1. Course Trailer: Hey folks, my name is Joseph and in this video course, I am going to teach you how to catch your first ONE. Fish. Fishing isn't just a very thrilling free time experience. It is also great basic knowledge which I think gets lost. And nowadays fast moving and efficient world. Catching your own food from the freshwater, clean it and cook it is a very pleasant and exciting process which will give you more gratitude for the meat on your plate. With my course, you'll get all the necessary knowledge in a compact way and learn how to use the fishing gear, tie knots, cast a raphe, and basically everything important when it comes to fishing. So this course is only to give you the basic knowledge of modern spin fishing, which can be pretty hard to find in a comprehensible compact way at YouTube or books. So see you in the course.
2. Let me introduce myself: So let's come firstly to my person. I started fishing with the age of six when my aunt brought me to a small pond where we caught the first crowds. And that was the moment where I started my passion. Therefore, in the last 15 or 16 years that I've fished, again, much experience and knowledge in this whole topic, which is why I want to give it to you and show you what is like important to catch your first on fish. So what kind of rot you need, what kind of real you need, and what kind of baits do we look for? And where do we find the fish? So how do we read the water? How do we clean the fish? And yeah, the whole process about catching a fish. After my school, I went to Sweden and work there as a fishing guide and went with tourists from all over the world on the water and showed them how to fish. I also worked in Berlin fishing startup called Hexagon Bosh, where I've gained my first experience in front of the camera as a fishing entertainer and had my first on serious browser versus goal yet, you can, if you want, check it out on YouTube. It's some years ago, but I guess you will probably recognize me.
3. Nature lessons: Thank you very much for purchasing the course. Now let's come to the structure of this course. In the first part, we'll cover a bit more than theoretical parts. So what do we have to look for? What kind of licenses to need? How do we act with nature? And like a bit about the fish biology. After that, we will come to the more practical parts where I will show you what kind of baits, rigs, reads and rots you need to get successful on the water. After that, we will just try to not on the rigs. And I will show you how you finally with the final equipment, can cast the rods, can read the water and find the fish. So the first part is how do we act with nature? As fishermen? We have kind of a responsibility to act with the nature sustainable and that we don't leave any materials in the nature that are not biodegradable. So for example, if we cut our fishing line when we want to not a new rig or something like that, we do not leave any of that fishing line behind because, for example, PAE line or braided line needs up to 600 years to completely composed. So we just tried to leave biodegradable stuff in the nature which won't harm any animals. And this is kind of an important point to me because especially during the COVID pandemic, you could tell that like more and more people start fishing as a free time activity because it is very good. You are like by yourself and the outside of the fresh air and everything like that. But coming with that, also all the waters, the rivers, the lakes got more and more crowded with new fishermen, which don't really know how to treat the nature and how to act in nature. So please always when you go to the water and fish, tried to take everything back home that you brought there. And because we really don't want to harm the nature and we want to catch like healthy fish and even 100 or 200 years. Furthermore, I want to tell you that studies have shown that especially the big fish in a lake or a river are very important for the reproduce moment of the whole fish and the whole ecosystem in a lake, for example. So when you catch a big fish, I would really like to tell you that you should probably release it even though it has the most neat and maybe tastes the best or something like that. But the big fish mostly have very strong genes because they survived that long. Mostly like a pipe for example, which gets up to one meter, is about ten years old. So they have very strong genes, are very intelligent. That is why you should release them so they can pass those genes to their progeny.
