1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Alan Edwards and I've been in the radio broadcast industry for over 30 years. I've been doing news. I was a DJ and I also do voiceover and all my training and expertise. I put together a class that'll teach you from the very beginning how to become a voice-over artist. We start with vocal exercises to script reading, to creating a demo, to even creating a studio from scratch for free. Believe it or not, I'm going to teach you step-by-step how to create a voice-over studio for absolutely no cost. We then get into marketing yourself, getting gigs and just getting follow-up feedback and increasing your experience. Voiceover. From start to finish. I'm going to teach you how to become a voice-over artist. And then you develop in craft your career every year to come. This voice-over class is for beginners, but it's also great for people that have already done voice-over and are looking for some trade secrets. Things that I do and I've done for many years that I'm going to share with you. It also includes a lot of documentation that you can just keep on your phone. It's a great class to take and you'll learn from beginning to end the career of voice-over. So join me, get the class, jump right in, and let's learn the craft and trade of voice-over. 2. Vocal Exercises: Alright, the first thing we're gonna do, we're gonna jump right in and its vocal exercises warming up your voice and just your presence. When you become a voice-over artist, you're going to learn that this is invaluable Before you read scripts and it's a must do. This is something that you can't pass up on because it's something that kinda gets you in the groove, in the move and kinda gets you to become a different person. Because once again, you are a voiceover. The keyword is actor. So you've got to become somebody and the warm-up routine and the exercise is kinda helps you do that. So what I did, and what you'll notice as a part of this class is it comes with PDF documents. The best thing to do is load these documents inside your smartphone. That way, no matter where you are, you can do these vocal exercises and you can do that practice scripts. All of this will be right at your disposal anywhere that you are. One of the things I'm going to go off of is the vocal exercise PDF. Now there's quite a few of these steps. I believe there's like ten of them. And we're gonna go through a few of them. And some of the things that I do at the beginning. So really just open these PDF files in your phone and they're there all the time. So you have the stretch and warm up. You have the Yan that psi technique. Humming warm-ups, the vocal straw, exercise, lip buzz, vocal warm-up, tongue trill, exercise, John, loosening exercise. You have the two octave pitch, glide warm up. You also have vocals, sirens, exercise, and the vocal slides technique. These are important, but I'm also going to share with you some of the things that I do to warm up. So really the first thing is, which is very important, is the stretch and warm up. What you do is you just stretch your neck and this is something that you're probably going to feel uncomfortable doing for the first time, especially if you're doing this stuff in public. Like if you're in a studio and you're doing some voice-over scripts for a company or whatever it may be, you're gonna have to warm up. And a lot of times there's maybe a room or something that you can go into and do these warm ups where they're not in front of a lot of people because you're going to feel uncomfortable doing these because they're kinda strange. And as I go through these, you're going to see what I'm talking about. You can also do this in your car just before you go into a studio or whatever you may be doing. Or if you're running a little bit late, just open up the warm-up script, go through these and you can do them in your car. So the first one that's very important too. And I do each and every time because it kinda gets me into the groove of things is the stretch and warm up. So basically what you do is you just stretch your neck, kinda go back-and-forth. And you loosen your body, just kinda shake out all your stiffness and you kinda just get into the motion of moving your head from side to side, rotate your shoulders and arms, shake your body, output yourself in ready mode. I guess that's what I was saying. You kinda just loosen up. And one of the things that's important to understand is you are a professional voiceover. So it would be the same thing as being a basketball player. Everybody warms up. They do their stretches with their legs and their arms, and they do some exercises. You're basically doing the same thing but it's revolving the mouth and the upper portion your head, you just kinda move everything around and get nice and loose and get ready to do your recording. Very important. That's probably the most important thing that you're gonna do and these vocal exercises. The next thing is what's called the yawn sigh technique. It's for quick vocal exercise. You simply yawn, take an air with your mouth closed, then exhale through your nose as if you are saying. So this will help you relax your voice and improve your range. So the yon exercises, basically what it says, It's almost like you're yawning. You just I know it looks kinda weird. And if you do this in front of people, they're going to say, what the **** are you doing? But it's a vocal exercise that helps. What it's doing is kind of loosening your mouth, kind of extending your mouth, kind of moving it around and getting your mouth ready to do vocal exercises. So everything that's described in your PDF file describes what you should be doing, like humming warm-ups. Humming is one of the best vocal warm-ups because it doesn't put a lot of strain on your vocal chords. Plus it helps put the tongue behind the bottom of your front teeth and hung up and down like the scale. So it just kinda like humming. Once again, you're warming up your vocal exercise. And you can also do it with your mouth closed. Um, it helps you with your breathing, your toning. So make sure that you're like doing the hum. When you do that, you can kinda feel that it's kind of conditioning your throat. So as you go through these warm ups, you're going to see exactly what you need to do like the vocal straw exercise. To perform this, you just put a straw in your mouth and do that same kind of humming, but you do it through the straw. You would kinda same thing through a stroke and it kinda helps you your breathing while you do that. Lip buzz, vocal warm-up. As far as vocal warm-ups go, lip buzz or lip trill, as it's sometimes called, is very simple. The goal is to make a motor boat sound by making your lips and vibrate. This kinda loosens up the lips, loosens up the mouth. So you just go. Once again, very strange. And when you do this for the first time, you're gonna think this seems so foolish, but it's kind of loosening up your lips. It's loosening up your mouth. And it kinda just get you ready to do vocal exercises. There's the tongue trill exercise, the same kind of thing. That tongue trill vocal exercise is difficult for some singers or voice-over artist. It involves curling your tongue and rolling your r's jaw loosening exercise. When you're doing vocal exercises, you want to drop your jaw lower. When you are just talking with your finger traced back alongside your jaw line from the chin to your ear. So you just kind of jaw loosening, just kinda open and close. You're just getting all these muscles and you're just loosening everything up to prayer for script reading. And it goes on and on your vocal siren exercises, you go up and down. Vocal slide technique. There's a lot of different things that you do with these vocal exercises. It's really, one of the most important parts of this course, is being able to get ready, Loosen, and prepare for the script reading. One of the things I also do, and it's not in there, but I kinda just loosen everything up. Get your jaw already. Kinda move around. Open and close your mouth. Do the the lip curl. Open and stick your tongue out. Once again, very strange and it looks ridiculous, but all loosen up. Your muscles. Get your muscles ready and get your tongue ready. Get your throat ready for vocal exercises. Do that every day. Even if you're not going to read a script or if you're not ready to do vocal exercises, it's good to get your mouth ready. Get loosened up, shake everything off. Just get into the motion of getting ready to do your vocal scripts. So try it out, work on it, do it every day. Get the PDF, put it in your phone. Constantly look at this. Take it step-by-step, get everything up here Ready. Shake out your body, and you're good to go for your vocal exercises. 