1. Introduction: Hello and welcome
to this new course about Fusion 364 circuit design, simulation and PCB
manufacturing. Most of you already
know Fusion 360. It's a very famous and
trending 3D design software. And they have provided
a free circuit design, simulation and PCB manufacturing tools for all of
engineers out there. Even if you are not engineers, you can create your own circuits easily and for free
using the software. Fusion 360 is a
cloud-based CAD cam and it's a tool for collaborative
product development. You can work on the same circuit with multiple people all around the world by simply sharing
a link to that circuit. Fusion 360 combines fast
and easy organic modelling with precise, solid modelling. To help you create
manufacturable designs. You can simply get this
design manufacturers, since it's a real-life
representation where fusion saves your data. All Fusion 360 design data
is stored in the cloud. You can access them easily
and securely from anywhere. You can also use group
projects to control who can access your design data and
who can collaborate with you. If you don't have
Internet access, you can still use Fusion
360 and offline mode and save the schematic
on your PC or Mac. Fusion 360 electronics
war workspace expands the capabilities of
Fusion 360 software to create electronic designs. This platform now includes
a schematic workspace that works alongside and in real time with a
printed circuit board, which is the PCB
that you are seeing. Right now. Completed designs
can be exported into the compatible
manufacturing file using the computer assisted
manufacturing or CAM in short. Processors. That
workspaces include spice based schematic
simulation, and comprehensive design
rule check to make sure that your circuit doesn't have any arrows for compliance
with manufacturing standards. The building blocks of every successful circuit
board is its schematic, that schematic editor and
this software, amazing. It's engineered to
save design time by providing access to
thousands of components. And let's now talk about what you will
learn in this course. First, you will learn how
to download and install the free software Fusion
360 from Autodesk website. Then we will explain the
user interface in details. And you will create your
very own first schematic. Then you will learn how to import external
libraries for free. For other components
that you can't find. The default libraries. We'll get more electronic items, thousands of thousands of items. You can download
them from a line, or you can simply use the built-in wizards and
the software itself. You will also be able to
check your schematic for errors before converting
that schematic to PCB. And you will, with
a singular click, convert your schematic PCB. And you will learn how to use manual and automatic
routing for PCB. You will also learn how
to check for errors and how to get the 3D view
for your circuit. Now, why Fusion 364 circuit
design, PCB manufacturing. The first thing is
that the software has, it's a free software and it
has tons or heap options. When it comes to
electronic components, you can simply download and library for free and start
using it right away. You don't have to buy a license or by the software itself. And they don't have a
subscription option where you try the software, then it will suddenly
become a paid software. It's free and you can share
your documents online. Fusion 360 fits in the design process because it connects different people
on the same project. Provide a platform
that you can easily use to share your idea and
get the help from others. To start applying it. You can explore and
define the form of your design with modelling
and generative design tools. It also supports top-down
design methodology. It uses a top-down
design approach in which you break down a system to gain insight into its compositional
subsystems. It allows you to go
into the details of every component so that you can control everything your system. It also has a file structure
where you place components that act as a single
functional unit into an assembly document. You can also create
bodies and components. If you are more familiar with a CAD system that References External
parts in an assembly. The first thing to know
is that Fusion 360, equivalent to a part
file is a component. All components exist
in the same Fusion 365 and you can
easily access them. It also had recruited groups. It's supposed joins
and as-built joints. You can even contact sets and contacting sets is basically a very amazing tool
that you can define the limits of motion that occur when the components
come into contact. These are a lot of
details I know, and it's a very
long introduction. But I tried to show you all of the possibilities that this
software are far and why I'm preferring it over all of the other softwares
that have been using, etcetera ending software. It provides a lot of tools and
it supports importing your schematic from
different softwares to create your PCB here, you can even create our case, 3D case for your PCB
using this software. It's all built n. I'm sure that you will
enjoy this course material. And as you can see, this is
a sneak peek of a 3D created PCB circuit that you can create yourself either Sunday
or multi-layer PCB. Sky is your limit
using this software. I'm sure that you will
enjoy this course material. This is Ashraf from education
and engineering team. See you inside.