4. Fish biology: When we want to successful catch the fish, we need to understand how the fish are built in a biological way. So fish are very sensitive and that is why we have to treat them with special care. The fish have so-called lateral line Oregon, which detects all the vibrations under water. That is also why when the water is very muddy, the fish can still feel the vibrations of our lower and find our lower and eat it. When we finally catch the fish, we also have to put a special attention on the mucosal and touch the fish only with water. And hence because of parasites. Because the mucosal of the fish is like kind of a small and thin part of the skin, which saves the fish from parasites. So if we just take the fish out of the water with our bare and dry hands, we're probably going to harm it and make it easier for parasites to affect the first body. Also, we have to keep in mind that especially when we catch smaller fish that we want to release afterwards because they don't have enough meat on it or because it's more sustainable that we don't keep the fish for a two long time outside of the water because the girls are very sensitive and the fish needs oxygen. So always try to not keep the fish out of the water for longer than a minute. For some kind of fish, we also have to check for like the teeth and the spikes of the fish. Because especially pike and perch, which you can catch in USA or also here in Germany. We are, we really have to watch for our hands because they have spikes on the fins and the teeth are very sharp. The last very important thing when it comes to the fish biology is the job position. So the fish can either have an upturned mouth or a superior mouth or an inferior moth. And that suggests, or let us know as anglers, where in which water area the fish eats. So if the fish has an inferior mouth, so the mouth and goes to the bottom of the fish. You know that the fishes probably eating food from the bottom and that is where we have to present our lower. Those kind of fish are mostly carbs, as you can see here. They have like the inferior mouth and they are probably eating some mat or some worms and snares from the ground. Other fish, like you can see here, bass or perch, they have, the upturned mouth is superior mouth, and which shows that they eat water from the middle water area or from the surface or from the water. So when we want to catch the perch or the best, we also have to take Bates, which we will fish at the surface of the water.
5. Fishing laws and restictions: So before you can take your knowledge to the water and try to catch your first first with the equipment you bought. We have to cover the legal side. So what exactly do you need to catch legal in your country? And that really depends on your country. For example, in Germany, as I've already said, you need three kind of documents. You also have to check whether your fish in a reservation area or in a naturalists safe area. Before we go to the water, we also have to check like when which fish is protected by the government because each species of fish its own like secured time zone in the year where they can reproduce and when it is for us anglers not allowed to catch them. So when you go to the water, always check, okay, I cannot catch the trout, for example, cause trout is saved till the mid of May or June. You also should check what kind of minimum and maximum sizes of the fish are in your country. For example, here in Germany, there are some waters where we have to release the pike that we caught, which is bigger than 75 centimeters. So we have kind of a a window with a maximum and a minimum size where we are allowed to take the fish home to cook it and eat it. And if the fish is smaller or bigger than this window of size, then we have to release it or it can reproduce. And I personally think that's a very good way to sustainable, efficient because each fish should have the chance to reproduce itself for at least one time. So always check before you go to the water. What kind of restrictions, what kind of minimum, maximum sizes do you have? Which fish are protected in the time zone where you are probably going to fish there, you should really take some investigation on that.
6. Finding the right fishing rod: So let's begin with the first practical part. So what kind of gear do you need to catch a fish? That really depends on the firsthand on what kind of fish you want to catch. Because the more light the fissures or the smaller the fishes, the more light you choose the rods to be. So for example, if I want to fish perch, which are like pretty small fish in comparison to other fish, I will more likely take a light rod like this one with the casting Wait till 10 gram because you differentiate the rot in terms of its casting weight. So each rod, like no matter where you are, has its perfect casting weight and with which you can cast the most or the forest out. So for example, this rod has a casting weight of 10 gram. So if I take bait which weights 10 gram, It's the optimum weight for this rod. This rod is a medium rot within casting weight up to 30 gram, which is probably, yeah, debates around ten to 15 centimeters. And this is in the most cases, the kind of rock which you, especially in freshwater or Sweetwater and we need to fish. And the last one is a heavy one. And as you can see, it also has a different kind of real because there's a bait cast real and this is a spin fishing reel. And this is a heavy wrought with which you can throw Bates up to 150 gram. So this is probably for bigger fish, especially for pike or catfish or something like that. I've also put some links in the document further down for you where you can find the and the best beginning or beginner fishing rods and reds. So good combinations for you to start fishing very basic, which is actually a rod with a casting weight around 20 to 30 gram. Because this is kind of the average weight which you will always fish when you fish for and for bass or for pike off or something. So you can just find it out in the documents further down. So just check it out. And yet, but I have to say that in this course we will mostly cover just fishing with the spin rots because casting with the bad cars rod like this one is a bit harder and more difficult. Furthermore, each rod has a different action. So for example, the light rod is really easy to bend. So the fish, when they have the bait, they have more like the rod bounces more and you will lose less fish. At the other hand, for example, the strong rod with the high throwing weight of 150 gram is way harder in its action. So when we have a fish on the rod itself bounces less. So we mostly take the hot rods for fish with a hard mouth and the light rods for fish with a light mouth. So perch or best, for example, normally have a very soft mouth. So you usually take a rod which like bounces more in its action. And you don't take a hot rod because when the hook as in the mouth, and the more the rod balances, the less fish you will lose at the end. And for pike fishing, for example, you're more likely take the hot rod with the heart action, which bounces less because the mouth of the pike is also very hard. So you also like, especially when you are a bit more advanced and fishing, tried to find or use the perfect rods also attached to the, to the, to the biology of your target fish.
