Transcripts
1. Introduction: Hello everyone and welcome to this class where you're going to learn how to use Google
barred from start to finish. We're going to focus on
three different use cases. Youtube automation,
marketing and copywriting and SEO or
search engine optimization. As a content creator myself, I've been using Googlebot
for the last month. How many come up with new
ideas for my YouTube channel to create for marketing campaigns
from email newsletters, two different ads on
social media platforms. And lastly, to help me write better content on my website, blog post articles,
as well as studying my competitors websites to see how the ranking
on search results. It doesn't matter if you've
never used this tool before as I'm going to show
you everything step-by-step. So you can apply these
concepts on your own projects.
2. Google Bard Signup: First, we need to sign
up to Google Bard. So we're going to open
our browser of choice, and we're just going to
type in Google Bard. And we're going to click
on the first result, which is Bard.google.com and
this is Bard's homepage. Keep in mind you
need a Google or a Gmail account in
order to use Bard. So if you don't have that, you're going to
have to create one. But if you have a Gmail account, you're going to click here,
sign in or here, sign in. It's going to ask you to sign
in with your Gmail account. I created this one
for this example, so I'm going to click there. And as you can see, it takes
me back to Bard's Home page. But now it doesn't say sign in, it just says, try Bart. So we're going to click there. This window is going to show up. You need to accept the
terms and the privacy. I agree. And it's telling us
that Bard is an experiment. Please remember, it doesn't
get things right every time, but it will get better
with your feedback. And you can opt
in if you want to receive e mail
updates about Bard. In my case, I'm not interested. But if you want,
of course, you're going to click the box here. And then you're going
to click Continue. And this is the main
window of Bard. Now we can move on
to the next lesson, where I'm going to show you
how the interface works.
3. Understanding The Interface: Now let's take a quick
look at the interface. To the left we have
the new Chat button. Up here. To the right we have our Google account and this grid with all
the Google apps. But the important things
are these three here. You can use either light
theme or dark theme, and you can also take a
look at your public links. At the moment, we don't have
any, but as you can see, you can share chats or
individual prompt and responses, and you're going to see
how that works later on. Let's close this window. We also have this icon here, which is the help icon. You can check the updates. You can click on Help. And you also have the frequently
asked questions, as well as the Privacy hub, where it's going to explain
the barred privacy. Notice this icon here
is the Bart activity. At the moment, nothing
is showing here because we haven't
created any prompt yet. But we can click
here and choose if Bard stores our activity in our Google account
or it doesn't. It's on by default,
but you can turn it off if you want
to. Let's go back. You can also turn auto
delete on or off. Let's close this window. But the most important thing
about this whole window is this bar down here where
it says Enter a Prompt here. Bard is a chat pot, and it works exactly the
same as chat GPT and Bing. You're able to type something in which is called a prompt. Google Bard is going
to give you an answer, like if you were
having a conversation. And now we can move on
to the next lesson, where I'm going to
actually show you how to use Google Bard and
how prompts work.
4. How to Use Google Bard: Let's start using Google barred. I'm going to click here. Don't show again. And as I said, here is
where you're going to enter a prompt to
receive a response. You can ask, will
pretty much anything write a poem about pizza? I'm going to press
Enter on my keyboard or click the arrow here, Submit. And it's going to
sink for a bit. And in less than 5 seconds, I have an ode to pizza. So we can read a
bit tender though, a sauce so sweet, taught with cheese and all my tweets and so on and so forth. There's a couple of other icons that I want you to
take a look at. First, we have this icon here. We could edit the text, write a poem about vegan pizza. And we press Enter
on our keyboard, and now we have a
different response. So a vegan pizza ODE, but we can also come
up here where it says view or their drafts
and click on the arrow. And Google barred gives us three different drafts
for the same prompt. We can also click here. This is the second draft, a sonnet for the vegan pizza. And of course the poem
is a bit different, or we can click here as well. This is the third draft, a vegans old to pizza. And we can also click this icon here to regenerate the drafts. Once again, we will buy
this thinking and now it's given us a completely
new poem recently, in one of the latest updates, they've added some
accessibility features. You could click the icon
and Google bard would start reading the poem out loud. And if we scroll down, we can see we have some
other icons down here. Keep in mind, Google barred takes feedback from its users. So if you'd like the answer, I do recommend that
you give a thumbs up. But of course, if you
think the answer is wrong, you could click bad response. Now let's try with
a different prompt. What is the weather
like in London? Now, press Enter. If I click this icon here, I can modify my response. I can make this shorter
or longer or simpler, more casual, or
more professional. Let's say I want a
longer response. I'm going to click there. And Googlebot starts thinking,
and here we have it. Now we have a more detailed answer about the
weather in London. Now let's take a
look at this icon here, share and export. We could either click
Share and we could share only the prompt and
the response or the entire chat
create public link. That's how you share it. Cancel. We can also export to Google Docs or even
a draft in Gmail. So I'm going to click
here graphed in Gmail. And now I could
click open Gmail, it opens in a new tab automatically, and
there we have it. And I could delete this or
send it like irregular e-mail. So I'm going to delete this. And it takes me
back to Google bar. And you can also click
here and Google it. And it gives me some
search related topics, like whether in London now
and if you click there, it's going to open
a different tab, like a regular Google search. Let's close this.
