1. Introduction: so like most of us, you probably have some deep, significant desires or things that you really want to achieve in life. But if you're watching this video, perhaps those desires are either too big, too intimidating or maybe even too vague for you to really know how to start working towards them. Well, the short course there that I put together will show you my method for high. You can convert those deep, raw desires of yours into specific long term goals. And then how do you create a short term plan of action that you can start following immediately in order to ultimate achieve those goals? In the end, I'm all about creating a concrete plan of action that I can follow to ultimately achieve some desired outcome in the future. And of course, things can change. Plans can adjust, But ultimately, if you have a concrete path forward in front of you, the likelihood that you're actually gonna achieve those big goals of yours and life is going much, much higher than if you were to try and aimlessly find your way without any real plan in place. So if you want to learn a great method for how to create this concrete plan of action so you can fulfill your biggest desires, and this course is for you. 2. The Goal Creation Process: all right. Thanks for joining me here in this next video. And this is where I'll be showing you my process for creating goals and the way I prefer to do this. And the way encourage others did this as well is to create just 3 to 5 max pretty big, significant, somewhat intimidating goals that you won't achieve in a more long term time horizon. I typically truths about a year. So, you know, for example, the 3 to 5 things that I want to achieve in the next 365 days and the reason why I do it this way, You know, setting just a few but pretty significant and intimidating goals and giving myself a lot of time to achieve them is, you know, my view. Goal setting should be all about taking a good hard look at your life and figuring out what needs to be done across all areas to really improve upon it and bring about lasting change . And what you'll find is you don't. Typically, the things you have to do will require you to step outside your comfort zone and to really work hard, long term and consistently to achieve something big that really speaks to your deepest desires, right? And you know, this is not something that typically you can do in just a few days or a few weeks or a few months, but might take you a year or more to accomplish. But what you'll find And this is from my experience that when you said these kinds of goals , and when you finally do achieve them, it's one of the most fulfilling and euphoric experiences of your life. Um, and what you'll see in the next video, though, is yeah, it's important to have these big, long term goals, but it's also very important as a way to keep yourself motivated and pushing yourself forward to create much more short term, bite sized milestones that you can work and achieve along the way. So that after that year or two and achieving all these little milestones you have then at that point actually fulfilled this big. What used to be intimidating gold years. That's the whole point of this, right, Um, so to get started here before, I would recommend you even trying figure out what these goals should be is, I would say, take some time, and it could just be a few minutes. Could be a couple hours, or even a day or two to really do some introspection. And what I mean by that is take some time to think deeply about what you really want in life. What do you really want to achieve? And, you know, as you're doing this, pay close attention to the just the raw thoughts and feelings you experience, and then write them down either on a piece, paper or on me, obviously showing you on the computer here. But write them down in some way and, you know, it could be as general and Vegas as as they come or that could be specific wherever they are, write them down. And then what I'm gonna show you is how to find tune them to actually convert them into a tangible goal you can achieve in, you know, one or two year period, right? So an example might be I want to be mawr, um, confident, right? Just doing as an example, I do some introspection and I realize, you know, I just want to be a more confident individual, whatever that means. Right again, This is general and vague. But this is a deep desire, right? Another example might be I want to make more money, right? Whatever that means in terms of the amounts and what not, But that's it. I really want to make more money so I can, you know, travel Mawr or spend more time with my family or work for myself. Whatever it is, I want to make more money. Another example might be I I want to lose. Wait, right. Maybe you're a bit overweight, but obese. And you really It's been a burning desire of yours to really, you know, work out and cut down and get yourself back in shape. That could be just a desire or thought that comes up when you're doing this kind of introspective process. And so keep doing this right. Write them all down. And when you're done, you know, you could have just three right here, or it could be 5 10 whatever it is, then try and group them in different categories. So, for example, looking at this 1st 1 I want to be more confident. I would say this has to do with your identity. This is a desire that's going to improve your identity. You want to become a more confident individual, right? Looking at this one, I want to make more money. Once is a financial desire, right? Financial. Let me highly this in bold. Um, And so and then last one here, I want to lose weight. This is a fitness goal, right? Or it could be a personal goal. I'll call it a fitness going