1. Introduction Creating SanDisk: Everyone. This is John Mobley from three D Create Tutorials and welcome to my fifth class in Skillshare. I'm super excited to bring you this full tutorial in creating this fun production Santis Drive. This course is for beginners on Up and you should have some basic understanding Plasticity program. If not, you can check out my very first class that goes over the basic tools. The SanDisk course will show you how to create these production shapes and give you a better understanding on how to create CAD models with over 2 hours of modeling. At the end of your learning journey, please rate your overall learning experience because it really helps me develop better teaching methods going forward. Thank you. Let's get going. 2. SanDisk Download Section1: There's going to be a section for downloadable stuff, which is basically my images, a model. That's stuff that I created. Also the actual images that were downloaded from Best Buy website, which is storing the images that were used to actually create the model and then my own personal model that I created, so you can actually download it, open it up, and actually use it for verification of how things are made. So I hope this helps. Thank you. 3. SanDisk Creating Main Form Section 2: So this is the first part of modeling this object, and this will be creating the main form. As you see, it's rotated along the top here, and it's very smooth. And the bottom is more of a flat piece. Kind of hard to see what the coloration here, but it's more flat on the bottom here compared to this area is more rounded. So this is the first object that we'll be creating in this part, tutorial. Okay, so here we go. Okay, so we've actually opened up Plasticity. This is actual version two of their program, and iteration doesn't really matter because there might be a few things added to this. But anyway, this program is basically set up when you actually open it up, you actually have a square blender, and it's in the spot as you see it here. The first thing we'll be doing is we can use the actual square to start building out our model. So here we go. So we got the top view. I'm going to go to the Z axis and get it basically lined up here because it's going to be from the top view down. I'm going to go to this little arrow here, and then I'm going to import a pen. And then I have this on my desktop, and this will be the front Dimage and open that up. So real simple to do. So I'm going to actually select this block now and start working this. I'm going to select the face selection here. Make sure I got at least selected here. I'm going to go to the side here and kind of just basically align this up as best as I can here. So something like right to the edge there. Just like that. Okay. Same thing here. Just like this. A just trying to make this as quick and easy as I can. Now one good way to do both sides at the same time here is I would select this side and I also hit the shift key and select this side. I put this on wire frame. This way, when I pull one out, they both go. I'm actually going to start with this other side first though. I'm going hit the shift key here and I'm just going to use this to help me drive that edge. Again, you pull it out. This way, they're both exactly the same amount of distance on both sides. Nothing we can do here is just bring this down. And I'll adjust this a little bit. I just want to get this going. So again, back to the Z. And one thing I'll be doing here is I'm going to be taking the image that we just brought in, and I'm going to bring this above the location. So I'm going to hit the Giki here and just bring this up. Hit Okay. Okay, so what I'm going to do here is I'm going to select this object selection, select this at the key, and I'm going to actually bring the pass down just a little bit so I can see through it and go back to the Z. Okay, here we go. So this gives us the ability to see what we're doing. And number one is I'm going to start selecting the edges. So these two will be the exact same dimensions. Select both of these, go back to the Z. And just bring this in. Now we're going to pull this around and we're going to emulate that shape. Now, the perspective might be a little bit off on the image they took, but it's pretty much consistent with what's designed here. I'm going to go with just about right about there, hit the ok and that solves that. And then the same thing here. Suck these, go back to the Z, and we're going to pull this out again right on the top view. I'm going to go with this, it seems like the closest for the image, okay. This way we got the right shape, is what I'm trying to get here. That's the first step to get the exact look of this. 4. SanDisk Creating Main Top Form Section 3: So for this new part, we're going to be creating this part of the object here. As you can see, it has a radius in the center, and it goes outward, and it has a bunch of dots in it to help with the air, as well as a location for the logo to go. And the forum is basically very smooth around, and this is what we're going to be creating next. So another we're going to do is we're going to go to the top view here and kind of just basically get this aligned, as well. So we're going to kind of use this to help us understand the inside of this piece. I'm going to use this with the actual center mark, actually hit that center space there and bring it up. I'm going to make sure that I get closer. I'm going to make sure that this is hitting that top line right there and the sideline right there. This way, when I pull it, it'll be exactly lined up. Right about there, just like that. This is a real easy way to make sure that it all lines up. Now, you'll see that this is still good, but this is off. So what we could do here is just actually select these two points here. I'll zoom out a little bit, select them, go back to the Z, and we're going to line this up here. Hit the GK get it right to that edge like that. See where this line is. That's what we want. Again, you'll see that the perspective is a little bit off. I think I'm going to hit. I also select these bring this in a little bit. G want to get right into that space right there. Same thing here. Just get it dialed in right where it becomes a different form. We can go back to this one right here, GK and move it in right to the edge. There we go. The top one as well. Come here. Just want to make sure everything is perfectly set here. So we're going to bring this in just about right about there. Trying to get this inner now piece right here. All right, cool. I'm going to keep these lines. Instead of doing this one, I'm going to start working this around. So we're going to use a line here. I'm going to line this up kind of pull this straight down past the point about there. And then I'm also going to go back to here. Kind of line this up just like that. So we have this piece here. We have this piece. This is not going to work, so we need to adjust it. So when you use the G k here, move this upward, I need this line to kind of line up with this line. So we're going to bring this straight up. Like that. It okay. And the same thing here, jki. I make sure that lines up properly. So this will help us drive a better solution here. Okay. So now I'm going to use the actual trim key, and we're going to take away this piece and that piece. And we're going to now select this. Let's just do the line here just to kind of do undo. We're going to take this one and this one and just join them with the jki hit the jake, and that becomes one point. Okay, so let's go back to this now. I'm gonna select these two here. Be ky. I go to follow that line. Make sure it's on the plus. So it actually has a nice form. We're going to go right about right about there, okay? So this is done. Now we're going to do this separately. Beki. Again, I'm going to pull this out on a plus, so it lines up with that hitch. Just like that, okay? And this one here, Beki. See how it now forms to that edge like it should, just like that. And this one as well. Beki like that, hit okay. And this one as well. Beki. We're just just getting that nice curvature here, just like that. Okay. Now we got that form. That was very important form. We'll do this section here last. Okay, now we got this basically lined up. We have our form. A few things I lean to do I want to make sure that I have a nice rounded transition. It has a little bit of a rotated, section here. And you also notice that even though we got this line here, this is very smooth, rounded. So we're going to go back and kind of adjust that now. So I'm going to bring in this other image here again. Hit that P on the arrow down in port. Again, these will be all included. Going to use a side view here and G moves over just like this, and we're going to rotate this 90 degrees or 272 degrees, 272, hit Enter. This way, we kind of see how this is supposed to kind of form. We can go to the side view here. G, listen, put this into place, so we're kind of emulating what we see. See kind of how this is a little bit higher. I want to make sure this fits this space. So scale. I think we'll go to it actually goes a little there. G can line it up. I want to get the right thickness and everything. Again, it's important to line all this up. So when we create this form, it works. Another thing we could do here, of course, let's bring this one down. Go to the side here. I need this line to basically fall into this bottom here, right about there, just like that. Great. Now we've got this completed. Let's go and use this edge here to help us drive the right Form. So we're going to go back to the side. And we're going to pull this out. See how we got this nice curvature now, and it's lining up properly. Just get a little closer, make sure we kind of follow it correctly. We don't want to go too much. There's a little bit of a bleed there, so it's kind of hard to tell. I really think it's more like more like that. Yeah, I think that looks good. All right. We can also do the other side as well. So again, select the line. A key, go back. You notice this is more of a little wider vet angle. So kind of like this. Is it okay? Yeah, I kind of has a higher, like, pull. Okay, so now we got our basic form. Let's go and hide some things. So we're going to hide this with each key. This as well. And we can select this line. Just hide it for now. So hide it. Now, it's kind of hard to tell, I think that this is pretty flat from the way this looks. But it has a little bit of curvature on this image here. You see it rotates right there. I think that portrays the bevel. I don't personally own one of these, so it's really hard to emulate that properly, but I think it's a simple object. Now, if you wanted to, for instance, create a curvature. What I would suggest is selecting this, get the Shift S and we're not going to change the edge, but we are going to change this form on top. You see that, it comes up with a real simple four box, and then we can select it again so we get the middle here and now it's selected again. Now we have six or four points in the middle. Let's try this two more times. I think right there would be perfect. And what we can do now is to select these points in the center here to kind of help us form the shape. Right here, I'm going to go to the side. What I'm going to do is I'm going to select this and move it upward. Go to the side, GK. I just go move this up a little bit. So something like this, okay. And then I just want to select the four points in the middle right here. So let's go and select these four. Go back to the side. We can go here. It's fine. GK move this up a little bit. So the center has more rounded, just like that. Now, if I