2. Revealed !: Hey there, thank you for
enrolling into the class. And in this class
will know about it. Powerful midi Plugin. These Plugin will definitely
change your Workflow. And you'll work with chords
and chord progressions with ease and it'll definitely make good progress and making those. So yeah, let's get started
first by revealing the Plugin. It is rip card by tract bout. This is a game changer
and powerful midi Plugin, which will definitely
make your work easy in making
Chord Progressions. I know a lot of people,
nobody is Plugin, and a lot of people
don't know what is Plugin, but guess what? I have a lot of hacks
and tips and tricks for you guys to get the most out of it and be comfortable
with using this plugin. So let's die when
without wasting any time on how to install
the rip cord by tripod. Okay. First we have to go to the official
website or Stripe Bow. This is track but.com, rip card rehab to download
the plug-in or here, it's mostly a seven MB is. After downloading, go to the location of the file
where it's downloaded. So after downloading the file, we have to extract it. Whether you are using Mac or whether you are
using Windows. Eight works for both Mac users. You can read the installation
process over here, and you can follow up with that. So I'll extract in my
personal location. Once it is done, open the fire. And you have the
instructions over here. And I'll have you can
import the presets, which I'll explain in
the later classes. First of all, we have to go to the Windows folder or here.
Then we have two more. This file to Program Files, Common Files, Vst tree. Remember this is only for 64-bit bit Plugin has not been announced yet
by the official site. So it works with a 64
bit PCs for Windows. So you had to do is just
copy or cut and paste in common C Program
Files. Common Files. And we used to treat.
And I have done here. After that, open your door. I'm using Fl Studio 20. You can use any door and
you can find have to open rip cord Plugin
and you know, various sites or
YouTube tutorials. So if you are in fact 20, it is easy for you to
follow up with me. So I have to do is just go to Manage Plug-Ins and
find more Plug-Ins. So I've already
installed rape Chord. So as you can see, the Plugin or here, Let's see if it's
going to work or not. So the Plugin is for again. Next class, we'll know how to use this powerful midi Plugin
3. Execution in FL Studio: Let's see how this Plugin Works. Opened an instance of record. So you're not a single sound. We can't hear any
sound actually. And you won't have
any bruises or here. So all had to do is just go
to the Settings option over here and press Import
a preset file. So what installing the Plugin, you'll get a zip file. In that zip file, you
will find the presets. So I'll go to the location
where the presets are. These are the presets. And you can control a to select all and
just click on Open. You will find plenty of basic presets
provided by rip cord. Okay, So you're
not getting any of the sound towards the next step. In order to listen to any of the Chords and
Chord Progressions, you have to map this Plugin
asset input to the Plugin, which in this case
is an instrument. So I'm opening an
instance of piano. We to buy Altria. And I like this Plugin
a lot and I use it a lot and my productions. So I'll just go and
pick this Plugin. This project is cool. I'll just go and Julie to a
mixed track and add a reward. I like this a lot. So this is one of my preset.
Let's see how this sounds. Sounds amazing. So after routing
your Instrument, your mixer track and
adding a fixed on that, just go to rip Chords. You can find the
setting option here, that this option
Vst rapid Settings. And here in the midi option, all you had to do is just
give an output port number. In this case, zero is given as output
port for the rip cord. And similarly, you have
to open the other Plugin, alright, Instrument which
you want, rip Chords, *** and midi input, and this will be our output. So you have to go
to the same setting and go to the input boy cereal. It's worth mentioning
that the numbers must definitely match
or else it won't work. So after this, you
have to close instance of piano or whatever the
Instrument you have. Now open the rib car, and now it's Magic. So this is how you use rip card. But there's a lot
of Settings we have to tweak and explore, which we'll do in
a frozen glasses
4. Exploration & Velocity Settings: Okay, now let's explore
the Plugin re-record. But tripod has a
user-friendly interface with which you can fork what Chord
Progressions with ease. This is really a
powerful midi Plugin. In my opinion. To all here. You will find the favorites, the Settings, and
the pipers Button. So this is the output
keyboard layout, and this is the input
keyword layout. Here. Two switches,
one switch for edit. And once we should play. This area is entirely
dedicated for the presets, actually, which you can find by clicking
the presets Button. And you will find the presets
which you have inputted. Let's go through each
option one-by-one and explore what it does. First off, this is
a favorite button, which you can favorite
your preset and you can get back to
that if you want. So in order to do that, all you had to do is just
click this and the major keys. A is your favorites. Now, you can see the
star mark boy here. Also. You can favorite different presets in
the preset menu itself. So next easiest Settings menu. Here you'll find
different options regarding importing
and exporting files. This is the Bypass button. So if I play a note, if I bypass it, it won't play the cut. If you want to play your cut. Just go ahead own. And you can play the Chords. Next is the Record button, which I'll explain in the
later section of this class. But we'll first
focus on these two. So this area or here is entirely dedicated in
manipulation of velocities. At this here is dedicated
entirely for Strumming's. So let's go ahead and explore how the Velocity
works. And here. So as you can find a series of circles
here and here itself, what it does is it randomizes
the direction of velocity, which here is left-to-right,
right-to-left. And for the both directions. Let's see how it
performs in the contest. So yeah, if I play a key, it plays a regular key. However, if I use the
Velocity novel here, and now this is
going left to right, which is, you can find friends. If I turn this down. See, if I change the
setting over here. You'll find your hearing
more high frequencies. And what if I do both? First, you'll hear the low frequencies which are dominant. Next you'll hear the high
frequencies which are dominant. So let's take a