And the last thing are these three dots here, more. And we could either copy, and now it has been copied
to the clipboard or we could report a legal issue if there's something wrong with a response. Now, let's say you want to
try with a different prompt. Let's come up here to the
three dots. Click there. And we could either
pin this response or rename it and type
pizza poem rename. Or we can click
again and delete. Yes, I want to confirm. And now we're back
at the beginning
5. Example: YouTube Channel: As I said, in the
introduction of this class, we're going to focus on
three different use cases. And the first one is
Youtube automation. In this essen, I'm going to
show you how you can use this tool to come
up with new ideas and generate new content, both for existing channels or if you're creating
a brand new one. Let's say you want to create a new Youtube channel
from scratch. You can come down here and
tell Google Bard to give you ten name ideas for a new
Youtube channel about travel. We press Enter and we let
Google Bard think and it gives you ten name ideas for a new Youtube channel
about travel. Let's say I like number
six. Almost fearless. I can now come down here
and ask Google Bard. Great, I Number six, can you give me ten
video title ideas for this Youtube channel? And once again, Google
Bars is going to start to think and it's given
me ten video ideas, but I don't like the title
of the channel here, so I'm going to ask
Bart to rewrite it. Give me ten video title ideas without the channel
name in the title. And once again, we have
ten video title ideas without the name of the
channel in the title, in my opinion, is much better. I could now create a video. My first solo trip, how
I conquered my fears. How to travel on a budget. Ten tips for saving money. Adventures in city Name
Five must do activities, but we can take advantage
of this even further. I'm going to come down
here and ask Bard, please write the script
for number five. The city will be Tokyo and
Google Bard is going to take information from Google to write a script
for number five. First we have the
intro to the video. So hi everyone,
welcome to my channel. Today I'm going to
be talking about five muscular
activities in Tokyo. And then it's giving us
the body of the script. It's telling you to
visit Sensoji temple, a very famous place. And again, it's giving you
images of these places, go shopping in Shibuya. It also tells you that Tokyo is a footie paradise,
which is true. I've been fortunate
enough to travel there and there's a lot
of great food to try. So I could also create a video
about things to eat Tokyo, and I could use Google Bard to help me generate that video. And it also gives us the outro. Now that we have the
script for the video, I've asked Ul Bard to write a short description so I can upload this
video to Youtube. And here is a short description
for my Youtube video. So of course, this is
the title of the video, Adventures in Tokyo Five
Must Do Activities. And now we have the description. And it also tells us that the description is short and to the point what it includes. And some tips for writing a short Youtube
video description. And before finishing
the upload process, I could come down here
and tell Google Bard give me 20 video
tags for this video. And once again, in a
matter of seconds, Google Bard gives me 20
video tags for this video. And I could simply
come down here, look for the three dots, click more and copy. And after uploading the video, I would simply paste
these video tags. You don't have to
spend several hours thinking about the channel name, or video titles, or a script, or a video description, because this tool can do it all.