7. Finding the right fishing reel: So the next topic I'd like to cover is about fishing reads. Generally we differentiate between two types of fishing reads. The normal, like the spin fishing reel, which looks like this, or the bait cast fishing reels, which are mostly used in the US. In my opinion, I really like to fish with a spin fishing reel. That is why I will show you a bit more what you have to look for and how you fish with them. So when we buy a spin fishing reel, we should always check whether it runs smoothly. So whether it gives us a nice feeling when we cast and whether all the functions work right? So when I pull the break to the left-hand side, the fish can pull more line out of our real. When I close the break and like put it in this direction, it is pretty hard for the fish to become any more aligned. So the break is like mostly used when we catch a big fish and we don't want that our thoughts or our line is under too much pressure. So then we activate our break so the fish can take some line and we take some pressure.
8. Fishing Lines 1: Monofilament Lines: So when it comes to the fishing lines, we mostly differentiate between two basic types of phishing types. The first one is the mono filament, which is like a fishing line out of plastic. And the second one is the braided line, which is fishing line made of like more smaller lines, which are just brought together to one main line. So when we choose our PAE line, which is also called the bread at line, we always check what kind of thickness and what kind of strength tests. So we differentiate therefore between the fabricated line, the red line, or six braided lines. So that means how many little lines are combined to our main line. So when we have eight red line, we know that it is made out of eight smaller lines. A six credit line is made out of six lines. And the monofilament line, which is mostly made out of like plastics, has also some very good advantages. So in the most cases, it is not that strong as the braided lines, but the monofilament line has the advantage that it is like close to invisible underwater, so it is way better to fish with it when we want to catch fish that like our hunting other fish with their eyes. So we can just take the monofilament line, which is way more invisible underwater, for example, this is a great example when we fish for perch. Perch are fish that mostly live in very clear water where they can see the smaller fish that they want to hunt. And that is why we try to fish vary invisible so the fish won't see that we use a bait with a hook and everything. So we just take the monofilament line. But when we tried to get, for example, caught or yeah, let's say Zander, which are like Mozi living or which we tried to catch in deeper water or Medea water or darker water. We can easily take the braided line, which at the one hand is better seen by the fish, but at the other hand has like the advantages of more strength and yeah, the whole like better resistance.
