2. Welcome: Hello and a very warm
welcome to how to set, track, and achieve goals. We will use OCR's objectives and key results plus habits and other systems to get you
there to achieve your goals. My name is Leo Prova
and I will guide you through the
next video lessons. It doesn't matter if you're here because you want to improve your business or
your personal life, your relationship life. The methods and systems can work for anything
you want it to work to. If you want to grow
your business, if you want to
transform your business from a stationary business
to a remote business, or if you want to start
an independent location, independent financially
independent lifestyle, or you want to improve
your relationships, you want to lose
weight or just get fitter, learn new languages. It doesn't matter, this system will work for you
if you set it up. Right. I will give
you a rough overview, but also first guide how
to set it up and how you can get started if you
try to change your life, but keep doing the same
things over and over again, you will not get
different results. You will need to make some
really fundamental changes, Develop good habits that
support your goers, set up systems and follow them. You also need to stick
to the plan, so to say. You will adjust it
through the way, but you need to have
some perseverance to reach the results
that you want to. I have bad news for you,
but also good news. The bad news first, there is no overnight success or these fake gurus
who try to sell you their overpriced programs
might tell you you can achieve anything you want without putting any
effort in overnight. That's not true. You need consistent progress and I
will give you the doors do set track and achieve all the goals that
you're setting for yourself. Anything is possible, but you should know that
it's also an effort. Nothing is coming for free. There is no overnight success. But you can change your life. You can be whoever you want to be and become the person that you were
always dreaming of. Now a little summary
of what we are going to talk about in the
next couple of videos. First of all, I will talk
about success factors, like what is important in general to reach and
achieve your goals. Then we will talk about where you are standing
at the moment. You really need to be
honest with yourself. I work with many clients, and friends, and family as well. This is a crucial part. If you're not honest
with yourself, where you're standing
at the moment, and also why you're
standing there, then the results will not
be as good as they can be. Then we will also talk
about your vision, why you want to do something. This is more long
term perspective, like where do you
want to be in life? Which person do you
want to become? From there, we will work with
objectives and key results. I will roughly explain
what objectives are, also how to set them. I will then go to key Results, talk about key results,
why they important, and what we are using them for, and also how you can set them. Then when we have
set our key results, we will break them down
to actionable items and tasks that you can do on a
daily basis or weekly basis. Yeah. To work towards your
objectives and key results. We also will talk about habits, the important and how they can support the overall success. Habits are really crucial. It's hard to get
rid of bad habits, it's hard to adapt good habits. But yeah, this is
really very important, besides systems and
other objectives and key results to be
successful on the long run. In one lesson, we will talk
about how to take action. That's also really
hard. You shouldn't get stuck in the planning too much. You also need to take action because only if you take
action, you will make progress. You will move forward,
you will come closer to your goals. It's not about doing
everything it wants, it's really a Maradon sprint. You really need to also
set up systems that, yeah, help you support you with taking actions and moving
forward towards your goals. After that, we will come to
also important part that is often forgotten or people do not think about it or do not put enough
attention to it. It's about reviewing and checking how the progress
is, updating the progress. Usually even if you make
plans or you work a lot on, on your goals but you never see how you are
actually progressing. Yeah. It's also not as
effective as it could be. We will have a look
at that as well. Last but not least, we will summarize everything. See how everything
is working together. How is everything
playing together? Yeah, give you the
fine tuning that you are ready to get started
with reaching your goals.
