2. The YouTuber’s Mindset: Welcome to the first module YouTube ers Mindset.
Imagine this. It's the midnight, and
you're sitting at your desk, staring at your
YouTube analytics. You've been posting
videos for months, but the views were so low. You ask yourself, why
am I even doing this? Honestly, I've been there. When I started my
YouTube journey, I poured hours into
every single video, and I obsessed
over every detail, only to see single digit views. I was frustrated, doubtful, and convinced I
would never make it. Then one day, I stumbled across a quote that
changed everything. Success on YouTube
isn't about luck. It's about learning
every step of the way. And in that moment, I realized I needed
to change my mindset. And once I did, everything
started to click. So by the end of this module, you will have the mindset
shifts you need to turn your YouTube dreams
into reality. Let's dive in. Here's the hard truth.
Most people give up on YouTube before they
even see some success. Why? Because they're
chasing the wrong things. They think success means going viral or
getting instant fame. But let me tell you what
success really looks like. It's building a loyal community. Even if 50 people
watch your videos, imagine them in a room. That's 50 people who value you. It's creating content
you're proud of, videos that reflect your
passion and expertise. It's steady incremental growth. Every subscriber, every comment, and every like is
a step forward. So let's get one thing straight. Vral moments are rare, and they're not the foundation of a sustainable YouTube career. Success comes from those who
show up, learn, and adapt. It's like a marathon. It's not a sprint. Now, let's tackle
the mental blocks that hold so many creators back. So let's talk about
common limiting beliefs. The first one. I'm
not good enough. Let me stop you right there. Nobody starts out as an expert. Your first videos
won't be perfect. Min certainly won't, but
perfection is not the goal. Progress is our goal. Second limiting belief. I don't have the right
equipment. Guess what? Some of the biggest creators started with just a smartphone. Focus on content
and storytelling. The year can come later. Third, limiting belief. I will fail if I don't go viral. Remember, going
viral is a bonus, is not a strategy. What matters is building
trust and consistency. Now, I'm going to teach you how to crush those
limiting beliefs. So the first way is by
flipping the script. Instead of saying,
I can do this, ask yourself, how can
I learn to do this? Second way of crushing those beliefs is
by starting small. You can set achievable goals like posting one video a week or getting your first hundred
subscribers in 30 days. The third way of crushing these beliefs is by
celebrating wins. Every milestone, no
matter how small, is the proof that
you're moving forward. Now let's take a peek into
the minds of successful tubs. What makes them stand up? So the first treat of successful YouTubers
is the resilience. They don't let low views or
negative comments stop them. They want to learn
and move forward. The second trait of successful
YouTubers is curiosity. You're always learning
from analytics, from the audience,
from other creators. So make sure that you're
taking notes because I'm about to share
really great insights. Consistency. They show up week
after week no matter what. And the first trait of successful YouTubers is
community first mentality. They always
prioritize connecting with their audience
over chasing views. So my key takeaway here is
that a successful YouTuber doesn't focus on what they can control, like the algorithm. They focus on what
they can control, creating valuable content,
engaging with their audience, and improving their craft. Now, let's address the
elephant in the room. How long will it take
to succeed on YouTube. If I'm going to be really honest with you,
it really depends. Every creator's
journey is unique. Some see traction in month. For others, it takes years. The key is to manage the expectations and
stay consistent. Now, let's talk
about milestones to expect your first
hundred subscribers. This can take two to
four weeks of hard work, but it's not the hardest and
most rewarding milestone. And these numbers are
just the expectations. Monetization, 1,000 subscribers,
and 4,000 watch hours. Plan for about four
to eight months of consistent uploads to hit
this goal. Steady growth. Once you build or
find your audience, growth becomes more predictable. So finally, let's talk about the secret sauce lasting
success on YouTube. So the first part of the formula is passion
plus consistency. If you're not passionate
about your niche, you will burn out. Passion
fuels consistency. The second step of the
formula is value first. Always ask, What can
I give my audience? Provide solutions, provide education
for your audience or for your ideal
customer profile. So the third part of the
formula is engagement. I highly recommend you
to respond to comments, ask for feedback, and make
your audience feel seen. And the fourth part of the formula is
continuous improvement. I want you to treat every video as a chance
to learn and grow from your own mistakes and make sure that you analyze
those re tension graphs. And the final and one of
the most important parts of our formula to long term
success is balance. Make sure that you don't sacrifice your mental
health for content. Make sure you rest and recharge. Now, I'm about to show
you your action plan. Firstly, define your why
why you're doing YouTube. Keep this reason for the
forefront to stay motivated. Then you can set a schedule. You can commit to a
realistic upload schedule, and you can stick to it. For example, one video a
week or two videos a month. You can also track progress. You can use analytics to measure what's working
and refine your strategy. You make sure that you
also celebrate every step. Every subscriber, every comment
and every is a victory. Make sure to celebrate it. Let me leave you with this. YouTube isn't just a platform. It's a chances for
your creativity, your passion, and your voice. The journey won't
always be easy. So make sure that you understand that every
step is worth it. And when you adopt
the right mindset, there is nothing stopping you
from achieving your goals. Now, make sure that you
take a deep breath, remind yourself why
you're doing this, and get ready to tackle
the next module. Your YouTube success story
is just the beginning.
