What is food tourism?: Before we start entering into more details, first of all, we need to define what is food tourism? Food tourism, also knows as culinary tourism or gastronomic tourism is a rapidly growing is within the broader realm of travel and tourism. It revolves around the idea that food and beverage play a pivotal role in the cultural exploration. And can provide immersive, memorable experiences for travelers. Food tourism goes beyond merely enjoying a delicious meal. It involves a deeper connection with a local culture, history, and the traditions through the act of eating and drinking at its core. Food tourism is about seeking out authentic culinary experiences that reflect the unique flavors and traditions of the particular destination. Travelers who engage in food tourism are often driven by the desire to explore the world through its cuisine, savoring and taste aromas and textures that define the region's identity. This can involve sampling street food from bustling markets, dining into renewed restaurants, participating in cooking classes, or even visiting farms and wine guards to witness the production of local ingredients. One of the key attractions of food tourism is its ability to create a sensionary journey that resonates with all the five senses. Travelers relies with the sight of a beautiful presented. This is inhale the enticing sense wafting from street stalls, savor the rates and diverse flavors. Listen to the stories and histories set by the local selves and food producers and even Tuts engage with ingredients themselves. Food tourism also fosters a sense of cultural exchanges and connection. It provides the opportunity for travelers to interact with locals, sharing meals and stories, and gaining a deeper understanding of the destination traditions, forging connections that go beyond the surface of the typical tourist experience. Furthermore, food tourism has economic and social implications for the destination in touches. It can boost local economies by supporting small scale food producers, farmers and restaurants, thereby preserving culinary traditions and promoting sustainability. Additionally, it encourages the preservation and celebration of culinary heritage, often resulting into the reviltization of traditional recipes and culinary techniques that might otherwise be lost to modernization. In conclusion, food tourism is a multi faced and enlisting way to explore the world. Combining the pleasures of gastronomy with cultural invention, it allows travelers to embark on a journey of taste, connecting with the heart and soul of a destination through its cuisine, and leaving them with a deeper appreciation for the diverse and delicious tapestry of global food culture. As always, thank you for watching. 3. The relationship between food and culture: Learning about the culture through its cuisine. It's a delightful and immersing journey. To do so, one can start by exploring traditional dishes and cooking methods. Either by sampling local cuisine in restaurants or trying out recipes at home. Engaging in food related activities like visiting local markets, attending cooking classes, or participating in food festivals provides valuable insights into culinary traditions. Additionally, interacting with locals and listening to their stories about food significance in their lives can offer a deeper cultural understanding. Savoring the flavors and understanding the history and symbolism behind dishes, you can uncover the essence of a culture and forge a meaningful connection with it through the universal language of food. Now let's see some examples of how to do that. For example, we can sampling iconic dishes like sushi in Japan, in Spain, or fo in Vietnam is going to provide us with insights into the flavors greetings, cooking methods that are integral to the culture. We can also, as we said, participate in cooker classes. If we enrolled in a cooking class led by local seve, we're going to learn how to prepare traditional recipes. The hands experience operate a deeper understanding of the techniques, ingredients unique to the culture. As I mentioned many times, one of the best way to delve into a different cut is by visiting the local markets. We can explore fasting food markets such as the Great Bazar Istanbul or Bokeria in Barcelona. Here you can observe the variety of ingredients, interact with vendors, and witness with the daily life of locals. I have to mention now that in some cases, those markets have become touristic. In reality, you observe the variety of edings that these people have prepared only for the tourists. But you can still find many traditional markets and interact, as we said, with the inventors and witness the daily life of the locals. We mentioned, that is very important to intend into food festivals. If you participate in a food festival and cultural celebrations like the Vado first in India or the Lunar New Year celebration in China, you will have the opportunity to witness the significance of food in these cultures. One of the best ways to connect or to explore a different culture is to dine with the locals. Seek out opportunities to dine with local families, or in homes to services like other similar services. There are some experiences, if you Google, you are going to find many services who offer that. Sending a meal with locals offers a glimpse into their daily life customs and the stories behind the dis. One other way to explore a different culture is by exploring regional variations. Many countries have the best regional cuisines. For instance, in Italy, you can explore the difference between the