3. Important Success Factors in our journey: Welcome to this next video. Today we're going to talk about general success factors
and what you need to get. Right. To set up a system that
works for you in general. There are many different paths. Of course, to reach your goals, to be successful you will need to find your personal
one that works for you. Yeah, it's also clear
that if you have a strong why you're
doing things, which is usually more
on the long term, it's way easier to
achieve your goals, especially if you can adjust your what you're
doing and how you're doing aligned with your Y. I can really recommend two
books of Simon Sinek, If you want to read
more about that, find your Y and
start with your y. But let's jump into today's lesson and talk about
different success factors. The first one is setting and
tracking mid term goals. When I talk about
mid term goals, I'm talking of a time horizon
of three to 12 months. Those are very important
to keep you focused on the immediate, most
important things. We use objectives and
key results for that, they should really help you. Do not get distracted. We live in a world
of information. There are many shiny
objects everywhere that are promising you better results
and stuff like this. And yeah, objective, key results help you stay on track
and keep you persistent. It doesn't matter if
you're a solopreneur, or a small business owner, or working in management, or just a private person. Objectives and key results
will help you stay on track. That's why mid term
goals are so important. One other important
point is that you should start
loving the process. That's easier said,
I'm aware of that. But even if it's not happening now that you
love your journey, if you want to change your life, you want to become
a different person. You want to build
the business or whatever you need
to take actions. Don't wait for pension
to have fun to travel or for the lottery win to have enough money to
fulfill your dreams. Surround yourself
with people you like you enjoy hanging out with. Do more things
that are enjoyable for you and results
will follow as well. According to the long term
vision that you should have, there is only one point in time where you can
live and it's now. You cannot live in the future. You cannot live in the past. You only can live in the now. Build supportive habits. That's very important on the
long run to be successful. After you figured out your why, or at least your mid term goals, your one year objectives, you can think about how can I support or which habit
could support this goal. How can this help me
to reach this goal? The more you automate
in your life through habits or mini habits, the easier and the more
likely you will succeed. You cannot always rely
on your willpower. Willpower is limited. Not every day is
the same for sure. Sometimes wake up in the
morning and you don't know why have a bad
mood or low energy. Then the habits
really come in handy and we'll do the job
for you to keep going, make still a little progress, even if you have
a bad day and not make you stop on the way
to reach your goers. Another often overseen technique to reach your goers and
making the difference between failing them or succeeding is to having an accountability system or accountability partner. You could, for example,
have a call Wiki with a friend or with a
mentor that helps you to stay on track and keep you accountable
towards your goals. This can be really
powerful because sometimes tend to trick
ourselves in our mind and say, oh, okay, I do this next week. But if, you know, on
Sunday at 05:00 P.M. I have to call with my
mentor with my beer, or with some friends. It's different. It will maybe help you to
put more effort in. Yeah, having an
accountability partner can definitely make a
difference as well. If you're working with
a system like OKRs, you need to trust it, otherwise
it will also not work. You need to trust that
the progress is updated correctly and that
the system works. I can give you my
doors that I'm using. I'm using notion for example, but it doesn't matter if
you keep track of it on a napkin or on axle
or Google sheets. Yeah, it's just the only
thing that is important that you trust in the
system that you are using. In this course, we focus
on the mid term goals, like three months to one year. But this objectives and
key results do not work. If you have no daily
or weekly plan under the objectives
and key results, you need to break down your
projects, your work ahead. Also, in smaller tasks, there are different
methods to do that depending what
you're working on. Some are suited
better than others. But yeah, you need to exactly know what you want
to do every single day. Best is to write it
down in the morning. What is the one thing
that I want to achieve? Yeah, then also review that
in the end of the day. Last but not least, there is one principle
that you need to follow. Do not give up ever. There will be failures, there will be setbacks. Things will not work as long
your why and your vision is clear and you know why
you're doing something, why you're following
your dreams, why you want to become
this different person. Why you want to have a free independent lifestyle and take control back
of your own life then? It doesn't matter when you fall. Maybe you lay there for
1 minute, for a day, for three days, but
you will stand up and you will succeed in
the end, step by step. Every day we make a little step forward to the life
that we want to live.
4. Know yourself and your Current Situation: Welcome back. In
this video lesson, we will talk about your
current situation. This is the last step before we are going to set
objectives and key results. Your three month
to one year goes. Yeah. Before we do that, we need to check and analyze how your
current situation is to set realistic objectives. Yeah, we will dive into different aspects that we
are looking at right now. One important question is, how much time or money
do you have available? If you have five kids
working two jobs full time, you will not have much time to sacrifice to
work on your goals. You need to consider
that, of course, you still can achieve something. But you need to adjust
your objectives and key results to
your available time. If you want to, for example, build an online shop while working full time and
taking care of your kids, then yeah, you need to be extra focused and productive in the little time that
you have available. Or you can use money as a
leverage and outsource stuff, which is also time
consuming of course. But yeah, you can
still use that. There is always some
time where we can squeeze in some extra hours. But you exactly should know
what you want to work on, what's the most important
thing to make progress. And of course, you
always also need to take care that you
are not burning out. Because when you burn out, you also will not achieve
your goals and objectives. How much money can you invest in your business?