2. Fusion 360 User Interface: Hello and welcome to the last one in which
we are going to start introducing the
Fusion 364 circuit design. The first step is going and
open up that Fusion 360. Go to the Start
menu, Fusion 360. Or you can simply
write it to find it. As you can see,
autodesk Fusion 360, you must have an active
Internet connection. As you can see here. Since most of the software
libraries are online, and this is an online
based software. Now we have the user interface. This is the design or the
3D design user interface, and this is the grid. We don't want this interface, we need that circuit
design interface. So go here to the File menu and choose
new electronics design. Now, this is the electronic
design user interface. As you can see in this corner, we have a new schematic, a reference to an
schematic document that you already have. A new PCP reference
to a PCB document. Now, these differences
will be used later. There are basically four
designs that you already have, either from this software
or from other softwares. What we need to do
now is simply click this icon to create
a new schematic. Now, this is the
schematic design area. And we are going to explain
this or this different boxes, then start working on
our circuit design. Now, on the left side here, we have the design manager. And inside design manager, we have the sheets. Basically these sheets,
as you can see, this is sheet number one, are different circuit designs. You can add more than one
sheet and each circuit design. Now this is the parts list, the electronic parts that
we are going to use. And these are the items list. Here. You can choose
what you want to view, and here you can filter things. Now this is the design area, the white area in the middle. And these are the controls
for this design area. As you can see, undo, redo, zoom in or out, or zoom to fit. You can also add
the grid settings. You can turn the grid on or off. Now if we turn the tone, you can click Okay, and as you can see here, we have a grid or you can turn it off. You can choose to
show dots instead of lines. As you can see. And you can control the size and the multiplication in
millimeters or n or metal. Now, this is the grid. I prefer turning one with lines. Now, another thing
that you'll need to know is that coordination. As you can see as
my mouse moves, we can see here two numbers, the x and y coordinates. As you can see, depending
on the origin point. Now, from this menu bar toolbar, you can switch to PCB document. From this schematic document
that we are n here, you can see more info about this document and you can show
or hide different things. This is the grid control, like the one we had here. And this is the display. You can choose what you
need to be displayed. Depending on the items
that you have here. You want to show that model. The pins assembles the names, the values, the information,
all the guides. You can even add new
layer and name it something and give it a
collage, as you can see here. You can hide layers by clicking here or edit them by
double-clicking. I know them. Now, you can use this to copy and paste these two
different items. This is the ad parts icon. You can click on it and start adding different
elements and parts. You can drag a diode, double-click and you
can add that diode. We will talk about
that in a minute. Click Okay. Now, as you can see
in the past list, we have these diodes. And once you click
one of these parts, let's say that we have
selected this or this. You can see here and the items, the pins for that
specific diode, D1 or died one. We have two pens, which are the items
for this part. And we are working on Sheet1. Now, if you want
to move an item, you can simply click
here and start holding that. As you can see. You can move it to
whatever you want. If you want to rotate it. You can do the same
thing by clicking here and choosing the item
that you want to rotate. You can even mirror this item. Now, if you want to connect
different items together, you need to choose the net, this icon, and simply come
to one of the two ends. And you will see a circle. Once you see our circle, you can simply start
drawing. And that's it. This is how you can connect
two items together. You can choose the blend
modes from this menu. And in that case, as you can see, I have choose the curve
node and we have a curve. You can choose any other mode
depending on your needs. As you can see, you
can choose the style, that radius, and other stuff. Now if you want to
rename any part, let's say that we want
to rename this one. You need to choose
the name icon. Click the item that you want
to rename. Let's name it. You want to ask them,
as you can see now, it will have the new
name, the one ASM. Now, as you can see here, you can add a label
to a specific item. And depending on the type of
labor that you wish to add, you can simply add additional
information in this label. So you can add another
lipid to any other item. And you can rename that
label by simply choosing the name icon and click the plus sign and rename it with
whatever you want. Now, we have the Porsche icon. And this icon. Now you can use this to
add different ports. And if you clicked here, you can add boss and you
can even add a new model. You can easily draw the bus line and start
connecting elements. You can start drawing using
your mouse left button. And once you are done, you can simply press Escape. Now, the simulate
menu from its name, it can be used for simulation
of electronic circuits. You can simulate any element. All you can show simulation
overlay on your schematic. You can even get a voltage
meter or phase prop. As you can see, it