look on how you can check whether the velocities
are working or not. So I'll take the exact instance of the piano here. As you can see this working. So here Record button. And here there's an
option which you can drag and drop to your
favorite instruments. Here in this case, let's
play different keys. Now, if you want to extract
the media of these keys, you can recall first an up-to-date, we have
to click it again. And now there's a range of midi. So all you had to do
is just left-click and drag and drop into your
favorite Instrument. Now you can see
the media has been dropped in to the Instrument. Now if you wanted to
play, it will play. So if I open the piano roll, you can see the
velocities are here. So here, the a node here
has the lowest Velocity. Here in the B has the
highest velocity. Similarly, all the
Chord Progressions has different velocities because we have activated the
Velocity knob here. Now let's see how the
randomization works. If I treat the
randomization Button up, this is the full potential. You can just mess around and set it according to your taste. So I'll set around here. And when I play, the same key, Sounds different when I
play it multiple times. C. So it, and Di Li Making the same chord sounds different by randomly
changing the velocities. So let's see how this
works in the context. So I just click the
Record button over here and I'll play
the first node. How to do is just drag and drop. So you can see that the
velocities are here, are randomly changed. Here. E has the lowest Velocity and
a has the highest velocity. Similarly, for everything, you'll find randomized
velocities. So this is how
randomization in velocities for these three options
are only four velocities. In the next lesson, we'll
learn how Strumming's work
5. Strumming's More Fun Now: Now let's take a look at
Strumming's option over here. So whatever you do, it's trumps the keys. It's just the number
Chord. Now when you move this up a little bit, you'll find the Chords
are getting strummed. This option over here, it says multiple Strumming's. So the higher the
more Strumming's, the lower the less roaming. And you can also strum
with the direction. Here. It is left to right here. Now this is right to left. So you can do it both
actually by clicking again, which shows
left-to-right direction, right to left direction. So now let's play God. As you can hear, the
Strumming's is kinda low. Let's increase the amount. Now you can hear
the Strumming's is happening from left to right. And then right-to-left only
by playing a single key. And it's not that
special to be hard as to what's special about
the third feature, or here is randomization
or Strumming's. So what it does is it randomizes the Strumming's
time actually. So you want here now, the same pattern of
Strumming's for the Chords. You will instead listen
to the randomization. Lets see that in the context. So when I increase the amount
of randomization or here, I know it definitely find
hard to tell a difference. So what I'll do is I'll
just record the same Chord and drop those midi into
the instruments so that you can see the manipulation
that's going on. Stop the recording
and it's recorded. Now take the piano. Now you can see that Strumming's
is happening randomly. You can also mess around with
the Strumming's option over here and Velocity
option simultaneously, Duke at the most out
of those Plugin. And the cards will definitely sound more natural
and human-like, rather than sounding
like a robot. So we'll take a look at
how this will sound. So I'll increase the
velocity option here, and I'll increase the
randomization at a little bit. Analogist play a couple of keys. So this is about
this timing option. And the velocity and the Strumming's options
both simultaneously
6. Transposing the Chords: So now let's explore
the final option here, which is transposing the cuts. What it does is really
amazing and it's a quite powerful way to get new ideas and to get
inspired with it. But these options, you will
definitely be more creative and you'll definitely find the right key you
are looking for. And it makes you easier to write Music
in more comfortable, easy yet powerful way. Let's see that in the context. So when I hit this button, guilty to octave spot
and purple color. And the red key over here represent the keys
that you're playing. So it does make sense when
I go into the practicals. So here we are playing C major scale and only
playing the major keys. So when I had the P, which is C, C major, is showing over here, right? So when I just want to go up, two semitones, have to do is
just go to semitones, 1.2. Remember, the red key here represent the keys
that you're playing. If you're playing, see, it represents see if you're
playing D at present state. So according to that, you have to adjust
whether to transpose your keys are caught
up or down the octave. So I just wanted to
go do semitones up. So I'll first deselect the key to let you
understand the process. So yeah, this is the empty. I didn't say anything over here. So this is just to see major T. And now I just want to go to semitones up, which is 1.2. Now you can see the
Chords changing. But only playing the similar. See, it bought two semitones up. So in this way you
can have unlimited possible Waves to create
different kinds of cards. So if this is confusing for you, can also make these
two octaves match up with the current octave
of keys that you're playing. What I mean by that
is you can choose these two octaves to match up with the current
update that your plane. So I'll just do that. Now as you can see, this octave or here
match up with this. I mean this, the CQI over
here matches with the CTE. So if you want to go down to the see, all
the I would select. And now you'll go
one octave down. See if I deselect it. So according to which
key you're playing, you can transpose the
keys as you wish. Again, there are multiple
ways you can create. Only using a single card. With just one Chord. You can just create a
multiple Chords or here, and you can record and
drag it to the Instrument. So there are unlimited
possibilities for you to create and explore a wide range of gods and create a beautiful
sound and Chord Progressions. So another key thing in rip
cord is as you can play multiple keys at the same time
to create polyphonic cuts. What I mean by that
is you can play multiple keys and you can
come up with a single cut. So this will definitely open another door to explore
wide variety of Chords. And dual definitely will create a great sounding
chord progressions. That's it for this class. We'll explore the
edit section over here and the Settings
section at the next class.