9. Fishing Lines 2: PE Braided Lines: But there are also two other factors that we have to mention. And we have to like, think of when we want to decide which line we choose. So in a monofilament or the braid plan, especially the monofilament line is very flexible. So we tried to always like adjust our line and the way that we want to catch the fish. So for example, when we want to catch a best, we also have to keep in mind that bears have a very soft mouth. So they don't have like a very hard mode like a pike. And that is why we will more likely take the stretchable monofilament line because when the bass with the soft mouth texts are obeyed and we give it a hook. Then we want to make sure that we don't pull our bait out of its soft mouth. More that the, that the monofilament line like stretches or takes out some pressure of our strike. But at the other hand, when we want to catch some pike, we will more likely to take the braided line because the braided line is way less stretchable. But for the pike MOD with this pretty hard, that's not that bad because we want to set our hook in the right way. Let us also why many pike fisherman use the braided line at their fishing reads. But when it comes to the last meter before the bait, they most likely take the monofilament line or the flu or Carbone. And no matter how you call it. And because you have the advantages of the braided line, which is less stretchable and also end the last meter of uric. The advantage of the monofilament line, which is more invisible to the fish. So you can just put those two advantages together. I will now show you what those sprayed at line and those monofilament lines look like. So as you can see here, I am in the most time fishing with a braided line. This one's eight graded line now, because I mostly try to catch, caught or Pike, which have a very hard mouth so I don't need really that stretchable and advantages of the monofilament line. So I can just put the monofilament line before my rig. As you can also see, the red line is way more visible. So because it is not out of plastic or another like invisible kinda material, the fish also can see it way better underwater. So now I am holding the monofilament line in my hands, which is like way more invisible. And this is also an effect that we have underwater even stronger because underwater the fish can't really see those plastic lines, which is also like pretty dangerous when we lose some line and leave it in the ocean because they can't really see it. But when we fish, it is pretty good because especially the fish hunting with their eyes, which really need to see what they hunt for, can't really see our line. And therefore, our B8 is a bit better. Like protected.
10. How to use the fishing gear: In the first part of how to use the fishing gear, I will show you how you prepare your tackle and gear at the water and what you have to look for. After that, I'll show you the three most important notes. So you can just start fishing very soon. The first thing we want to do is to screw our fishing reel on our rod. After that, we want to open the break a bit so we can pull the line to thread it through the rock rings. And the next step we will simply go through all the rings and try not to forget one and check that the line does not wrap itself around the room. At the end. Just don't forget to close the break because I sometimes forgot to close the break. And when you get a Biden the first car so you won't be able to set the HOG ride because there will be no pressure on the line. After our router setup, we want to focus on how we can connect our main line to our letter. No matter whether we want to finish with a hard plastic ladder, a soft plastic, a titan tips D letter or what other kind of letters we want to fish. So the first knot is about how to connect one line with the snap. This is a very easy not which you will need pretty often. So you better practice some time. We go through the hole and then wrap the line 8 times around our main line. After that, we go through the whole word that came into being when we did our first winding. And after that we go through the second hole that came into being after going through the first hole. That's it. Then this carefully pull the overcoming line and the main letter. The next not as when we want to do a loop that does not close itself under pressure. We need this not when we want to stay flexible and just hang out or a letter in the loop connected with the snap, for example. Therefore, we simply make a loop and then just, uh, not cut the overcoming line, and that's it. We can now easily connect it with a snap. The third one is also very important because here we want to connect our main line with another line. For example, a plastic line or fluorocarbon without using a snap or ring. So in this example, the black line shows the ladder and the red line as our main line. At first, we go through the loop and then wrap our line around the letter about eight times. And then go back and wrap it four to six times, just on top of the knot. After that, we will go through the hole we made in the beginning and try to go through the hole in the same direction as we came out in the beginning. Then just carefully pull the overcoming lines, use some spit so it can slide smooth. And that's it.