3. Script Reading: Now we're getting into the meat and potatoes of the VoiceOver training. And it's the script reading. And this is the most important part because this is actually the voice-over. So what we're gonna be using is the practice scrip. And you can go to your file or download the PDF file that says practice scripts. Because it has a lot of texts and scripts that you can practice with. And you can use these over and over again to continue to improve your voice-over. So I want to teach you how to read scripts and how to make sure that you understand every sentence and word that you're reading. Now that you've already warmed up your voice and you went through the warm-up process, you're ready to go with the script reading. It's important that you never read a script for the first time and just get behind the microphone and say, Hey, this is it. Because you've got to understand the script. You have to act out the script because basically you're an actor. That's why most voice-over artists, the big ones, they are a member of sag, the Screen Actors Guild, because they are actors, you are an actor, you become somebody different than what you are. Even if you're presenting your own voice, even if you are portraying yourself, you have to portray it in a professional way. And most people, they become actors when they do it. So what these are on this script file is these are a lot of commercials because it's really when you begin your voice-over career. Or if you're going to improve your voice-over for whatever you're using it, podcast or YouTube or whatever it may be, you need to continue to practice how you deliver your presentation. So these will definitely help. So I'm going to pick out a, let's pick out this one. It's Clairol hydrants. And what you have to do first is you need to read the script, read it just in plain language. Read it just like it is word for word. Like this. Clairol. Now with triple moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture, your color to lush and radiant. Hair in great condition colors more evenly. Hydrants, deep, moisturizing color creme, deeply conditions and protects to lock in unstoppable, lush, radiant color Clairol hydrants. Now of course that's not a commercial. And if anyone was to present that to like say Clairol, they would laugh in your face of course, because you're just reading the paragraph. You're not emphasizing any words. And you're not emphasizing any sentences or anything you're just reading to practice the words and the sentences. So let's do it again a little bit faster. Clairol. Now with triple moisturizing conditioner, deep moisture is your color to lush and radiant. Hair in great condition, colors more evenly. Hydrants, deep, moisturizing color creme, deeply conditions and protects to lock in unstoppable, lush, radiant color Clairol hydrants. Now what you're doing there is just getting more familiar with the script and your understanding certain words. And you're just practicing to make sure you don't get caught up on any words or sentences. Now without in mind, whatever it takes, if you have to keep practicing, do it over and over again until you get it right, at least the words. Because what you're gonna do next is you're going to start presenting the paragraph in a more natural state, like as though you are talking to somebody, you're selling them a product. Because if you look at this area here, it says sexy, slow, inviting. So those are kind of hints of how this should be presented. So kinda slow. You're inviting the person to their product a little bit sexy in this paragraph. And actually this product is geared more towards ladies. So women that are more than likely there would be a female voice on this. But this is just used as a practice scripts. So we're all going to do it male or female. So we do it a little bit faster. And now we're going to look at the sentences in a more personal state, how we would present it. So let's do it again. Clairol now with triple moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture, your color to lush and radiant. Hair in great condition colors more evenly hydrants, deep moisturizer color creme, deeply conditions and protects to lock in unstoppable, lush, radiant color. Clairol hydrates. So once again, you're getting more familiar with the script, more familiar with the words, in more familiar with the way you should be presenting it. But that's still not it. There was a little bit of hesitance. Still need to make sure that we highlight certain words. If this is a client of yours or if you're doing this for a client, you've got to make sure that you make sure that the name of the product is highlighted with your vocal delivery. And at the end you're going to come to a conclusion show. It always has to go down. So if you notice right here, it has the name of the product again. And you can either go clear all hydrants or Clairol hydrants. Once again, you're concluding this paragraph. So let's try it again a little more on the product, more highlights on some of their premium features of the product, and then come to that conclusion and the product. So let's do it again. And once at the beginning of this, you're going to definitely need to highlight Clairol, announce it. This is the product. So let's do it again. Clairol now with triple moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture your hair to lush and radiant hair in great condition colors more evenly, hydrates, deep moisturizing color creme, deeply conditions and protects to luck in unstoppable, lush, radiant hair Clairol hydrants. So you get better and better each time. One of the things that I have found that really helps present the tone and the speed of doing this and teaches you while you go is use a teleprompter. Now, if you don't have a teleprompter, there was a lot of them free online. So there's one. Let's go to a browser here. Excuse me. This one is called teleprompter mirror.com. Here's the address here. And what it does is you can, let's paste this then so you can go to your practice grip PDF. And one good thing about these PDF files that you're able to copy and paste. So just copy the script. And then you can go to that website. And there's a few of these. I just happened to pick this one. It's free. I'm not getting any kind of sponsorship or anything out of it. And we have the link on the cheat sheets. So teleprompter mirror.com, and then you just paste it in. And there it is. So it's basically simple. Here's your speed and that's really all you have to worry about. So the speed is this way slower, this way faster. So let's see what the speed is. So this is very slow and that's maybe the way you should start for right now. And if you need to start over, just kinda do this up and down. So let's see what this does. What it does is, you'll see like the blue arrow here. So it kinda guide you of where you should be reading and it sets the tone. I can tell already this is going to be very slow. But it's another training method that helps you kind of learn the words, learn the sentences. So really maybe the first time it should be that slow to practice the words every single time. So let's do it soon as it gets the Euro Clairol now with a triple moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture, your color to lush and radiant hair and great conditions. Colors more evenly. Hydrants dB of moisturizing color creme deeply conditions and protects to lock in unstoppable, lush radiant color, Clairol hydrants. It kinda helps you read a script and it's good to learn teleprompter because it sets the pace for you. So now I'm going to speed that up a bit. I think it's this way. Let's see what that does. Yeah, it's a little bit faster. So let's, what it basically does is for shoe to read faster at a higher tempo. Let's see what it does. Clairol now with a triple a moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture, your color to lush and radiant hair and great color. Make a mistake, stop it. As you can see, I'm getting caught up in this hair in great condition colors more evenly. One of the things that you should do if you get stuck on one sentence or a word, continually, repeat it. Here in great condition colors more evenly. Here in great condition colors more evenly. Hair in great condition colors more evenly. Hair in great condition colors more evenly here in great condition colors more evenly that way when you come to that word that you've been getting stuck on, it's easier to present. Clairol now with a triple moisturizing conditioners, deep moisture, your color to lush and radiant hair in great condition colors more evenly hydrants, deep moisturizing color creme, deeply conditioned to protect, to lock in unstoppable, lush, radiant color. Clairol hydrants. So you keep practicing over and over again. Make sure that you get it. Perfect. Okay, let's try another script. Because that was a, Let's try something. Okay, Let's try Allstate. This is a more serious script. So once again, your actor mode has to get into serious, sympathetic and slow. Because now let's say you're selling insurance, whatever it may be for a radio commercial, for an on-hold recording, for something that they're doing with video online. You need to be the voice of all state. And when the tone is set, you have to fill that tone. You're an actor. You have to make sure that your acting skills through your voice is serious, sympathetic, and slow. So this is quite different than Clairol, which is sexy, slow and inviting. You're now selling more of a serious product. So we start over again with the slow reading. If 12 jumbo jet crashed every year, something would be done about it. Every year nearly 6,000 teens die in automobile accidents. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. The good news is, we can start today. It's time to make the world a safer place to drive. That's all states stand. I'll state you're in good hands. Now, one of the things that I hope you are noticing is that I'm pronouncing words the way they should be sounded. As you get into these scripts, you should over pronounce words. Because that's going to teach you to make every ward standout, every word being pronounced properly. So if you do the I and the F 12 makes sure that v is sounded, the T 12 jumbo makes sure the B and the 0. Jumbo see every word needs to be properly pronounced. Jets. Make sure that T and the S and the J if 12 jumbo jets. So the more you learn, the more you practice, you're gonna be able to do it faster and faster by properly pronouncing every word. If 12 jumbo jets. If 12 jumbo jets, see every letter is being pronounced, crashed. Crashed. Makes sure the C and the ER and the d at the end. You hear every year if 12 jumbo jets crashed every year, see how every single syllable and letter and word is pronounced. Crisp and clear. Something. If 12 jumbo jets crashed every year, something would be done about it. You hear that T at the end. Every year nearly 6,000 teens die in automobile accidents. See how the end is the T and the S. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. Now this sounds ridiculous the way I'm presenting it now. But what you're doing is you are practicing on the words, the letters, the sentences. You're not really practicing at this point on the delivery. So let's continue with the script. And the good news is, we can start today. It's time to make the world a safer place to dry. See every single letter needs to be heard crisp and clear. Now, I hope you're understanding the repetitive of what I'm saying because I'm repeating it over and over again to make sure that every word that comes out of your mouth is crystal-clear and that you're able to pronounce every word properly. So that when you start reading scripts, you hear every word clearly, every letter clearly. That's all states. Stand. All state. You're in good hands. So it shouldn't be all stayed. You're in good hands where it shouldn't be. F2 John Doe jets crashed every year there. Something Would it be done about it? Airy or nearly 6,000 teens die in an automobile accident. We can all help you. You can't be reading scripts like that. You've got a really pronounced those, those letters and the words and the sentences. Let's do it again, maybe a little bit faster. Once again, don't worry about the delivery right now. Just delivery. Worry about the crystal crispness and clarity of each word and sentence. If 12 jumbo jets crashed every year, something Would it be done about it? Every year, nearly 6,000 teams die in automobile accidents. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. And the good news is, we can start today. Now there's a little sample here that I want you to look at. Start, ends with a T. And today, don't combine those t's. A lot of people make the mistake of saying start today because it sounds like one t start today. It should be start today. Here that last T ending. And the first the first T beginning, start today. It's two T's. And you're going to notice that with some other letters to when they end. Sometimes that happens with n. There's not one here, but a lot of people will end, end with an N and start with another n. But it sounds like one end. So pay attention to that. Start today. It's time to make the world a safer place to drive. That's all states stand. All state. You're in good hands. Once again, make sure that D sounds in good. Make sure you don't say in good hands. In good hands, say in good hands. It takes practice getting those words to combine by pronouncing every letter. And you'll get faster and faster by doing it. If 12 at jumbo jets crashed every year, something would be done about it. Every year nearly 6,000 teens die in automobile accidents. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. And the good news is, we can start today. It's time to make the world a safer place to drive. That's all states stand. All state. You're in good hands. Now once again, you see those two S's. Make sure that they become two S's and not one. That's all states sand. You have to make sure it's, that's all states stand here, the S and the S beginning. Once you practice that you get those letters and words clear, then you start working on the delivery, just like we did with Clairol. The Allstate is a little bit different. It's more serious, it's more sympathetic, and it's more slow because it is a serious script. You can present this as if all jumbo jet crashed every year, something would be down about it every year nearly 6,000 teens die and auto up. You cannot do that. It's a serious, almost like a news like script. So you would do it as if 12 jumbo jet crashed every year. Something we'd be done about it. Every year nearly 6,000 teams die in automobile accidents. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. And the good news is, we can start today. It's time to make the world safer place to drive. That's all states stand. All state. You're in good hands. See it's a little bit more serious. But near the end it kinda gets to be a better update. And the seriousness of the 6,000 teens die. You should emphasize the word 6,000 because that's very important because you want to get the message across that a lot of teens are dying. If 12, if 12 jumbo jet crashed every year, something would be done about it. Every year nearly 6,000 teens die in automobile accidents. See how I emphasize the 6,000. So you keep practicing. Make sure it matches the serious, sympathetic, sympathetic and slow. And once again, if you want to practice, you can go to that website with the teleprompter. And what that will do is it'll help you set the pace. This is a very convenient thing to use and I use it a lot. So you can just get rid of the script that's there. Put the new one in and you can start your pace. I do like the blue arrow there because it kinda set your pace and if it's going too fast or too slow, once again, you can do this. Set your tempo, set your pace, and make sure that you're reading every word crystal-clear. If 12 jumbo jets crashed every year, something wouldn't be done about it. Every year nearly 6,000 teens die in automobile accidents. We can all help stop teen driving deaths. The good news is we can start today. It's time to make the world a safer place to drive. That's all states stand. All state. You're in good hands. If it is their slogan, double-check with them on exactly how they deliver it. All state, you're in good hands because it might even be something like Allstate, you're in good hands. So they'll let you know exactly what they want. Practice, practice, practice. There's plenty of script here. From anything that you can run into. Funny, sarcastic, proud, personal, inviting, dramatic, weighty, slow. There are so many variables here. And read them all in the way they said personal, one-on-one, make it believable. You know, things like that. It's great ways to make sure that you're doing different deliveries. You are an actor, euro voice-over actor. You're not gonna be the same person that you are walking in that studio. Make sure that everything that the client is asking you for the delivery, the way it's going to be presented. Mysterious, full of wonder. Do it exactly the way it says. Look at this, read your script, practice it, record it, and you're ready to move forward. 4. Create A Studio: As I promised, we're getting into the good stuff. How did it get your voice-over studio setup for free? And I'm telling you I've got some great information and ideas where you don't even have to spend any money. I'm also going to share with you the microphone and some of the stuff that I use. But it is merchandise and equipment that you can buy later on. So where are we going to start? We're going to start in the closet. Now that sounds weird, but this is the perfect voiceover Studio and I'm going to tell you why you're close. Your clothes can act as the sound desk. Where's that most studios put in? So instead of using the sounds squares, which they reduce sound from the outside, which this one has those inside this closet. You don't have to buy those for right now. But what these do is two things. They make your voice over recordings sound warmer and they kind of take away the echo, but they also prevent the outside from coming in. If you don't want to do that, if you don't have the money right now to spend on those. And by the way, you can buy those squares like on eBay or Amazon. You can use clothes hanging in your closet because they will basically act the same way. Here, just some lighting that you can put in and I'll give you a little bit more information about that. So if you're in a closet that has no lights or very dim light, you can use those. But it's all set up right here with your laptop microphone. And I'll even show you if you don't want to buy a microphone yet, what you can do for free. But it's all there, a chair, a little table, and you're good to go. Once again, close like this right in a corner there. You can stand or sit right there with the microphone. And those will work perfectly. Just close the door and you have a high-quality voiceover recording studio. It's