has a lot of options. You can add different
models and you can add digital source or analog
source, or simply simulate. Now since we don't
have anything here, the simulation one-twelfth,
but we will test it out once we create our circuit. Now in this Modify menu, you can change the value
or split or slice. This is more like a sure thing. To change the layout, to change how things look. So we want to really
concentrate on this. This is the Select menu. You can click here and
select different items. You will get them
here, this menu, and you can choose what you
want to show or to hide. Now, one last thing
that we need to mention is the
command line mode. As you can see here, we have
click or press control plus L key to activate
command line mode. And if you press control plus L, you can start typing commands. You can type anything
that has a list of commands that Fusion 360 upside. Depending on what you are doing, whether you are adding
or deleting an item. Now if we want to
delete command, we can simply write
delete and press Enter. As you can see, that the
disk command was activated, you can also choose
the copy command. The copy command will
be activated as well. That's it. Now, as you can see here, we have sheet number one, and here we have
sheet number one too. You can choose different items, decrement, validate,
automate, or library. But we won't talk
about all of these. We just concentrated
on the user interface. Now, if you have any questions regarding anything in
this user interface, you can ask it in the Q&A board. And then x plus one, I'm going
to teach you how you can add different
electronic items and how you can easily import new libraries for other items
that are not available.
3. Adding Electronic Parts and Libraries in Fusion 360: Hello and welcome The
senior lesson in which I'm going to teach you
how to add parts or components to your
schematic and how to add different libraries if you don't find any of the
parts that you need. The first step is make sure that you are
in the schematic mode and go to the library menu by simply clicking
here in the ADD bars. From this menu, you can simply choose
what you want to add. As you can see here,
we have a delay. Now, this is the schematic
and this is the PCB view, and this is the 3D view. Let's go and look furrows. As you can see, this is how our resistors
schematic looks like. This is the PCB view and
this is the physical layout. Now if you want to add this
resistor to our Design, Double-click and
simply start adding. By clicking on your
left mouse click. You can add as many
resistors as you want. Now, one thing that
I need to mention is that if you use your
right mouse click, you can rotate the item. Then you can use your left
mouse click to place it. Now here I'm clicking
my light mouse button. And once I'm done, I can click the left
mouse button to place it wherever I want. Another way is by
simply clicking Kish. As you can see, this
is the rotate mode. And we can do this easily
using these two icons. Once you have done click Scale
button on your keyboard, you will go back to the Add
menu to add another item. If you are satisfied with
items that you'll have added, you can click Cancel.
And that's it. If you want to go back
and add other items, you can click here and simply search for the item
or look it up here. You can search by writing
the item, number or name. As you can see, this
is a transistor, but you have to
make sure that you have the right item,
name, and number. Now, let's say that we want
to add the time March 5, 55. If you look for it,
we won't find it. So we have to add it
ourselves in order to add a new item that we
don't already have here, you can simply go here and
click Open Library Manager. So click here. Now, as you can see, these are the InDesign
in use and available. The InDesign means the items that you are currently
using in your design. And we are using the diode
and resistor, which is right. Now the news. These are the libraries
that we have here. Now, our software. Now the available, these
are the libraries that are available online from
different manufacturer and that we can use. Or we can simply plows
for our library. You can download the
file anywhere online. Or you can simply look
for your library here. As you can see, it has
a lot of elements. And there is outflow libraries. E.g. we have microphone library, we have memory library
from PCB layout, and we have the linear
devices library. So let's solve the
linear device libraries. Doubleclick, as you can see, all the singular
click and click Use. Now it's downloading
delineate library. Now it's the news. Or in your story. Now you have to click valid
Library and click Use. Another library is
the let-7 segment. Then click Use. You can
go through all of these. You can simply
search for the item. As you can see, this
is the admin library. You can also use it. That's it. Now, we
have the art mill, we have the lead and
the linear libraries. You can remove or edit
any of these libraries. Now let's go back. You can go to the library and make sure that you select the timer that we
already mentioned. Double-click. And from here you can choose any of
these timelines. They are all the same, but they have
different packaging or different layout
depending on your design. Double-click. Know bark. This is it. Now let's place it here. Here. Again, you can rotate it or you can moderate
depending on your needs. This is how you can easily add missing libraries to Fusion
367 with design software. If you couldn't find
an item or if you have problem adding any
of these libraries, please ask or send me a
message on the Huron table. I'm here to help you. Thanks for watching.
