About This Class

It's all about the sketch in this 2D illustration course! I love a good textured sketch, a sketchy illustration, and  am very much a fan of the Fall / Halloween season! My own *Disney Style Brushes* are included in this class and will give your sketches a flowy traditional look and feel, while having all of the perks of digital art. We'll start with our curious cat, then move on to chunky pumpkins and some jack-o'-lanterns to set the scene. We'll also work out a simple backdrop with values to complete the illustration.  Drawing templates, sample sketches, and brush pack are included in Class Resources.

1. Halloween Cat: Sketch Illustration in Procreate : What's up, guys? Drug predate here, it is October, which means Halloween fun. And we're gonna do a new 2D drawing class in Procreate on the iPad Pro. And this is gonna be all about just, just fun Halloween theme. We're going to make some pumpkins. Jacqueline, and we're gonna make cute cat, black cat doesn't have to be black me any color that you want. I'm going to show you how to do that. The face with symmetry. And then we're going to the body and we'll do the pumpkins would symmetry. And you can use these for any of your football thanksgiving pumpkin theme jacket, lantern, Jack. Jack, you'll enter inject Jacqueline. Jacqueline, turn. I think it's jacket lantern. So it's gonna be really fun, Halloween themed. I'm really glad that you're here to join me. Let's move on to the next video, the class project. 2. Class Project: Class Project, take one, made it to the class project. Video number two. You know what an annuity is for this class projects, I really want to see your creativity. I want to see you do stuff. So even if you do everything exactly the way that I do it, I'd really love to see you do it in your own way. Like I want to see you be creative, like add some other stuff to it, color it differently, make things bigger or smaller. Like you have the power to change whatever you want with this artwork because it's yours. So that's kinda what I want to see. I want to see something different. A totally hundred percent fine. If you do exactly what I do, that's cool. That's how we learn, but also take some steps to like do something, do something different. You can make multiple Jack lanterns. You can make really big pumpkins. You can make little baby pumpkins. You can draw the cat to look like your cat. Like you can color him like some cats have like spots, some caps, some cats have stripes. Some cats have fluffy tails, things like that. Big year, small ears. So that kind of thing. I just want you to be creative and do what you wanna do with that. This has been a really long class project. And I'm sure you get the point. We're going to make some cool stuff. It's Halloween. I mean, it's October. It's not Halloween yet, but it's October. So essentially it's Halloween time to make some Halloween stuff. Let's move on to the next video. There'll be getting started. 3. Getting Started: So first things first, let's open Procreate. And we'll add a new canvas here. And this can just be 3,000 by 3,000 pixels. That's my default size that I like to use. You can press the plus here. And then for dimensions, just put 3,000 by 3,300 DPI. Okay, so now we have our new canvas. The first thing that I'd like to do is actually bring this white downs them. So it's not so bright white. So let's just tap on the colors here. And actually let's tap on the layer and tap on background. And I like to make it a warm, warm color and just pull this back away from bright white. So maybe something like that. Okay, so the next thing we can do is import our cat. If you want to import it, you don't actually have to import the templates, but I have the cat and the pumpkins, and maybe a few other things that I add in. We're going to start with the cat and we're going to use symmetry for the cat. So we'll go here, add, insert a photo, and then we find our cat. Okay? So now you can see our cat here. It's very light because we're going to trace over it with our sketch brush. But before we do that, we want to turn on layer assist so that we can use symmetry. The symmetry will just be for his face or her face. So we'll tap here. Canvas drawing guide. And now we'll go to Edit Drawing Guide, 2D grid, isometric perspective symmetries, what we want. Now you see this line going down the middle. And what I had done. So notice that our layer now says assisted. And we can actually clear this whole, That's our cat. So I actually just assisted on the cat layer. We don't really need that layer is selected. So I'm just going to hit, I'm going to tap Drawing Assist. So this layer is fine and I'm actually going to lock this layer. That way. I don't accidentally do something like that again, it's always good to lock your layers. So let's add the plus. Then we'll tap on the layer and then we'll hit Drawing Assist. So everything that we just did for this layer will now apply to the new layer. And you can see the line is still going straight down the middle of our canvas. I always tend to do that. I just, I accidentally draw on the wrong layer. That's why the lock is really good. Okay, so now we can