That's also important. It can be a leverage. You can add, you know
what you want to do. You can add freelancers that are supporting
you on the way. Some businesses need
some initial investment. If you don't have
that money, yeah, then it will be also
hard and maybe you can choose something else
that you want to work on, but also with your budget and the money you
have available. Same like with the time
you need to be realistic. That's why this is important. Also, do analyze your current
situation money wise. Do you have relevant experience in the area you want to work on? Where your goals are. It's a difference if you're a programmer or
you have a lot of experience with e commerce and you want to build
an online shop. Or if you're just
starting out and need to learn all the skills on
yourself, of course. Then your objectives
in which time frame you can reach
your goal is different. If you need to learn
new skills first, in order to reach your goal, you need to plan in more time. If you're not
realistic about that, it can be really frustrating if you don't make the
progress that you want to make, the
previous attempts. Did you try to achieve
this goal before? If yes, why it didn't work out, You should just be
honest with yourself and analyze what went
wrong last time. Maybe sometimes it's just bad
timing or whatever it is. Be honest to yourself,
analyze the situation. Do not make the
same mistake again. Yeah, be more
successful this time. The last thing is
that you also should think of potential
other obligations. This is not about imagining
problems that could occur in the future to demotivate you and to stop you even
before you started. This is really about having a realistic perspective on
what could go wrong right now, What is realistic to happen, how can I respond to
this distraction? We are here to develop a
long term vision, our why, and also strong systems and habits to a work
on a daily basis, step by step, to become
the person we want to be, to have the life
that we want to have or have the success in, whatever that means for
you that you want to have, be realistic about what is keeping you away
from being successful. And yeah, we can deal with the obstacles and then also make progress on a
daily basis. That's it. You're ready to set
objectives and key results. I hope you were honest with yourself with the analysis
of your current situation. Yeah, let's set some
awesome objectives.
5. How to identify your Objectives?: Hello and welcome to this video. We're going to talk
about objectives today. We built the foundation in the last video with talking
about our current situation. And now we are ready to define objectives for
the next three months. Objectives should give you the direction you are going to. You should answer
yourself the question, what do you want to achieve? And then define
motivational objectives. Joe Vital said, a goal should scare you a little
and excite you a lot. That describes it really well when we talk about objectives, we always define
them in that way, that if you put a
lot of effort in, it will be still
hard to reach them. They shouldn't be
demotivate you, but you really should feel
that it's not easy to reach. You shouldn't send
back your objectives, which means that you are, yeah, making them so small
that you can easy reach them whenever you are done after the three
month and you reached around 70% on average
of your objectives. That's already good.
Set them high, but not that high that they're demotivating you
and you are fine. An objective is a
short, inspirational, and achievable statement that describes what you
want to achieve. Depending on how much
time you can invest, you will choose a different
amount of objectives. Usually when you work full
time on your objectives, you set them around the clock. On your objectives, you can set around three to five
for three months. Those objectives will
also have key results, we will talk about that later, which make the
objectives trackable. The objectives themselves
don't include numbers. Usually they just give a direction what
you want to work on just to define what will be your focus in
the next three months. As I said before, usually
objectives contain numbers. We will have the key
results for that. Yeah, some words that you could use for objectives are develop, launch, build, improve
in your objective name. Here are some examples for objectives in the business
and the private life. The business first become
accounting, creating, machine, launch my
new online shop. Increase profits. Optimize our customer
acquisition. Build a targeted organic and recurring drafting
source for my website. Now some objectives
for the personal life. Develop habits for a
better and healthier life. Improve my fitness. Spend more quality
time with my family. Create my first yoga
class. That's it. By now, you already analyzed
your current situation. You know what is
important in your life to set up everything to be able to achieve your goals that you're setting
for yourself. Plus you know how to
basically set objectives. The next step will be to define
the key results for that. If you're stuck in the process, you can get further information
on the website or also book us as an accountability
partner or mentor coach. Yeah, we will help
you in the process.