11. How to cast a fishing rod: The next topic is about how we actually costs are a rod, which is why I will now show you how we Custer brought in the right way and what kind of throw of stare. When we arrive at the fishing spot, we check at first where we want to present our bait. That also differentiates with the Loury want to fish because a wobbler, for example, is way lighter than the spinner and debt for it won't fly that far. So we have to check what our target spot is. Where we actually want to present our bed. Note here that the overall distance of our cast depends on how much our beta weights and what the target weight of our rotis, As I explained some lectures earlier about the rods. So when we fish a rod with an ideal casting weight between 16 to 28 gram, we should also use a base that has a weight and that area. So in that case, I would, for example, uses soft bed with a Jake had about 20 gram. And then we will be able to get the most distance out of our cast. When it comes to throwing, we have to do the following steps. At first, we place our hand, as you can see here, and grab with the tip of our forefinger, the line so that when we want to open, the real debate won't drop to the ground and we have the full control over the line. In the next step, we open the real. So we have the full control over the line. Now when it comes to the overhead row, we want to check whether we have some people or obstacles behind us. And then we slowly take power into the rod and cast it. Now, when the rod is between ten to 12 o'clock, we let the line go with our forefinger. Please try to cast with just a little power in the beginning, because then you can actually feel and realize the moment way better when you really have to release the line with your forefinger. Here you can see at once and real-time. And then in slow motion, the overhead throw is kinda the easiest costs you can make, because generally we have three options to throw the bait. And that are the overhead costs, the sideway cast and the underhand cast. You use the overhead cost as you've seen before, when you have obstacles to your left and right and enough space above your head to cast a broad. The sideways row, as you can see here, is perfect for when you have trees hanging above you, you won't be able to do the overhead throw because then we will catch the leaves and that is pretty annoying to get the best out of the tree. And the last cast is the underhand cast, which we need when we have much obstacles and don't need to throw that far because we can't really put much pressure in the rod to throw it. I recommend you to train these three casts outside at the water, at soccer place or somewhere else where you have enough space so you are very good prepared for the next time I go on water.
12. Bait lesson: So one of the most important topics when we go to the water is which, what kind of bait we want to fish. Therefore, we also have to know what kind of fish we actually want to catch. So we're always trying to take the bait which fits the best to the normal food of our target fish. For example, the purge most likely it's small fish. Therefore, if I want to get some purge, I would also try to fish small fish that look kind of like the same food that the perch in this water always eat. So if there are many little roach in the water, we should also fish with like a decor or with colors that look kinda similar to a roach. You should also know that in every water there are always like to kind of fish. The first kind of fish are the predatory fish and the other kinds are like the non predatory fish. So the predatory fish are the fish that eat the smaller fish. So the sick fish or yeah, just the bait fish that spawn really early. So the non predatory fish are fish that eat stuff that lays on the ground. So it's most likely some, some snails or other stuff, some, some shells or something. So when we want to catch the fish, we need to know what kind of food is the main food of our target fish. So as you can see here, I have a handful of Bates which all have a different kind of action underwater. So at the one side you can see some plastic loss and plastic Bates which have way less action underwater, then the spinner at the right-hand side. So when I want to catch a fish that is very active and I really want to make like much pressure underwater. I will more likely take the spinner on the right-hand side at my hand because it has way more active vibrancy underwater and a way higher frequency so the fish can feel it also better with the collateral. That is why I would now like to cover the most common kind of plastic Louis that the modern spin fissure like to fish. So let's just get to the next session.
13. Bait lesson part 2: So now I would like to cover with you some bait theory because there's so many Bates and loose out there in the market. If you go on a fishing shop, for example, you will see there are like thousands and thousands of weights and it is not easy, especially as a beginner to differentiate what is a good bait and what should I actually start fishing with. So therefore, I would like to show you the four best bates And my opinion, when you are a beginner and really just want to catch a fish. And, um, yeah, easy to cast, easy to fish baits that you will be successful very soon at the water. From the right to the left, we have the soft palate, we have the wobbler, we have the jerk weight, and we have the normal and classic spinner. So let's just dive into the soft edge and see what makes it special. So the soft palate is made out of two parts. That is the jig head with the hook and the way to the weights, um, like brings the war to the death. And where we want to fish or mostly to the ground where we want to fish. And the soft bait, like this one from the company, may be from Germany. And let me show you how to rig it real quick. It is not that hard. At first. We check where we want the hook to come out in the bait. So I just hold it like this and see, okay, I want to hook to be like this. Then I gone to mark the position and try to hook it in the middle. Then come out with my tip exactly where I made my mark. So like this, the soft paid with a jig is a very efficient and good base that I don't want to miss in my textbooks. And I fish it very often because especially Zander or purge are often at the ground of the water. And that is where we want to present our bait when we want to catch them and the jig head with the weight on it, in this case, 14 gram, as you can see here, is a very good method because you just let the bait sink to the ground and then you do like some very tiny strikes in your rod and reel it. And then you can take the bait over the ground. But I will cover the topic of jiggling. 