4. Creating our First Schematic: Hello and welcome to this
lesson in which we are going to talk about this or how to create your very own circuit schematic
using Fusion 360. Now this is the circuit
design that we are going to create our Fusion 360. Let's talk about
it a little bit. Now. As you can see, the main element
is our timer, 555 times. And we have four resistors. We have two lids, we have two capacitors.
As you can see. We have a connector and some power rails,
voltage and ground. It's a very simple circuit. And after creating
the schematic, we are going to
create a PCB design to get to know the Fusion 360 and how easy it is to
create a circuit inside it. Now, let's start by
adding four resistors. And the time. Let's go back here and create
new electronic design. Click on that new schemata. Now we have this area. Let's enable the grid
view. That's it. Now, let's click on the ad part. And from here, we can look
for the bars that we want. A few couldn't find a parse. Usually the linear library
won't peel stalls. You have to go to
the library manager and look for the linear
library here and click Use, use it in your software. Design. Now, since we have it, we just need to go to
the library 555 item. And from here we need this m555. And now you can easily add it to your schematic by clicking ones on
your left mouse click, then click escape
to go back here. We will also need resistors. So go back, select resistors. And from here, you can choose
any of these resistors. Now, depending on your
design or your PCB design, you can choose any
of these components. So let me choose this one. As you can see, it
has an awesome D and a PCB schematic
double-click. And from here, you can rotate by using the right mouse click. And we need to add four stores. Then click scape and cancel. Now if you didn't like
how this is the lock, you can change it by
going out two parts. You can even look for other resistors in
the library manager. Here. As you can see, we have two elements
that we can choose from. Here we have a relays
and we have rectifiers. We have resistors,
more than one library. So let's select all of these stores libraries
and use them. As you can see, it's downloading and installing all of
this resistor libraries. Now they are available
for us to use. As you can see here,
you can simply click and choose any
other type of resistor. We have potentiometer. We have resistor array, and we have different packages
for different resistors. There is a lot of items. It's up to you to choose
whatever works for you. Now to add like a Buster, you can simply go and
look for the capacitor. And from there, you can choose
any of these capacitors. As you can see that
there's a lot of items. I will choose one that has three d view because
we are going to create a PCB design and
we can change it later. Now, double-click
on that capacitor. Again, we already mentioned
that in our design. We need to cover stores. This one, and this
would be like that, and the other one
have to be rotated. So let's go back
to our schematic. Use the right mouse
click and rotate it, or we can simply rotate
it using these icons. Okay, Now similarly
place it here. Now we will also need to lids. So let's go back by
pressing Escape, and let's minimize this. We're already on stole
the LED library so we can use any of the sleds. We just need a single lead. As you can see, it
has a lot of options. Now, you can simply
inside the little menu, another lead, click on it. And from here, add any of these. Okay, we will use this one has a nice physical layout
and it looks about right, the one that we have here. Now, let's add this lid
up here and down here. Now let's add the
two leads to click Add bar and go to the library. Inside the tool,
find another lid. And from there select lid 5 mm. Double-click and
add the slit here. And down here. That's it. Click scape. Now click Cancel. What we need to do at this point is start connecting elements. If you are not satisfied with the location
of any of these elements, you can simply click the Move and move that
element whatever you want. Now, to start routing, you need to click on the net, on the icon and start
connecting elements together. Now we know that these two
resistors are connected. That is a source