take off the lines and we can go back to the solid, we can see we have a nice transition in the whole thing to make it sure it's actually very rounded there. I think that's more realistic. So now we can actually hide this. I'm going to go to the top view. And I'm going to use this to kind of push through this whole thing. So again, use the line. I'm going to go to the exact view. We do one more time. Okay, here we go. So now that we got this, I'm going to hit the face selection and select First of all, I'm going up a little bit. Geeky. Bring it upward, okay. So now we got the face. I'm going to use this to kind of drive this in. So Iki and bring it inward. We're not going to go all the way through, though, because it doesn't go all the way through. So this is like, all the way through, right? I'm going to go I'm going to make sure these lines are showing. Go about see how I pass the center spot right there. I go somewhere about here. Get okay. I want to make sure I keep this nice smooth rotation on this. So I'm going to select this, select this shift, and I'm going to hit. Okay. What I've done here is use this to help me keep that rotated form on the top. So if I select this now and delete this you'll see that I still have the rotation of this form. Otherwise, it would not have kept that cold. So go and select this line and we can hide it for now, in case we need to go back. All right, it's coming out really nice. So let's go hide a few of these things. Again, you'll see that I have kind of a chamfer here, in a sense. We're going to kind emulate that now. So let's go and select the line here. And make sure we get the right one here. If I pull this out, a good way to do this is just to hide the other object, select it, hide it. We know that we're selecting the right thing. I really don't want to select this actually. I want the other one. Hide this one. This brings back in just like that. This is the object that I want to make sure I pull. I thought I showed a three D view, even though it's not exact the same one that's actually being modeled here. It has a different image within the Best Buy website. You'll see that it actually has a very smooth transition between these two edges here. I don't want to go too deep into that. I just want to have a line separating this stuff out, so it's its own padding it might look like it from the other perspective, but see how this is nice and smooth. This is a little bit edgy. On this little area right here, so it has to have a little bit of flatness. And I think the whole thing kind of rotates a little bit, but that's fine. We'll just go with that. It's nice view. Anyway, this is the best Buy website. All right. As I just showed you, it's not a really deep, you know, cut, even though it might look like it on one of those images. It kind of this makes it look more like it's, you know, deeper, but I think it's really more like this edge here. So we don't want to have too much of a edge. I'm not sure why that's different in this image compared to the three D image. So anyway, I'm going to try to kind of work between them. So I'm going to hide this let's go to hide this and go ahead and do this. So I'm going to take this right here and hide. So I'm going to select this whole thing with key and this part as well. Shift Alt, put the lines back on. And I'm just going to pull this out just a smidgen. Again, I don't want to go too aggressive with this. I just want to give it a little bit of separation there. I'm even just going to go with, you know, more of a fillet so it's smooth and round. There's no need to have a variation there. All right, so I'm going to take this one now and do the same thing. I'm gonna take this whole line here, Shift Alt. Oops. Shift Alt and see if we can got the whole thing. No, we do not. We, we do, actually, we got it all the way around. It's going all the way around like it should. Okay. Cool. We got the whole thing. And again, I'm gonna pull this out to a smidgen. Just to give it a nice fill it on the edge there, just like that. I think this overall look nicer. I'm not going to show edges. I want to show the line. As you see, it's its own entity and it has a form to it. Yeah, this looks good. I'm good with that. Again, what we could do right now is just put this into render mode. I can select this section here. And we can give it a nice gray color. Like that. And I'll give it some metalness like that. Okay. And this section here, just to kind of break it up a little bit, again, m. We can go back to more of a darker just to help us drive a different look here. We can do something like this, bring this down. This is giving us more of a grayer color because it's flat and it gives a reflection. I could take here and just bring this bring down a little bit and I could bring this down also. I think I'll go with a lighter gray or just go with a different color. It okay? That will help us drive the look. 5. SanDisk Creating Insert Form Section 4: So this next part, we're going to be creating this insert section which actually holds like some type of key chain or something to hold it so you can actually put it on a backpack or something like that. So this is the inner piece. And again, if you did this regular bevel, it would be very regular bevel. It would not be as deep as this or as deep as that. So here we go. Alright, so this next part, I'm going to take this back off, and I'm going to bring in that image so I can see it again. I'm going to now emulate this section here to cut this piece out. And again, I'm going to first create the form and cut it out and then work it out. So Alright, so we're going to go in and kind of cut this out. I want to start from scratch. And I'm going to use the basic line tool here just to kind of start this process. I'm going to go straight up to about here. I'm going to cut across. And again, I'm going to go all the way pretty much over I need to kind of get this lined up so it actually does the right thing here. And that's exactly where I wanted it. But anyway, we're trying to just go throughout this whole process to create your lines, and then we can go back in and kind of just manipulate things. So we know that this line is wrong. So GiGi we want this to be on the edge of that and on the edge of this. See how this kind of lines up right there and right there. That helps us drive that curve properly. Okay. We always have to make sure that that's lined up with something. So here, again, GiGi, we'll kind of bring this out and in. Has a weird sharp angle there, but that's okay. Here, G, we'll move this over just a smidgen. I think that looks great. So now I want to make sure that I get a really nice tight line right here. This is important because I don't want to be into this on a piece where it rotates downward because it can cause problems. So get this as tight as we can, right about there. Okay. So now, it kind of drives a really nice line there. Again, ki will pull this back right about there. Beki. Again, we want to get this kind of, like, right close to the edge. It okay? And then Beki. This is giving us a nice curvature. All right. So we've got the line here, which we needed, and I think it looks really nice. We just go back to points. Even bring this down to smidgen, see how that looks. We can also do another line here. Same concept. We're going to go about here, work your way around. Bring it straight down, straight up and then back to this one. Then we'd take these points and maneuver them. So's take this one here, Goa? I want to make sure I can see what I'm doing here, though. G. Just bring this down. Is it okay? G. Okay. G. Looking good so far, G. We'll bring this over here, just like that. All right, so now let's do the intersection here, take these, hit the B. We're going to pull this out, it's in the plus. Not too much. Same with here, B. This is a lot more aggressive on this one. Like that. B. I write about there and B. We got this all lined up. We got the inners, and we can now go in and manipulate this. I'm going to go ahead and hide this for now. We have this and we have this. I'm going to go ahead and cut this now. The first thing I'm going to do to cut this is we're going to actually select this object here, and then I'm going to hit the C key on the keyboard. I'm going to also select this right here. Select it and it does a cut all the way through and we're going to hit the OK button. That's been done. Okay. We're going to leave that there for now. And I'm going to go ahead now and just hide this one, so hide. And then we got this other piece that we created, and it goes, basically through. This is going to be my cutter for this. So I'm going to actually select it. First of all, I'm going to select the actual object here, select this section here. And now I hit the Ciki again, and we're going to select this piece and hit Okay. Now, I'm going to keep this for now because it's perfectly, you know, straight, and I don't want to get rid of that. So I'm going to bring this up with the Giki my way. And I can also make sure I had this. I want to make sure I know what name this is. We're going to call this inner cutter. This way I know which line this is or curve. Now we can just hide this for now. Hide it. Now we've done this. We can go in here and just cut this piece out. This is completely out of the way. This piece here is still going to be used, but I'm going to be using it to help drive the inner lines here because again, this has a curvature here and we can't just use a basic the section that we created earlier just to use that and pull it because it will never match the shape here because it has a form. The form is not straight, so if it was straight, it would be no big deal, but since it is not straight, we have to work with what we have. The idea now is to take this now and we're going to use the Alt key to go around the whole thing. Another good way is if you don't know for sure if it's going all the way around, we can actually hide this hide this one suck the line, select lt key, and as you see here, it is not getting this piece here. I don't know why that didn't cut properly, but we can go in here and just select this edge here. I select this. As long as it goes all the way through, make sure you get this piece here. If you have the same situation, if this is not here, then you don't need to worry about this. I would delete that. Now it's completely solid. I'm not sure what that little piece was there, but anyway, this is just a quick way to solve that problem. Select again, the whole thing. This time, the whole thing is selected. I'm going to actually do Shift D here to make a copy of that and just leave that where is. I'm also going to do the same thing on the bottom here, is to see if that did the same thing. Let's do the key and see if we can get the whole thing. See the bottom is fine. So again, shift D. And now that we've got this line basically made, we can go in here now basically hide this for now. This is our driving modes that we have here. A good way to do this to take these two. We take this one first and just hit the Iki and we're going to extrude it upward straight up. Okay. Same with this one, Iki, hit this one down. This will help drive the shapes that we need. So this is important. If we don't pull these up and create the forms, when we try to basically loft these, they will not work properly. So keep that in mind. I'm going to hide these hight. Now you see the different lines in here. Again, there are just variations, but we're going to go ahead and down, just go in and look for the shape that we just did. So the inner cutter is here, right? And I'm going to drive basically between these two spots is the center. So we can kind of help, just