3. Defining Your Niche And Content Strategy: Module two defining your niche. I've seen so many people who start their first
YouTube channel. They're excited about it, and they make videos
about everything. One day, they review
a tech gadgets. The next day they share their favorite
travel destinations, and then they dive into personal development
tips, and guess what? The subscriber
accounts barely news. Why? Because they always
try to speak to everyone, and in doing so, they
end up speaking to no one and make sure to
change your perspective. My suggestion is for you to find one problem
you're so passionate about solving and making it your mission to solve it
better than anyone else. So that's why you can
focus on a single topic. For example, helping people
prepare for ILS exams. The moment I stopped being a generalist and I
became a specialist, I saw consistent growth. So in this module,
I'm going to help you avoid the same mistake. That's who many students make
and set you on the path to choosing a niche
that aligns with your passions and
what audience needs. So you may be thinking,
What is a niche? A niche is your channel's focus. The specific area where
you provide value is the bridge between
what you love doing and what people are
actively searching for. Without a niche, your
channel lacks direction. And it's usually harder for viewers to understand why
they should subscribe to you. Write down three topics
you're passionate about and you have
expertise in next, research the demand
using tools like Google Trends or YouTube's
search suggestions. Which topic has the
perfect balance of interest and your ability
to provide value. Think of your niche as a tree. The broader topic like
fitness is a trunk. Your sub niche, such as body weight exercises for
beginners, is a branch. The more specific
your sub niche is, the more definite
your audience and your needs and the needs
are going to become. And I want you to
understand some hard truth. Which is broad niches have
a lot of competition, but sub niches help
you stand out. So a sub niche allows
you to address a more smaller and
more targeted audience with laser focus. Starting specific
doesn't actually mean you will stay
there forever. Many creators expand once they build a loyal following
from that sub niche. So there are a couple of
questions that we have to ask yourself to find
a perfect niche. So the first question is, what unique perspective or skills can I bring
to this topic? So being unique is
also really important, having unique perspectives
or unique skills. The next question that you
want to ask yourself is, who am I most excited to help? So write down your answers and
refine them until you have a crystal clear niche
and a sub niche. So the third part, defining
your target audience. Your niche isn't just
about the topic. It's also about who you're helping and your
target audience is the specific group
of people who will find your content most valuable. So understanding your
audience helps you create content that
truly resonates. And a definite audience
means that you will know exactly how
to market your videos. And there is a step that every YouTube has to follow in order to
succeed on YouTube. Which is creating an audience
persona or audience avatar, and you should answer
these questions. What are their demographics,
age, gender, location? What are their goals, challenges, and paint points? What kind of content are they already
consuming on YouTube? So make sure that you write the answers to
all these questions because they will
be important in other parts of content
creation on YouTube. Part four, building
a content strategy. Now that you know your niche and your audience is time to
create a content strategy. So this strategy will serve as your roadmap for consistent
in high quality uploads. A content strategy
ensures that every video that you make aligns
with your niche and audience. And your strategy should
include video ideas, uploads frequency, and
goals for each video. Now, here's an
actionable takeaway. Yeah, I highly
recommend you to plan your first ten videos based on your sub niche
and target audience. And I have a formula
of doing it. Three of those videos
should address common problems or questions
in your own niche. The next three
video ideas should showcase your unique
perspectives or skills, or some people call
it unfair advantage. And then the next
story video should be inspired by trending topics
in your own sub niche. So finding your niche is like finding your
voice on YouTube. It's your way of saying, This is who I am and this
is how I can help you. So remember, it's okay to
start small and specific. Your niche isn't a prison. It's a launch pad. And once you've mastered it, you can explore some
broader horizons. So make sure to take
the first step today, define your niche and create
your audience avatar, and thank you so
much for watching this module and see
you in the next one.
