1. Introudaction: If you had told me
a year ago that my life can turn
around in a year, I wouldn't have believed it. But being on this side now, I can definitely tell you it is possible today I'm
going to share my exact framework for
how I plan on crushing my goals in 2022 so
that you can do it too. Ready, Let's do this. What you're going to
learn in this video is the exact framework I use for setting goals and working out a plan on how
to achieve them. I'm going to cover how
to set smart goals, how to identify your
why to stay motivated, how to break them
down into many goals. How to plan habits for success, and how to build systems
to support your goals. Back in 2018, I had a really rough time and there came a moment when I decided something needed to
change then and there or else my life was
going to go to waste. That's what I figured out
this system for myself that really helped me change
my life for the better. And ever since then,
I've been fine tuning it and I'm
ready to share it with you in hopes that it's
going to be just as transformational
as it was for me.
2. How To Make An Intelligent Goal: Step number one, goal setting. The first step towards
changing your life for the better starts with
the goal-setting itself. This is a crucial
point because a lot of people tend to set wrong
goals from the get-go, which then quickly
leads to burnout or simply dropping any
action fairly quickly. I'm not going to focus too
much on logos here because we're going for a positive
proactive video here. But just to give
you a few pointers, your goals should be smart, meaning specific, measurable, achievable, realistic,
and time-bound. So as an example, you shouldn't say, I
want more followers, but rather I'm going to get
to ten key followers by the end of September and know that this can
actually be done. So don't aim for 100 K followers and your
first-year on being on IG, I have a post about
this on Instagram explaining this in a
little more detail. So I'll link it for
you down below. But for now, I hope
you get my point. Now, how I like to start my
goal-setting session is with some reflection that's
crucial because when I sit down to really think
about what I've achieved, what I liked and didn't like, what worked and didn't. And then really
dig deep into who I want to be more of in 2022, the new goals become
so much more apparent. That's especially
important if you've set your goals around the start
of the year and notice that they haven't really been
fueling your actions in the first three months once you reflect
on your past year. So the next step is to divide your life into different areas. For me, that's health,
business relationships, money and personal, which I
used to simply call life LOL. Now, these can look a little
bit different to you, so feel free to tweak them, but that's what I
like to work with. Of course, some of
these areas will have some overlapping points
like business and money are personal
and relationships. But all in all, you
should be able to set clear goals
for each of those. A very crucial point
for me is to choose my priorities for
the upcoming year. From experience, it's almost
impossible to significantly progress in every area of
your life at the same time. So make sure you choose your absolute top
priority and one, or maybe two secondary
zones of focus. And I'll be completely
transparent here, despite me being a
full-time business owner and a content creator in 2022, health takes the
absolute top priority with the business being
a very close second, the truth is, in the past
few years my health has taken quite a hit and it's high time to really
get it straight. However, being a business
owner is really important to me and there are still big goals I'm working
towards this year. Now. I'm not going to
get too granular here and reveal my
whole master plan, but to share some of
my goals in 2022, we have completing
all my health checks which I had clearly defined, of course, by the
end of February. And a big Yey here because I've actually managed to
get them all done. Some stoked, read
15 books this year. I know it's not very ambitious, but between my tight
schedule and meat consuming podcasts
like a lunatic, I think that's okay
for this year. And producing and publishing
50 YouTube videos this year. Now with the last one, I am a little bit behind. A few things happened
in the meantime that put a huge
dent in my plans. So this video is
just as much for me as it is for you, my friend. The most important thing
here is to have these checks in place to be able to get
back on track quickly, back to my goals, see how
I've not made them vague. It's going to be much
easier to plan them and make sure we actually
accomplish them. One of the crucial part later, so make sure you stick to
the very end because we want to pair our goals
with true action. And speaking of action, I actually set my goals that
I have control over them. I could have easily
gone for get a 100 case of fibers on YouTube
by August 2022. But instead, I opted
for producing and publishing 50 YouTube videos
by the end of the year. The truth is, there
are so many variables when it comes to growing on any platform that would take
away from my empowerment. If I went for something, I can't really control that. Well. I cannot break down a goal of gaining X amount
of followers into actionable chunks
because it's not a linear task-based process. Of course, I can aim for it, but ultimately what
I can do about this myself is to create valuable
content consistently, hence my girlfriend production
and not for following. I really encourage you to
revise your goal this way because you'll feel
much more empowered.