to get a little more specific. But you can see here that these different desires can fall into different categories. And the reason why I encourage you to do this is because, you know, going back to what I said about goal setting this. You know, this process should be allow you to improve your life across all areas, not just one. What if you were the only set financial goals, for example? Yeah, some point. You might be a millionaire or a billionaire, but if you were negligent on all the other parts of your life, you may have a lot of money, but if your health is out of whack, you have no salt relationships. You can't share that that fortune with anybody. What's the point of having all that money you want to improve your life, bring yourself up on all levels. And so as you're working through all your desires that you wrote down, categorize them. And if you have a bunch right, maybe you have more than five. Basically, right. Pick the ones that mean the most to you. So prioritize them, rank them because again, you don't wanna have more than I would say five of these desires that we're gonna convert into goals. Because if you have more than that, it's gonna be an overwhelming thing to try and achieve all these different goals for a one year or two year period. You only have so much mental band with so just having 3 to 5 goals that are extremely important and really speak to your deep desires that will allow you to allocate enough bam with enough at work effort towards each one over the next year to actually achieve them. So if he's got more than five, pick the one. Pick the top five. That means most to you, but also try and pick them such that when you have your 3 to 5, whatever they are, that they fall into different categories. You could have two or three in the same category, but try and spread them out as much as possible because again, the whole point is to improve your life across all areas, so you might have one or two financial goals. Maybe a fitness goal and identity goal, a relationship goal, whatever it is. And I shouldn't say gold yet. These air just desires, right? So I'm gonna go with these three desires. Teoh show you an example of how it would then convert these into tangible goals. So looking at identity first, this one here, I want to be more confident. Well, you know, that's that's great. But let's try and specify this more so maybe you are a a little bit more of an anxious individual, more self conscious. You have some social anxiety, whatever that is. So to get more specific, let's convert this to you know I want to be able to approach a total stranger and strike up a conversation without any fear. Right now, this is just one particular experience or example that will help you illustrate your improvement of confidence. But it's a pretty good indicator that you are improving with her confidence, right? If, for example, the thought of approaching a total stranger and just striking up a conversation with them, that idea gives you anxiety or fear. Right then, this is something you could definitely work towards to actually gain confidence. White. Typically, when you see someone who's totally fine with talking to anybody and having any conversation , that person is probably pretty confident, right? Takes a lot of confidence to do that. And so here is a good example of much more specific thing you can work towards to improve your confidence and, you know, to get more clarity on this. You know, um, if the thought of doing this right now, it gives you fear and anxiety. You know how that feels, right? That's a very physical thing to experience. Whereas, you know, let's go the the play of the direction. And, you know, how does you know making yourself breakfast in the morning feel to you Totally normal, right? No fear, no anxiety, no nothing. It's just a very typical normal activity for you. That's the experience. That's the feeling. Or I guess, lack of feeling that you wanna have when you actually approach a total stranger and just strike up a conversation, right? So the difference between those two sensations fear and anxiety and the complete lack thereof. That's how you'll know you're making progress with this goal, right? So if you and you'll see this more in the next video before your milestones is, you know I'm gonna approach one person every day and just strike up a conversation at first . Yet that anxiety and fears could be pretty overwhelming. But as you do this more and more and more, you'll notice that that fear anxiety starts to wither away until the point where it's just a very natural, normal thing to do. Just like you are making yourself breakfast in the morning. It's just there's nothing about it that is fear or anxiety inducing whatsoever, right? And so that's how you will know You will be making progress toward this, just taking time to really feel experience your emotions as you are achieving these little milestones and I'll get like I said, I get more of that next video. But I hope that makes it more clear as to how this now specifies him or clear goal to work towards and, um, the ways in which you can see yourself making progress, right? Going into the next one. The financial goal here, I want to make more money. Okay, well, let's say as an example, you're making $3000 a month, So 36 grand a year. Um and so maybe your goal is I want to double that. I want to makes $6000 a month. Let's change that to I want to make, um, $6000 per month, which is, um, $72,000 a year, right, doubling your income. Now again, this is should be a pretty lofty, somewhat intimidating gold just like this last one, right? But it's much more specific. And now you have a very clear image or, in this case, a number in mind to work towards