4. Ideation And Planning: Module three, ideation
and planning. Successful creators don't
just throw ideas at the wall. They actually have a system. They understand their
audience and they align their content with
what people want to see. This is what we're going
to learn in this module, how to generate video ideas
that not only excite you, but also resonate
with your audience. Part one, generating
viral video ideas. Creating viral ideas
is not about luck. It's about a strategy. Viral videos solve
a specific problem. They evoke strong emotions, and they jump on timely trends. So the first key insight
that I want you to understand is that viral
ideas often tap into three universal emotions. First one, curiosity. The next one, surprise, and the third one
is inspiration. And make sure that you're taking notes as you're
watching these classes. The second key insights that I want you to
understand is that they address a common pinpoints or equation that
many people have. And the third key
insight is trending topics and challenges
can actually skyrocket your
visibility on YouTube. So there is a
formula called CUP, and it's used for
idea generation. The first part, curiosity. What is a question your
audience would love answered? The second part that
starts with you, urgency. What is a topic that feels timely and important right now? The third parts passion. What is something you genuinely care about that can add value? So you can start brainstorming five video ideas
using this formula. For example, I tried popular trend for seven
days, here's what happened. So this is an example
of taking ideas from other niches that have proven very successful and bringing it to your own
niche or sub niche. And a common example of
that is, for example, if you have a niche
and you're in a small there are multiple sub
niches within that niche, and you want to create video ideas from other
sub niches in your niche. For example, in the
education space, you can take ideas. If your niche is about
preparing for SAT exams, you can take ideas from other sub niches like
preparation for aisles, preparation for ACT, and all the other sub niches that
were proven to go viral. Part two, tools for finding
high demand topics. Instead of guessing
what will work, you can let the data guide you. There are countless
tools that can help you identify what your
audience is searching for. Tools like Google Trends and YouTube's audit complete can
reveal some trending topics. And there are also
analytics tools like Tube Buddy and VideQ and they provide data on keywords,
trends and competition. But if you want, you can also
do it manually on your own, but it's going to take a
little more time, but still you can also do it on your own. Part three, aligning those video ideas
with audience needs. Your audience needs should
always guide your content. A great video idea is not
just about what is trending. It's about what is relevant to your viewers or your own
ideal customer profile. So I believe that we wrote down your audience avatar
or their pinpoints, their struggles,
their demographics, and all those stuff. And this is where it's
really important. So the best video ideas are those that solve
those problems and are those that inspire
your target audience. So make sure that you use that audience avatar to
generate video ideas as well. You can also pay
attention to comments and questions on your
existing videos. You can also look
at your competitors most popular videos
for inspiration. But if you are going to copy the video idea is usually
not going to do that well. But if you use a
strategy that I told creating video ideas
from other sub niches, then those video ideas
usually do really great. Ideas are the lifeblood
of your channel. But remember, ideation isn't just about volume.
It's about focus. The more aligned your
video ideas are with your audience's needs and
your audience's passions, the more successful you will be. Think of your content
as a bridge between your audience's problems
and your own solutions. With the tools and
strategies we've covered, you are now equipped to consistently come up
with ideas that inspire, engage, and solve problems. So grab your notebook, start brainstorming and remember every great channel starts
with one great idea. Thank you so much for watching, and let's see in the next one.
5. Eye-Catching Thumbnails: Welcome to Module five of our Skillshare
course on YouTube. If you've made it this far, you're already on your
way to matching one of the most crucial elements of YouTube video success,
the thumbnail. But here's something that
most creators overlook. A thumbnail is not
just an image. It's a powerful
visual hook that can make or break your
video's performance. Have you ever wondered
why some videos seem to get all the clicks while others with similar
content don't? Well, thumbnail plays
a massive role. And in this module, we will break down the
anatomy of great thumbnails, give you the tools
that you need to design your own
thumbnails effectively, and show you how to
test and optimize to make sure you're getting
the best possible results. And by the way, you will get to learn some secret tiffs for thumbnail design that you won't find anywhere else.