6. How to find your Key Results?: Welcome back to the
video how to find my key results for the objectives
that we defined before. Yeah, this is all about
measuring progress. As Peter Trucker already said, if you can't measure it,
you cannot improve it. Yeah, that's why we're going to talk about key results today, depending on how much
time you have available. We defined one to five
objectives in the last lesson. For each of the objectives
to make it trackable, we will define three
to five key results. Key results are there to track the progress that you're making towards your goals,
towards your objectives. Be realistic in the beginning. Especially pick rather less
than more key results. I would suggest to start with three key results per objective, especially in the beginning. And yeah, try to achieve
around 70% in one iteration, in three months of your
key Rezar progress. Key results are specific
and time pound ambitious, but realistic and
measurable actions that will collectively allow you
to achieve your objective. Key results focus on tracking the progress
towards objectives. Usually you use numbers to
quantify the key results. Usually key results
answer the question, how to achieve my objective. You usually update your
key results weekly. It's very important that they are measurable,
quantifiable. You could, for example, say, walk 10,000 steps every day, or make it a percentage. But then be sure
that it's very clear which tasks need to be
completed to make it happen, you could use pounds
or pieces or articles. Yeah, just make it very
clear that you can update your key results on
a regular basis. Suggested is a Wiki basis, at least in the end of the iteration,
usually three month. If you have on average 70%
of your key results reached, you can say you were successful. Because as we said before, we are setting our
goals a bit higher and try to stretch our
efforts a little bit. If you always reach
100% of your Kosar, you should improve them because that's not how it's
supposed to be. You should set higher
goals and yeah, just make them a bit
more harder to reach. Now some examples of Kiss in
business and private area. We can two objectives that
we were defining yesterday. The first objective was become a counting
crating machine. Key result would be
create and post 60. Tiktok 60 is a clear number, you can easy track
it and measure it. Second key result could
be the objective, become a counting
grating machine, Produce and publish 12 high
quality videos on Youtube. The third key result, do the objective become a
counting grating machine. Could be complete the course, final cut from
beginner to advanced. All of this is measurable, Yeah, very trackable and
are good key results. We pick another objective from the private area that we
defined in the last lesson. We'll also try to come up with three key results for that. One, we pick the objective, develop habits for a
better and healthier life. One key result could be, walk daily more
than 1,000 steps. Again, easy to drag. You can easy update it and see the progress
towards your objective. Second one could
be the objective, develop habits for better
and healthier life. Could be, meditate 60 times. Again, very trackable, nice ist and definitely aligned with the goal to live
a healthier life. Kist. Number three could be, track your calorie
intake 60 times. Also related to objective, develop habits for a
better and healthier life. If you track your calories, you're more aware
of what you eat. Yeah, definitely also
a good Kyis art. Those were two examples
from the last lesson. Now you're almost ready. Yeah. In the next lesson
we're going to break down the result into actions
and initiatives. If you need further help for creating your own
objectives and results, you find a lot of
resources on our website, but you also can a care with us and consult us as mentor
or accountability partner. Just check out our website and we will help you on the
way. You're almost done. You know how to define objectives and also key results and why they are important. The next step we're
going to break the resorts down to make it more actionable so that you know on a daily basis what
you want to do. Yeah, if you need
further resources, you can find a lot of free
content on our website. If you want to speak to a mentor or consultant or
accountability partner, you can book a call on
our website and we're going to help you with Yeah. Making progress in your goal setting and reaching efforts.