start on our cat and I'm going to use Disney sketch light. You could also use Disney pencil or any other brush that you want to use. Let's see Disney sketch light. Let's make it a little smaller. Maybe 15 is good. So size 15. And you can use any color, you can use black. I like to use a dark red color, but doesn't really matter any color that you like. Now that symmetry is on. You see that everything is symmetrical. And that's what we want for the head. We just want to start with drawing a sort of an oval type circle, something like that. Now there are a few different other ways that you can, other shapes that you can do. And I'll just show you that. I'll show you some examples. So I had an added layer. I'll tap it and hit Drawing Assist that turns on our symmetry. And you can also do something like this. Let's say you wanted to do a more, you can do a cat with kind of like sharper angles. You can do something like that. And of course this goes for any shape. You want to make your cat. You can make them with a bigger head like that. Smaller ears. Bigger ears. You have a cat and you can also tailor it to look like your own cat. Okay. So for these years I'm going to start on the outer edge and I'm just gonna make a soft triangle. And by soft, I just mean, I'm not going to make it sharp. I'm just going to make it rounded. So it's sort of cute. So now for the eyes, you can start out with circles. You just don't want them to be too close to this line or too far away. So starting with circles, there is pretty good. And also, you can also use where you draw the circle and hold it and it'll make a perfect circle. So now let's make his little eyelash area. Here. I'm going like that. And then for the nose and mouth. The nose I like to do a heart. With symmetry. I'll just go like this to curves like this. And this would be like the bottom chin. You can also do one on top if you want to. I think that's a pretty cute face. Also, I'd like to do these. That looks pretty good. And you do have some some room to play around with the mouth to let's say you wanted to have a bigger nose. You don't even have to do a heart. You can do something like this, which is a more traditional knows. You can do a mouth like that. Which is kinda cute. And also something else that's really cool is you can, I'll just duplicate this. Because I kinda like this. I think it's really cute. So we can take this face, tap on the layer and turn off drawing assist. So then you can actually erase. You can erase some of it. You can do something like that. That's pretty cute too. So you have a lot of leeway to do what you want and figure out how you want to do it. Be kind of a cool animation. And also since I've done this one, I also want to show you something else. You can duplicate it. Just so I don't have to go. So I have the one that I like. So I didn't turn drawing assist off. So I guess I'm gonna do this with both eyes. We can also draw a line down here. So there's a lot of different combinations that you can do. But I just wanted to show you some variations with the face. Turn drawing assist off. Maybe we want a smirk. Spark is kinda cute. 4. Cat Body: I'm gonna make a new layer underneath. And I'm not going to draw, I'm not going to turn on Drawing Assist. And here we're just gonna do the body and we're gonna keep it very simple. So we're going to start back here. I can just go straight down and then down. And then here. Make another line kind of going down like this. So this is a really simple shape and that'll be the body of our cat. Now even though I'm sketching, I'll probably go have to go back and just erase some of these lines. For the legs. I like to sort of make the chest area of the cat, which is this area here. So I'm just gonna do this. I'm just going to sketch a line like this. This sort of be the chest area and the arms would be down here. For the arms, I'm just going to come down and just kinda make a cute little circle like that. And I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side. So maybe from around here, like that, I'll just erase this center line there. I think I want the bottom is a little bit flatter. So I'll just erase my line and just kinda I think that's a little better. And for the back leg, we're just going to make a line here right behind that first, refine that arm. And his little foot will be here. So something like that. First little pause. Though she can keep very simple. And you can just do some lines like this. Just keep those very simple. Same thing with bank here. You can just make some lines. Okay, Now let's do the tail. The tail, we're just going to start here and we're going to come around like that. We're just going to make a loop. Then right in the middle, sort of more towards the top will make another little loop. So it looks like the tail is coming off. And let's erase a little bit of this line here. So we'll just erase a little bit of that. So that looks like the tail. Let's add a new layer right above it. I'll go back to our brush and then we're going to come around the back like this. So we'll just make it a little bit bigger. Come around, come over our foot, and make a shape like that. Now we can