Stay tuned for that. The anatomy of great
YouTube video thumbnails. To truly master the arts
of thumbnail creation, you must understand the
anatomy of a great thumbnail. So thumbnails are
not just images. They are a visual
storytelling tool that helps potential viewers decide whether your video is worth
the time or not. So in this session,
we're going to break down the core components that make a thumbnail not
just good but irresistible. You might think a great
thumbnail is simply about a flashy design
or bold colors, but trust me, there is so much more at play when it
comes to the psychology. I click the right.
Let's start by unpacking each essential
elements of a great thumbnail. First up, let's
talk about colors. So colors play a crucial
role in grabbing attention. But what you might not know is that the
right combination of colors can subconsciously evoke certain emotions
in your viewers. High contrast colors, bright colors that
contrast with one another, such as red and white, blue and yellow,
purple and orange, and those sorts of colors are particularly effective in
creating visual interest. So these combinations are
not just eye catching. They help your thumbnail stand out in a sea of
other thumbnails, but here is a trick. Ccraus should never
be overwhelming. Subtly, when pit with high
contrast works wonders. In addition, colors can tap
into specific emotions. For example, color, red, can be excitement,
danger or urgency. Make sure to write these
things down on your notebook. Blue represents trust,
colness or professionalism. Yellow represents optimism, happiness, and
attention grabbing. Green shows growth,
calmness, and safety. So my tip for you is
to try using colors strategically to match the theme or emotional tone of your video. If you're creating a tutorial, column tones like blue and green can signal
trustworthiness. If you're making a
high energy video, bright and bold colors like red or yellow can
generate excitement. The next component of a gray thumbnail faces and
emotions, the human elements. It's no secret that
thumbnails with human faces are more likely to catch a
viewer's attention. The human face is
naturally engaging, and it usually helps build
an immediate connection. Facial expressions,
in particular, can evoke strong emotions
in your audience, making them one to click to learn more. And here the thing. The emotion shown on a
face is almost everything. Tumbnils with exaggerated
facial expressions, whether that's shock, joy, curiosity, or fear are kind of proven to perform
better than others. When you show emotion
on your face, it pulls the viewer in and makes them think,
What's going on here? And there are some types of facial expressions
that work really well. The first type is
surprise or shock. Eye eyes wide open,
mouth slightly ajab. Those expressions trigger
curiosity and make people wonder what could possibly
cause such a reaction. The second type of
facial expression is excitement or happiness. A broad smile or wide eyes
can convey enthusiasm. This works really well for feel good content or anything that
is fun and lighthearted. Next type of facial
expression is curiosity. Raised eyebrows and a questioning
look signal intrigue, prompting viewers to
click and find out more. And the next type of
facial expression that works really well
is fear or urgency. Raised eyeballs and a
slightly open mouth suggests something
urgent or dangerous, making people feel the need
to know what's at stake. And here's my tip if you're
creating a tutorial video. Having a face with a confident, reassuring expression like a slight smile can
increase trust. On the other hand, for more
intense or dramatic videos, you can go for more
dynamic expressions so that you can create
urgency enterprise. Concise, bold and impactful. Your text serves as a reinforcement of
your video's message. The combinations of
visuals and text should clearly communicate
what the video is about. But there is a fine line between being descriptive
and being overwhelming. Too much text or overly complicated text or language can actually
turn viewers off. So the best performing
thumbnails typically have zero to three words. Any more than that, your
thumbnail becomes cluttered. The text should be so short, snappy, and easy to
read at a glance. And I've seen so many
people making a mistake in the text placement on the
YouTube video thumbnails. So make sure that you
keep the text close to the sense of a fami where
there is empty space. Text that is not list
in the corners or areas with busy backgrounds can
be a little hard to read. And No let's talk
about font choice. You can use fonts
that you use usually so that your audience can really understand that
that's your video. And I have recommend
you when choosing fonts for your personal
brand or your business, make sure to choose the one that is bold
and easy to read, even on small screens. Make sure that you avoid decorative fonts that might
look great on a desktop, but they lose clarity
on mobile devices. Also ensure your text contrasts
well with the background. Light text on dark
backgrounds or dark text on light backgrounds
works really good, well. And here's my tip for you. Use text that
promises a benefit. For example, instead of just