north and the south. It, and this is, it's influenced by unique historical and geographical factors. For example, here where I live in Spain, the difference between the cuisine of the north of the south is like you are in another country. There are obviously some similar ingredients like the olive oil. I have created a whole different course about all the regions of Spain and its food that represent the regions. Amazing to see the differences, you can see, for example, areas that have ports, they have obviously tendencies to have more seafood dies, but not in all the cases. Madrid doesn't have a port, and the traditional food of Madrid is by squeeze sandwiches. In the South Spain, they use a lot of olivoid and they used to fry a lot in the North, eat a lot of local cheese and fatty foods in the like in Valencia, they have more influence of the Arabs, the most traditional in the west, in the region that they are important with, Portugal, like Galicia, they have very similar, this is with the Portuguese. And obviously you can see that in the states the food of Louisiana and the food of Oregon or the food of New England is totally different. But okay, obviously that is in every country. Another way to learn about different faces is to learn about food Tiquet. Understanding the customs and etiquette related to dining, such as chopsticks, etiquette in Japan, or traditional remons in China can provide cultural insights and show respect to local traditions. Another way to do it is to reading about food history, delve into the history of culture, cuisine, through books, documentaries, or museum exhibits, learn about the origins of ingredients, and this can offer a deeper appreciation for me. The most important of all is the next one, and it is about engaging with locals. Strike up conversations with locals in caps markets or restaurants. Ask about their favorite foods, food related stories and accommodations for updating culinary experiences. Last but not least, for me, the most undiscovered form, all the most discommon way to explore different culture is through food, art and rituals. Discover how food is incorporated into art forms and rituals, like the intricate sugar skulls of Mexico Day of the Dead, or the food offerings in the Budd ceremonies to gain insights in the cultural symbolism. By combining these approaches, you can immerse yourself into the cultures culinary tradition, taste and stories, allowing you to learn and appreciate the words, diverse cultures through their food. As always, thank you for watching. 4. Factors that influence food culture, such as geography, history, and religion: Hello, now we're going to examine some factors that influence food culture, such as geography, history, and religion. Food culture is profoundly influenced by a multitude of factors, including geography, history and religion. Geography dictates the availability of the ingredients, setting the flavor profiles, and staple foods of the region. History leaves a lasting imprint on a culture's cuisine through conquest, trade, roots, and colonization. Introducing new ingredients and cooking techniques. Religion often plays a pivotal role influencing dietary restrictions, rituals, and the symbolism of certain dices. Together, these elements form a tapestry that defines a culture colinary identity, showcasing how interplay of time, place, and believes in ways that its fabric of food culture. Now let's see some examples in order to understand better how those three geography, history, and religion influencing the food culture. As for geography, coastal regions often have a seafood centric cuisine due to their proximity to the sea. For example, Japan, Sus and Italy is Mediterranean seafood diss in arid regions like in the Middle East, scarcity of water leads to the development of water efficient crops like grains, for example, wheat and barley, which becomes dietary staples. As for history, the Silk Road facilitated the change of spices and ingredients between Europe and Asia, leading to the fusion of flavors in dishes like the Indian curry, which incorporated European spices. The colonization of the Americas by European introduced the ingredients like tomatoes, potatoes, and corn to Europe, fundamentally altering their cuisines. Now let's see about religion. In Hinduism, the setdness of cows leads to a predominantly vegetarian diet in India. While the Islamic dietary laws such as halal and Haram influence the preparation and consumption of some kind of meat. Lenten dietary restrictions in Christianity have give rise to dies like fish on Fridays and the pods tradition of Patsky J Field doughnuts before length. As you can see, all three of them can be found almost in all cuisines in the world. And it's very important to understand how these three factors change and influence the food culture around the world as always. Thank you for watching. 