figure this out by bringing this down. I think we'll kind of drive it right there. And that's the center, right? And then I could take this one here, GKE kind of, you know, try to place it about a little bit less than midway. Let's say, maybe about there, somewhere near. Again, we're going to create two of these because we're going to have a section combined. So we'll take this one, shifty and bring it down just a little bit. This is the bottom of your actual sand disc, and this is the top. So I'm trying to keep it kind of similar. Okay. So very simple to do, Let's go and get rid of this line now, delete, and we got basically all the forms that we need. This one now, I'm going to extrude it downward, bring it down, and we're going to attach this to this one basically. We're going to take this now and hide it. We cannot use the blue lines at all. I'm going to go ahead and select this right now and also extrude it down so we have those all completed. Actually Control Z, Control Z. This is actually going to go upward, sorry extrude upward, just like that. Hit Okay. Now we've got this, we can hide this one. All right we got all our forms that we're going to need to connect to. These will disconnect to each other. But here we go. Okay, so this is the trick here. We're going to look at the actual cuts. All these lines are the forms that are made within your actual sheet, and you see that there are so many of them. Now, we got to make sure this piece here is similar. Here we have the same exact same. We go around the same here, same here. Again, we got to make sure we have consistency. If we don't have consistency and there's more on this top than we have on the bottom, we got to make sure we add lines. But for this one will be very easy to create because it forms properly. Now, this one here will be different because you got these different cuts in here that are not exactly the same because the way it formed on the bottom. So this will be much easier than this one. So let's go ahead and start selecting hit the Alt key and then shift because we have all the same amount of basic edges is what we're looking at here, edges. These are the same edges. So now if we connect these together, we could just loft it. So hit the key to loft. Now, I do not want G one. I want G zero. I want to be very, kind of a squared off edge. As you see, it did a really good job. If you take the lines off, you can see the form is very smooth and look at the outside. If there's no deformation, like weird things going on, then you're really good. If it is a deformation, then you got to kind of make sure that these lines are not messed up. So let's go a and go with that. Cool. I'm going to suck this piece here, just delete it. Gone. This piece, we can delete this as well because we've already formed the bottom of this, so we can delete that. We still need to form this to this. Now again, we'll put the lines on and you'll see that, these are all the same again, except for here, we don't have that line anymore. I'm not sure why they disappeared, but they really are there because we formed it the same. We could try this first and see what we come up with. Actually, it's really this line here is what we need to attach. Because we've brought this upward. I think for ease, I'm going to go ahead and just hide this for now. Hide it. Most likely we're going to use this other curve that we created. Here it is, I'm just going to extrude this one for now because again, I think I want to disconnect this now because it's the same form. I just saves us another step, bring it down. Control Z. I'm not going to do that. I want to make sure it's align. So this one, E. I want it to be the actual surface only. If you actually select the surface selection and select it, the whole thing will become a polygon or basically a solid when it comes to CAD. Let's go here and hide this. And now that we've got this, let's try this now. Alt key, Shift Alt, and let's hit the key and see how this looks. G zero again. And again, like I said before, it should be completely connected smoothly because it was formed with the same line that was here. It's a duplication of that. Okay, it came out really nice. So go ahead. Okay. So we can now go in here and just delete this piece, this one and this one, we could join with the jk and it should actually completely join because it's one piece, and we'll come back and smooth this out later. But yeah, that came out really nice. Okay, so now we have the bottom of this and the bottom of this. So we got to make sure that we now connect. So let's go back to lines and see what we got. So the problem that we're going to have here is that since we've used that form, we don't have lines associated here and we can try it, hit the all key shift let's try to do this and see what we get. Again, I have a feeling it's not going to be very smooth because we have some extra forms here, and this helps us to understand what's going on. See, here it is fine. Here is fine. Here's fine, but here is not, so we need to drive some extra lines, and this is another issue right here. See how the forms. So we need to create a form here. We can leave this here for now. I'm not going to use it, but this will help me understand what I need to do. I'm going to go here. I'm going to hit C, control R. I'm just going to bring this line right over here, in where this would go. So similar to the bottom. Kind of place it kind of about the same distance away like that. There we go. So now we got that. That's great. Same thing here. Just going to make it consistent, right? So again, select it, Control R. Let's bring this a little closer over here. So about right there, and that will look good. I'm also thinking I'll probably put one here because this is kind of weird. I'm just going to go right here, control R. And what we're doing is we're just cutting into this. So this way, it's kind of really clean. So this will connect with this piece. And see how this line is way over here. I don't think that's going to work very well. I think it would be better to have see, this one's going to connect with that one. We almost need another one right here somewhere. So let's go and do this, and we're going to do Control R. And I'm going to go about right there. So this way, it helps drive a better line here, too. Control R. And oh, it kind of right where it kind of hits right there because that is actually what was there before. Control. I'm going to go back one more. When I'm doing this survey here, Control R. This should snap to where it needs to go. See right here, I snapped. So this is where this will connect. If that makes sense, control R. We can go here again, right there, see how it snaps. And then, again, control R. We're just doing this to help us line up. See, this is exactly where it should snap. And then here, control R. This is just a real easy way to get this to Control R, go and go around. So we right here. Control R. Because again, it does have a form there. You just see it. See, that's all basically lining up now. And then here, Control R. And like we did here before, it's going to go right here for now because I want this to connect with this. This already has that piece there. So yeah, so now we got those all done. Let's go ahead and take this and delete it because again, it's a bad form. So now that we have all that, we can go now, select this whole thing with Alt key. Select this with the Alt key, Shift Alt. And again, have the key G zero. And you're going to see that without lines, go back to the other side here and see our form. So everything's very smooth inside. That's what you want. If you don't have smoothness, then you got a problem and you got to fix the line. This is questionable right here. It is we'll see how that looks inside because it's really the inside that we're going to be seeing, not the outside. I think that looks really good. Let's go and put this on basically a rendered mode. Let's try different colors here, see what we got. A little too. I think I'm good with that. So yeah, let's stick with what we have here. So now we can hit Okay. And we got that form. Now we can slot this piece here and just delete it because it's just an extra piece. Now we got these two forms. We're going to also hit the jki and just combine it just like that. Okay, so that's the way to make the bomb and top form fit in your space. So now if you go back in here, and you'll see that it actually fits exactly in that space like it should, and you have a really nice form. The only thing I would do now here is to thicken this thing. So select that and go down to the bottom here and thicken. And we're going to pull this inward to kind of give it more of a thicker inner piece. I'm good with that. Now it becomes a solid, and now we just got to go in and just clean this up a little bit. I'm going to select this one, Alkey, this one. We're going to make this nice and smooth on the plus, fill it. I just has a smooth changeover. Then in here, I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to select this here, Alt key. Cancel. This one here. Alt, it goes all the way around. Again, I'm going to make this into a fillet because this is like your main area that you're going to be seeing. Not too much, just a little bit like that. Okay. We could also do this one too. Pull in just a little bit with a fillet, and that will give you a distance away from this unit so it looks like it belongs. The same thing with the bottom, we could have done at the same time, but that's okay. Select Alt, Make sure it's all the way around, it is. And we'll do something similar to what we just did. Not too much. How about there, okay? Then same thing here, Alt over here and just bring it in a little bit. Because again, we're just trying to break it away from the other piece, so it looks like it's not the same. That is really the gist of that. I'm going to also go in here now and discolor this, select it at the MH. I'm going to go with a nice orangish color. Of, like, more maybe a little bit more reddish. I bring this over a little bit more, just like that. He okay, Kain. I want to kind of just make this a metal, more plasticky, and the rough can go down, so it's shiny. And yeah, there we go. So that's the complicated piece that's kind of hard to do without understanding that logic. Keep moving. 