writing how to learn French, you could write in seven
days or the ultimate guide. This adds a sense of
urgency or exclusivity, and that helps
attract more clicks. It's not just about throwing together a few random elements. Your thumbnail needs to
have a good composition. The rule of throts is a compositional principle where you divide your image into a three by three grid and place important elements along
the lines or intersections. This creates a more dynamic
and engaging visual. Whether it's a face
product or your text, placing key elements
on these lines guides the viewer's
eye naturally. Now let's talk
about focal points. Every gray thumbnail has
a clear focal point. Whether it's your face, the key message or an
intriguing visual element, there should be one thing that
immediately draws the eye. If everything in your thumbnail
demands equal attention, viewers might feel overwhelmed. I honestly understand you. You might be tempted to add every cool detail
to your thumbnail. After all, the more you add, the better it must look, right? Wrong. Too many elements can confuse the viewer and make
the thumbnail feel cluttered. Great thumbnails are usually
the ones that are often simple and straightforward
with minimal distractions. If your thumbnail has
a face, bold text, and a clear focal points,
that's usually enough. Keep it clean and make sure every element
serves a purpose. So here's my best tip for you. One in depth, simplify. Ask yourself, does this
element add to the story? Does it help convey the emotion or message
I'm trying to get across? If not, it's best
to leave it out. Now, let's talk about types of successful YouTube
video thumbnails. The design approach
for your thumbnail can differ depending on the type of video
you're creating. Different video formats. Have different visual
cues that work best. So now I'm going to give
you a breakdown of some of the most successful
thumbnail styles or specific video types. First type, how to and
tutorial thumbnails. These thumbnails often feature
clear text or direct text, combine it with relevant images. Think about words like how
s or beginner's guide. To signal to instantly signal
what the video is about. So these thumbnails
may also include step by step numbers
or phrases like quick tips or the
secret too so that you can give a sense of
value and efficiency. For reaction and
challenge thumbnails, those videos typically feature big expressive faces so that
they can convey emotion. Whether it's shock, surprise, or awe adding texts like, I can't believe this or shocking reaction
appears perfectly with those big
facial expressions. And for challenge videos, strong emotions
like, can I do it? The ultimate challenge
can drive curiosity, logs and storytelling
thumbnails. Lock thumbnails
work best with in the moments photos that show
real emotions or situations. Text should be used
to tease the story, like the day everything changed
or I was surprised by so that they can tease viewers to click and make sure that you
have in the moment photo, the photo that was
taken in the middle or in the most interesting
part of your video. So with all these components and thumbnail styles in mind, you now have the
framework to create thumbnails that are
not only eye catching, but effective in
drawing your audience. By combining high contrast, compelling facial
expressions, powerful texts, and a strategic layout, you will be able to
increase your click through rates and boost your
channel's performance. So how can you start
implementing all these? In the next section, we will
dive into Now we've covered the CORth principles of what
makes a great thumbnail. Now let's talk about the
tools that you need to bring these elements into
life. Here the thing. While you don't need to
be a food shop expert, having the right tools will make your life so much easier. Let me tell you one thing. You can create stunning
thumbnails in just a few clicks, using the right tools. For example, my best
performing video was created in less
than a minute on Canva. So there are plenty of options, but today we will cover the most popular and
accessible ones. So the first two I want you
I want to mention is Canva. If you've never used Canva, you try you are in for treat. It's an intuitive
dragon drop design tool that makes thumb decoration
as easy as possible. Next up, Adobe Photoshop. If you're someone who wants more control over your design, Photoshop is still
the gold standard. And now I'm using
it Adobe Photoshop. But for over a year, I've been using Canva, and it was still amazing. But if you want more
control and if you want to create even more
advanced thumbnails, Adobe Photoshop is your place. But I want to warn you, it has a steeper learning
curve, but don't worry. We will cover, and let's
not forget about Figma. Figma is a fantastic tool if you need to
collaborate with a team, and it's also cloud based, which means you can access
your designs from anywhere. So regardless of which
tool you choose, the key is matching one of them. So you can design your thumbnails quickly
and efficiently. And once you're comfortable
with the tools, your thumbnails will look more polished and
professional in no time. But here's a kicker. Designing a thumbnail is