go back down to our original cat and erase the leg. So this will make it look like the tail is in front of his little foot. We can merge down. Okay, So that's our cat. As you can see, my cat is not very straight. So I'm gonna make a new layer above. And this is a little trick that I do sometimes. So I'm going to use the selection tool and the rectangle. And I'm going to start about here. I'm just going to make a rectangle. I'm going to fill it. So this is on a new layer and I'm going to bring that opacity down. So let's pretend that this is the ground and you can see our cat is sort of floating. So all I'm gonna do is go to the cat. I'm gonna go here to liquefy. Make our brush a little bit bigger. You can see we're using push. Size is 71, pressure is max. Just so you can see my settings. But the brushes, his most important. Now, I'm just going to bring this down. I bring his tail down a little bit. Maybe I'll bring this side even up. I'll make the brush smaller and just kinda bring this up. So now it looks a little bit more even. So we can tap that. We don't need liquefy anymore. We'll go back here and we can get rid of the ground. And then we have our little cat. So next we'll come back and we'll do some some pumpkins and maybe like a check lantern to just kinda set the scene around him. 5. Pumpkins: So now that we have our cat finished, we can start with some pumpkins that we'll use to go along in the scene. So let's just get rid of these cats. And of course again, you can import the template of the pumpkins. I must say popcorns, bumpkins. So Insert a photo and this is them nice and light. Okay, there we go. So there we have some pumpkins. This is a good practice with just like making pumpkins. Again, feel free to switch it up. I'm gonna do a few different options here so we can just play around with this. Okay, so I'm gonna add another layer on top. I'll tap on the layer and hit Drawing Assist. So now we'll have our symmetry again. I'm on Disney sketch light. Looks like it's working well. And I'm going to start with let's start with the little guy. Okay, so for this one I'm going to start here. And essentially you just wanted to make circles sort of coming out like so. And then for the inside, you just want to sort of make closer together at the same sort of shape will make one like this. So something like that. And there's so many different variations that you can do. So that's one. Let's make a new layer. Actually, we can separate them layer later. Okay, so for this one, you just want to come out from the bottom. Make another one here. And maybe it will make, Let's see what another one looks like. It might be a little too much. I'm going to hold off on that one and just go like this and have another one back here. I think that looks a bit better for pumpkin. Okay, so let's add a new layer, tap it, Drawing Assist. I'm going to go ahead and mute this one. So it will be on our Jacqueline. I'll name it. Chaco rejects autocorrect. I love it. Okay, So this is the same premise is just the only thing that's gonna be different with this one is how you want to make the jacket lanterns facial features. Okay, so this one, I'm going to start at the line, kinda come out. Just do something like that. And another one here. And maybe you just like some lines there to sort of it doesn't seem like this stops just to kind of give, give a feel of that. So when you do the same things from behind, I want to maybe one here, then maybe another one here in the middle. Just to fill it out. And actually I kinda feel like I want this to be around more round. So let's erase this. Erase this middle one. I feel like I kinda like that. You could also maybe cooling this and have it heavier on the tongue. That's kinda nice too. So you can change the weights and the shapes of these, and it just changes the whole shape of the pumpkin. Alright, so that's the base shape. Do I want to do this on the same? You know what, Let's make a new layer and let's do Drawing Assist. This way, we can go back and forth with different facial features and different shapes and things. Okay, so for the first one, I'm just going to do something like that. It will give them those little things too. And then we'll just give him some sort of Jack Leonard teeth will come down, up, down and then try to come up right to that line. Same thing at the bottom. We'll just do down, up and then down. The symmetry. This gives us that nice symmetrical look. Alright, I think these look pretty good so far. Let's try a different face. So I'm going to do plus Drawing Assist. Let's just try something else. Maybe you want. Something like this. Let's see, maybe something like really crazy. You can have something like that. And a creepy looking at. Maybe erase and then have like a kind of classic look that's super creepy. Actually. Let's try something else. Drawing Assist. Okay, What else do we want to try? Maybe we want to do some really big eyes. Something like that. Lots of kinda cool designs you can do for a Jacqueline. And this actually might be cool if we did. Sort of like, let's see, that's kinda creepy. Kinda like it, kinda dig it. Let's do. That's creepy. Jacqueline are kinda