3. How To Figure Out Your Why: Alright, the next bit
is to actually add my y to each and
every one of those. I want to tie my goals to a very strong reason why I
want to accomplish them. As an example, for
all my health goals, I have a collective y, which is I want to be an
energetic, strong, and healthy person that helps me on those tougher days
when I feel like quitting, which let's face, it is inevitably going to happen here, there throughout the year. The key is to take these bad
days into account and equip ourselves with the
tools that help us stick to our goals
no matter what. And that's one of the most
helpful tactics I use. Notice how my y tastes
to who I want to be more of and not just what I need
to motivate myself to do. As a side note here, I've carefully
chosen the wording here because I don't believe in the new version of myself or a better version of myself, or whatever other language
is constantly being used in the context of New
Year's resolutions or goals. What that does is
put some weird, completely untrue
notion in our head subconsciously that
somehow we are less than, and that's not the Spirit I want when working on my goals. I believe the person I
am at the moment has all the tools and qualities
to make my life better. So there's no need to
adopt a new version. For me, this means I
actually feel empowered and capable rather than somehow
defective or inferior.
6. How To Set Mini Goals: For any bigger goals, the kinds of goals I want to achieve towards the
end of the year, I have another process where
I break them down into smaller chunks so
they're more manageable. As an example, I know I want
to launch a course with some supplemental products
by the end of 2022. And that's an impossible goal to achieve if we just
leave it at that. This is why we want to reverse engineer it so that we can trace every step that needs to happen for the course
to be launched. I'm not going to go too
much into detail here because every big goal is
going to be different. But to give you an idea
of my thought process, I start by thinking
about the end game. First, I map out a path for how each of these
products relates to the course and I put them in a logical order with
a rough timeline. Then I think about
the big launch, what needs to happen, and
how I'm going to execute it. I break it down into tasks
and put them on a timeline. Next, I consider
what needs to happen for me to actually
deliver the course. I break it down into tasks
and put them on a timeline. Then the creation part, the curriculum, the scripting, the recording, break
it down into tasks, put on a timeline. I hope by now you can see
the process basically, I think about the big goal, break it down in smaller but
still significant tasks, then break it down further, and so on and so forth. Eventually you'll end up with a comprehensive plan on how to actually achieve that goal. Hand, to give you a
much simpler example with my 15 books in 2022, I basically divide
this number by how many weeks in
the year there are. And I know I need to
read one book and three weeks and I can put it on my tracker this way,
more on it later. Now that we have the goal-setting
or goal revision done, Let's move on to the next step, which is identifying our habits, step number two, habits. This is such a crucial point in this whole
transformational journey because I truly believe you can be successful
with your goals unless you form productive
habits around them. For my own personal
experience in the past, I had not been able to accomplish much of
what I consciously craved because I had no support in my
day-to-day life for this, Support is exactly
what habits provide. So what does it look like
in my planning process? Well, first I take my goal or the goal that's broken
down into many goals and think about what I would
need to do very regularly to make achieving this goal easier for my book go example, I know I would need to read
every day to make it happen. But hey, now I also know that I need to read a book
every three weeks. On average, I read books
that are around 300 pages. So it means I need to read
around 15 pages every day. That's a much more concrete. I had the plan than
reading daily. I do this for every
single goal I have producing 50 videos I
need to write every day, getting stronger, workout
four times a week, you get the drill here. It's about identifying the
most important action that you need to repeat to get
closer to achieving your goal. Once I have these
habits mapped out, I stack them together into small routines that follow
a somewhat logical order. For example, for my
morning routine, I bundled up, getting dressed
and active with yoga, followed by breath
work and meditation, followed by making
myself a juggler t and journaling than
revising my day plan. I have sets of habits
for when I first sit down to work and for
my evening routine. This way I don't just wake up and hope they're
actually going to feel great and do things
because I feel like it combine things that would
already do because I love them, like getting dressed
first thing, having green tea and meditating with things
I want to do but are not already habits like breath work journaling
and daily revision. Frankly, by now, these are
pretty much habitual to me because I've
been going on like this for months and months, not just from the
start of the year. And it just goes to show how creating these stacked blocks leads to actual progress and evolution in the
direction you choose. Of course, there will be habits which don't
perform daily, but rather weekly
or even monthly. What I like to do
is to schedule them for a particular day
of the week or month. So that's a fixture
and unknown negotiable in my life for your
content creation goals, this can be so many things. Monthly brainstorming
sessions are recording session every two weeks
with the content batching, these should have a place
in your general schedule along with the big action
chunks you plan for your goals. Once you've finished
mapping all of your habits, you should be left with a
pretty decent plan for success. But there's one
big piece missing that people constantly
under estimate.