not the half of the bottle. Designing a thumbnail is
only the half of the bottle. Designing a thumbnail is
only the half of the battle. Even with all the right
elements in the best tools, your thumbnail could still flop if it's not tested
and optimized. Next, let's dive into a
topic that many creators skip testing and optimizing
their thumbnails. Creating a great thumbnail
is only the beginning. To make sure it actually
works, you need to test it. But you may be thinking, how do I know if my thumbnail is performing really
well? You can just get. Thankfully, YouTube has
ABTest thumbnail feature, and it gives you insights on watch time of each thumbnail. And you can also
look at the CTR. Click the rates of your
overall video as well. But I highly recommend you look at your AD testing results, and they can give you
a pretty clear idea of what your audience wants. Creating an eye
catching thumbnail involves understanding the
anatomy of we thumbnails, getting the right tools, and most importantly, testing and optimizing your
designs over time. So these strategies
that I've talked about you will
definitely help you increase your CTR and
grow your channel by making your videos irresistible
to potential viewers. Thank you so much for watching and see you in the next one.
6. Scripting And Storytelling: Module six, Mastering
scripting and storytelling. In this module, we're
going to go over the crucial aspects of creating compelling scripts and
mastering storytelling. Whether you're creating a video, podcast or any type of content
that involves a narrative, the way you structure
and tell your story can make or break your
viewer engagement. So in this module, you will learn exactly how to
capture tension from the very first
second and keep it throughout your entire
video. What if I told you? The way you structure your script could determine
if your audience stays engaged or clicks away
within the first 30 seconds. Let's get into how you
can create a script that hooks them immediately and keeps them coming back for more. It comes to scripting,
structure is everything. Without a clear and
engaging structure, even the best ideas
can fall flat. So how do you create
a script that keeps your audience engaged
from start to finish? The hook, the power of
a great introduction. The first five to 10 seconds of your scripts are critical. And this is when you need
to hook your audience. If you don't grab the attention, here they will be gone
before the intro finishes. And the key here is to
create a curiosity gap. Give your audience a
reason to stay and find out what happens next. Whether it's by asking
a provocative question, making a bold statements
or teasing a mystery. You want to spark
curiosity and make them feel they need
to continue watching. And in my skill share
course about scripting, I gave examples of different
types of hooks that you can write and how to use storytelling in a way
that maximizes retention. And now I'm going to
give you a couple of examples of those
effective hooks. I was skeptical about this, but after trying
it, I was shocked. Or another example of
that would be what I'm about to show you could change
the way you think forever. Or if you've ever
struggled with, you're going to
state the problem, you need to watch this video. So here's my best for you. Keep the hook personal,
relatable, or intriguing. The goal is to promise
something really valuable without giving it away. So it's all about building
curiosity from the very start. After you hook,
it's time to lead your viewers into the
body of your video, and this is where the real
storytelling happens. You want to keep the energy high while delivering the information
your audience needs. And here's how to
structure the body. Clear and concise points. Break down your content into bite sized digestible sections. And you can also use bullet
points or numbered lists or subheadings to make the content scannable and easy to follow. You can also use examples. People usually remember
stories, not abstract concepts. Instead of just saying, You need to organize your thoughts, show an example of someone organizing their
thoughts in action. Piercing is key to
keeping attention. Move at a steady pace. Don't drag on any
points too long. On the flip side,
don't rush two things. Let your story breathe. One tiful technique is the problem solution,
action formula. So the problem, identify an issue your
audience is facing, and that kind of creates relatability that
viewers really like. Next sep solution. Make sure that you offer a
solution to that problem, which is kind of
like a value part. And then action show
what the viewer can do next or how to implement
the solution practically. So here's my tip about writing the body textion
using this formula. Always use open loops throughout your script to
keep your audience hooked. Always promise an answer to a question or payoff
for a scenario, and only resolve
it a little later. This keeps the
viewer interested in finding out what happens next. So the conclusion here is
where you close the loop, you've been building
throughout the video. This is where you can
give your audience a clear takeaway
or call to action. Don't just say,
thanks for watching your script with
something very memorable. Whether it is call to