a perfect setup. It works great. And it's just one of those things that you don't have to spend any money at all and you'll be good to go. And so it'd be nice if you had carpet in there because once again, any kind of thing that's on the wall there, on the floor, on the roof that will help create the voice-over studio that's more warmer and less noise from the outside. You can't get any better than the closet. Because you'll notice too, that even in professional studios, the voiceover part is a very small setup. Now these lights I got at Home Depot that lux Pro and their battery-operated adjustable and they have magnets on the bottom so you can stick them on shelves or any rack. And you can put them anywhere like in the studio if you don't have lights inside your closet or if you have like, just like one light, these really help, but they also help if you're gonna be doing video. If you set up your green screen or sound squares, you could just set these lights up. And it works perfect for YouTube videos, TikTok and all that. So you can get a few of those and you're good to go. They're good for lighting. Just to make sure that you're able to read your scripts properly and that you're able to get set up that way. So look at this absolutely free, you can get it setup easily within an hour. Now, one of the things that I wanted to share with you is the microphone that I use because a lot of people ask, this is the Yeti X from blue. It's a great all around microphone. It's great for voice-over. It has some different settings based on where you're recording that. And it's all set and ready to go. Just plug it in from a USB into your computer and you're good to go. It's a high-quality microphone. I use this and I use another one for really deluxe, high-quality, but we're talking 500 to $700 on the other one. I also use the electron. It goes over the microphone. It has a popper stopper screen. And what that does is it prevents that. Those sounds that you get when you're using Ps. This one's pretty dirty and old because I've used it so many times, but it goes over any microphone. And it's like a little studio in itself. So you can just use that and you're pretty much covered. It will go over any kind of microphone and it works great. High-quality sound prevents any kind of sound from coming in all the way around the microphone. Now let's say you don't even want to put in money and for a microphone right now, but you still want to practice. Use your phone. Mobile phones now, the microphones on number such high-quality, you can do great work and practice with your voiceover. Just put in voice recorder where you can download apps. And there's so many of those scripts. I use MP3 recorder because it's simple to use. It exports and MP3, and it's high-quality. So on Google Play it's called MP3 recorder. Just download it, open it up. And it's so simple to use. One button, press it, record, and then export. And then you can use that to export to editing software and start creating your demo just based on recording from your phone. And once again, you can use that for practice. And then go to audacity is a free editing software that anybody can learn quickly and not have to spend money on software right now. Because once again, you're just getting started. It's for Windows and Mac. Just download it. It's absolutely free, no cost. And you can't beat that high-quality editing software for free. Once you downloaded onto your computer, just double-click the file and get it into this computer. I have a Mac, so I'm just kinda showing you, just double-click on the file that's downloaded. And all you do is take the icon, move it into your applications, and you're good to go. And these are just examples that you can open up Audacity and you're all ready to go to start editing your recordings and your demo. And a later lesson, I'm going to take you step-by-step on how to start with Audacity, how to start doing basic editing, and how to start creating your demo, all of it for free. You can't beat it. Great valuable lessons. Let's move forward. 5. Audio Editing: Alright, here we go. This is Audacity and it's a free audio editing software. And I'm selecting this because for the simple fact that it's free, it will allow you to practice, get better, and just work with it before you go into a paid version of some kind of editing software, I actually use Adobe Audition. I've used that for years. Audacity I'm not very familiar with, but I want to show you just basics and the framework of this software because I believe I know that at least and then you can practice with it, work with it, and get better on it. So this is where it starts. And make sure that your audio is set up for the playback for your recording device. Just for this demo, I'm just going to use the built-in microphone that's on the Mac. You should use maybe a better microphone. So once you plug it in, it'll show up here. And then when you're ready to record the voice over there it is. And then you can just drag in other tracks and get your demo started. So that's what I'm gonna do right now. I'm gonna do just a very quick voice recording for the simple fact that I wanted to show you how to do some basic editing, maybe add a music track, and then we'll move forward from there. So let me do a very quick voiceover recording. And it's not going to sound very good on the Audacity because I don't have a microphone plugged into it. But I want to show you how to make the track and how to correct a mistake if you make one, because of course, we all make mistakes and then we can always clean it up in editing. So let's hit record. Let me just do something real quick. Welcome to Capital One banking. We have a new free service that's available at no cost. Just go to Capital one.com and get your free checking account. And get your free checking account. Now. So as you see, I made a mistake and I want to show you how we're going to fix that. Very simple. So here's your track. You can see exactly what it looks like. I'm gonna just make it a little bit smaller right now because we're going to put some, some other tracks in here. But as you see, I already have a gap here and you always want to start your recording nice and tight. So let's move that and we'll put this over here. Welcomed at Capital One banking, we have a new free service that's available at no cost. Just go to Capital one.com and get your free checking account. So you can see where we made the mistake and you can see where I stopped. So let's look at this again. You're free checking account. Now there is where I went to. So if I if I cut this part out, you can see we can put that right there. Maybe even make this a little bit bigger by just stretching it. Put it there. Then you can do two things. Just go to File, edit, audio clips, split, but here's the shortcut Command I. So either way, once you learn the shortcut and there it is, It's splits it. Now, just bring it to and put it here. You see once again, it's very simple to just fix one.com and get your free checking account. Now. Well, there you go. If you did make a mistake or if you didn't and you want to go back to where you originally had it, you just drag it back. Or if you want to shorten the gaps. Pretty much once again, all the oddity audio software editing is just like that.com and get your free checking account. Now, once you do that and you see this big long gap, once again, you can close it up. And now we have the voice. Let me kinda bring this in a little bit and you can see that track. Now we want to add a music track underneath this, because we want to make it sound like a commercial. But I also want to make this voice louder. And there's a track here where this will actually do the trick. You see the two little arrows here. And this shows as far as levels for your sound. And you can just bring it up. And you gotta do the same thing here for the simple fact that now it's a bit louder. I can take Capital One banking. We have a new free service that's available. Okay, so I want to put a music track under this. And what I usually get the tracks from is if you go online and go to pixabay.com. And I'm not getting any money out of this, but I just once again, want to find something that's free for you guys to use. So you can kind of practice with it, build up your demos, and then maybe you can move on to some more premium things. But Pixabay is a great place to find free music beds. And whatever you're looking for. It's pretty much there. You can just search for the genre, the moods and more. You know, you can shirt. Like that was a corporate little script that Iran there. So I'm looking for something that's kind of corporate. What about this? That's almost perfect. So you would just download it and then go back to the editing software once you have it, and then bring it in. There it has now look how loud that is. You can just visually see it compared to the voice-over. So you're going to go back over here and bring this audio, bring it down, bring it down because this has gotta be a lot lower than your voice. So let's see what that sounds like. Capital One banking, we have a new free service that's available at no cost. It's still a little bit louder. So bring it down a little bit more. Let's see what it does. Capital One banking, we have a new free service that's available at no cost. Just go to Capital one.com and get your free checking account. Now. That sounds good. It's pretty much level with what it should be for the voice-over. Now as you see, it keeps going and going and going. But you want to cut it off because a demo has to show different sounds. So what we're gonna do is we're going to cut this, right where the voice ends. Once again, you can just go to the edit or you can do the shortcut command I. As you see, it's now split and just delete that. Now you have one segment of the demo. And it's there and it sounds like a part of a commercial. And that's about as long or maybe even shorter segments of your demo should be. You don't want it to go on and on and on. Because anybody listening to your demo wants to hear different versions of what you can do. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to put another track in here that gives a kind of another version of, let's get back over here. What I can do, and this is phone prompt demos. What I'm gonna do is bring this all the way over to continue where it left off. Let's bring this in a little bit. And I can tell you right now, this is a lot louder than these two. You can even see it. It should match this right here. And you can keep an eye over here where these levels are when it's playing. Let me show you this. At Capital One Bank India, we have a new free service that's available at no cost. Just go to Capital one.com and get your free checking account. Now, hello, thank you for calling our company The best way to get the perfect voiceover for your project in every language. Now this sounds better and the levels about the same. But because I was using the computer microphone, That's why this kinda sounds hollow and everything. So really should use a, a better mic, but I'm just doing that for editing reasons. So the levels about the same, the quality of the recordings better. So we're gonna do is just a little segment here I saved. So we're gonna do the same thing. We don't want to use this whole section. So what I'm gonna do is split it here, take this, and then we're going to put another demo in. This is basically how you make your demo. Different versions. Let's put news and weather or something like a weather. Bring this smaller so we can see this. Drag it over and write where it starts. Let's see what it sounds like for your project in every language to know more about the company, press one, the board will be holding two public hearings in the next couple of weeks, Bay Area, whether calls for clouds remaining today with temperatures warming too. So as you can see, the levels are pretty close to the same. But I don't like this first part of it. It doesn't really blend in well or about, or about or about the company. Press one, the board will be holding two public hearings in the next couple of weeks, Bay Area whether calls. So I would like to start at bay area weather because it kinda blends in better. It sounds a little bit better. We're going to put this here. And I noticed this is a little bit loud. So let's bring that down a little bit, just a tiny bit to match everything else. Let's see what that does in every language. To know more about the company, press one bay area whether calls for clouds remaining today with temperatures warming to the 60s, reign returns this weekend. Friday will be in the mid 60s with lows and the upper 40s, this weekend will be mostly cloudy with am showers on Sunday. Okay. So we're going to stop there That's about today will be cloudy. So let's go back here. Let's put that line there. And the same thing, we're going to split it and get rid of the rest. So this is what it's looking like. It's just building blocks of your best work. Now of course, this is not my best work. I'm showing you this just for editing techniques. You really need to take a long time to put these things together. It's gotta be perfect because if you're doing any kind of tryouts or if you're going for a gig, you have got to make sure that your demo was the best that it can be. So we're going to add another track here. We're going to end it. Put it right where that end was. Let's close this a little bit. Let's see what that sounds like. Mid-sixties with lows and the upper 40s, this weekend will be mostly cloudy with am showers on Sunday. The ultimate compliment we can receive is when clients refer family, friends, and neighbors to us for the remodeling needs. Okay, this time we're going to add the music first. As you heard, the music started right here, Gabriel. And that's where we want this to be edited because sometimes you have to go in and out of music, like it's different so they can hear that it's different. Music. I mean, different samples. So right where that line is. Cut that, let's see what happens. Bring it. And even sometimes you can, as you see, let me stretch this out. As this one's ending, the music is starting, so it makes it a BM showers on Sunday, Gabriel and company presents the forum is here. This weekend will be mostly cloudy with am showers on Sunday, Gabriel and company presents the foremost in fine jewelry design and maintains the highest quality and merchandise and support are aggressive approach and innovative design team has led to the release of 1,500 new styles this past year. Okay, And then we're, that's about the size of it. So I hope you kinda get the idea of this editing the now a lot of platforms to, you can also take these tracks and move them. So you don't have to put these things all on one or you don't have to keep going. Track, track, track. I can move this back up here. So you're saving a track or even one after another. But if you're blending close, it's good to have them on separate tracks. Will be mostly cloudy with am showers on Sunday, Gabriel and company. So this is just a short demo. Let's go from the beginning. Can take Capital One banking. We have a new free service that's available at no cost. Just go to Capital one.com and get your free checking account. Now, hello, thank you for calling our company The best way to get the perfect voiceover for your project in every language, to know more about the company, press one bay area whether calls for clouds remaining today. See you now there was a little bit of too close of a because he should be really tight one after another. So even if they kind of overlap just a little bit, That's same thing over here. It's gotta be very tight and clean. So let's try that. Every language to know more about the company, press one bay area whether calls for clouds remaining today with temperatures warming to the 60s, reign returns this weekend. Friday will be in the mid 60s with lows and the upper 40s. This weekend will be mostly cloudy with am showers on Sunday, Gabriel and company presents the foremost in fine jewelry design and maintains the highest quality and merchandise and support are aggressive approach and innovative design team has led to the release of 1,500 new styles this past year. Now remember, I mentioned previously or in the notes is you've got to make sure that your demo is not too long and make sure that it does not have other voices in it. A lot of times people think that they were going to press the impress a listener is by having stars on their demos or interviews that they did with public figures. Most of the time, people that are hiring you for a gig or not impressed by any of that, they want to hear your voice and your voice only maybe just a snippet of you're on the radio or something of the call letters or something like that. But it's gotta be your voice. As far as the demo itself. It should be anywhere depending on what type of work you're going for. Because a lot of times people that are reading for books or copyrighting, there needs to be a little bit longer. But like for radio and voice-over, It's gotta be a really clean, tight three to 5 min because most of the time, the listener is going to get a good idea of your voice within the first 2 min. If they want to hear more, they will continue. But make sure that your demo is not going past 6 min or even that's really long. And if you get any longer than that, they're not going to listen to at all. So this is just a basic instructions on how to put together and how to edit. What you're going to need to do is continually practice and practice on a platform like this. Learn where everything is. Once again, I have hardly ever used Audacity, but because of other software that I've used, you can pretty much find where everything is when you see effects, when you see tracks, and then of course the recording and all the other things and then edits always there where you're able to cut and split and join them all back together. And then when you're ready to put this all together and make it all one file to share. Most of them all have the same thing, export as WAV mp3. It's all pretty much the same. But learn the platform, learn how to edit, learn how to do the voiceover and make it clean and tight, and practice, practice, practice. Slippage dot f am. Welcome. You've got mail files done. Marketing Yourself: Alright, marketing yourself is probably one of the most important things in voice-over because you have a lot of competition. There's a lot of great voice-over artist