connected to the read according to our schematic. Now, you also know
that these prints, pin number three,
is connected here. And we know that these two
are connected together. And these two are
connected together. Now, this capacitor is
connected to pin number five. And print number seven
is connected here. Now, pin number two is
connected down here. And we have also pin number six, which is connected here. Now, print number eight
is connected to power. And we are adding
this in a minute. But that's it. These are
our main pins. Click, Okay. Now we need to add the
connector and power. Click Add parts. Go back and look
forward by connectors. As you can see here, you can choose any
of these connectors. We need a two-parent connector. Now, double-click on
this and the tears. We also need the
power or the supply. So we don't have a
supply library here. We can simply add it. Go Open Library Manager. And from here, look for
the supply library. Now we have supply one
and supply to click Use. Then go back. Here they are. We can choose the
ground from here. Click Okay, now we need to place the ground on dislocations. We need to place the ground on the ground plane here with
your right mouse click, rotate it and place it here. We also need a ground
on this capacitor. And we will in the ground
for this connector. I'm zooming in and out
with my mouse scroll. So it's not hard task. And we also need to grounds
here. Here and here. Now we need. Positive power supply. You can select plus five volt, or simply select the
blas naturally flaked. And let's start adding
that v plus here. Here. And we need one scale for, okay? Now, our circuit is ready. We can proceed connecting
elements together. Choose the net tool, the first element, and
connect the second one. That's it. Now, this is our circuit and we still
have the fibroblasts, which is this, then we
need to connect it. Let's add v plus the paths. That's it. This is our circuit. You can select anything with the selection tool to make
sure that it's shown here. Here we have ground, the JBR10 and other elements. So this is our
circuit schematic. We have added resistors, capacitors, ground and power. We have added the timer, 555. And the last step now is
changing the elements values. Now, you can zoom in to any of these elements,
as you can see here. And you can see
the probabilities of that part on this slide menu. Here. Now to change
the element value, you need to click
on the value icon and click on that element. Then start changing
these values. This resistor is 220 candle, and this resistors also 220 K. This one is 470 k. And this one is one. We have also our
campus to reach. As you can see, one hue. And we have this capacitor. We can change it to ten nano
according to our schematic. That's it. Now we have changed the three or four resistor
values to cholesterol values. And that's it. This is how you can create a schematic diagram and how to connect different
elements together. Now to make sure that our
schematic doesn't have ears. You can go to the validate
menu and from there, click the ERC check. Now as you can see, we have one error. The error is that the
unconnected input pin on the IC1 are now must be connected to positive four supply and we have forgotten to connect it. So let's go back.
As you can see. This is why ELC check
is very good because sometimes you might
miss something and it will give you a warning
or an error message. So let's go back. And V plus k, That's it. Scape Cancel. Go back to validate. Click ERC. Now we don't have any errors, and we have some links. And these are simple one x. If you double-click
any of these warnings, as you can see, it will show you exactly where is the problem. Now. It's telling us that
there is an overlap and it's no problem. And the silane gas that
doesn't have a value, and it's okay
because it's solid, it doesn't have to have a value. So sometimes you can
ignore this one x. Now, again, this is our
schematic and you can save it with whatever you want. Let's call it first
555 schematic, particular k. The next lesson, we are going to create a
PCB for this schematic. So stay tuned. If you
have any question regarding animal these parts
that we already mentioned, or if you face any problems
adding any of these elements, you can ask in the handle.