cool looking now. So you can feel free to make some other pumpkins. Just have fun with it. We'll stick with our, our original pumpkin here. And maybe just for fun. Drawing assist. So let's see if we really wanted to scale shape of one of these pumpkins. So this kinda just looks like it's angled. A little bit more fun to play around with. Maybe I'll use it. 6. Pumpkins 2: Okay, so the last thing I wanted to show you with the pumpkins. So we have our little pumpkins here. I'm going to duplicate this. I'm going to merge it down. So I'm just duplicating behind all this so you can see what I'm doing. So basically this is our main pumpkin. That's her main, main pumpkin base. And we have all these faces. So I'm going to duplicate it. And then I'm just gonna drag that layer up and merge it down. Duplicate it again, drag it up. Merge this one down. We missing one. No, I think that's it. So now we have one pumpkin, two pumpkins, pumpkins. This little pumpkin, which I'll drag up to the middle. Then we have our little pumpkins here. Where are they? Here's our other little pumpkins. So let's separate these. Let's just do this. Use the selection tool. You can use any, you can use freehand rectangle. I'll just use rectangle. So I did a rectangle around it. Three fingers swipe down and cut and paste. So now it's on its own layer. So we have our two pumps are three pumpkins ear. So it's important for this. It's its own layer and doesn't say assisted. So it will not be symmetry. So there's no symmetry. But that's good because what we want to do here is just draw in. And I'm gonna make a new layer above is we're going to draw in the end like that. Okay, that's pretty good. So now we'll just go back to the bottom one and just erase what would be behind the stock like that. So now we can merge them down. That looks good. We'll take this pumpkin, move it up. And we'll just do the same thing, add a new layer above, and then you can make the little stalk. Let's make this smaller. So something like that. And then we'll go back down to the bottom and just erase what would be behind it. Gotta be careful. This is still assisted. So I want to take this off of assisted. Okay. You can actually do some faces on these two. I'm going to leave them as regular pumpkins, but you could also do some faces on them as well. If you decide to. And I will just merge that down. So we'll name this P1 for pumpkin one. When the mist P2. This is just the base. This one we have our jacket lantern, so let's bring this down. We'll add a new layer and then we'll do this talk on this one as well. So it can be something like that. And go down to the original one will turn off the layer assist. And just who raised a race, what would be the base are behind it? Kinda deleted that as well. Go back over that little, little thing I do too is go like this and kinda make it a little bit swirly. And I'll do it again just so you can see how I do it. So when I want to make it one, I want to make this swirly. So I take this curve and then it just come out. So I take this curve and then I just come out like that. And then I'll take this other curve and then sort of follow it. But not follow a completely see a follow-up, but that's sort of go straight down. And then I'll take this curve and just A little bit here. Just so it looks like a twisty type deal. I'll go ahead and merge that down. And of course you can do the other pumpkins if you want. I guess I might as well. You might as well do them. I'm going to turn these off. Drawing assist. Drawing Assist. I'm just going to turn them all off now so I don't make that mistake. So let's just do some stocks. I feel like this needs to be a little bit bigger, but I'm not going to worry about it now. I'll just erase. This will merge down and I'll just put some swirls. He's more swirly. Excel. I'm going to turn, I'm going to turn assist back on for this one we use is the right one. Yeah. I'm going to turn it back on only because I feel like this is a these needs to be a little bit wider. Like it should be out here. Here we go. Feels a little bit better to me. Now I'll turn that off and just add a new layer and do the same thing that we've been doing. K. Race these, merge them down and then do them a little twisty. And last but not least, this little one which is actually one of the nicer ones, I think. So. We're back to that one. Just erase underneath. Then we can merge them down. And some twirl, please. There we go. I think that looks really nice. Okay, So we have our pumpkins and they're looking good. So now we have our cat and our pumpkins. And I'm going to take these off of the line just so we can sort of see them all. I'll use our main jacket lantern, the one that I'm probably going to use. Put that one here. Then we have this little pumpkin. And then this little fat pumpkin. You can shrink some of these. Just so it's even. So then we have some pumpkins that we can use an arsine along with our little cat. 7. Scene Building: Okay, so we have our elements. We can start putting things together to make it look like a cute little Halloween scene. Let's get rid of all these and bring our cat back. We don't really need this line down the