6. Example: Marketing and Copywriting: You can also use Google Bard
for marketing purposes. In my case, as a
content creator, I like to use it for
copyrighting as well. And I think if you match both, you'll get better results. So let me show you
how that's done. As usual, we're going
to come down here to the prompt bar and I'm going to type in the
following prompt. Write an e mail newsletter, promoting my latest video. This video is about
the best times to publish on social media. And this is Google
Bard's response. We have the subject,
the body of the e mail, High name of your reader. In this video, I share the
results of a recent study that analyzed the engagement data of over 1 million
social media posts. You can watch the video here and it adds a link to the video. I hope you'll find
this video helpful. Thank you, and again, the name
of your e mail subscriber. In my opinion, this is a
pretty good email newsletter, a body that's interesting
and to the point. We also have a link to
the video that increases engagement and
you're also giving your subscriber the
chance to talk to you. Now let's keep the
marketing campaign going. We can come down here
to the prompt bar and I'm going to write
the following prompt. Write a Facebook ad
for my business, a social media marketing agency. Make the ad
persuasive and funny, target new business owners. And I'm going to
click here, Submit. And again, in a
matter of seconds, we have our Facebook ad ready. And of course, it doesn't
have to be Facebook. This could be Instagram
or any other platform. First we have the headline. Are you a new
business owner who's struggling to get your
social media right? It tells you to use an
image, in this case, a picture of a stressed out business owner sitting
at their desk. We also have the
body for the ad. You're just starting out,
You don't have the time or the budget to hire a full
time social media manager. And it tells the reader
what we're going to do as a social media
marketing agency. It also tells you to write
down this guarantee, so if you're not happy
with our services, you can counsel at any time
and get a full refund. Obviously, this will depend on your own business if you
offer refunds or not. And it ends with a testimonial
and a sense of urgency. If you remember at the
beginning of this lesson, I told you that I like
to mix marketing and copywriting together because I feel it gives best results. Again, we're going to come
down here to the prompt bar. And this is the prompt I'm going to use write the ad again, using the problem Agitate,
Solve Copyrighting framework. There are many different
copyrighting frameworks. And of course, you don't need to use this one specifically, but in my opinion, the PAS one can give you
very good results. This is the answer that
Google Bart has given us. If you take a closer look here, you can see that the
headline and the image are exactly the same
as in the previous ad, but the body is
completely different. And of course, now we have
three different paragraphs, with the problem being the first one, agitate and Solution. Now let me show you a couple of other copyrighting examples. Let's come up here, click on the three dots and the delete. Confirm. Come back to the prompt bar and I'm going
to type the following. Create a copy for
a product listing on this website
about this product. And I'm going to
click here, Submit. And again in a
couple of seconds. Sure. Here is the product
listing copy for this product. On this website, we
have the headline with the name and
model of the product. It gives us a couple
of bullet points, some of the specs of this phone. If we keep scrolling down, we have a description of
the product as well as a call to action and some
additional information. My recommendation is
that you double check, because 95% of the
information is right, but some of it might be wrong. But now we could repurpose
this information. We could tell Google Bard. Now turn this into
a full block post. Press Enter on the keyboard, and now Google Bard has
used the information of the product listing to
create a full block post. The title is the same, but we have a different
introduction and it has expanded the bullet points
into small paragraphs. And now we have the design, a bit of information about
to display the camera, the video features
of this phone. And of course, if you're not satisfied with the
answer because it's very similar to the information on
the product listing, you can always change your
prompt and enter a new one. Now let's take a look at the last example
of copyrighting. In this lesson, let's come
here, delete Confirm. And I'm going to tell
Google Bard the following. Help me write the
introduction for an E book about productivity. And of course, it doesn't have
to be about productivity, it can be about
anything you want. I'm going to click here, Submit. And here we have
the introduction. Do you ever feel like you're
always running behind? Like there are
never enough hours in the day to get
everything done. If so, you're not alone. This E book is designed to help you improve
your productivity. And it tells you some
of the topics that are going to be covered
in this ebook. And it ends here, What are you waiting for? Let's get started. But in my case, I want to take advantage of Google Bard and its ability to write more
content or generate new ideas. So I'm going to ask it to write the first chapter of this ebook. And again, as always
in under a minute, we have the first chapter, the Importance of Productivity
written down For us, we have a small introduction
of the topic and a few bullet points with some
tips about productivity. And as you can see in
the last sentence, it even tells you. In the next chapter,
we're going to discuss some specific productivity
tips and techniques. Of course, we could ask
Google Bard to write the second chapter and third,
and so on and so forth. What I like to do is
tell Google Bard turn this chapter into a couple
of short social media posts. And if I scroll
down, you can see the answer that Google
Bard has given me. Both of them are very short, which is what I wanted. We even have an example of
a title for this E book, which would be the
importance of productivity. But you could change the title of the ebook if you wanted to. And we also have
post number two. Here are a few tips for developing a more
productive mindset. And if they want to learn more, they can download
this ebook for free. In my case, I don't necessarily recommend that you offer
your whole ebook for free, but maybe one or two
chapters will be fine, and now we can move on
to the next lesson.