7. How to break down your Key Results?: Welcome back to this video.
I'm happy you're here. Last session we defined
our key results. Today, we're going
to break them down. And it's all about how to
achieve your key results. Because a goal without
a plan is just a wish. As Antoine de San
Expre already said, a goal and the key
result can be too big, which means it's
too overwhelming. If you have a big chunk
of work ahead and you don't really know where to start and how to achieve it, that's a sign that you
need to break it down. And yeah, more detailed, you write down the first steps, how to get started,
how to get in motion, which is a really
important thing. The easier it will be to
work towards the goal. This is what we are
talking about today. We call the smaller
chunks of work that we find from our
key results initiatives. Initiatives, again, have more or a couple of action items that we can break them down to. They will just help you to find the direction or figure out what you want to try first to
achieve your key results. The initiative is a strategy, an idea of how to
fulfill the key result. Each initiative consists
of multiple action items. If you're just starting out
with your core setting, then you should really
follow the process. If you're in it for 2030 years, you already know how
to set your Cos, you're used to work
towards core setting. Of course, you can loosen up the system a little
bit and adjust it more to your needs
because you already know what you need to achieve. Maybe you just need a
little bit more structure. But yeah, when you start out, I would suggest to integrate initiatives in your daily
and weekly planning as well. It will help you
to make progress. But let's make some
examples to make it more clear how initiatives and action
items could look like. We already defined the
objectives in Sykes. Now let's define some initiatives
and action items to it. Be sure that for the week
ahead that you always have defined at least one
action item for an initiative. Because otherwise, yeah, you will just struggle
to get started. It's like the problem with the white sheet in front of you. If you want to start writing, it's always easier if you just really know what will
be the next step. And yeah, it will help
you to get started. But now I said, let's go and check
some examples. We had the objective become
a content creating machine. The key result we defined
was create and post 60 dicto in the span of the next three months.
Easy, measurable. As we said before, initiative could be grade a content plan. Grade A content plan is
still a consisting of more than one action item because you have to
do different things. Yeah. To make a content plan. And that's why we break
it down to action items, which could be for
grading a plan. Writing down what I want to talk about like some
brainstorming session. For example, check my
favorite Tiktokers and write down what I like most
with them, for example. And the third action item to the initiative, create
the content plan, could be research
the best keywords for my niche. And that's it. This was the first example for how to create initiatives
and action items To it, you already know now how
to define objectives and key results plus how to break it down into actionable items, tasks that you can
integrate in your day. Thank you for listening
and yeah, see you soon.
8. Tutorial: How to Set and Track your OKRs in Notion? (Free Template): Hello and welcome to this tutorial where
I'm going to show you how to set track and
achieve any goal with cars. I prepared a notion template
and an example for you. Yeah. To make the next
steps towards the goals. Yeah, I would say we
directly jump into it. I also prepared a
little persona, I will directly come
back to it soon again. But yeah, in this
template that I graded, you see the different
steps that we are doing. First, we will define the
period for the next OKRs. If I said it for the year, yeah, this would be a year. Then I would also define them
for the next three month. A typical period is three month, around 12 weeks after we have defined our
next next period, we will go to define
our objectives. Usually those will
be three to five depending on how much
time you have available. When we're done with
the objectives, we will define the key
results and also initiatives. Yeah. Then you are ready
to start your quarter, do your weekly updates. I will also show
you how you can do this in our template here. Yeah, I would say
let's jump into it. I prepared persona to make the example a
bit more realistic. Let's say I just quit my job and I want to
become a digital not, I want to start my own freelancing
business to begin with. Photo video editing and
social media management to finance the life
and yeah the world. I also want to learn
new skills and develop healthy habits just to become
fitter while traveling. I also want to make friends and socialize with
interesting people in the countries
that I'm visiting. These are basically, is the direction where I want
to develop in the next year. To keep a little bit shorter, I will not go into the
yearly objectives. The principle is the same
just for a longer timespan, but we will try to find objectives for the
next three months. In that example, we will
go with three objectives. For each of the
three objectives, we will define three key results to track the progress
towards the objective. And then also find some
initiatives to make it easier. Which are basically ideas
to how to get started with reaching your codes that you defined
in the key result. Let's get started. But
first things first, you need to go to
the template page. Then you can fabricate the template to
your own workspace. In Notion, this can take
a couple of seconds, then you see it already here. This is your workspace. Yeah, we can follow the step by step guide and start with specifying
the quarters here. We will delete the old one. We can just mark it and delete it and then add the quarter. Since 202033 is incoming, we are defining
