How to be happier during autumn and winter: Hello and welcome to my happiness. Hacks close. It's great if you to join me here, because by being here you probably wonder how you can improve your own health and well being. And, of course, happiness during those treaded dark and injury nights that are now drawing in. The idea is that I'm going to share with you our feedback that has come out off standard surveys that have bean commissioned around the world and also the tips and tricks off. How to improve your mood during those autumn and winter months. So there is nothing major for you to do in the sense off having to go out there and be extremely proactive. What? These tips will give you some ideas off, how you can make yourself feel happier and better. So without further ado, why don't we crack it, get cracking right now with the first tip that I have for you. So here we are, use your body. Holding an open stance or power posture is some people call it for just two minutes a day, can boost your confidence and reduce your stress levels. High power poses include standing and a wide stance. That's your shoulders back straight back and the legs they shoulder with apart. You can also raise your arms in a V shape above the head, just like you're screaming out to the rest of the world. I'm over here. You can also stand with your hands on your hips and maintaining at the same time that white stones another way you can increase your power pose or work on your power pose is to have your arms crossed behind your head, sitting or standing. Why are they called power? Pose? Well, because the open you up to the world. The lower power pope pauses on the other poses on the other side. They are the ones that sort of hold you cram together, not letting any air get to your body. So the ones who really want to work with are your power poses. The next tip is singing your heart out. It has always been known that singing is good for your overall health and well being. So here's the tip. Check out where you are and maybe join a choir milieu. They usually frequently advertised in local papers or even on websites for the choir. Or they may have Flyers advertising, maybe at the church or wherever. People sort of frequent. The Squire's don't usually look for people who have Bean trained to be great vocalists, but they are more interested in people who want to be part of the community off people who enjoy singing as a hobby. By doing that, you meet like minded people, people who are happy that they can join together for his sing song. And you usually don't have to have a great voice to join those choirs. It's more about the community. The relationship with the other people and the songs that people usually sing are very much classical, standard type stuff. So don't hang about. Go and sing your heart out. There are three reasons. Were you here to be creative? 81% of people have reported that they are feeling happier after knitting. If you have those knitting needles hiding away in a drawer somewhere, it's about time you get them out again. You don't have to be great at knitting. Most people start with the most basic knitting pattern available, and that's usually ending up looking like a scarf. You're not expected to make a big jumper out of it. But why not? While the time away knitting in a nice, comfy seed looking out of the window and seeing the world go by knitting is so relaxing. Number two creative hobbies such as poetry, photography and quilting have also been found to preserve memory as we age. I'm not an expert in this, but I'm old enough to know that hobbies generally keep your war active. And when you enjoy a Hobey well, you've chosen it. It should be enjoyable. It keeps you happy. So creative hobbies in the ass essence off that also keep your brain cells working. So look at what hobbies you have and see that you make use off those hobbies, not just excuse herself. Sitting in front off a square books called the television Number three is writing, Drawing and Listening to music are among the activities shown toe have a positive effect on your overall well being. Have you ever noticed how many people are now listening to music on the way to work? The sales for headphones have gone through the roof. People have USB head for parents. They have plug in phones. They have blue. Two phones of saying headphones. They have Bluetooth headphones and millions upon. Millions of people are now listening to their favorite music on the way to work. It helps them relax. It helps them move into the day on a more positive note. So I joined them. If you haven't done just yet, you also want to consider connecting with people a lot more. You might want to take time out to check with colleagues or go for a coffee with your mom. And I'm not talking about connecting will necessarily only by phone. Oh, by the way, that red image you see with a black circle in the middle. This is what phones used to look like before we had all this high tech stuff. Okay, but anyway, research suggests that relationships, even only with acquaintances can help us feel part of a community, and thereby helps us boosting our mood. So call your mom and meet her for a nice cup of tea or a nice cup of coffee somewhere in town and just let the world go by and I have a great conversation. You also want to keep your friends close. Research has suggested that your 25% more likely to be content if you live within a mile off a happy friend, we don't. As human beings like to surround ourselves or like to surround ourselves with people who are frowning or the time those people were constant moaner as people who constantly winds about something or other, those are the people that pull down your happiness. It pulls down your route because somehow, to be related to those people, you need to join them on this negative stunts. On the other hand, living near an upbeat sibling or a neighbor, or even with a cheerful partner can give you a similar chance off feeling more positive than joining the group off Wyness. So keep your friends close and be selective off who you spend the most time with. You really want to be around people who are happy, who are joyful about most off the things in life. We're always me included. Fine things weaken moan about, but that shouldn't be the be all and end all off your everyday life. Look for the positives and happy things that you can share with those friends. You might want to consider napping for 20 minutes if you can experts have said that a 20 minute nap during the day will make you feel refreshed. We all remember the old adage off. Spain always used to say, Let's have a siesta. The relaxing time between working hours. I have done that in the pounced. I used to take a nap in the afternoon because I felt like I could do that since I was working from home. That helps you feel relaxed and rested, and you don't have these post net grogginess feelings, since during that nap you don't actually enter the deep sleep stage. This is purely a quick snooze, but the wound. You should not exceed the 20 minutes, though, because once you exceed the 20 minutes napping time, you're more likely to drift off in the deep sleep pattern off which it will be a very hard to come out without feeling completely exhausted. So just do your nap for 20 minutes, and you feel so much more happy and really sharing hugs. Giving a loved one a hard can not only make them feel better and more confidence, but they also less likely to capture cold. No, that's what studies have suggested. Personally, I would say there is nothing wrong with hugging or sharing hugs with your loved ones or friends. It's not just women who love a good heart or a snug. A survey of five countries has found that men who frequently cuddled their partners or their friends were three times happier than those who didn't. So don't sit around and just looking at my screen or your screen in that case is I'm looking at my own. But go out there, give a friend a hug and tell them how much you care about them. It makes them feel great, and it also makes you feel a lot happier and lastly, asking for help again. The research 76% off 15 to 19 year olds and 57% off their parents said that simply asking others for held can make them feel happy. So if at any stage you feel down in the doldrums, ask someone for help. The people who give the help will be feeling happier because they can support you in a positive way and you feel a lot happier because you are being listened to and your concerns are shared. So next time you're feeling overwhelmed you know exactly what to do. So that's the end of the class. I hope you enjoyed my simple tips on how you can feel happier during those cold winter months. If you did enjoy this class, I would love to have your thumbs up or a little bit of a feedback. And if you know someone who could do with a little bit of happiness in their own lives and want to know how to do it, why not share my link to that close? And I'll see you in one of my other classes? So have a great day, have a happy winter and take care.