out there. And you've got to understand that you as a beginner or even a moderate, or if you're already in voiceover, One of the most important things is marketing yourself because you constantly have to be out there. So once again, you pull out your trusty phone and pull up the PDF of marketing yourself. And there's some great steps on how to do this. And one of the good things about these PDF files is you gotta get yourself in tune to what is happening. Keeping instructions right in front of you, constantly reading these over and over again. Specifically the script reading. That is, what's going to condition you and make you that professional. The scripts that are in the PDF files, you should constantly be reading those everyday, continually practice with those scripts because whatever the case may be, whatever you're going to be reading, there should be a script in there that matches that. So always read those. So we have a PDF file of marketing yourself in some of the examples of how you should constantly promoting you're an advertising yourself. The most important step is to make sure to create the best voiceover demo possible. And we already covered that. That's important that you just don't put something out there. That you make sure it's edited well, make sure that your voice and your presentation is as perfect as it can be. And make sure that you have gotten feedback from that demo because it's important that you hear feedback from family and friends and let them be honest. Don't look for compliments, but look for suggestions on how to improve. The demo is the key to getting gigs. That demo is what should be shared the most. You should create a link to your demos and not all platforms, social media. Even on your e-mails, you should have that link to your demo, say and listen to my voice-over demos so people can listen to it at anytime. You should have high-quality headshot photos of yourself and nowadays phones take amazing photos. So you can put it on his stand. I think we're all perfect at taking selfies, but it's gotta be something a little bit more formal. Makes sure that it's something that looks professional and that you're happy with it, and it represents your voice-over career. Whatever you're going for, if you're looking for a certain niche, be it professional, be at corporate, be at a, some kind of a character voice, your professional photo shoot, Get dressed up into cartoon characters or anything like that. But it should be a professional looking, straightforward photo. And if you can afford it, if you wanted to invest in yourself at this time, go ahead and have it done professionally with a professional photographer, because this is really the first image of yourself that clients are going to see. So it's gotta be the best looking possible. Professional graphics logo of your voice-over is a must. You have to look professional in all your photos and promos. And that should represent that in graphics. And what we had showed earlier is the Canva, which I'm going to show you as far as canva.com where you can create logos and graphics for yourself, it's very easy to do. You can learn that platform probably within minutes, and you can create a custom logo. And one of the things that's very important too, is you should create a V card or a digital card. Because what those are is it's a little like a one-page where you can send clients to that has all your contact information. And also it should have a link to your demo, that contact information should go to your website, go to a social pain professional. Once again, if you're going to refer to anybody from a social page via Facebook or whatever it needs to be very professional. It should be a professional one page that has everything to do only with your career or your profession. So your v card, if that's the case, should have a link to that Facebook page or Twitter or whatever, but makes sure that it's specifically is only for your voice-over career and doesn't have anything where you discuss your political stance or have family pictures and things like that. That can all be done on your profile. If you only have a profile from Facebook or whatever, consider creating a page on Facebook that covers your voice-over. And you can create a V card at a website called dot io. It's a place where they create a little short link for you and it's easy to use one-page V card that doesn't have a lot of garbage on it. It just has your contact information, maybe your profile photo, a link to your demo and email and things like that. I just got to be very simple. Don't put a lot of information on it. Means you don't have a full description on your Visa card. If they wanted more information, they'll go to maybe your social page or they'll contact you for more information. But just have simple links and titles on the V card. And if they want more information, they'll click any of the links. And we'll discuss that will, and it's just 0 L dot io. And constantly promote, you constantly promote yourself. That is one of the most important things. Do it on social networks, E-mail in-person, male, you should always be looking for potential clients. One of the best platforms to do is LinkedIn, because LinkedIn is a professional social network website. So a lot of people there are looking to make connections. They're looking to network, and they're looking for certain things, even like voiceover artist. So if you have a professional profile on LinkedIn, you can put that on your V card and also create a very professional profile and LinkedIn, That's a great connection. And it's something that even if you don't have, say, a social network page on say like Facebook, you might want even consider just doing it on LinkedIn and then have everybody go there because that's where most of businesspeople and professionals and clients usually go to, to find people like you voice-over artist. So constantly marketing yourself. Extremely important. You should always be on the hunt for gigs and jobs. And that's what it is. Marketing yourself constantly on the go and constantly pushing for that next gig. So this was what I was talking about, canva.com and you may have heard about it. You may not have heard about it, but if you haven't, you've got to check this website out. Now I want to say from the beginning, they're not an advertiser, they're not as sponsor. I'm not getting any money out of it. I just see this platform as a perfect way to market yourself for free. It's called canva.com. You can create a free account. You can even login with your current Google account. And it has a lot of themes and platforms that will fit any project that you're working on. A business cards, flyers, Facebook ad, all this social network ads. It's really simple to use. So like even this, I took a template just from an ad. You can just change it to whatever you want. Change the wording, change the information, changed the photos, just as a click. The themes are so easy to use. You could learn it within minutes. Like here, I'm just giving an example of just changing some of the words to whatever you want. And if you wanted to change the photo which you're going to because you don't want to have a photo of somebody else. Just click on the photo and then change it to a photo that you have on your computer. You can also do this on your phone. They have an app. It's the Canvas app. It basically works the same way. There might be a little bit of limitations on the app itself, but it works about the same. And then once you save all the information, you can just download it or even save it to a social network or a platform that you're using. It pretty much works with any of the social networks. All of them Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, they have templates sizes for all of them. You can look at all the topics on the left side of what you're looking for be at business cards, social media, Dave, and have video templates that you can just take the themes from videos and change them. So whatever you're looking for, it pretty much has it. You can even build a website on this. And it works out pretty well. So here's the topics here like Facebook post flyers, logos. You can create amazing logos from themes that they have. Let's take a business card. The difference between the premium and the free is some of the premiums have better quality, higher-quality designs. And they go to, the money goes to the actual designer itself. And the premiums you'll see like little crowns on them. So the themes are the templates that have little crowns. Those other ones that you need to pay with a premium account, but the rest of them, they're free. So if you see one without the crown on it, just take it changed the wording, change the name, contact information. And if you say like this here, if you don't want to give your web address or your home address or whatever the case may be, you can just change the wording to something like listened to my demo at and then put the address. And if it all doesn't fit in, which a lot of times it won't. You can just kinda stretch it out or relay it out to fit your design preference. And then once again, if you want to save it, just click the Download button and save it to your computer or phone. That way, you can put that anywhere you want. Even once you create one of those cards, you don't even have to print them out. Just save it as a digital card. And you can put it on your, all your emails on your social networks. So it's always there to share as you're marketing yourself. Once again, here are all the topics here for pretty much every social network size. Just select which one you want, click it and save it. So like a Facebook ad, all these templates will fit for a Facebook ad and will be approved for a Facebook ad. So we click this one, change the wording on it to benefit what it would reflect for you. Any kind of wording and promotion. Put your name, your contact information, your demo information, which is important to always put the demo information and then share it. You can even print them out if you want or share it digitally. But you got to check the website out and bookmark it because you're going to use this pretty much as much as you're gonna use your editing software or your demo software because this is what's gonna get you gigs. And it's going to help you post your information and your marketing online. 