at the following, let's say we want to start
our quarter next Monday. Yeah, we will have
12 release weeks. Yeah, since we are
going for three months, it will be around 12 weeks that we're working
on our objectives. The next step would be to
define our objectives. We said we will keep the
yearly objectives for now. What we are going to
do is add our free, predefined objectives
from before. As we said, we want to start or kick start our freelancing
career in Photoshop and video editing and
social media to earn enough money to be
able to travel the world. I copied this from here and
add a quarterly objective. We see it appearing
here in the name. You can describe it
further here if you like, but for now, yeah, this is fine. I select myself for the
responsible person, being the responsible
person here. Go to the next objective, we add another one since we also want to stay fit or even become fit and
develop some healthy habits. As another objective here, yeah, the third objective is start expanding
knowledge and skills. Since we want to grow
and learn new things, we also have this
on our to do list. As you already learned
in the course. You can find the link to the
course in the description. Objectives are there to give
you direction basically? Yeah, what you want to
work on in the next time. Yeah, we define our
three first objectives for the next three months. I think they are good. Now, the next step, as written here in the guide, would be define the key
results for the objectives. For each objective,
we are defining three to five key results just to make the
progress attractable. Yeah, this will help
us if we are on track, the words, our objectives, or if we need to adjust, maybe here and there
to reach our goals. We also have one objective
here, result already here. I will delete it and
start adding a new one. As we did it before, I start copying the key results in key results usually
contain a number. Yeah, because you need to quantify somehow to track
it in our T reviews. Later we will update the key
results on a weekly basis. We also will see the progress
towards our objective. Then in that case, for our first objective, kick start freelancing career in photo video editing and
social media management. We have the goal to secure
at least three new clients. This will be our first
objective, key results, We will connect it to
our freelancing career. You need to do this
here, then it will show up later related
to your objective. Here we set our starting point. We start with zero clients. Our goal is free clients. Yeah, the first one is here. I also will already copy the initiatives there
that we don't have to touch each of the
results again for securing at least three
consistent clients. The first, the first initiative could be develop a portfolio, show photo, video editing, and social media skills. Reach out to potential clients through freelancing platform, social media, and
professional network. And the third initiative
could be offer a discount or bonus service
for the first few clients. For feedback and reviews, this is basically nothing
that we will track on. Those are just ideas how
to reach our key result. The second one, the
second key rest, I will go a bit faster now, is generate a steady monthly, at least $1,500 income that
covers basic expenses. I will just add it here, set to go 1,000 or basically
since it's three months, 4,500 in the beginning. It can take longer for sure. But yeah, it's also not
the goal to always reach 100% like the target
goal is around 60, 70% of your objectives. You can really set
them higher and really challenge in the
process starting zero, I think we set everything we also need
to set the quarter. I will do this here as well just to be sure we have minus now. It's because it's just
starting next week. I will change that, that the release
start is already, it was already last week, but yeah, as you said, you can leave that as
well, like this here. You can set the
unit, it's money. You can also add
different things here. We will also define
three initiatives. Determine a pricing strategy
that balances market rates, personal skills,
and living costs. Actively market services
online with local communities, and maintain high quality
work and communication. Let's copy this as
well and put it in here to speed this
process a little bit up. You can also just duplicate your last key result and
then just exchange the name. Our last key result for
the objective is receive positive feedback
from the Giants. Coal is free. Yeah, our
initiatives are also clear, regularly request guides,
feedback to improve services, ensure prompt delivery
and high quality work, and maintain professional and open communication
with the clients. I think those are also
great initiatives and three pieces of review is the thing here, let's check up. We already also see here for the first objective picks
that freelancing business, The key results receive
positive feedback, generate steady income, and secure at least three
consistent tides. We have to add six
more key results for the other objectives, like begin fitness journey
and develop healthy habits. I will do this right now. I will go a little bit faster. Now we start with zero
and we have 12 weeks, five times, which is 60, 60 times of workout. I will copy the initiative
ideas here then we just got period also the objective, which is the fitness journey. In the case, I will
copy this two times. Tablo fasting is the next
key resort practice. 16 hours fast, 8 hours, eating five days a
week. Let's do that. Here are some initiative ideas. Create a sched when you want to fast's 60 times since
it's five times a week. And track your progress
in notion. A great way. The first year result is take at least one day
fully off per week. Yeah. To explore the places where you were
traveling to and Yeah. Learn something about
the culture and also recover from
the working week. Do it like this. Yeah, the initiatives are also clear plan block the days off in advance,