5. Common food traditions and customs around the world: Hello. Now we're going to examine some common food traditions and customs around the world. Globally, food traditions and customs are as diverse as the cultures they represent. In Italy, the act of sharing a meal with Latvian is a series tradition with long, leisurely dinners and multiple courses. In Japan, the art of social making is elevated to a precise and river practice. India's rich tapestry of culinary customs includes communal feasting, the use of aromatic spices. Meanwhile, in Mexico, the day of the date, as we mentioned above, celebration features celebrated altars, ad with traditional foods, honoring disease lates, Chinese, New York bacquetts to American Thanksgiving dinners. Those customs not only neris the body, but also serve as a means of cultural expression, connection, and celebration, uniting people across the globe in the joy of sharing a meal. Now we are going to see some more examples with a little bit more details in order to make the subject of common food tradition globally a little bit more clear. In general, I believe that the best way for someone to learn is to examples. That's why from now on we're going to use a lot of examples. We will start with the tea culture in England Afternoon Tea is a quintessential English addition, where tea is served with finger sandwiches, clotted cream, and jam. It is an opportunity for socializing and relaxation. As we mentioned above, Chinese New Year Feast. During the Chinese New Year feast, families gather for a lavish reunion dinner featuring symbolic dishes like dumplings that represent wealth and the whole fish that symbolizing prosperity. We also have the Japanese kaki. Kaki is a traditional multi course Japanese meal that emphasizes sionality and testy in its presentation. It often includes small, meticulously crafted dishes. As we mentioned in the chapter above, we have the very famous Mexican A deals muertos. During the day of the dead celebration, families create friends, altars with traditional foods like sugar, skulls, pander, bread of the dead, and favorite dishes of the diseased loved ones. We'll continue with the Indian Vad Sweets Diva. The Festival of Lights is marked by the exchange of sweets and snacks among family and friends. Homemade treats like Gulab, Hamon and Zalebi are popular. We will continue with another favorite example, and one of my favorite Turkey's coffee ceremony. In Turkey. Brewing and serving coffee is a editualistical affair. It involves the presentation of strong, finely ground coffee in this special pot, often accomplished by sweet treats. We have the globally famous French wine and cheese parings. French is renewed for its culinary additions, including the art of paring wine and cheese. Different regions offer a wide variety of both. There are specific parings to change the flavors. We have also now the very famous and lately very trendy Ethiopian era era. A sponge Sordo flatbread is a staple Ethiopian cuisine. It serves both as a utensil and as a base for various stews and toppings, encouraging communal eating. We will continue with a very unique example. The Mocianaen refers to both the traditional clay pot and also the slow cooked stew. Preparing it, its method of cooking and serving that infuse flavors and brings people together. We will finish our examples with something that cannot be very objective as I am a Greek. The Greek Me in Greece, setting small plates of Mes, which can include items like Zazigi dies or grill cheese is a common way to enjoy food in a social setting. Those examples demonstrate the richness and diversity of food traditions and customs around the world. It's rooted in its unique history, culture, and values of the respective regions. Please in the common section or in the discussion section below, Save with me and with the rest of the people who are participating in this course, your own personal experiences or your own personal examples as always. Thank you for watching. 6. How to research food destinations and restaurants: Hello and welcome to how to Research food destinations and Restaurants. Researching food destinations and restaurants can enchangeculinary travel experience. Start by reading travel guides, blogs, and online reviews to gather recommendations and insights from fellow travelers. Utilize social media platforms to follow food influences and discover trending food spot. Engage with local food forums or ask for recommendations from locals on platforms like Reddit or travel forums. Forget to explore food specific apps and websites that provide restaurant reviews and ratings. Additionally, consider seeking advice from friends or acquaintances who have visited destinations you are interesting in the past. By combining the sources, you can create a well rounded picture of the best food experiences your chosen destination has to offer. Now we are going to see ten examples of how to research food destination and restaurants. Some of them, we already mentioned them in the paragraph above, but with more details. As I mentioned before, I believe the best way to learn is through examples. Now we're going to see ten examples with a little bit more details. As I mentioned, we will start with two of my soft spots. Firstly, we are going to see the travel guides, travel guide books, both in print and digital formats, which often provide comprehensive listing of popular restaurants, local food specialties, and dining recommendations for specific destinations. Obviously, if you choose printed versions instead of the digital formats, then you may have some results that they are outdated when in the digital format they're going to be up to date. But as I said, I have a soft spot for printed travel guides. I always prefer them. Even in some cases, the listings they include don't exist anymore or they have changed an address or they have lost quality. We'll continue with my second soft spot. The online review platforms. Websites like Trip Advisor, Yelp and Google Reviews offer user generated restaurant reviews and ratings. Reading those reviews can provide valuable insights into the dining scene of a particular area. I mentioned one of my soft spots, because I have more than 30 million views in Google reviews, I truly believe that the majority of the reviews in the websites are honest reviews because