7. Getting Gigs: Alright, getting gigs. This is really one of the biggest points of this VoiceOver training courses because now that you warmed up your voice and you've been reading script and you got a demo, and you're marketing yourself, you've got to start getting gigs. So we have a PDF cheat sheet and it's called getting gigs. You should always look at that and read it over and over again because I teach you how and where to go to get specific gigs. Very important that you follow some of these instructions because as you move forward in your career, you've got to start bringing in money. Because once you bring in money, then you can start growing your career. Because I've shown you how to set up a studio for free, get all the free stuff. Even use a microphone for free from your phone. But at some point you need to start investing in yourself. Putting money back into the business could be because that's what you are, the business. So in order to do that, you've got to start bringing in revenue and then you've got to find places and applications to do that. So on this PDF file getting gigs, I've given you some details on where to go to start promoting yourself and listing your demos and getting the demos out too, eyes and ears of potential clients. And if you scroll through this, there's quite a few websites that you can post, your demos and your information for people to see. I'm just going to quickly go through them here. But what you should do is look at these, look at the links and see what they're all about. And I put them in the order of, I think that would pertain to voice-over artists that are just starting out. You may have heard some of these, you may not have, but there's nothing to prevent you from posting yourself and your gigs on all of these. Probably the first one and the most well-known is Fiverr fiber. There are lots of voice-over artists on this platform, but there's nothing to say that you can't get on it and put low prices for your gigs at first offers some great deals. And then once you start getting more clients, you can raise your prices up higher. Years ago, I started doing that gut quite a few clients. And then I started raising my prices from there. Another service online is gig Newton. Gig newton is the same thing as fiber, nowhere near as big. But gig Newton kinda specializes in voice-over artist. And you can do the same thing. Start low with price and then go up. The next one is Upwork. It's a general marketplace for all types of services. And once again, if you have a good quality demo, all of these applications, you can put your demo on those so people can start checking you out and listening to what you're all about. Another one is 99 designs. It's for freelancers. And it covers all aspects of what freelancers can do online voice-overs, You can do that too. There's guru and that's for freelancers. Also. Guru is more of online platforms, but there's a lot of people that have apps and websites and multimedia platforms that they're looking for voices, they're looking for voice-over. This would be good for that. There's another one top toe, and it's for freelancers. And same thing. All of these are really close to the same two platforms or just maybe set up a little bit different people per hour. I don t know a lot about this, but I'm sure there are companies and clients on this platform that are looking for voices and voice-over for a product or service that they're selling. Freelancer. Freelancer is very well known for a lot of things like creating apps, encoding, and once again, multimedia things that falls into the line of voice-over artists and a voice work truly answer. The same thing as freelancer. Kind of what this platform does is it outsources work from what customers and clients and companies are looking for that they are not doing in-house. And I believe you can just push VoiceOver on that too. So the links are there on the pages. And you can check them out, see what they're all about. Check out there about links and see if it's something that you can incorporate yourself in. I would highly recommend all of these, but if you're going to start out, the first one, I would definitely recommend would be fiber. Because fiber is easy to set up. It's easy to set a profile up. You can start a gig up within an hour or so easily. And then once you do Fiber, One of the things I always recommend is put a gig up there and then take that link to that gig and start putting it on your Facebook page, twitter, Instagram and all that. So people can click on that link and go to a fiber and then order. Because the way fibers algorithm works is the more clicks that go to your profile and the more people that order your gig, the higher you start going up in the algorithm, and the faster you start getting gigs from other people. So what this does is it shows that your post is becoming popular. So they start moving you up in the voice-over section. So that goes back to where I say what you should do is offer a great deal or offers some extra bonus or something, a very low price or something. So that'll encourage people to order. So the more people that order, the higher you go up in the algorithm, and the more outside people come in to order your gig. So these are just some of the ways you can get gigs. There's other things like if you want to post for free post on Craigslist and just post that you're a local voice-over artists. And if there's any company that wants to or needs a voice for the radio commercial or a TV commercial. You've got a great deal for them. You can get a hold of like local car, lots of restaurants, start small, price that's small. And just try to get people to know who you are. Get to your website or your demo, and start making a name for yourself, and then you start building repetitive business. What I did at the very beginning when I got into the voice-over as I started offering voice prompts, and I was doing on hold messages. Companies that needed to be put on hold or something that they didn't want to use their own voice for when they were out of the office. I did voice-over for that on the gradings that they'll call out to a voice-over artists to do those messages. So you can get a hold of some of these local small mom-and-pop companies and companies in your area and offer that. And that's a way to get a foot in the door. There's so many things that you can do to get gigs. Just you have to keep rolling and make sure that you understand the marketing yourself section. Because it helps you push yourself and make yourself a brand. And you're gonna be moving forward in no time. 8. Getting Feedback: Can you believe it? We have reached lesson number seven. And you've been doing good. You've been doing excellent. I know you have. I know you have been doing the daily vocal exercises. You've been reading your scripts. You're still working on your demo. Because if you've completed your demo already, then that may be a little bit too soon and you need to fine tune it. And you've been getting ready to start marketing yourself and getting gigs. And you've been doing the lessons over and over again. You've been reading the scripts over and over again, doing your vocal exercises over and over again. Once again, it's a repetitive thing. It's a thing that you have to be doing. You're never a true professional. Unless you are constantly reading and working on vocal delivery and pronouncing words the way they should be pronounced. And understanding the vocabulary and sentences and the pronunciation of scripts, Reading, making sure that every word comes out correctly. So what we're doing now is we need to get some feedback on all this work that you've put in. But you never get the feedback until you feel comfortable of what you have done so far. Feedback is based on you have put together some kind of a project or a product, and you're ready to get people to listen to it and give you quality feedback of what needs to be improved. And like I've said before, and what it says in the PDF of feedback. And you should read this because it gives you step-by-step of what you should do to get feedback is you need to make sure that the feedback is productive. In one of