6. SanDisk Creating Breathing Holes Section 5: Going to do this real simple. We're just going to create an actual round disc, and we're going to start right here. There's no reason to go past this, right? So we're going to start right here and kind of just form it and scale this up a little bit, just to make it a little bit bigger. Kind of like right there. I think that would be fine. And now, like I said, we can use this to fill that whole gap. And it's that simple. We want to make sure that this is past this line, and we're going to do another one here, we're going to do Shift D, G, and we're just going to bring this one right here. This is easy way to do it. And to make it more simple see, these are kind of lined up now. And these are every other one, every other one, every other one. And yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it. And we're going to make it a little bit, better understanding here by just creating this form. So now that we have this here, I'm going to take these two lines, raise them up a little bit. I want to get past the actual edge here. GK bring it up. I'm also going to now take these. This one. I got two there, and I'm going to extrude them in. Take both of them hit the Eki and we're going to bring this into the space. Like that. Cool. It's very simple to do. Now that we've gotten this, I'm going to go ahead now and select both of these, just like that. Go back to Z. I'm going to zoom all the way out so we can see what we're doing. I want to make sure that even though this is a little bit lower, this should be the same height as this one. See, this is your highest one, right? This is kind of placed a little differently. Um, I'm going to go in here and kind of just manipulate this one here. I'm going to take both of these and just kind of move them over. So we're going to go here. I'm going to bring them over here, Giki and bring it right here. This is kind of like the top, very top. I just want to make sure everything lines up right. So Giki let's get it to the center of this, okay. So this one here needs to maneuver a little bit as well. So this one, go back to the top. And again, GK, we're going to move this into place right here, just like that. So now these are exactly equal out. So how many of these do we need? So if you count, I'm going to go through it real quick. So about 42 of these things. So now that we figure that out, we can just go in here, select both of these, and we're going to go back to the Z, zoom out, rectangle array, and we're going to go all the way to line up with we're going to bring this up. I want to make sure it's exactly straight. See how this red line is right here. We're going to bring this in right here. I want to make sure it lines up, right about it right about there. And again, we're going to go with 42. Hit Okay. Here we go. Now, as you see, some of them are not filling all the holes. So we're going to hit Okay. I'm also going to just bring these all up with the GK so I can make sure I surpass the top of this area here. See how that kind of is perfectly aligned, just like that. We can hit okay. And we can now get rid of this one, and we can get rid of this one. I think that would look better. Let's go to the top here. I might well, Control Z, I'll probably undo that one. That one I want to keep, right, so now we got all these. We can start doing the next step, which is, again, it takes a little bit of work to get to look nice. Let's take this one, delete it, take this one, delete it. We're going to select all these. Zoom out a little bit. We can just hide this for right now. Hi. Let's take all this. I think this would be fine. We're going to go to the top now and we want to make sure that we fulfill everything throughout the space. I'm going to go to Giki and we're going to move this whole thing, so it really lines up with this. If I bring this all the way over here, it does, or if I bring it right here, it does. We want to just bring this right there. I'm going to need to do here. We got double, so we're going to need at least one, two. We're going to actually now use the same technique, radio array. We're going to bring it over here. I'm going to bring it right here, just like this. I'm going to bring this way down just like that. It looks like it's about 13 positions. And that fits perfect. So that's that. So hit okay. And then what we need to do next is really just taking this one here. We got to take those pieces right along this border here. Oops. Get it straight. Select these, go to the top, and we're going to do the same exact thing we're going to do except for this time, we're going to just do a mirror. Here. And we're going to use the Fkey here and I'm going to bring this straight down just like that. Now we've got this lined up. We can hit Okay. And now we just got to delete some things. So keep in mind that we need to I would suggest now that we've done this, we can take this and just bring it downward, so we can kind of get it out of our way, but the same time, see what we're doing. So now that we've done that, it's so much easier to select things, right? So let's go and select these I want to select. This one, this one. We need to select all these here, just like that. We can delete those, make sure this is deselected. Delete. And you see now that we are getting the right mix here. We also need to take these ones away. This will be not good, and these will not be good. So let's go and do that. Delete. Oops, Control Z. Make sure to select that with a control key. Delete. This one can be deleted. These can be deleted. Again, deselect that one Delete. Then we can go in here and kind of deselect each of these Shift key. We know these have to go away. You know, this is too close. We'll delete those. This one. It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. I think we can do a few more here too. So we know this has to go, this has to go. This has to go, as well as these. This is too close, delete those. A couple of things to keep in mind, see how there's four here. There's one, two, three, four, five, one, two, three, four, five, those all line up. Again, this is a little bit off on the angle, but it actually is the way it's supposed to be, just the way the pictures taken. Yeah, I think that's going to look nice. Okay, let's make sure that we got everything dialed in here. It looks like that one is pretty close to the edge. I think if we go back to top view here, it is really close. Again, it's just a little bit off. I might want to just take these ones here and just kind of just maneuver them a little bit, at least this one here most likely. I'm going to hit the GK and just kind of move this over a little bit. Again, I don't want to penetrate that edge there. Even though it's not exact, you won't even notice it really. This one as well, it's too close to that edge. So I'm going to bring this down to a smidgen this is a good way to, you know, even though it's not exactly 100% correct, has to do with the image that was taken. Another thing to keep in mind is that we got this one here, right? That's another one. So maybe move this in a little bit, a little bit to the sign. Just to give it a little bit of edge treatment there. Again, G, bring this over a little bit. I don't want these too close to that edge. It will cause problems. And then here, you'll notice that in the sand disc itself, there is no of these circles here, so we kind of need to take these here and just get rid of them just like that. We can make sure we don't have this selected, this delete. These can go away too. And this one, delete. These didn't take for some reason, delete. If I look at the image, these are actually right underneath the sand disc, the holes, and right above the D, as you'll see here. That actually lines up. So yeah, this is the way it's showing. I think we're good with that. You got to think about everything you're doing, make sure it lines up properly. All right, so now the fun part is we need to take this other object, which is this one. And I'm going to bring this up because I want this to cut through, if it's not completely there, I'm going to bring this upward just enough so I can get a little bit of thickness going here. Same time, having it be able to cut through this whole thing. And it looks like the bottom and the sides here properly cut. Now, I'm going to do this just because I think it's the right thing to do. I'm going to take this face and do a shift D. I want to make a copy of this. I'm going to bring this down. The reason I'm doing this is because you can't really see the edges through here as much as you can in the center. So I'm almost thinking it has a little bit of rotation as well in this form. But for now, let's just go with what we have so let's take this in case I need it. I'm not sure how it's going to look. I'm just going to take this now. I'm going to go to the side view here. Do this again, select it. Hit these ones here. I'm going to make sure I hit the cue key. I do not want to keep. I'm going to hit Okay, there. Now I know exactly which ones I've did. Let's do this again. Select this. We're going to go to this side now. Actually this side. Select some of these here, something like that. Q k make sure. See how now you see the holes, okay. All right. We've got a few of these that are a little bit need to be moved upward because it's just not supporting the center of the space. I don't know why. Se right in here. These are not seems like there's quite a few here. I think once you get to the center space. Let's go ahead and continue with this first. I'm going to go to the side, sect more of these. I'm going to do there. Make sure those are penetrating. Q. Let's see. Se they got holes here. We're good. Okay? Again, suck this. Set more of these to about right here. Que. Make sure they go through. Okay, get okay. We're starting to get closer. Alright, so I need to take these and kind of just bring them up a little bit more. I'm going to go to the side. Just go and select these here. GK. I want to make sure that I don't penetrate the bottom. Just bring them up a little bit more. Again, just don't past. See how this is kind of like here. You see the little edge. It's passed and it's not passed. So it'll just to maneuver things sometimes a little bit to get what you want. Back to the side here. Shift key, select these Q k make sure that this is going through. See right there, okay? It gets a little bit more complicated as we go. Shift key, select all these Q k. Takes a minute. There it goes. Hit Okay. Almost done. Okay, it's calculating one more time. So select these here. Q q. It was around the sand disc part. There we go. Okay. All right. I came out nice. So again, perfectly aligned. I think what we're going to do is I'm going to go and take this piece here just to kind of give it more of a nice look here. I'm going to do a basically shrink in this piece. So I'm going to offset this line. Select the line. Make sure you hit the old key and again, hit the key, and we're just going to bring this in a little bit. It's just like this. See how follows this line? I want to get past that first set of dots. See what right here? Kind of that looks good. Hit okay. Actually, what I'll do is I'm going to take this line, Alt key, and we're going to use shift D. Bring this upward. I'm gonna take this now and use the C for cutter, cut this piece through. Hit okay. Then I can get this piece out of here. Take this, delete it. And I can take this piece here now just kind of basically select it and extrude it to give it some thickness. I'm doing that just to kind of give a filler inside, basically. There we go. Now take this piece, move this up, right underneath the other piece. This will give it a nice, like I will create that effect that we just had with that inner piece. And we can also do this. Let's just go ahead and do MK. I'm going to make this more of a black color, okay. And that looks good. Now we can unhide these. I think that looks really sharp. The only thing that I see that is a little bit of a problem is, again, we have this inner piece that I just looks like it's going to nothing, right? We need to fix that as well. So now that we've got this piece. Okay, so let's continue. Okay. Let's go first with this, hide this. I'm actually going to now select this piece here. I'm doing this for just simple ease shift, shift. I'm going to bring this completely down. Quite a bit, just like that. And I'm doing that just to make it easier. So go to the side here. We can actually take say, Okay, we take this piece now, select this and hide it. We're going to go now and do an edge, and we're going to select this whole piece right here like that. All right. Now we're going to use the control key and select each of these lines that are not needed to be selected. It's just an easier way to make this work. We're going to go back and readjust in a minute. Let's just go closer. We're going to do something like that. This one. This one. What the objective here is to kind of deselect all these. So it's just much easier to. There's quite a few there. We can make sure