middle. So we're gonna go back to Canvas. And we don't need the drawing guide anymore. Okay, So let's bring back our cat, which I think was this and this. And I'm just going to duplicate them. You don't have to. I'm just duplicating them because when I make the classes sometimes I have to go back and change things. It's just easier. Okay, so now we have our cat here. Looking cute. Let's add our Jacqueline, Jacqueline turn. So that was this one. Okay, So maybe maybe this is like a little bit smaller and behind him. So maybe that one's there. And you know what? Okay. So and then we'll, maybe we'll put this pumpkin. Maybe we'll put this pumpkin here right next to them. It will make it small, cute little pumpkin. And then we'll put this little pumpkin here. We'll make it small. Maybe we'll put it here in front of the other pumpkin. I think that's all our pumpkins. To have another little one. Okay. I think that's, I think that's all I pumpkins think I'm gonna make this one a little bit bigger. Okay, I think that looks pretty cute. I'm going to add a new layer on top. And I'm just going to put in some little blades of grass. It's very simple. So something like that. So this can pretty much be like the foreground are here. And maybe we'll put a moon right here. I think that will look nice. I'm going to add a new layer. I'm gonna, I'm gonna label these layers so I don't forget what they are. So these, this is grass and this will be Moon. And let's just do a crescent, nice crescent moon. I think. I can do a crescent moon or we can do like a big round moon here. So if I wanted to a crescent, I will do something like this. And hold it might be the easiest way. Actually. See I make a circle and hold it. Then I can sort of use that as a guide. And then I can just erase away the extra. It's an easier way to do it. Okay, so we can have a nice crescent moon there. Which looks kinda cool. But pardon me, just wants to, to minimize that and make a new layer. Part of me wants to do sort of like a mountain scene here. Doesn't have to be that at busy. Just sort of a mountain mountain type scene. And then behind it we can do a big round. A big round moon in the middle. Or maybe it, maybe a moon sort of off, off center. Might be too big. Maybe something like that. Then we could even do a few cute little clouds. And you'd like to do a straight line and then just a few like very round little. It's very cute like round little pops for Clouds. Okay, It's looking good so far. The only other thing that I was thinking of, why add a new layer. And we'll name this one foreground trees. You could just name it trees. For this, I want to use the Disney brush. And you can see I'm just doing like kind of like sharp lines coming in. So what these are is really they're supposed to be like tree branches. So you can put little specks on the side. Those are supposed to be like tree branches. But what I'm gonna do with those is I'm going to use Gaussian blur. So we just go here to Adjustments gaussian blur. And I just want to blur that layer. So it kinda looks like there's trees in front and it's a little light so you can just duplicate that layer and merge down and you can duplicate it again if it's still a little bit too light and merge down. So then we have a little bit of like a foreground. I'll add another layer underneath. And please, the same brush will make it really big. Sort of do the same thing on the bottom. So it's sort of like the tree trunk. I'm just making it a little darker. Same thing over here. Just frame it a little bit. I'm just kinda going over it multiple times just to kind of make it a little bit darker. And then we'll do the same exact thing. We'll just go over here to Adjustments, gaussian blur. And we'll just blur. It. Actually looks pretty good. We can duplicate it if we want. Here that looks better. Will merge it down. And then will just merge the top two together. And you noticed I brought the layer up because it will maintain the name of the bottom-most layer. So that's why I took the random layer and put it on top. Then I merge them because it doesn't really matter what, you know which direction they're in. Okay, so I think that's a good place. We'll work a little bit more in the next video. 8. Final Touches: So now we can just clean it up by erasing some of these overlapping lines and then maybe we'll add some values to it as well. So let's start with okay, so we have our cat here. Another thing that you might want to do is just go to the gallery and duplicate the project. That way if you want to go back later or if you want to use this cat and something else, you haven't erased any part of it. I've been doing a little bit by hitting duplicate. But sometimes it's better to just go to gallery and just duplicate the whole project. So you just go to the gallery and then you just swipe left and you hit Duplicate. And then you have another one. Now I have three. So I'm going to go in and delete this one. Okay, so let's start with our cat. Whereas our cat, okay, Let's label the cat. So now we have, Let's get rid of these. I don't need these anymore. Lock. Just sort of cleaning up. And I'm not worried about these sketches because