simply you don't have anything to win is not like the influence and marketing. Where the more reviews or the more like you have, the more benefits you may have. Literally, you can have millions of views in your Google reviews and you have absolutely zero benefit. People dedicate some of their personal time in order to write some reviews in 99.9% of the cases. Obviously, there are some cases where people are mean or they write reviews with different criteria than the quality of the surface they're receiving. Obviously, there are some cases where friends and relatives of the owner of the establishment are going to write some fake reviews. But as I said, in the majority of the cases are honest reviews from users. We will continue now with food blocks and culinary websites. Food bloggers and culinary websites specialized in exploring and reviewing restaurants and food destinations. They often share personal experiences, food photography, and expert opinions. Now we're going to talk about the social media we already mentioned. Use platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Nowadays X obviously Tiktok to follow local food influences. Research for location based food has stacks. The influence often say recommendations and photos of the culinary adventures. But as we mentioned above here we have the parameter that the more views they're going to have, the more benefits they are going to have. In some cases, you may feel that some of the post are sponsored or some of the Post are just made in order to attract attention. Obviously, I'm not saying that the majority of them have fake recommendations, but there is a significant amount. We'll continue with local food apps. There are many apps designed specifically for food enthusiasts and travelers. Apps like Yelp, Open Table Zomato, or even BB Experiences can help you discover restaurants, reviews, make reservations, or even dine with some locals. One of my favorite ways to do it, but one of the ways that take the most of the time is the local food forums. Join online forums or communities related to the destination you plan to visit. Ask for restaurant accommodations, and local food tips from fellow travelers or residents who are passionate about food. The problem with the forums is usually time for people to answer when you open a thread. When you open discussion, it may take weeks to have a complete answer is going to be a fantastic answer, but it's going to take time. If you want something more instant, then we go up again into either the online reviews where you can have some questions or the social media influences. Our next way is food and travel. Tv shows, watch food and travel programs like the Anthony Burden parts are known or non reservation to gain inspiration and insights into food destinations and local eateries. Obviously nowadays we also have Youtube where it's impossible with the amount of programs that exist not to find something that is totally tailor made in your needs or your preferences. Now we'll continue with guide books and magazines. Culinary magazines and food focused guidebooks like the Michelin guides and Zakat are excellent resources for exploring high quality dining options. Very similarly, we have the online food and travel publications. Explore online food and travel publications such as the Eater, Lonely Planet Food Section and National Geographic Food Journeys for in depth articles and accommodations. And last but obviously not least, probably the most influential of all and the most important of all word of mouth. Don't underestimate the power of personal recommendations. Ask friends, family, and acquaintances who have visited destinations for their dining. Suggestions and insights, please. As I mentioned in the chapter above, you can always share with us in the common section or in the discussion section. Which one of these methods are you using? As always, thank you for watching. 7. How to identify authentic food experiences: Hello. Now we are going to examine how to identify authentic food experiences. Identifying authentic food experiences by traveling requires a dissenting approach. Look for eateries frequent by locals rather than tourist hotspots. As we mentioned above, that's not always the rule, as nowadays, more and more cities are becoming tourist hotspots. Obviously some places in the center are going to be full with locals and tourists. A tourist hot spot doesn't always mean that is not quality or authentic eatery. Now we're going to continue with street food vendors that often offer genuine regional flavors. Don't shy away from holding the ball establishments, they often house, hide culinary gems. Seek out restaurants that emphasize traditional cooking methods and locally sourced ingredients, as these tend to provide a more authentic taste of the region's cuisine. Engaging with the locals and asking them for accommodations can lead you to less nb authentic dining options. But obviously always depending on their personal opinion. Ultimately, an authentic food experience is often characterized by a genuine connection to the culture, history, and traditions of the place. Embrace opportunities to explore the roots of the cuisine. As we always do, we have our introductionary paragraph, and now we're going to mention some examples. In order to make everything more clear, we are going to start how to identify authentic food experiences with local petronads. Look for restaurants, eateries frequent by locals. A crowded eatery with many native customers often indicates authenticity as locals know where to find the best food. Obviously that's not the rule. Some