right. It was just kind of wishy washy and vague of just I want to make more money. Well, if you went from making three k a month to 3000 and 50 bucks a month, yeah, you technically made more money, right? But is that really going to bring about the, um, the fulfillment that you were looking for? Probably not right. But is doubling your income, making $6000 per month. Is that gonna bring about a lot of euphoria and fulfillment when you achieve this goal? Of course, right, and you know it's big and intimidating, but it's not outrageous, right? So it's important to make these goals intimidating and pretty significant, but not so outlandish that there's just no thought in your mind that you could ever achieve it right. They should. They should still be relatively in the ball park, so but this is now. I hope you see a much more clear, distinct goal. It you can work towards in the next year or two, right? And now, for the third desire here, I want to lose weight. Well, let's put a number on this as well. Maybe according to your doctor, he says. Or she says, you are £50 overweight. Okay, there you go. There's a great way to convert this desire into a specific goal, right? I want to lose £50 in the next year, right? And I'm assuming all these goals now are something you want to achieve in the next year. You get these examples, but that's the assumption here, right? And So now there you go. Right. We have three pretty specific goals now in different categories that we can work towards over the next 365 days. And as I said, the next video, I'm going to show you how to break these down now into little bite size milestones. Right, Because one thing that I've seen with interactions I've had is, you know, people have goals like this, right? Big, significant, lofty goals. But they never get started on them because they're just too intimidated by it. They don't know how to start. It just seems too big. Well, that's why it's important to Yes, Have these in your mind. This is the bigger picture thing you're working towards. But then is very important to break them down into very small pieces that you're much more confident in achieving and working towards in the short term. Right. So I hope that this this process makes it like, easier for you to create some pretty big goals in your life. And I hope when you do this process, you get pretty excited about this, even though they might be a little bit intimidating or whatnot. But, um, you know this is the first step to really bringing about great change in your life and really improving your life. So, um, next video, as I said, we're gonna be breaking these things down into those bites as milestones. So when you're ready to go over to that one, I'll see you on that and next video. Thanks. 3. The Short-Term Roadmap: Okay, So now that we have our big long term goals in place, it's not important to for each one of them to create a short term plan of action that consists of much smaller, more manageable bite sized little milestones that you can start working towards immediately . Right. And in my view, this is very important because, you know, it's great to have these big, significant long term goals that really pump you up and you really want to achieve. But, you know, with them being long term, you may not be able to achieve them for six months or 12 months or longer. Right? So, having a short term goals, short term milestones that you can start working towards right now well, I you to stay on track, keep yourself motivated, keep pushing forward so that after this longer duration, you can look back and say, Hey, I actually finally achieved this big goal of mine, right? Um so I pulled these three goals as examples from the previous video just so I can walk you through my process of how I would create little milestones for each one of them. And then you can copy the process for the goals that you have, right? And one thing to note. You don't need to create your entire plan for the whole year for however long you have in mind before you can achieve this goal, right? Simply having 12 or three milestones in place to start working towards immediately is sufficient, right? Because this this is very short term stuff, something to give you actionable, actionable things to do right now. And once you start checking these milestones off and you've achieved them, then you can start making mawr after that. Right? And you know, you can certainly try to make a on entire plan for the whole year or something. But, you know, things change, new ideas come up. There's certainly many different ways and methods to, for example, create mawr income in your life. So, as you are making progress in your milestones that you have right now, you may discover a new way to make money outside of your day job, for example, right. And that may change your course of action. So it's not necessary again to have every milestone laid out into you, um, achieve this goal. But do you know 12 or three will certainly be sufficient. And then you can make Mawr as you're making progress. Right? So looking at this first goal right here, um, you know, the goal of, you know, basically being based off. I want to be more confident person. That was the initial desire and so transformed that desire into this goal of, you know, I want to be able to approach a total stranger and just strike up a conversation with that person without any fear and eggs. Any anxiety or hesitation. Right? Because I know if I could do this, I have become a confident person. Right. So, um, the first milestone that you could start working towards right now could be a simple as, you know, um, se hello to at least one stranger every day, right? Very simple. Um, and you know, the point of these milestones