5. Create Your PCB Design and 3D View : Now that we have created
our circuit design, the next step is creating
our PCP schematic. And to do so, we need to
make our last ARC check. Since all what we
have as warnings, you can select all of
these and approve them. So you'll no longer
have any of these. Now, click switch
to PCB document. Now we are on the PCB. In design mode. As you can see, this is our PCB. And you can change the size of that PCB by simply
dragging and dropping. As you can see. Let's make
it a little bit smaller. And let's move it from here. That's it. Here are the items that we need
to add to our PCB. And this is our PCB design. This is the board. These
are the items and we need to place these
items inside the sport. Now let's start select the Move tool and
start by dragging. Let them but one. And place it here. Then
drag the second lead. You have to click on this
plus sign and place it here. Now, let's drag that timer. Let's rotate it using our
right mouse click and place t. Now we need to
start dragging stores. Let's rotate them. This is R2, R3. And let's proceed and
place our four years. And we have the two capacitors. The first one here,
the second one here. The last element
is that connector. Now, these are our elements. What we need to do next is start routing these
elements together. Routing means
connecting these pins together to make sure that
they have connection. Starts routing, you simply
need to click on the manual. Now, to start routing, you have again to click
through out manually. But before doing this
to make sure that our positioning and wiring
is correct on the PCB. Go to the poor and
click poor polygons. As you can see, some of the
wires change their location. I will press Control Z so that
you can see what happened. As you can see, this wire was going there and now it's
coming from this point. So it's here. Now, once I click here, it will change its
position to here. As you can see, this is an
easier to track for the root. Now let's start manual routing. Click Route manual. Now, let's zoom in and you
can simply click on any of the points or legs or lids
and start moving around. This will be on the top layer. Now, what if you
want to create a via and place our IR on
the bottom layer, you can simply do this by clicking on one of these points. And while moving,
you can click with the middle mouse button
to create a fire, then place it wherever you want. Here. And you'll see that now
we have a blue eye are indicating that we are now
moving in the baton layer. And we can proceed
connecting. As you can see. Again, to create a via, you can start drawing on the top layer and click with
the middle mouse button. We should scroll
button, click on it, or click on the space
bar to create that fire. And moving forward,
you will be able to draw that bottom layer wire, which is in blue color here. Now let's try it
with another pen. Right here. Click Route manual and
click on the space bar. Then you will move in
the other direction. Now, to remove all of this or all of these
manual wiring roots. And to go to Auto routing, first, we need to
remove these clouds. Click here, click, wrap up All, and click Yes. All done. Now, go to quit roots
and choose Auto routers. As you can see here, we have the top and bottom layer selected since this
is a two layer board. And here you can choose the amount of effort
you want the software to do, the K to the auto routing. Choose high, and click Continue. Now it's showing you the
possible routing variance. So click Start. Okay, As you can see, we have a lot of solutions
around 212 solutions. And when you click one of them, you can see on the
PCB design area, who are you are standing
and how they are connected. I'll choose the one
with the minimum bias. As you can see, this is one. This is the first one which has the virus one or this one. I think that this one is better because we have these
two virus here. While this one, we have
more wiring in involved. Here. Then click End Job. Now we have our PCB routed and ready to be
created or manufacturer. We can simply print it out and start creating
this BSP ourselves. Or we can send it to one of the online PCB companies to create, to
create this for us. Now, you can click here to view the 3D shape
for that PCB design. As you can see here. We have this PCB. You can see it from
different angles. Here, I used two
types of elements, the elements and the
thrall elements. These three arthro hall
and this one is also a throw all these are
some of the elements. It's better to use the same type of elements and each ball. But I did this just to show you the difference between them. And as you can see here, we have a top layer routes and a bottom layer
routes. That's it. This is everything you need
to know about how to create a circuit schematic and how to, let's say, populate this circuit schematic into a PCB design. And we explained how to get a 3D view of that
circuit schematic. This is the first example. It's a very simple one, but you get the idea. And from there, you can move on to add different
libraries, different items. You can change that or
to route route settings. And you can play with
different aspects. Sometimes you can change the route width or you can simply remove
all of these routes. You have any questions regarding anything in the PCB design. Please ask in the Q&A board, if you face any problems
getting this shape, please ask in the Q&A board
or send me a message. I'll be more than
happy to help you solve any issues
that you might have. That's it for this lesson. If you have any questions, I'm here for you.
Thanks for watching.