9. How To Create System To Help You Achieve Your Objectives: And this takes us to step
number three systems. If we left our planning
at that stage, we would have our goals with some actions and habits
to support them. But there's still
no way to measure our progress or keep us in
check throughout the year. This is why so many
people set goals, but don't really set
themselves up for success. After all, you probably know the feeling where you
had a great plan and some grand goals only to forget about them in
quite a few weeks. Same goes for your habits. You may start off strong, but as time progresses, you may lose momentum
here and there and eventually
completely give up. I believe the reason it
happens is that people don't build systems around
their goals and habits. Now, what do I mean by that? Remember how at the beginning
I said your goals need to be smart and M stands
for measurable. You need a system for
tracking your progress that you know exactly where you're at and how well you're doing. Thanks to all that measuring, not only are you
putting the goals at the forefront of your
thoughts each day, but you also get
invaluable feedback that can help you improve
your life further. First of all, it's very
rewarding for most people to see all your habits and tasks with a big green checkmark
right next to them. It gives us a great sense of accomplishment and it's
not that stupid either because it's hard
to keep up with all the little things you may want to do at the same time, especially when
you're stacking them. Secondly, after tracking
your progress for some time, a clear picture will emerge telling you
exactly what's going right and what you need to work on more with this
kind of feedback, you'll be able to see
where you're falling behind and identify
the reasons behind it. Whether it's because your y is not strong enough
to motivate you, whether you don't have strong
habits, backing or actions. Whether the habits themselves are met with a ton
of resistance. All this information gives you an opportunity to
adjust your course. Every year I prepare and tweak my habit and goal trackers
to suit my needs. For those of you who watch
my videos regularly, you'll know how
much I love Notion. So it will come as no
surprise to you that this is where I track
the bulk of my progress. I have a special page
for my goals that I look at at least weekly to get myself excited about what I've accomplished and
what's yet to come. I also track my habits on a special weekly
tracker and I pull up a new spread with
one click of a button. Apart from that, I have
a few other apps for very specific things like
my social media analytics. So my YouTube Studio app or
my Instagram insights, etc. My workout app to track
progression and strength and a variety of different apps
that support my processes. And speaking of processes, a big part of having a system
is Kevin clear path laid out for certain activities in your life that gets you
closer to your goal. We've talked about
routines which are very much a part of that system. Good to lay out some
ground rules for how you approach
specific actions. As an example, I have a very
clear process for producing my YouTube videos and
for batch creating my content for other
social media platforms. I have a whole video where I talk about my
YouTube production, which can help you
understand what I mean by it in detail. Basically, I know what my process is every
step of the way. So when I plan my videos
for a few weeks or so, it's so much easier to lay out all the tasks I need to
perform in the coming weeks. This process, along with your teams and your
progress tracking, forms a system
that's making sure your laser-focused on the tasks ahead and it's eliminating any doubts or chaos
or confusion. Your path to achieving
those goals is laid out clearly
in front of you. All you need to
do from now on is work hard and stick to the plan. I can't tell you how
much this method has helped me shape
my reality and how much more I've been
able to accomplish since working like that from
around 2018 or so, I'm confident that it
can do it for you too, because this is
how you can really crush your goals in 2022. But thinking more broadly
in life to bonus point, to motivate you even more, I highly recommend
you read James clears his classic book, Atomic Habits, which talks in detail
about the signs of habits and how to really
transform your life with them. Even though I only read it back in late January this year. A lot of what he says in
the book is very much connected to the framework
I've shown you here. I'm positive. It's going to give you a lot of other tools and techniques
that can really help shape your reality and really help you build successful
routines for yourself. James also goes in
detail about things like tying your
habits, your identity, like habit stacking some
great techniques on how we can break bad habits and
replace them with good ones. And so much more. It's one of those books
that everyone should read. And for me it's up
there on the shelf with the top books
I've ever read.