the things I say here, which is very important, is you need to make sure that the feedback is not just constant compliments. Because if all you're doing is getting compliments, you gotta get feedback that's given you constructive criticism. And let me repeat that again because it's very important you need to get constructive criticism. Once again, you don't need somebody telling you how horrible you are. Probably the best thing to do is not get feedback online from strangers because It's in most cases, Excuse me, but it's a cesspool and people are just willing to start attacking people. So that's not really a good place to get feedback of a voice-over demo. What is a good feedback as family and friends and even some co-workers or business partners. Tell them that you're looking for constructive feedback on the demo that you are doing. That way they'll give you some information that you didn't even know about. And they'll give you some ideas to improve either your vocal delivery, the way you're saying things, miss pronunciations, your demo editing, all of this will play into perfecting your presence in voice-over and perfecting your demo. So it's important that you find the right kind of people to give you the feedback. But if you're getting all complements, then there's something wrong because nobody is perfect and you've got to understand that and make sure not to take anything personal. If people are giving you constructive criticism and you are kind of shaken by it or taken back, let's say not happy. You have to understand this is a professional thing. It has nothing to do with friendship or family. It's something that you have to take as professional criticism. Do you realize how much money companies and corporations pay for that kind of constructive feedback? They pay millions and millions of dollars. Did you notice that when sometimes you get feedback from customer service or after you have bought something at a store or a service that you have experienced. And then they asked you for a survey or some feedback. They're not looking for you to complement them. They're looking for ideas of how they can improve. So when you take the feedback or the survey and you give them the information of your personal experience. They compare that with other people's feedback and they learn from it and they build from it. That's exactly what you need to do. So you need to take that feedback. And once you see maybe one person saying something, another person saying the same thing, and then another, then you kind of come to the conclusion. Maybe I did pronounce that word wrong. Maybe I edited this wrong. Maybe this sentence didn't work out. And from there you redo it, you clean it up, you re-edit it. And then you play it again and you'll see that it's cleaner, crisper, well edited. And that means your demo is going to be the best it can be. So that feedback is invaluable. So you need to make sure, once again, we put that feedback PDF. It's good to keep that on your phone. All of these PDFs, please make sure to load on your phone. So no matter where you are, you can confidently read these because this course is not just a onetime thing. Meaning I didn't put this course together for you to go through it. And all of a sudden your voice-over artist, that's not the way it's going to work. This course is condensed because there's hours and hours and hours of stuff that you need to complete. In which in turn, that completion means that your repetitive. You're constantly doing things over and over again. You're constantly doing voice exercises. You're constantly reading the scripts, constantly editing and improving and marketing and promoting. What I did is just laid it out for you very quickly. And I put together key steps to make sure that you move forward again and again by constantly doing things over and over again. So really what this VoiceOver training course does is it gives you the highlights and the key points and specific instructions of what to do. And what you do with them is do them over and over again. But once you become a better voice-over artists and you grow and you're bringing money in. Maybe you should consider getting better equipment, better studio setup, whatever it may be, you're constantly improving. So the feedback is like the key to this because you need to get the feedback in order to constantly improve. So read that feedback PDF, understand all the highlights and the descriptions. And like I said, to be prepared for the constructive feedback to be negative. But you can turn that into a positive by learning what they're telling you, improving that and fixing it. And then moving forward, feedback is what you need to really validate yourself from all the work that you've done so far to make sure that that demo that you create is the best. It can possibly be. 9. Final Pep Talk: Alright, so you will have completed the course, but you have not completed the course. Because what you have done is you have completed the basic training of voice-over artists tree. Meaning that I laid out some steps of what you need to do to become a voice-over artist. But there's so much more than that you have to do. You have to take the steps that I have shown you and you need to move forward. With those steps. You got to constantly improve yourself. You got to constantly be doing the vocal exercises and make sure that your demo is constantly being improved. Meaning that you're not going to just make one demo. And then you fine tune that demo, and then you just send that demo out and that's it. As you get more gigs and as you get more jobs, some of those jobs that you do should be a part of your next brand new demo. Because you're developing as a better voiceover artist, you're becoming more relaxed and more professional. So as you do other clients jobs, take their work and blend it into a new demo and then keep doing that and keep doing it. I still do that to this day. As I refresh my demo and create a brand new demo, I take some of the most recent work that I have done, put it in the new demo. So you're constantly improving and becoming a better voiceover artist. The steps in the PDF files that I have sent you, please make sure I keep saying this. Put it in your phone and refer to them every single day, from becoming a professional at voiceover warm-ups, to reading scripts, to improving your dialect in your pronunciation and your wording. And you're sentencing to creating once again, the best demo possible to constantly marketing yourself and promoting yourself, and still getting the feedback that you need to be the voice-over artists to the level that you want to be. So that feedback is also a continual thing. If you make a brand new demo, get feedback on that from the same people that gave it to you before. You'll always learn from third party and other people and you can become improved each and every time. So what I would like to do is in order for you to move forward, you should make sure that your whole packages together. And I would like you to make a promise to yourself. I'm gonna do my vocal warm-ups every day. No matter what, I'm going to read some scripts each day, practice with those scripts. I'm going to promote myself and get my name out to at least five people a day once my perfect demo is put together. And I'm going to constantly be looking for gigs. So it's kind of like a timeline. You're constantly practicing. So you are constantly warming up and practicing scripts. In that time. You are working on the perfect demo. Once that demo is fixed, once that demo is created, and you're very happy with it. And other people are saying, you know, that's not a bad demo or that's great, it's perfect. Now you put together a great marketing campaign, including your logo, your imaging, your professional photo, put that together in a package. Create a LinkedIn profile, or create a professional web page on Facebook. And you're ready to get out there and start getting gigs. Try to reach at least five people a day. If you can do that eventually. And I guarantee you can make this personal guarantee. Someone's going to contact you by e-mail, by phone, online, whatever it may be, there's gonna be that person, that first-person that's going to finally contact you and say, You know what, I need this done. Don't get discouraged. It may take awhile. You may get one overnight. But whatever the case may be, keep doing this over and over and over again every day until that first-person. And then you're going to find out this. Once you get that first-person, they start coming in. I don't know how it works, why it works, but then you're going to start getting it over and over. And also a good thing to do is once you get that first client, have them do a review on you. Be it on a public platform, on Google or whatever the case may be, or even just put it on your social page or on your website. Make sure that they gave you that review because that really helps get more gigs. Good luck. Keep working. Be the best that you can be. And this is not the end. We're going to continue to move forward and make sure because I would like you to follow up with me too, and I'd like to see how you're doing. But the best thing to do is make sure that you keep moving forward. Grow with your voiceover and good luck.