plenty of breaks. It's also important
to not burn out. You need to listen to your
body when you need breaks. Sometimes we forget about that. But on the long run, you really need to take
care of yourself and also have enough breaks and time off to refill your batteries. It's also helpful to follow your schedule during
the week and not waste your time and try to
automate whatever you can. Then we have the last objective, start expanding
knowledge and skills. Read at least three books to personal growth. Yeah, please. This is one idea to do
So let's replace this. We start with zero and we have three books, This
is one per month. The initiatives are
also clear research and create a reading list set
aside dedicated reading time each day Using E reader or audiobooks tweet weekly in a thread about what
you have learned. To also apply or store the learn information
in a stronger way, we go in again and
select periods free. The objective is start spending a personal
knowledge and skills. Then I will copy it twice again. Second, second period Art. Here is finish online
course related to photo, video editing or social
media management. Also quite clear on
online course Resurgent, Choose the most suitable
course, the Princess. Our objectives, create study
schedule and stick to it. And also apply the knowledge to your own social media
accounts to grow your business. The third result would
be learn the basics. Let's say 200 phrases of local language in each
country you visited. We would only do that if we stay longer than one
month in the country. For that, you can
use apps like lingo. You can of course, go to local meet ups or
whatever helps you do. What is also really helpful is to develop a daily habit
of language learning. We also do that just in the
morning after waking up. Half an hour can help
you to reach your goals. So we have the specified
the quarter objectives. Set the key results. Yeah, also the initiatives. We also already assigned the key results that we defined to an objective
and the period. Yeah, you see here the progress is zero since we
didn't start yet. But as you also heard in
the course, what is really, really important to make your objective and
key rest method successful is frequently
updating your key results. I would suggest to do
this at least week, maybe in a group, in the team. If you're alone,
you can of course, do it alone or find an
accountability partner. Basically go to your key rests. You can do it here, you can click on the temperate
here, key rest, track, then track my week and say, okay, I'm tracking week one, I did add my day off this week, so you can add value
one if you are, for example, like I
will show you with the fasting for exercise
at least five weeks. Let's do it here as well. You can add your
key rest tracking, you just need to do
this in the first week, but then it will be here already for the next week and say, okay, we are in week one. This is the keys exercise for at least 30 minutes a
day, five times a week. Yeah, let's say you didn't
managed to do it five times, but we did it three times. You can add the value here and then it will be
automatically updated. And you see the progress. You see we added here, yeah, updated our progress and
the program is now at 8% here with the exercise, it's at 5% Let's also update
the intermediate fasting, let's say we did it five
times a week as plant. Yeah, we are also at 8% Yeah, that's what you do
on a weekly basis. You basically go through
all your key results and update the values here. We also see the total progress
that we have for now. Basically, that's what
I also wanted to show you because we already assigned before the key results to the objective and
the time period here when we were
defining the key results. But you can also do it in the
assigned key results block. It's maybe easier because you only have them here
you see you have your key result and
then here you can choose your objective
that it's belonging to. And also the period when you
plan to do this objective. That's it for this video. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and see you.
9. How to take action?: Welcome back to this video. Today we're going to
talk about taking action because knowledge isn't
power until applied, as Dale Carnegie already said. Yeah, it's just really
important not only to plan, but actually really
take action as well. I know many people, maybe I was one of them myself, 25 years ago, who
just got lost in the planning and not
took action enough. You really need the
right proportions there. Usually in the end, it's about taking actions
because that is what will bring you forward and bring
you closer to your goals. So to summarize that, you just should do as much
planning as necessary. But yeah, you really
need to get going and take action and that's the key, We will talk about it. Now, a little reminder, you're not alone
in this journey. Everybody is struggling
with procrastination, with problems that come up
that we're not planned in. You just need to find
a way how to deal with them so that they don't
shake you off your path, that you have ahead to
achieve your goals. Everybody knows that feeling. You wake up in the
morning and you feel like crap, it's normal. Just use the energy
that you have. And moving forward, even if you have a bad hair day
or you have a bad day, just do less or do
different tasks. Just keep the streak going. Keep moving forward to your
gods every single day, and then you will
succeed in the end. That's how easy it is, or at least in theory,
how easy it is. As we learned before,
your time and energy is a very limited resource
use it wisely. More important than working
hard is working smart. If you can combine both work hard and smart,
of course, great. Also during your journey, first three month of iteration of objectives
and key results, you might spot a result that
just doesn't make sense. It's not a big deal to
change the key result, especially when you start out that's normal.