is yes, they're supposed to be much more manageable and small, but they're still gonna should still require you to step a little bit outside your comfort zone to make you do something that you would normally do, right? Um but that obviously much mawr doable, less intimidating than your big significant goal. that you have in place, right? But you know, if you can do this right, if you could get the point where you can just, you know, if you're out in the street or at the grocery store, wherever there's other people around and you can just in passing, say hello to somebody without any fear or anxiety or whatever. You know, you've made progress towards this bigger goal at that point, right? And you have achieved this short term little milestone, right? So maybe it takes you just every day you try and do this. You work on this little milestone for a week or two weeks from three weeks. However long it takes for this this kind of interaction to become totally normal to you, Right? At that point, you've achieved this milestone. And so then the 2nd 1 could be a little bit more advanced, right? You want each milestone to build upon the previous one to require a little bit more effort a little bit more stepping outside your comfort zone, that kind of thing. So the next milestone for this goal could be asking a stranger for the time each day, right? Every day I'm gonna approach at least one person and just asking for the time, right? You know? Hey, excuse me. My phone's dead. Do you have the time? You know, often than not, right there will be more than happy to plot their phone or check their watch and give you the time and all you gotta do say great. Thank you. Appreciate it. Have a good one. Right? But you can see based on that's a little bit mawr involved than just saying Hey, right. Hello. How are you? And then just going about your bit going about your day, right? No, this is a little longer of interaction, and it's one step greater, in my opinion. Then your first milestone, right? It's gonna require just a little bit more effort a little bit more, um, stepping outside your comfort zone and whatnot. But if you can do this for maybe a week or two and get told to used to it Hey, you've now made even more progress towards this goal. Let's go right here. Right. And so then maybe the third milestone is asking a stranger for their opinion on something, right? This could be anything right. Super open ended. It could be something that's been on the news all over the place. You may have an interest in something, and you just want to get someone's opinion on it. Maybe you're planning on starting a business around it, or you just simply want to use as an exercise to help you get closer and closer to this goal. Right. Um, but with this milestone, right, this next step asking someone for their opinion on something is not gonna be just is not going to require a very black and white answer. Of what time is it? Right? They're going to give you probably more long winded answer and give you their thoughts, and that will give you an opportunity to respond, right? You know, obviously offer your opinion. Um, you can talk about where you agree where you disagree, you know, 11 step higher than the second milestone. Just asking for the time. This is gonna require this 3rd 1 This is going to require a little bit more of a longer interaction. And so and you just keep doing this right. As you are working through these little milestones checking them off, you just keep getting more and more and more, and eventually you will achieve this goal of being able to approach anybody and just strike up any conversation without any fear. Right? That was the goal. And at that point, you'll know that, Hey, I've become a confident person. I could do this right? I'm comfortable comfortable with myself. I can talk to anybody about anything and everything is great, right? So I hope this becomes clear of how you can, you know, start creating a short term roadmap of little goals that you can start working towards with each goal a milestone being just one step more than the previous one, right? And as long as you are working towards each one and making progress at some point, you have to reach your destination, right? Just the way it works. Um, so not going to the second go here. I want to make $6000 per month, which was doubling your income and in the example, right. Well, in regards to increasing your income, there's there's many, many, many ways to make money outside of maybe your day job, right? Um, let's say you are employees and you know the first milestone could be talking with your manager. And so, um, talk with your manager about any additional work that ah, you can do, right? Simple conversation. Hate. So and so is there anything any additional work I could pick up for extra pay, right? May have to work longer hours may have to work seven days a week, but if the answer is yes, you consume any work on this project or do this and that, and I'll pay you for your time. There you go. That's that's one simple little step One conversation that is now open the door for you to make more money, right? But obviously, this may not speak to someone who is wanted to make more money, because maybe they don't like their job. Or maybe when they talk to their manager, there is no extra work that is available, right? Um, at least at that point, you will know, right? You will know that this this opportunity is actually not an opportunity so you can move on to something else, right? So then maybe the next milestone is research ways to make money outside of your day job. Right? Um and you know, if you're if you're doing this online and what not, You will have to be a little bit intelligent in your research