1 lecture later or two lecture neighbors, I guess. So. Yeah, let's just talk about it when the time has come. The next one I would really like to show you as the jerk page in this case from strike pro, a Swedish company. And as you can already here, because it is really loud underwater, and as you can see here, it is very flashing. And when you see how it works underwater, it walks like zigzags and therefore it flashes. And that is really making the fish aggressive and provoking a bite. I would also recommend you to look for like contrast colors when you go and buy jerk aids. Because for example, this one has an orange belly and a black top. And a jerk bag is always like rolling from the left to the right when you jerk and underwater. And therefore this contrast comes and it is really a good advantage. And even on hard days when the fish don't really want to bite, this mostly egg provokes them for Biden. Yeah, it's super important to have this one and the tackle box. The next one I'd like to cover is the normal spinner. You probably know it, it's kind of the most famous fishing bed, I guess. And that's also for a reason because it is very efficient. It has like much pressure on the water, feel the pressure in the rod because this spinner spoon here and we'll rotate really fast and therefore make much vibrancy and much action under water. And the fish can feel the vibration underwater and will be provoked and probably by 2 the bait. And the last one is the very classic warbler. And as you can hear, it has like the jerk bait, very noisy components. So it is also a very aggressive bait underwater that provokes the fish. And with this like sinking spoon, you just cast the weight out and immediately start with reeling because the bait only works when you read and therefore the diving spoon comes into action, brings debate in the water area where you want to fish. In this case, I think it's about two meters. And this is also obeyed, which is often used by fishermen that would like to trawl. So you just cast the bait from the boat and then go into a slow motion. Driving and debate will work for itself, will roll from the left to the right. Like this one, is why we should also check whether the colors are in contrast. So we have a very good flashing kind of look underwater that will really provoked the fish. So that we're, in my opinion, the four most important debates when it comes to spin fishing that I would really recommend you to buy when you start fishing because they have a very hard and strong vibrancy underwater, make much pressure provoked the fish and are easy to fish actually, and how you are going to fish. This is what I will cover in the next topic. So let's just get right into the next lesson.
14. Different techniques of fishing/presenting the bait: So let's now cover how you actually have to work with these kind of Bates. I'm talking here about the warbler, the drug bait, and the soft palate with the jig. The normal spinner is not covered here because there's nothing really to focus on when you fish it, because you simply real the line until the spinner starts its vibrancy. And that's like all you have to do when fishing the spinner zone and nothing fashion about, nothing crazy about it. So I will just cover the three other baits. When it comes to the dirt paid, we want the baby to move in kind of a zigzag way so that it rolls from the left and to the right hand side and the colors can really flesh. We do this with small strokes that we given our rod. So the bait runs from the left to the right hand side. If you want, you can make some small breaks in this movement and let the jerk bade, just stand at the spot for two or three seconds. And that is also mostly good time where the fish strikes debate because, um, when we always have those movements and then put in like a shortstop, and this is really provoking the fish. The next made is the soft bed hooked on a jig. To fish this one successfully, we cast the bait and then wait for some seconds till the bait hits the ground. You can see this in this legging line. After that, make two to four crank turns and then wait again to the bait hits the ground. This is the whole movement which we want to repeat. It is very successful, especially for predatory fish, that a 100 near the ground of the water. So for example, caught or senders, then our fish that live in most of the time really close to the ground, hand the fish there that are looking for some food. And that is also what we want to imitate with our soft bait them with a jig on it. We want to imitate small fish that's looking At the ground for some food. And that is the moment where the Zander or caught or any other fish comes in, strikes or bait. The last bit I want to show you as the warbler. When the bait hits the water, you immediately start to reel in the line at a medium speed without doing any breaks. So the wobbler can come to a good death and which we expect the fish to be because at first we cast out the warbler, then we want to make like 10 meters really in the line. And so the warbler comes to a good death. And then we can like actually start fishing the warbler and the way that we wanted to fish it. So we can do some twitches, we can do some stops and let it just suspend at the spot for some seconds. And, or yeah, like put our very individualist kind of movement into the bait. And that is what I will also really recommend you to find your own style at the beginning and just try to feel safe with the bait that you fish. But at the end you can really try much things out like let the obeyed Stop for a second or like Twitch it harder or less hard and yeah, that's kind of what I want to give you here.