that we have these rounded ones selected. Okay, something like that. This. Again, these are like little sections, same thing. Just got to go around and kind of just clean it up. Alright, a little bit over here. Control key. Continue to select it. This doesn't look right, of course, but that's right. Almost there. All right. C more. We're going to go back and fix the extrusion here, of course. I think we got it all now. Just make sure you get them all selected properly. Now we're going to hit the Biki where's it at? Right over here. Again, we're just going to give a little bit of an edge just so we can get nice lighting on it. Again, it could just be a chamfer. It's real simple chamfer. Want to do something like this. Let's see how it looks. Again, we do not want to do actual fillet. It'll be a lot more, you know, polygons. And just having that extra edge here will give us a nice lighting on the edge. It's to take a minute here. It's quite a few. Pauses until it comes back. Okay, so I just finished and I'm going to zoom out a little bit and see how this looks. Again, like I said, you're not going to really see much of that. However, that one little extra polygon edge will really make a difference on the lighting. It just stand out a lot more. So yeah, I'm good with that. It said, Okay. And there we go. That's it for that. Another thing that I'm going to do here is, again, we had this earlier, but I need to take this whole thing now and move it back upward. There's no reason for this, as well as this and we'll just bring this back. I think that looks nice. It's not too. It's just steep enough. It has an edge to it. And Perfect. So what I'm going to do here as well, I'm going to take this line. Since I created this earlier, this one right here. First of all, let it finish what it was doing. Okay. I need to go in and now select this line. So this one here, shift, shifty. And what I'm going to do here cancel, actually. I want to just go ahead and hit the Giki here and move this downward. Giki. Move it down just like this. Now, I'm going to go ahead and select this and just extrude this upward. I just want to give it some thickness to it. Now I've done that. I want to just just use this to gK bring it up just a little bit, just so we can have a nice section between. We don't want that, we can now go here, hide this. We can also go here. Hide that. Let's go and unhide these pieces here, this one here. Alright, so that looks a lot better. Yeah, there we go. Much better. It's a little tricky in there. 7. SanDisk Creating Charging Section 6: Okay, so in this part, we're actually going to be creating this intersection, as well as this piece that goes around with this nice coloration. And here we go. Okay, so now we got to work the actual plug, as well as the logo. So this is something that we would be working on, and that logo is basically the image that we had earlier. I'm going to bring that image up so that I can actually bring it into place. So we can select the actual object selection, key and bring it up. This should be pretty simple to do. I definitely going to be a little bit of work, but we'll get it done. Another thing about this disc is that we have a certain thing that goes in here. If you see the side here, it's right here, this is the actual part of it that is supposed to be the piece, the inner piece. Now, I need to make sure that we have something that looks like it belongs here. I do have another image here that I'll bring in to show you what it looks like. I'm going to go to the side here. And we'll go here, again, bring this in Import cable Back image. That's the one I wanted. We're going to use this to help us drive the right look here. This one I'm going to move back a little bit so we can see what we're doing. See how this is rotated around. It's the piece of this. We got to make sure that we're going to actually use this to help us drive the orange and we'll fix that in a minute. We can take this one and hide actually, it was this escape. We're going to take this one, hide, and we're going to take this one and bring it forward, G, all the way into the front, and I'm going to do a actual MK. We're going to bring this down just a little bit. Okay. This will help us make sure that we line up everything perfectly. I'm going to use the GK, bring this upward. We're going to line this up with this. Yeah, this is a little sharper on this end, but I'm okay with that. It's going to be really hard to see that. It's real simple. This one's going to be simple as it can be. I'm just going to bring a line all the way across. Make sure it's straight. Right click, GK, and we're just going to bring it straight down right to it lines up with that line. Just like that. I'm going to do a shift D and again, bring it down, and we're going to form it right there. This way, this object can be divided. First of all, going to select this one, go to the side, Ski, and we're going to use these two here to cut it. Let's do the skin. This one. See, I'm going to use this and this and we're going to hit Okay. What that has done has given us this. Again, I want to make sure that we emulate the look of this. So now that I got that selected, I'm going to hit the key, select the color, select this, and I'm going to go right over this color here, which is this reddish color and do that. Now, one thing I don't like is that this also got captured so one more thing to do before we go too far. This here is also that is the solid 2,000, right? I want to make sure this object here is the 2,100. K, I don't think I got the right one earlier. And we're going to do this. Okay. One other thing we need to do is look at this. A. What does it show here, seven and no metalness. So we want to make sure that this piece is MK, no metalness, a little bit up. Okay, first of all, I'm going to take this piece here. Right click. Well, actually, we're going to escape. Right click. Here. We're going to remove material. Here, we're going to remove material. So now this and this, so this is solid 1,200, and this is going to be this color. It's a little different. I don't like the fact that's not right. So we're going to go back in here and do it again. K color picker, and we're going to select this one right here. That's a little bit better. It actually fits right now. Hit Okay. Gonna go here one more time. MK. We got seven and zero. So let's go here. K, this is seven and zero. And that way, it's exactly the same. This is its own color, and this is own color. So we can suck both of these. K. We can make this a little bit darker. Over here, no metalness. Again, it's more of a plastic look and hit okay. Let's go and take this now. We're going to g k, we're going to move this out of our way. I'm going to do this basically by eyeball to rotate it around so I can see what I'm doing with this here, and I think I'll skill this up a little bit and move it over a little bit more so I can get it close to where I'm working. When I'm actually working on this, I can have a better understanding. This is your bottom and this is the bottom. I need to formulate something like that. So to do this right, I'm going to now go to the square with the center section. I'm going to go in here, actually have selected. I'm going to select right there basically bring this down. It needs to be about that high. I think about right about maybe about right there. I'm actually shrink that down a little bit more. Shrink Ski, just like that. Cool. I'm going to take these points here and select those two. And I'm going to make sure that this is rotated similar to what's there. So I'm going to pull this out. Kind of like that. All right. So now what we can do here is I'm going to take this line here and move it hike, and we're going to bring it all the way down. I do not want to really do much to this. I think I want to the okay. I'm going to take this here. So I'm going to hide this for now. Hide. Ma use this line, help me direct. I need to put a unit like this here. So we're going to just make this real simple. Again, here, I'm going to go right to the center of this. I'm going to do something like I'm going to bring it in a little bit more, a little bit too big. Something like this. Hit the points. These four, just like this. And we're going to use the Biki and we're going to make this nice and round. Kind of like this. Real close. It's almost like it's perfectly rounded, okay? All right. That looks good. So now that I've got this line, I'm going to bring this down with the GikiKna right about here. Okay. So let's go with that. So now I'm going to take this and extrude it. Aki into the space, okay? Gk we're going to bring this back a little bit. Kind of like this. All right, cool. So now I'm going to take this here. And we're going to use this and we're going to do a and we're going to keep object. Now I'm going to take this and this q. This time, we're not going to keep object. We're going to say, Okay. Kind formed the inner piece here. Something to keep in mind though we still need to go around this piece and kind of make it like this metal support thing. Okay. So good way to do that would be to use both of these shapes to help us with that. All right. So we got this the way we want. I'm going to take this now and go to the side. I'm going to hit the GK, I'm going to line this up perfectly with that one. Make sure this is lined up properly. I want to make sure that this lines up perfectly. So it's a little bit off, as you can see. I want to take this one, G. I need to make it a little bit closer. Right. If you get close enough, it works. One thing I'm going to do here just to make sure that this stuff connects properly is I'm going to recombine this together with this one. I need to make sure that this is the same color. So we're going to. So right here, I'm going to go right click, remove material. And this one, right click, remove material. So now I can combine these together again. So Q Q. It okay. It's now one. We got two objects here, but that's all right. We can take this last one here. This one, delete it. Now, we got one object. Okay. This will work much better now. All right, so what we can do now is that we can bind these together. I'm gonna take this here and extrude this in just like this. And this will be cutting into this. So let's just do this. So first of all, this shift, and I'm going to hit Okay. Now we can take this one here, so delete it just like that. So now we got these kind of combined with this. Now if I go here, I need to unhide the curve that we did earlier. This will be we want to make sure we get the right line. All right. So if we can't find it, let's go ahead and go back to the images. And let's go ahead and hide these and we want to go to the side here. This is the one. Hi. Right here. I need this to cut the whole thing now, actually. I want this one and this one. Si key, select this, hit Okay. What that has done it actually taken this now and separated it out from that one. This one I can hide this for now. This one needs to be connected. So to do that, we're gonna hit Q, Q. Hit Okay. Go ahead and select it now and see what that looks like. Et's see if there's any extra objects here. Sometimes you get an extra object. I think this is fine. It's kind of like right here. It's kind of its own thing here. Let's just delete that, right? Now, we just got one object. Okay. And now we can redo the color. So the object. We're going to do the same as this. A key. I like this, like this. To go over here. Just like that. Over here, take this all the way down to zero. And this was nine, I think. Just like that, okay. All right, so now it's this om situation here. And we can go back. And let's go ahead and take these out of