cases, some people doesn't have the same taste with you, maybe you don't like the places where the locals tend to go, or unfortunately nowadays some people may choose with a criteria of price. Maybe you find a place full of locals and is not going to be as authentic as you think, but it is going to be the choice of the locals because of their prices. But obviously, that's not the rule we will continue with. Our second example is the family run businesses. Family owned and operated restaurants, especially those that have been in business for generations, tend to present additional recipes and culinary techniques offering authentic experiences. This is probably my favorite and probably the most time resistant example I can offer you. Because you know by fact that it is a restaurant that is run by many generations. They declared that they use the same recipes, that this recipe is an authentic one. In many cases, it became a case of pride of the family who ran the business. They try their best. As we mentioned in our introduction, a very good choice is also the hole in the wall places often small and assuming establishments of the Biden Path serve the most genuine and delicious food, explore these hidden gems for a taste of authentic cuisine. Nowadays, in the time of Tiktokstagram, those places are becoming more and more popular, but there's still some hog in the world. Places that they're hardcore and exclusive and treasures that waiting for you to discover. Only if you are very persistent, we will continue with probably the trendiest of all nowadays, the street food stalls. Street food vendors can be a treasure trove of authentic local flavors. Check Hye standard obviously. And follow check hygiene standards obviously. And follow the crowds to popular stores known for the quality and taste. Now we're going to continue with the regional specialities Seek out for this is ingredients that are specific to the region. A local specialty, like the gumbo in the New Orleans or the Putin in Quebec, can be a strong indicator of authenticity. Obviously, the examples are counts. If you are in UK, you will want to try to separate pie or fish and chips. If you are in Greece, you want to try to black. If you are in Italy, pasta and pizza. If you are in Spain, you will want to try countless different plates as each region has their own. But the most famous of all obviously is in France. And as we mentioned in the examples above, the cheese sparing with wine obviously mention more European. But Examples. But obviously this global thing. If you go to Mexico, one of the most famous cuisine in the planet Fan, China, Southeast Asia. Vietnam now is becoming very trendy Philippines, All Africa area of the planet. Regional specialities region of its country. It's tiny, tiny place, can have regional specialities. I highly, highly recommend you try to seek for dishes and ingredients that are specific to that region. Now we are going to continue with culinary traditions. Restaurants that uphold and celebrate culinary traditions through the menus, preparation, methods, and decor are more likely to offer authentic experiences. I'm going to mention a personal example in Madrid. There is the oldest restaurant in the world. There is a restaurant that is continuously working hundreds of years. They claim that they have the same recipes from the day they open. Obviously, if you choose a restaurant like that, you know that the levels of authenticity are high and as close to the recipes of the past as possible. Our next one is the non English menus dining establishment with the menus primarily in the local language or within minimal English translation, often cater to the locals and can provide a more authentic experience. Obviously that, again the road nowadays, the restaurants can offer you a QR code where the menu is going to be translated in almost all languages of the tourists that visit This area is not the rule, but is connected with above examples where something is still chosen by the local, doesn't have the need to do promotions in different languages. You can argue that is more authentic is not a very strong indicator. Don't go out and try to find menus that are on in the native language, but especially some years ago, that was strong indicator. If you were in establishment where the menu was in the local language, that means that tourists haven't discovered yet. We'll continue with one of the easiest one. But in the same time, one of the most difficult for people to do is to ask for accommodations. Engages with the locals or fellow travelers and ask them for food recommendations. They can point you towards hidden gems that may not be widely known to tourists. The next one is something that I know personally as I used to perform and is foot tours with locals. Consider participating in foot tours led by local guides who have an intimate knowledge of the cuisine and they can take you to the authentic establishments. Here we have the phenomenon where, as I said, I used to offer food tours in Madrid. I notice the phenomena were indeed some food tourist guys discover some truly hidden gems. They saw it in the tours. Those hidden became very, very popular and became very touristic. The tourists didn't want to go to the establishments even if they were truly hardcore local traditional places because the latest tourists fill them a tourist traps. We have these weird details here. For some reason tourist doesn't want to be in places with other tourists. They don't embrace the fact that they are tourists in a destination as they should do. They only want the real true, authentic experience when they don't want to meet any other tourists. And if they see other tourists, even if they are tourists, they consider it as a fact that this place has lost character. Last but not least, cultural and historical significance, resonance with historical or cultural significance. The restaurant I mentioned above, the one that is the oldest in Madrid, in that case, is called boy, this restaurants, restaurants that are located historic buildings or tied to local customs are more likely to offer authic experience. Please, I'm going to repeat myself. If you have a personal example or if you have an example that sad to you by your friends or relatives, you can share it with us in the discussion section or in the comments as always. Thank you for watching. 