It can happen. But just make sure
to take a note, what's the problem with the
key rest and consider it in the review when you are doing your final retrospective
after three months, look back why you planned it in and why it didn't
work out just to improve every iteration and make or better objectives and
results for the next iteration. One example, Covid 19 has really destroyed many successful and also sustainable
businesses overnight. Basically, if your OKRs are planned before Covid happened and you just need to react
to the current situation, of course you need to adjust
your objectives and results, but Covid is also not the
usual thing to happen. In the normal case, you should stick to your
objectives and rests, since it's just for a
span of three months. If you regularly change all your objectives and key
results within three months, it will be hard to
be successful with your business because, yeah, you need some direction
that you're following at least and some consistency in the process when you
want to be successful. Congrats, you're done. Just don't forget
to stay flexible, iterate and improve, but also do have some
fun on the journey.
10. How to measure and review your progress?: Welcome back to the video,
measure and Review. This is one of the
most and overseen, under rated and
underestimated point. If you're not measuring
and reviewing your goers after
some period of time, you're most probably
not going to succeed to look back after an iteration
and see what went well. What didn't go so well is
a really important part and can really make the difference between
success and failure, which is often really a tiny thing that can
make the difference. Yeah, it's also be hard to be aware of what was
really making the difference, but usually it's small things. It's actually way easier to set thoughtful goals than stay
on track and achieve them. As we learned before, there are many
obstacles on the way. Of course, many distractions,
many disappointments. Weekly reviews will
just help you do stay on track and improve
on a weekly basis. If you check on a weekly basis, worked in the last week
didn't work and then can do more of the things that worked
in the next week and do less of the things that didn't work or find new approaches, better initiatives
or action items. Then you will improve a
little bit every week. And that's what it's all about, as we said before as well. You need to find a system
that you can trust. It doesn't matter if
you start scribbling down everything in your
physical notebook. If you use Google Calendar
as I prefer to use notion because you can create way more sophisticated systems. It's not about the tools. This is also, can be
also a trap for you. If I talked before
about people who are just falling into the trap of forever planning and
never taking action. This can also happen with tools. If you're only playing around with the tools to make
the perfect system, you will probably forget to take actions to reaching your goals. Just try different things. Use the thing that work
for you over time. You will figure it out
and then stick to that. There are many different ways how to achieve what you want to achieve and which tools
you can use to achieve it. Just everyone's abilities and
preferences are different. Yeah, The most important
thing is that you pick the system or find the
system that suits you best. Yeah. Lets you move forward or supports your
journey forward best. It is essential to hold ourselves accountable
for the actions we do, but it's also important to
be accountable to others. Find yourself
accountability partner. If you want to use a
professional service, you can always
write us and yeah, can find an appointment to discuss how we can
help you on your journey. Accountability partners can
really make a big difference since they help you to stay accountable
towards your goals. Just schedule an appointment. Congrats. You're still here and you reached the
end of this course. By now, you should
be able to set track and achieve any goal
you set for yourself. In this course, we were going
through different facts about goal setting
and what keeps you away from
reaching your goers. We were talking
about being honest, on analyzing your
personal situation. To figure out the path to
the place you want to be, the person you want to become, the business you want to have. Then we talked about objectives
and key results first. What objectives are,
what key results are? How to break them down into
initiatives and action items. Yeah, how to take action,
of course as well. And find the system
that works for you. I hope you enjoyed this
course and see you soon.