7. Example: SEO Strategy: In this essen, I'm
going to show you how you can use Bard for SEO, which stands for Search
Engine Optimization, Meaning the higher
your website ranks, the higher the chances
of making new sales, getting more clients and
other business opportunities. Once again, we're going to open a new window in Google Bard. And this time we're going
to imagine that you have an e commerce that
sells doc products. And this is the prompt
that we're going to use. Give me five block
post titles for a website that
sells doc products. And Google Bart gives
us five options. We're going to come down
to the prompt bar once again and we're going
to start typing now, right the block post
for number three. But we need to give Bart
a bit more of information so we can improve the
SEO of this block post. So I'm also going
to tell Bart right, 600 words or more
and use headings. This is not a rule of thumb. But generally, the longer
your article or blog post, the higher the chances of doing better in the
search results. And we're telling it to use
headings because it's also beneficial for SEO and
the website structure. Then we're going to
click here, Submit. This is the title, Training
Tips for New Puppy Owners. We have a very
small introduction here and we also get some
headings that we asked for. We have housebreaking
as the first one. We have another heading
here, basic commands, another heading
here, socialization, a conclusion, and
some additional tips. And if we come down
here and we click on the three dots and then copy, we can open a word counter
website just to double check. We can come here and
right click Paste. Go back up, and as you can
see we have 658 words, which is exactly what
we asked bard to do, to write 600 words or
more and use headings. Now let's keep improving
the SEO of this block post. Let's come back down here
and this time we're going to type the following prompt
now at a metod description, include keyword puppy training. If you don't know what
a metod description is, we're going to open
a new window here on Google and type
in puppy training. And this small description
that you can see here in the search results is known
as the metod description. And what this does is give a sneak peek of the
website or the block post, and you want to try to catch
the reader's attention. So we're going to close this
window now and click Submit. And again, we have
a metodscription with the keyword puppy training, which would be puppy training
tips for new puppy owners. Learn how to house
break your puppy, teach them basic commands
and socialize them. These tips will help you set up your puppy up for a
lifetime of success. And this isn't a
bad metodscription, but in my opinion,
it's too long. So again, we want
to try and improve the SEO of our website
as much as possible. We're going to come down here to the prompt bar and
tell Google bard, make the metodscription 100-130 characters long and
include a call to action. In my experience, this
is the sweet spot. Even Google's support is
going to tell you that metadscriptions should be
50-160 characters long. So again, we're going
to click here Submit. And as you can see now we have a shorter version of the last answer, puppy
training tips. Learn how to house
break your puppy, teach basic commands
and socialize them. Get more tips on our website. Now we want to take a
look at link building, which is also
extremely important. When it comes to SCO,
you want to try to get other websites to link
back to your own web page. And you want to focus
on websites that are in your same niche or very
high authority website. So we're going to
come down here to the prompt bar and type
the following prompt. Help me come up with a
link building strategy for this website and use tables. We're going to press
Enter on our keyboard. And now we have our
link building strategy. And we even have two
different draft if we take a look at the
link building strategy. The first one would
be guest blogging, which is to write high
quality guest blog posts for websites that are
relevant to your niche. As an example, Google
Bart tells us, write a guest block post about the best dog beds for a website that reviews pet products. Or if we come down
here and check Draft B, the description, create informative and visually
appealing infographics about dog care and share them on social media and
other websites, and it gives you an example. Create an infographic
about the different types of dog breeds and
share it on Pinterest. But not only that, if
you keep scrolling down. First, we could export this to sheets or copy the full table. But if you take a
closer look here, we have table to link building
strategies and tools. In my opinion, this is an
amazing response because I use this in my own projects and I recommend that
you do the same. And the last thing that
I want to show you, if you take a look here,
it says local directories. Submit your website to relevant local directories and
business listings. We could come down here to the prompt bar and tell Google Bard, show me a list of ten pet
specific directories. And we're going to press
Enter on our keyboard. And now you have a
list of websites or directories where you could try to publish the information of your website to
get a back link. This may help you
get new readers on your website and potentially
even new customers. And now we can move on
to the next lesson.