8. How to communicate with locals about food: Hello, now we're going to see how to communicate with locals about food effectively. Communicating with locals about food is a wonderful way to delve into the cultus coronary treasures. Start by learning a few basic phrases in the local language to express your interest and appreciation about the cuisine. Non verbal cues, like pointing the dies on menus, or even using gestures, can also be helpful. Engaged in conversations with genuine curiosity. Asking questions about the ingredients, methods, and even personal food recommendations. As we mentioned above, setting your own food experience and showing enthusiasm for trying local dishes can foster a sense of connection, to be respectful of the culinary traditions and open to trying new flavors. As this approach can lead to meaningful culinary change and delightful discoveries. As we mentioned in the paragraph above, learning basic phrases is one of the basics. Familiarize yourself with a few essential food related phrases in the local language, such as, please thank you, delicious. This effort can go a long way by showing respect and interest. Furthermore, as we also mentioned, you can use gestures if language bodies exist, use gestures to convey your preferences or ask questions about the menu. For example, miming the action of eating, pointing and this on a menu can be helpful. Now let's see about food vocabulary prior to your trip. Learn the names of common local theses, ingredients, and culinary terms. Being able to recognize and pronounce them can aid discussions about food. Furthermore, you can also show express interest by showing genuine enthusiasm and curiosity about the local cuisine. Compliment the food, ask about the preparation, and expressed interest, as we said, in trying new flavors. Another thing you can do, if it is possible, is taste testing. If it's possible, as we said, request a sample or taste of a particular dish to ensure it meets your preferences before ordering a full serving. Here we need to mention and to address the thing about the foot allergies and restrictions. If you have any foot allergy restrictions, you and you need to clearly communicate any dietary restrictions or ages, you have to ensure that your food is prepared safely and according to your needs. Last but not least, you can engage in conversation. Strike up conversations with locals in markets, street food stalls, or restaurants. Inquire about the history, traditions, and stories behind the dies you're enjoying. By applying these communication strategies, you can engage with locals about food in a meaningful and respectful manner. And changing your culinary experiences and deepening your cultural connections while traveling. I will repeat myself. While exploring local cuisine, opt for restaurants and vendors with visible, clean food preparation areas. Verify that food is cooked thoroughly and saved the appropriate temperature. Be cautious when consuming raw or undercooked dishes. Particularly regions where sanitation standards may vary, it's essential to stay hydrated with bottled water and to avoid ice cubes made by tap water. In some destinations, carry hand sanitizers or wet wipes. For situations where hand washing facilities are limited by prioritizing food safety and hygiene while indulging in coronary adventures, you can savor the flavors of destinations without compromising your health When engaging in food tourism. Ensuring food safety and hygiene is paramount. As we already mentioned, memorable and healthy experience. For instance, in street food markets, look for vendors who maintain clean cooking surface and handle food with gloves or utensils in tropical destinations. As we already mentioned above, be cautious about consuming seafood to avoid food poisoning and always opt for well cooked options. Check the freshness of ingredients such as the fruits and vegetables, and consider peeling or washing them with purified water when in doubt. Additionally choose restaurants with good reviews or recommendations from tested sources to minimize the risk of food borne illness. By applying these precautions, you can savor your local flavors while safeguarding your well being during your food centric travels. As I always say, if you have any of your own personal tips, set it without in a comment section or in the discussion section. And as always, thank you for watching. 