action to another video or NN screen or a thought
provoking statement. Examples of those
impactful conclusions are now you know how those acts, which is solving some sort
of problem of their own. But are you ready to
take the next step? Another example of that would be if you found this helpful, here's what you can do next. Or another example would be, this isn't the end. In fact, this is
just the beginning, and you can create a call to action to one of your videos. So you've learned about the
structure of your script. But there is a powerful element of storytelling
that many creators overlook the techniques
you use to tell the story. What are the tools that
great storytellers use to create emotional depth and key viewers glutes
at the scripts. So the best scripts don't
just convey information. They tell a compelling story. It pulls the viewer
in emotionally. So storytelling is an art. And there are several
powerful techniques that you can use to mast it. So let's break them down. So the first technique, which is the hero's journey, every story needs a hero, and your audience
loves a good journey. By positioning your audience as the hero and showcasing
the transformation, you can create a more
emotionally engaging narrative. So the classic hero's
journey involves, first, the call to adventure. You present the challenge
or opportunity for growth. Then trial. You overcome a lot of obstacles
and you learn lessons. Next up, transformation,
showing how your hero or the viewer has changed after
following your advice. So these are just
very short versions of this hero's journey, and I explained the
full version in my skill shared script
writing course. For example, in a
video on productivity, you could show how someone struggled with procrastination, then gradually learn techniques
to improve focus and ultimately transformed into a productive version
of themselves. And here's my tip. Always frame your
content in a way that your viewer can relate
to you as the hero. When they see themselves
in the story, they are more likely to
connect with the message. Next up, conflict
and resolution. Every good story has a conflict, something that the
hero must overcome. This conflict is where
the tension lies and it isn't what's key and it's something that
keeps people hooked. Without conflict,
there's no reason for the viewer to care
about the resolution. So as you're
crafting your story, think about what
problem your viewer is facing and how they will
resolve by the end. An example of that would be if your video is about
increasing productivity, the conflict could be feeling
overwhelmed by tasks. So the resolution
could be implementing a simple scheduling system that makes the day
more manageable. Next step, emotion and empathy. People honestly connect with
emotion, more than facts. So make sure that you
craft your script in a way that caps into
your view as emotions. Whether it's humor, excitements, fear or sadness make the
viewer feel something, and thus create a much stronger connection
to your content. So one effective
technique is using relatable scenarios
that evoke empathy. For example, if you're
sharing a success story, tell it from the perspective
of someone who's struggled. Your viewers will definitely see themselves in that person, and they feel a
deeper connection. So by combining these
storytelling techniques, the hero's journey, conflict and resolution
and emotional engagement, you can transform your
content from simply informative into something
very memorable and impactful. Viewers won't just walk
away with knowledge. They will have
experienced a journey that leaves them wanting
to come back for more. Now that you've got a strong structure and powerful
storytelling techniques, let's talk about the tools
and the tips that can help you write your
script efficiently and elevate it to
the next level. But which ones writing
great scripts take time. But there are tools and strategies that can
help you write faster, stay organized, and
elevate your content. So there are several
software options out to help streamline the
script writing process, including the final draft. It's a professional tool used by script writers in
the film industry, and it really helps to structure the scripts and
format it correctly. The next one is Celtics, a more affordable
option for beginners, and they offer similar
formatting features and storyboarding tools. Next up, Google Docs. And it's a simple and
collaborative tool that lets you easily draft edit and
share scripts with others. Next up, let's talk
about outlining tools. Before jumping into the script, it's so useful to outline
your ideas first. Tools like Trello,
Notion or mind Mr. Can really help you create a visual roadmap
for your video, organize your ideas, and make sure your structure
flows logically. Once your script is written, don't skip the editing phase. Use tools like Ramy
or Hemingway edits to fine tune your
writing and make sure that it is clear,
concise, and effectful. And here's my
special tip for you. Always take a break
after writing and come back to your
script with fresh eyes. Sometimes the best
edits come when you're not looking
at it constantly. Thank you so much for watching this class and see you next one.