8. Google Bard Extensions: Before finishing this
class, let me show you some new features
because Google Bard has recently been updated. For example, Google extensions are now integrated into art. So let's see how
you can use these together to further improve
your content creation. We're going to open a
new Google Bard window. And as you can
see, the interface has been polished a bit. But the important thing is
in the upper right corner, which is this icon
here, extensions. And we're going to click there. As you can see, these extensions are now integrated
into Google Bard. And of course, you
can either activate or deactivate these by clicking. For example, if I don't want Google Bar to have
access to my mail, my Google Drive,
or my Google Docs, I could simply click here and
this would be turned off. But if I want Bard
to have access to these extensions, I'm
going to click here. And due to privacy reasons, it's asking you if you
want to cancel or connect. So I'm going to click Connect. Now let me show you how you can use them to
improve your content. We're going to click here, Bard. Let's imagine you
have a travel website or even a Youtube channel, and you want to
publish a post or a video about a
trip to Barcelona. And this is the prompt
that we're going to type make a table
of all the flights from JFK to BCN nonstop
and make it weekly. And we're going to
click here, Submit. Google Bard is going to
start to sync and take the information directly
from Google flights. And as you can see here, we
have some nonstop round trips from JFK to BCN for
the upcoming week. Here we have the airline with the departure time,
arrival time, how long the flight takes, and the price in
your local currency. Obviously, the dates
are going to be different if you're watching
this class later on. So I could either export
two sheets or what I like to do is simply right
click, take screenshot. I can copy this full table
and paste it to a website. Now let's use more extensions to keep improving this content. You're going to
press the At key on your keyboard and the list of extensions are
going to show up. This time, I want you to
click on Google Hotels. And if you want to keep
using the same example, we're going to look for hotels
near the Sagara Familia, which is a very famous
monument in Barcelona. Give me a list of hotels
near Saga Familia. We're going to press Enter on our keyboard or
click here, Submit. And once again, Google
is going to use the Google Hotels extension to look for hotels near
Sagara Familia. Again, in a matter of seconds, we have a full list and we
also have some pictures, the star rating of the
hotel, the price per night. This is the Sagar Familia, and we also have a
very small description of each and every
one of these hotels. And as always, we could come
down here to the three dots. Click there, copy, and then paste the information on our
website or our blog post. Let's take a look at another extension using this example. Back to the prompt bar
and press the At key on your keyboard and you're
going to click on Google Maps and we're
going to tell Bard. Now show me some with a pool. Now in a couple of seconds, we have a list of hotels
near Sagar Familia, but this time with a pool. But because we used the
Google Maps extension, we also have a map with
all these hotels here. Once again, we could
click the dots and copy. Or if your browser has the
option, you would right click, take screenshot, and then paste it into your
website or blog post. Or you could also add a link to this map in the description
of a Youtube video. And before finishing
this lesson, let me show you one
more thing you can do. I'm going to come
up here, click on these dots to open Google Apps. And in my case,
I'm going to click Google Drive and it's going
to open my Google Drive. And as you can see
here, I have a PDF with a list of free things
to do in Barcelona. So I'm going to come back
to Bard and what I'm going to do now is come here
to the prompt bar again. You want to press the ad
key on your keyboard, and this time we're going
to click Google Drive, and I'm going to tell Bard, please summarize the document, things to do in Barcelona Pdf. You're going to click Submit, and Google Bard is going to sink and start to
summarize that document. This document is
actually 18 pages long, but in a matter of seconds, Google Bard has made a summary with the
must see attractions, other popular attractions,
and things to do for free. Now let's move on to
a next esson so I can give you some last tips
and best practices.