10. How to create a budget for your trip: Hello, now we're going to see how we can create a budget for our culinary trip. Creating a budget for our culinary trip is essential to make the most of our food adventure. Without overspending, We're going to start with the need to reset our destination food scene, including the cost of dining in various restaurants and street food vendors. We need to determine how many meals we are going to plan to eat, stay and allocate a budget for each meals necessary. Not to forget to factor all the other food related expenses like cooking classes, food tours, and obviously souvenirs. We need to be realistic about our spending limits and consider using budgeting apps or spreadsheets to keep track of our experiences while traveling. Setting a budget is going to help us savor the local cuisine without breaking the bank, ensuring a memorable culinary experience. Now we are going to see some examples of how we can do that in practice. Obviously, the first and the most basic and the most important of all is we need to reset dining cost. We have to look up of average prices of meals at restaurants in our destination to consider the price range from high end dining to budget friendly options. Secondly, we need to have a daily meal allowance. We need to decide how many meals are, we're going to plan to have it stay, and allocate a specific budget for each meal. For example, we may budget more for a specific dinner and less for breakfast or lunch. Now another thing that we have to be very careful is not to forget to include drinks and snacks. Remember to account for beverages, snacks, and street food. The more expenses can add up over the course of our trip. Now obviously, as we mentioned above, it is very important to have some coordinary experiences. We need to create another budget for special culinary experiences. If we are planning to take cooking classes, food tours, or to attend to food festivals, we need to allocate a separate budget for these experiences. Obviously, another thing that is in all the destinations and in all kind of traveling, we need to consider about transportation. Considering transportation costs to and from our dining locations. If we are traveling a lot inside the city, we need to budget for taxes, public transport, or right shares. Obviously, another cost we need to take to consideration is the currency exchange. We need to be aware of currency exchange rates and fees. And if we are traveling internationally, if we are traveling internationally, this can affect our overall food budget and in general, our overall budget of our trip. Now the next one, it depends totally about the area. It depends about the customs fees, place and tipping, and taxes we need to find before we travel. If tipping is customary in our destination, we need to budget it accordingly. Additional factor if there are any taxes that may add to our restaurant bills. Also there are some secret taxes. Like for example, if you want to eat outside of the restaurant, maybe there is a two to 10% add price. For example, if we want to eat in a nice terrace, or this is happening in Europe. I haven't seen that outside of Europe, but usually there's a different price. If you take away something, then dine in, you need to check all these things. Now we will continue with a contingency found. It is wise to set aside a small contingency found for unexpected discovery or must try. This is that you didn't plan for. Obviously, you need to prioritize your experiences. If there are some specific restaurants or food items that we absolutely want to try, we need to prioritize them in our budget and adjust other meal allowances accordingly. Now that we are talking, the budgeting tools are becoming very, very popular. Consider using budgeting apps or spreadsheets to help you track your expenses in the real time during your trip. This can help you stay on top of your spending. Me personally, I use the old school Excel spreadsheets, but obviously there are amazing apps I have left behind. But in general, I always try to keep in track. Obviously, you may have all the apps of the word and all the spaces, but what you need to do is to review and adjust. Periodically review your budget while you're in a culinary trip to make sure that you're staying within your limits. Adjust as needed to accommodate any changes in your plans. We mentioned that above, but obviously we have to consider about souvenirs. If you plan to purchase culinary souvenirs like local spices, cooking utensils, or food products, allocate a separate budget for these items. And remember that creating a budget for your culinary trip not only helps you manage your finances, but also allows you to fully enjoy the diverse and delicious cuisine of your destinations while staying within your means. I'm going to repeat myself. If you have any personal tips, please share them with us. And as always, thank you for watching. 11. How to choose the right restaurants and food experiences: Hello, now we're going to see how we're going to select the perfect restaurant for our food experiences when we arrive to our destination. Obviously, first we saw how we are going to do our budget. Now we are in our destination, we have our budget. Let's select the perfect restaurant for us. Selecting the perfect restaurant and food experiences for our food tour requires a thoughtful approach. We need to start by considering our culinary interests and the local specialities of our destination. For instance, if we are in Italy, we have to prioritize Trattoria for sending pasta diss like carbonara or visit the pizzeria in Naples for the classic margarita pizza. We need to balance our choice by mixing popular tourist spots with hidden gems, not only to locals. We need to seek recommendation from food blogs, travel forums, or social media and ask for suggestions from our accommodation host. We need not to forget to explore unique food experiences, like taking a sushi making class in Japan by enjoying a seafood feast in the beach of Thailand. By combining tourist