15. Learn how to properly read the water: So when we go on the water, it is very important that we don't just go anywhere and cast our rot because we can't catch fish where no fish are. That is why it is very important for us anglers to learn how to read the water. So we need to see at which spots the predators with a 100. So when we see, for example, bridges or a harbor or some trees hanging in the water. We also have to imagine what this will look like underwater. So this is very important for us to know what kind of fish we can expect in this water. Because when we go hunting for the predatory fish, we have to keep in mind that the predatory fish are most likely there where the small white first, so the food of the predatory fish are, so for example, when I go in the water, I will like in best-case fish there where the small fish are, because then the predators are not that far away. So if I go to the water and there are some, for example, you can see here hanging trees in the water. I also know this is what it looks like underwater. So the smaller fish will probably stay between the leaves of the tree underwater and yeah, just stay there, feel secure and feel some safety and try to hide themselves from the predator fish. Which is why I will try to cast my bait as close to the tree as possible, because this is where I guess, where the predatory fish will be. And that is also kind of the biggest difference that like differentiates the great anglers from the beginning endless or the English that are not that successful and like don't really catch that much fish. Because the more professional anglers know well better how to read the structure, how to read the water, where they have to catch the fish and where the fish are in the water. Because no matter how good we can at the end caste or rods or present our bait underwater. That all doesn't help us in the end when we first somewhere where no fish are. So therefore I can give you a good advice because no matter where we fish, we always want to find out what kind of structure we have underwater. And that is also a modern technical stuff can help us because there's an app called Navy onyx. And it has like from the most countries, the underwater structure cards. It I guess it really depends on what country lift, but it's mostly costs about €20. And there you can see like where you have in your water, where you want to fish the edges or like some deeper zone, some more flat zones and what your whole water looks like underwater. And that is really one topic, which is very important to me because many new anglers start with this like great kind of free time activity and they get frustrated very fast because they don't catch a fish. And that is in the most cases because they don't know where they should fish. So we always try to look where are the edges underwater because the predatory fish are mostly like on the top of some mountains underwater and hunting fish that are like deeper or some higher. So they use different water areas to hunt for the smaller fish. And that is why we should always fish somewhere where we know that there are edges underwater where we expect the predatory fish. And that is a knowledge that we can combine with our biologic and knowledge that you've learned some topics earlier. Because we can also like when we have the target fish of a PRD for example, which has like the superior mouth or jaw position. So we know the purchase like more likely and more floodwaters zones. And therefore we need the structure of the water to know where are the more flat zones in the waters. So we can like target the perch and fish just there where we expect to perch to be.
16. Learn how to properly read the water part 2: One advice I have for you is that when you are especially on a new waterway, don't know what it looks like underwater and you don't really have the cards on material to find out what the structure underwater looks like, is that you just go to the next fishing shop in your area or just US? Official meant that sits on the water. And what kind of ground structure do you have? Is the ground more money? Do we have like much wheat underwater? Do we have like some significant edges? Or are there some trees hanging in the water? So you can just like, get a better image of the water structure and therefore nowhere to fish. But even if we know the whole structure of the leg, that doesn't give us a guarantee. We will catch a fish because even the fish, the predatory fish and like move around underwater and like swim and kind of circuits and always go to the same food places. So we as anglers also have to move, which is why I would recommend you to not fish longer than half an hour maximum at each spot and tried to catch your rod like 360 degree. So you can really fish the most of the water area and check where the fish are. And if you don't get a bite there, but you know, it's a good spot. Just move on, go to the next spot, and really tried to stay flexible. So to sum up, the best places where we can expect the fish to be. Our harbors, floodgates, like trees that hang in the water and edges underwater and probably like much seaweed or much grass underwater where the fish can height between. This is what you should always look for. And when you have those kind of spot, you will, in the most cases be successful on the long-term.