I have a duplicate layer. So I don't need anything and then I don't need. So I'm just sort of cleaning cleaning all of this up. Okay. So now we've got, we're all cleaned up. So we have the cat here and then we have the grass. So I'm just going to use graffiti. Graffiti brush should be on my Disney brushes. G brush for erase. And I'm just going to erase where the blades of grass are. And I'm going to erase behind this pumpkin. Oops, there we go. So the pumpkin is in front of the cat. Here. This pumpkin is behind the cat. So we want to go to that pumpkin. We want to erase the bits that are in front of the cat. Like that. Same thing here. This pumpkin is behind this pumpkin. So we'll continue to erase that pumpkin in the background like that. And this blade of grass is in front of this pumpkin. So we'll go to a little pumpkin. And then we'll just erase this so the blade of grass is in front of it. The same thing here with this one. So we'll go to this pumpkin and just erase that plate of grasses for the moon. Where's the moment? The moon's altogether? So that's okay. We'll just go ahead and erase this line where the cloud is. We'll make the cloud in front of it. Maybe erase a little bit here as well. Okay, so now let's see what do we wanna do now? Okay, so now we're just going to use values to sort of color this. And you can actually color it just regular the way that you would normally call or something. But I'm going to do something different than what I usually do. I usually would line this up and make everything really clean and pretty, but I'm just going to try to use texture and just layer in color. So I'm going to use Disney brush. And I'm still using this sort of dark, dark reddish hue. So firstly, I'm going to add a new layer and put it on the bottom. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna rename the sky. The sky is going to be all of this back here. So this is, I'm gonna make the brush as big as I can make it. And I'm going to try to color all of this behind him, including over the clouds and over the moon. I'm gonna try color all that behind him without really lifting my route, really lifting it off the canvas. And it doesn't really have to be perfect. I'm not too worried about it being absolutely perfect, but he just wanted to do the best you can. Just sort of color it in. And if you do go over certain places, it's okay because we're going to erase it. Okay. I think that's pretty good. So before we do anything else, let's just make another layer above that. And we'll name that ground. We'll just name it ground. And we're gonna do the same thing with all these mountains and stuff bought and bind them and in front of them. So we'll do the same thing, same brush, Disney, brush size, we can get it. I'll do the same thing. Again, will try to avoid the pumpkins and the cat. Are little cat as much as we can. But it's not, I'm not too worried about it being perfect. It's actually, it looks nice when it's not very, not super perfect. It's really nice just to be able to do it without worrying too much about everything being perfect, which is how I usually do everything. I usually want everything to be super, super perfect, but okay, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna hide the ground, go back to the sky and will be to erase. And I'm going to use Disney brush to erase as well. And I'm just going to erase. Oops. It's actually a bit light. So I'm gonna go ahead with, with g brush. Just erase any spots that I went over on the mountain. I went over a little bit over here. Okay, so I'm going to erase the clouds and the moon. Whoops. Kinda went outside the lines. Even when I'm trying to, even when I want to keep it loose. It's still really hard for me to not be so like clinical about everything. Sometimes what helps me is just to move very fast when I'm creating things that way. That's the only way that I can sort of keep things loose. Because I, I, I'm a perfectionist. I want everything to be clean, precise, but it doesn't always have to be. Actually things look really cool sometimes when they're not clean and precise. Now we're bring back the ground and you can erase any bits that you want to clean it up. Some. Go ahead and erase. Okay, so let's make a new layer. And we'll name this shade. So we'll go back to our Disney brush. I don't think it needs to be that big. And then we'll just color in our black cat. That of course doesn't have to be black. You can color them any color that you'd like. Hurt, not any color but any sort of pattern. So if you want to color them in black and then sort of erase away like a tuxedo type thing. You could do that. Eyes mind going over his nose. I make his nose black too, so not too worried about that. Okay. It looks good. We'll go Brazil knows a couple of times. Okay. So now we'll add a new layer. And this will be pumpkin shade. And we'll do the same thing will go inside the mouth. I'm trying to stay even more loose. Go over it again. Same thing with the eyes. Will go over them twice. Then I'll do this talks to actually I'm not gonna do this talk's yet. Don't do this talk's yet. So for the mouth pumpkin shade, I'm going to duplicate that to make that