here, hide, and see how this looks. Select all these item. Okay, got those all hidden. Let's go back here. Alright, so another thing we need to do is this right here. We go select this with key. The whole thing selected, and let's pull this out a little bit with the plus. Just to give it a nice little edge there. Okay? And again, Alt key here, Alt key. And this will give it a nice little form as well. So again, pull this out a little bit on the plus. Just a smidgen. Just to give it a little bit of variation. So it looks like, you know, it's a joint part. I think right there it's fine. Yeah, that looks nice. Okay. So a few things that we can fix in here would be this piece here. We kind of bring this back until it actually hits. We also need to make sure that we put an inner piece in here that's more of a metal piece, which is right in here. See this metal piece here, we're going to form that as well. Let's just do that real quickly. The best way to make sure that we do this inner piece is that I would definitely go in here and just select this outer piece here, the Alt key that way I get pretty much all the way around, see it went all the way through. Again, it's a little bit bigger than the inner piece, but that's okay. We can just do a shift here. Then I can move this out because it becomes one piece. Again, just real simple this way. I would take this here and then do a shift J to create an actual inner piece here. And then what we can do is go here, hit Okay. We can actually now hide this edge here with H. Go ahead and go with the line over the actual surface here, and we can do ok here. And this way, we can just kind of pull this out. If it doesn't go, you got to go to the side. See, it's kind of like a little difficult to move sometimes. Just go a little bit in. You're just going to give a little bit of thickness. Not too much about right about there, right? Then I'm going to take this piece right here. Hit Okay. First of all, select this one. You got to make sure it goes in the right direction. So go to the face here. Again, hit the EKF key and make sure that this goes straight straight. The red line, just like that. Hit Okay. And now it is perfectly aligned right. And then we can hit the Gk here and move it into place. So it actually goes right in just like that. Hit Okay. And now we can select this piece right here and just delete. It. Yeah, that's pretty simple. And we could actually close the back of this in a second here. I want to make sure that this is the only thing geeky, move it out. I could go in here and just kind of move this out a little bit more. Slcked it. First of all, I hit okay. Suck this. I'm just going to use this to kind of keep pushing it through, just like that. Hit okay. A lot farther. Say, Okay. Make sure, okay, it's hit, and now we can actually move this whole thing inward. That way, it completely goes into place, right? Just like that. And now we got a form within the form, and there we go. This one will be an I'm going to make this more of a metal, kind of a little bit of a kind of a darker yellow this metal. I want to make this completely metal. And roughness, I'll bring it down. And I can bring this down a little bit more. More of a brownish kind of I think that looks good. The specific section here, hit, I'm going to make this more of a lighter gray because it's more lighter than the other part. I'm going to bring this down just a smidgen about there. Again, I could put the reflection a little bit on there, that's good. Then I'm going to hit this section here and this section here. Again hit the T I'm going to make this a little bit darker. I think that will look nicer because this is the outer piece. Yeah, that looks a lot better. And now that we've gotten all this and we got that. So the only thing we need to do now is we need to work the actual logo, and that's the next step. 8. SanDisk Create the Main Logo Section 7: Okay, so the next part is we're going to create the sand disc logo, similar to the existing here and let's have some fun here. And I'm going to actually unhide the front piece and narrative. So we're going to immolate this sand disc. Now, I don't like. It's kind of too small, this sand disc. I think I have a better version of this. So I'm going to bring that. Alright, so the main logo here is kind of hard to read when you zoom in, right? So I'm going to bring it in a separate one. I'm going to leave that alone for night now, but I'm going to bring this other one in. Again, I took this from the website. I actually zoomed in on the logo itself just to make it a little bit better. So I went with a SanDisk logo. And again, it's bigger than that one, right? So I'm going to scale this down and just bring it out here. I'm going to bring it up with the Giki and just put it up here on top. Again, let's go back to this I'm going to hit the key so I can see what I'm doing. Bring this down just a little bit. This way, when I sce this down, I can do it right. S, bring it inward just like that. GK, we bring it down a little bit. We're trying to line this up so it kind of fits the right location. And I'm good with that. Now I got this. I could take this one here and just hide it. Don't need that. This is what we're going to go with. All right, so we're going to go ahead and now make a special basically logo that looks really clean and really nice. I'm going to show you a quick way to do that in the right way. I brought in my other image, which I brought in that's actually a little bit more high resolution and shrunk it down to fit into this space. I'm basically going to hide this one now. I'm just going to leave this here. I don't want any other objects on this screen at all because it's just going to get in your way it's better just to work on a flat surface. That way, everything we create will be on the same level and easy to connect everything properly. So let's get started here. All right, so we're going to start with the easiest one first and work our way around, so we get the hang of this. I'm going to go over here and create this e. It's pretty much squared off throughout the whole thing, so it's simple to create. So we're going to start right here. Again, I want to make sure that I bring this in and have a full just a really nice, section here. Again, I'm going to continue to build this out with here guessing the most I can. With this logo, it's a little bit, blurry, but that's okay. So we can go here. Here. Again, we could readjust after we're done with all this, here, here, here, we're going to continue to drive this upward, just to make sure we get a really nice looking object here. Let's just go up. You see that this is a little bit off right there, so we can go in here and just say, geeky and move it. Now, to make sure it's straight, if we just go a little bit like that, pretty much done with that. B just a little bit more. Kind of like that. There we go. All right, so really simple, we're going to take these four here, hit the B key, and we're going to move this inward like this. So it has a nice form. I'm also just going to go like here because this is real simple to do. B. I just kind of makes sure everything's more rounded, not the negative, but the plus. So we get a nice, very, very smooth transition there. And again, I think that looks really nice. I think that works out great. So that's one. So we got the first object created. Now we got really like, one, two, three, four, five, five more to go. Because this is this own one big one. But anyway, here we go. So now let's go ahead and focus on the K, which is another easy object to work with. And again, we're going to go right over to here kind of close to the edge, and we're going to bring it right there, bring it down, bring it up across. Again, just trying to get as much of these existing forms as I can. I'm trying to get to the edge of this. I might have to readjust this one, but that's okay. Down down. This one's going to go up a little bit in Again, we're going to go here, just trying to emulate as best as we can up across. Do want to go too far with this one. I have to get a little closer here. Now, these are a little bit low, but that's all right. Here, here and here. All right. So again, let's focus in on the points. This one could go in a little bit more toward the edge here. Just like that. I think that these would be a better, a little bit moved in, like that. W here, okay. These as well, the cheeky, move them out a little bit. Geeky right there. That's good as well. Then these two cheeky. Great. Now let's make this all smooth as well. I'm going to take all these. And these two and these two, these are all similar in the way they're shaped. I'll hit the Biki and I'm getting a pull this out on the plus, so I get a nice smooth transition, and I'm good with that. Now we can select this one, Biki, kind of move this over the plus. Is a nice edge and this one too, Biki. This is a little bit more difficult there that corner. These two can be the same time, BekiPull this out a little bit on the plus. Kind of like right about there, okay. And then we could also focus in on this one. B. Again, we're going to make this kind of into a nice plus or smooth term right there. Beki there. This one as well. B. What I'm going to do is I'm going to do them all first before I actually go back in and kind of start pushing them into the space. I just think it's going to look much nicer that way and easier to understand what we're doing here. I'm going to go plus. Like that, okay? Yeah, that looks really nice and sharp. So good with that one. All right, so next one, we're going to focus on the S, and we got two Ss that are very similar. This is a little bit more squish than this one, but that's okay. We're going to use that to help us drive a nice looking shape. So let's go ahead and go in here. And again, used one line here, just like that. I think we're going to go right about here and right click. We're going to do Shift D, and we're going to move this over, bring this down, and we're going to put this in place right about here. Great. All right, so looking good there, I'm going to also move this up a little bit because again, it needs to go up Giki get right to the edge of this and hit Okay. All right. So now we're going to start creating the roundness of this whole thing. So we're going to put a couple more lines here to kind of help us drive this perfectly. I'm going to bring this one out here. Right click. Again, this one here over here, right click. And that way, we have these forms kind of started. And I think that's going to be great. Now we're going to take these and connect them with the JK Again, they're perfectly lined up together, so Jake that causes no problems, there we go. Let's go ahead and now use the actual spine curve. We're going to use this to help us drive this around, and I'm going to just slowly use this curvature to help drive this. Now, it's not working too well right here, so I can just drop one there. Drop one there here. Again, just got to take your time when creating the stuff, so the forms start to come together right there and right there. Now we got this connected. We can select these two, join them. Again, these two join. Yeah, I think this is going to look really nice. So let's go hit points. And in here, I can just smooth this out just a little bit with the Giki this over a little bit, bring it out a little bit. And what we can do now is just take these two here, B ki and just put a nice fill up there. That's the negative, we want to make sure it's on plus and hit okay. There we go. And these as well. Beiki, nice and clean, like that. There we go. Now it's come together and then we can form this er piece. Again, we're going to use the