17. Hook, fight, catch, stun and kill the fish - properly: So let's now cover the last topic, which is a pretty important one because I want to show you how you kill the fish and the right way without hurting it unnecessary and kill it in the fastest way. So the fishes less under stress. When we hope to fish and fight it successfully, we should prepare our lending net. After we caught the fish and our net. In this case, you can see a beautiful Zander here with a very good and healthy size to eat. We want to unhook the fish so we can kill it without the risk that a fish pitches. And we enjoy ourselves with the sharp hooks. For unlocking the fish. Please always take a pliers because I'm hooking the fish without pliers is dangerous, especially for unexperienced fisherman. After that, we wanted to hit the forehead of the fish with a very hard object, in this case a hard bottle to stun the fish, so it does not feel the knife. When we kill it with the hardest step. Take a sharp knife and go under the gilts a bit further down and stitch the heart. After that, I personally like to cut the main artery. So the fish also loses its blood because the fish heart is small and you do not always hit the alarmed when stitching it. Cutting the main artery definitely kills the fish. Then. That's it. You can now clean the fish and enjoy your fresh caught fish.
18. Summary of all topics: In this last lecture, I would now like to sum up all the new knowledge that you've gained and show you how I act when I arrive at a new water. So let's dive in it and get the spread. Before I check out a new water where I want to finish, I need to check whether I have all the licenses and documents to fish legally there. When I arrive at the water, I firstly check the whole area and environment. While I do this, I tried to imagine what the water looks like underwater. So the structure and where I can expect the predatory fish or a small white fish. After a found some nice spots where I think that fish could hide, I want to prepare my tackle. Therefore, I screw my real at the fishing rod, threat the line through the rings and not my letter with the connection naught that you've learned earlier before. In this case, I'm taking a monofilament letter with the medium strength of 0 dot five millimeters because I expect purge at my spot and therefore I don't want that they see the letter, which is why I choose the more invisible option and monofilament letter. When I've successfully not the letter, I pull it at the end to test the strength. Then I will not snap at the end of it so I can hang in my lower. Therefore, I use the NOT which I showed you using the scissors, if you like, can remember some lectures earlier. The gear is now prepared and they want to choose a bait that might provoke the fish to bite. Therefore, I take a small soft paid with a jig because I want to fish under a hanging tree. So I can't really fish in the surface. And even fishing in the middle water zone could be difficult, so the sinking Jake would be perfect there. Therefore, I take a small soft page that looks like a roach. So the main food of my target Fisher, the perch. Then I want to prepare the lending net and check whether I did not leave any non-biodegradable stuff or other trash that may harm the nature. When doing the first cast, I check whether my break is adjusted right? So if I should get a bite and the first cast, there will be enough power in the rod to set the hook right. Then I'll do my first costs. If I have no bite or any kind of contact to a fish within the first 30 minutes. I'll go on to the next spot where I try my luck and maybe choose a new bait with different characteristics. When i then finally catch something, I want to make sure that the lending net is next to me so I can lend the fish safely. After I put the fish on the landing met, I want to identify its species to know whether I'm allowed to kill it and eat it. Therefore, I check the minimum and maximum sizes of the area where I fish and then measure the fish to see whether I can kill it. And the next step I want to take my pliers and carefully free the hook without letting the fish bite or stitch me. Then I can take a hot object and standards by hitting its head three or four times. Then I take my knife and stitch. It's hard. After that, cut the main artery and that's it. I hope I could give you a nice first insight until this great free time experience. And therefore, I hope you are now super hyped to get on the water Trier lag and make use of your new gained knowledge. I can tell you that if you listened carefully, you will know more about the basics of fishing than the half of the worldwide fishermen. If you want to drop a comment, I would be super thankful. And if you want, please recommend or share the course to your friends and audience. Also, please check out my Instagram channel and I hope to see you sometime at the water. Thanks guys. It was a pleasure. Bye.