darker and merge it down. Now if you want to make something darker, all you have to do is duplicate. So sky, I'm just going to swipe left, duplicate, merge it down. Swipe left duplicate. Merge it down. Can swipe left again if you want it to be even darker. I think I like it there for now. The ground I think looks pretty good. I might go in and make some of this a little darker behind him. Cat shade. So this is how dark we want the cat to be. So we can duplicate that, merge, duplicate that again, merge, even duplicate it again if you want them to be that dark. But again, I think I like I think I kinda like that. I don't think he needs to be much darker. The only thing I want to be darker on him is his eyes. So I'm just going to fill in your eyes 1234, something like that. And also, I'm going to add a little shade here, a little bit of shadow underneath the eye. And now let's go back to our pumpkin shade. And I'm going to shade in the stocks and the back of the pumpkin. Okay, I'm going to lower the opacity of the brush and just sort of color in the sides of our pumpkin. Go over it again. And then I'm going to add another shade like this. Just to keep our pumpkins a little something. Looks good. So let's go to the ground layer and just add some shadows underneath our pumpkins. Underneath her cat. You see I'm staying very loose with this. Doesn't have to be perfect. It can be nice and loose. And also like I was saying before, maybe I want to just kinda shade in the back of this a little bit more. Just add a little more movement to it back here. Maybe a little round pumps to make it look like there's something like bushes or something. Here's another thing that you can do. It's very optional for the eyes. So you can go into cat shade, you can take erase. And we'll do, I guess we can stay on G brush. I'm going to lower the opacity to 30%. Doesn't have to be that big. And I'll just make a jelly bean in there. To jelly beans. Then I'll raise it up all the way, make it smaller. And I would like it to go over this line as well. So in order to do that, let's see. Where's my cat lines? So here's my cat. So I'm just going to merge these two. So now the cat is just one piece. Now I can take the eraser and I can erase this whole thing here. I'll do that for both. Maybe even add a little pop here. And then we have are a little night scene. Let's see what it looks like. If we add a little bit of texture to the moon. Sometimes wounds have like kind of like a little bit of a round texture. Maybe we'll lower the opacity. Just do some circles, maybe just to add a little bit of something to it. But I think it's really cool. I love this dark color. I think it looks great. I loved to see if you guys want to line it up, if you want to color it different colors. There's so much you can do again, and you can even do this. I'll go back to gallery duplicate. Then I'll open a new one. And then let's say I want to merge all of these together. You can merge them all together. Then you can go to hue saturation, and you can change the color. You want it to be even more Christmas Eve, Christmas or Halloween style. You can make a completely black. If you want to do that. You can make it completely black. And you can add a new layer, layer above. And let's say we want to do orange. Let's say we want to add some orange hues. And let's say we put this to multiply. So we'll change the layer to multiply and leaves Disney brush. You want some orange pumpkins. Can do that. We can change to a more yellow color for the eyes, maybe. Something like that. So there's a lot you can do it like a little bit. Be kind of cool if it was sort of, sort of purplish. Can take like a muted green or even like a blue, even like a muted greenish blue. The lighter. Can maybe do a pale yellow. If you wanted to color in the moon. Maybe add some blue for the sky. Really see it. That looks even better. I love it. I think it's fun. Anyway, hopefully this was fun. There's so much you can do. Hopefully this. You learn some techniques in their stares. Hopefully you try this again and try to do everything completely differently. That'd be a good exercise to do. Or use this cat in a different setting, you know, make them happy. You can do Christmas cat. You can do any other sort of a holiday, things like that. Pumpkins are great for fall two, they don't have to have security phases. So there's a lot you can do. And I hope that you picked up a few things that you can use in your work moving forward. I had a lot of fun doing this, so I'll see you guys in the next video. 9. Thank You!: Alright, that's all folks. Thank you so much for joining me on this class. Hope you had fun. It's October 1st now, so I have a lot of time. But one of the things that I've started to do with Skillshare, as I started to do these drawings, they can also bring over and use with 3D. So if you're interested in 3D, take my 3D, my beginner's prefer beginner's class and nomad sculpt because you're already, you've had the iPad using Procreate. So if you're interested in 3D, but check out that class because I'm gonna make this scene also in 3D. And that's probably gonna be my next class, is the same sort of thing.