splinur. We're going to try to use this section here as much as we can without to go with the tab. If I go to tab, I have to actually clean up a lot of stuff as well. I'm trying to just get to the shapes I need. Going to start this curve here, this one. This one and this one. Now, we got these, we can select them and join them. Sames before and perfect lines up. Now if I would have put a bunch of objects here, I could have been up and down on my lines. It's really good to use a flat surface area here to work this stuff. Here we're going to go with the Biki start off with a nice curve here. Again, here's pull this out. I just trying to make it nice and clean. I think that looks really nice. Now that we've gotten this, we can just go in here and just copy this. Shift D, and I'm going to hit this and bring it over here to the side. Now I'm definitely going to scale this down because it's way too big. Hit the S twice and kind of just get the edges kind of lined up here. I'm going to move this over a little bit more kind of right there, move this down into the place here. Now, again, it's not going to be perfect, but we're going to scale down just a little bit more just like that. Giki move it down. And a couple of things I would do to make it a little bit better is go to points, and we can actually just take these here, eke them, and just move them over a little bit. I probably shouldn't have done this one. Geek, this back because it just looks much better together like that. So what I can do here as well is take these here. We'll go with these three. GK was over a little bit as well, just like that. Then these four here, G. I'm just trying to get these closer to the existing locations that it shows. Now, this one can probably drag just a little bit. It's really easy to move stuff with this program, so we can get in there and just kind of just make the forms a little bit better. Again, I tried to do my best I could with eyeing it, but it's looking better now that I'm actually maneuvering these things. I got a much better turn there. Here as well. I think I'll bring this down a little bit more. Yeah, that looks really good. We're getting closer. We got the ISK, we got the S, and now we got to do the ND together and A, so I got two more to go. Okay, let's start with the next the hardest one, I think. I would like to go at this one. Now, keep in mind that I'm going to use the line t here because I got some areas that are very squared off, which is fine. And this will kind of help drive the right shapes. So if I'm going to go straight out here, I want to make sure that this goes straight up, right? So I'm going to go about here, straight down. I'm going to have to move that now that I've noticed that and move this inward up to here, here. Again, I'm just trying to kind of get a nice curvature. I'm going to go a little bit farther in here and just go straight across just like that. Down. Again, I'm going to try to use everything I can in here to kind of just use the existing forms to kind of just use my lines. If I don't have to go and do a lot of work with the rotated lines or spine curves, it's just that much better, but sometimes you do have to go back and fix things. And I'm going to go here, just like this. And here. I'm going to go right here, here, and then back again, and then down. I'm doing the inner part here. That's fine. Again, I could go way out here. I want to go right there, right there, straight up. Again, this is just a real simple way to do it. See, some of these will work. Sometimes the shapes are completely different, so you can't really use this method, but we're going to have some cheese right here. I have a feeling, but that's okay. Let's go ahead and now adjust these two Giki a little bit upward, right to the edge there, okay. And I think here as well, I'm going to get both of these, G, bring it down a little bit like that. All right. That looks good. And these have to go out. G, bring these out right to the edge of this. Now, again, I might to go back in and kind of reach some things, but that's okay. This good in now focusing on these edges right here and these edges here, we have the shift key. Bunny e This one as well. These two, and I'm good with that. So hit the Beki. We're trying to do as many as we can, so it's faster, just like that. And now we got those. We can do these down. This one is the same as those two on the other side. And this one as well. So Biki try to do multiple things if I can just to kind of save some time. There we go, okay. So now, a few things that are really critical is this turn right here. Can I get away with it? That's the question. So BikiPull it out kind of like at an angle, right? This is a very smooth angle. I think that looks good. Here, Bekim going to go more of a short run, and I think that looks good. So in all reality, that worked. I'm not sure about these. I might have to bring these up a little bit more just to kind of get this in to work, right there. So again, I'm going to have to move this over a little bit, I think. Let's go right about here because what I'm trying to do is really focus in on this curve right here. So B, I'm going to cut across just like that. Here, B, pull this out and it's starting to come together. Okay. And in here, I'm going to use these two and see if we can get this to work. We still have that line there, and I'm going to move over just a little bit just like that. Just to give a nice smooth rotation, and I think that came out really nice. And here's what B. Sometimes you want to go with this type method, sometimes you don't. It just depends on what's coming out of what you're creating. So here, again, I'm going to use the B ki and kind of use a big pull here to really pull inward to get a nice shape. Again, here again, B, and if it works good, great. If not, then we might have to go backwards, but I think that looks good. Okay? Again, this is really close. Bekim going to go opposite, like that. That looks nice and this one as well. Beki. As long as you got enough room to make these work, then it's great. See that came out really nice. I think everything looks very smooth and it was very simple to do, really. All right, so we got all these. We just need to work on the Anw, so let's continue. Okay, so let's focus on the A now. A is again, there are some lines that we can work with. Like for instance, we can go from right here, work your way down to here to here to here, and then straight across to here to here to here, again, down again and across and pretty much right to about here. So that will work. I'm also going to go with a line here all the way across to about here, straight down, and we're going to go to here, here and here, down again and back. So hopefully this works. We'll see. So I'm going to take these and join them. Jake, And let's go and start working it now. So we're going to go with these two here and move it up a little bit with a GK. I need to get right to that edge there, and let's see if I can get this one to work. So Biki that came out really nice, so I'm good with that. Again, it just depends on your angles and stuff. So Biki I think that looks nice. BH on the plus. Okay. Now, this might be a problem, but we'll have to see. So we're going to hit the B key here and see if we can get that nice rotated curve there. It worked. Let's try this one. B. This one is going to be a problem. Unless I stick with that same shape, it's okay if it's a little bit off. Like I said, you're not going to really notice that. It looks very similar. So B, which is like that, hit okay. Let's see if we can get these other shapes to work. So B. That looks nice. Here again, B. Yeah, that came out really nice. Continue with this. All right, so there's a few areas that are kind of difficult, which is here, here, here. I think this one would be easy actually This won't be a problem. Let's just do a small rotation, see if this will work, Beki trying to get this to come out. That looks nice. That was not a problem. Now, again, I'm going to have to take this one here and B and see if I can get this to come and come out. It does look nice. I'm more worried about this piece. Let's try these two pieces here. Beki and try to make them smooth. The problem is this line is too close. You try something like that, see how that looks, but I don't like the way this shape is coming out, so I'm going to take this one here, get and move this in a little bit like this. Just like that. Then I can take these here, Giki and move them up a little bit. I can scale this in a little bit. All right. I'm good with that. All right, so we can take this now and just hit the take these two, actually. Giki bring it down just a little bit. I think that's going to look better. I think this one's a little bit more than that one because these line up with that center of that dot. Like that, there we go. This form is going to be complicated because again, I don't really have a good form here. We could try this. Let's see if we can get this to work. See, it's definitely not going to work. If I hit the GK or once I make these two lines, see if I can bring this up and see if it comes out nice or not. It's all about what we think is right. I think this can go down a little bit more and it doesn't look bad. I think he ki, I'm going to go with that right there. I think that A looks nice. When I create this and extrude it, it should look really nice. Go back to the top. I think everything's smooth here. The only thing is now, I got to work this here, so again, I'm going to bring this straight down, kind of like this, like this. Again, right about there and I'm about there. So we can start working this now with the Biki. This is going to be more of a rotation there. Okay, Biki. We're going to make this nice and smooth like that. Beki that looks nice. And then one more. Beiki. And this would be just a small rotation. Yeah, I think that came out really nice. So now we got them all. So great. So now the fun part will be to take these, all of them. And this piece to this piece, this piece. What we're going to do now is that we've got these all worked out. We're going to extrude this out. We're going to bring this down like this. Hit the ok button, and then we can select these edges here, select all these and just hide those are out of my way. I go back here and hide this. Now, I do need to bring these up and hit the ike on the side here and just bring them upward. I want to get these out of the way. There we go. All right, so I hit this object, and I'm going to use this now to help bring in that logo. The logo is basically I just hit it just so we can see what we're doing. I'm going to go ahead now and hide all these parts and we're ready to go. I'm going to select all these here with the object selection right here and make sure they're all selected. I'm going to hit the GK and just bring these down into this space. See how it cut right through this and it's almost all the way through. I would just go pretty much right there, it's fine. It doesn't have to go all the way through because again, we're going to use a certain technique here. You see how these are just missing all that, which is great. This is really, really close, but it still misses it in this one too. That's good. We can go now and just select hit first, we moved all those, select it. We're going to do let me get this out of the way. What we're going to do is actually we're going to select this now and I'm going to select these. Let's go and select the K, and we're going to use the Q k give it a second. See how it cut into that? I'm going to hit the shift cube and give it a second to think what it's doing because there's a lot of data here. That's why it's slow. You're