9. Tips and Best Practices: Number one, best
practice, in my opinion, is to double check and fact check Google Bard's responses. We brushed over this in one
of the previous essins, where we asked for the
information about a product and Google Bard gave us an
incorrect release date. If we take as an example, the previous esson where Bard gave us a list of
hotels with a pool. My recommendation is
to spend 30 seconds or a couple more minutes to open the hotel's website in a
new tab or a new window, and just double check
and make sure that there actually is a
pool in that hotel. In my experience,
95% of the time, the results are accurate, but there is a 5% chance
that they're not. So you just want to fact
check and make sure you're providing accurate
information on your website or your
Youtube channel, or your e mail newsletter. Now, how can we
apply this for SEO? You could actually
copy the image from the hotel's website and paste it into your block
post or article. Why? Because usually
articles or block posts that have images in them tend to rank higher in the
search results. And also to because nowadays many people have a very
short attention span and it's much easier to read if the article has a paragraph
and then an image, another paragraph
and another image, than a whole chunk of text, that's boring to the reader. And this can also be
applied to Youtube. For example, if you're
actually filming a video in a location, Barcelona,
Amsterdam, Vienna, any other city in the world,
and you're doing a video about pet friendly restaurants
or hotels with a pool. You just have to open the website of the hotel
or the restaurant or the Instagram account
to double check if they actually are
pet friendly or not. Of course, things may change
from one day to another. But you can say in your video, at the moment you're
filming the video, that information is
correct up to that date. The last tip or best practice I want to give you
is to try to be as specific and
detailed as possible when you're typing
prompts in Google Bard. Again, we've opened a new
window in Google Bard. And for this example, we're
going to come down here to the prompt bar and we can
type in the following prompt. Help me create a
marketing campaign, and obviously this is
extremely broad and you're not giving pretty much any information to Google Bard. You're going to press Enter on your keyboard or
click here, Submit. And Google Bard takes a few seconds and gives
you this response. Number one, define your goals. Number two, identify
your target audience. Number five, choose your marketing channels and
so on and so forth. But as you can see, this
is only an outline. These are just tools but it's actually not doing the
marketing campaign for you. So my recommendation
once again is give Bard the maximum amount of
information as possible. Now we could write a new prompt
using these numbers here. Number one is asking you, what do you want to achieve
with your marketing campaign? Brand awareness, generate
leads, drive sales. So in this case, let's
use drive sales. And we're going to start by
telling Bard once again, help me create a
marketing campaign based on this information. Number one, I want to
drive new sales to my e commerce store.
I sell clothes. Then if we take a
look at number two, who are you trying to
reach with your campaign and it's telling you you need to know your target audience. Number two, my target
audience are men and women aged 18 to 35 interested
in fitness, clothing. And of course, this
is just an example. This will depend on
your own business and the type of people
you're targeting. We can also take a
look at number five, how will you reach
your target audience? So social media, e mail
marketing, paid advertising. We're going to add number three. The marketing channel
will be social media through Instagram post
and Tiktok videos. We could also take a
look at number six. When will your marketing
campaign launch and end? We could come down to the
Prompt bar, add number four. This marketing campaign will launch in January
after Christmas, mainly because during
Christmas people are eating out all the time. And in January many people
set new goals for the year, like going back to the gym. And now we're going to press
Enter on our keyboard. And as always, in a
couple of seconds, we have a full
marketing campaign for a closed e commerce store. And it also gives you
draft A and draft B. Here we have the goals drive new sales, increase
brand awareness. Among this data that we gave Woolbard the marketing
channels it's going to launch. And we also have a full
campaign strategy. It's also telling
you which kind of Instagram post you
should be creating, as well as Tiktok videos. And at the end, we see
the campaign evaluation. So as you can see,
the more amount of information you give
to Google Bard, the higher the chances of
getting a detailed response.
10. Class Recommendations: Now that you've
finished this class, just a quick reminder,
if you check out my profile on Skillshare, you're going to find classes on other topics like video editing, thumbnail design, or if you're interested in
other AI chat bots. I also have a class
about chat GPT. Once again, thank
you very much for watching and hopefully I'll
see you in the next one.