resets recommendations and the sense of adventure, we are going to craft a foot tour that satisfies both our cravings and culinary curiosity. Now here I need to mention that I said in this paragraph above that if you are in Italy, you need to prioritize Tratoris. This is the general rule. Obviously each person is unique. If you are more sweet tooth, obviously you don't have to prioritize Italy. You can create your own itinerary where you are going to visit all the local sweet shops and bakeries during the day just to survive. You can eat sandwiches or even to visit fast food chain. I have seen that I have seen people that travel very long distances. For example, they came from United States to Europe and they did a tour of the Iberian Peninsula. They went first to Portugal and then to Spain. The absolute focus to try as many spits as possible during the day. They were eating from the buffet of the hotel, or they were trying to eat sandwiches, or even they were visiting Mcdonald's because the remain goal was to eat as many sweets as possible. I'm not saying that from a health perspective, I'm saying that from the perspective that these people have a very specific goal and they wanted to go to all the famous pastry shops. And they have done the research. The perfect restaurants for them weren't actually restaurants. The perfect eating places for them were all the local bakeries and additional places were making amazing sweet. Some years ago I saw a TV show that was a guy who was traveling around Europe and were eating outside stadiums. The street food outside of football stadiums. As you can imagine, the perfect choices for the food experiences were street food. It's up to you, but don't feel the pressure. As I mentioned that if you're in Italy, you need to eat carbonara. It's up to you. I just mentioned the general rule of these cases. If you have any example that you did something similar, you visit, for example, France. Instead of the typical food of France, you try something else. Or if you visit London in order to go to the chinatown of London and try Oriental food. Or if you visit a very famous place that it was very famous for a very specific food and you didn't try it and you try something that you actually like, Please set it with us. I told you in general how to select your perfect restaurant, but I should rephrase and say you should select the perfect choice according to your taste. As always, thank you for watching. 12. How to be respectful of local culture and customs: Hello, now we're going to see how to respect local culture and the customs. Respecting local cultures and customs during a food tour is essential for a positive and enriching experience. We need to start by learning about the dining ethic, the customs of the destinations we're going to visit. For instance, in Japan, it is customary to say itadakimasu before the meal and kosisuma the sita afterwards. To express gratitude, dress appropriately for the local culture and specific dining venues. For example, Deslin may be required in some places. Always ask for permission before taking photos, especially if it involves people. Be open to try new foods, even if they are unfamiliar to your taste. And avoid wasting food as a sign of respect for the efforts that they went into its preparation. Finally, engage with locals, ask questions and show appreciation for the culinary additions. By being meaningful of these cultural nuances, you will not only enjoy the food, but also forge meaningful connections and leave a positive impression to the local community. As always, thank you for watching. 13. How to take great food photos: Hello. In the chapter above about respected local culture, we mentioned about, you always need to ask permission before you are going to take a photo. Now we are going to talk about how to capture the perfect food photos. Capturing grade food photos is an art and that can enchange you culinary experience and set them with the others. Start by finding good natural light, whether it's by window, outdoors, or in a well light restaurant. Pay attention to composition by using the rule of thirds, Arranging the S attractively and considering the background. Experiment with different angles to showcase the foot textures and details overhead. Sods work well with flat dishes like pizza, while a 45 degree ankle can highlight height and depth. Use props like utensils, napkins, or ingredients to add context to the story of your photos. Adjust your camera or smartphone settings, such as focus and exposure to ensure clarity. And avoid using Flash, which can create hard shadows. Editing tools and apps like Instagram filters can enchange colors and contrast, but don't overdo it. Strive for a natural look. Finally, practice patients and take multiple shots to choose the best one. With practice and attention to these details, you will capture mouthwatering food photos that truly convey the essence of your culinary experiences. As I mentioned in a different chapter, this is one of my soft spots. I'm writing countless of reviews in Google and I'm taking thousands of photos. I have add more than 7,000 photos to the Google Maps, The majority of them are food. In the beginning, I have no idea. But seriously and honestly, I learned just by experience how to take photos. Now I have some food photos with almost half 1 million views. I'm very proud of them. As I mentioned, this is one of my soft spots. If you are doing the same, let me know and as always, thank you for watching. 14. How to support sustainable food tourism: Hello, now we're going to talk about sustainable food tourism.