and sifting through all the information that you're looking at because there's always gonna be people out there that are gonna be advocating for you No more scam me. Get rich kind of quick, get rich quick kind of schemes that, um at least in my view, you should stay away from, um but, you know, as you are doing this, it's a simple Google search, right? Watching maybe some YouTube videos going into Google, reading some articles, right, and just running down the various ideas and methods that you come across that speak to you . That sounds interesting to you that you may want to pursue to increase your income. I will say that just, um, one thing you should be thinking about is how can I provide something to other people? Whether that's a service, it's an actual physical product if its knowledge, whatever it is, if there's something I can provide to other people that is of value, that is going to be a great way to make money right? That's how every company works that so every business works. They provide a service, a product or whatever in exchange for money, right? It's a spaces. It's a simple as that. And so, you know, as you're thinking about that, maybe you realize, you know, Hey, I've always been really good at fixing stuff, whether it's, you know, cars or bikes, furniture, whatever it ISS right. You have always been maybe a hands on person, good at figuring out what the problem is and how to actually fix it, right? Well, then, the next milestone, the next thing you could do is simply call up all your friends, everyone you know, and just ask them. Hey, is there anything that you've got that needs to get fixed? I can come fix it for such and such price, right? And that could be your next step into eventually maybe creating your own business around this kind of skill set that you have, right? Um, but again, you can see just bite size, little milestones that allow you to take action right now to, you know, over time eventually achieved the big, long term goal that you that you have. Um so I hope that makes sense there. And then not going to the fitness goal here. I want to lose £50 right? And I'm gonna take the assumption that you're coming from ground zero. Maybe, right. You don't have a gym membership. You don't really ever work out. Um, that's fine. Right? But how do you then get started with this big lofty goal of yours, right? It could be a simple as the first up being research local gyms. Right. Figure out what gyms around you, Um, and then based on your budget, you know, look at the gyms, membership fees and what not figure out what gym membership fits your budget. And then the next milestone could be a sign up for a membership. Simple. Is that right? Going by, do online? Maybe if you have to go in and just talked the person's front desk and sign up, get your information taking care of and boom. There you go. Now you're a member of a gym, and then the third milestone could be something like, um, you know, walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes, three times a week, right? It is something that you never done before or not used to doing. Then Yeah, it's going again. Require you to step outside your comfort zone a little bit. Do something you wouldn't only dio, but it's much more manageable. It's much more easy to get your mind wrapped around it and something you can do immediately once you accomplish the 1st 2 milestones, right? Um, and you know, in the meantime, maybe the fourth milestone is every night or a couple nights a week. You know, do some research watching YouTube videos, um, about how to exercise with free weights or machines or whatnot. You build up your knowledge base of different exercises you can do in the gym. Or maybe the next milestone is hiring a personal trainer. Most gyms offer most gyms, offer you the opportunity to partner with a personal trainer to have sessions with that person, and they can teach you hands on all the different exercises and the proper form, and exactly how to get a great workout, right? And so again, bite sized little milestones that you can work towards immediately, each one building upon the one previous and eventually at some point, as long as you're doing this, making little milestones and working towards it at some point you will achieve this big goal of yours, right? And in the beginning, this these goals seemed very intimidating and, um, very large. And, you know, you maybe had some fear about never being able to achieve them. That's fine, right? That's thoughts. The point of making these these goals again, right? The point is to really improve your life across all levels. And so, yeah, having in the back of your head. But once you have a little short term road map laid out, switch your focus on these short term bite sized little goals. Little little milestones, right? That don't seem nearly as intimidating as the big, long term one that you have. And you could start working towards these immediately. So I hope this makes sense in terms of the my process of how to break down your big goals into short term actionable steps that you can take right now. And in the next video, I'll be showing you another strategy that I used to keep myself motivated and keep the momentum going. So I'll see you in the next video. Thanks 4. Maintaining Momentum: All right, Welcome back. The next video in this course, and this is we'll be showing you an extra strategy that you can use. And then I personally use to keep your goals at the forefront of your mind. Right? It's pretty easy as you're going about your day going through your work week to get distracted and even forget about your goals and your milestones and all that in the first place. Right? So this strategy, if you decide to use it