going to hit Okay. Now that's done after it's doing the calculation, we can go back and fix it. Let's go now, get rid of this piece on top, delete it. Now we have our k. Perfect. Same thing here. Take this one and do both Ss, see if we can get away with it. First, this one, shift hoops. Shift, shift, Q. Give it a second. See how cut it. Hit okay. But first off, shift Q because we're going to emulate that on top. Now that it's done, hit okay. Give it a minute to think about what it's doing. Again, it goes through a process. I just got to take our time, don't rush it if you decide not to do that, the last second, it's going to fail. Delete this one and delete this one. Cool. Same thing again, select select these two. Q, give it a minute. And there it goes. Then we're going to do Shift Q. Let's go through the calculation, hit Okay, and give it a minute. It takes a few minutes to go through this process. Not a big deal. There we go. Now we can take this one, delete it, and this one delete. Now, you know, everything's working right when they have the piece different insight. So again, select this one and we'll go with this one. Make sure we get selected shift. Actually you select this one first. Which is solid four and this one. Your solids might be different names so be aware of that. Q, give it a second. All right. And then shift Q and go through the calculation again and it's done. Hit okay? Give it a minute. So you can see the bullyin calculation here. Once it's done, it'll tell you. All right. That's it. So at. One more. This one. This one, Q. Again, shift. Let's go through the process one more time. Done. One more calculation, and we're done with that. All right. Let's select this and delete it. Now what we can do here just to make it look right is taking these sections here and just moving them down just a little bit and that will help give it the feeling that it's dug into this thing. Bring it down just a smidgen right about there. Okay. Great. Now we've done that. Let's go and do a few more things here. So suck this. Do an alt key and make sure it goes all around. Shift, Alt again, all the way around. And this one, too. Stuck that one. This is all the outer edge stuff. Again, make sure it goes all the way around. Same thing here, here, here, and that we all around. If there's a problem with a hard edge, then it won't work right. That's why you want to make sure everything's smooth. Hit the Bike and there it is right there. Let's just pull this out a little bit. Live it on a plus. Less is too much. We go right about there. I think that looks good, okay. There we go. Now it's looking really sharp. You got your sand disc logo exactly where it needs to be and it came out really nice. Continue. That's really it for creating this actual object. Now, what I'm going to do next is I'm going to actually go in here and just make sure I slip these I'm going to just give him a color. Now, if you look at this image here, you can see that it's more of a light color, which it is now, but it's going to hit the empty. I'm going to actually make this more metal. I want to be shiny like it's metal piece. Going to bring this down to maybe ten. Also take this and just bring it upward like that. It's a light gray, and hit okay. Now we can take this and hide it. Let's take away the lines and see how that looks. We're going to fix a little thing in here, which is not a big deal, but I just want to hide this orange here, doesn't make sense. I'm going to go in here and just select these here, hide them. I'm going to go back to the back of this and basically select this edge here, Alt I'm going to hit the shift J to do that. Now that I got that, I'm going to go ahead now and just select this this. We might even take this off here so I can see what I'm doing because sometimes you can't tell if you got everything selected or not. We got to get these over here and this one and this one. Those, let's get a little closer, there we go. Now we got the whole thing selected. I can make sure that instead of having a sheet there, I could just make sure I select this. Those have the Ek and bring this out a little bit and this will give it a form at that. So I'm going to do this. What I could do here just to make it look nicer is take this and this and I'm going to hit the MK I want to make this a dark color. This way it blends in properly. I need this here. I don't care about this. Hit There we go. Take this back. I'm soping and delete this little piece right here. There we go. Now that looks better. Now we can then hide these other parts of the object. Hide this one. Let's try this one. Take this here and move it, G. I'm going to bring it inward, just like that. This way it's passed it and it solves all those problems. There we go. We can take this one now, hide it. Hide, hide. Right. It's looking really nice. All right, so a couple more things we need to do is I need to actually add in a sand disc on the other side. So one way to do that is to go in and just select these. We're going to just make a copy, and I'm going to rotate them basically. So I'm going to go to the front here or yeah, the I'm going to hit Shift D and I'm going to bring this down just like that. Now I'm going to maneuver this just like this we have here, but I'm going to rotate it now. I'm going to go 180 degrees the opposite way. Makes you type it in. There we go. We hit hike to bring it into the space just like we did before and now we got it all lined up. Now, the thing we can do here is to take it the ok first. Select this. Now let's select these other ones. Hit the shift key. We're just going to do them at one time if we can. I hit the cue key here. Shift e I did what it needs to do, let it go ahead and do now its part and see if it's going to go to the bullying. No, it's fine. Now I can go in here, select these top sections here. Like this and delete. There we go. Now that we've gotten this, we can go in and we can change the colors. First of all, I'm going to stuck everything. Just hit the iki a little bit and just bring it down to the smidgen just to give it a little bit of depth here. And so going to look at the other images here and see what we got. This is the same thing. It's shining. This is more of a black. Let's make this more of a black or more of this. I think I'm going to go here first and do darken this down just a smidgen like that. This one will be number 13. This one here, we're going to do. This, hit the I drop and we're going to go 13 right there and double click on that. Here we go. Now we have the back end and the front end. Now, one couple of things we need to do is I'm going to go here first and hit the MK again. This is 00.15. Let's see what we got on this one, zero on 0.15. M zero and 0.15, we bring this down just a little bit. It okay. There you go. Now, not sure if I did this right, so I'm going to go ahead and select this. I want this to be exactly even. We can see where this is at. I'm just going to select right here. I want to make sure that when this is turned on, I'm going to do here to here, and then we'll hit the center of this right here. That's your central point. Again, I think it's a little bit off, this is not working. I do not want to touch that now. I just want to go straight up. See how this is light wind. If you go back to this top here, I'm going to actually just use a line to help pine this up. I'm going to go straight across. Again, I'm going to make sure that just form this properly right about here. That should be where the sand disk is. Let's go ahead now and Q k, move this down, and then we get it, we can go back to this side, top view and you see that it is off to fix this, we're going to go ahead and take these. I want to take this off so I can see what I'm doing. Sometimes you got to just work it. Jacki, I'm going to move this whole thing this way. Just like that, okay? We can hide this for now. Now I can go ahead and select. This shift, shift, shifts. This, this, select each of these inner pieces. Let's see if we can get this to work. GK again, we're going to move this over just a little bit. How are we going to get this to work? We're going to select everything here. Go back to the top view. I'm going to go ahead and do this. I'm going to deselect all this with the control key. All right. Let's see if we can also deselect all this. Just like that. Okay. Can we move this now? Let's see what we can do. Geeky. Yes, we can. Sweet. All right. Another thing we can do here is before I go back to this. Gi, we just went backwards. Yes. Okay, yeah, that worked out really good. I got everything fit back into space here. I think this is one of the only ones I need to fix. It was hit okay. Let's go now and fix this edge here. Hit the shift Alt. Get it all selected, shiftt again, shift shift shift, getting closer and this one here. All right. Now I've got all these selected. I'm going to hit the Biki I'll see where the line is right over here. We're going to pull this out just a little bit, just to give a nice round. I like that. Okay. Again, we can select this, this one, this one, one, this one. I need to fix this one here though. Let's hit the GK. We're going to move this all up. Make sure we hit the blue and get it real close there. There we go. Hit okay. I need to also now go in here and fix this. This is simple. We're going to select it Shift D. I'm going to hit the extrude and we'll bring this inward, hit Control Z. Actually, I'm going to hit the Shift D. I bring this upward, okay. I'm going to make sure I select the surface and now extrude. There we go. This way, it'll make the form, just like that, and we can go in here, select this and dilate it. Select this with the key. Again, we're going to do something similar to what we had there, more of a fill it there, just like that. We can take this here and move it into place just like that. S to be about the same height. Ok select this here, delete it. All right. Now we got this all done. We can go back in. I got to make sure I select this. This would be really black, and I need to take this one here. We're going to hit the T color and we're going to go right to this black one here. There we go. Okay. What we can also do here selected again, zero and 0.15. It's going to say, 0.15 is zero, let's go here. This is zero, and this is 0.15, just like that. That weight all matches perfectly. Yeah, that looks nice. It looks too black to me, but I want more of this color here. This solid 13 is what I want. Here ink color. I'm going to go to solid 13. Just like that. There we go. We can now set the lines and hide these things. Hi. Take this off. Take the lines off. Let's see how this looks. We'll go something like this, get rid of this. That looks sharp, real simple to do. Again, that's pretty much it for this build. Okay. 9. SanDisk Images of your Work Section 8: Part of the overall learning requirements in this class is to show your progress as you're creating this fun sand disk drive. And you can either just do an actual shading of this model within plasticity itself and print screen as one option, or you can bring it into your favorite three D program and render it. And of course, it would be great to see all your work, so we'll see how your progress is growing. All right. Thank you. And as a reminder, if you can please rate your overall experience of this class. It helps me develop to get better at what I do and to have better classes for all these students that are watching this. So please submit your actual overall rating. I really appreciate the help on that. Thank you. Yeah, thanks for joining me, and please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be glad to answer anything you might have. Alright, thanks. Take care.
