencils. The most important thing is to enjoy using these materials. Experiment with mediums that you haven't used before. Colors that make you feel excited and any other media that catches your eye. Basically, the more you experiment, the more you're going to learn. You'll also need some basics like a pallet to mix your colors, as well as some water depending on the media you're using. The only thing I would recommend, it's finding the best paper that you can afford depending on the type of media you using. The type of paper matters a lot. You want to make sure that the paper can handle water if you're using any water-based medium. I found that mixed media paper or watercolor paper as a least 300 GSM, works great. You also need some scrap papers. You can use this to jot down ideas or play in your journal peach. In the next class, we will talk about inspiration. 4. INSPIRATION: So we have our journal prompt. But now let's try to find our inspiration. How do you turn an idea into a beautiful journaling page? So for this class, we pick the journal prompt that surrounds the idea of consumers. After journaling about it, the main idea that came to my head without being broken. You're more beautiful because of it. And the way you repair yourself, the goal that you fill in in the broken pieces in your life is what makes you special. So I really wanted to convey that in my art journal page to get the imagery. Of course, I went to Pinterest. I mainly wanted to look at the key themes I wanted to include in my journal page, which were flowers broken into the pottery. I also wanted to include a face. A great website that I discovered was this person did not exist.com is basically AI pieces that are not copyrighted. Another way to find inspiration is looking through magazines. Magazines and advertisers spend a lot of money to make things look pretty. You could choose to redraw a portion that you like or even use it as collage paper. One of my favorite ways to get inspiration is going into nature. Taking a walk in nature, but not only clear your head, but it will also surround you with beautiful imagery. Sometimes what I like to do with color match. So another way to find inspiration is books. E, e, e, e, e, e, e, e e. In the next class, we'll put it all together. 6.