and I highly encourage you dio is going to hopefully fix that. And what we're gonna do here is create reminders or notifications that come into your phone that pin your phone or your laptop to remind you of your goals every single day at a certain time, right. And this is gonna be told it to you in terms of how you can or how you may want to customize your schedule. If you have a couple goals and you just want to be reminded of each goal once per day, you can do that right, Um or, you know, if you're a little bit more extreme, like I am, you can be reminded of your goals every single hour of every day writes totally up to you. How how invested you want to get into this. But as an example here, you know, one of the goals that I used in the previous videos as an example was, I want to make $6000 per month, right, doubling my income. And so if I were that person with that goal, I would want to make a reminder. Teoh and the way I like to structure these reminders in terms of their wording is I like to structure them so that they convey the idea that I've already achieved the goal. Right, So that's just a personal touch for me, in terms of making these reminders just helps me keep the my mindset in that achievement mode. You know, if I'm constantly reminded of the fact that I've already achieved my goals, even though it may not be totally true, still keeps me in that mindset of achievement, and going after it right works for me may not work for you, but either way, the way I would make this reminder is I make $6000 per month, right structure it as if I've already achieved it, right? And so this reminds you to come in every day saying I make $6000 per month and Aiken have it come in, you know, on a day, repeat every single day and have it come in at noon every day. So I hit. Done. And it's currently past noon. So the There you go. You can see the reminder comes in right away. I make $6000 per month. Boom. Right there. It just takes a few seconds out of my day to draw my attention to this notification and just say, Oh, yeah, I know. I forgot about my goal. Making $6000 a month. I was really busy doing something else. And boom, There you go. My mindset has now wrapped around this goal again. And, you know, maybe sometime later today, Aiken, do something to get myself closer to achieving this goal. Right? So once I do that and I have my tension back, my attention drawn back to the school I had complete. And then over here, you can see boom goes to tomorrow. So tomorrow at noon, it's gonna remind me of the same goal again, right? and, you know, in terms of the weight loss goal of, I want to lose £50 I could make another reminder, saying, You know, I am £50 lighter, right? And let's say work out every day at five o'clock after work and I want this notification to come in right before my workout. I can set it to do just that, you know, remind myself of this goal on a day, every day and with this goal or this reminder to come in at five o'clock every day, I use military times, so 1700 means five oclock. So it done. Boom. There you go. It's almost seven o'clock tonight. So the schools or this reminders already and come in. And there you go. I'm £50 lighter, gets my mindset, are my mindset focus back on the school again, and I'm ready to go for this workout. And I'm back in that achievement mode. Right? Hit complete. And then back over here. There you go. So tomorrow again at five o'clock before my next workout, this reminder is gonna come back in and remind me of this goal. So there you go. It's a simple as that right. You can do it just like this, you know, one reminder per goal. Or, you know, if I want to be reminded, let's say, of my financial goal of making $6000 per month a few times a day. Well, I can set one reminder reminder to come in at noon and then later on another notification comes in at three. And then seven. However, I want a structure this as totally up to you. Right? So this is obviously using Mac OS and the reminders app that comes with the iPhone. Um, I imagine Android has a similar application you can use as well. But even if you don't want to do this digitally, one other Allah alternative you can use is simply write your goals down on a piece paper. And you know, if you have a bulletin board behind your desk pinning up there right keeper goals in plain sight at all times as you're working right, the key here is simply to keep your goals visible throughout your day, right? You want to be constantly reminded of your goals so that you never forget about them. You get distracted away from them, and you can always maintain a mindset of going after it and working towards these goals, because these things should mean a lot to you, right? These air significant things you want to achieve in life, so you should be willing to do anything and everything. And, you know, this is obviously not a huge time commitment anyway, to set this up. But you should be willing to go the extra distance to make sure that your goals are in front of you at all times that you you can always keep working towards them, right? So whether you're just running it on a piece paper and putting on your bulletin board or on your bathroom mirror or next to your bed on your night stand or making actual reminders for your phone and your laptop, however, does you want to do it, do something such that your goals are always in front of you at all times, right? Or as often as possible. So I hope you found this, uh, short little video useful, certainly a very handy strategy that I have employed to help me achieve my goals. So, um, when you're ready to move on to the next video, I'm just going to wrapping something's up, so I'll see you in that one. Thanks 5. Take Action!: All right.