7. Edit Mode: MIDI Programming: Let's explore what
the edit Mode is. So you can switch by clicking. And first you will see that, that these are turned
green in color. Now you can program every key in these and die keyboard
to how this work. Is your program a key? In this case, just want
to program this key, which is C. And
when I hit the sea, you'll also program it to
play low octave of C major. So you can click which
you want to program. And after that, all
you have to do is just click this button. And when you go to the play
mode and hit that key, you play that card. So you can program multiple keys which
aren't colored by green. So you can click this key, and of course you can move. You can also move
the entire layout, the left or right, depending upon your
ease of playing. In midi keyboard or a
normal mechanical keyboard, you can also assign this to
the white key or a black key. In this case, if I want to make everything in white app to hit this button and
everything set in a place where key is then white. So this has nothing to do with the programming of the Chords. So if I want to make this diode to only play
when I hit the black keys. All you had to do is just go here and just click this button. So the entire layout is
turn into black keys. So when I play a black key, it only plays and it doesn't
play when I hit Hawaii. The white cane, it only
plays at plane note. So you can change or you can modify the
preset if you want. Or you can go here and
create a new preset. You can name the preset. Let's say I just want
to create an R&B card. So I'll just go here and create
and name this preset RMB. And I just wanted to
create a C major. All I do is just go to here by inputting the key,
input and output. So I'll input C to
output C major chord. I know this is a C Major nine, so I'll name this Chord
as well to C major nine. Said, I will know that I'm
playing a C Major nine. You can't play over here
because this is in edit mode. We have to switch back to
the play Mode to play. So when I hit this key, it plays a C Major nine. So you can create
different kinds of cards. We can program the Chords. And also you can
create an OH, preset. Now let's see what else is available in the
Settings section. So in this section, you'll find whether to switch
and the dark or light one. I particularly liked
the light More much because it gives
me more details. You can also reset the size. This is a start a new preset
which we already discussed. This is a duplicate
current preset. So here you can duplicate
a current preset. Here you can import a midi file. All you had to do is
just click on that and important midi
file if you have, and the Chords which are in
the midi will be layout. Or here. You can export the current midi to
wherever you want. And you can import
a preset file. You can export preset file. You can import MP3 file as well. So this is about rip cord. And in the next class, I'll share the sum of
the secrets and some of the tricks to get the most
out, out of the rib card.
8. A Short Quick Tip: So here in every preset, multiple cards programmed
into a single piano layout. So you find various courts play different keys to
play two or more cuts. This makes us easier to create multiple harmonic
caught Progressions
9. Tips & Tricks: Now let's talk about
the depths and Tricks. So the first thing is when you are performing for a live show, you how to play the keyboard. You just go here and
start a new preset. And pretty much
Program your own. Let's say if I want to
program a key with a Chord of the song that you
don't know how to play by the apoptosis program. That's it. So you can just go along with the
song displaying two keys. Or if you want to
give more human fear, guess go with the options. You can play that
the entire sun. That's the trick number one, you can display, even if you don't know how to play keyboard. In order to do that, you
have to be conscious about which song is playing
and the College of the song. So that's the trick number one. So another one is, so you can find the favorites over here in the present manner. As I already told
you that you can also favorite your presets. You can go and
collect a favorites, but no here to find all the
favorites that you had. And it doesn't stop
there actually. You can also create a tag. Let's say I just
wanted to create tag call major. Create a tag. And with this tag, you can assign multiple
major presets, measure called presets
to the single deck. So how can I do that? To make it more easier? I'll only select the
Magic please because we have named attacked major. So in order to do that, all you have to do is just
go to this thick button, click and click on major tag. Now, select only the major. Are the DAG, which you want to select and put
it onto a separate die. So when I click on major, all I see is only a major keys. So you can create a
multiple tags also. And it makes us much easier to find the Chords that
we're looking for. So these are the two tips
and tricks that I have. I hope it helps. I'll meet you in the next
less until then. Goodbye
